of us and now it's our turn donate this holiday
season at Sesame dot org because the world needs Sesame
and you know what Sesame needs you, and you know
what we need to do. What we need to have
a conversation about the AFC North. Okay, whatever the hell

(01:50):
you call the AFC North this year because it's all
on the line next Sunday Night. What a shocker. We
we were on set last night, like, God, who do
you think the Sunday night game is going to Because
they wait until the last minute to reveal it. It's like,
who do you think the Ravens and the Steelers are
playing for the AFC North? Based on Pittsburgh coming out

(02:13):
and looking awful against the Cleveland Browns yesterday and Baltimore
dominating Green Bay with Snoop Puntley on Saturday night and
so now it all comes down to Steelers, Ravens and
Pittsburgh seeing if they can do it at home with
no DK medk metcalflices.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
It's it's uh. He was sitting somewhere sick as hell yesterday, yep.
Because he's the difference in the game.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
They and and let me tell you something about yesterday
as well. And I mean some people said it made
it kind of apparent and evident they were more interested
and not being the record for Miles Garrett than they
were winning that game. Oh you think so, Oh, they
were more interested in making sure that they could try

(03:02):
to win that game while accomplishing not becoming making history
with the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
It was to me, it was so evident, and so.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
When you when you look at what they did, the
one that was the most apparent and probably most egregious
is the idea of not being under center as the
Pittsburgh Steelers, like you, aligned in a shotgun formation pretty

(03:38):
much all game, Aaron Rodgers was not holding the ball
long enough to take chances and take shots to create
those big plays that help open up the run game.
They've been very consistent with how they've ran the ball
They've been very consistent on opening up and accessing the

(04:00):
second levels of in the third level of the defenses
for explosive plays based off of being aligned under center
and running the football, and that's not what they did yesterday.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Mike Tomlin was asked about whether or not they changed
the way they operated or whether or not that was
more of a focus than was winning the game yesterday,
and he addressed the situation afterwards.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
We didn't do anything against Miles that we don't normally
do against Miles. The sack records irrelevant. We got to
minimize him if we want to engineer victory. We did
the same thing last time we played him. I didn't
think he had any sacks in that game either, and
so we didn't take a different approach because of the
gravity of the record. It's just standard business when you
when you play these guys and him.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
I don't I mean, I disagree with you.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
You're You're not alone, because I did see some people
say that Pittsburgh looked like they were more concerned about
that than really anything else. And listen, you wouldn't be.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
It wouldn't be so obvious if Aaron Rodgers didn't wink
at anymore whatever that was he did when Miles Garrett
came free and he just threw the ball away like
they were more like while I'll say, yes, what Mike,
what Mike Tomlin is saying is in theory, in fact,
probably accurate. But the way they handled the things that

(05:22):
they went about their business like we went about our business.
They understood the gravity of what was going on, and
the gravity of that dictated quick releases. It was the
way things were handled on the field that made it
seem as though that it was more important. And and

(05:43):
and it's interesting because just on my little thread, one
of the threads, there are a couple former Steelers on
that thread, and they immediately was like, why are they
not under center? And I was like, well, it's explain
to me what that represents to you. It is like, well,
they're clearly moving Aaron Rodgers away from the ball so

(06:08):
that he can see what's going on with Miles Garrett
and get rid of the ball quickly. You're not now,
I will say this, Well, never know, they didn't have
dk Metcalf, so they didn't you know, Valdad Scantling was
you're probably your next best option or your tight ends
the tight end, the big tight end goes out, he's

(06:30):
jacked up. Now he's got a broken arm broken on
in Washington, Washington.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
You know it just.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Maybe there's a little bit of.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
The they did things a little bit differently, not based
off of Jess Miles Garrett, but based off of personnel.
Maybe they had to do things a little differently. That's possible,
But I just think got a first glance the way
they went about things in that game, especially offensively speaking.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Yeah, they were aware of Miles Garrett.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
And I'm gonna tell you how I know they were
aware of them because they were trying to move him around.
The Browns were really trying to move him around, and
they were like they were just so focused and dowed
in on. But you know, Miles Garrett has never sacked
Aaron Rodgers. He's played against him, I believe three times.
He's never sacked them. So there is that. So I

(07:27):
will say to maybe Mike Tomlin's defense. I mean, they
did play them once this year already, and he did
not get to Aaron Rodgers in that game either, So
three times.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
You know how in college football there's this conference pride,
which I always find odd because you're rooting against these
teams the entire time, and then when your team's not
in it, all of a sudden, it's SCC or it's
Big ten or whatever. It's like, you know, these are
your rivals, but you're supporting the conference the bigger picture.

(08:00):
I guess if you were one of those people with
the AFC North and you're all about supporting your AFC North,
you want to see it rec you want to see
it do big things in the postseason. If that's the case,
you definitely don't want Pittsburgh getting in because they are
one and done. If I've ever seen it, Baltimore feels

(08:22):
like their ceiling is higher now, whether or not Lamar
Jackson plays and what the hell's going on with that
and all the reports from the Baltimore Sun and whatnot.
But Baltimore at least feels like you watch Derrick Henry
and it's like, damn man four touchdown on the ground.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
That's not sustainable.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Yeah, And it just it feels like Baltimore. And this
isn't just because you know, I'm pot committed because they
were my Super Bowl pick before the year, and so
it keeps the hope alive. I recognize neither one of
these teams has lived up to their expectation, especially Baltimore.
They've both been disappointments. But if you're one of those
people that's like, all right, but which one could make
noise in the postseason, I think it's the Ravens. Pittsburgh

(09:04):
looks like every other Pittsburgh team that's been to the
postseason the last ten years, one and done. And what
yesterday showed me is, yeah, man, this DK Metcalf stuff
was maybe a lot bigger of a deal on the
field than what people.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Wanted to make it out time you knew it.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
They just they looked lost. There was no There was
just nothing.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
They have no difference maker, nothing out there on the edges.
And it doesn't you can't open up and access a
defensive secondary if you don't have one guy that commands
a double team. You gotta have one that commands a
double team. You have to. If you don't have one,
then those guys that are out there being single covered,

(09:48):
you had better be able to win win your matchups.
And again, like they were able to get the friar
moof a few times, but it just wasn't, you know,
it just wasn't as wide open a an offensive days
as you have seen in the past few weeks.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Like this is what it looks, and look, a lot
of this stuff is going to change. There's different scenarios
and whatnot that we can get in throughout the course
of the week. But as it stands right now, this
would be your four or five matchup. All right, let's
just say Pittsburgh wins next week. Let's just say those
are the types of games they win. And by the way,
they're like, this is what the betting market thinks of Pittsburgh.
They're a three and a half point underdog at home

(10:33):
against Baltimore and we don't even know if Lamar Jackson
is going to play. That's what everybody. So if you're
a Steelers fan and you get sensitive about this, that's
what that's what they think about your team. But this
would be your first round matchup if you're Pittsburgh. If
you were to win next week and you're hosting a
playoff game, you get the Houston Texans have fun with that.

