Speaker 5 (01:40):
Why not has got some red light therapy going working man?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
That's right, baby, it's working. What are you putting it
on my ass? My lower back?
Speaker 1 (01:51):
It's got it on the chair lower Yeah, he gets tremendous.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
I mean I lay on it everything, you know. Yeah,
everyone's into that now, supposed to help with everything. It works.
Speaker 6 (02:01):
I'm telling you, like all sorts of stuff. Bro, I've
been feeling different. I've been able to straighten up so
am I.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Oh you're not doing that old man walking It's.
Speaker 6 (02:10):
I've been straightening up, man, I know that might paining
you that I might be walking straight and uh, you're
going to Houston. Huh so yeah, so yeah, I might
be walking straight home over erect this.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
The music thing sometimes is LeVar asked these questions and
I'm like, he's like, well, why do you go last year?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
It's like we had a baby.
Speaker 6 (02:34):
You know, I can't keep up with your calendar, bro.
I mean, I'm sorry you might think that I can.
There's some people that believe me keep up with your calendar.
I'm not one.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
So congratulations on the baby.
Speaker 6 (02:46):
But yeah, so I was I'll be walking upright, most
likely in Houston and definitely at the super Bowl. I mean,
if this this holds up, I mean it's holding up
right now. So I think you look great. H thank you,
thank you, thank I'm embracing currently. What is one of those,
(03:07):
uh those life events or you go on a family
vacation and while you're there, you realize that you're just
not going to sleep because we've got a toddler and
an infant that are just going bonkers throughout the entire night.
So it's been quite the adventurous twenty four hours to
try to figure out that situation. But I love that
(03:27):
it's always great because everyone else is having a great time.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
So that's all it's about, you know, that.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Time of the year, one of those family vacations for
everybody else.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yes, exactly.
Speaker 6 (03:37):
You can't complain about the actions and the deeds that
you know got them here, you know what I mean,
like they're here. Can't even complain like, oh.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
I'm not complaining about Okay, that's why I said I'm
embracing good.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yeah, what is this definitely wonderful journey.
Speaker 6 (03:52):
Yeah, And that's what marriage is for, you know, because
then you get that that opportunity to kind of figure out,
you know, who's who and what what.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
You know.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
I'm one of those people though where like I don't know,
I love being a dad and like having an infant
that's like up all night.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
There's times though, where they just they give you this look.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
Or they'll start like you'll I'll try to like lay
down in bed with them to try to get to
go to sleep. And there's times where they just start
playing with you, and you're like, all right, this is awesome.
I can't really be that upset about it, Like this
is actually a lot of fun. But then It ticks
off my wife because she's like, well I was never
going to go to bed and like, well, you know,
it's just it comes with the territory.
Speaker 6 (04:27):
They'll only be that age one time. Man, and the
crate well you got enough to know. But they grow
up so quick, man, Like I almost got I did.
I got emotional, like, man, my baby is like big.
Now she's big, like she's not my last kid is
now big. She's big, Like she's as tall as she's
(04:53):
I think she's going to be taller than everybody. I
think because she's as tall as so Marley the oldest,
her six foot Lailah's five ten, Mom is five, well
six foot, she's six foot so, and she's like the
same height as them. She's literally like the same height
as them. And she's ten. She's ten.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
Hold on, man, hold on, I just got this photo
of your red light therapy. Yeah, dude, you're supposed to
do it to your skin.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Yeah you can't.
Speaker 6 (05:24):
It works through your sweatshirt. It will work through your
sweats I looked it up. It will, but I do
do it through my skin. I can the light, so
it's just that it's not like infrared.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
I don't feel yeah, it does.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
I eat you.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
It looks like tron.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
So you're doing you're doing just for the heat. I
can actually no the light, the light to get you.
It'll get you. Yeah, yeah, I don't. I don't know.
That's a claim. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (05:50):
I don't listen. I use it every time I sit
down anymore. I use it in the car. If I
can plug it in, I use it. I use it
wherever I'm at, everywhere I go.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
And you look so excited and happy in the photo.
