(01:02):
as hump Day, but broadcast professionals, we decided we don't
want people to interpret that any other way, so you know,
it's just a Wednesday for us here. Yeah, rock on, Uh,
sprinkle some crack on him, Johnson. So guys, it's good. Hey, Uh,
(01:25):
A three time pro bowler is back. He is back.
It has been way too long. Now can you guess
which three time pro bowler this is? Can you guess
who we're talking about here? The three time pro bowler
that made his triumphant return back to the NFL yesterday,
I mean, big time return. But you want to take
a guess? Okay, very that is a solid guess. Unfortunately
(01:49):
that is incorrect. That is that is not correct because
he would have to make one Pro Bowl to even
make three, So that is not correct. Brady, you want
to take a guess at this? I have no idea.
I mean it's literally so vague without any hints, you
might as just move on. Oh, he's getting his paper.
(02:10):
Deshaun Watson is back. He is back. He has showed
his face. He has reported to the Brown's off season program.
Deshaun Watson is back. Everybody, Yeah, let's back, let's back. Uh.
He looks relaxed. Uh, no tension Uh he Uh, this
(02:36):
kid is blowing. But Deshaun Watson is back. He has
showed up to uh to the Brown's offseason program all
smiles Deshaun Watson. Uh and uh so while he is back,
Unfortunately Baker Mayfield is not, which is a blown opportunity
in my opinion for Baker Mayfield, because if you want
to make the Cleveland Browns awkward, Uh, Baker Mayfield should. Yeah.
(03:00):
Why not just compete? Compete? I mean, did they allow
you compete with? What? Bro anything? You know, they gave
the man two or thirty billion guaranteed. I don't care
what they competes with unless Deshaun Watson ends up being
(03:20):
unable to play for some you know reason for the
next year or two. It I don't I don't really
foresee the purpose of Baker Mayfield hanging around. You got
a job, Yeah, it's voluntary. It says I can find
for not showing up now. I mean, I'm just saying
you got a job. I would keep volunteering. Uh. You know,
(03:42):
just the older I get, like if I were to
give my son or my extended sons the guys I
mentor any advice that would be impactful in a moment,
in a situation like this, it's always the whole adage
of control, those things that you can control and and
pray for the wisdom and the discernment to know the
(04:03):
things that you can't Now. While I know you can't
determine what your start, your position on the team as
a starter is going to be based upon circumstances outside
of your control, you can still go in there every
day and compete as a professional, you know what I mean,
and and to me and feel good about knowing that.
(04:24):
It's not easy to have a job. For one, it's
not easy to keep a job, and it's not easy
to have a job that's paying you what is it
eight million dollars? Are you really advocating for Baker Bayfield
to show up for a job could be traded from
it's completely voluntary. You know how much that would say
(04:44):
about the class level of who he is personally. I
don't think it says that anything that he's not showing up. Yeah,
well I don't think it just kind of expected. See
the thing about it is is when nobody cares and
when something is expected and you do the thing that
in like regular work America, there would be nothing wrong
with him sucking it up, gutting it out, and going
(05:07):
in there and being there with his teammates until they're
not his teammates, because for now today they're still his teammates.
Show up, I Tonagada, would I listen. I like awkward.
I think it's funny and I like seeing people in
awkward positions. I would show up and make things on
the reality he's hold on. He's doing them a favor
(05:28):
because he's not creating this. He's not creating this sort
of mess or distraction. He it's Deshaun Watson's team now,
and he's letting him go in there and be the leader,
the one voice that whatever else they need him to
be moving forward in a new era. That's what this
really is. So he's not letting them. He has no choice.
(05:49):
So it's not even uh, maybe may if you can
show up if he wants to. He's just choosing not.
To some degree, the team would would rather him not
show up to avoid any awkwardness or avoid potentially getting injured.
I mean, at this point, the only thing that stops
a potential trade from happening is he can't pass a physical.
(06:10):
But think about what you're saying. If he shows that,
I've thought about what I'm saying. Actually before the show,
we're gonna talk about it. I thought I didn't think
we would have people who are advocating showing up to
a voluntary offseason workout in Cleveland. And I feel pretty
good about what I thought about. And listen here, here,
here's another way of looking at it. Think about this.