(10:54):
As of right now, that's where we're at. That's the
four or five matchup.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Go and get out of that one.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
No, no, and I gonna get out of that one.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
That's that's a nightmare. Like if you if you thought
Cleveland was getting after Rogers yesterday, what do you think
Houston's gonna do that?

Speaker 2 (11:11):
And they've come on at the right time. Yes, they've
definitely started to They were still kind of like that
hot and cold type team. They've really kind of they've
they've turned it on for certain Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
I just I look at this and I go, Baltimore
feels like the one of the two that you could go,
all right, maybe that's a sleeper. I just don't see
anything from Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
I don't see I feel the same way about Baltimore Personally.
I feel I feel as though Baltimore this year more
like I thought they were eliminated from the playoffs. To
be honest with you, they they've been a very, very
average team this year. They've been a very average team
this year, and I guess they're rewarded in the sense

(11:56):
that it's been an average year for the AFC North. Yeah,
and and so they're in the position that they're in
to get in by winning the division. Uh, but I
don't I don't listen. I asked this the other week
and and you guys got all weird and Clammy, I
guess because Harball isn't you know Mike Tomlin?

Speaker 4 (12:18):
You know?

Speaker 2 (12:19):
But I compared the two and said, why should we
be looking at Mike Tomlin any differently than the way
we're looking at at Harball? Why should we be looking
at Harball any differently than the way we're looking at Tomlin.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Because he's white?

Speaker 2 (12:32):
There you go, Yeah, I'm glad you said it.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
What do you mean?

Speaker 2 (12:38):
I feel like Baltimore has hit their ceiling and and
if I'm being honest, there's a chance that Lamar Jackson
hit his There's a chance.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Oh did you see the uh the article that came
out in the Baltimore Sun. Lust But I'm surprised it
didn't get maybe because it was a holiday week. I'm
surprised that it didn't get more maybe more attention or
more run then.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
But I've been saying this for a little while. Now,
Why isn't Harball on the hot seat in Baltimore?

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Do you want to hear some of the quotes about
Lamar Jackson here? So this was from Mike Preston of
the Baltimore Sun. Quote the breakdown of an NFL player's
body is natural, but Jackson could help himself. He doesn't
need to be up late at night playing video games
or falling asleep in team meetings. He needs to train
more around the castle instead of only attending mandatory mini

(13:36):
camps where he disappears after one day. A major problem,
a lot of it is on the Ravens, is that
there are team rules and then there are rules for
Lamar Jackson. That's why Baltimore practices in the heat of
the afternoon instead of in the morning. Once the Ravens
become critical of Jackson, he becomes more withdrawn. It's a
shame because Jackson isn't a mean spirited person, just an
overgrown kid and an adult's body. It's clear that coach

(13:58):
John Harbaugh has become tired of Jackson, even though he
builds him up after every game. He has to or
Jackson will go into his self exile. Boy, that seems
like a fun relationship. And I'll say this, I reached
out to somebody who would know a little bit more
about this and close to that situation than I would,

(14:19):
and they said that there's one hundred percent validity to
all that. So it does feel like if Baltimore doesn't
get in the conversation you're having about John Harbaugh is
a real one. And I don't know if this is
a either or you got to keep one or the
other because that relationship has run its course. But it
does feel like this game Sunday Night there's going to

(14:39):
be some changes. Like whoever loses this game on Sunday Night,
there's going to be some changes. If Pittsburgh loses, that
could be the end of Aaron Rodgers. If I re
betting right now, that's probably it.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
I feel like, I feel like when you look at
the Lamar Jackson situation, it it's not going to be
an easy fix one way or the other. If it's
as if it's what it sounds like and what you're
you know what you just read, and if it does

(15:12):
have validity to it, it's not an easy fix. And
you look at it from the standpoint, it's not easy.
If you hadn't noticed, it's not easy to find quarterbacks
that can impact your team. That's one, And how much
time does a coach get with that changing of the QB.
Then two, you have a quarterback that at times flash

(15:35):
is brilliance, two time MVP and and has shown the
ability to be hid and shoulders better than everybody else
out there on the field.

Speaker 4 (15:49):
But then you look at.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
The shortcomings when the games are on the line and
they really matter, and listen, some of that is not
at the field of Lamar Jackson. Not to blame him
for some of the things that have happened in playoff games,
but nonetheless they happened. I think what brings to life

(16:12):
the real life concern of this situation, or if those
quotes are real, if those are the things that are
going on, you know, at some point players start to
look at it from the standpoint of maybe we have
a whole lot more to do with this ship running

(16:33):
smoothly through all of the moments that y'all have, with
what y'all got going on. And if that is the case,
if that becomes more of a pronounced situation, then that ultimately,
which has been the same conversation we've had about Tomlin
and Pittsburgh. If you're doing things that have led to

(16:56):
consistent shortcomings at a certain position and it's led to
the team maybe their ultimate demise each season, then you're
talking about, oh, has he lost the locker room? And
then I would ask the same question about horrorball in Baltimore.

(17:18):
If Indeed, Lamar Jackson is somewhat hitting a plateau in
his career. Maybe I won't go as far as to
say his ceiling, but it's possible he could have hit
his ceiling.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
And look if he did reach his ceiling, Damn, that's
a high ceiling.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
I mean he hit a high ceiling.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Yeah, but if your harball, how do you handle this situation?
And if you're handling it the way that this article
is saying it, then you're running the risk of losing
your locker room. When if you're not running it that way,
you're running the risk of losing your quarterback. Which one
is worth it?

