I feel like has been in college football for an eternity.

Hey man, I mean, if you can play as long
as you can play, why not. I mean, that's why
Russell Wilson left and went to Wisconsin, right, because the
story is Mike Glennan beat him out for the job
at NC State. Is that? What is that? What the
story was that beat him out? Basically? I believe was
it Tom O'Brien, who was the coach at the time.
He told him, he said, you know, Russell was kind

of focused on baseball on football, and he felt like
it wasn't right if he wasn't gonna beat there all
the time, or he wasn't focused on football, and he
went ahead and went with Mike Glennon or Glennon as
some people have gone on, instead of long Yeah, he
does have a long neck, him and Davis Mills long necks. Alright,

let's get off this before we all get fired. Alright,
So let's get into a conversation here. Um, So the
Cleveland Browns finally have a bye week. It only took
thirteen weeks. But they finally get a bye week and
they probably desperately needed. They are banged up. They've been
dealing with injuries throughout the course of the year, some
drama with Odell Beckham Jr. Uh. Clearly Baker Mayfield not

a percent. Jack Conklin got hurt. Um which, by the way,
the video of him trying to walk off the field
and his knee collapses namemos falls like that is terrifying.
And so Baker Mayfield is the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns,
is getting a lot of heat and there's been some
criticism about whether or not he's going to be there
long term and his his performance this year, it's been very,
(03:55):
very up and down. And um, you know, his general
manager Andrew Barry spoke about the situation regarding his quarterback
and where he stands with the organization. He's worked through
injuries no different than you know other players on our roster. Um.
You know, by no, you he expects of himself and
we expect you know him, Um, you know, whenever he's
on the field to perform at a at a capably

a capable level, at a winning level. Um. And we
expect him to play his best football down the stretch
year after the Black Bakers are quarterback, he's you know,
he's he's healthy enough to win games for us. He
has one games for us in the in the past
couple of weeks. If he's ready to go, um, you
know he's going to be our starter. Baker is incredibly
incredibly physically tough. Yeah, I think he'll you know, he's
told you guys, you know at moments of the year

where he's been frustrated with this, you know, with his
with his own performance. You know that being said, you
know he has had had stretches, you know this year
where you know he has played has played well for US.
I mean, so here he's saying, listen, he's injured, but
you know he can He's healthy enough to win games
for us. But it looks like he's totally compromised. Like
(04:59):
health is it just everything seems like it hurts. And
I don't know if it's gonna be like a multiple
surgery offseason four or whatever the hell it's gonna be.
But he looks like he's just trying to survive the
year right now. He looks totally shot. It's a tough
spot to be into when you go back to before
the season, what the narrative was around this team. You know,
last year making it to the playoffs, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers,

it seemed like this was gonna be the hot team
where if they kind of caught fire late in the season,
maybe they're challenging the Kansas City Chiefs because they've played
him so close in in the a f C Championship game,
But now that looks extremely in doubt, in part because
just how the season has gone for them. But I
just think because of his health, they need him at
(05:44):
a hundred percent to operate within this offense in order
for them to have a shot against the Chiefs at
least in my opinion, or for that matter, maybe even
the Bills and Patriots too, with the way the a
f C playoff pictures looking, so it's like, now it's
just like, can they get to the playoffs because I
feel like they're Olympic there, and you know, instead of