(06:33):
If it's going to create such an awkward scenario in
a situation, and he's doing them a favor, why not
show up and forced the hand of the Cleveland Browns.
It's already forced. Well really, but are they gonna say, Baker,
you know, good to see, you're glad you showed up,
(06:56):
or or is that going to force them to do
something in turn, to say we don't want you here
or don't come back or whatever it may be. They
can't do anything until they find a trade partner that's
gonna equate to the value they want. And if they
can and they and they get through the draft, there's
still no offers. Then you have to wait to some
(07:17):
point later on where you take the best case offer
it's there, which may not be good, or you cut them.
But there's no reason to sit there and try to
rush through moving on from at this point, and so
you can get some sort of compensation in in exchange
for him so that's why. I mean, but him showing
up does nothing whatsoever. Possibly, they could possibly force their
(07:39):
hand like okay, Baker, what do you want Like cut me?
If I know that you're gonna cut me later, cut
me now. It may force them to have to rethink,
like okay, well, we're gonna move on this timeline. We're
gonna see until the last moment that we can if
we can get a trade out of Baker Mayfield. I
think they already know that, but if he shows up,
(08:01):
if he shows up, they may be uncomfortable enough to
just say we don't want him here. Just cut them.
It's possible, I mean, I mean that's the that's the
other reality. Yeah, I mean, but that becomes a story,
and I have further that furthers the disrespect of what
Baker Mayfield is talking about. I mean, it could stay faced.
(08:22):
It could work in his advantage, you know, it could.
It could force I think that we are wasting a
lot of It's it's just like Sean Payton coaching for
the minmy Dolphins. You missed the first segment, but Sean
Payton is also not coaching. We keep talking about it now.
He thought it was amazing that to hear your your
(08:42):
your explanation. I thought that was worth the price of admission.
If you ask me, oh man, I look, I think
it would be. It would be fascinating to see how
awkward things would be if he showed up. But no,
he's there's no chance he shows up. He's he's got
a the proverbial red ass towards the organization. Understands it's over.
He's got to move forward now. I'll put it this way,
(09:05):
whether DeShawn Watson came to the Browns or not, Baker
Mayfield wasn't showing up, So it doesn't matter whether Watson's
there neither awkward. He wasn't showing up. They already crossed
the line that he was not going to go back on.
So the reality is him showing up now doesn't accomplish anything.
Whether Watson was there or not. He already stated he
(09:25):
wasn't going. It actually would show if Baker Mayfield showed
up now, it would it would indicate that he's even
more petty than people realize, because because he wouldn't show
up if Deshaun wasn't there, until if he showed up
now knowing they just paid a guy two thirty million
dollars and and are looking to trade him. That would
just show you that I'm going to be a Baker advocate.
There's no telling if he was going to show up
(09:47):
or not, if they had gotten Yeah, I know, I
know we say things publicly. Sometimes we can change our
minds about, you know, our approach to it. I mean
that happens every once in a while. Um, Now, do
you think Deshaun Watson is going to be answering questions
at all? Or or did they did the first go
around go so poorly They're like, you know what, just
(10:10):
you know, pretend like you got laryngitis. You know what?
The better question is have a discussion. They should have
him talk to the media. I probably not based on
the first time, but they should control the media press conference.
I mean, that's that's what they probably should do. But
here's the better question. The better question is how many
questions and does it take for it to be the
(10:31):
conversation about what's going on one with him. I'll give
the Cleveland media credit for this, and Brady would know
there's playing there better than anybody. They don't. They're not
ask kissers. I mean, it's proba of the reason why
Baker Mayfield had a problem with Tony Gross and Mary
Kay Cabot, like they're gonna they're gonna go at you
hardy fanboys or fan girls. Yeah, I mean, look, I'm
(10:53):
sure it would be much nicer to write about the
team having success. You could ask them that two years
ago and what that was like when they were winning
more games and going to the playoffs. But they're gonna
do their jobs their professionals that. There's there's no doubt
about that from my experience being there and even even afterwards,
you know, watching how they've kind of held accountable that organization.
