Speaker 1 (00:01):

season on your head with James J. J. Jackson? Whose
head is he jumping on this weekend? Can't wait to

mind again. Spring games, you know they're here right now

all that and more. Hour one coming at you. Let's go.

it on and off the field. And now here's Pro
Bowlers LaVar Aryton, t J. Houshmansana and Super Bowl champion

you're enjoying it. If you want to check out myself
g J or Flexico on the Twitter, check out at

box Sports Radio as well. Listen live on the Box

Radio app or listen to us on Serious XM eighty three.
We got a lot to get too, fellas. How you're feeling.
How you're feeling today, I'm good by ready to go

(01:52):
as always been feeling in. I feel great. Man. It's
a beautiful day, man, beautiful Saturday. Feed on the ground, Tintes.
Let's do what we do. Okay, well, well let's do
what we're doing. Let's go uh into Arizona. All right now,
let's lambar. You see how you just said Tin Toes? Yeah, hey,

(02:15):
this is kind of crazy. What is Prime say? Now? Yeah?
I was thinking the same thing, but I was like,
I was about to say that Prime. Hey, I love
me some Prime. Yeah, you know that's my teammate, you
know what I mean? But man, I was thinking the
same thing thing, like, yeah, I don't know anyway, the

(02:36):
ark you know, hey, Kyler Murray might have tin toes
down and his ass on the couch, uh, seemingly if
he doesn't get a contract extension done. And and it's
it's interesting, Uh, they get the GM signed, they give
an extension to him, they're give an extension to the

(02:57):
head coach, but they didn't get it to Kyler Murray.
So obviously the scrubbing of the social media pictures did
not help in the negotiation at least thus far. And
now it's seeming as though there's a possibility that Kyler
Murray may not play if he does not get the

(03:19):
contract extension that he's seeking. What what's your guys take
on this? Do you think that this is a good move,
a good decision leverage wise? It seems like the way
uh contract negotiations are are taking place in this new
age I'll say of NFL players, Um, it seems to

(03:40):
be kind of like the wild wild West in terms
of how you go about getting your new contracts. What
what what's your guys take on it? I mean, number one,
it's when when you start dealing with contracts and things
of that nature, is tough, especially as a quarterback, because
very rarely do you see a quarterback not get a

(04:01):
deal many beliefs he deserves. But when you when you're
looking at number one holding out, it works, it doesn't work.
But you don't want your quarterback to be upset, disgruntle
not wanting to be there because as soon as things
started to go bad, all he's gonna do to us
best friends is on the team. Yeah, man, clieve Kensbury, Man,

(04:23):
I told you brother dude don't know what he's doing. Look,
look when he called this, we should have called that.
And that player is gonna tell another player that's gonna
tell an agent season over. This is when when you
gotta look at Arizona, when Kyla Murray got there, they
were terrible. He goes five and ten, eight and eight,
nine and five. They have been much much better. What

(04:47):
Kyler Murray is a quarterback, and so quarterbacks of his
stature they've gotten an extension if they wanted it. Lamar
Jackson doesn't want his. And so Arizona is in ain't tough.
That he's small, he's getting hurt, but he's not having
major injuries and he's not tearing his a c L.
He's not messing up his shoulder. He has changed the

(05:08):
fortunes of that franchise since he since he got drafted.
Why they don't want to give him an extension, I
don't know, but I know when they started putting that
stuff out there. Oh, his social media scrub, Oh he's
hard to get along. They did that to make him
look bad. It's a reason why. So there's some disconnect
that they're having with him that we don't know about.

(05:30):
But they put that out there for a reason. I
don't know what. I don't know what Colin Merrage worried about.
I really don't. I think Eric Burkhard, his age, is
giving him some horrible advice, because listen, we we all
want to be paid. We all want to be compensated
for what we're thinking we deserve and what our current
market value is. Us as players, we we value ourselves

(05:55):
based off of what we see our colleagues received. And
I get that. I understand you're talking about Derek car
Matthew Stafford, DeShawn Watson, Aaron Rodgers. He's watching all these
quarterbacks get these extensions, but he has to realize that
he still has three years left on his deal. So
I don't understand what he's trying to accomplish by saying,
you know what, if you guys don't issue me a

