So we've got ourselves a group of people on one
(00:42):
team in the NFL that might be a little bit
upset about the comments made by their owner. We will
get into all of that here coming up in just
a couple of moments from now. It's Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,

hump day, We appreciate you doing so we'll take you
all the way up until nine am Eastern times, six
o'clock Pacific right here on fs R SO or on Saturdays,
that's a good point. On Saturdays ten am to new
An Eastern times Pacific. The undercard for LaVar. Yeah, there
(01:24):
you go. Yeah, that's right card. Yeah, just us diminished
my show even more. There you go. You couldn't do it,
make it through my show even I'm saying it's about
my show even more. Listen on the Jonas Knock Show,
I don't know, I'll tell you. We hand out some winners,
(01:46):
you know, we we get after that sun. So well
listen to know two or three this week, you know,
two or three winners this week, and we'll forget all
about the Bears, Cardinals pick. Then we don't need to
talk about that, not not the negative stuff here. Um,
let's talk about you Erry Jones. So the Dallas Cowboys
have been kind of a roller coaster ride, especially over
the last month or so. Um, you know, one minute
there they look like a legitimate Super Bowl team. The
(02:09):
next minute they're losing to the Broncos and they're not
able to get in the end zone against the Chiefs,
and then they beat the Falcons and they get so
it just sort of this up and down ride with
the Dallas Cowboys. And so there's you know, been some
conversation about Dak Prescott and you know just how he's
looked recently. And Jerry Jones, who does UM, I believe
it's five or six weekly hits now he may as
(02:32):
well own his own sports talk radio show or have
his own speaking of which sports talk radio shows himself,
because he's always on. He was on with Shannon R.
J in Dallas talking about Dak Prescott, and um had
this to say about maybe some of the troubles that
the receivers are having there. The thing that you're seeing is, uh,
(02:52):
sometimes the past that looks is because the receiver grants
since ran the route to two yards, cut it off
two yards shoulder, he should be apt two more yards
before he makes his cuts can make all the difference
in the world as far as his ability to separate.
(03:15):
It has a relativeness to the other receivers. And so
if you're not really crisp on the way the play
was designed relative to how many yards you go to cut,
then you passing game can look really off. So there
it is. It's not Dak Prescott's fault or anything, Jerry
(03:37):
Jones pointing out the route running for the receivers there.
Brady Quinn, So, if I mean the problem solved, I
think everything is solved there. And now, well, I mean
it's not just one thing. But he's not wrong everything
I'm wrong. Everything he said to you was accurate, and
it's things that the glossed over overlooked, and a lot
of your box score readers can't find, Like you're not
gonna find that when you read a box score and
(03:59):
you see an complete pass, you would have to find
a greater understanding. Either you're in that room for the
install meeting to understand what that team is trying to accomplish,
or how they're trying to impact zone coverage, or the
depth of the route wise should be, you know, as
deep as it is. There's that conversation, and then there's
you know, if you're not watching the film in general,
you might not be able to see it, Like there's
(04:20):
a there's a connection between the footwork of the quarterback
and the depth and the footwork of the wide receiver.
There's a connection between the depth of that route for
one wide receiver and then the depth of the route
for another wide receiver on his same side. They're all
meant to work in unison with one another and work
in harmony. So when that's off, yeah, the when the
(04:42):
footworks off on the depths off like, you're gonna see
some errand passes because you're throwing the football before wide
receivers get to those marks. And so you're trusting when
you let go of that football, the wide receiver is
gonna do his job and he's gonna be to where
he needs to be at that spot or at that
point in time. And that's the hard part about you know,
(05:04):
any passing game is if the wide receiver's off by
two yards you may say it's only two yards, that's
six ft can make the difference between a completion or
an incompletion, an interception or an incompletion, and it can
make a huge difference. So nothing he said there is wrong.
And I think he's defending Dak Prescott because Deck Prescott's
(05:26):
not the type of quarterback that's gonna throw his wide
receivers under the bus. Who By the way, you've kind
of had a mixture of guys working in and out,
and because you've had a mixture of guys, whether it's
been a Marie Cooper or a CD Lamb or whoever
else um who's missed some time this year, whatever combination receivers,
you've got guys moving around to different spots and wide
(05:47):
receiver and so sometimes that's gonna play a factor two.
And if those guys aren't a customer comfortable to running
routes from the slot or from the outside, or being
the guy in this particular concept, they might a little
bit off with their footwork. I think that that's why
he put it out there, because I don't think he's
taking a shot at Cooper or or as Ceedee Lamb.
