Give this part.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio for a.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Whole week and a Cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio Slacker.
I mean, I like Soundgarden. It's just this is one
of my uh it's dat further down on the list
of favorite Soundgarden songs.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
Had this conversation last week, how many bands can you
name that have more than three?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Like it's like really good songs.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Oh that's a good uh.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
Because actually it's funny. It relates back to Salt and Pepper.
When that came up, my initial comment to someone was, well,
how many hits do they have after like Shoop or
whatever that one song was that Patty wanted? They have
like a couple others. But that's what I'm saying is
after you get to three, you're like, all right, do
they have a fourth or fifth?

Speaker 4 (01:27):
I mean, are we talking mainstream popularity, because there's there's
some bands that well, I'm just saying, man.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
He'd actould have been asked you the question. I don't
know why I tried to.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
I should have asked specifically, Push. It was a major
album for Salt Pepper. Before we go to that, that's like,
that's the second good song.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Push. It was a super big one. Shoop was a
big one. That's two.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
What a man was was it was a good one.
And after that, like yeah, after that, it's kind of
like whatever, you.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Know, But that's that's the case with most bands, Like
most bands have three hits, than after that you're like,
all right.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
New addition. Now, on the other hand, new addition, they
got a ton of hits, A ton of hits. Y'all
know about new edition. I might make new addition my
new one of my new songs.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Might there you go?

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yeah, they they got hits. Can you stand the rain?
Candy Girl?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Cool it now? Mister telephone man, huh was that when
Bobby Brown was dating when do you Houston? He left?
After that?

Speaker 1 (02:37):
I mean, you know, he wanted more you know, if
it isn't love, he wanted more love and respect from
what was going on with you know, because Ralph Treasment
was the main singer. But Bobby Brown thought he was
the king. He thought he was the king around there,
and then they that, you know, and then so he
just went and did his own thing, you know. Then
that was when he met Whitney.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
He was on the high.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
Literally, that's that is true.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Yeah, but they're they're back on tour again. Man, I
want to see them. I want to see them perform.
I know them, I've i've i've I've hung out with
them before. Super cool dudes, Ronnie de Vous and Mike Bid.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Did they compare to the drum bett hat drum.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
No, wasn't wasn't the same, It wasn't the same setup,
but definitely cool dudes. No one, no one will ever
be as cool as Jerome Bettist man like Jerome Bettis
was like, he took me under his wing, man, brought
you on stage, he did bell Biv Devot bought me

(03:44):
on stage. I actually was on stage with them while
they were performing. But yeah, I don't I didn't see
any of them flaunting the type of calf muscles that
uh that Jerome Bettis has or had whatever time. They
were pretty big calves. Yeah, strong, powerful calves.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
Speaking of big calves, yeah, felt hard knocks. Is there
an update there, John Well.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
I do have another another special update for you on
a previously uh dressed topic on the show.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
It is we needed some clarification on this.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
H you did tease it.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Yeah, so here we go, Like this, Brady, the old
update theme from Unsolved Mysteries, right, nothing like thirty years old?
Oh yeah, yeah, when they would update a story on
a on a burning body that I.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Remember like this part, not the beginning. You just played up.
I don't remember hearing that update.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
LeVar mentioned in discussing Tiger Woods and his Civil War
leg that he's walking around on. LaVar mentioned the Fuzzy
Zeller comments.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yes, yeah, yeah, I have the the exact quote here.
What's the exact quote, Zeller? What did he say? Of
course you would get the exact quote.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
In a nineteen ninety seven Masters interview.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Ninety seven. Now that was the year I was graduating
high schools.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Though that's been a while. Fuzzy Zeller said, you're going
to enjoy this go ahead.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
You pat him on the back and say congratulations in
reference to tiger yep, and you tell him not to
serve fried chicken next year or collar greens.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Or whatever the hell they serve. What does he mean
by they?

Speaker 4 (05:30):
So tiger Woods is families needed some clarity. Well, no,
the master's winner gets to pick this in.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
So I was worse than Fuzzy Zeller's because I had
a watermelon. I was just trying to make it as
egregious as possible.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
You had.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
You had a whole three course meal going on there.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
He just mentioned too, just too. Yeah, so there's your.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Collar greens is almost I mean, you got to put
that on par with watermelon though.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Right, and they're not great?