(06:16):
new quarterback going to go into the season a new contract,
then I'm not gonna play. That doesn't help him, that
doesn't help the organization. He's the best fit for that team,
So just go out and play football. If you're looking
at your colleagues, DeShawn Watson, all these guys getting all
these large contracts, say to yourself, you know what I'm
gonna do. I'm gonna go out and have a better
season than them so I can show what my what

(06:39):
my value is to this organization or somewhere else. It
may not be in Arizona, but for him to come
out and say I'm not gonna play if I don't
get a deal, but he I don't think he can
throw himself into that realm of the elite quote the
top five or top ten elite quarterbacks in NFL. I

(07:01):
was in a similar situation where Listen. I was in
the same situation with Colin Murray. I wanted a new
deal and I and I still have three years left
on my contract, and Jerry Riches was like, listen, man,
we're not going to give you new contract. You still
have three is left on your deal. But I was
in a different situation because I was just coming off
winning a Super Bowl, eleven hundred yards season, twelve touchdowns

(07:24):
and lead my team, lead my team, and said, listen,
I just want to be compensated for the work that
I put out the n field. We are we we are,
didn't win a world championship, and I'm a twenty feet
highest paid receiver in football. I just want to get
paid what I think I'm worth. And they was, and
they was like, you know what, We'll work with you,
and I end up getting my deal even though I

(07:46):
had three is death on my contract. But Kylin Murray
is not in that situation to where you know what
I'm gonna lead. I want to make forty plus a
million dollars a year. He has to go out and
play and prove his worth. So the errors of the
Cardinals can look back and say, you know what, let's
give him what he deserves. But right now, I don't
think he's afforded nig all of your quarterback I'm gonna

(08:08):
tell you all this, but after I tell you about
downloading the Draft Kings app and using the code up
on game to get a free side at millions of dollars. Yep,
I crobarded. You know why because it's millions of dollars
up for grabs this week with your first deposit minimum
file dollar required. Eligibility restrictions apply to see Draft Kings
dot com for details. Make sure you do that. Um
I I did that read because I'm wondering is there

(08:31):
going to be a line that comes out as to
whether Kyler Murray will play this year without a contract
if he does get a contract extension. I wonder what
the odd business for both parties. The Cardinals are gonna stink.
You're gonna get fined if you're kind of Murray. Look
across the league, how many teams truly need a quarterback?

(08:53):
They're not training them in division to Seattle, so they
are out of it. How many teams will actually trade
for a quarterback? You could possibly say one, maybe two
if they don't draft. One is the Panthers and the
Commanders Washington. Outside of that, who else? Who else They're
not gonna trade him in division? You never know? Because

(09:18):
it seems that the New York Jets in the New
Land Patriots do it all the time. How I'm gonna
tell your team. That could be interesting. And you hate
to say it based off of the circumstances, but there's
a possibility Pittsburgh might be looking for a quarterback. Now,
I mean it's sad to say, but I mean that

(09:42):
I told a lie with that, because after the Kansas
City after the Stellers lost to the Kansas City game,
Mike Tomlin got on and sure helps to have a
dual threat mobile quarterback, and he was insinuating just that
because I'm just saying I was not mobile. They went
and got that boy, Mitchell Trobisky. Come on, come on,

(10:03):
all right now now I'm talking about speaking of Come on, now,
you mentioned the Commanders that would be an interesting fit.
I'm gonna tell you another one that would would be interesting.
We mentioned Atlanta. We mentioned the Pathers. The fit. Now
this is weird because they do have Jalen Hurts. But
if you had, with all that draft capital that you have,

(10:24):
if you could get ahold of Kyler Murray through trade
with with with draft picks, would you do it? If
you're who, if you're Philly? Is it is it really
that much of an upgrade? Uh? Is that? And while
I feel like I should say no, I have to say,
based off of what what the bodies of work have

(10:46):
been in the pros, it is definitively and then and
then I say, oh, who is Hopkins throwing too? And
who has Hurts been thrown too? Okay, he's had the
same head coach. But it's Philly looking at it that way,
t J. It's Philly looking at It's saying, Wow, we
have all these draft picks sitting right here. We do