I talked to a radio station up there yesterday just
(11:15):
about the whole situation, and I was very candid. I
think there's been other media members who are pretty honest too,
about the the surprise that not that they went after
Deshaun Watson, but the level of commitment they've given him
when there's a lot of question marks surrounding his availability,
depending on the legal situations his if there's any rusts there.
(11:38):
He took a year off of football, and then the
decision of the organization to give him that contract when yeah,
we touted the fact he's a three time pro Bowler,
and he definitely is one of the better quarterbacks when
playing at a high level in the league. But it's
it's even at that point. I mean, there's still a
lot of risk to all of it. And it wasn't
(11:59):
like he was the number one target for teams this offseason.
You know, he was playing second fiddle, third fiddle to
Aaron Rodgers if Rodgers wanted to move, which he didn't,
or Russell Wilson, who wanted to move and he did.
He got the Denver and he's still behind all those guys,
And so I kind of sit there and just go
it is it is? It? Really? Is this the direction
(12:19):
the Browns want to go? And is it in a
better direction? Like we act like because of this move,
the Browns are now all of a sudden back to
being a contender? Are they? They're not making the playoffs.
I've said it from from the jump. They won't make
the playoffs. It's a harder division. I think you guys
would agree with that. And more so than that, it's
it's different football now. Deshaun Watson played in South Caroline
(12:42):
in college and in Houston, and now you're going up
and playing outside and your home stadium and in the
rest of your division and inclement weather, that's a different
world to play in. It's different conditions to plan. How
does he handle that? Like, there's a lot of there's
a lot of questions of about I mean, there's it's
there's no doubt he's a better athlete than Baker Mayfield
(13:03):
was at the quarterback spot, and maybe that pairs well
with their rushing attack. But I don't know, man, I mean,
is even on the field is still a question that
I don't know that we can definitively answer at this point.
And I know it's only April, but you that's always
gonna be linger in the back of our minds until
we know for sure the league is not going to
suspend it for any number of games. Yeah, it's gonna
(13:23):
be interesting to see how this plays out. But again,
he is back, Deshaun Watson is back. Relaxed, Uh, you know,
just really calm. Looks like, yeah, just completely focused, no
distractions whatsoever. It is two pros and a cup of Joe.
Fox Sports Radio LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knoxally here
on FS are coming up next. Uh. One aspect of
(13:46):
the NFL has completely changed what it means moving forward.
We'll have that discussion with you right here on fs ARE.
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar Errington, and
Jonas Knocks week days at six am Eastern, three am
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio
(14:07):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with the here on
fs are coming up a little over ten minutes from now.
There's a coach in the NFL who apparently did not
do enough research on one member of his staff. We
will get to that here coming up a little over
ten minutes from now. Um yeah, just uh yeah. Everybody
(14:28):
wants to uh, you know, be viewed favorably by by mainstream.
So there's there's that. Um Now, the the wide receiver
market in the NFL is a lot different than it
was even a few months ago. All these guys are
getting paid. Now you've got other wide receivers like a
J Brown, Deebo Samuel. They're not reporting to their off
season programs. Terry mclauren. Uh, he's not reporting to the
(14:52):
start of the program, but I did see that he
does plan on showing up. I'm not sure how how
that is handled or what that does, but all those
guys are looking to get paid. Uh. You've seen Tyreek killed,
Davante Adams. Uh. You know, Cooper Cup even talked about
wanting to get something done eventually, something that's fair for
for both sides. It just feels like that entire position
(15:14):
group has completely gone above and beyond what I think
a lot of people expected them to be, Which makes
me wonder how many wide receivers are going to get
drafted now just because teams look at them as a
much cheaper and affordable option as opposed to paying some
of these guys in the league already. But that's always
the case, right, I mean, there's always going to be
(15:34):
cheaper labor coming into the NFL every year, which is
the constant battle. So it doesn't mean these wilde receivers
won't get paid. Um. And I think the interesting thing
about all the names between A. J. Brown and Deebo
Samuel and Terry mclauren is they were all second or
third round picks in the case of mclauren, so their
contract comes up or at least this dispute or discussion
(15:57):
comes up a year ahead of time. You know, usually
you've got to make a decision on the fifth year
option right now, not whether or not you're looking at
trying to extend the guy. But there are some things
working against them. You know, for example, they're under contracts.
If they don't show up, they will be subjects to fines.