Speaker 6 (06:02):
Yeah, because it works. It's working, like I haven't had
the back pain. You should try to put on your skin.
I do when I'm home. I mean, I'm not going
to just put it underneath my it's big, like sleep
I see it. But you could sleep on You could
sleep on it with with like night clothes on.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
You can.
Speaker 6 (06:23):
You can wear clothes and still get the therapy. It's
just being on it good to travel with. You know,
there's that you're looking at it. I don't hear your fingers.
You're looking it up. I looked it up. Oh buddy,
I'll work with a makeshift deal here.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
I was about to say, I didn't hear any fingers.
I usually hear fingers after that, I'm.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
Probably gonna have to move locations at some point during
the show, surrounded.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
By the let's just uh, I mean, if if we're
going to go down this road, let's just go down
this road all the way.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
I mean, we've done shows and worse. And I'm not even.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Talking about the broom closet that you guys did the
show on.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Iowan, I'm talking about I did the show in Uh.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
One of us was going to have to do it.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
I ain't want to be true, we had another we
had another connection to that same comrades.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
You chose to go in there.
Speaker 6 (07:15):
Yeah, I know, I know, I know. I didn't want
you to have to be in the back. You know, No,
neither of us had to go there. We had a
comrade that could work for two mice. You chose to
go there. No, it wasn't working. The second mic wasn't working.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Remember, No, that's because we have the levels turned up
on it.
Speaker 6 (07:31):
I assumed that it wasn't working, and that that was
why I went back there. Otherwise I would have came out.
I came out every break. I know, you're you're a
hole for that, I mean, what are you laughing?
Speaker 3 (07:43):
At me. I didn't know I was supposed to be
in closet. I wouldn't have closet. Look the real a holes,
Iowa Sam. But that's true, you didn't know where we were.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Yeah, yeah, that's I can't even one of the most absurds.
It's is the final show of the year in this
time slot.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Uh, it is good.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
It is good for us to point out one of
the most absurd things ever said in the history of
the network is Iowa Sam trying to tell two people
where they were located when he wasn't even there, literally
was not there, and was arguing on the air about
where you guys were located.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Like Sam, wouldn't they know? No, no, no.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
You weren't there. That just makes sense, And he was.
He was steadfast. He would not let it go. It
does text me the day about it. It just scatters it.
So you're right, it's more effective when it's on your skin,
but it is still effective, just not as effective.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
It looks cool. It does look cool. Yeah, funny.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
You just got to come to me with this stuff,
like I'm into all this stuff.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
We've had red lights stuff for a while now. Yeah,
it helps with like skin conditions to one of my
daughters has like a skin thing that she was dealing
with and helped lot with that.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
So if anyone's out there's dealing with stuff, I must
send everything, especially at the stuff you get from Vegas.
You know what I'm saying those listeners out there, I'm
not saying that it's getting rid of that.
Speaker 6 (09:04):
You gotta go some other stuff you gotta go. Don't
you be saying, uh, you gotta go see a doctor
for that. Yeah, well they will give you an antibiotic.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
From what I hear, yeah, most people just go get
a sea pack.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
Oh yeah, but that's a biotic, right, that is the
pack is an antibiotic, right, that's that like hopped up antibiotic.
You know, you don't have to take it for so long.
It's like just got the days. Like from what I hear,
like you gotta take like first day you take like
six of them, second day you take like four and
then it works.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Yeah, right, did it work for you? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:43):
I think I had like some uh like throat like
some bad buddy items.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Like the dug coming off that conversation that is.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Like what are we like?
Speaker 3 (10:00):
You know?
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Not not all throat infections are caused by the same same stuff.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
I just want to point that out.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Of red lights.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Yeah, if you ever wanted to try an Olympic and
Paralympic sports, try fencing. It's fast, it's safe, and it's
easy to start near you at USA Fencing dot org
slash try fencing. That USA Fencing dot org slash try fencing.