Speaker 1 (17:51):
They look pretty damn good on Saturday Night, Like that
didn't look like a team that was like f this guy.
And I'm not Look, I don't. I don't want to
pick sides because I love Lamar Jackson. He's one of
my favorite players in the league. I think he's been fantastic.
But I have noticed, and I think a lot of
people have. Damn, he misses a lot of time. And
it's either he's sick, or he's this, or he's and

(18:12):
it's those like those quotes from that article. Those I'm sorry,
I those quotes like those quotes from the article stays
up too late at night playing video games, they falls
asleep in team meetings like those aren't just generic, you know,

(18:35):
painting a broad picture type of quote. Those are specific,
which leads me to believe this got out because somebody
wanted it to get out, because maybe somebody's tired of
the fact that he is sick all the time, that
he can't stay healthy, that he doesn't practice full weeks,
that he's missed like seven straight Wednesday practices, and everything

(18:55):
that comes along with it. And so yeah, maybe it
is to the point to where it's reached its ceiling,
and it's a really high ceiling. And people can say, well, yeah,
but you never won a Super Bowl. Man, not everybody
can win super Bowls, Like it's really hard to do.
Not everybody can do it. There's a lot of great
quarterbacks that have gone through the history of the NFL

(19:17):
that never won a Super Bowl or never even got
to a Super Bowl. I just I think that this
game coming up on Sunday night for the loser, there's
going to be changes based on how this season is
look for both of them. And the one that's the
most interesting is the one that we're talking about, Lamar Jez.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
I thought I've always thought it was the most interesting one, honestly.
But I will say Pittsburgh is a super Pittsburgh is
the more discussed topic.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
It's the more talked about topic.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
But I feel like they both are in the same situation,
and I feel like both conversations are conversations that probably
will be ensuing.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
It's not going to be ignored. I'll say that. I
don't see it.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Being a it goes and and listen, Jonas, It's not
over after that game. If they go in, whoever doesn't
make it in right because whoever loses, basically they go home.
Yeah they're done. Yeah that's an issue. But then the
next team is going to go in and what if
they are one and done team.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
So and that's why I look at Pittsburgh and I
go they feel like a one and done team. Who
would let me ask you this, if it is, you know, Houston,
Pittsburgh or Houston. If it's Houston versus the AFC North
winner in the first three, who would you trust more
in that game against you? I don't trust either one
of them. I would trust Baltimore. Why because it's the
same team because they can run the ball and the

(20:46):
Pittsburgh and they've got a mobile quarterback to get away from.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
That Pastwsburgh doesn't have a mobile quarterback.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Why not? And you don't know you don't because he's white? No,
because don't no, Just go with that, please, LaVar Arrington says,
Pittsburgh's quarterback is not mobile because he's white. Run for
that anyway, tag Ryan Clark.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
If you because.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
That's a good one. I was joking everyone, because they'll
they'll pick that up. Of course they'll run out in
Pittsburgh too. About everybody has a sense anymore. I was joking.
I mean Aaron Rodgers, I don't care if he was black.
He's old as hell and he can't he can't run anymore.
I mean that that one pat he went back for

(21:31):
the past and tried to run for the first down.
It was like two yards to get the first down.
And his mind said, you can go fast like the
old Aaron, but his body was like, I can't go
fast like the old Aaron, and his legs started spinning
real fast and he just fell down like missed the
first down, didn't get it anyways. I knew he was
done at that, but this is a bigger question for

(21:53):
Lamar Jackson and where do you go from here? How
do you view Lamar Jackson moving forward. One, if they
were to lose this game and not make it to
the playoffs, is it just off season, let's see what happens.
Or Two, they make it to the playoffs and it
isn't the type of playoff run that people were hoping

(22:15):
for from the Baltimore Ravens. I don't have confidence that
either one of these teams can do well in the playoffs.
So it's almost like you got a big ass scab
on it, and one is going to get the scab
pulled off next week, well, this week, another is going
to get the scab, which which one is more painful.

Speaker 4 (22:33):
I'd rather get the.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Scab pulled off now, Oh yeah, just get it out.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
Of the way.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
Ye have.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
At least she get to the playoffs. It's you know,
it's fun.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
These are two teams that have not had losing seasons, which,
by the way, I do believe if what are the
Steelers right now?

Speaker 1 (22:52):
The Pittsburgh Steelers' efforting, efforting, efforting, The Pittsburgh Steelers are
nine and seven, Okay, so they'll still end up with it.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
But the Ravens for eight and eight, Yeah, they could
be an eight, So they could be an eight to
nine team. I'm just saying I think either way there's
going to be a tremendous judgment if a team makes it.
If one of those teams makes it, to which one
will make it to the playoffs and they're not competitive

(23:21):
in the playoffs, I think that that's more damning than
missing the playoffs against a divisional opponent that historically, you
guys have been the top and the crest and which
you are because you're playing for the divisional title. So
I would rather lose that game than losing the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Honestly, I know it's going to be a tough road regardless.

About fifteen minutes from now, we are going to another

is time for the tire Rack Play of the Day.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Perty's in the shotgun with Robinson beside him with the
Bear's thirty eight yard line. Second down, Pretty drops back,
pretty steps up, Pretty cross.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Jennas he's gone up headside the twenty.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
The time he's gone.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Touchdos I get Front Niners Radio Network on the call
that your tire ract play the Day. For over forty years,
tire Rack's been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Ship fast and freeback by
free Road has a protection with convenient installation options like
mobile tire installation tire rack dot Com the way tire
buying should be. So the other big one, though, there

(28:21):
are two games in the in the late window yesterday,
and you had to choose, right, you could either watch
the Eagles and the Bills. You have to choose, or
you can watch the Giants and the Raiders. And I mean,
I think we all know what you should have watched. Yeah,
that's that's a couple of bad teams in the other one.
But Eagles Bills yesterday you mentioned Philadelphia's defense. Jalen Carter

(28:47):
is a beast and whatever whatever that guy's going to get,
whatever his contract's going to look like, he deserves every penny.
That guy's a game wrecker. He missed the last three
games and he was involved in seemingly every single defensive series,
situation scenario they were in that that had a positive outcome.

(29:10):
Jalen Carter was involved in all of it. Blocked an
extra point. He's unbelievable. And yesterday the Philadelphia Eagles go
on the road in Buffalo in the rain, was not pretty,
did not look like the most glorious victory in the world,
but still championship pedigree and Philly gets it done on
the road.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
If they had an offense, this team would be far
and away probably the favorite to win it again if
they that's how good their defense is. Is that their
offense isn't that good at all. And they're still an
eleven and five team. That's a top of the NFC East,

(29:51):
that that is one of the top teams in the
NFC going into and some would say, you know, I
got Group two, that's one one one of the people
in the group chat. Sit, man, they're getting hot at
the right time. Let's see no offense, no offense. They're
they're in trouble. If you ask me, it's a team

(30:13):
that's in trouble because you have you have to bring
more offense to the table than what the Philadelphia Eagles
are doing. That's there, that's their a kiellzeel right now.
They don't have their offense. Isn't a good offense?