(11:07):
have some talent. We we have some talent up front,
we have a strong running attack. And if we were
to add a guy like Kyler Murray, how like that's
like you're you're bringing in a smaller version of of
Donovan McNabb. And we know they had a great run
with five a quarterback. I mean again, if I'm looking
at Jalen Hurts, it it seems like they're preparing themselves

(11:28):
to take a quarterback if Jalen Hurts doesn't do well
in this year's season. So, if you have an opportunity
with a guy who wants an extension that that you
may feel is worth that, why not invest the draft
capital to try to bring in a Kyler Murray? And
you go to what I said, earlier, the Cardinals put
that out there about his personality. Does Philly want to

(11:50):
deal with that? Jaden hurts as a leader. I'd have
seen him out here in the offseason training. It's guys
he don't even know and when you run a route,
try to do it like this because it tells me
like he's just a natural leader. So do they want
to go from that to what Kyler Murray is perceived
to be, which is a non leader? In question? You
gotta be careful if I'm if I'm looking at teams,

(12:12):
I think one of the teams that makes most sense
to me as the Tennessee Titans, because I think you're
Mike Verybe when you're looking at looking at your quarterback situation,
I don't think you're going any further than with what
you did last year with Tenne Yeah, with Tannehill. You
look at with Derrick Henry bring to the table. Now
now you're talking about misdirection runs with Kylin Murray coming
off the play flake getting getting him out in space

(12:34):
on one on one, they're gonna be They're gonna have
eid in that box with with what what you're giving up?
What you're giving up because you can also say, hey,
if I if I'm listening, Tennis Tennessee is a good,
very good football team. No, no, what I'm saying Tennessee
giving up because of Tennessee? Do you give up? But
I really think you can give up a first round

(12:54):
pick and this year's draft to get because it's gonna
be more than that. Did you just see that's it?
I don't know. I don't know what the Arizona is not.
If you're one of these teams and you've got to
give up multiple ones, do you give it up multiple one?
Do you give up? Do you give it up for
Kyler Murray? Or do you just say, huh, I wonder

(13:16):
who has the first pick next year and I can
just get Bryce Young instead? Huh? I wonder if difference?
If you if you want to win right now, then
you gotta do what you gotta do to win. Is
it a definite? If you want to hang your hat
on a bright Young to Muslin next year to two
or three years down the road, then you might. But

(13:38):
it is it? Is it's good or different personalities? But
is it? Is it an upgrade? Number One, we're late
in the off season. We're late in the off seasons.
Have started, and so Kyler Murray going in any team
right now, is it a definite upgrade at quarterback? Because absolutely,
you gotta you gotta learn people and you how to

(14:00):
learn the playbook. Well, I'll tell you this, it's it's
a whole lot of conversations that are going to ensue,
especially if a contract extension doesn't seem imminent for Kyler Murray.
We'll keep you guys locked in and loaded in on

It's on your head. You're listening to Up on Game.
Came into that fight music. Welcome back into up on Game.
You know why we got that fight music. Well, your

(16:11):
boy Baker Mayfield, he's feeling like he's in the fight move.
We're gonna get to that and tell you why he
feels the way he feels in Well what could that mean?
All right? But right now, yeah, jump on that head.
Let's get to on your head. It's like this, I'm

(16:31):
on your head with James Jackson. Oh whose head is
he on? What you got? Look y'all, y'all know I
don't have any problem calling teams out right, especially when
I feel like they've been under performance. And I feel
like a lot of people have been taking easy on
this team in particular, and I'm not sure why not

(16:52):
me though, the Los Angeles charging just like the lightning
boats that Juice swears, I'm on your head, not like
people seem to be talking about the charge of shortcomings
in the past two seasons, and I'm not sure why.
But for as talented as they are, this is a
team that, for the past two seasons has been sitting
on the couch for the start of the NFL playoffs

(17:12):
and I don't see it getting any easier this season.
We've all seen the off season moves that have taken
place in their divisions. I mean magic, every team in
the NFC West is retoling. They're starting to call that
division the wild Wild West now. So last years is
let me give you this Will Smith smack in the
faith then as a wake up call, because we know
how electric the Bolts can be. Pun intended by the way,

(17:34):
but I need to see them take the leap into
becoming a playoff team this year. And last season they
had their chance right Week eighteen and a win and
get in situations. They lose to a division rival in
the Raiders, and again Mr postseason, which was weird to me.
The Lightning Bolts not supposed to be the one getting shots,
But then again, they're not the first players to lose