(06:09):
So I think he was confident in doing it. He's
not creating a beef with them. Those who know that,
you know from everything I've ever heard, those who know
their relationship with Jerry knows their relationship with Jerry, and
and there you know he's really close with his players.
So I don't think he was taking a shot at
his main dudes. I think he was taking a shot
(06:30):
at at other guys that probably needed to step up.
I mean, they won as soon as A Marian and
C d came back, so they were losing, you know,
while those guys were out and and so to me,
I look at it, and I say to myself, Jerry
Jones is stating the obvious, but he's also he's also
placing uh an accountability on on guys outside of DAC
(06:55):
because I think that we all know at this point
how accountable Dak Scott has been in terms of the
performance of himself and of his team. So this team
is supposed to be, you know, a super Bowl contending team,
and they they have they haven't looked like a contender.
Uh as of as of late, they got back on track.
(07:18):
But I don't I don't know that you get carried
away about saying that this is a team that looks
good enough to start putting back in the conversation of
Super Bowl contender as it applies to the other teams
in the NFC. So I I think that that's kind
of like a shot across the bow, like guys like,
make sure you're running the route you're supposed to run.
Do what you're supposed to do. Because ultimately speaking, all
(07:41):
the injuries they've dealt with as a whole, you know,
on their offensive front, along their defensive front, uh, they've
dealt with with injuries, and they need people who are
in those positions to put points on the board to
achieve at a higher level, no matter what the circumstances.
Is any other NFL owner doing this though, Like would
anybody go and and and start calling out receivers from
(08:05):
how many other how many of them know football the
way that that Jerry Jones does, But that that's It's
just it's odd that he's that he continues to do
like this is his thing. And I was trying to
think about it. Maybe Al Davis is the only other
guy that I can think of who owned an NFL team.
But you guys had NFL owners like, say whatever you
want about Dan Snyder, He wasn't calling out the receivers,
all right. Snyder doesn't know football. These owners don't know that. Listen.
(08:31):
And when I say they don't know football, I'm saying
they don't know it from the aspect of they played
the game like that man not only played the game,
he played at a D one level, you know, being
out Arkansas national champ. He played. You know, one of
the greatest coach is a Hall of Fame coach was
one of his was his teammate and Jim Johnson. So
to me, first of all, he's already established that this
(08:54):
is who he is. And and for what it's worth,
I love the fact that one of our own is
not only able to take over a franchise and make
it a relevant franchise, but he's made it the most
relevant franchise. What says to me, why aren't more football
players getting the opportunity to take over, you know, take
over teams. So I'm more proud of him as an
(09:16):
alumni more so than anything else. And and I like
the fact that he understands the game. He invests himself
in the game because he truly loves the game. I
mean to criticize him for that. I mean, I don't know.
I fall on the other side of it. It's just
it is it is strange, man like and and and
he gives us content all the time, so I'll give
(09:37):
him that. But it is just that the fact that
he's known. Have you ever hung out with him, Brady,
have you ever been around him? No, I've only met
him once. I haven't hung around him like that. Look
And I, by the way, I've heard him speak at
the National Football Foundation event which was just going on
this past week. Uh, Bob Stupids get inducted into the
College Football Hall of Fame. But I've heard him speak
at that event, and I've got to tell you, you you know,
(10:00):
I know there's this persona out there about him and
how people think he is. Um. That guy loves football.
He he really does. And he loves it, not only
I think because what it's done for his life, um,
financially and and the success that he's had. But I
think he gets the bigger picture too, Like he understands
that the game of football can teach you so many
(10:20):
life life lessons and prepare you for life. That that's
where he sees the importance of it, um and and
and I'm not trying to like speak on his behalf,
but I listened to him give a speech about it
and then talk to some people afterwards, and you could
tell he just loves football. He really really does. And
and and I do understand he comes off is maybe
(10:40):
quirky at times, or however you want to describe him,
but that that dude loves the game. And I think
what it means to you know, him, what it means
to America, Like he just he loves it. And there's
there's something we said for his passion for the game
of football and really the impact that he's had on
making football the number one sport. People don't realize Jerry
Jones was a really huge influential factor in Fox becoming
(11:05):
Fox Sports and then carrying the NFL and now you've
got Fox and CBS and obviously ESPN, you know, ABC
if you will, and NBC all caring what is now
the greatest sport in our country. Like he was an
influential piece and all of that way back when when
I first got started up. Yeah, he um and and
(11:25):
to to his credit, but the l A stadium deal
that got done and then you know, the could mention
some shenanigans behind the scene based on based on the
seven fifty million dollars or whatever it was that they
had to pay out to St. Louis. But the l A,
the l A stadium thing that got done, that was
Jerry Jones. Like he's he's really been impactful. Um, you
know his and I think he built the Jerry World.