can this team actually surpassing be that surprise super Bowl
team we see pop out every once in a while. Yeah, Listen,
I look at at the Baker Mayfield situation, and he's
had so much riding on this season and it's just
in a lot of ways, you're finding out a lot
about him outside of just looking at it from the
we're judging his character. You're finding out a lot about
(06:28):
his grit and his toughness. He really is banged up,
and and he's still going out there, and this this
organization is coaches staff still feels as though he is
the best option for them to try to win games
at the health you know level he's at right now.
So to me, that's is a lot. Again. I when
I when I covered the game, the one thing that
(06:49):
I realized when I was doing the interviews with the
different players, uh, one of the players said, unsolicited, he's
the guy I want to play with UM and that
I would play for and I wouldn't want to play
for anyone else. And I thought that that spoke volumes
of what maybe the relationship is between Baker and the
other fellas in the locker room, because that has been
(07:12):
a point of emphasis and and focus for for quite
some time now. So to me, looking at Baker, I
think he does give them the best opportunity to win,
but that's only if you're able to get your running
game UM back up to snuff. So listen, you got
you got hunt back, you have chubb um. You don't
have your line all the way healthy as we as
(07:34):
we mentioned in detailed earlier, but this is a team
that has to run the ball first and established that
that pulling the defense and and making the defense take
that moment of time um to read the run versus
just jumping into the passing lanes. So and that makes
it easier for Baker, It makes it more so really
(07:55):
it makes it easier for these receivers because I just
didn't see very many receivers getting open. You know, they
weren't they weren't beating coverages, they weren't pulling away from defenders.
So I think a lot of times the reason why
the running attack is helping is because of the ability
to to run the ball. And Landry has been banged up,
but really for the first time in his career because
he he always played through everything and he's gotten banged
(08:16):
up this year. It's been problems man on that on
that core and that on that offense and total. I
just the one thing I always feel bad for when
it comes to like people talk about you know, well,
you know why is his wife speaking out on social
media and making comments and you know why, why are
they It's because she lives with that guy. She knows
(08:36):
what the hell he's going through every day that we
don't get to see that. You guys know firsthand better
than anybody. And so when you see him sort of
bite back in the media or make a comment or
have a little bit of an attitude, people go, oh, guy,
here goes Baker again. He just can't you know, he's
such a hothead, Like we have no idea the level
of pain that he's going through every single week to

try and get out there and gut it out and
then to under stand all of that's happening. He's, you know,
looking at a potential big money contract on the table,
life changing wealth on the table to be a franchise
quarterback and get paid like it, and he can't even
perform the way he wants to perform because his body
is completely shot right now. I mean, he's got dealing
with injuries all over, up and down, and I just

I feel bad for athletes in particular in this case,
Baker Mayfield happened to wear it like he's wearing it
when he's clearly not. It's terrible, just awful. Situation for him.
But he's gonna make a lot of money, millions and
millions of dollars and then that and then we can
all throw it, but that going to happen. And I
think that that's a lot of the stress and and
pressure that uh Brady, that that Baker is feeling right now.
(09:42):
And you know, when you're in when you're in years
where it's not necessarily a contract year, but you would
like for it to be a contract year. You definitely
want your play to do the talking for you, and
not so much to justify it to the people that
are going to pay it, but to justify it to
your teammates. We the moment you get that new contract,
the first thing people are calling you is new money.
(10:04):
They're looking at you, and everybody starts to immediately measureing
way where you're deserving of of that contract. You never
want to be the player, especially at the quarterbacks position.
You never want to be the player that your teammates
are looking at you like they paid him. You know,
you know, you just don't want to be that. You
just don't want to be that guy. So to me,
(10:26):
I just think that you know it's something that you know,
Baker wants to put his best foot forward, and that's
playing a large part on and that's weighing on him
and creating frustration for him because he's trying to put
his best foot forward, but his best foot is bruised.
You know, his knee, the knee on that best foot
is bruised. You know, the the other knee on the
other side bruise. The shoulder on the other side is bruised.

