Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio.
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox in here on FS are coming
up on the show. We've got more from the Deshaun
Watson situation, and it does not look good for de
Shaun side of things. We will discuss. We're also going
to get into the potential starting of a rookie quarterback
in the a f C. As we call our shots.
Brady Quinn's upset about something that happened in the NHL

(00:22):
game last night. Even though his brother in law, Jack
Johnson and the Avalanche won the game, we still got
some complaints. We've also got another edition of the b
Q News we get in case you missed it, and
it's a return of Headline or Lie plus the old
p Petros Papadakis. It's yours next here, Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe on a Wednesday, Fox Sports Radio.

(00:44):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. So right when you
think things have gotten bad, they take another turn. We'll
get into all of it coming up here in just
a couple of moments from now. It's two Pros and
a cup of Joe here Fox Sports Rade. Oh, it's
Brady Quinn Jonas knocks me here on fs are no
LaVar Arrington. He will be back with us tomorrow. If

(01:06):
you're hanging out with us on any of our hundreds
of Fox Sports Radio affiliates, we appreciate you doing so
We're gonna take you all the way up until nine
am Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific. Here on FS are
my guy, Brady Quinn. What the hell is happening? How
are we feeling? I'm feeling great? How are you feeling?
How was your how's your birthday yesterday? How did it conclude?
You know nothing? Just just hngue out. I gotta get

(01:28):
ready for the show man. All business, all business here
for those are listeners who don't know there's a backstory,
it's all this all right. Jonas claimed, this is we'd
worked together for years that no one would ever remember
his birthday. He wasn't special enough for us to remember
his birthday. I will admit, uh, part of that's probably
not wrong, not that he wasn't special enough to remember it,

(01:51):
but we always did forget it. And this includes lead
to lap our producer who needs to sharing some of
this playef is there's multiple time we would forget to
wish him a happy birthday beforehand. So um, that's why
now every chance we get we tell Jonas happy birthday,
because we we have a hard time remember even though
we actually remember this time birthday. And I was shocked

(02:14):
because I mean there's been times where it would be
the end of the show and I remember, I think
live Bet Jesus actually made a pick that you guys
were going to forget my birthday and and actually hit
one here, and I believe that's probably the last time
he's won a bet. Uh So, so yeah, this is
we've we've been playing this whole thing up for for
quite some time. But no, it was It was cool.

(02:34):
By the way, it goes to show you how passive
aggressive you are if live Bet even has to come
in on your behalf. I mean, I just think about
that for a second. Just it's all like, why why
are we lumping in passive aggressiveness with uh, you know, sarcasm?
Like I feel like we've skewed the lines here. When
LaVar gets back, how you exercise passive aggressiveness sarcasm? We

(02:55):
need to have a sit down and start clarifying some
of the rules on this fine system. And we've put
together because I feel like you've skated by without having
to really you know, pay any of this. And I'm
up to like well over a hundred dollars and fines,
which is just you know to me, I I don't
believe probably should be. First off, you need to be
donating more to charity. All right, yeah, well listen, uh

(03:16):
you know, I I'll you know, donating as many people
have helped you out, Bubba boy, throughout you know, your life,
you need to be helped out to help out that.
That is a good point. I appreciate it. Us. There is, folks,
Brady clear there certainly work. Oh man. Uh well, I

(03:36):
don't worry. Those will be featured in a headline or
lie coming up next hour as we we will give
out the details on how you can be a part
of that. Speaking of the details, this little detail came out, um,
I mean good god man. A twenty third lawsuit has
been filed. Civil lawsuit has been filed against Deshaun Watson, uh,

(03:58):
the Cleveland Browns quarter back. So this tax onto the
list of twenty two um lawsuits against him from massage sessions.
That that went in a way that maybe they weren't
expecting or planning to that Deshaun Watson tried to steer
in that direction. Yeah, and uh and so this is

(04:18):
a twenty three and this latest um action is because
the woman saw the HBO Real Sports special from a
week ago and decided to file the complaint. Afterwards, Tony Buzzby,
I saw the attorney representing all twenty two, now twenty
three of these women said that he expects there to
be a twenty four to come out soon. Um so

(04:40):
I knew that when the Real Sports documentary came out.
I figured, Okay, gonna be bad for Deshaun Watson. People
are gonna go this is egregious and outrageous. I didn't
expect that there's a possibility there would be more than
the twenty two that were set. Uh. Now we've got
this twenty three possibly four. Deshaun Watson's legal team has

(05:01):
already come out and denied these of course they did
as well, but nevertheless, what the hell, man, It just
continues to pile on and pile on. This whole situation
is a disaster, and I think it makes it even
more difficult then for the NFL to come out and
give him any punishment. Right, I mean, we've been waiting
for them to make some decision on what it means