(17:55):
up the hands of Vegas right, just as Calvin Ridman.
It's a real traumasing Los Angeles charging team led by
one of the best young qubes in the league. And
yeah it's magical when her before we voted. But I'm
done giving out participation trophies to this team. I used
to see them the next step this season. I'm on
your head. M hmm, alright, So I loved it because

(18:21):
everybody seems to be really high on the Chargers. So
it's almost seemed like it's out of left field, like
your blind side and cats with it. But when you
really think about it, you gotta believe that right now
today Kansas City vulnerable Denver. We don't really know what
Denver is gonna be. I mean, you are assuming, we're
assuming they're going to be a contender, even a championship

(18:44):
caliber contender because of the addition of Russ, But do
we know that for certain? And and then you look
at the Raiders. All right, they add Davante Adams and
and they just gave gave your boy a nice deal
and and car, but what are they going to be
new head coach? You know? And and and then what
last one off the Chargers. So it's like, all right,

(19:07):
the Chargers seem to be almost and and in some
type of way in pole position to be the leader
apply themselves to taking over that division. I mean, what
what do you guys think about that? I mean, there
is no clear cut where are the favorite? If you
ask me what y'all think, No, there's no clear cut favorite.

(19:28):
But I'm gonna be honest, like these last uh quite
a few on your heads. And me and j J
was we was in agreeance. We were seeing from the
same lands right now, right now, this one, hey, listen,
like what the charges of number one? If you look
at that division, every team has had a major change.

(19:52):
Russell Wilson coming in as the quarterback different, the Raiders
new head coach, very different, Kansas City losing a He's
who I believe meant a ton to how teams game
plan and viewed them. The Chargers stayed the same in
that department, same quarterback, same head coach, same offense, but

(20:12):
got way better. You had kill little Maxim there. You've
got Mac and Bolsa. You've got J. C. Jackson, Sandy Samuel,
Derwin James in the secondary. Is not too many teams
top to bottom. When you look at their team from
top to bottom, where's the weakness? I don't know what

(20:34):
their secondary secondary? And J. Jackson in that Corte, Samuel Jr.
Both safeties, Derwin James. I mean, make it through a season.
He made it through last year. Yeah, Ja, I gotta

(20:55):
disagree with julis Man, I really do. Uh. Listen, listen,
I'm dawn with you because you're right up the street
of everything in Philadelphia. But you're talking about this, you know,
adding Khalil back to this defense, man, I don't think
people really understand what he's going to bring, you know,
to this defense, especially playing on the on the opposite

(21:17):
side of a Joy both. So you're talking about two
guys on the defensive line who need doubles or need
to get chips. So the offense is gonna have to
really pick who they want to double team and block
because both of those guys can get to the quarterback.
I think if the Charges want to take the next
step offensively, they have to add a wide receiver in

(21:41):
the draft or make a trade somebody like a crisolarvey
Or or Jamimes Jamimes Williams from from Alabama. They have
to take that step offensively to add with Keenan Ally,
Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. But they have to add
a star receiver with some speed if they want to
take the next level. But right now, to win that

(22:04):
division in the a f C West, I just got
to go with the Raiders. I think with the Raiders.
I'm going with the Raiders for not not for not
for the addition of for the addition of Chandler Jones.
That ain't happening. That is why I'm hey, man, listen,
the guys underrated. He's one of the premiuer sat get

(22:25):
us over the last you know, five six years in
the NFL, and he doesn't get their defensive front. Is
nice to him? Max Crosby, Yeah, I'm going. I'm going
with the Raiders to win this division. And I think
you're out of control. Though you might jump on his
head for that one, j Ja, you stay over there,
control boy, I don't. I don't blame you, and let

(22:47):
me let me crap on myself a little bit. I'm
not here saying that the Charges are gonna win the
NFC West. I'm not sure if I would print them
at this moment too. But we just named all the
talents that they have. You start with Justin Herbert and
then you go down the west of one of the
best wide receiver tandems in the league and Keenan Allen
and Mike Williams. You have talent all over the defense.
It's top to bottom a very good team. And to me,

(23:08):
it just leads the question wondering of why we haven't
seen them in the postseason. We know that the change
of City Chiefs have been at the top of their division,
but there's been avenues to get into the playoffs these
times two years, especially having not win and get in situations,
and to see them lose it through a team in
the Raiders that had so much you know, turn one,
so much up in the air with them last year,

(23:28):
to me was just disappointing. So when I see them
coming in this season, I just have a focus on
the lost terms with charges of I know what you
can make big auditions. I need to see it. Actually, wise,
they have they have a gym, they have a diamond
in the rough, and and and uh and justin Herbert.

