Speaker 1 (00:03):
It's that time time, time, luck and load. So Michael
darry Show is on the air.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Well, good morning, Captain.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Good morning, Captain, Good morning, Captain, Good morning, Captain, good morning,
good morning. And Captain's come on out and say wake
up the sunshine and share this rating. Good morn in Captain.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
It's morning.
Speaker 5 (00:44):
So we've seen because we're.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Herbie see and you're good to. Downtown's free, everybody's seeing.
Good morning, good morning.
Speaker 6 (01:19):
Well, as you know, it's Elvis's ninetieth birthday and that
will be a focus of much of the show today.
But first, wildfires in the Palisades and Pasadena area of
Los Angeles forced more than thirty thousand to evacuate. The
Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass. She's on a junket
(01:44):
in Ghana. Firefighters say hydrants are coming up dry, hindering
their efforts to put out those fires. Numerous buildings destroyed,
nearly three thousand acres burned in the Pacific Palisades area
between the beach towns of Monica and Malibu. The area
is home, as you might imagine, too many film and
(02:07):
music stars. Resident Rachel Darvish says, for someone to be
in charge of my town.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Where were you?
Speaker 6 (02:13):
Where were you when the decision should have been made
on how to get in and out of places? I
wish she was sitting across from me to answer these questions.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Karen Bass, I will remind.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
You, was the first person on Joe Biden's list to
be his black woman vice president. But the multiple clips
of her visiting Fidel Castro and praising his healthcare system,
they decided that even even the Democrats may have trouble
(02:47):
swallowing that. Karen Bass, formerly congressman then mayor think Sheila
Jackson Lee and boy do we have some Harris County
politics news, including Lena Hidalgo resigning very soon for you.
But first, more importantly locally, a bad fire five thirty
(03:08):
am yesterday three Houston firefighters hospitalized was second and third
degree burns after being trapped while attempting to rescue residents
in an apartment fire in Sunnyside. I think it was
five thirty am yesterday. The story from KPRCTV, we get.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
It, the how apartments in flames, like everything in flames.
So I had to get my kids, my grandkids out.
We had to run out with nittin shoes and nitty
so we standing the night and were watching and were
watching it. You just go into flames.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
The golfer help came. Around five point thirty this morning,
a fire started at this apartment complex on Jarmey Street
near Sunnyside. After entering one of the burning units, firefighters
Darren Jones, Jonathan Gooseman, and Captain Edward Eskamia were trapped
behind a heavy door blocking the exit, and a may
day was called. A fourth fire fighter, who recently rejoined
(04:01):
the department as part of the city's rehire program, was
able to knock the door down and free the doorway.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
Then we see the three firefighters come out and they
like on the ground, like they hurt.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
The three firefighters were trapped inside, suffering second and third
degree burns on their hands, legs, neck, and chest.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
The equipment did burn, obviously in those It's what's called
the flashover.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
It gets so hot in there that everything pretty much
explodes over in there.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Schreiner's hospital team, who works on traumatic burns, weighs in
on what care looks like during the first twenty four
hours after having second and third degree burns.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Twenty four hours usually very critical state. I'd say the
first three days after the burn injury. It's over. It's
over twenty percent body surface area. It's really going to
be low, more detrimental, and in that first three days
alone is one of the more critical phases to get
over in terms of your body reacting to the injury.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
So they came to Savus and not to get hurt
or anything like that, and I feel bad for him.
I want them to be okay. More than anything in
the world.
Speaker 6 (05:06):
I do not have a relationship with the new fire chief.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Thomas Munos.
Speaker 6 (05:11):
I don't have anything good or bad to say about him,
but I don't have that kind of relationship. He is
giving a briefing literally as we speak, on that fire
and the status of those firefighters.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Otherwise he would be on our show.
Speaker 6 (05:29):
I had a very close relationship with the past fire
chief Sampagna, but I don't have that with Munos. If
when he is completed with that briefing, he is able
to join us during the show, I'll have him on
and we'll talk about the status of those firefighters. They
came out of Station forty sixes, which is just east
(05:53):
of two eighty eight in just north of six' ten
south at the court Of quarter And scott you've been
in that. Area you know where forty six is, Is
you've driven by. It so that was pulled out a
map this. Morning that was the closest station to. RESPOND
(06:15):
i know that others, did but they probably got there
before there was a good look.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
See as to how bad it.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
Was another firefighter AND i have his, name BUT i
don't have it in front of, me arrived to kick
in the door from the outside to enable them to
exit the, fire and thank goodness he, did or their
lives would have been. Lost they are, very very badly.
Burned so if you could spare a prayer tonight for
(06:43):
Firefighters Darren, Jones Jonathan gusmann And Captain Edward, escamia that
would go a long. Way it's a dangerous job and
there's no way around. That we are reminded of that
when they get badly. Burned but so many times firefighters
(07:04):
go into a burning building to save lives and come
out and are hospitalized or suffer the effects of those
fires without ever making the news unless there is a
loss of life or as in this, case very close to.