(05:23):
for Deshaun Watson in the two season. And it's gonna
be incredibly difficult if more allegations, more lawsuits keep coming out,
because I'm showing you talk to the the Watson camp
that maybe Deshaun Watson, even his attorneys are saying, oh, no, two,
this is it. This is all there is to hear about. Okay,
maybe twenty three. Well, then there was the oh, by

(05:44):
the way, there's still the potential chance that criminal allegations
could be brought up at some point. Uh not now
that you know, they don't feel like they have the
burden to prove to do it, so they're gonna try
to do it a civil court. Okay. I mean if
you're if you're Roger Goodell and you're the rest of
the NFL out and you're looking at this, it's it's
an incredibly difficult spot to be in because if you

(06:06):
make any sort of decision now and things only getting
worse from here, then it it looks like many of
the other scenarios or circumstances they've been through before, where
they've they've you know, unfortunately haven't you know, maybe punished
players as much as they should, and then you come
out and see the photos, you see the videos, see
everything else later they don't want to be in that position.

(06:28):
I still don't understand why they don't use the commissioner's
example list. It gives clarity to the Cleveland Browns, it
gives clarity to everyone else. I think in this situation
that these young women for one second to just think
about this, if all this is true, and to look,
I'm not here to judge one way or another, but
there has to be some truth to twenty three, maybe

(06:50):
now even twenty four separate allegations. I mean, there is
a pattern here. They admitted something he had sexual at
least three of them. Let's just break this down, you
and me for a second, okay, because here, as I've
said all along, and I brought the suppe that's initially
happened just because it's it's consensual and you know he's

(07:12):
obviously paying for something in exchange. Is like what I've
read from all this, it's he's soliciting prostitution. And at
no point does anyone want to look at that and
call it what it is, because like, oh no, the
sexual acts were consentual. Oh no, no, no no, no, you
have to understand, Jonas. These sexual acts didn't necessarily start
when he was on the table. It happened after So

(07:34):
once he got off the massage table and it carried
into another room or something else happened. The massage was over,
that was what was paid for, and then there was
this this separate sexual act that was consensual. It's like,
hold on for a second. So if if you go
to a restaurant, Jonas, and you would theoretically have a
nice dinner and you had a nice you know, person

(07:54):
who waited on you, and then afterwards there was some
sort of you know, consensual activity, but you gave this
person a big time tip beforehand, but you knew it
was leading to you. You're not saying there's like a
gray area there. I mean, that's how this feels, or
at least that's how they're like building up this case
to be is like no, no, no, no, two separate things. Yes,
they happened three minutes apart, but what the But the

(08:16):
payment was for the massage, what happened afterwards was just consensual.
It's like, okay, are is that what we're really trying
to do? Right? Now, which are like blur the lines
between what we went from massage to sexual activity that
was consensual, because that's what it seems like their cases,
just the the whole details that came out, um you know,
from the HBO Real Sports to where it was. You know,

(08:36):
he showed up with his own towel. Well, I mean
I thought he was showing up with a beach towel
that you would see, you know, somebody you know, wrap
around themselves as they're leaving the sand to go use
those crumby showers that smells like sulfur so they can
wipe off the the sea salt and salt water off
their skin. Oh no, no, this is one of those
hand towels, like one of those hand towels that you

(08:57):
used to dry your hands after you wash him. Hopefully
you're still washing your hands, uh, you know, even though
a COVID is simmered down, Hopefully you're still washing your
hands after use the restroom. So he all this was premeditated,
like his entire approach to this stuff. Driving as far
as he did to go see some of these massage therapist,
he did multiple a week. There were over a hundred

(09:19):
in a year like this is like how you see
the numbers continue to stack up and continue to stack up,
and then just assume that na, na, Now this is
all a bunch of crab not I just like, what more?
And I understand the NFL is looking at this and saying, well,
if more keep coming out? I mean, are are we

(09:40):
ready to make a decision on this guy's future? I mean,
is there really a difference between twenty three and twenty six?
I mean, is there a difference between twenty three and
twenty seven? At what point does the NFL look at
this and go we gotta lay the hammer down, like
like we we cannot take the chance that anymore this
stuff is gonna come out. It's already an awful look.