(23:48):
People didn't even know how good this guy was because
he wasn't even the starting quarterback until Tyrod Taylor had
this a little incident with with the whole each other
long type of thing. Listen, he's still extremely young court
back and he's only going to get better. He's going
to be one of the top five quarterbacks in football
pretty soon. Al Right. He might he might already be.
He might already be. JJ re appreciate you coming on.

have trending, Sir, LaVar? We have the NBA Playoffs tip
it off at the top of the hour in Dallas,
Game one between the Mavericks and Utah Jazz. Earlier today,

(24:54):
Dallas head coach Jason Kidd confirmed that Luca don Chech
will indeed not play today because is strained left calf.
On Friday night, the play in tournament concluded with the
New Orleans Pelicans routing from a thirteen point fourth quarter
deficit to win on the road over the Los Angeles
Clippers what oh five to what oh one. The Clippers
played without star Paul George because if health and safety protocols,

(25:17):
New Orleans gets the eight seed in the Western Conference.
They'll play at one seed phoenixoffs. Now we're just gonna
find something to do. Even even the Pelicans made the playoffs.
We actually have audio of the current basketball scene in
Los Angeles. Oh no, oh no, at home at home.

(25:45):
Earlier Friday night, the Atlanta Hawks got thirty eight from
Trey Young. They won on the road at Cleveland, what
oh seven to one oh one. Atlanta will play at
one seed Miami in the Eastern Conference on Sunday. And
speaking of the heat there start bam at a Bio
has been cleared from health and safety protocols. He is
expected to be available tomorrow. Finally in the NFL. And

(26:06):
here's where the three of you come in. Now, it's true,
you guys didn't necessarily made quarterback money, but you made
NFL money, So you guys are the perfect people to
consult about this business. Den dot com reports that new
Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife Crra have purchased
a new home for a Denver area record twenty five

(26:31):
million dollars. It's a twenty thousand foot square home in
Cherry Hills Village, Colorado, including four bedrooms, twelve bathrooms, a
nine car garage and an indoor swimming pool. Incidentally, the
previous record for a Denver area home was set by
former Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan. He paid nearly sixteen

(26:53):
million dollars for a home that's just a couple of
blocks away. First of all, what do you guys think
about that? And secondly, like I said, you guys are
on a different tier than the rest of us. The
ratio of bedrooms to bathrooms, Man, I don't understand that.
I'm not getting the house with twelve bathrooms and four bedrooms,
No way at all, No way in the house. Look,

(27:15):
it's a house connected to a resort, is what it is.
That now, when they say bathrooms, they're meaning bathrooms with
with uh with bath bathtubs and shawls, so not powder rooms.
It probably has a room. Who gives it? Damn it's
a full bathroom. Who gives it? Damn? You got That's
how you got listed. So you got all these bathrooms,

(27:38):
so few bad people can't even sleep over, So we're
gonna be using the bathroom. People can't even sleep over,
they don't have a room. They don't have a room.
Who are using the bathroom? You have? You you and
I both know you have rooms that could be bedrooms,
you don't designate them as bedrooms. You come on, man,
don't have that money. T J. You just built the crib.
I'm putting you on black. You just built a crib.
T J. You know that four bit rooms might not

(28:00):
mean four bedrooms. I had my house. My I had
a thousand square foot house, all right, and if you
really look at it, I had four bedrooms and not
twenty square foot house. They never had a house that big,
all right. But I don't know what I'm that's out
my tax bracket, y'all to talk about that? Stop stop

(28:22):
just stop it. Stop it on nationally syndicated radio. T J.
Who's your mom? Stayed backus of us? All? I'm assuming
right now? What what's your what's your spects to bedrooms
and bathroom? What? What's the ratio it really making as
to be four bedrooms with nine bathrooms? But just like
you said, I have actual bathroom. Oh yeah, that's it's