Speaker 1 (30:27):
That's your problem. Man, You're just like every other Eagles fan,
you know, only looking at the negative side. I mean,
I mean you want you want to hear Nick Sirianni.
He's got a little message to Philadelphia Eagles fans who
aren't happy about the performance.

Speaker 8 (30:40):
If you come out of this and you have, then
you're you're just thinking about all the negative things that
happen that makes for a miserable existence.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
We'll get there, We'll get to what we need to
clean up.

Speaker 8 (30:50):
And you know, a really good first half by the offense,
not a great second half, and a lot of a
lot of different reasons why.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
When he says we'll get there, it's this week seventeen.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
But maybe they'll get there.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
I mean, you're eleven and five, and this is why
I'll give them credit for you're eleven and five.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
And you won a really, really really hard game.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
That was not that was not an easy game to win.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
To go into Orchard and be able to pull off
that victory, that is as quality of victory as it get.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Even though the Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Bills have been known to be a little bit you know,
they have multiple personalities. Yeah, it's a multiple personality team
that you know, sometimes you don't know what you're going
to get. But that isn't the team you got yesterday.
You got a team that was ready to win, and
they almost won. They you know, they were a little
bit off. I, for one, would have after having that

(31:52):
type of opportunity. I get in a lot of ways.
Why you know, you you went for the two, The
defense was playing really well. Maybe you didn't want to
risk the tie coming in overtime, but I might have.
I might have kicked the field goal and took it

(32:13):
to overtime and saw what we could get done in overtime.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
No extra point.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
I really I really felt as though. But you know,
there's the paranoia you got a field goal blocked earlier. Carter, Yeah,
I mean there's I get it. I get it, But
I would rather have lost taking a field goal an
extra point attempt and seeing what we could do in
overtime versus versus going for the two point.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
In that moment, Sean McDermott, the coach of the Bills,
spoke about the decision to go for two and go
for the win late in that game. Let's take a listen,
I want to be aggressive going for the win.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
You know, would you feel like, you know, on a
certain amount of time left at that point, and so
like we had a great, great call, great opportunity.

Speaker 6 (33:04):
To go wining, and I'm going to be aggressive. So
I sit back the j blot earlier impactures making.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Potentially it wasn't everything, but I trust Josh Allen with
the ball in his hands, and I do it over again.
Josh Allen even admitted afterwards, like I just I made
it back throw. Yeah, So the I mean, the call
was there, the play was there, the opportunity was there,
and you know, he just he rolled with it and

(33:32):
decided I'm going to go and trust my MVP and
my best player with the ball in his hands.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
Late.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
But I think they what's that supposed to say?

Speaker 3 (33:40):
That?

Speaker 4 (33:40):
Well it didn't work.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
Well, it didn't work, But I also think it says
a lot about Philly's defense because they had him rattled
and scrambled the entire game. Like Buffalo's offense did not
look and they struggled last week as well too. And
I don't know if Josh Allen's more hurt than he's
leading on. There was a report that he went in
to get an X ray after the game. We tried
to tell everybody, I'm not injured, I'm not banged up.

(34:03):
You know, he had something going on with his foot
going into the game. He went in to get an
X ray afterwards. That's something to monitor. But I just
think Philadelphia's defense had them scrambled, and you know, like
the goal line stop, Like there were so many opportunities
there for Buffalo to punch it in to make a

(34:25):
run at this thing, and Philadelphia just stood up. And
that's why in a wide open NFC where you have
no idea who to really trust going into it, how
do you not trust Philadelphia? Who's been there, won those
big games, has that defense, and as has the talent
on offense. It just hasn't clicked so far this year.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
As long as their defense shows up they had, they
should be in every game, every game. But again, as
long as their defense shows up. I mean, imagine if
they found themselves in the type of game that San
fran and Chicago found themselves in last night. They don't
have enough firepower to be in a game like that,
and they should have enough firepower. They should have more

(35:09):
than enough firepower. I mean, personnel wise, you have Sakwan Barkley,
you have aj Brown, you have Johan Dotson, you have
Smith Levante Smith, Like.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
You're loaded. You have a really really fine offensive front.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
I mean, you you have what you need.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
It doesn't make sense. It does not make sense other
than to think that Jalen Hurts will always protect the
best interests of the integrity of what's going on with
the game. In other words, he's going to protect the ball,
not going to take very many risks, and is going

(35:55):
like he's going to proudly and and with honor.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
He's going to.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Manage the games. He's going to manage almost like a parent.
He's like a parent on the football field, you know
what I mean, Like you're not as a parent. You're
not going to have like you go to the park
or you go somewhere, You're always managing. You're always managing always.
Yet hey, no, not on there no get down, get down,

(36:26):
down right, leave him alone? Watch your watch, your footing,
what are you doing? Put your shoe back on. That's
Jayalen Hurts. In my estimation, he's like a dad, and
maybe that's why it gets under people's scaling.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
In my case.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
Alto vom no Moss true, Thank you, Jerry.

Speaker 4 (36:53):
I'm just saying. I mean, they won a super Bowl
and he won a m v P of wh I mean,
it's not like a doesn't work.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
And you know that the offense looks significantly better last
year as opposed to this year. Yeah, I just think
that speaks volumes about the NFC that you're going to
get a team like Philly who's not going to have
the one seed, who's not gonna have anywhere close to
the one seed, who's going.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
To be.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
A real threat to make what they're playing for that
second seed?

Speaker 4 (37:22):
Right Yeah?

Speaker 2 (37:22):
Yeah, And if they get that second seed, I mean
you have to go through Philly to get it done.
A plan against Philly, yeah, you.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
Got to do.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
They'll get the two to seven matchup and then you
wait to see the first round how that shapes up.
But yeah, they're going to get at least a game
at home, and that's a problem. There's also the outside
chance they could end up with the Rams in the
first round, and we saw what happened last year in
the playoffs. That was a really close game. Rams probably
should have won the game earlier this year.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
So look, but at what point do you get to
a place where you say that about the Eagles last night?
If you're watching that Eagles game, what do you say
about the Buffalo Bills. It's probably a game that the
Buffalo bill should have got away, I should have got
out of and won. They should have been able to
get that two point conversion and win the game. But

(38:14):
when you look at the game and its entirety and
its whole Philadelphia did what they needed to do and
they won the game. They got a lead that protected
the lead. It's always going to be hard the further
they go and the more they do it, it's going
to get harder and harder to say that's a game
they should have lost, because that's kind of the way

(38:36):
they fight on their backs. They went on their back,
and you don't have to dump that. You know, they
fight on their backs and they're pretty dang good at it. Yeah,
some people are so some people aren't they.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
You know you got away from work, didn't you?