(10:00):
It's an awful look for everybody involved. He can appeal
at all he wants. But the more that this drags on,
the more I'm thinking. And I threw out, oh, you know,
maybe he'll get popped a couple of games, and you
guys laughed at me, and rightfully so, because the more
that this goes on, I'm thinking, dude, I don't I
don't know that it's outside the realm of possibility. He's
gone for the entire season. I genuinely mean that. And

(10:21):
you've heard people float out the idea that, hey, look
at the Trevor Barros situation, you know, how would that
factor in on Deshaun Watson. It It feels a lot different, um,
And you saw how Major League Baseball handled it, So
I'm not sure And if the NFL is gonna go
to those extremes, Um, I'm sure there's some owners out
there with the contract that Cleveland paid Deshaun Watson kind

(10:44):
of shaking their heads thinking of all the guys like
this is the guy who eighty million extra guaranteed. I'm
sure this some owners who are kind of looking at
Roger Goodell like, so spend it for the season, like
doing the right thing. To get clarity on this, why
why are we highlighting a guy who's got all these
allegations against them? Like why are we promoting this and
then letting this guy go out in the field and play. Now,

(11:06):
the other side of the conversation is this, because you
do have to have both sides of this. Clearly, after
the HBO Hard Knocks came out, there was a chance
that there's gonna be a few of the people who
wanted to tag along I mean, we don't know that
these women who now potentially with you know that the lawsuit,
potentially we don't know that they knew he signed a

(11:27):
new contract. I mean when I was if that's how
they found out about it, they were unaware of the
fact that, hey, he signed a twin and thirty million
fully guaranteed contract. And from the from the standpoint of
Deshaun Watson and his camp, they might be saying, well, yeah,
they saw that he signed a two and three contract
and go, oh, there might be a settlement there. There
might be more money there. If this goes to you know,

(11:48):
if this goes to quarter, you take yours to court
and you can get some money. So you do have
to play both sides. I'm not gonna let the court
of public opinion, you know, ultimately, you know, force you know,
the the NFL into making decision here, but it probably will.
Like that's the reality of it. There's so many allegations
that the NFL is not gonna be able to help itself.
It's going to have to make a decision before they

(12:09):
have all the details, all the facts, maybe even all
the allegations. And that's the crazy part about this is
that's the only way they can probably play this safe
and say, yeah, it's unfortunate, but we're gonna have to
put the guy in the example list until we can
sort the stuff out. And when we're gonna and maybe
we feel like, and here's the problem with the NFL
doing that. You know, they might know the council for

(12:31):
Shaun Watson might say in the NFL, what's your justification,
what's your reasoning, and they're like several lawsuits maybe, and
they come back and say, well, yeah, the problem with
that is then you're taking away his ability to go
out there and play a market himself and clear his name.
And in our stances, he's done nothing wrong. He hasn't
been convicted of anything criminally. No one's even brought They've

(12:54):
tried to bring a criminal charge that didn't hold up.
This is all civil, And then it puts the NFL
on a tough off that standpoint, whereas if Deshaun Watson's
can't tries to make a claim that this only continues
to hurt him or hurt the perception of him, it
might not be wrong. So it is a this is
as sticky as gray as just however you however you

(13:17):
want to describe it. Yes, I'm not. I just wanted
to make sure now if my memory serves me correct
and and the details on this are are along these lines.
When Zeke Elliott got busted for six games, I'm almost
positive that the independent investigator recommended to the NFL that

(13:41):
there be no punishment based on her findings in the
investigation on the claims against Ezekiel Elliott. And still he
got pop six games, right, So I think there was
also a series of events that led to that, Like
he wasn't a first time offender, which is one of
the re is why you know that that it was

(14:01):
six games as opposed to two or four, That was
part of it. This is gonna be interesting because until
this moment, we've never known anything about Deshaun Watson doing
something like this. But clearly there's a pattern, and I
mean it's agreed just when you look at all the lawsuits,
they might be looking to say he's not a repeat offender,
but he was repeating what he was doing and there's

(14:23):
a pattern all this. We have to stop this. I mean,
I would, I would, I would. It would be crazy.
And this is the one I'm I'm I'm waiting for
because this woman claims the massage happened back in two
thousand twenty. I'm curious as to the timeline or time
frame of some of these allegations, Like it did some

(14:44):
of these come out while you know, all this stuff emerged,
Like that would be the crazy part is if he
continued to do it even though some of the lawsuits
have already surfaced and started to build up. That would
be the crazy thing to all this. And also, I think,
and we can't it's so graphic. Some of the details
from the testimonies are are so graphic and borderline revolting

(15:10):
that we can't read them on the air. But if
you go look at some of the things that reportedly
he was asked or in favor being done to him
or performed on him while getting the massage, how are
that many people making up the same story? I mean,
it just it just That's why the whole pattern and

(15:32):
the idea that it's all of force just doesn't make
any sense to me. I understand what you're saying, But
there there's also the legal team for Deshaun. Watson was saying,
it's a lot easier when you've got one attorney who's
representing all of them, and they are coming with the
same story. You'd almost rather say no, it's a little
bit different and different variations, and there are to a degree.