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Oh well, if they're done right, they're amazing. So gay
And I also think grits are vast overrated. Yeah, it
just depends on are you a sweet grits or are
you all.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
That's the problem. Jonas doesn't put anything in his grits,
which is is the issue.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
So yeah, true, tell me I'm wrong, You're not wrong,
You're not.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
It's like people probably would like oatmeal if you didn't
put something in oatmeal.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yeah, oatmeal. I will not eat oatmeal either, that'll end
up there. You make it taste better.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Yeah, I'm a buttery, salt and pepper grits guy. If
they're buttered, they're good. I don't like sweet grits. Read
the update music back up again. Uh, Fuzzy Zeller did
pass away in November of last year at the age
of seventy four, So I wonder I just want to

(06:54):
make sure we clarify that troud on the man's reputation
a long.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
I didn't because he said, you know, he was joking.
He got some heat for it. But I mean, but
do you think he ate collar greens and fried chicken?

Speaker 6 (07:08):
Tiger on his deathbit? Wasn't he a Perkins fan?

Speaker 2 (07:13):
I don't know. I don't know if they stir in
that turkey.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
I don't know Thanksgiving dinners there, I'm not sure I
was talking about Fuzzy. You know, it might have been
the coincidence or to irony of the fact that he
said it, and he probably liked collar greens and chicken.
I mean, it's a great it's a great combo, I
gotta tell you. And every once in a while, if
you mix some cabbage into that that some greens.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Fire man, I can't think of a better way of
segue into hard knocks than this right now. Yeah, let's
do it. Let's segue into.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
It over from that on over to this. Hard Knocks
is back, except with a twist. Because it used to
be where they would just announce one team. This year
they announced too. So we now know the two teams
in the Super Bowl, the Seahawks and the Patriots are

(08:07):
going to be in this year's Hard Knocks for Seattle
and next year's Hard Knocks for New England. And people
were asking the question, why would they announce the next two.
They've never done that before. Adam Schefter take it away.

Speaker 7 (08:24):
So the NFL has been asking teams to do hard
knocks and the answer says next year, we'll do it
next year. So what the NFL did this year when
the Neimle Patriots said we'll do it next year, they said.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
You're in.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
You've got twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 7 (08:37):
Congratulations, And so they take it the two Super Bowl participants,
the Seahawks this summer in twenty six, the Patriots next
summer in twenty seven, And they held their feet to
the fire.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
If you've got to do that to get somebody to participate.
Isn't that a sign that maybe we ought to move
off of hard knocks? Like if you've got to basically
trick teams into doing hard knocks because they don't want
to do it, nobody wants to do it, nobody likes it.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Can we just get rid of it? Like why is
this still happening?

Speaker 4 (09:12):
There's enough content out there, There's enough documentaries, there's enough
stuff out there that you could watch on the NFL
podcast streaming, Like there's all these different options out there,
and for whatever reason, they still shove it down everybody's throat.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
And I don't get it. I really don't understand.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
It's got to be HBO and wherever they're paying the
NFL for the rights of it, I mean, NFL Films
produces it, so the NFL has some sort of control
over what gets out what doesn't. Remember how we had
to do away with all the I mean really the
stuff that people watched for you know, as much as
we hate to admit it, part of the reality TV
to the actual show itself was seeing guys get cut,

(09:52):
was seeing guys' reactions, was feeling like you were watching
a real life interview.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Over the course of training camp, the stakes. You had
players who were.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
Either gonna make it or they weren't, and you got
to see behind the scenes how that was gonna work out,
and that grueling portion of the year where football players
are preparing themselves to go into it back in the
day sixteen games now seventeen game season, but that was
what it was all about.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Unfortunately, we had.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
To you know, dumb it down and we had to
cut out some of the drama because agents got sensitive
about their players and the players obviously didn't like it,
so then they wouldn't want to participate. So I just
want to know how much HBO is paying the NFL
to license these rights, because otherwise to your point, like

(10:41):
why are we doing this? I mean I also did realized,
you know, they used to pay players to be a
part of it, Like that's what make up to eight
thousand dollars for the series, the rookies to like two
thousand really just to be a part of it.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Yeah, I never heard of that.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
I didn't either, but I was kind of researching all
this and this dates back to like two thousand and one.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
That's crazy where they had to start incentivizing guys.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Why why, why is it so why are people so
resistant to it while you guys think they're so resistant
to wanting to do hard.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Okay, because I think what leads to my question I
was going to ask you guys, is it realistic?