Speaker 6 (10:20):
They probably flashed red lights in Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
But god, it's got to be it's got to be
maddening to be a Falcons fan to just think about
all the potential that is there and somehow, some way.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Just middle of the pack, mediocre, seemingly every year. But
they did hold onto their lead. They did hold onto
a lead last night.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
Which is nice. They had a bunch of injuries this year.
The starting quarterback Michael Pennox isn't there. Drake London missed
a good amount of time with a knee.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Injury this year.
Speaker 5 (10:53):
You know, Pits Pitts, to me, has been the one
piece of their that equation that's always the most frustrating
because you wonder, like, why has he not been the
player that he could be?
Speaker 3 (11:05):
When you see.
Speaker 5 (11:06):
Him and you watch him move and everything else, and
you see, you know a couple of weeks ago he
played phenomenal versus Tampa, and you're like, dude, why can't
he be that every single week? And the reality is,
if like the Falcons coaching staff knew, if anyone knew
who's had a chance to be around him, they would
have him playing like that right now.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
But Bijon Robinson, who dude, he is.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
I don't want to I don't want to be hyperbolic,
but like he to me is like the reincarnation a
little bit of Ludanian Tomlinson. And I was thinking about
this the day. I'm like, lt never got as much
credit as he deserves for the production and just how
good he was. And I don't know if it's because
he made everything look so easy, but as far as
(11:49):
catching the ball, running the ball in the backfield, like
being a true like effective dual threat back, Bijon is
like his reincarnation of that in a way. As far
as productivity, he ripped.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
That run last night and it looked like he was
in like there were three other levels he could have
gotten to is from a speed standpoint, and just totally
breezed casually, just kind of cruised down the sideline. I
think Troy Igman even made the comment, you know, not tonight,
meaning nobody's going to catch him tonight, and he just kind.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Of casually started geeking out over him.
Speaker 6 (12:21):
Man, he gave reincarnation Barry like he is, like this
kid looks like Barry Sanders.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Well, because Raheem Moore said it earlier this year that
he thinks he's the best all around player in the league,
and it's hard to argue.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
Man bro I had to and two of their games
this year and watching all the tape leading up to it,
the just his vision, the way he sees the backside
cuts and then in like a very effortless manner, gets
to like four or five gaps from where he was
originally intended.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
It's incredible.
Speaker 5 (12:57):
And then you watch people always call it like contact
balance he averaged and granted this is like a week ago.
Now I'm sure it's even past this number. He was
averaging two and a half yards after contact. Like think
about that for a second. Like his average after contact
is literally damn near what you need just to get
a first down. You give it to him four times,
(13:18):
Like I don't I don't think people understand like how
productive he has been so far.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
In his career.
Speaker 5 (13:24):
And like he's just now I think getting to the
point of his what his potential is.
Speaker 6 (13:30):
I thought it was interesting that they beat the Rams.
I really do, I really did. I thought it was
interesting and it made that division so so so, uh,
I guess intriguing going down the lane. Tampa's going to
get eliminated. They have to do they have to win.
Do they have Carolina?
Speaker 3 (13:50):
They have to win.
Speaker 6 (13:51):
Maybe to Tampa has to be as to the winner
next week goes the win the division.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
I believe, Yeah, I think I could be Is that right?
So because.
Speaker 6 (14:03):
Carolina is up, they would be three to one. I
almost feel like effectively Atlanta, you know, they erased Tampa yesterday.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
I think I could be wrong, but I think that win.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
So the way it works is if so Atlanta beat
the Ram, or so the Falcons beat the Rams last night,
if they if Atlanta beats New Orleans in week eighteen,
and the Bucks beat the Panthers, it would create a
three way time the division, which and the Panthers would
whip the time in that scenario based on their head
(14:40):
to head record between the three teams.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
So basically they eliminated Tampa.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Well, no, because if Atlanta needs to beat New Orleans,
and if Atlanta beats New Orleans.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
And then Carolina has to beat.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
And the Bucks beat Carolina.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
Right, and that's the base of Carolina wins. It's a
rap anyway, Yeah, yeah, okay.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
Which is no gimme based on how their season's gone.
They've been like a roller coast up one week, down
one week.