(15:55):
But that's the problem is his legal teams saying, well, yeah,
you've got all these people who who are trying to
shake him down for money, all with the same story,
all with the same attorney. We already saw that right
on the HBO uh special. I mean that's what That's
what his legal team is essentially saying, is this is
Deshaun Watson is a nothing wrong and Tony Buzzby is

(16:15):
just trying to course and coordinate all these different lawsuits
to get a big payday and get all this publicity
for himself. That's what they're claiming. So it's just as
much as you can say that, and I can say that,
that's what DeShawn Watson's campaign saying, God, what a mess
it is. Two pros and a cup of Joe. Here

(17:42):
later on this hour we will get into and actually
know it in about ten minutes from now all right,
I think somebody wants to air out a grievance. They've
got a certain rule in the world of sports they
would like to air out on the air. So that's
gonna happen about ten minutes from now here. A little
venting if you will, on fs ARE. How about how
about this? Huh Kenny Pickett Man? So much for Kenny

(18:05):
Pickett being the opening day starter that Brady Quinn was
bloviating about after he was drafted while we were in
Las Vegas, Because I mean, I'm looking at I see
Mitch Drabinsky getting the number one reps for the Steelers,
so I think it's a it's a done deal here,
Mitch Drabinsky all the way in two how about it? Huh?
The Mitch train rolling on in Pittsburgh. No chance. I mean,

(18:27):
I wasn't in Vegas. Let me just say that, because
you made it sound like I was there with you.
I was not. You know, you go, we go. You know, um,
once we started playing preseason games, it's gonna be really
interesting to see how two things occur. Mr Robinsky plays
but also handles the pressure that's put on him when

(18:48):
Kenny Pickett plays. I mean, think about how many fans
are gonna be there that a lot of people always
feel like, Hey, the NFL and you know, college football
fans are two separate things. That's true. You know, sometimes
you get two separate fan base. I have people who
come up to me all the time and say, hey,
you know, uh, I'm a big college football fan. What
do you think about this? And the others what they say, like, hey,
what do you think about NFL stuff? And and they'll

(19:10):
kind of it will usually be one or the other.
It's never both. It's almost never both. So in this case,
what's gonna be interesting is they play in the exact
same stadium where he played college ball, is the same
place he's gonna play in the NFL. And it's both.
They're both sitting right there in Pittsburgh. So it's hard
not to think there's not gonna be a lot of
the lums. There's not gonna be a lot of Pittsburgh

(19:32):
fans who also had to be Pitts, Pittsburgh panther fans
of the university all sitting there in Pittsburgh. And so
once Kenny Pickett goes in and I'm gonna go out
on a limb here. But when he gets in there
and going up against second and third third stringers, I
think he's gonna play well. And I think when he
plays well, it's gonna put so much pressure on everyone

(19:54):
else there on that roster that it then comes down to,
well they like Mitchell ture Whisky better look good for
a veteran quarterback who's been in the league and has
been a starter before, and it's going up, you know,
against other ones, but in the preseason, he better look good.
That's where you start to feel that pressure as someone
in that situation. So we'll see how he handles that

(20:16):
and then we'll see how how can you Pickert performs.
But I fully expect him to play well. I've talked
to you before about this. He knows the offensive coordinator,
Matt Canada was there when when Pickett was being recruited
to pit. So the reality is is he should be
familiar with the system. He's gonna be familiar with the
confines and everything else. He should feel really comfortable um

(20:37):
leading up to the season. And I would think that
him as much as anyone else has given his age
and experience. He'll be as NFL already as any of
these other rookie quarterbacks to play, you know, week one,
day one. So I don't know if he'll be the
Week one starter, but I think there's a chance that
he'll be coming in shortly after. You know, Trabisky doesn't
play well if it's close. All right, if you've seen

(20:57):
the two guys and it's relatively close, Mitch Trabisky obviously
looks a little bit better, but it's kind of close. Well,
why wait, why don't you start in week one? Like
if you go with the younger guy, I mean, because
you're you. You invested into Kenny Pickett, you really haven't
invested much into Mitchell Robinsky and and it and it
stinks for mitche Trobinsky. But as as my buddy Pete

(21:18):
Frisco and I talked about before, he always goes what's changed.
He's what's changed. He's like, it goes from Chicago Buffalo
after a year and all of a sudden, we're like,
the guy's different. He said, what's changed? And I was like,
all right, Pete like settled down, but he's he's not wrong.
I mean, it is like he went through a car wash,
just because he was in Buffalo for a year and