(11:47):
I think that was all his own money, So I
don't think he relied on tax dollars or anything like that.
I think that was all his money and his investment.
So No, he's done great jobs, and I just uh,
you know, it's it's great. He does the the two
radio hits during the week. It gets like Brady Quinneys everywhere.
It's like Fox Sports Brady O every Friday. When you
hear Brady here and then on the Dan Patrick Show,
I mean regular Jerry Jones over there, that Brady. Why
(12:08):
do you think he deflects like this. I just just wondering. No,
I'm just saying. I'm just saying, like you you do
another hit with Dan Patrick, it gets a lot of
great reviews. Brady. I mean, like Lavarna, I don't get
invited to it, but you do do another hit with
Dan Patrick every Friday. Here. I just wanted to point
that out. That's actually here's the funny thing about that.
That's actually to promote our show. So I'm going out
(12:31):
to promote two pros and a couple of Joe. Meanwhile,
you're on our show, two pros and a cup of Joe,
promoting your show named after you. Because you're such a
humble guy you didn't want to put your name in it. Well,
I mean, if you're gonna if you're gonna give it out,
I mean ten am to New an Eastern times seven
and I Pacific time on Saturdays. Here heard on hundreds
of Fox Sports Radio affiliates. There's the undercards for up
(12:54):
on game. I just want to make that clear, all right.
We are brought to you by Discover. Real credit card
questions require real people, someone who understands your issues and
works to resolve them with you. That's why I Discover
offer her selful US based representatives. Seven Discover exceptionally common sense.
All right, So coming up next, um, there is a
team in the NFL who did a little bit of
(13:15):
a block. All right. They decided no, no, no no, no, no,
you can't have him. He is not yours. We'll tell
you who that is. Coming up next year on fs
are be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar Arrington
and Jonas Knox week days at six am Eastern three
am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio.
(13:38):
Can't beat the classics, man, All you guys like these
new be Christmas songs, you gotta go to the classics.
You want to get the good stuff. It's Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe here, Fox Sports Radio LaVar, Arrington,
Brady Quinn, Jones play these sorts of songs on your
own show. We don't get well because, um, you know,
because the Jonas Knock Show is run by Jonas Knocks
(13:59):
Jonas Knocks asides of what music gets played on the
Jonah Show. That's the key to having your bestie and
your person be the producer of the show as well.
You know, Lisa's you know, I get what you do
because he's not a part of that shows you're trying
to start. Well, when the name is is the name
of the show is your name, you don't have to
have your bestie, you know, running the lead. But when
(14:21):
it's not the name of your show and you have
a guy like Brady Quinn on this show, then you
gotta have your bestie back there to make sure he's
running things the way you want to. Old mandalis LaVar
traveling the country with his big, big time show. But
but I you know, I'm doing mine. Uh you know,
we we split duties, you know what I mean. And
and you know my guy, my producer, and my board
(14:44):
offs guy and my up the well Eddie's my update
guy no matter what. But you know, but but we're
all on the same page. You know, we're not on
different pages like you are. You know you're on your
own page. By the way, speaking of Eddie Garcia, we
do have some breaking yeah, way a way. See wait
in the NFL breaking news from Fox Sports. Thank you,
(15:09):
Roberto makes me sound much more important when you played that.
I really appreciate it. But Ian Rappaport from the NFL
Network is reporting that Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams will
have season ending surgery to repair a torn laboram uh.
This is apparently the same shoulder he had surgery on
last year. If all goes well, they expect he'll be
ready for all of the next season for training camp
(15:30):
next year. But again, Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl safety Jamal
Adams is done for the season. I mean, what a
disaster of a year for Seattle, like this has gone
so poorly. Um and I mean Russell Wilson, I mean,
I think a lot of people feel like he's gonna
be gone. But you know, Jamal Adams was one of
those guys that we need to get him paid. We
got to make sure he's around. But this is this
(15:52):
is a seeming really a bad injury that he suffered,
so the extra details on it. Um suffered the additional
significant shoulder damage in Sunday, So it's not just the
labor room, it's also the other stuff that went on
with it. So, uh, he's he's tell us for the
year and then now hopefully looking at it back next year.
I mean, there's gonna be a larger conversation with that
(16:14):
because you've got to take your health into consideration over
anything else. And this is a reoccurring, you know, reoccurring deal.
I mean, and if there's more damage, like like you said,
then this is you know that it doesn't seem to
be going away, and and shoulder injuries, you know, labor
rom tears and different things like that. You know, you
(16:34):
can't mess around with stuff like that, especially when you're
starting to do different damage to the area, you know.