Speaker 6 (15:12):
But if Tampa beats Carolina and Atlanta loses, what, they're
still out.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Tampa's in.
Speaker 6 (15:20):
Yeah, Tampa's in, which, by the way, that's I mean,
there's a great chance do Orlans could win that game.
Speaker 5 (15:26):
Tyler Shuck's playing phenomenal. A lot of people wrote him
off after trail.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
It looked good.
Speaker 6 (15:34):
But Tennessee beat Kansas City the week before, right, yeah
without a home Well, of course, different team would say, yeah, different.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
The NFC South is bonkers. I can't even like, I'm
so tired of it. I'm just tired. I can't figure
it out. I'm just I'm just tired of it like
that from ours? Is that why it's it's week to week?
What the f and Tampa Bay and we were talking
to Pete Prisco about this yesterday, like, hey man, what's
what's going on there? Well, you know it's it's it's
(16:08):
the injuries, it's this and that. It's like, man, this
feels like and I know they're banged up, but it
feels like more than that. And maybe Pete was kind
of alluding to this yesterday, like I think Baker Mayfield's
more hurt than he's letting on, which we've seen before.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
That was his downfall in Cleveland his final year.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
He was banged up, and nobody really wanted to talk
about it until after the fact. And it's like, you
can't trust anybody that. That's why I have no idea
how this is going to go this weekend. I have
no clues.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
You can't.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Why would you want to? I don't let me somehow?
Speaker 2 (16:42):
You wrap.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
All right?
Speaker 5 (16:47):
Let me summarize the the NFC South though, if I'm
not mistaken, are the Are the Bucks one in seven
in their last eight?
Speaker 3 (16:55):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (16:55):
And they still have a chance to go to the playoffs?
Like how many divisions? How many division in the NFL
could a team go one in seven in their last
eight games and still have a chance.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
To actually win the division to go to the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
That's correct, that's your and they'll be whoever wins that
will be hosted. That's why we were talking yesterday. I'm
rooting for Carolina. I would like to see Carolina get
in just based on the fact that it would be
a good story and nobody expected them to be at
this spot. Nobody expected Dave Canalis, Bryce Young that crew.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
To be where they are with David Tepper, the.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Impulsive and got to be involved owner Tampa Bay feels
like the conversation that Albert Breer kind of threw out
a few weeks back about you know, Todd Bowles, maybe
he's on the hot seat. Todd Bowles calls his team
out and they've done nothing but not respond since he
called him out.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
I just it.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Feels like, if Carolina loses this and they're on the
outside looking in, you feel good about the season. If
Tampa loses and they're on the outside looking in, that
feels like there's going to be a change there.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Indep that is team. It's not necessarily wrong.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
I mean, I think they have really high expectations there
in Tampa, and rightfully so, although I don't know, I
feel like if you look at each one of the teams,
with the exception of probably Carolina, and they've dealt with
some injuries at times.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
But Tampa Bay's dealt with a slew of injuries.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
I mean that entire supporting cast a wide receiver was
very rarely all healthy together this season. As you noted,
Baker's you know, been playing a little bit banged up.
Vita veas Pete pointed out, didn't look quite the same.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
The holiday seasons got to It's Pete the only analyst
anywhere on the planet who called out Vita Vea's weighting
the issue.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
They looked a little fluffy, an wait, what.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
He looks heavy?
Speaker 2 (18:44):
You know?
Speaker 3 (18:45):
I was.
Speaker 7 (18:45):
I was texted him last night because you knew exactly
what the conversation was going to be a Falcons that
the Falcons lost no matter how Kirk Cousins played, and
I just texted him, I go, is tonight a big game?
He immediately got defend and started firing off text mess
his back try to just basically downplays.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Well, he hasn't done anything. What's he doing out there?
He's not doing anything. He looks like he should be
the starter.
Speaker 6 (19:13):
He's I mean, he's played in Atlanta back to some consistency.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Yeah, but but here's.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
The things like I'm not writing off Michael Pennix and
what he can be either, Like Pannis.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
Played some good football and was healthy.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
It's just he tends he's tend to be injury prone.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
Well, it's an average as as you mentioned, Joe, It's
it's an average division. And you know, I'm proud of
Carolina for being more than what I anticipated them being.