(21:38):
we expected to come out of their side and you know,
be this, you know, different player, whereas Kenny Pickett has
the ability to come in and maybe from day one
be a similar player, if not better down the road.
So it's gonna be interesting to see how this this
plays out. You know, I don't I don't know if
they're deeming it a quarterback competition, you know, howardly, but
I'm sure behind closed doors that's what it is. And

(21:59):
really Mike Toma just wants to do whatever's best to
win a football game. I'm sure he doesn't care who
it is. He wanted to play at a high level.
You bring up a good point, though, The preseason games
are gonna be so much fun there because that's that's
where he's going to get the most reps, that's where
he's going to get the most looks, and so that
fan base tickets are a lot cheaper. Oh my god,
Yngling's Iron City Iron City likes, you know, get Permanny

(22:23):
Brothers spilled all over their their T shirts. They're not
really v neck guys in in Pittsburgh. They're more of
a crew neck. So they don't. They don't go to
the V neck rout like you do. But they just
spilled all over their body, their torso covered with fries
and permanny juice everywhere. You know they're gonna have Kenny
Pickett energies. Yeah, you know, why do you put V nex.
I don't want a V neck in over a decade, No,

(22:46):
never once, not a not a V neck. H I
am big time V deep V step through the collar
to put it on type V neck. You know what
I'm talking about. It does. That's a good point. But
you know, these days, uh, these days we are all good. Now,

(23:07):
we are all good on that front. So I mean
there's some places um out there that have the week
one starter odds, some places that that have listed these
for Pittsburgh, and it's pretty even. The latest ones that
I've seen are our Trabinsky slight favorite at a minus one. Yeah,
to start week one. I mean you know that's this

(23:30):
is usually how it goes. I just to me, I
think Kenny Pickett's gonna play well. I think he's going
to be the opening day starter. I I really do.
And I think if you're Pittsburgh, look the reaction he got,
which is probably part of the reason why Ben Roethlisberger
was a little bit agitated about the whole situation. But
the reaction he got, you know, that fan base, that's

(23:52):
the guy they wanted. Whether he turns out to be
a good quarterback or not, that's the guy they wanted.
He played locally there. The only thing that would caused
me a little bit of hesitation. You tell me if
I'm crazy to think this way. The fact that they
open up at Cincinnati not exactly ideal for a week
one starter at quarterback. Uh, if you're Mike Tomlin, do

(24:13):
you look at it and go, do we really want
to start him on the road at Cincinnati, a team
that was just in the Super Bowl a few months
ago as a rookie. Does that make sense? I don't know.
We look at their defense is a vaunted defense, and Cincinnati,
So if it's from that standpoint, you've got tougher defenses
to go up against within the division. And it's not
like during the course of the off season, he's not
going up against one of the best defenses in the

(24:35):
NFL in training camp. Right He's going up against one
of the best defenses already, so he'll be prepared. Um,
I look at it and just I mean I worry
more about the fans there Sincnati. I mean, we do
know there're a bunch of boozehounds. It is it is
documented that no one consumes more alcohol in the NFL,
uh per fan than the Cincinnati Bengals. Is true? Yeah,

(24:57):
I mean, all of this is fact. And you know,
I mean, look, it's not like you know, I mean,
and the baseball team is so bad. I mean you've
got you know, players assaulting O No. I I believe
she's no longer around Marde shot and at last I heard,
you know, her dog used to take a crap on
the field there in Cincinnati. I don't know if that
is still the case, but you know, it's just it's

(25:20):
one of those things. And you know, our friends listening,
our loyal listeners on Fox Sports thirteen sixty there uh
in Cincinnati. I mean they can attest to this. I mean,
when you've got a player assaulting another player over fantasy football,
it means it's probably not going well for your baseball team.
So you know they're already reven the Engines for Week
one against the Pittsburgh Steelers, defending a f C champions.

(25:41):
So they're gonna be annihilated for that game, but it's
gonna be a lot of fun. You know, I can't
wait for football. Uh Now, a one eastern time start?
Does that impact the drinking at all? Or they just
start like three or four hours earlier than normal as
they as they get ready for that week one. I mean,
you're the Ohio guy. I'm just trying to how do
you play this thing. I'm explaining to you three or
four hours earlier that the start times the start time.