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (40:31):
I did. I took two days they wed.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
Is that getting away?

Speaker 4 (40:36):
Okay? Okay, well I take that. Yeah. I was at
home though.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
What about you?

Speaker 4 (40:40):
Did you get away or no?

Speaker 3 (40:43):
I was here? I worked actually on Christmas Day?

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (40:45):
Okay for a little bit, not long.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
That's what I'm talking about.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
Work.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
Your big takeaway from the classic we saw last night
between the Bears and the.

Speaker 4 (40:56):
Niners was what.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
To be coaching the year? It's incredible. Think about who
wasn't playing last night? They have five Okay, Party is
not a star of stars. There's a really good quarterback.
But if you take their stars off that team, five
top players off that team, Krent Williams has won, George
Kittle's won, Christian McCaffrey, Fred Warner, and Nick Bosa, and

(41:20):
how many of them were in the lineup last night?
One Trent Williams went out one. I mean, it's incredible.
It's absolutely incredible what they've done with that team. And
and if they win, uh this week against Seattle, which
we know Sam Darnold's on the road, and I don't
care how bad San francis because defenses, they're going to
win that game. Then they win two games in the playoffs,

(41:42):
and they played the super Bowl at home, which is
absolutely incredible. Now having said that their defense is awful,
but but I do think that they get Party in
that group gives them a legitimate chance to be a
threat in the postseason, no question about it.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
I gotta say, listen, there's there's no real door priz
or or feel good loss, but this this this Chicago
Bears team is for real. I mean, could you have
come away from that game last last evening, feeling just
as confident about the Bears and a loss as you

(42:17):
do about maybe the Niners in that win.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
Well, I think both their defenses are bad.

Speaker 1 (42:23):
I mean, you know who run, Yeah, they can't rush
the passer, and neither one can get to the quarterback,
can rush the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
And when you play in the playoffs and you can't
rush the quarterback, that's going to be a problem. So
and let's not forget they're an on site kick, boxed
on side kick away from losing that game to Green
Bay last week, and so we would be thinking differently
of them. But I'm more going Look, I think Caleb
Williams is taking big strikes. I think Ben Johnson is
a big, big time play caller. I think they can
run the ball. The line's good, They're going to score

(42:50):
points on offense. But I'm worried about that defense. I mean,
they're when you can't rush the passer and most quarterbacks
had all day, I think that's a big problem for
both teams going forward.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
Which you rather have though, Pete, would you rather have
offense or would you have defense? Because it seems like
you got to make a choice these days. I mean,
you look at the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (43:07):
You got to choose.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
Do you do you want a team that has a
defense that's going to make it make it work? Or
do you want to have a team like the Niners
or the Bears that have a offense that can make
it work.

Speaker 4 (43:17):
Which one? Which one would be better?

Speaker 3 (43:19):
I'd rather be the Eagles because I think that there's
always a chance that Barkley's going to get it going,
you know what I mean. And that defense is suffocating,
and I think that Barkley can We've seen him do it,
so I think they can get a god. I just
think the play calling is bad for them, and Jalen
Hurts is not play very well. But I'd rather be
the Eagles. I think you have to be able to
knock the other guy's quarterback down. It's disaster, and I

(43:41):
don't see that for either one of those two teams.

Speaker 1 (43:44):
Pete Prisco joining us here on Fox Sports Radio, senior
NFL columns for CBS Sports, CBS Sports HQ analysts. You
can get him on x at Prisco CBS. All right,
So I mentioned this earlier that I was going to
ask you about it, because back in August, when you
were doing your training camp tour. Uh oh, you were
speaking glowingly about what you saw from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,

(44:05):
And I don't know what transpired halfway through the season,
but they are a shell of themselves and they find
themselves still with an opportunity to win at home and
get into the playoffs and probably most likely be a
one and done. What the f is going on in
Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers.

Speaker 3 (44:23):
Injuries, That team's been decimated. You know, they played yesterday
without their two starting guards and without Tristan Wurris on
the offensive line. And I don't care what Baker Mayfield says.
He's hurt, he's hurt. He got hurt, and it very
thinks he got hurt in the Rams game. I think
he got hurt in the forty nine Ers game. And
it's kind of played through it. He's not throwing the

(44:43):
ball close to what he was throwing at early in
the season. And now they have their weapons back. It's
been one of those years. They didn't have the offensive line. Early,
they had the wide receivers going in out of the lineup.
Now the wide receivers are all back, the offensive line
continues to be banged up. And you go to the
defensive side of the ball. You talk about a team
that doesn't rush, pass or that, well, that's them. They
went out and got Reddick, thinking that they who had

(45:04):
joined Diabbi to be able to rush the quarterback with
Kanty inside, Canty's not playing very isn't playing because he's
been hurt all year. The other guys aren't playing well.
The secondary has been giving up a bunch of bus
It's not a good look. And you know, and when
they can't score offensively, that's a problem because I don't
think they're very good defensively. Now, having said all that,
they're playing a quarterback or crow for fifty four yards

(45:26):
last this past week, fifty four for Ice Young, as
they started calling him in Carolina. He melted yesterday because
he was awful, and so I mean, yeah, did you
see that the teammates because he's been cool at the
end of games, he's won some games, so they started
calling him Ice Young.

Speaker 1 (45:43):
Wait a second, have you identified the next quarterback on
your hit list?

Speaker 3 (45:47):
Have you?

Speaker 1 (45:48):
Says Bryce Young? Now, the guy you're going to.

Speaker 3 (45:50):
Go after he's been on he's been on my list.
I don't think he's very good.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
I mean, you guys are the same size. I would
think that should be like looking out for him, like.

Speaker 4 (46:00):
Looking up for him.

Speaker 3 (46:01):
Well, yeah, I'm in the same size and I'm not
playing quarterback in the NFL for a reason because I
am that size, right, I mean, I don't think he's
very good. And they have a tough situation now because
what do you do with them?

Speaker 2 (46:13):
You're stronger, well, you're built stronger, like you could probably
lift more weights than him though probably.

Speaker 3 (46:19):
Yeah, And so I just think that one of those
two teams is going into the playoffs. So if you're
at the NFC teams, you want to be the number five.
Wouldn't rather be number five, the number six or seven?
For sure? Right? You might might be number five than
than three because you could go play them. You go
play one of those two teams on the road and
I can't carry you know, like I know it's on
the road. But you would think that that's a good

(46:40):
pass for you to try and get to the next round.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
Oh yeah, yeah, totally agree.