I mean, they let one get away against a pretty
good team in Seattle, but they've they've been pretty good.
(19:50):
Atlanta they're they're Doctor Jekyl mister Hyde as well. I'm
not taking that away from Carolina. They're they're hot and
cold as well. Uh in Tampa, I mean, I mean,
I think we kind of summed it up with Tampa
dealing with injuries, you know, and weight issues. I guess
it's just it's it's an average division. It's an average division,
(20:11):
and it's not very I don't find them to be
any more intriguing than the conversation of who's going to
get into the playoffs because they're going to be the
first one to go out. Anyway, it's average or they
below average there, they were worst division in their confidence.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Just think about that, because I had forgotten about it
until you brought it up. Just think about that. Of
all the reasons, he so, what's what's going on?
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Tampa? Wow, Todd Bowles lost the locker room? What do
you got? Baker Mayfield's injured? What about you?
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Mike Evans has been healthy all year? You over there
in the corner, he's eating beat a face fat.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
He's eating.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Eating a whole lot of barbecue during the holiday season.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
He's saying it too. It's just on another level.
Speaker 8 (21:00):
Like, of all of all the reasons, the only analyst
in America calls out de tackles weight being the issue
that they've lost seven of eight ridiculous.
Speaker 5 (21:11):
Pete is so ingrained in the uh the line of
scrimmage play just from his high school days play.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
He can't help himself. I mean it's the best.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Oh boy, well look well that was something last night,
and it was it was something.
Speaker 5 (21:28):
You know what else is something? Trainer games, guys, add
this to your bymch list. Athletes go head to head

should be.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
So this came out yesterday.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
There was a report that was put out on somebody
making a wise decision, and that's somebody is Marcus Freeman.
And also Notre Dame because according to Pat Forty of SI,
Notre Dame confirmed that Marcus Freeman has agreed to a
restructured contract. The terms of the deal were not disclosed,
but his compensation is in the quote top tier of
(25:50):
college coaches. A source says Freeman signed a six year
contract last year and this revised agreement adds one more
year to the end, extending him through twenty one. Good
stay away from whatever diaper fire the NFL's got opening
this offseason.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Just continue on there. Why the hell would you leave.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
When you can make a good amount of money and
be in a place that loves you as opposed to
someplace where they're going to try and turn and burn
you in two years in a disaster.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
It's the truth.
Speaker 5 (26:20):
Yeah, I mean, look, I think that's one way of
looking at I think the other thing that we've talked
about too throughout this entire process is control when you
go to an NFL franchise, you have multiple things potentially
work against you. You know, how involves the owner. Does
the owner know what he's doing? I mean those things,
And that's the first couple questions. I mean, do they
(26:41):
have the resources to support you the way you need
to be supported and be competitive? And when I say that, like,
we look at the NFL and roster construction, and oftentimes
we don't realize that the owners who have more cash
or are willing to spend more cash are those that
can build their roster better through free agency, because that's
what players want and that's how you work cash over cap.
(27:03):
So you're able to still be within the salary cap,
but you know, still be able to extend out players contracts,
you know, through signing bonuses and then putting on kind
of tagging on votable years at the end, which will
eventually it's still impacts your salary cap. But you also
have to have an owner who's okay on the times
you miss not just signing those guys and having the
cash to do so, but okay doing that knowing that
(27:25):
they're not all going to work out. So the NFL
is a completely different beast completely different animal. And there's
so many that you know, parts at play in regards
to how your job's impacted as a head coach in
college football.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
I mean, dude, you're there.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
You're the top of the list, and and outside of
you know, maybe a few other public figures like a governor,
like a in a state that you're in.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
I'm looking at Lane Kivson's situation. I mean, you're right
up there.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
Next to, you know, the governor as far as and
probably the highest paid state employee. I shouldn't say probably is,
but also just as far as the influence you have.