And on top of that, if they want to really
push the envelope and say I'm not going to show
(16:19):
up this entire season until I get a new deal,
well you wouldn't get in a crude season, which means
you would still stay another season away from getting to
free agency. So it's almost like the year basically what told,
It's almost like it didn't happen. So that that's where
there's really no threat behind sitting out the entire season
(16:40):
because the team knows you're not gonna do it, and
the agent and the player know they can't do it
because it doesn't do anything outside of you not providing
your services and pushing this off for another year. So
it's it's kind of a tough spot for a lot
of these, you know, guys on rookie deals to be in.
But it's always been the case, and you know, with
(17:00):
the way the the Rookie Waite scale has been slotted
now in the two most recent c B A s,
it's always gonna be the case, you know, and you
can make the case. All of these guys are outperforming
their deal. I mean, Deebo Samuel went for over four
yards receiving last year. That doesn't even include what he
did running the football, but that was his best season
by far since he's been there in San Francisco. You know,
(17:22):
A J. Brown has been over a thousand yards and
led them in receiving um basically since he's he's got there,
or at least he didn't two of the two of
the seasons. Terry mclauren, same thing, almost a thousand yards
and every one of his seasons. So like they've all
outperformed their contracts. It's just a matter of like how
much are they expecting to make because the market at
the top has gotten reset with Tyreek Hill and Davanta Adams,
(17:46):
And I don't know that we're lumping those excuse me,
those guys up there with with you know, as far
as A. J. Brown and mclauren and Deebo Samuel with
Davanta Adams and Tyreek Hill. So you know what these
extensions are gonna look like. The timing of all it's
complex and this could drag on for a bit, but
I mean, if we've learned anything for the last segment,
you guys probably think they're all they all should show
up to the voluntary workouts, I mean for entertainment purposes.
(18:11):
And that was that was my whole point. I'm Baker
Mason the first It's the first time that I realized that,
you know, Q couldn't let it go. I mean, he
just he couldn't. I'm just certain I'll bring it back
full circle. It was full circle. It was definitely full circle.
You know. The one thing I think that Giselle said
one profound thing during the course of Ton of Us
(18:33):
hearing quotes from her um as it applied to Tom Brady,
which was, he can't throw the bleeping ball to himself.
And you know what She's correct, Guys can't throw the
ball to themselves. You know how Aaron Rodgers becomes a
prolific passer by having someone who can catch the ball.
(18:55):
You know how Tom Brady gets to where he's going
by having someone who can catch the ball, and and
this league has continued and has persistently and consistently and
aggressively worked to make it safer and safer work conditions
for that position group. They have opened up the floodgates
(19:20):
for that position group to become the most important position
group in many cases outside of the quarterbacks position. And
I think what's taking places, as you've seen the value
of the running back diminished, is as greatly as it has.
The one thing that you want to be able to
do on the defensive side of the ball is a
(19:41):
get to the passer, be cover, cover the receiver, and
and those are the things that you want to do.
You don't necessarily need somebody who's going to be able
to stop the run per se, as your main point
of emphasis on the defensive side of the ball. So
the idea of it is that you gotta get somebody
(20:01):
on the offensive side of the ball that can can
stop the pass rush, somebody who can deliver the ball,
and someone who can catch it. In the order of
importance on the field has been placed on the receiver.
And I think that these agents realize it. I think
the players realize it, and now they're starting to approach contracts, situations,
(20:22):
and reviews the same way quarterbacks are. They're not going
to get quarterback money, but they're pushing. They're pushing to
get the market higher for receiver money. And you know what,
it doesn't it turns into if if it is received
that way, it now turns into a market that has
to respect that. The talent at that position is starting
(20:44):
to it's it's starting to be a it's the next
guy up. It doesn't necessarily have to be does his
talent level equate exactly to the person who got the
highest contract. It just becomes this is the next guy up.
He he's not as elite as this guy, but he's
the elite guy on their team. He's producing, and he's
(21:08):
going to get paid. That seems as though that's where
the white right wide receivers position is hitting. What do
you think it does to the lower levels. Do you
think that there's coaches out there that are telling players
that maybe a guy who's a running back, like, hey, dude,
like for your future, like start learning how to catch
the ball, start learning done that? Are that are chains
(21:31):
positions right like that are go to go be a cornerback,
go be trying to be another position that's that's valued.