Speaker 6 (11:17):
Is it still realistic?

Speaker 5 (11:19):
It's not realistic. You know, you're allowing someone else to
kind of shape the story for the drama. You don't
have control over it. And that's the truth is you'd
want all these teams, and you think about every head coach.
They want to control the messaging. So once you bring
in cameras and someone else has editorial control, it changes

(11:39):
things and they have to make a show out of it.
So they've got to over exaggerate or dramatize more.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Than they really need to.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Mm hm.

Speaker 5 (11:47):
That's that's the reality of it is. It's a it's
a distraction to every coach, every player. That's a part
of it. And unless you have direct control over what
gets out, you don't want them come and infiltrating your
your you know, your training camp, your room.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Sure, yeah, I guess that makes sense. I just I
don't know, it's interesting. I feel like anytime you could
why are you laughing at brouh It's still the way
you come up with this really walking on water sure enough?

(12:22):
You know, I just look at I look at any
opportunity that, like JJ Watt took full advantage of hard knocks.

Speaker 6 (12:31):
I think that's what turned me against it.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Really.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Yeah, see that's what I was like, guy Lee talk
about branding yourself and and and showing that you know,
this is why he's who he is, Like it was,
I thought it was an amazing opportunity for him to
build himself.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
I would always in my mind, if you had.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
These these situations which shows or or you know, like
the Sunday Show where they do the the spotlighting of
you and stuff like that, I thought that you were
supposed to do it, you know. I thought that it
made sense to do it because if you can gain exposure,
make sure you're you're doing what you need to do
in those moments that you get the opportunity to gain

(13:13):
that exposure. But that's just how I think a lot
of guys don't like being in front of the camera
or don't like kind of taking advantage of having those
types of opportunities. But if I'm on one of those teams,
I'm coming in with a plan. If they if they
you know, if they edit me out, like if I'm
not big enough or if you are a big enough name,

(13:33):
whatever it may be, if they edit it up and
it doesn't come out the way you want, then that's
that's a whole another I guess, a different, different conversation.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
But yeah, but do you need to do you need
hard knocks anymore?

Speaker 6 (13:44):
I just think it's run its course.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
When it was when it first came out, it was
fascinating to see behind the scenes how all this stuff
operated and how this stuff worked. But I feel like
there's so much content surrounding the NFL. You already know,
you already know what's what's happening, and you know, like
the Joe Shane how that played out with the Saquon

(14:07):
Barkley stuff.

Speaker 6 (14:08):
When that kime like to me, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
And John Schneider, who's the GM of the Seahawks, is saying, oh,
you listen, we'll embrace it.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
We're gonna have a good time with it.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
I'm gonna talk to Ryan Poles and these other guys
who are part of it and get their thoughts on it,
and like, why is it you just want a Super Bowl?
Why are they doing it? It used to be to
where there was this criteria that if you made the
playoffs a year before, you didn't have to your qualified
it was teams, you didn't have first year coaches and
all this stuff. And then within the last couple of

(14:36):
years they relax those rules because they couldn't get anybody
that wanted to be a part of it.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
And so now you've got the Patriots.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
They're like, hey, yeah, we get we'll do it next year,
and the NFL's forcing them into doing it because they
can't get anybody else to take part in it. And
if nobody else wants to take part in it, let's
just scrap the whole thing. What's the point. That's like
the Pro Bowl. You just keep rolling out these different
concoctions of whatever the new Pro Bowl is, and I'm
watching the one this past year, going this sucks. Why

(15:05):
are we doing this?

Speaker 1 (15:06):
I don't want to see the same game play about
the same people and they balling.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
I just I don't.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
I tried to make a competitive and that that uh
that Pro League didn't.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
There's there's enough look to say, there's enough coverage of
the NFL to where I think people now know sort
of how this whole thing works.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
And that's why I ask you guys the question how
realistic is it now?