(28:44):
an entertainment house. They entertained the better. The better question
is is why is it configured that way? And why
did they pay as four bedrooms? You know what, ain't
nobody staying over here with us and our children there,
we're gonna we're gonna have some fun. We're gonna into team.
But ain't nobody sleeping over. So in other words, you
got the bid, you have the home. It's a four

(29:05):
bed room home. It's a four bed room home, is
what it is. But the rest of it is your resort.
They bought a resort home and a resort that's what
it is. Well, you know you can do those things.
I think he just sold a Seattle home for thirty
six million, and when you're making forty million dollars a year,
you can do those kind of the numbers seem to
work out. And that scenario. Speaking of Hey, and speaking

(29:28):
of Seattle, I'm glad you brought up Seattle because I'm
gonna pay off this tease. Baker Mayfield is in the news.
He's a feeling a certain type of way about how
the organization disrespected him. But the question was to lead
to will he end up in Seattle? And it doesn't
seem like they just signed Geno Smith. Now I'm not

(29:50):
saying we're gonna use that as that's the reason why
Baker Mayfield isn't going to go to Seattle. But how
likely is it that Baker Mayfield ends up in Seattle
now out they've signed Geno Smith. I've said this, I
said this from the beginning. It's one of the places
that I think that Baker may Baker, Baker Mayfield is

(30:12):
best fit for. With the departure Russell Wilson, I think
when everybody's antennas went up when Marcus Mariota signed and
went to the to Atlanta Falcons. You're talking about a
quarterback that has been a backup quarterback for two years
and now he's going to assume the starting position to
being a quarterback in Atlanta. And Baker Mayfield has been

(30:35):
the starter in Cleveland for four years. So that lets
you know right up talking what these organizations think about you,
and you should definitely be worried. And now you're sitting
on the outside looking in, trying to find some takers.
And now these organizations are looking at you like you
don't add that much value to us, so why would

(30:55):
we bring you into the fold? And he's sitting as
the current backup quarterback of the team that drafted him
first pick Ton Washson, and now you cannot get any
takers to be a starting quarterback. I think he needs
to be worried because there's no you have no idea

(31:17):
where he's gonna end up at. But for right now,
the best situations for him is to either get traded
with the killing Brown said, that's not gonna happen. And
who's going to give up two or three first round
picks of Baker him? Nobody's going that. They got to
redo his contract too, that's the thing. You gotta redo
his contract. Seattle is the best spot for Baker Mayfield

(31:37):
right now, and it seems like that's the only destination
that he has. Listen, it's Seattle or nobody. That's number one.
Number two is he will not be getting another deal
wherever he goes. That's a fact. You gotta prove yourself.
He just he's not in first round pick. Has Marco
Mario to proven himself. Listen, listen. Now it's person anality,

(32:01):
this personality so so so so. Now we're talking about
person Now we're talking about how well like Now, yeah,
you're talking about how well you like product that you're
a plex if nobody cares how much if if you
if you were a receiver playing for Baker Mayfield and
you liked him, and you cared for him and you

(32:21):
felt like what was being said about him public I'm
talking about as a person and as a friend. I
cared for me right now. Listen to me. Listen to me.
Would you not come out and say, Bro, all this
stuff you're talking about Baker this, you're not saying that
nothing that if you were the receiver defense. Nobody has

(32:43):
come to his defense body and so that shows you
right there. He's not well liked in the locker room.
So you talk about going to Seattle plex, they will
give up nothing more than a six round pick for
Baker may Field. You talk about a one, Cleveland will say,
please just take them. They don't want to pay the salary.