But the tough part about like being a running back,
is the complimentary pieces is linebackers. And unless you're an
edge rusher, you know where you're impacting the quarterback, you're
you're not valued as much. I mean, there's five positions
that are that are out that are basically taking up
(21:53):
all the allocations salary cap quarterback, tackle, edge rusher, cornerback,
wide receivers, those five positions. Everyone else is just trying
to get a piece of it, and if you're at
the top of your position, you'll get a good amount.
But other than that, I mean, your value is created
based on longevity, special teams. I mean, it's it's just
hard to convince anyone to pay you more based on
(22:15):
the way the league's going right now, unless you've got
some extreme ability like a Tyrann Matthew who is extremely
versatile um or you know other people you could throw
into that conversation. Bobby Wagon is obviously one of the
best of his position with doing a bunch of different
things a linebacker, but it's it's hard sledding nowadays to
make the type of money that I think a lot
of these players are hoping they'll be able to make.
(22:36):
It's just crazy, man, because we grew up and running
back was such a valuable position, and it just feels
like every year there's less and less important or value
placed on the running back spot. It's it's crazy to
see how fast this is turned to, where like even
going back, you know, ten years ago, or you know,
like an Adrian Peterson or even before that, a LaDainian Tomlinson,
(22:58):
it just feels like, unless you can catch the ball
out of the backfield, or you've got multiple guys that
can play that position, Derrick Henry is such an anomaly
and who the hell knows how much longer his body
can hold up. There's just there, there's no talent. So uh,
two pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio
coming up in fifteen minutes from now, another edition of
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. We're gonna hand
out some midweek awards here on FS are um So
(23:22):
Greg beach Um, who covers um the NFL for the
a P. He had a quote, uh that he tweeted
out UM from Sean McVeigh, the head coach of the
l A Rams, talking about his defensive coordinator Rahee Morris,
who is still on the Rams staff, and Sean McVeigh
had the following to say, quote, it's a reflection of
how far we have to go because he's one of
(23:43):
the best coaches in the world and the fact that
he isn't a head coach is a crime. Uh So,
basically what Sean McVeigh is saying is that, um, the
fact that somebody in the NFL hasn't hired a guy
who's seventeen games under five hundred as a head coach
in his career for another head coaching opportunity, they should
be arrested. So that's good from us Sean McVeigh there.
So apparently it's a crime now that Rhee Morris has
(24:06):
not been hired as a head coach. So I assume
had McVeigh got into TV, it would have been Rahee Morris.
You would have been a head coach. I mean McVey
easily could have done what Bruce Arians did. Wait until
you got to a certain point in the offseason, you know,
slide into a TV job and then elevator. He Morris,
(24:27):
I mean, he's he's had opportunities, Like he coached in
Tampa it was bad, and then he took over in
Atlanta for a short time after dan Quinn got fired,
and it really didn't get much better. But it's just
like the idea that like everybody's being blackballed and being
held out of opportunities, and I just like at some point,
like the numbers have to add up, and they're not
(24:49):
adding up, Like I just I don't understand why this
is still like like it's like almost like every it's
a race to see who can get you know, the
most likes or or a round of applause from people
in the media by saying, yeah, the NFL has got
a problem, and you know what, you know, thank god
somebody else is speaking out about it. Speak out all
you want, but the numbers are there. The guy was
bad as a head coach in Tampa. I don't get it.
(25:12):
Some coaches that have gotten other opportunities haven't been the
most successful in their their first stints or sometimes even
there their second ones. But I will say there does
seem to be an overwhelming feeling of people trying to
make it a simpathy, make themselves sympathetic figures by approaching
(25:36):
it the way that you're saying it, Jonas, I will
say there is something to that. Um but I also
think that sometimes we may get a little bit so
caught up into thinking it's that that we can't even
just take and listen to s McVeigh feeling that way
about somebody who was the defensive coordinator of his Super
Bowl winning team. So if you go even a step
(25:59):
before the idea of there's this race to see who
can gain, you know, the the sympathies or the empathy
from the the audiences out there, um, the groups that
are out there that that are seeing them take a
stand for a minority coach. If you really take a
step back, Rockey Morris is now a Super Bowl defensive coordinator.