So I'm a thoughts and prayers to him, and I
just hope that you know, he's he's open to whatever
it is the diagnosis is, and what it is that
he has to do, and what it is that he
has to think about and moving forward and and his
not only his career, but in his life. You know,
(16:57):
it's the quality of life that's most important. There's only
twenty six. I mean, he's he's played this is his
fifth year playing. Um, the reality is he hasn't played
a full year since the second year in the league,
you know, and they just signed him to that big
money contracts. I would be you know, surprised if he's
not back starting healthy, you know, ready to go for UM,
(17:18):
he's got a he's about what five years left in
that deal was a four year you know deal, so
four years after this year. So he's gonna paid a
lot of money to be there is Seattle to rebuild
if Russell Wilson leaves, they are, but you don't rebuild
when you've got a franchise quarterback. So if he if
he leaves, then you just think they've been in a
(17:38):
rebuild since they lost a legion of Doom, the legion
of Boom and and and Marshawn Lynch. I think they've
been in a rebuild ever since. And my estimation maybe
trying to replace the guys on defense. But with Russell,
I think they felt like they built around him. He
can't be in a rebuild if you've never had a
losing season with Russell, you know, like like that, it's
(17:58):
just it's not possible to read build what you had
on defense if you don't have the draft picks to
do it right. I mean that's they've been more apt to,
like like the Rams kind of take like take them
off the hook for how many times they've traded right
first round picks. But Seattle's right that same boat, Like
they trade to first round pick for Jamal Adams, Like
they have no problem giving up first round picks because
(18:20):
they feel like they can draft in the mid late
rounds and still find some players. Was a first for
Dwayne Brown too, I believe it might have been. I mean,
they haven't had a first round of when I was
there with them, Percy Harmon and we gave up a
first round pick for Percy Harvin, who you know, outside
of that what one kickoff return, you know, wasn't able
to stay healthy much that season and have have much
of an impact. But it was kind of the same thing.
(18:41):
Like they just they they don't value those quite as
much because they've been so successful in the back end
of the first round. They're like, what's the what's the
difference between a player that we take somewhere between you know,
number seventeen in the first round to thirty two or
because they're usually drafting in that spot right like that,
they're not you know, we're gonna be up the top ten.
(19:01):
So what's the difference between seventeen to thirty two versus
you know, thirty three to sixty. It's probably not that
big of a difference, like outside of your top ten
maybe fifteen prospects. Um, you know, there's not a ton
of guys you're looking at saying there's that big of
a difference between the other guys in that group. So
I think that's how they look at. I just wonder
how long Pete Carroll is gonna be there, Like, like,
(19:22):
I can't imagine he wants to go through a rebuild.
I can't imagine he wants to start over and have
to do this whole thing over again. It's only a rebuild.
If Russell leaves, do you think he's gonna be back
next year Russell Wilson, I don't know. It depends on
It depends on this year finishes, you know, and they
they just one last week, Maybe they feel like they
still got a shot, you know, to win out and
see how things go. Because because that's how Pete Carroll
(19:43):
thinks like Pete's not like a lot of other coaches
where he's like playing out all these scenarios right now,
Like he's a one track mind, dude. He's one of
the more like positive, uplifting, optimistic guys. And he's only
gonna let them look a week ahead, you know, a
week at a time. He's not gonna let him play
out all these what if s areas and do all that.
That's for us, that's for people on the outside. He
(20:04):
does not coach that way or trade his players to
be that way. So I promise you if they went out,
so I'll find a way of sneaking back into playoffs
with this whole thing, We're not gonna be having this conversation.
So they're at Houston. Who's how much how much do
you guys think Russ is playing a part in the
(20:25):
struggles of this year's team. I think his injury is injury.
Like before that he was playing great, and then he
was playing pretty well before that and then the injury,
Like he's just not the same player, Like it seems
like he was special last week. He's no, he's starting
to adjust now. Like last week go back and when
I watched that on save it this past week, he's starting,
he's starting to adjust, He's starting to have a better
(20:45):
feeling for the finger and everything else. You can see it.
And I think they kind of schemed a round a
little bit too with that. But but now, answer me this.
So he was better before the injury. He's not as good,
but he's getting back to being better. If you're if
you're I mean, you're a quarterback, Brady, I mean, I
know you can't speak for what he's feeling. But if
(21:09):
I'm a quarterback, how much of this season am I
shouldering for me? Because to me, I think that the
way he's thinking in terms of what he's going to
do after this season probably lies somewhere in there as
to how he views himself as it applies to this season. Um,
I'm not really sure how to answer that, because I
(21:30):
I can't speak for him. I just but how would
you fail? Well? I mean, I mean, I think the
frustration that he displayed this offseason gives you an idea of,
you know, his frustration with them not ultimately giving him
the tools that he needs to be successful. Now he's
got the receivers, I think tight ends. You could say
that too, even though Gerald ever played awful last week.