So it's good for Notre Dame, it's good for Marcus Framan,
it's good for that team that I think, you know
could have competed for national championship last year, this year
or did it coming up in twenty twenty six? Though
the quarterback back, they'll have still a number of pieces
(28:16):
on their offensive linel though a couple just declared for
the draft. Their entire secondary. I mean, this is a
team that will compete again easily for a national championship
next year. But I will ask you guys this, did
you see how they announced that he's coming back, or
how he announced what he said he don't like sent
out a tweet, right, Yeah, I said, let's run it
back in twenty twenty six, which I'll ask you guys, like,
(28:40):
should Notre Dame fans be concerned about life beyond twenty
twenty six with Marcus Rahman.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
I think it's just gonna be.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
This is gonna be part of the conversation every off
season with him.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
How well he's thought.
Speaker 6 (28:53):
Yeah, I don't think it's going That conversation isn't going anywhere.
Speaker 5 (28:56):
Better buckle up because let me let me ask you this,
because I mean, you have other really good head coaches,
Ryan Day, Kirby Smart. Doesn't feel like they get the
same attention for NFIL jobs. Maybe I am naive to
it because I am a Notre Dame alum, and I
remember hearing stuff about Ryan Day, you know, he was
looked at for some potential NFL jobs, But you heard
(29:19):
it a lot more with Marcus this year, and it's like,
it's nothing to take away from Marcus has done.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
He's twenty four and four I think the last two years.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
But Ryan Dan and Kirby Smart a damn good coaches too,
and they don't seem to get quite as much attention
or I don't know, maybe it's media about those interviews.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
I've always wondered that, like what makes and I think
we've had the conversation what makes certain coaches in college, Hey,
that could work at the NFL and what makes others
perceiving what makes the perception of the others that it
wouldn't work in the NFL? Or why are they not
talked about as potential head coaching candidates, Like I've always
been fascinated by that.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Because you look at Matt Even before Matt Rule.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Took the Panthers job, there was conversations, Oh, that could
make some sense, like that could work, and you've you've
heard it about other coaches, Kirk Farnce, Like there was
stuff about Kirk Farnce. And I don't know if it's
because they spent time on staffs in the NFL, because
Kirk Farrence was part of the Brown staff years ago
with sab It and Belichick and all that. But I've wondered,
why is it those guys. Is it just a product
(30:21):
of Marcus Freeman looks more presentable.
Speaker 6 (30:26):
I think there's something something there in terms of one
maybe the messaging that's being put out there by you know,
whoever it may be, agency, whatever it may be.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Maybe one two.
Speaker 6 (30:42):
I think that a guy like Marcus Freeman has a
lot of attractive qualities about what he could bring to
the table, and it does it checks off a lot
of boxes. I mean, it's a younger man's game. You see,
these coaches are getting younger. They they have certain certain
(31:03):
ways of how they're able to interact with with their
their players that I think is has become very very
I guess sought after it could be. Uh, you know,
I I think there's a very To me, I feel
like there's a very very intentional type of of kind
of movement as it as it applies to Marcus Freeman
(31:26):
and how that could become a pro it could translate
into a pro gig. But I don't think you're wrong.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (31:35):
I don't think I've ever heard of Ryan Day being
considered like, oh gosh, they won the national title. Da da, like,
here comes Ryan Day for a pro job. Having heard it, No, never,
I don't hear even right now. As to me, I
feel like Dan Landing is one of the hottest coaches
(31:56):
in college as well, and it's not a name that
comes up for for the I don't hear his name coming.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
Up for the pros. So it's interesting, right, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (32:04):
I mean I will say, I mean I didn't think
too much of it, but yeah, I mean, now that
you bring it up.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Sure, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (32:11):
By the way, Penn State just got an absolute stud.
The only problem is I'm not sure he's going to
be there that long because I think he's the next
like rockstar head coach m.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Danton Lynn Baby yeah, on his way from USC.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
I don't like him. I love him yet. First off,
you know where he plays you. This goes back to
the conversation we had when the Penn State job came open.
He was as far as a coordinator.