Speaker 2 (46:44):
Speaking of trying to get to the round, the first pick,
your your raiders did what everybody thought that they would do,
but even in more impressive fashion than the Maybe what
I had originally thought I didn't think that they'd be
able to lose that badly to a team like the
New York Giants, but they did. What what's your Is

(47:05):
it a rap? Is it a rap for Pete Carroll?
Is it a rap for this this coaching staff? Is
it another one and done?

Speaker 3 (47:11):
I don't know if it is for Pete Carroll, in
large part because I don't know if they can continue
to pay head coaches. I think the Gruden thing's still
in litigation for money they're paying him, They're still paying
what McDaniels, they're still paying Peers, they're paying they were
paying Chip Kelly six million a year. They're still paying
that contract out How much can you keep letting go
out the door? And so I don't know if they

(47:34):
fire them. But they're awful and that was a tank job.
I don't care what anybody they can they can. I mean,
the thing they did with with Crosby was terrible and
they just looked lifeless. But the problem with that team
is they overvalued Gino Smith, which everybody in the league
did last year. And you know, remember when the Raiders signed,

(47:56):
oh great signing Gino Smith. Look what he did well?
Do you think Seattle didn't know something when they let
him go? And so I think that's their problem. And
now they're in the number one pick spot and they
should stay there because they probably won't win next week.
And if they're there, what do you do you stante
more Fernando Mendozer. In the battle for the number one pick,
one of those guys has to be the pick of
the Raiders, and the Giants messed up by winning. They

(48:18):
could have had the number one overall pick, and if
they had the number one overall pick, if they truly
believe Jackson Darter is their guy, then they could have
used that to trade and get a haul picks. And
yet they went out and won the game. So you win,
but you lose for winning in that situation.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
Yeah, the Max Crosby story is just it's wild how
obvious it is. They Pete Carroll comes out and says, well,
you know, we took a look at him. He was
hobbling to get on the team bus and we're looking
at him, and you know, we just made the right
call to send him home or to say he's not
going to play. He leaves the facility because he's pissed

(48:53):
off and then Max Crosby posts to social media later
on that day him moving around fine, playing basket ball,
hanging out with his daughter like everything, like to let
everybody know, Hey, this is a tank job. I want
to play and they're not letting me play, Like, I
don't know. Do you think does the NFL look into
this if the Raiders aren't being forthright about his injury

(49:15):
and he's at home basically saying, look, I'm fine, but
they won't let me play because we're trying to tank
so we can get the first pick, Like, do you
think the NFL looks into this? Because you know the
NBA's had problems with this, but it feels as blatant
as you can get with the Raiders and how they've
handled it.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
Well, the problem with looking into it is he probably
has played the last five game, six games with a
knee injury, and he probably does need some kind of
procedure on the knee so they can get around it
that way. The problem is, did you put the tape
on last week when he did play? I mean, he
was a monster against the Texans. He was unblockable, and

(49:51):
so how can they justify it that way? So I
get it, but the reality is is it probably not
going to get much of anything coming back on him
in March, part because he probably does need some kind
of procedure done on his leg. So the reality is
he's hurt. He could have played through it, and they packed,
even if they would never admit it crazy.

Speaker 2 (50:09):
We've had a long conversation about the Stillers and the Ravens.
It's clearly going to be a big topic this week
because they're going for the divisional title against one another,
yet the loser will not be in the playoffs. They'll
go home, and for I guess what it's worth, whichever

(50:30):
team loses that it's got to be considered a hard
disappointing year for that team. And then I think the
question still remains, is it still considered the same for
the team that advances if they're not successful in the playoffs.
What's your take on the current You know, I guess

(50:51):
state of the Steelers and the Ravens because I feel
like they're very interchangeable conversations with the season, the team
as well as the coaches.

Speaker 3 (51:02):
You know, about ten weeks ago when these two teams
were meriandering through the season, and you think one would
get hot and the other one was done and the
other one would get hot. You know, ten weeks ago,
maybe even longer, we said, ah, that division's going to
come down to the final week of the season when
the Steelers play the Ravens and you looked at and
people say, what are you talking about? Well, it always does,
and you know what it will in large part because

(51:25):
neither one of them are very good. I mean, if
you look at it, the Steelers without dk Metcalf yesterday
couldn't do anything. And you look at the Ravens. They
ran the ball and ran it right down Green Bay's
throat the other day, but their defense is awful right now,
and so you look at it and you go, who's
the better team? I'd say the Ravens would be the

(51:47):
one that could get fired in the playoffs if Lamar
Jackson is healthy and can turn and he gives the
ball to Henry. But the reality is they're like the
NFC teams. Is anybody not jockeying to be the number
five team and go play one of those too? With
the playoffs? I mean I'd rather play them for sure.
So and the other part of that is is Lamar
Jackson playing this week. You know, I had the back injury.

(52:09):
What was it back bruise? You missed the game for
a back bruise, And so that you're starting to hear
rumblings out of Baltimore. There was a story last week
by Mike Preston about how they're tiring of him not
training at the facility and he needs to take better
care of himself. And so I think there's a lot
of stuff at stake in this game. Is it Aaron

(52:30):
Rodgers last game? It has everything the NFL wants. We
were joking around watching the game yesterday, the Steelers game,
saying well, if the NFL can do anything in their
power to make them lose that game, they would because
they want that game at prime time. That's what they wanted.
They wanted Marque game and one now they got one.
So I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be
ugly football, and I don't think the team that wins
it really can go on a run. But if you

(52:52):
had to ask me which one could possibly go on
a run to the two of them, I would pick
the Ravens. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (52:57):
Pete Prisco with us year on Fox Sports Rady for
those that aren't for million and we talked about this
a little bit earlier, but if you're just joining us,
it was Mike Preston of The Baltimore Son who wrote
an article talking about Lamar Jackson, you know, sources saying,
you know, he stays up late playing video games and
falls asleep during team meetings, and you know he's not.
You know, they've changed the practice times and John Harborough's

(53:20):
kind of growing tired of it and it's worn out,
it's welcome a little bit like that just feels like
and I was saying this earlier, Pete, that feels like
it's a little bit too specific for it to just
be nothing, that it just was made up at of
thin air. And from what I've heard, you know, Mike
Preston's pretty connected, and it's not He's not just making
stuff up, even though John Harbord dismisses it. Where does

(53:42):
that report and those details land with you as somebody
who's been in this business a long time.