It so please keep those folks in your. PRAYERS i
have a nephew who's Also Michael, berry who is on
(07:26):
The Humble Fire, department and so many friends from serving
on city council over the years and visiting all the fire,
stations who who show up every day and do that.
Job it is a, terribly terribly dangerous, job and this
is a reminder of just how dangerous it.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
IS i hope those three are.
Speaker 6 (07:49):
Fine my thoughts for their, families getting the call that
you never want to get when your loved one. Leaves every,
day the kids give them a hug and they're off
to do their.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Job and, yeah and in this, case they very likely could.
Speaker 6 (08:08):
Not it could have been the case that they didn't
come home and they still have a long way to.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Go burns are a, bad bad. Thing we have.
Speaker 6 (08:18):
Some big news On Lena hidalgo resigning very soon and
the chest piece is moving and a celebration Of elvis
on his ninetieth birthday coming.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
SHOW i got. You i'm.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
Confused that's that's. Usual i'll get you that in a.
Moment so for the last few, Days i've been.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Hearing a rumor from some.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
BUT i don't want to say, who BECAUSE i don't
want to get people in. Trouble and BUT i will
tell you, THIS i don't know how much longer it'll
be the, case Because i've been gone from local politics
for a very long. Time BUT i still have a
lot of friends who were members of the media and
(09:28):
who were staffers and who were bureaucrats who were still in.
Positions most of them have moved to different. Positions but
here is this is more than a. RUMOR i typically
do not prognosticate because it burns my ass WHEN i
(09:50):
predict something and somebody goes ten, MINUTES i.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Goes, hey haven, Yet heaven? Yet Hedn't heaven.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
Yet there are a number of things THAT i predicted what,
happen but when it didn't happen fast. Enough there's a
certain type of. Personality the kids call them AN, npc
a non player. Character that's somebody in the, movie in
the video game who doesn't actually have a. Role they're
(10:17):
just kind of over on the side what we used
to call a peanut gallery WHEN i was growing, up
and that person loves to. Chirp Thank god for the block.
Function but here we go at the risk of being,
criticized which you, KNOW i. Hate what's going to. HAPPEN
(10:39):
i suspect within the next sixty days the wheels are in.
Motion is That Lena hidalgo is going to. Resign will
unpack the reasons for. This Lenna hidalgo is going to
resign from being the county, commissioner the county. Judge she's
going to be replaced With, edgin's who is the current.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Sheriff rodney's running all of. This this is All.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
Rodney's and WHEN i say he's running all of, IT
i mean literally the calls are back and forth to
him as he coordinates. This he's the one who calls
the person and, says, hey would you like to do?
This so the, sheriff Ed gonzales becomes county. Judge Troy,
fenner who Was Sylvester turner's police, chief becomes the county.
(11:32):
Sheriff don't doubt me on. This that's the plan right.
Now that Is rodney's, plan and that is being worked
on as we, speak and it has been worked on
feverishly over The christmas break while the things were. Quiet
rodney runs the. County rodney ellis in a way That
(11:53):
Richard daley Ran. Chicago rodney doesn't just run his precinct
one of four in the. County rodney runs all of.
It he runs the. County he has an insane or
had an insane influence over the. City he And whitmeyer
hate each. Other Rodney ellis And John whittmeyer hate each
(12:17):
other more than you Hate Kamala harris Or Joe biden
Or Barack, obama trust.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Illness they despise each other and.
Speaker 6 (12:30):
It goes back. Sometime i'll tell you the whole story behind,
that because it's a good. Story but rest assured you
do not mention one to the. Other if you are
an engineer or an architect or a contractor who does
business with the city in the, county you don't mention
one to the.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Other that is a no. No But rodney runs the.
County he RAN. Hisd that's why the state takeover is
such a problem because that's a huge pool of.
Speaker 6 (12:56):
Money when you got this huge pockets some money AT,
Hisd Houston Community, college these.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Various, Entities.
Speaker 6 (13:05):
Metro that's What rodney does is he and his team
they sit in scheme and they.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Go all, right we could do a bond offering for
five hundred million.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
Dollars we'll get this lawyer to handle, it and then
we'll get this contractor we'll get this this we get
our buddy over here who will do the schematics on,
it and he'll get.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Paid there's a lot of money moving, around a lot
of money moving.
Speaker 6 (13:30):
Around but the only fly in the, ointment or the
only change that could be coming out Of welcome to.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
The lifestyles of the not so rich and famous are.
AS i call it The Michael barry jokes were a
whole kids. Shine so the current plan being worked out.