Speaker 5 (32:38):
He's at the top of my list on any program
that's looking for the next head coach that's like in
the Marcus Freeman, like Realm or mold Dan Lynn is
that guy.
Speaker 6 (32:48):
That's interesting. I remember him as a player, to be honest,
I remember him.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
I like it.
Speaker 6 (32:56):
I mean, I thought their defense vastly improved this year,
and it made sense why a couple couple of Penn
Staters transferred I guess now to to USC. But yeah,
I mean I saw the higher man is at home,
so I had an opportunity to talk to him. He
said that there had been some conversations, so he said,
everybody felt really really high about it, real real good
(33:17):
about it. So it seems like there's some really good
things going on at the school right now. It seems like,
you know, things have kind of stabilized and now they're
they're moving forward towards, you know, getting getting the coaching
staff solidified with proper coaches, and really trying to work
on the recruiting classes, like getting some recruits to come.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
What was the swag bag for the penstrap ball. I
don't know what you get, Like a Aaron Judge jersey.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
They got, they got New York.
Speaker 6 (33:51):
They got, they got game jerseys, pinstripe jerseys with their
ya the penstripe jerseys based on Jockstrat.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Yeah, that's not like a thing anymore, is it.
Speaker 6 (34:03):
I don't know, do you feel like you were at
the tail end of that. I never wore them, so
I don't I know you.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Didn't, But I'm saying like there was probably dudes you
played with.
Speaker 6 (34:12):
My lineback in mate Wart. And the weirdest thing is
our pants are see through, Like back then, our pants
were see through, so as soon as he starts sweating,
it'd be like Mac, like, what you doing, bro? Like
we're compression shorts, bro, Like, nobody wants to see your
butt crack the entire and I mean the whole crack,
(34:34):
not like coming not plumber crack through your pants crack like.
Speaker 3 (34:40):
What.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
I don't know, man, you know, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
I never could get into that.
Speaker 6 (34:47):
I could never get into jockstraps, man, Like they weirded
me out there. They so, and they used to make
you wear them and gym class like you'd have to
show your your your strap to make sure that they
knew you were wearing it.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
I'm like, what, like what hey? Man? You had to
do it. Grown up in PA was different.
Speaker 6 (35:08):
We had to Hey, we gotta be careful with that one.
I don't I don't like, I ain't gonna touch that
one with a foot pole.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
Yeah yeah, yeah, you had.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
Just take a drink and.
Speaker 6 (35:28):
Take a sip of my water out. I'm not even
going to have a comeback for that. It's just not
a it's not a go back and forth I'm going
to get into that's all. But you had to do it,
and you football too. You had to pull your jock
strap out to show that you had your dock strap on.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Our out piece, our coach strap, our coach.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Coach Hansen used to walk by because he was also
a coach on the baseball team and luminum bat and
you walk by and go cup.
Speaker 3 (35:52):
Check which one worse?
Speaker 6 (35:55):
Show me your strap or or pop it to make
sure you had to cup.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
In, Like come on, man, your cup.
Speaker 5 (36:04):
That was my own experience is like playing catcher, having
to wear a cup, to wear a basic kit jock strap,
and it was so uncomfortable like that that just I
was like that, I can't wait till there's an improvement
on this geez.
Speaker 6 (36:15):
And I've never improved it. It's just what it is.
It's just that's what it is.
Speaker 5 (36:21):
I'll tell you what, though, you've never gambled in your
life unless you've played catcher without without a cup, bro,
you felt like you were basically like riding a motorcycle,
no helmet, butt naked, like like, let's just see how
this plays out.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
It's going, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
I had to do it a couple of times right
in front of it.
Speaker 5 (36:45):
That was two of the most stressful times in my life.
And then it was like, all right, who's on the mound.
I prokay, he's good. I pray to God he can
make it all all seven in kid, if we've got
a reliever coming in with a lot of like junk ball,
the different things like this is gonna get dicey, you're.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Gonna miss miss high.
Speaker 6 (37:02):
Could you imagine if it hit though, Like that's that
I can't make a sound type of pa.