And and he's just trying. He's trying to put together
a good campaign and it's just it hasn't worked out
in in in the way that he probably would have
liked for it to worked out. Hey, look, there's still
a lot of football left to be played. Bye week
the bye week can be special for you. I mean,
it really can rejuvenate you get you going back in
the right direction with some rest, you know, a little

recovery and all that. So hopefully he's feeling better and
this team is kind of a different spot here coming
out of the bye. But you know, they got a chance.
I mean, they're not out of it, and they still
have a chance. It's just they gotta start playing some
of their best football. Like we kind of thought they
were going to be coming into this season. It's a

do you just wait here? We'll pay you a good

have said, after watching what happened last year and transitioning
from Tom Brady and see Tom Brady going on winning

even a job that Josh McDaniels wants to stay around
and take over? And now that they've got Mac Jones,
the way that offense is operating, it's like completely rejuvenated.

moving forward with Mac Jones now is my quarterback and

deal for what another three years at least well over

Antonio Brown just got popped three games. So now you've
got a lot of people very angry, very upset, bringing
out the pitchforks. My favorite is how they're trying to
do the comp between why did Antonio Brown get suspended
three games but Aaron Rodgers didn't because he didn't he
didn't fake a vaccine card. He just you know, sort
(27:49):
of gave a different spin on his messaging to whether
or not he was vaccinated at the time. So here
we go, Brady, your guy from South Florida, Antonio Brown,
uh making making great decision jet again. This will be
a fun one to cover, now I do I do
love how like for a moment in time, right, like
did we think he was like injured one coming back
(28:10):
and all that, and then it was like, uh, there's
the fake vaccine car. We shouldn't believe the chef, even
though he had a chef that ratted him out of
the whole situation, Like this story got really interesting, but
it like flew under the radar for a while because
he wasn't playing and and and that's where like now
you're looking to go, all right, they're gonna be without
(28:30):
him for the next three games. Then he comes back
and you know they're still the Tampa Bay Bucks. There's
still gonna be a position to go to the playoffs,
win another super Bowl. And you know the difference here
is with Roger's situation. You know, he got COVID right
and when he once you get COVID, once you're out
of it, he doesn't have to be tested for another
ninety days, so he's like good to go, Like you
(28:53):
don't really have to worry about potentially losing him to
COVID again for the Super Bowl. But now with an
Tonio Brown's status being found out, what it is or
it could be, you gotta keep an eye on this
moving forward because he very well could have to miss
a couple of weeks, which could impact them moving forward
once they do get to the play. May ask you
a question, Brady, do you think they release him? No? God, no,
(29:18):
I don't think so. I'm just I didn't ask you, Jonas, Sorry,
I'm asking that he is still good. I just I
just wonder the optics of it. Now, COVID COVID isn't
that big of a deal. Well, yeah it is. It
isn't as big as it was during the COVID year,

but people are still very tight on COVID, and I
kind of downplayed it at first until you guys were like, hey, listen,
that is a federal offense or whatever it was that
Yea said it was. I don't know, it's some type
of like offense legally, right, I mean, I'm just wondering.
You know, people do things, they us up, they get released.

I mean, he's not what what would we say, what
would we consider Antonio Brown receiver wise? For this team?
What what what level? What number of importance? He's agree?
I agree with that. I agree. I think when he
is playing, he's their number two wide receiver. Okay, he's
(30:25):
played in five games this year. He's got four touchdowns
in those five games. All Right, he's averaging I want
to say, like like over eighty yards per game. He's
been impactful. Man, he really has any one whatever, really
fix theirselves on making saying he's the number two? It
does seem though. It does seem though, like Brady, who
(30:48):
does even places the number two? Is it? Is it
Mike Evans? Or is it God? Yeah? You guys are horrible?
And why do you jump out there and say God
one so quickly like that? Jonas? Because I actually remember
that when here's here's what don't you think that that
tom thump up? We got three four minutes left in

this this segment. I'll whoop you as I will side
piece Eddie Garcia from you in a minute during the break, Eddie,
are going to be looking at you, stomping are I'll
start talking hot, We're going to be saying we are
over your dead body. Bro. You don't think that when Brady,