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Because if if editorial control is handed out to where
you can manipulate how the story goes, it's just one
of these candy ass reality shows that you know, like
The Hills or Laguna Beach or whatever, to where they're
they're shooting three different endings to determine which one they want.
That's not a reality show. It's just I don't get it.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
I think the other thing is training camp isn't what
it used to be. It you used to be able
to see like the grueling.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
Process that was training camp, that the hitting, the pain,
you could feel that, you could sense it. And with that,
because it was more physical, came more emotions from it too.
So I think that's also what stored up some of
the drama, the fights, et cetera. You know, now you
get some fights every once in a while, but it's
not I mean again, it's it is what it is.

(16:18):
I mean, I just to your point, they jumped the
shark a while ago. I don't understand why I still
do it. I just I want to know the economic stuff.
I want to know how much the NFL is getting
paid from HBO for this to want to still keep
doing this that you can't find the number of whatever
it is.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
If I'm one of the.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
Broadcast partners, I don't know why i'd look at them
and just say, we can do this better, or we
can work with every individual team to you know, to
isolate those fan bases and come out with thirty two
of these instead of you know, for those fan base
as opposed to one for one team. I don't know,

(16:58):
it feels like there's there's some if you want to
keep doing it, there's probably something better there than what
they've got with this current model. Just it seems outdated.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
I think that would be a great idea. I mean,
and and listen, teams are always trying to figure out
ways to engage their their fan base. If you did
it in an impactful way through content, of course it
would be well received, you know.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
I just it's weird.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
It's like almost like Hard Knocks got such a horrible
you know, just a horrible reputation for one reason or another.
I don't I don't really know why, but I do
think that if you were to, if you were to
some way somehow figure out how to do it, by organization.

(17:47):
The organization were to be the catalyst of how it's done,
I bet you they would be more more into it, more,
you know, excited about doing it. You know, why wouldn't
you be?

Speaker 2 (18:00):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
I just I think anytime you're taking content to highlight
your your players, you're highlighting your fans and you know
things that you can kind of get people excited about it.

Speaker 2 (18:15):
I don't see why people have an issue with it.

Speaker 6 (18:17):
Do do players curse at training camp?

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Like?

Speaker 6 (18:21):
Is there like a lot of foul language at training camp?
Like around the flity?

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Sure? Because when the.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
Bears did it, they made sure that there was no
cursing on any of the episodes, Like they wanted to
make sure that it was neat and clean so that
families could also watch it. Dude, that's not a reality show,
all right. That it's now a TV show And if
you want reality, you're going to have to go elsewhere.

(18:48):
And that's why I look at it and go, all right, well,
then let's just script the entire thing, Like let's do
fake trades, fake fights, Like, let's just script the entire thing.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
It sucks, it doesn't work anymore.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
And you HBO's got a lot of balls.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
If they're paying a ton of money to the NFL,
then you got that kind of money to throw around,
why don't you bring back boxing? Okay, if you got
that kind of money to throw.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Around, the work twenty four to seven. Work with Box, of.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
Course, and they're great. HBO does great stuff. But hard
Knocks isn't one of them. It's done, and it was
the same format. That's where it came from, right, Hard
Knocks came from Box.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Maybe maybe this is maybe this is the fix? All right?
You bring back Harold.

Speaker 6 (19:29):
Letterman, Okay, Jim.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
You see we're watching him go to the body early
of the round, and then you see later in the
round he just kind of steps back and he takes
his foot off the gas. He can't do that and
expect to win rounds in a fight like this. I
got a thirty to twenty seven pack. You out with
the lead going into round four.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
Jim, Now, the unfortunate reality is you have to bring
back Harold let Himan via Ai because he's no longer
with us. But I do feel like if you could
bring better and even.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Know that ye passed away about seven years ago, but.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
How do you feel if you can bring back some
sort of like Harold Letterman like that sort of personality
seven years because.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
Who's the guy who does it?

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Now?