Speaker 3 (53:48):
Oh, I've known Mike Preston a long time a long time,
and Mike Press is not going to just make that up.
That's not what he is as a journalist. So he
got that from people inside the building, and it obviously
is an issue. Look, you know Lamar Jackson throws it
in the off season. He comes down to South Florida,
down here and throws at parks with his buddies and stuff.

(54:08):
You can't you got to be around a facility. You
got to take care of yourself. And and so that's
that's something I've never quite grasped. And you know, I
was talking to Fred. One of the guys told me
Fred Warner of the forty nine ers trains year round
at the facility. You know, he doesn't go These guys
go to these facilities and LaVar you know all about them.
They pay big money to go train at the you know,

(54:30):
these facilities in South Florida, and they get together and
work out down there. When you can stay with your team,
train with your own trainers, take advantage of your your
free food and free you know, nutrition, and deal with
your nutritionists. Why would you not do that if you're
if you're like Fred Warner, goes, drives to the facility

(54:50):
every day, works out there, gets some advice from the trainers,
knows what he has to do to train for his job,
and you know, eat all their food. And these guys
leave and go scurry all over the country and pay
big money to go train with trainers who have no
idea what it's like to train for football. So I
don't know. I just think sometimes we overthink it and

(55:10):
Lamar Jackson needs to be more focused and stay around
that facility.

Speaker 4 (55:13):
Moore, has he done like, has he hit his ceiling?

Speaker 2 (55:17):
Of all the quarterbacks around the league that you would say,
you know what, they had a good run, but maybe
they hit their ceiling, where does where does Lamar Jackson
fall in that category?

Speaker 3 (55:29):
Well? His is different in large part because he's improved
as a passer, But we still got to admit the
big part of what he is is his ability to
move around, and it's the threat of him to run
and the threat of him to help open up the run.
And so far since he's been back from his injuries,
he hasn't been able to run like he did. He
hasn't been he's been reluctant, his speeds have been down.

(55:51):
And so when you take that away from him, what
is he as a quarterback? He's a small guy that
can make plays in the pocket and he's gotten better
at it, but he's not great at it unless he's
got the threat to run. And so that's the concern
with Lamar Jackson. If I were him, I would reinvent
myself and become a fitness guy who you know is

(56:12):
focused on the football and not playing video games, if
that's indeed true, and and take care of yourself is
stay around the facility and be more more present with
your teammates in the off season and go from there,
because right now the injuries have become a major factor
for him. He's not a big guy. Let's not forget that.
He's not a big guy.

Speaker 1 (56:29):
And also, like it seems like he's got the flu
every week, like he like there's a practice he's he's
got the flu, like it. I think he's in this
like seven straight Wednesday practices at this point. It just yeah,
it just feels like there's a there's a lot going on.

Speaker 3 (56:42):
Well, if you have if you're if you're if you're
saying you have the flu and you don't sleep all
night because you're up playing video games, isn't that right?
Yuh for you?

Speaker 4 (56:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (56:49):
That's yes, that Yeah, that's what you know. Who needs
chicken noodle soup when you can just play you know,
call of duty until for that.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
And we don't I mean, look, I might press him
a damn good reporter, so I kind of, you know,
trust his sources on it. But if again, we don't
know if that's true. But if it is, it's just
a bad look for a franchise quarterback. It's just, you know,
is it better than he's out, you know, getting bombed
every night running the streets and getting in trouble. Absolutely,
But the good side of this is if you're staying

(57:16):
up all night, you're not getting asleep and your habits
aren't great to come in and practice hard every day.

Speaker 1 (57:21):
Are the Bills a viable Super Bowl contender?

Speaker 3 (57:24):
Well? One good thing that came out of it, and
I don't know how we take this. One good thing
they came out of the game on Sunday is this
they played good defense. But is that because they played
good defense because the Eagles thing on offense or they
actually showed up and played good defense. I mean, it's
something something has to give there. But look, with Josh
Allen playing quarterback, of course they're a viable Super Bowl
contender and they can get hot in the moment, and

(57:46):
if their defense can play like that, sure they are.
Now I don't know if they can or is that
just because the Eagles are so bad on offense right now.
They did dominating. Do you realize the Eagles didn't have
any yards passing in the second half, none, zero, not
one completion. And I think that's the second game that's
happened for them. And one of our guys had a

(58:09):
stat last night. I said, this the first time since
they started to keep in that stat in nineteen seventy
eight that a guy hasn't had completed passes in two
games in the same season in the second half. So
you know, but the Bill defense did show up and
play better, and I give them that. And if they
can play good on defense, they're dangerous to everybody. We
know Cook can run the ball. You know, Allen can

(58:29):
make those plays down the field and outside the pocket.
So I'd be careful of any team in the playoffs
in the AFC they're saying, oh, Bills might be, you know, vulnerable,
because I don't think you want to play them. In fact,
of all the teams that you have a chance to
sit at home and get ready to play, that's the
one I wouldn't want to play.

Speaker 2 (58:47):
I know, before we let you go, I was done,
but I just kind of thought about this. I never
got your opinion on DK metcalfs. The dude came out
and held a full out press conference about him not being.

Speaker 4 (59:00):
A racist or whatever.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
He's he's sensitive about animal rights and stuff like that
or whatever.

Speaker 4 (59:08):
But what what's your take on on that?

Speaker 2 (59:11):
Like him saying his kids are getting you know, threats,
you know, valent threats, you know, all kinds of different
I guess fallout and repercussions from what took place. What
what's your you know, what's your take on DK in
this this scenario. What what's your take on the fan
like the interaction of it all.

Speaker 3 (59:31):
The fans, the fans of jack ass. Okay, the fans,
shut your shut your mouth. You were trying to get
a rise out of him. You wanted that to happen.
You wanted something to happen. And now you're going on
a tour, the publicity tour. You're probably gonna file suit
against them and then and go from there. So fans
an idiot? Me Kay's more of an idiot for going
over and doing what he did. I mean, look what
happened to the Steelers yesterday. Technically you could sit here
and say, if the Steelers don't beat the Ravens on Sunday,

(59:53):
the dk metcalf stupidity cost him a playoff. Broth, Yeah,
because they had they had They had three catches by
Scotty Miller yesterday would led the team, and catches by
receiver yesterday. They were limited on offense in large part
because dk Metcalff is the guy to stretched the field
and get the ball down the field. Well, where was
he one playing? Because he was so caught up in
the moment that he had to go over there and
tug on a fan or slap him or whatever he

(01:00:14):
did because the guy said something about him, and so
dk Metcalff has to be smarter. But the fans of jackass,
he knew what he was doing. He was trying to
get a rise at him. He did it before, and
so that's a guy's a just it's mild to think
what he's doing right now because he's trying to take
advantage of the situation. He knew what he was doing.
It was all calculated. Chuck your mouth. Look, it's okay

(01:00:36):
to heckle players. I've done that before.