(33:05):
A first round pick not gonna happen. Second round, six
or seventh round conditional draft pick for Baker Mayfield. It's
Seattle or nobody, but we Baker. When you when you
look at Baker, y'all, remember the record of Cleveland Brown's
uh when he was drafting right there here before it
was bad before he got there. One in fifteen on
in sixteen, one in fifteen on in sixteen. So Baker

(33:28):
has a point. He's looking at it like bro y'all
won one game in two years. We did more than
that my rookie year. Put some respect on my name.
Put it on my name. I'll tell you what. Don't
be surprised if he gets when he gets, let go,
if he end up in Pittsburgh. By the way, if
they don't at this whole kylam not gonna have a
watch him end up in Pittsburgh. Draft Kings the NBA

Fellas Like, it's spring football time, man, and I know
I know for me and you plex you know it's
it's such an amazing and fun filled weekend when we
have a spring game, unlike at Oregon State when t
J was was there, or how it goes on down there,

(37:11):
they probably you have about you know, fist six people
that show up and say hello, but but for us
and be still hybernating or something. How How how was y'all?
How was y'all spring games though? For real that way? How?
How tell us tell us all about it? We want
to know? Go ahead, plex, I let you all my

(37:36):
my spring game, man was it was highly anticipated for me.
I remember like it was yesterday. Uh listen. I rocked
my spring game, man because I just knew going to
the game I was going to get a single coverage
and Nick Saban wasn't going to play double coverage on
on his own his own offense. And man, you know what,

(37:57):
like the stars aligned for me that day because what
I started with I ended with and I kind of
put all that together. I had thirteen catches, a hundred
yards and three touchdowns in the spring game. And then
I played against the University of Florida I had I
had thirteen catches, a hundred eighty five yards, and three touchdowns.

(38:17):
So my first college football game was the exact same
as my last college, and I said, you know what,
I started what I I started. I ended what I
started with. And I was like, you know what, it's
time to take that jump and go to the next
level taking my talents to the NFL. Go ahead, t J,
what you got? That what you got? Come on? You
know what. I'm not I remember it, but I don't

(38:40):
uh recall everything. I get to Oregon State out of
junior college, and this is what I do remember. I
leave California get the cor valance. I'll never forget this. Man.
It rained like thirty days in a row. It was
like thirty days in a row. And I was counting,
and I was like, why what am I doing? Like
you conditioning? Were conditioning out in the rain. It's every

(39:04):
single day. And then we get to the spring game.
I just remember y'all know how I am. I kind
of like talk a lot, uh during practice. Indicame right,
no trash, I'm going at it with the defense. But
I ain't gonna lie. They was tattooed me. They was
trying to tear my head off. Bro like, hey it

(39:26):
we We had a safety bro uh named Calvin Carlyle.
I called a seam route. He tattooed me and got
up talking trash. That's when that was my last play
because and we gotta I got it and we start fighting.
Um always getting kicked out the almost two hundred yards

(39:48):
in the spring game, like Plexico, I didn't have that.
I don't recall the stats of it, but I do
remember though, just being out there raining all the time,
and it was one for me at that point in time.
That was my third year playing football in my entire life,
so for me, that was fun, like okay, we can
do Okay. I watched some of these dudes on TV,

(40:10):
and I'm out here competing with up So that was
my mentality more so than let me see if I
can get two Hunter, it is let me see what
I could do against some of these guys that I've
seen on TV. M you know, I'm going up to
state college this this next upcoming week four for a
spring game, and you know I've been sitting there and
spent such a tremendous ride as as a Nickney line.

(40:31):
And I can recall my first spring game was after
my freshman season and I didn't play much, so I
was I was kind of you know, I was upset
that I didn't play much, but I was. I was
piste off to be be better, like I wasn't gonna
be denied. And and it's crazy because coming in the
spring game, I still wasn't with the starting unit. A

(40:52):
lot of people don't know I didn't start till after
my third game of my my sophomore year, when we
started Big ten play. I didn't even start in the
preseason and of it, so in in in the spring game,
I'm on the other team. I'm not with b Short
and Courtney and all of them, and uh prove hey,
but me and Pooky, me and James Boyd were on

(41:13):
the same team. And all I remember was there was
probably a total of five assassinations that took place during
that and I was responsible with probably too. James Boyd
was probably responsible for three of them. And it went down,
and all I could recall after that was the amount
of attention that I got going into the parking lot

(41:35):
into the tailgates. I was like, this is a matter
of and it's just beautiful and I love living here.
Shuts out to the blue and white. We secondary that
we had we had like four we had like four
hundred six five, y'all told the offense. I had two
hundred defense to be ashamed of that. They should be

(41:57):
listening to this and slap themselves right now. We're too up.