Speaker 5 (20:12):
The voice is iconic, but also it's it's to your point,
you need a little bit more to it.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
Oh, well, the guy who does the voiceover for Hard
Knocks is Leave Schreiber.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Ray Donnah.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
Yeah really yeah, that's who does it. Yeah, I thought
it was the other dude, Charles. That's a football Yeah,
that's yeah, that's yeah. What's his name, uh, from baltim Baltimre, Yeah,
he's from Baltimore. Yeah, Josh Charles, I think. But yeah,
Leave Schreiber does all the HBO voiceover work and he's

(20:46):
the guy from Ray Donovan. Interesting, Yeah, all right, wasn't
aware of that. Also, well he's well I was gonna say,
Larry Merchant.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Larry Merchant, Merchant, he's still still going ninety five years old.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
Larry might.

Speaker 6 (21:04):
Kick your ash.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Like, No, you wouldn't, Larry, You would not kick any
of them dudes' asses.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
You would not. Oh my god. Know, they need to
do something that's spice to them get things done.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
That's why up with that.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Yeah, it's horrible.

Speaker 6 (22:55):
It's a great song, horrible, no offense. This is the Wahlbergs, right,
they were in this this band.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
Is that.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
There's a bunch of boy bands? Yeah, I think there
was a bunch of boy bands. Yeah, by the way,
good Burgers.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Yeah, but Wallburgs weren't. Weren't.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Uh that wasn't Backstreet Boys, was it? That was the
Kids on the Block, New Kids on the Block, right,
A lot of boy bands. Man, dang, there were Nicholas.
She's killing it with his dating show man. That's all
I know them shows is killing it killer What was

(23:39):
he ninety eight degrees?

Speaker 4 (23:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Yeah, you know that.

Speaker 6 (23:43):
You're up on that game.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
I know who they are.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
I mean, they're they're talented dudes. For certain man, there
was a time his shorty was like the catch too,
like everybody's like, oh my gosh, he's he's with her.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
Well, he had the Speaking of reality shows, he had
the one with Jessica Simpson, and you could tell, you
could tell in watching that that wasn't for long.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
No, I wasn't going.

Speaker 6 (24:10):
Yeah, he seemed pretty worn out.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
He's an Ohio guy. He's from from Ohio, right, he's
from Cincinnati.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
Yeah, yeah, I believe maybe it was I don't know
if he was uh if you went to my Ohio
or just a USC I think he might have just
hung around Southern cal when he was out there, but
definitely from sin Cincinnati, Ohio. He's done a lot of
good stuff too in that environment for the uh for
like over the Rhine that area.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
I believe he's got a bar, restaurant something like that.
He seems like a good dude. Great dude, Yeah, great dude. Yeah.
Well I know this.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
We've got our fsri I R coming up here in
about fifteen minutes from now, And as always, we are
brought to you by DraftKings Sportsbook, the number one sportsbook
for live betting. It's built for March and right now
use the promo code two pros to claim your special
offer of DraftKings. Again, that's Promo Code two pro was
the DraftKings. The crown is yours. So the Philadelphia Eagles
take the crown of most miserable good franchise that I

(25:09):
think I've ever seen in my life. Here's the latest
on the drama surrounding Jalen Hurts, because there was some
stuff that came out last week on ESPN where people
have talked about, you know, Jalen Hurts again, you know,
players not you know, maybe big fans of his style,

(25:30):
the way he plays, he's you know, not wanting to
take risks to try and you know, have the offense
catered towards what he wants to do as opposed to,
you know, utilizing the weapons around him. So honest, like
the same old stuff we've heard about Jalen Hurts and
the drama coming out of Philly for a couple of
years now. And according to Jeff McClain of the Philadelphia

(25:54):
Inquirer and also Marcus Hayes, a columnist for the Inquirer, they've.

Speaker 6 (25:59):
Said that the Eagles have used the media to try and.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
Get through to Jalen Hurts that they've these stories that
come out that this may be from the Philadelphia Eagles
to try and get Jalen Hurts out of this whatever
he's got going on with Philly that is rubbing people
the wrong way. And this this from Jeff McLain quote,
Jalen Hurts knows this is the last year of this

(26:25):
guaranteed money. He knows the cat the cat's out on
some of his baggage. You've got to be able to produce.
You can't be near the bottom of the league in
passing two years in a row with the amount of
talent that we have. It's not acceptable. And it's everybody
saying it. From owner Jeffrey Lori on down. Everybody is
on the same page. So never mind the fact won

(26:49):
a Super Bowl, went to another one. They're in the
playoffs every single year. Never mind all that. Let's use
the media who gets from the f Philadelphia Inquirer.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Which means he is getting it from somebody internally. Right,
wouldn't we agree on that? Yeah, that's one hundred percent.
Like you're not just going like if you're Jeff maclain,
you're not going to report something random like that, like
that's coming from somebody.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
I don't care if it's the ball boy, it's coming
from somebody within the organization.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Yeah, we'd all agree on that.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
Yeah yeah, Well if that's the case, man, that is
some damning that that's damning.