(21:52):
But the but, but the the rushing attack at times,
they lean on it too much, probably for his his liking,
and I think that was why you know, you heard
this whole let him cook all last year. Um, the
offensive line has never been what I think he's hoping
it would be, or you could you can't even say
they've ever been a top ten group, Like they've never
been a top ten groups since he's been there. Um
(22:12):
that the defense has been really bad the past couple
of years, and and they haven't done really a ton
outside of getting Jamal Adams trying to change that, they
still haven't been able to find the rushers up front
they used to have during the Super Bowl runs. So
his questions about what they've done with the roster to
help him get back to another Super Bowl win are legitimate.
(22:32):
I mean, Tom Brady picked the Tampa Bay Bucks in
part because of you know, Bruce Arians and everything else
they have there. But look at the roster. That was
a stack roster. So I just kind of looking and say,
I think he's gotten more frustrated, frustrated with where they
haven't gotten this roster to a certain point. And then
there's the off the field stuff where he's got his
(22:52):
hands in a lot of different ventures. And I think
he knows. And this is not a slight to Seattle.
I love Seattle. It's literally one of my favorite cities.
I'd live there. But it's the it's in the Pacific Northwest,
and people on the East Coast they don't hear about it.
You can yell and scream as loud as you want
from Seattle, that sound all gets caught up in the
(23:12):
timber out there and it never makes its way east.
And and and I swear to you, if he was
drafted to an East Coast team in New York, one
of those two teams wherever else on the East Coast,
in a big market, he would be looked at and
talked about even more than he already is. He would
probably have at least some m v P votes, you know,
maybe even maybe even stolen m v P depending on
(23:35):
how you view it. Like, I just think there's there's
that kind of narrative that's just not out there for him. Yeah,
that's a Roberto's favorite sound drop by the way, that
in the fart noise Sierra, Mr Mr ulmited, you got
to be unlimited. Oh that's got to be the worst one,
(23:56):
all right, that I digress I can be that was worse.
That was worse. Uh, that one isn't quite his worst,
but it's up there. It's up there. Great football player,
you know, I know I've been great. I know I
will be great and I'll continue to be great. Yeah,
(24:17):
that's not in there. I'm okay with that, Okay with
self belief. Yeah, there's a we should actually do that.
And when he decides that he's gonna leave Seattle, let's
play during the off season Russell's best drops and we'll
rank them like ten to one. We'll do that will
be a good stunt because we don't want to talk
about you know, probably baseball because there's a season not
happening right now. So we just, you know, break down
Russell Wilson's best drops. We've gotten the system sounds like
(24:38):
quality radio programming. By the way, we are brought to
you by one of our favorite cities, Las Vegas. Your
home for live sports, and that means all sports, every game, match, race,
and competition. It is always on. Now go on and
playing your trip at Visit Las Vegas dot com to
see the best and brightest in Vegas, the greatest arena
on earth, just as LaVar he did a show without
(24:59):
Brady qu and I last week from Vegas. How about that?
All right? Coming up on a Saturday. Thank you. Um,
you know, you guys can come on our show anytime.
You can come on that show anytime. You know, it's
a great form. You know that Fred's smoot segment was amazing.
That was one of the funniest things he was that
(25:20):
was that was amazing. Bobby three sticks, Bobby sticks. All right,
No one was safe, you know, Fred got up. No
one was safe. Yeah, anything goes in Vegas except for
you know, Brady and I being invited on. But anything
goes in Vegas. Apparently, well, Brady's got a lot going on,
and apparently you've got this big show that that gets
(25:42):
everything going. And then we just talked to nobody because
everybody leaves after the Jonas Knock Show is over. I mean, listen, now,
you know I didn't I didn't want to say that.
You know, that's that's not That's not where I wanted
to go with this. All right, coming up next, now
we do have somebody saying absolutely not to a formal
rival in the NFL will get to that here out
fs are, but for all the latest from around the
world of sports. My guy, my guy, Eddie Garcia. Didn't
(26:06):
Fred Smoot have that great quote? Was it like the
Earth is covered by water, two thirds by water, the
rest is covered by smoot something like man, I thought
it was smooth, My bad. It might have been, though.
That sounds like something he'd say. All right, I'll teach you.
Caught up on a on a quick. In the NBA
(26:27):
three games, Lakers beat the Celtics one S one O
two Lebron James thirty points for l A and the
win Jayson Tatum thirty four points in the loss for Boston.