(26:24):
So could he have just been saying, wow, hold on, like,
let's just take a moment and think here. Could he
just be saying, my defensive coordinator that, by the way,
had the most dominant player in the game on his
side of the ball and was probably the main reason
why we won this game and the schematics connected to that,
(26:46):
My defensive coordinator did a hell of a job. We
want a super Bowl. It's a it's a crying shame
if if he's not a head coach, you know, I
mean to me, sometimes we don't have to go out
of our way to try to say it is a
race thing, in terms of taking this step before saying
it is a racial thing, you know. I mean, it
just could be the fact that he was appreciative of
(27:08):
his defensive coordinator. I mean, but if he doesn't get
hired this hiring cycle, doesn't mean he's just never going
to get hired again. Like it just he didn't get
hired this time around. He just wanted super Bowl. Maybe
it's next year. Like, I just I feel like people
just they're trying so hard to push this thing out there. Yeah,
all the spots are taken. It doesn't mean there's not
(27:29):
gonna be opportunities next year. I just I don't. I don't.
I don't. I understand it, But I don't know why
this continues to happen and continues to come up wherehe
Morris is probably gonna get another opportunity. He did a
great job clearly there there's a lot of people who
like him, but it didn't happen this time around. It's okay,
Like if if you're Sean McVeigh, yeah step aside, go
(27:51):
to a TV job, let him have your spot. I
don't know, it just the whole thing is a bit exhausting. Yeah, Well,
like I said, the hype federical that I threw out,
there is something that actually took place with Bruce arians
where he took it into his own hands to help
one of his assistants elevate to a head coaching job.
(28:12):
And I'll be honest with you, that's called innovation. Like
that's what you do. And and you can call it
a loophole with the Rooney rule whatever you want. If
you feel like there's something that needs to change, you
have to be the one to make the change. And
if Sean McVeigh, who look whether he left after this season,
this past season and want to get the TV, he'd
(28:34):
always have an opportunity to come back and coach because
he's been that successful during his short tenure. You know,
you could really look at his short tenure and say
it kind of rivals John Nudd if we're really being
real about it. You know, it's been short, but he's
been successful almost every single year. He's been a two
Super Bowls and one one. Like, I don't I don't
know that anyone would sit there and say, oh, he
(28:55):
went in to TV for ten years and we feel
like he's got some rust on him, really, I mean
with what he's done and then probably how he display
himself on TV. It's probably why he contemplated for so long.
But my point is this right now, whether it's Pete
Carroll who has impassionate when he talked about it at
the owner's meeting, or Sean McVeigh who's now speaking up
(29:18):
saying this, you're not helpless. You're not handcuffed from having
the control to elevate Raheem Morse, for example, into a
head coaching position. You just have to sacrifice and step down.
You just have to move on to something else and say,
I'm willing to give this up two because I believe
(29:38):
in Raheem Morris so much that I'm gonna step down
at this point and let him elevate into the spot.
And then what that does is it puts pressure on
the organization to do exactly what the Glazer family did
with Todd Bowls. You don't just give him the interim
tag and go through this year and then you know,
focus on a head coaching search in the off season.
You go ahead and give him a head coaching deal.
(30:01):
And so that's what it comes down to is if
you want to make this sort of change, you have
to be the change. And I know this sounds preachy
and cliche and all that crap, It's true. Like Bruce
arians wasn't just speaking about it, he acted on it.
It's so different than what I said yesterday about Pete Carroll.
You can't sit there and talk of Colin Kaepernick when
you need a quarterback now and not be willing to
(30:22):
give him a job. Let him come in. Let let
him come in and be there for the offseason, see
if and see how preseason goes like. Don't just talk
about it, be about it. That's what I get tired
over this whole narrative is we got all these people
want to talk like it's not worth anything. Go go
be the change, Go make the change. You are not
powerless to do so they can do it if they
(30:43):

Executive producer, who's got what this week? As we do
every week, we start with the good. Brady, let us
know what was good this week? Yeah, football is back,
baby usf foul is back. We've got football in our lives,
actual games being played. You know, are their chains on
(32:57):
the yard markers? No, of course there's got chips in
Football's what what happened? It's happen? Um? Look are the
football's fully function with the chips? And of course not,
that doesn't matter. We're gonna overlook that football is back.
