Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Michael Barry Show. I really like Jordan Peterson, and
I find sometimes that listening to his thoughts and ideas
grounds me. He's given a lot of thought to why
we do the things we do, how we think, how
the Left has corrupted civilization. And you don't have to

(00:26):
agree with everything he says. I think it's very important
to be challenged by things people say and force yourself
to think anew. So some of you ladies won't like this,
some of you men won't like it, but give this
some thought. The other day, I was out on the
back patio smoking a cigar and I came across this,

(00:49):
and I hope it offers you the same clarity about
relationships that it did for me. It's titled the Problem
Men Often Have with Women.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Listen, this is a problem that men often have when
they're dealing with women. They leap to the problem solution phase.
And they also do that in some ways to avoid
and this is what annoys women because what the women
want and they don't even know this, but this is
what the women want. Women are more sensitive to threat
than men. Okay, so they're looking for predators. Now. Predation

(01:26):
detection is a it's an intuition. Anxiety is an intuition
something's wrong. Okay, what Well, then you guess what the
woman wants is to lay out all the things that
might be wrong. Okay, Well, the guy doesn't want that because,
first of all, you know, maybe your wife is upset
about something in relationship to your children and she doesn't

(01:48):
know what it is. So now she has to go
through everything she thinks that might be wrong. Well, even
for you to listen, that's going to be rough because
some of those things are going to be about you,
and you just have to shut up and you have
to let her put her cards on the table. Understanding, now,
she has to do it in good faith, right, she
can't be using that opportunity to skewer you. And so

(02:11):
these things are tricky to manage. But you want to
listen to her lay all the cards on the table.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
The advantage to that is now you know where all
the hidden snakes are. Now if you do that, what
you'll find out and so will she, is that most
of the things that she's worried about she's not actually
worried about. She won't know that until she lays them
out on the table and can see them and then
both of you can triangulate to the actual problem, and
then you can negotiate a solution and offer help.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Let that start a conversation. Ladies with your men, men
with your ladies. Just just let it it, let it
force the conversation. You know, a lot of people run
from conflict, they run from discomfort. But I think it's
very important to have those conversations, even though they're sometimes unpleasant.

(03:06):
Some people, because they have difficulty having a tough conversation,
they learn to avoid tough conversations by screaming, threatening, insulting.
When a conversation becomes uncomfortable, that's the sign of a
weak mind. It's also necessarily a developmental disorder. You never

(03:34):
really achieve your full potential if you cannot confront concepts
that are difficult to understand. Remember when you were in
school and the first time, whether it's algebra, geometry, trig calculus,
at whatever level, you said, wow, this is kicking my butt.

(03:57):
At that moment, you can bubble down and push on through,
or you can say this is stupid. I'm never going
to use this, but you are. People say to me
all the time, you never use that stuff, and really, yeah,
you do.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
It.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
May not be the coefficient or quadratic equations per se,
but learning to construct a manner in which you resolve
a challenge, a complex challenge. Yeah, you do that all
the time. I don't know how many times you do

(04:37):
curls playing football, but you strengthen the muscle that will
be used to tackle or catch or grab or push
someone away.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Or whatever it is.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
The curls are there to strengthen the muscle which will
be applied in a number of different ways. Too many
people avoid conflict, difficulty, challenge. They avoid these things because
they are uncomfortable. Joe Biden is not the only Democrat

(05:17):
candidate to have been screwed over by his party. You
may remember the controversy surrounding Hillary Clinton's nomination back in
twenty sixteen. Some of you will remember this well. Some
supporters of Bernie Sanders argued, and I think rightfully that
under the leadership of Debbie Wasserman Schultz remember her, the

(05:39):
Lizard Lady, that the party was actually favoring Hillary Clinton,
ensuring that she would win the nomination. And then there
were leaked emails from the DNC this is WikiLeaks, which
appeared to suggest that party officials were coordinating how they
could disadvantage campaign and give a boost to Hillary, which

(06:03):
they're not supposed to do in a primary. The most
significant criticism came from the belief that the DNC was
not impartial, which it's supposed to be, and then there
were allegations that they were rigging the primary process in
Hillary Clinton's favor, which it turns out they were. Then
wiki leaks just before the DNC the convention, they further

(06:28):
fueled this controversy by revealing these emails, which proved their point,
and W. Wasserman Schultz had to resign as DNC chairman.
The Sanders' supporters felt that the internal bias and manipulation
kept him from winning the nomination, and they're probably right.

(06:51):
So Sanders went on the theo Von podcast. Theovon is
a very funny guy, and he talked about his failed
primary and then he said that the United States is
quickly heading towards becoming an oligarchy. This might have sounded
crazy any other time, but think about what you just

(07:13):
witnessed with how the Democrats ensured that Joe Biden would
be the nominee and prevented RFK from running in a
primary against him In fact, they just kept an RFK
out of New York, the state he's lived in his
entire life. Think about how they ensured that Joe Biden
would be the nominee and RFK could not have a
primary against him, and then they kept RFK off the

(07:36):
ballot in states where he qualifies, and then at just
the right moment they push Biden out and put Kamala
in and nobody had voted for her. It make Bernie
Sanders is a nut, There's no doubt about that. But
he also happens to be right when he tells this story.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
You know, I ran in sixteen, I ran against Hillary
Clay and then A ran in twenty.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
Yeah, I remember, and I felt like you. I felt
like you didn't get treated fairly, to be.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Honest with me, And that's what happens when you take
on the establishments. What happened is we won the first
three primaries and then, uh, the establishment got very very nervous,
and they got there a whole lot of candidates in
the Democratic primary, and they said, hey, be a good
idea if you all dropped out, that Joe Biden be
the one candidate. People rallied around.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Them, and do they call is there a call that
you get and it's like you're you're not going to
move forward? Is it just like news articles like how
does it? How does the establish?

Speaker 3 (08:31):
What happened was is I won the popular vote in Iowa,
I won the New Hampshire primary. I won the Nevada primary.
And those were the first three and then from pages
of the New York Times, Democratic Establishment, very nervous Bernese
standis who win the whole? We were doing very well
in the polls, and you know, I think behind the
scenes people thought, you know, there were like fifteen different

(08:51):
candidates and they were splitting up the vote. And that's
how I was. I was not necessarily getting over fifty percent.
I was getting more than other people. So I was
on the way to and they said, look, Bernie shouldn't
be the candidate for writers. We don't want them. The
candidate drop out And then on one day a lot
of people want to do there's a lot of people
dropped out. It was Joe Biden. Me and Joe had

(09:13):
a lot of support and all these people came behind them.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
And do you think that our election process is still democratic?
Do you think it's still Yes?

Speaker 3 (09:22):
And no? I mean you know you want to run
for office, can you? Yep, you can. You've got a
certain number of signatures. But if you're going to win,
and I have ten times more money than you do,
I will beat you in ninety five percent of the time.
I mean that's a fact, right, right, you'll beat me.
Maybe if you're really an exceptional candidate and I'm a
real idiot, you will beat me once in a while,
But by and large, the money people will win. So

(09:45):
if you're asking me, are we a democracy, in one sense,
we are all right. You can run for office, you
can raise your issues. On the other hand, in terms
of why is the real power money people do? And
I use the term oligaki and oligaky is a society
where small numbers of very wealthy people control the economic
and political life of the country. I think we are

(10:06):
moving rapidly in that direction.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Yeah, I feel like it's to me, it feels like
an almost privatized communism in a way.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
That's a very good point. It's a very good It's
an interesting way of looking at it. If your life the.