Speaker 4 (01:00:38):
Believe me.

Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
Back in the day, I used to heckle like crazy.
But don't get to the point where you're making it
personal and the guy's going to come over and give
you a slap. Now, we don't know what he said,
and it doesn't sound like it was anything racial. You
hope like it wasn't. But DK has to be above that.
And LaVar, you played the game. I'm sure you're plenty
of craft that you wanted to go up in the
stands and beat the day like that of a guy.

Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
I've heard some really really really bad I told the
story the other day Kansas City one year. It was
it was really really bad, Like it was bad the
things they were saying. To me, it's so bad that
you almost would ask yourself the people in between or
the people beside those people who were saying the viscenities

(01:01:20):
that they were saying, why, Like why wasn't something done?

Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
That's how bad it was, Like, shut up.

Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
The problem.

Speaker 4 (01:01:32):
I turned around to look good, good.

Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
God, here's the problem, because if you start opening your mouth,
next thing, you know, you're in a fight in the stands,
and that I wants that, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
I'm not letting nobody pull me out of my character
that way. I'm there to perform. I realize it's a
show and we are the actors in the show. I
realized that, you know, it's reality television, but nonetheless, you
play yourself in the show.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
So I get it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:56):
And I often wonder why why people are allowed to
holler out certain obscenities the way that they are, Like
I did get racial obscenities, hollered at me in that
moment in particular, and a ton of profanity. But you know,
I always said that where they're like, well, how'd you react?

(01:02:17):
How'd you re act? Turned around at first and it
was like come on, man, like it's it's a game,
Like like are you okay? Then as they kept going on,
I always I did this on the field with players
who would try to get me, but I would do
it with fans too. I'd always tell them their mother,
like like, if you're calling me all those obscenities, I'd
be like, ah, your mother is or oh your mother

(01:02:38):
is that, or ah, ah you're talking about your mom
Like I just always that was always my comeback, and
and so I didn't take myself too seriously. So I
make myself laugh by being like that probably hurt their
feelings or something. Maybe their mom is there.

Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
You should have said, look, you should have said, look, dude,
you're over there. I'm over here. But I guarantee if
you were here and I was right in front of you,
you would be saying that to my face.

Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
But I don't even I don't even you know, for me,
I ain't even take it. It wasn't that he if
he wants violence, it's never been that deep to me.
That's that's the thing about it.

Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
Like he wants an altercation.

Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
It doesn't that I don't because you know why nowadays
you have an altercation, somebody ends up there. You don't
want any mean right?

Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
Doesn't that?

Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
But doesn't that concern you even more?

Speaker 4 (01:03:23):
With DK?

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Like you know, if you watch the video, he's standing
there with a police officer. He's standing there talking to
a police officer. He clearly says something that has to
do with this fan because he he finishes the conversation
and then works his way over to the fan. Once
he works his way over to the fan, it's a

(01:03:45):
totally it's a total violent like act. It's an aggressive act.
Not that I won't say valent, it's a very aggressive act.

Speaker 4 (01:03:53):
And what it is that he needs.

Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
You don't even go over him. You gave him what
he wanted by going over there first and foremost. I mean,
whether he pulled his hair or hit him or whatever
he did to him, you would that guy. I don't
think that was the guy's seat either. If you look
at it, he's down like where there's a security person
behind him. He's standing hanging over the railing in the aisle.
I don't think that's where he was sitting.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
And so no one reacted to what the guy said,
So I don't think there was. He didn't say anything
crazy out.

Speaker 3 (01:04:22):
His mouth because he said he was making fun of
his real name, right, yeah, right, I'm not going like,
why are you going to grab.

Speaker 4 (01:04:29):
Somebody by their hand.

Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
It's like you remember when when Miles Garrett clubbed Mason
Rudolph over the head with the helmet and then afterwards said,
well there's a racial slur, yelled and nobody heard it.
Like there were people there and nobody heard it, Like
I don't. I don't think he said but the guy,
But that was still like there were people.

Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
My hecking back in the day was kind of fun,
Like I remember one time we went to a baseball
game here and we had a few afternoon in the
spring training and the Braves were playing down in Fort
Lauderdale and Ozzie Virgil was a player on the Braze
back then, and he struck out and he was walking
over and I'm like, hey, Azie, you know any realtors
in Richmond, because that's where they're triple agents.

Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
That's rupete. Yes, I was trying to make the team
got to you gotta clown them like that. You ought
to be ashamed of yourself. Hey, let me ask you
this before we let you go. We're going to be
talking to you next Monday. It's Black Monday yearly tradition.
That's not good news for coaches in the NFL. Do
you have one or two potential surprising coaching casualties that

(01:05:31):
could take place on Monday?

Speaker 3 (01:05:33):
I don't know if surprising surprising is the word, but
you know what if the Bucks don't make the playoffs, Yeah,
there's one. I mean, if they don't make the playoffs,
I think Todd Bowles could be in trouble, even though
he got a contract extension last year. And then you
know what happens with Zach Taylor. I think that's another
one to keep an eye on as well. You know,
they keep saying that they're not going to fire him,

(01:05:53):
but we'll see. Yeah, So I think those are two.
You know what happens with McDaniel, they wanted to keep them,
made a little run, went rotten for a couple of
weeks anyone again, so I think ultimately they might decide
to keep him. The bad news with that, though, they're
going to hire a general manager. So if you hire
a general manager, you're stuck with Mike McDaniel as your guy,
at least for a year. I mean that that's that's

(01:06:14):
a tough situation to take over a job unless you're
one of his guys. And then the reality is, if
you're hiring a guy that likes Mike McDaniel, you're not
hiring might not be hiring the best guy for the
organization to run it. So I think they have a
problem in Miami if they keep them.

Speaker 1 (01:06:27):
Get him on X at Prisco CBS. He is Pete Prisco,
senior NFL columnists for CBS Sports, CBS Sports HQ analyst.
Always a good conversation here on a Monday, Pete. We
appreciate it. Happy Brady.

Speaker 4 (01:06:41):
Oh, come on, don't do that, Pete.

Speaker 1 (01:06:43):
I don't know, Pete, don't don't draw attention to that.
Come on, Pete, ask him.

Speaker 4 (01:06:50):
Is the great p Prisko? Why do you do that? Radio?

Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