Speaker 5 (37:08):
Here's the thing is I caught up until like my
junior year of high school, and this is what I'll
say about that.
Speaker 6 (37:15):
It really it helps, but not that much. Like it
still hurts, dude, it would still hurt. I got kicked
one time and it was just like it was like yeah,
like there was not I couldn't get no sound out.
I couldn't get any sound out. And then they said,
(37:36):
there's like this old wise tale like they start like
trying to like you gotta sit on the ground, and
then they start bouncing you off the ground. I don't know,
because they might put them in your body, they might kick.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
The ball, kick the ball.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
I dropped down to the ground and my team weights
all right.
Speaker 2 (37:59):
I'm trying to shake alright, trying to get back there.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
You are, you know, what red light therapy could help
with that?
Speaker 2 (38:07):
Like, I didn't know that was a thing.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
Put the red light on it. They had to come
get me. That hurts so bad. Ooh, I got it.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
I gotta feeling like I got a fantom feeling.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
It's nice. It's not good man good feeling to get
hit there. By the way, this is the last thing
I'll say on the subject.
Speaker 5 (38:31):
My wife, we were like having this conversation about like
her having five kids and childbirth.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
And how painful it is. And I said to her,
I was like, you know, which would you rather have?
Speaker 5 (38:40):
Well, I didn't say which, I just go, it's interesting
because I understand this is much bigger conversation. But I
was like, you know, you're willing to keep doing it
again and again I go, I would never want to
get kicked in the nuts again.
Speaker 2 (38:54):
I've heard this discussion before and she's looked at me.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
Yeah, that's there, I go, I'll change the subject.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
No, yeah, but that's true though, they do choose the two.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
Right.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
Hey, thank god for Sesame Street. I'll tell you that
I didn't helpe raise all of us, and now it's

Speaker 1 (39:36):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here coming

from now, somebody has responded to a major story that
we've discussed on this show over the past week in
the world of football. They have responded in a big
time way. We'll get into that for you right here
(39:56):
on FSR. Before we get to another edition of In

Speaker 4 (40:13):
Sometimes you can't get to everything in the world of
sports or entertainment. Good thing, the guys are here to
bring you in case you missed.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
It, And for that we turn it over to our
executive producer, the one and only Patrick Sweeka.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
Honey spe what happened.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
Cowboy?
Speaker 3 (40:34):
Out of our out.
Speaker 10 (40:41):
Lord Well and Casey missed the time? Everybody var Jonas Brady.
Glad to have you all in today. Let's get it
done here. So for in case you missed it, we're
gonna go college footboo, college football, college basketball. Pardon me here.
So here's a little dicey one. A player named James
nu was formerly from Baylor, went to the NBA in
(41:04):
twenty twenty three, was the thirty first pick so of
second round. Now apparently on the Christmas Eve they sent
word to Baylor that he's going back to college to
go play back for Baylor, and college basketball is not
very happy.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Dan Hurley now.
Speaker 10 (41:21):
Actually just recently says we need a commissioner because he's
complaining about it.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
Now, Wow, can he come back and win?
Speaker 6 (41:28):
Like?
Speaker 3 (41:28):
Is he gonna make them better? Is that what it is? Good?
Speaker 2 (41:31):
You can always go back. I got one year eligibility left.
Speaker 5 (41:36):
Here's my question all this, It does seem like the
NCAA now is scared to rule on any of this
because they've.
Speaker 3 (41:44):
Lost every single time this gets challenged in court.
Speaker 5 (41:48):
So we find ourselves in this situation where like, couldn't
a big basketball program bring back an NBA player now?
Speaker 6 (41:54):
I mean, I mean, now you have bidding wars against
the pro was right? He got You're six seven man.
Speaker 5 (42:03):
You can't bring back like Jonas' favorite Christian Leaener.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
That's right? Or Zion Yes? I agree? Sound back, I
mean bring him back?
Speaker 1 (42:12):
Yeah, Cory mcgetty, Corey mcghetty, why not a lot of options?
By the way, John Calipari said, I don't care if
you're from Russia. You can't play college basketball if your
name was in the draft, right,