Speaker 7 (27:31):
Bro.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
How are you not an ft up, like all the
way messed up organization when you're doing stuff like that,
like that's crazy. That's your quarterback, for one, you should
be guarding and protecting him, like heck, he's the crown
Jewels for one.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Right, then for two and then for two.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Even if if these things are true, which because I
can think back, you know, Peterson didn't really want to
playing right, He didn't play him that much to begin with.
He was trying to figure it out with with other
other guys, and I think it brought up the conversation
points of you know, why this, why that was?

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Why would you go in a different direction.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
I think he ended up kind of losing his job
off of it, right, Like he started another QB, wanted
to see what that QB could do, Like why do
you do these types of things? But I still feel
like ultimately the offsetting of it all is that they
have gone to the Super Bowl, and both of the

(28:35):
Super Bowls, Jalen Hurts played better than the best quarterback
in all of football and Patrick.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
Mahomes and split one one lost one.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
I think when you had that type of success, I
find that hard to kind of comprehend that you would
have such a hardline stance or you would actually allow
for somebody within the organization to put this out there,
because to me right now, it's propaganda versus it being
real life, real life criticisms of Jalen Hurts. Why let

(29:13):
this happen? Why not handle this internally? I just I
don't get it.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
It's hard to speculate from the outside what exactly the
issue is that they have with him or what he's
doing behind the scenes.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
I mean, at the end of the day, this league's
about winning and losing, and they're winning. You know, they're
in this.

Speaker 5 (29:30):
Window now where they've built up a roster, they've won one,
they've been to a couple now, and to your point,
like he's played really well in some of the biggest moments,
and I understand there's been frustration if you look at
the offense throughout the course of the year, especially for
Eagles fans.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
You know, they'll be the first to tell you, agent
how would be the first to tell you that.

Speaker 5 (29:48):
Being said, you're also switching out coordinators quite frequently. I
mean some who've hit become a head coach and some
who've been an absolute swinging a mess. So that to
me makes it difficult to really understand, you know how,
who you can point the blame at, and if the
point the finger too, I think you know, you also

(30:10):
have a guy in Jalen Hurts who to me, he
seems very calm, very poised. He doesn't get too high,
doesn't ever get too low. Maybe that rubs some guys
the wrong way. Maybe maybe, And I'm not I'm not
sure how that locker room receives it. And I don't
know how he conducts himself in the locker room with
other guys. From all my accounts I've ever been around
the young man, he seemed like a really, really good guy.

(30:33):
I would say the most volatile person is the head coach. Yeah,
So like I don't know how much that plays a
role in all of it. Where there is like a
yinging and yang to this, where I don't think you
can have two volatile people where it mix. Where there
were ones high ones Lowe. They're both high. It's just
you know, that to me is a recipe for a disaster.

(30:57):
So that's the hard thing about you know, hearing at
this or reading reports if they are leaking things out
intentionally because they're getting more often than not the results
they're looking for. I mean, this was a division that
really had a hard time finding someone who's I mean,
if you played in it, it was it was hard
to find a repeat division winner for years. And now

(31:20):
the Eagles look like that team that every single year
they're the favorite, they're the team you're expecting to win it, and.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
They're one of the top teams in the NFC.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
And you know, credit to Howie Rose been for the
roster he's built, but also takes challeng hurts kind of
playing and winning style of football. I understand the passing
numbers may not come along with that sometimes, but he
seldom puts the ball in harm's way, and he's been
able to find ways of getting the Super Bowls and
winning a Super Bowl. So it's just a bit surprising
me if this is true, this is the manner that

(31:51):
they would go about doing it. I don't understand why
people feel like they need to work through the media
in order to grab guys attention. Maybe they feel like
it's a different pressure point because having a sit down,
one on one conversation nowadays doesn't have the same effect
it used to. But I think there's other issues. If
you're just speaking specifically offensively, where you've got, you know,