when when all said and done, and they're out there,
he turns to Gronk and Antonio Brown first and foremost,
like it seems to me like he favors those guys. Evans,
Gronk is his safety blanket, and he'll go to Gronk
and in very critical moments. But he's not A one
or A two. He's not even a three. I think
he trusts A B and Gronk more than he does Evans.
(31:54):
I think he has an interesting relationship with Gronk and
Uh and A B. But but by no means, is
Michael Evans not the number one and and Mr Gottwin
number two on this team receiver wise? I don't know.
I mean, I don't know how you say. I don't know.
It's a good problem. To me, it is a problem.
But could you do without A B? Is what I'm saying.
(32:15):
Are they good enough to do without it? Okay, that's
all I'm saying. I get that point. I just think
if you go and look at the games that A
B has played this year and you mix it in
conjunction with Chris Godwin, he's been impactful. I I no, no, no,
I'm saying, like you could make the case that he's
playing five games. In one of the games Antonio Brown
really didn't show up, like Week two versus Atlanta, But
(32:37):
the other four games, like they're kind of split in
regards to targets and yards, touchdowns, Like god One had
more than Antonio Brown. What Week five Brown had more
than he did in Week six? Like you could you
could kind of flip a coin as far as how
that looks. But I mean, I'm with you. They're obviously
surviving without him, and Godwin has been the way more
(32:57):
productive receiver this year. But there is some truth to
what Jonathan saying to Like you see in those moments
when Gron comes back into things like he trusts them
on third does so. I don't know, man, it's it's
look when he comes back, I still think they'll make
him portant because he's still got something. I mean earlier
in this season too, when you see him kind of move.
He still got that fast twitch ability to separate from defenders.
(33:21):
Let me say this, Let me say this and and
shoot me down if I'm wrong. Some coaches would have
released them based off of this. Bruce Bruce Arians. Bruce
Arians was the perfect situation for a b to make
a mistake. Glad this, but Bruce arians was as staunch
as anybody about the vaccine and was calling people out before.
(33:42):
This doesn't matter though he supports his players and he's
a players coach. Did you see, um? The statement from
Brown's attorney was actually pretty good? Uh, because uh, the
NFL made his determination. Instead of going through the drawn
out and distracting process of challenging the outcome, Mr Brown
wrapped this up promptly, and he will the most of
his time by treating his ankle injury. He will be motivated,
(34:03):
well rested, and then in the best shape of his
life when he returns in week sixteen. So basically, big deal.
We'll just rest up when you're ready to go and
be in better shape during the three weeks stretch here
during the suspension. That's a positive spin. That's what you
want from an A turn. I mean, he's doing better
than Levy. I mean, oh man, I'm just saying that
is true. Those were birds of a feather, right, I
(34:25):
mean it's them Legarret and and a B. Yeah, they
were together and Mike Wallace at one time. You know,
Mike Wallace in that car. But they was in that car.
You know. I have a lot of time to himself.
You know over these next three weeks. Isn't he still
roommates with Tom Brady. That's I'm just saying it wasn't
he remat It's pretty sure he was all right? Who cares?