(26:03):
All right, you get up, you go to Mass. There
you go a bing, but a boom, and then now
you're going to tailgate. That's what you do if you
live if you live in the Midwest, that's what you do.
I don't care if you're a Bengals fan, a Browns fan,
a Pittsburgh fan. You know that's where you're gonna do.
You know you're gonna get up, you go to Mass.
After the Mass, you start going tailgate, and there's the
rest of your day. Okay, how soon after Mass is
it appropriate to have a cocktail? Um? You usually want

(26:27):
to get back to the house, get changed into your
Bengals gear and then at that point in time. You know,
you maybe you're probably packing up the car to go
over to the tailgate. You might not want to crack
one before you get there, you know, just go ahead
and wait to consume everything once you get to the tailgate.
Get it all set up. So you know, if mass
starts at nine and let's say it ends at ten,

(26:49):
you know, depending on the hobbling and how fast the
priest is. Um, I'm saying that you're you're cracking one
open by eleven. You're there at least two hours at
a time. It's one o'clock. Kick, you're cracking one at
least by eleven, and let me tell you something, and
then the second one is being cracked open at eleven
o three. That is how you preview Week one of
the NFL season in June. That's how it's done right there, Folks,

(27:11):
take notes, take notes. Watch you just hand over that
to Martin what they call Marconi. Why don't you just
hand that over right now? We can go ahead and
get that engraved. That'll look so nice right next to uh,
you know, the Marconi Award of you know, it's Radio
Radio Excellence. Um, yeah, that'll be like just imagine that, right,
next to your Emmy, to your Golden arm trophy you've

(27:33):
got from college. Just I was just I was just
in that that that opening. Look, that's why I want
to be invited on the set of Big New Kickoff,
just so I can also claim the Emmy. Like, hey,
you know I was on that show. They want an Emmy,
you know, Like I don't know if you know, I
just I feel like these are these are things we
gotta play into here. That thing is I don't even
think the show doesn't win the Emmy. It's just the

(27:54):
opening to the show, you know. Yeah. Well, It's like
it's like if you're a restaurant and you have a
great appetizer and it's award winning appetizer, is that really
what you want to be known for? Like, don't you
want to be known for your entrees being fantastic? Yeah? True.
It's like it's like the Mexican restaurant, who's got the
mariachi band on a Tuesday? It's like all the food sucks. Basically,

(28:15):
what you need the entertainment to bring people into. What's
the band? Uh? Wednesday? And last night was Tuesday? Hey,
what food did you eat last night? You know, some
little Mexican food for the birthday and usually don't Marriachi
bands come out usually like for like birthday celebrations, that
sort of thing. The place we were at there was

(28:35):
nobody in the restaurant, the only people in the entire
restaurant for the entire hour that we were there, we
were the only ones. So I don't know, it's probably
just playing in your year the entire time to do
something thrown on Pandora, did chili? I have no idea.
No chee cheese che cheese, chee cheese? No, No, I

(28:56):
have not gotten to cheat cheese. Have you ever heard
of chee cheese? Is that a strip club? No, it
used to be a Mexican restaurant. There you get like
endless chips and salsa is awesome, and then for your birthday,
you'd like stand up and they have a band come over.
You get to you know, put on a sobrero and
you know, play to play some music for you. I'm
a real deal man, Like I don't play that game.

(29:17):
I don't. I don't think it's a round anymore. Hey,
but but you know what, maybe there'll be some chea
cheese after the Bengals game next year. You never know,
especially a week one, they'll definitely be some Skyline Chili.
It's a good point, um, all right, it is two
pros and a cup of Joe. Here on Fox Sports Radio.
It's Brady Quinn, Jonas knocks and the here on FS
are we are going to get to us some complaints.
Somebody's got to complain about a rule in sports that

(29:38):
we'll get into that here momentarily. But for all the
latest from around the world of sports, ladies and gentlemen,
we welcome in the great and powerful Edmund Garcia. All right,
thank you, Jonas. We are still waiting for the NBA
Finals to start. That comes up on Thursday. The NHL
Stanley Cup playoffs, so it was zooming with the game
one of the Western Conference Finals where the Avalanche outscore
the Oilers eight to six. Jd for a couple of goals.

(30:00):
Kale mccarr had a goal and to assist for Colorado
and the win. Connor McDavid, the Edmonton Star, a goal
and to assist in a losing evert. Now, the Avs
did win, but they also lost their starting goalie Darcy
Kemper in the second period upper body injury. Didn't return
his status going forward unknown at this time. To Major
League Baseball will start with checking out on the division leaders.
The Yankees, top team in the a L East, beat

(30:21):
the Angels nine to one. New York now thirty four
and fifteen on the season best recording baseball. They got
a one game lead on the Dodgers and Mets for
that top overall record. Angels have dropped six in a row.
The Dodgers, with our own Roberto flora Is in attendance,
lost to the Pirates five to three. Segre straight night.
The n L West leaders lose to a Pittsburgh I'm
sure Roberto had to have an extra beer because of that.