We had the Nets improving to seventeen and seven, top
record in the East, with a one oh two nine
and nine win over the Mavericks Kevin Durant twenty four points,
James Harden twenty three points and R. J. Barrett thirty
two points for the Knicks in a one O nine
went over the Spurs top college basketball six ranked teams,
(26:49):
and actually we had five of them posting victories. The
one that didn't was number thirteen Tennessee losing it overtime
against Texas Tech fifty seven fifty two wins in the
top ten for number six Villanova, who beat Syracuse sixty
seven of the three, Number eight Kansas and knocked off
Texas El Paso and Niverton, Kentucky beat Southern seventy six
to sixty four. Also wins in the top twenty five
number twelve Arkansas and number sixteen usc Both the Razorbacks
(27:11):
and Trojans are a perfect nine and oh on the season.
And some NHL games, and note we had the Wild
over the Oilers four to one, Hurricanes beat the Jets
four two, Blues get by the Panthers four three and overtime,
and the Rangers won their seventh in a row beating
the black Hawks six to two. Now back to Brady Quinn,
lbar Aarrington and Jonas Knocks in the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Thank you Eddie, and by the way, Eddie, you're gonna
be a very happy man. Right now, let's go live
(27:32):
to are did Fred Smoot say that insider lead to
lap for the latestly many great quotes from the mouth
from the South, But in two thousand three he did say,
you know, seventy pc of the world is covered by
the water. The rest is covered by smooth Eddie, what
recall for? Yes, amazing good. I mean that was a
(27:56):
great line, uh, which I kind of feel like someone
probably said it before, and well, yeah, but you know,
most material is an original material. It's been said in
a in a slightly different way before. Well, but it's
like Aaron Rodgers a discount double check. I mean, that's
not his, that's Freddie Mitchell's. Freddie Mitchell was the first
(28:18):
guy to do the at the belt was waste. You know,
Brady's guy, Freddie Mitchell. By the way, Brady's guy watch
us in the Duffel bag there. You know, he never know.
That was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
My dude, Freddie Mitchell's a legend. Let's put it that way.
(28:41):
I wonder if I wonder if my experience with Freddy
Mitchell is compared to what what you're talking about. I'm
not sure, but I saw him at a golf tournament
and well, he was enjoying himself with all the freebies there.
And what do you mean, Eddie, I think he I
think he needed some some of that clothes and uh
free and they were giving up. Oh no, it's not
that he's just always ready for a good time. Okay, yeah,
(29:05):
he's always you talk about game ready, he's always ready,
bag bag full of balloon. You could be working out
throwing passes to him and next thing you know, he's
he's finding himself some work off the fields and he ready.
He's like ready, ready, like he's got, he's got everything
he needs. And by making blue animals, huh just ready
(29:28):
to go that uh that anything you need. You know,
he's got a little u slide around and you know
you're protected. Oh you can't trust me. I was, I
was like, well, okay, that many rain jackets in one place,
a lot of rain jackets, a lot of a lot
(29:49):
of slipping slide material. Croc the old crocodile Mile, the
one of the great. But that's what happens when you
know you here's what you learn as a quarterback, especially
when you like you're throwing the guys that you don't
like play with, aren't your teammates. You know, offseason training
is like a trip because there's a quarterback you're always
looking to like throw to guys, and especially like guys
(30:10):
who have been around the league. You're trying to pick
some things up from them, and you're just kind of
looking at how they're coached, how they run routes and
all that stuff. So here's the mistake you don't want
to make, all right, you don't want to let it,
especially a veteran guy. If it's a wide receiver, choose
the destination you're going to throw, because if he's choosing that,
there's a reason behind why he's choosing that. Because usually
(30:33):
why receivers just like, oh yeah, whatever, you want to go, man,
when we want to meet up, you know, get some
working and catch some passes. If they're choosing a particular
spot like Arizona State's campus, okay, there is a reason
why he's choosing temperate Arizona and Arizona State's campus. Uh,
and a particular let's just say, multi purpose feel that
(30:54):
we have to be throwing on. He is he's not
he's not singular focused. He's not just out there to
work on his game on the field. He's out there
to work on his game off the field. Yeah, I
mean listen, Uh you know Tempee, Scottsdale, you know those
those uh you know good good yeah, good good hot
good eats over there, you know good they got good
(31:17):
good food. Over there and they probably listen to radio
Sunday or Saturday morning. That's a good point. Yeah, I mean,
why wouldn't you. I mean with all you know, there's
nothing going on there, no I know, nightlife or anything
like that in Scottsdale, you know, on Friday, so even
they're up early listening. It's Sundays anyway. Sundays in Scottsdale
are today. So you just you get those good eats,
(31:38):
those good drinks on on you know, Saturday morning while
you're listening to the radio and you know, sports talk
radio in particular, and then you get yourself ready to
party on Sunday. What is it called Funday? Sunday, Sunday,
Sunday Funday. It feels like every day is okay in Scottsdale.
