Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Michael Barry Show.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Let's go back to twenty eighteen and an appearance by
the casting call Congressman Alexandria Cassio Cortes on CNN. You
remember why she's the casting call congressman. That's nothing sexual.
That is because a well funded group, a very very
(00:24):
radical leftists, determined they were going to install a congressman.
They were going to run against a more moderate Democrat
and beat them by running a well funded, well organized campaign,
and they were going to prove to the Democrats that
the radicals have taken over their party.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
And they did.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
They literally held a casting call. It was filmed. You
can watch it. Go spend some time on the interwebs.
You'll find it. And since then they have launched her
to national prominence. Make no mistake, they accomplished what they
wanted to accomplish. So what does this leftist wacko have
(01:11):
to do with anything? Well, we have an election coming
up and you may be wondering, why are you wanting
to play six year old audio from AOC. Because of
the upcoming election, That's why I'm playing this audio. AOC
(01:32):
wanted to abolish ice. She wanted to do away with
the ability to stop the illegal aliens from invading our country.
All right, She's not running for president, but Kamala Harris is,
and she bragged about having support in the Senate from
(01:55):
then Senator Kamala Harris.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Your plans include abolishing ice, Jason was going through some
of these, A universal health care as you call Medicare
for all, guarantee of a job for people who want one,
free college tuition. Do you think even your Democratic colleagues
will support that platform.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Well, I think that they've already start. There are plenty
who have already hopped on board. You know, there already
is legislation on the floor of Congress regarding the abolishment
of ICE. Leading Democratic leaders like Kamala Harris and even
folks like Permilajaia Paul have already discussed this issue. We
have a very large amount of co sponsors on the
Medicare for All legislation.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Did the future Borders are really support abolishing ice? Well,
don't take my word for it. This is then Senator
Kamala Harris. During the twenty eighteen Senate confirmation hearing for
(02:54):
Ronald Vtello, she compares ICE to the KKK. Now, how
do you think these people feel doing their job a
tough job already. How do you think they feel being
compared to the clan? Listen to this audio.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
Clan was what we would call today a domestic terrorist group.
Speaker 6 (03:21):
Why why would we call them domestic terrorist group?
Speaker 5 (03:26):
Because they tried to use fear and forced to change
political environment?
Speaker 6 (03:31):
And what was the motivation for the use of fear and.
Speaker 5 (03:33):
Force based on race and ethnicity?
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Right?
Speaker 6 (03:36):
Are you aware of the perception of many about how
the power and the discretion at ICE is being used
to enforce the laws? And do you see any parallels.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
I do not see any parallels between I'm talking abouts
and agents.
Speaker 6 (03:54):
I'm talking about perception.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
I do not see a parallel between what is constitutionally
mandated as an it relates to enforcing the law.
Speaker 6 (04:01):
Are you aware that there's a perception Are you aware
that there's.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
A perception ICE in the same category as the KKK.
Is that where you're asking me?
Speaker 6 (04:10):
No, I'm very specific about what I'm asking. Are you
aware of a perception that the way that the discretion
I'm not finished.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
I see none.
Speaker 6 (04:19):
I'm not finished. I'm not finished. Are you aware that
there's a perception that ICE is administering its power in
a way that is causing fear and intimidation, particularly among
immigrants and specifically among immigrants coming from Mexico and Central America.
(04:41):
Are you aware of that perception.
Speaker 5 (04:44):
I do not see a parallel between the power and
the authority that ICE has to do its job and
the agents and officers who do it professionally and excellently
with lots of compassion.
Speaker 6 (04:54):
Sir, How can you be the head of an agency
and be unaware of how your agency is perceived by
certain communities.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
There is a lot of perceptions in the media and
in the public that are incorrect about the age.
Speaker 6 (05:05):
But the perception exists. Would you agree whether or not
it's correct, And wouldn't you agree then that if that
perception exists, there might need to be some work done
to correct the perception.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
I do want to advocate for the workforce, the vital
public safety mission that they have to protect the homeland,
and I think more people need to know how valuable
they are to the society. So I agree with you
on that.
Speaker 6 (05:34):
So I understand your point that you want to defend
the honor of the good men and women who work
in the agency, and I appreciate that point, and I
know the vast majority of the men and women who
work in the agency do a noble and good job.
I'm not talking about that, talking about the perception.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Kamala Harris has taken a lot of criticism, and rightfully so,
for everything she has stood for already, all these things
that we're playing that she has said and done. She
now just oh, I want I want there to be
no tax on tips, when she casts the vote to
(06:13):
make sure that there were taxes on tips. She has
proudly been a far left progressive for years. It was
known that she is the most liberal member of the
United States Senate when she served there. Then she gets
the presidential nomination and all of a sudden they go, oh,
(06:33):
you got us run back to the middle.