then the other part of it is he's just been
there the entire time. Maybe he hasn't. Fifteen was his
first season, but yeah, he's he is. I feel like
he's been there forever because as a freshman he was
a really good receiver and returner for him, and he's
kind of always been that throughout his career. So like that, dude,
I feel like has been in college football for an eternity.
(02:28):
Hey man, I mean, if you can play as long
as you can play, why not. I mean, that's why
Russell Wilson left and went to Wisconsin, right, because the
story is Mike Glennan beat him out for the job
at NC State. Is that? What is that? What the
story was that beat him out? Basically? I believe was
it Tom O'Brien, who was the coach at the time.
He told him, he said, you know, Russell was kind
(02:50):
of focused on baseball on football, and he felt like
it wasn't right if he wasn't gonna beat there all
the time, or he wasn't focused on football, and he
went ahead and went with Mike Glennon or Glennon as
some people have gone on, instead of long Yeah, he
does have a long neck, him and Davis Mills long necks. Alright,
(03:13):
let's get off this before we all get fired. Alright,
So let's get into a conversation here. Um, So the
Cleveland Browns finally have a bye week. It only took
thirteen weeks. But they finally get a bye week and
they probably desperately needed. They are banged up. They've been
dealing with injuries throughout the course of the year, some
drama with Odell Beckham Jr. Uh. Clearly Baker Mayfield not
(03:34):
a percent. Jack Conklin got hurt. Um which, by the way,
the video of him trying to walk off the field
and his knee collapses namemos falls like that is terrifying.
And so Baker Mayfield is the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns,
is getting a lot of heat and there's been some
criticism about whether or not he's going to be there
long term and his his performance this year, it's been very,
(03:55):
very up and down. And um, you know, his general
manager Andrew Barry spoke about the situation regarding his quarterback
and where he stands with the organization. He's worked through
injuries no different than you know other players on our roster. Um.
You know, by no, you he expects of himself and
we expect you know him, Um, you know, whenever he's
on the field to perform at a at a capably
(04:16):
a capable level, at a winning level. Um. And we
expect him to play his best football down the stretch
year after the Black Bakers are quarterback, he's you know,
he's he's healthy enough to win games for us. He
has one games for us in the in the past
couple of weeks. If he's ready to go, um, you
know he's going to be our starter. Baker is incredibly
incredibly physically tough. Yeah, I think he'll you know, he's
told you guys, you know at moments of the year
(04:38):
where he's been frustrated with this, you know, with his
with his own performance. You know that being said, you
know he has had had stretches, you know this year
where you know he has played has played well for US.
I mean, so here he's saying, listen, he's injured, but
you know he can He's healthy enough to win games
for us. But it looks like he's totally compromised. Like
(04:59):
health is it just everything seems like it hurts. And
I don't know if it's gonna be like a multiple
surgery offseason four or whatever the hell it's gonna be.
But he looks like he's just trying to survive the
year right now. He looks totally shot. It's a tough
spot to be into when you go back to before
the season, what the narrative was around this team. You know,
last year making it to the playoffs, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers,
(05:22):
it seemed like this was gonna be the hot team
where if they kind of caught fire late in the season,
maybe they're challenging the Kansas City Chiefs because they've played
him so close in in the a f C Championship game,
But now that looks extremely in doubt, in part because
just how the season has gone for them. But I
just think because of his health, they need him at
(05:44):
a hundred percent to operate within this offense in order
for them to have a shot against the Chiefs at
least in my opinion, or for that matter, maybe even
the Bills and Patriots too, with the way the a
f C playoff pictures looking, so it's like, now it's
just like, can they get to the playoffs because I
feel like they're Olympic there, and you know, instead of
(06:05):
can this team actually surpassing be that surprise super Bowl
team we see pop out every once in a while. Yeah, Listen,
I look at at the Baker Mayfield situation, and he's
had so much riding on this season and it's just
in a lot of ways, you're finding out a lot
about him outside of just looking at it from the
we're judging his character. You're finding out a lot about
(06:28):
his grit and his toughness. He really is banged up,
and and he's still going out there, and this this
organization is coaches staff still feels as though he is
the best option for them to try to win games
at the health you know level he's at right now.
So to me, that's is a lot. Again. I when
I when I covered the game, the one thing that
(06:49):
I realized when I was doing the interviews with the
different players, uh, one of the players said, unsolicited, he's
the guy I want to play with UM and that
I would play for and I wouldn't want to play
for anyone else. And I thought that that spoke volumes
of what maybe the relationship is between Baker and the