It's like Vegas. I feel like, yeah, it feels like
Vegas without slot machines, and it feels like it feels
(32:02):
like yeah, just a lot of anyway, I've seen some
out there, yeahely, I just can't even we can't do
gold coins come out of the um. Oh my god,
Oh my god. I don't know. I've never seen anything
(32:25):
that come out all right. Two pros and radio LaVar Arrington,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knocks. You Here on fs are just
a just an action packed Wednesday show here on a
hump day. Literally all right, it's coming up next to
We're gonna have another edition of the Good, the Bad,
and the Ugly in the world of sports. It's yours
(32:47):
right here on fs ARE. Be sure to catch live
editions of two pros and a Cup of Joe with
Brady Quinn, lavarre Errington, and Jonas Knocks week days at
six am Eastern, three am Pacific. Hey, what's up everybody.
It's me three time pro bowler La Barrington and I
couldn't be more excited to announce a new podcast called
Up on Game. What is Up on Game? You asked,
(33:10):
along with my fellow pro bowler t J. Hudgman's OTTA
and Super Bowl Champion. That's right, Plexico Birds. You can
only name a show with that type of talent on it.
Up on Game We're going to be sharing our real
life experiences loaded with teachable moments. Listen to Up on
Game with Me LaVar Arrington, t J. Hudgman's OTTA, and
(33:32):
Plexico Birds on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast
or wherever you get your podcast from the hell is
this two pros and a cup of Joel Fox Sports Radio?
Good Christ ROBERTA, who's this? What? What? What band? Or
(33:53):
musical act? Is this? Fun? Like? That's it? That's your name? Fun? Interesting?
Very interesting? Yeah, I don't. I mean I thought it
was a girl at first, but yeah, I guess it
is guy. Well, I mean I didn't know we're going
to go that direction. Wow, Lead the lap coming in hot?
(34:14):
I mean you won't have Lee. Yeah, that's sad stuff
like that, won't we won't work out standing? Correct? Leroy
to lap? Yeah, I mean he came back from Jamaica Queens.
He just he just man, that's it's just going hard.
Brady and I've been working with every years. What happened
to him? Brady, he's just changed. That lead to lap
has changed. I mean, it's it's just incredible. What has
(34:36):
happened there? Very interesting. He seems the same to me.
I don't think really much has changed. Okay, alright, thanks Brady.
Top the next hour, he sounded lightly there. That's what
I'm saying. He's not that's not Leroy, that's Lee. Yeah,
Yeah that was you know, what does he become Leroy?
After a couple of drinks. Maybe yeah, all right, Um,
(34:57):
that's on the situation. Definitely lead the company he's keeping.
He's probably gonna call Ryan Kelly to see if, Like
it depends on where he's at the company he's keeping,
they might be better being leroy and get a better
deal somewhere else. Hey, bright LaVar, you can say that
we can't, that it's unfair. You can go down that
(35:19):
road away. I don't know what you meant by that.
I mean it was pretty it was. That was pretty
straight and narrow right there. That wasn't that wasn't rationally driven.
What do you mean? I don't know. I don't know.
But is Brian Kelly ever going to live that down?
I don't know. No, I don't. I don't think you
can you can live that down? Yeah, the changing your voice.
(35:42):
If they win a national championship, it probably won't matter,
like people won't use as if they never do, then
it will be like this was the moment you know,
you knew what was gonna go wrong? All right, but
you do know the question that then becomes, if they
win a national championship, does he just go all the
way in Oh he's yeah, with that kind sort. I'm
glad we made this transition, like Lee's gotta go all
(36:03):
the way in if he wins a national championship. You
know what, that was really really creatively good. Yeah, you're good.
You're good for at least one really good one to
show up telling us not so much, but you show
so he clearly was good enough. You know what I mean,
(36:24):
I sand bag on this show. If if you weren't
the hits, you come ten am in New Eastern. That's
that's what it's donned every single Saturday. Uh yeah, Brady
is he's a real Saturday morning Saturday morning, you know,
because you've you've transitioned into being big times overnight, right, yeah, yeah, yeah,
(36:45):
it's that weekend stuff all right in his time for
something we do every single week on the show here
on two Pros and a Cup of Joe called this.