(30:42):
The Mets, on top in the NL East, crush the
Nationals for a second straight night, ten nothing. The final
New York starter Trevor Williams and three relievers combining on
the six hit shut out. We had the Brewers, top
team in the NL Central, losing to the Cubs eight
to seven. Astros, on top of the a L West,
beat the A's three to one, and the Twins that
the top team in the AL side roll played two
in Detroit. Split the double header with the Tigers one

(31:03):
game one eight two. Lost a second game for to nothing. Elsewhere,
the Cardinals walk off of the three two went over
the Padres in ten. Rangers blank the Rays three nothing.
Giants with a segis straight night win an extra ending
game in Philadelphia, beating the Phillies seven four and eleven.
Blue Jay's edge the White Sox six five, Reds over
the Red Sox two to one, Mariners roll over the
Orioles ten nothing, Diamondbacks walk off with the eight seven

(31:23):
win over the Braves in ten, and the Guardians meet
the Royals eight to three. Coming up tonight, we have

Back to Brady Quinn and Jonas Knox in the Fox
Sports Radio Studio. Thank you, Eddie, coming up in about
ten minutes from now, we are going to have some
shade that was thrown by one player at a quarterback
in the NFL. Um Eddie, I have a just a
question for you. The the off sides call against that

(32:08):
that wiped away or I think the goal stayed. Um,
we're okay with that rule, Eddie last night in the
Colorado Edmonton game. I mean, did they get the call right?
I mean it's it's one of those things where it's
it's to me, they don't need to review the off sides.
I mean it very rarely is a big advantage. It's

(32:29):
usually you know, like a cinemeter or an inch one
way or the other. And is that really something we
need to be like reviewing. I know technically if you're
off sides, and you're off sides, but I don't know
that that's something that really needs to be It's I
don't think yes. Can I ask you this yes? Because
I actually I don't make this argument for soccer or
football depend on where you are in the world. Get

(32:50):
rid of all. I think it's the dumbest rule. It
is the stupidest rule to even have an off sides
because I think it takes away from scoring and spreading out,
whether the field or the ice. I've always hated it
in hockey, and I've always hated it and in soccer.
I don't understand the argument for why it's needed. I mean,

(33:12):
I'm so used to it in hockey. I mean, but soccer,
the field is so big it would seem to open
the game up more. You'd hope it will. I mean,
we are getting excited about a one nothing win instead
of it being like six to four. At least in hockey,
you know where the offside line is. The Thing that
bugs me about it so much in soccer is that
the guys will use it as a strategy to play defense,

(33:35):
and then they'll just stop playing and put their army
there and say, oh, he's off side, and then they're
just getting lazy, and it's like, come on, no, I
don't that's okay. By the way, last night's based on
what I saw a video, and I'm brooding for the Avs,
like hardcore. It probably probably what's off size, But I
don't understand the impact on that particular goal too. It's

(33:56):
like it should be it should be a you know,
a rule where that does it actually as Eddie said,
impact the play that had nothing to do with the
actual play itself, like the transition, the way it happened,
that had no impact on that that goal occurring. It
was just it's part of a stupid rule that to me,
in a confined space like that, that already feels so small,

(34:16):
Like once they go to power plays, then you realize
or if it's like a four on four deal, you
go okay, Like now the ice doesn't feel quite as
small when everyone's out there, feels so compacted. And they
scored fourteen goals last night, but that's that's an outlier.
It's not like it usually has that one scoring. That's
a lot of scoring. Man, he used to be didn't
feel like back in the day, there would be like

(34:37):
three to like that. That was the NHL. Now it's
just completely opened up. Just you got even Gretzky was
complaining about it, just like at some point you gotta
play defensive when I when I come, I mean, he was,
He's like, I'm the most offensive players ever been. He's like,
I'll even admit that, So well, you're not. You're not
gonna see eight six tonight with New York and Tampa Bay. Yeah,

(34:58):
By the way, if those you want dring Jack Johnson,
Brady Quinn's brother in law, not the guy who sings
at Hippie Rock at a pancake. Yeah he uh Jack Johnson, Uh,
you know, rooting interests here for Jack Johnson to get
to a cup. So that's why, all right, it is
a two Pros and a Cup of Joe here. Speaking
of cups on fs are coming up next. We have