other fellas in the locker room, because that has been
(07:12):
a point of emphasis and and focus for for quite
some time now. So to me, looking at Baker, I
think he does give them the best opportunity to win,
but that's only if you're able to get your running
game UM back up to snuff. So listen, you got
you got hunt back, you have chubb um. You don't
have your line all the way healthy as we as
(07:34):
we mentioned in detailed earlier, but this is a team
that has to run the ball first and established that
that pulling the defense and and making the defense take
that moment of time um to read the run versus
just jumping into the passing lanes. So and that makes
it easier for Baker, It makes it more so really
(07:55):
it makes it easier for these receivers because I just
didn't see very many receivers getting open. You know, they
weren't they weren't beating coverages, they weren't pulling away from defenders.
So I think a lot of times the reason why
the running attack is helping is because of the ability
to to run the ball. And Landry has been banged up,
but really for the first time in his career because
he he always played through everything and he's gotten banged
(08:16):
up this year. It's been problems man on that on
that core and that on that offense and total. I
just the one thing I always feel bad for when
it comes to like people talk about you know, well,
you know why is his wife speaking out on social
media and making comments and you know why, why are
they It's because she lives with that guy. She knows
(08:36):
what the hell he's going through every day that we
don't get to see that. You guys know firsthand better
than anybody. And so when you see him sort of
bite back in the media or make a comment or
have a little bit of an attitude, people go, oh, guy,
here goes Baker again. He just can't you know, he's
such a hothead, Like we have no idea the level
of pain that he's going through every single week to
(08:57):
try and get out there and gut it out and
then to under stand all of that's happening. He's, you know,
looking at a potential big money contract on the table,
life changing wealth on the table to be a franchise
quarterback and get paid like it, and he can't even
perform the way he wants to perform because his body
is completely shot right now. I mean, he's got dealing
with injuries all over, up and down, and I just
(09:19):
I feel bad for athletes in particular in this case,
Baker Mayfield happened to wear it like he's wearing it
when he's clearly not. It's terrible, just awful. Situation for him.
But he's gonna make a lot of money, millions and
millions of dollars and then that and then we can
all throw it, but that going to happen. And I
think that that's a lot of the stress and and
pressure that uh Brady, that that Baker is feeling right now.
(09:42):
And you know, when you're in when you're in years
where it's not necessarily a contract year, but you would
like for it to be a contract year. You definitely
want your play to do the talking for you, and
not so much to justify it to the people that
are going to pay it, but to justify it to
your teammates. We the moment you get that new contract,
the first thing people are calling you is new money.
(10:04):
They're looking at you, and everybody starts to immediately measureing
way where you're deserving of of that contract. You never
want to be the player, especially at the quarterbacks position.
You never want to be the player that your teammates
are looking at you like they paid him. You know,
you know, you just don't want to be that. You
just don't want to be that guy. So to me,
(10:26):
I just think that you know it's something that you know,
Baker wants to put his best foot forward, and that's
playing a large part on and that's weighing on him
and creating frustration for him because he's trying to put
his best foot forward, but his best foot is bruised.
You know, his knee, the knee on that best foot
is bruised. You know, the the other knee on the
other side bruise. The shoulder on the other side is bruised.
(10:50):
And and he's just trying. He's trying to put together
a good campaign and it's just it hasn't worked out
in in in the way that he probably would have
liked for it to worked out. Hey, look, there's still
a lot of football left to be played. Bye week
the bye week can be special for you. I mean,
it really can rejuvenate you get you going back in
the right direction with some rest, you know, a little
(11:12):
recovery and all that. So hopefully he's feeling better and
this team is kind of a different spot here coming
out of the bye. But you know, they got a chance.
I mean, they're not out of it, and they still
have a chance. It's just they gotta start playing some
of their best football. Like we kind of thought they
were going to be coming into this season. It's a

wants it to be considered a Christmas movie and actually
wants the controversy and acting Christmas. Absolutely not. He doesn't
once the controversy don't about a guy trying to get
to see his wife. It's it's like saying it's saving
his wife. It's like saying lethal It's like saying lethal
weapons a hockey movie because they shot that guy in
the ice, and we're talking about it's not true. I mean,

come on, we talk like like Last Boy Scout is
a football movie exactly. That's not a football movie. Some
guy pulled out a hand cannon and put it, put
a canoe on a guy's shoulders. I mean, come on,
we're talking about here, yeah with that by the way,