There are some good things that happened, and there's some
bad and then there's some downright ugly thing. It's time
four good, bad and lovely. Alright, lead to lap. You
(37:06):
are steering this ship ship, I said with a pea
a positive Uh. I've made that mistake before, so I
know to enunciate uh correctly there at the end of
that lee which way we go on here? Who's got well,
it's always best to start with some good news, So Jonas,
why don't you kick us off with some good news
(37:27):
for the week? You want the good This is easy.
We saw it Monday night. That would be Bill Belichick
and the New England Patriots. Phenomenal, phenomenal job by Bill Belichick.
My guy, I said it weeks ago when we did
our our Midway Awards here on fs ARE, I said,
Belichick's coach of the year. Uh, they're, you know, a
four lost team who are really, in reality a two
(37:48):
loss team based on how the finishes went in a
couple of games previously in the season. Belichick's the coach
of the year. That was a masterclass that he put
on three pass attempts. If you're a big fan of
old school football, that's exactly what you grew up on. Uh.
And then him wearing the Navy mask, Uh to do,
you know, try and pay tribute before the game with
a little Naval Academy type offense. I thought it was phenomenal.
(38:10):
And also at you know, Knox locks at the Patriots
plus three. So there it is another two and one
performance there. So my good goes to Bill Belichick in
New England Patriots. Well, it's not all good. What's bad
this week? Brady? I think there's a lot of things
you could call bad, right. I mean, we talked about
the Brian Kelly fake Southern accent? What about man ideas
(38:31):
putting out that letter after he was fired by University
of Miami, and people up there in Philadelphia and Temple
are going, wait, didn't you do this to us? But
now your outrage someone did it to you. It seems hypercritical.
But what takes the cake is what came out yesterday,
and it was the I don't know if it's a
press conference for Link and Riley at Southern Cow. It
literally became h it went viral and became its own
(38:55):
SNL skit as someone actually dubbed, uh the what's up
with that? Uh skip from SNL next to the Lincoln
Riley press conference, which I gotta be honest with you,
there were moments in time where I was like, I
don't know which is which. I really couldn't tell if
it's an SNL skit or not. It looked like it
was filmed on someone's iPhone. So there's some free pub
for the iPhone. But it was it was just bad.
(39:17):
That's that's the only way I can describe it. I
do think the team will be fine, They'll be able
to overcome all of this. But I don't know who
the hell set that up. But for a place in
l A to have a press conference that was produced
like that not a good look. That was bad bad.
And then there's downright ugly LaVar what was ugly this week?
Well we just heard it. You know, your boy man,
he he's he's out. But think about it, Mario, crystal
(39:40):
Ball is in and Oregon is out. In fact, they're
so out TI but though don't even want to play
in the in the bowl game? Out out and out
and out? Where does oregons and go with? What does
the O and Oregon mean today? Out out out out,
down right out ugly? Opt out? Yeah? Opting? Now? Can
(40:04):
I a see, guys about Thibodeau? Is he as good
as I know? Mel Kuiper has got him as his
number one draft prospect, he's his number one guy in
the draft. Is he as good as everyone? Hutchinson? Hutchinson
is the best defensive player in the country right now,
you ask me, Yeah, I would put him in Will
will Anderson up there too. I think Will Will Anderson
(40:25):
has had an unbelievable year. Um, he makes it look easy.
I don't know. Look, there's some times on film where
you see Cavon Thibodeaux do some like freakishly athletic things like, uh,
what's what? What's the guy in Cleveland right now? Yes,
that's where you're hitting. No. I was gonna say, he
reminds me of like another like Dion Jordan's kind of
(40:47):
another Oregan prospect. Yeah, well, things didn't work out for him.
I'm not saying that's gonna be the same for Thibodeaux.
I just worry that you don't. He sometimes disappears in games,
he's sometimes you don't see the same effort at times
in games, and I just I wonder how that transition
is gonna be for him, Like I don't worry about
it quite as much for Hutchinson, because Hudginson, like whoever
(41:07):
he went up against, he was palling. I mean, he was,
he was doing his thing. So, UM, I don't have
as many concerns about that. What was the number of Yeah,
I heard you say it on the Dan Patrick Show.
The number of pressures Hudginson got in that game against
Ohio State. Jesus. I mean think about that. So you're
talking about and how to stay through the football, I
want to stay with thirty forties times something like that.
(41:28):
It's almost he's pressuring. Unbelievable. Yeah, that's that's awesome. Um,
but you know, Will Anderson, who was Brady pointed out,
got screwed by the Heisman Committee. At least Bryce Young
defended him yesterday said he should have gotten some love.
So there's others that all right. It is two pros
(41:49):
and a cup of Joe. Here. Fox Sports Radio our