Speaker 7 (06:36):
Well.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Bernie Sanders was on Meet the Press, an avowed socialist
with Kristin Welker, and she asked Bernie about Kamala flip
flopping on the issues, and he says, no, no, no, don't worry.
She's still a radical lefty grime.
Speaker 8 (06:53):
Vice President Kamala Harris as a progressive. She has previously
supported Medicare for all, now she does not. She's previously
supported a ban on fracking, Now.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
She does not.
Speaker 8 (07:04):
These sedlor are ideas that you have campaigned on. Do
you think that she is abandoning her progressive ideals.
Speaker 7 (07:12):
No, I don't think she's abandoning her ideals. I think
she's trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks
is right in order to win the election. My own
view is slightly different. I think that in America today,
there are a lot of people, rural people, working class
people who no longer believe that the United States Congress
(07:34):
and government represents their interests. They're dominated by big money interests.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
I need you to know that if you criticize Kamala
Harris or mispronounce her name, the Democrat media will call
you racist and sexist. But this wasn't always the case
(07:59):
for many of them. They will criticize your pronunciation of
her name, despite the fact that that's also how they
have repeatedly mispronounced her name. Most people don't know a
person named Kamala unless you're an old wrestling fan going
way back.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
That's a different story.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
My my wife's grandmother her first name. My wife is
from India. Most of you know, but we have new
listeners every day. My wife is from India and her
grandmother's first name was Cumla. You would think that would
be spelled k u m La Cumla.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
It's not.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
It's spelled Kama La. It's the same name. Kamala Harris
was named a popular Indian name. But when you grow
up in America, she grew up in Montreal, you have
to often americanize your name. My wife's name is Nunda,
(09:07):
though it's spelled Na Ndita. And sometimes people get confused
about spellings because once a spelling in English is chosen,
people want to pronounce it the way that word that
name is typically pronounced using the alphabet that we've grown
(09:29):
accustomed to understandable, But you have to remember these names
didn't come from English. They come from the Sanskrit. Their
Sanskrit spellings and sounds. So when you try to convert
them into an English sound, and then that to an
(09:51):
American sound, you try to find letters that correspond. But
what we have a tendency to do, which is completely natural,
is to read those letters the way we do for
other words, and sometimes that doesn't line up with the
original pronunciation. The upshot of all of this is nobody
knows anyone named Kamala. Kamala Kamala or anything else. People
(10:18):
are trying to pronounce her name. However it is that
she pronounces it. They don't know and they haven't met her.
That doesn't make them racist. Now that brings us to
Joe Scarborough and his mistress. They do the show Morning Joe.
(10:41):
He didn't like Kamala Harris. He didn't like her because
he thought she was going to drag down Joe Biden.
Her poll numbers were the lowest of any vice president
since we've been polling, or any president for that matter,
well below thirty percent. It wasn't so long ago that
(11:05):
she was an unpopular vice president and you could criticize her,
and most Democrats did. And MSNBC's Joe Scarborough here he
is declaring that none of the criticisms she gets is
because she's black or a woman. Update nowadays it's all
(11:28):
because she's a black or a woman. But listen to this.
Speaker 9 (11:32):
I want to talking about this Kamala Harrison, because it's
whispered all the time.
Speaker 10 (11:36):
It's whispered Kamala Harrison. She's so horrible.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Nobody's going to vote for Joe Biden.
Speaker 10 (11:42):
Because, first of all, let me say it again, nobody
in the history of America, has ever voted for a
presidential candidate because of the vice president? It doesn't happen.
Speaker 9 (12:03):
That's one Number two. Kamala Harris. Oh, they're being so
mean to Kamala Harris. They're racist. She's a woman. They're
scared of her because she's a black woman. They hate
black women. They're scared of Has anybody ever heard of
dan Quell not black or a woman that guy got
(12:26):
ray teller that calls unmercifully. Has anybody ever heard of
George Herbert Walker Bush?
Speaker 1 (12:35):
That guy?
Speaker 10 (12:36):
That guy got destroyed? Why because he was a vice friend?
Speaker 9 (12:41):
You remember the wimp factor, Like that was his cover
as vice president, the wimp factor. I mean, here's a
guy that was a hero in World War Two. Here's
the guy that voted against racism and public housing when
he was representing Texas extraordin. I mean, here was a
(13:05):
courageous guy. The medium mocked and ridicule rated him over
the codes the way he became president of ISAAC. So
I'm just tired of hearing people's ol coma s it's
because she's black and she's a woman, and she's whatever,
and fret no, she's vice president.