(35:20):
got some shade that was thrown potentially at a quarterback
in the NFL. We will discuss right here on Fox
Sports Radio. Be sure to catch live editions of Two
Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar
Arrington and Jonas Knocks week days at six am Eastern
three am Pacific. Hey, what's up everybody. It's me three
time Pro Bowl La Warrington and I couldn't be more

(35:42):
excited to announce a new podcast called Up on Game.

with the here coming up top of next hour, little

(36:25):
over ten minutes from now, things are gonna get spicy.
It is. It is a yearly tradition in the world
of football, but this year feels a lot different. We
will get into that here uh in a little over
ten minutes from now, top of next hour on FS

everything in the world of sports or entertainment. Good thing.
The guys are here to bring you in case you

(37:08):
missed it. After that, we turn it over to our
executive producer, the great lead to Digital Lap Fellas. In
case you missed this, Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman, who's
entering his third year and now working with his third quarterback,
that being Matt Ryan, was asked how it is working
with him. He said this quote, the ball is just
right there and you just turn and catch the ball.
I mean, it just makes it easy. Matt can pretty

(37:28):
much put it wherever he wants. Now, some people are
saying this is throwing shade to Carson Wentz, who the
most he could say about him was, Carson just loves
to take it deep and I love it too. What
do you guys think a little shade thrown towards Carson?
Little graphic from you could read that into that however
you want. Lee, This is we're outside the safe harbor,
right radio training. I don't think you could say that,

(37:53):
Lee about Michael Pittman's past quote Carson Wentz, good God,
we hit the red button. Yeah, I mean I said,
I mean, I'm just I'm just reading quotes here. Where
did Michael Pittman play College Bowl USC? Oh, that's right
by the way his dad jacked Michael Pittman Sr. Like
how many how many curls? How many curls do you

(38:14):
think he does a day's and every day? Yeah, just jacked.
You know he's coming now. Matt Ryan's passed for I
mean over sixty yards in his career. Let me think
about that. Really, Yeah, he's really good at what he does.
He he's the guy we were talking about if he

(38:35):
would have won a Super Bowl, especially the year he
won m v P. He's a Hall of Famer. Like,
I don't fare any debate, he's a Hall of Favor.
He's in and not having that he still might have
a chance for it. But man, a tweet of three.
Let me let me ask you this on the if
you want to won a super Bowl? How is he

(38:57):
looked at differently if Cam Newton would have won that
Super Bowl? Paul favor, I mean LaVar said it the
other day though. You know when you start looking at
the impact of some of like Cam dude, who I
believe if I'm not mistakens like second all time on
the quarterback rushing list, Like he had a unique manner
in which had how he's played the game. And there's

(39:19):
something to be said for that, and it was good
enough to be the best in one year and and
you know, a Pro Bowl caliber player for a while.
So in my opinion, yeah, I think how do you
won that one? He probably gets in at least that's
a case. Yeah, what else we got? Lee Fellas In
case you missed it, cumes infielder Jonathan VR suffered a
an injury that sent him to the i R. We

(39:39):
were all wondering what it was. Well, now it's been
um reported that he was using an exercise band which
snapped back into his mouth, causing an injury that required
significant dental work. What okay, hold on are you are
you stepping on it? And so what what did you
like go through his foot like like a cut through
his foot and hit him in the rubber band? Yeah?

(40:00):
How did it hits you with such velocity that you
actually have to have something medically done? Or it's that
bad of an interest? I use these every day. It's
never one time ever happened or even come close. And
I thought you're gonna say is I I was like, yeah,
it makes sense. You get snapped in the eye like that, Yeah,
I could cause some damage. That makes way more sense

(40:21):
than your teeth. There's something by the way I use
weights to alright, what what that's unbelievable? Just I know
sometimes you can't have a big meal and you get
burpee when you do on your jog. Did it all right? Okay,
we're gonna play that game, all right, don't worry. I
kept receipts. Headline or lie. All right, I'm gonna feed
you your heart on headline or lie and tell your buddies.
I hope they're listening to their being featured in it.

(40:43):
Also a little preview. Uh but listen, now what kind
of dental work were talking about here? Did it knock
out several teeth? Did it knock out just to I
mean Brady's brother in law, Jack Johnson, has like no
teeth left. I mean, he's basically got dentures at this
point because of all the dental work he's had done.
So what are we talking about? Leads? Have any details
and how many teeth are knocked out? No details? Just
quote significant dental work. Gosh from an exercise bands. If

(41:07):
you needed dental work, and this is an excuse not
to get it, that's a great call. There's sick you
get hitting the nose by like a baseball or something.
They break from notes like oh no, I gotta do
nose job. It's like I've been waiting for this for
a while. That's been great call. Good for him. By
the way, the Cubs are terrible. Fox Sports Radio has