(32:14):
an ever changing role at offensive coordinator. It feels like
a head coach who seems like at times could be
a bit volatile. And I'm not saying Jalen Hurts doesn't
have his struggles too. There's no doubt that the development,
it seems like, has stopped at a certain point, from
him playing from the pocket, from him being able to

(32:35):
throw the football consistently at a really, really high level.
But again, when he's had to step up in the
biggest moments, he's done exactly that.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
So I'm really not sure what to make of any
of this. I just find it strange.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
Listen, Sakwan almost had a record setting year in the
Super Bowl year.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
They said he was the missing link. They get him,
they go win it.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Everything is justified all as well, what are we blaming
Saquon's fall off?

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Four?

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Oh, now he's over the hill. He only had one
good season in him. I think it comes back to
what you said earlier Q, that you've changed, you changed coordinators.
If you had something that was working, then you hold
on to it. You don't let that go because you don't.
There's no guarantees that you can find what it was

(33:32):
that you created with the person that you created it with.
It just doesn't it's not it doesn't always play out
like it did with.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
The New England Patriots. It isn't just you know, fill
it in, do your job. We keep winning.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
Like if you get somebody who's good at what they're doing,
you won the super Bowl with this guy, you keep them.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
I mean, look at what happened to the Detroit lines.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
You know they I mean they tried to be better,
they tried to be okay, but they just weren't okay.
You lost two of your coordinators and Ben Johnson showed
that he is legit by what he did in Chicago.
So to me, I just I find myself it's curious
because probably isn't you know, Jalen Hurts probably isn't void

(34:24):
of any like like, he probably is liable for some
of the things, some of these things, some of it.
But should it be playing out in the media for
one and two. How much of it should be at
at Jalen Hurts his feet when the whole entire team
took a step back. I mean, you had a Hall

(34:45):
of Fame center who was probably a leader, good, good guy,
probably to be around. He leaves, you know, you who
was the guy on the defensive side of the ball.
They ended up bringing him back. But Brandon gm Brandon Graham,
if you had some leaders you know, step away, it
wasn't the same team either.

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Now have you still have the talent?

Speaker 1 (35:08):
You still had the talent at the receiver position, You
still had the talent at the running backs position. There
should have there should have been more production out of
Jalen Hurts, but there should have been more production out
of this offense. And I just wonder, is the blame
getting placed at the wrong at the wrong person. Is
it being thrown at the wrong person here?

Speaker 4 (35:30):
If you were to, like just without knowing the team,
if you were to say to anybody, all right, so
here's what a four year window is going to look
like for you. You're gonna go fifty and eighteen, You're
gonna go to two Super Bowls, and you're gonna.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
Win one of them.

Speaker 6 (35:44):
You happy with that?

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (35:46):
Not in Philadelphia, No, they're not.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
No, then in Philadelphia they're gonna go to the media
to try and get their quarterback.

Speaker 6 (35:53):
To pay attention because apparently nobody likes them as that.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
They would be happy if they got at least one
playoff appearance, one AFC Championship game out of Deshaun Watson
out of that team, out of that roster they had
the Bear Bears.

Speaker 4 (36:10):
The Bears hosted a playoff game, and they're building a
statue out in front of Soldier Field. Now, how about
in Philly. Yeah, the statues got fingernail, Paul, it's miserable.
Everybody's miserable. I don't understand.

Speaker 6 (36:25):
But all right, story goes and continues in Philadelphia.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
That's not good though. That's definitely not good man. And
and for them to have maintained I mean, granted that
Philly does deal in drama sometimes. They it's not like
they've not ever had drama. I mean even you know,
back to when t O was in his driveway and
stuff like that, Like they still win, they still win,
they do well in drama. I mean that's just kind

(36:50):
of how the city culture is too. They do well
in drama, but it's not good. If things go bad
this year, We'll look back at times like this when
it was in the you know media, the way it's been,
and we'll we'll reference these points. As you saw the cracks.
You saw the cracks taking place, and they got bigger
and bigger. And look at what we're looking at now.

but the fact I was able to walk. It was
sore as hell by the time I got to my
gate and on my plane