We've got guys out there, different camera angles and things
(33:20):
going on. I love it. I know it's not football Friday,
but here we are on on hump Day or Wednesday
talking about it. It makes me happy, It makes me smile.
M alright, Lee, what else for the bad LaVar? Let
us know what was bad this week? You know, so far,
I'm thinking it's the Hawks. You know, after last year
(33:40):
we got so excited about Trey Young and and just
the maturation of of him and his game and the
way that they were able to play. And then they
come into this season and or this this playoff year,
and right now they're getting wiped up by the Heat. Now.
I know the Heat are a good team. I know
they're probably one of the favorites to come out of
(34:01):
the East, But man, can we do better than a
two oh start to the series? I mean, can we
make it a series? Can I see a little bit
of the cold blood trade Young? It's been uglies, but
well it's been bad so far. I mean, I'll say
the ugly for Jonas? What is his ice Tray? Is
that the name? I mean, it's but it's like ice trade,
(34:22):
like as in like corpse right now? Serious? You know
what's a better nickname? Ice Tray or the Slim Reaper
for Kevin Durant. I like the Slim Slim Reaper is
pretty good. I think Durant hates that one though. I
think he said sniper now though Slim Reaper is great.
(34:43):
Though Slim Reaper is good. Yeah, I ain't going a
lot to you. Finally, you guessed it, Jonas, you got
the ugly this week. Well, this is easy. It's the
same ugly every single time, this this time of the year.
It's the opening round of the NBA playoffs. I'm tired
of it. Uh. We've got four teen games so far
in the opening round. Ten of um have been by
double digits or more. It's terrible. Uh, the NBA continues
(35:05):
to roll out a bag of crap every single opening round. Uh.
Very few of these games four to be exact, have
been anything worthwhile or anything close to even discussed or
be worthy of discussing. And for some reason they keep thinking, oh,
you know what, seven games series, seven game series. I
understand there's TV money, I understand it's probably not going
to change, but we're all sitting here going, God, why
(35:26):
aren't these games competitive. It's because you've got a seven
game series. As we talked about yesterday. If a team's
down by fifteen and the second quarter what are the
chances they're really going to step on the gas and
risk injury to get back in a game where they
got another three or four to play with. I can't
stand it. The opening round of the NBA playoffs is
bad yet again, that's the ugly How's that? How's that? Yeah,
(35:48):
it's it's been kind of ugly. I forgot to tell
you guys by the way, um and you know, happy
to to you guys here. That's a big, big day
for you guys. So I just wanted to say happy
for twice. This day has never had any meaning to
be whatsoever outside of the fact that one of my
good friends is his birthday Anthony Fasano today, So maybe
(36:13):
something different to him. Uh Miami Dolphins, great Anthony, that's right,
that's right. Yea yeah. So the old, the old big
Italian meet ball, that's what he's just a big, a
huge Italian person, Italian man, that's what he is. He's
a gigantic human being. Now is he considered a blocking
tight end. He's way more athletic than that. I just
(36:36):
think he's so massive that people just thought he's gonna
be a blocking tight end. Now you could do a
lot more he might be still be a little dark. Yeah,
well I smoked him. If you got him happy for
twenty everybody out there, I know a lot of people
are fired up that. Yeah, you didn't absolutely not. You
didn't know that was a big You don't think like
(36:56):
our friends in Denver, there there's not you know, parties
right now. I'm sure there's friends everywhere that are going
to have parties for uh dates such as this. Yeah,
I don't think that's unique to Denver. I'm just guessing,
though I could be wrong. I think I'm one of
the the one percent who has never partaken in the
(37:17):
hippie lettuce or walk the green Wolf before. You know,
it's so funny when people proclaim that they've never smoked
do we because it's like people who do smoke the
ue don't really brag about smoking the UI outside of
like whis Khalifa and you know how pronounced the U.
(37:39):
And then you can tell by the way I say
the ue the type of person that I am. I
do believe in natural greens very good. Well, well there
it is. I'm gonna believe it's two crawlers turn up green.