Speaker 6 (13:53):
Is That Lena hidalgo will. Resign now that news cannot get,
Out so do not mention this because the point at
which that gets, out there will be people who want
to jump, in And rodney can't control all those. People
(14:13):
the way these things are, staged you'll see this where
you'll have a have a congressman and the filing day
will be you know whatever that. Is Michilla Jackson lee did.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
It but the filing day will Be.
Speaker 6 (14:34):
December let's Say december seventh at five pm for the
upcoming primary that will be In march In. Texas seventh
may not be the, Day i'm just it's close to that, day.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
And the congressmen will know they're not going to run for,
reelection but they don't let that.
Speaker 6 (14:54):
Out they keep that very close to the vest because
there are people who run who won't run against the,
incumbent but if the seat is, open then they'll. Run
so they don't tell anyone that they're not going to,
run and then at four point fifty eight their spouse
(15:17):
goes in and files to run. Uncontested the whole thing is.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Wired is it?
Speaker 6 (15:27):
Dirty, Absolutely it's not representative. Democracy the district didn't get
to choose their rep but that's what these people. Do
it's a game to these people to, sickness and they're
not good. People so the plan is That lena will.
Resign why she's. Tired she is tired and fatigued in
(15:53):
the way that mentally ill people. Become And i'm not
actually picking up on her. There she has by all,
accounts significant.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Mental health.
Speaker 6 (16:08):
Problems when she's been criticized for going into treatment for
several months at a, time she comes out and plays
a victim and says she's had mental health problems her entire.
Life and here's the part that nobody wants to say in,
public BUT i. Will she had no business being the county.
(16:28):
Judge she doesn't have the, constitution the disposition for. It
she cannot handle that if you go into epileptic seizures
over flashing. Lights there are certain JOBS i don't know
this jockey at the strip club that you ought to
do if they're going to have flashing. Lights there are
(16:50):
just certain things you shouldn't. Do crockett had a, classmate
most adorable little kid Named. Hank has a hole in his.
Heart he's had since he was a, kid since he
was a little little bity. Baby the doctors told his
parents he cannot take a.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Hit it could take his. Life so what does he?
Do Little?
Speaker 6 (17:13):
Hank he's a. Kickoff he kicks. Off can't kick field
goals because you could still get. Hit so he figured he.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
Want to be on the football.
Speaker 6 (17:26):
TEAM a little bit of, kid small skid in the,
class but he practiced and practice and practice so that
he'd be better than anybody. Else are close enough to
it that he could do. Kickoffs so he kicks, off
grabs the, tea and runs off the field before anybody
can get to him and hit. Him AND i, Mean
(17:48):
i'm going to tell you. Something there ain't a parent
on either team that knows the story that's not rooting
for that little. Kid the heart that he has pun
intended just certain things you ought to not do if
you don't physically have the capability to. That she should
(18:11):
never have been put in that position. Ever and by the,
way it's not been good for her. Either and despite
all her honeymoon pictures and her ongoing multi, month multi
year honeymoon and look at, Me i'm at The White.
House the plan was for her to go TO dc
and serve in The biden administration because she could serve
(18:34):
in The biden. Administration she could be tucked away in
a position that would have no stress and nobody would.
Know she'd get to live IN, dc and she'd take
selfies of, herself which is all she really wants to
do and post. Them but of Course kamala did, win.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
And here we.
Speaker 6 (18:51):
Are But rodney cannot give up the county judge because
if he can't run the, county he can't run the.
Game So Ed gonzalez the, sheriff is a. Choice that's
who he's going to put. There it's got to be
somebody who checks the. Box gonzalez Is. Hispanic he can.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Argue, hey he's been the.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
Sheriff he's running this Sheriff's he's running the apartment with
four thousand. People how many? People with four thousand people in,
there he's done a good. Job, Now, gonzales you'll, remember
was going to be head of I ins.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
For The biden.
Speaker 6 (19:26):
Administration the announcement was, made and there were some behind
the scenes problems.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
That were not all.
Speaker 6 (19:40):
Fleshed out THAT i assure you will be fleshed out
If rodney tries to put him in his county. Judge
but we'll wait on that Because Ed gonzalez is not
the certain. Choice if you look at the organizational, chart.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
What do you call?
Speaker 6 (20:03):
That what the coach puts? Up who's gonna be the
first ring quarterback and second string? Quarterback but depth, Chart
Ed gonzalez is actually the second choice for that. Position
the first choice Is John elway coming out Of. Stanford
and will he come To indianapolis or? Not and if
(20:27):
he doesn't and cuts a deal and refuses to, come
and we got to send him To, denver we got
to have another.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Quarterback so the, quarterback.
Speaker 6 (20:40):
If she'll take, it Is Sheila Jackson lee's daughter who
can now call herself Former Congressman.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Erica Lee.
Speaker 6 (20:54):
Carter Sheila Jackson lee's unexpired term was filled By Erica Sheila,
Jackson lee's. Daughter now she gets to be called A
congressman for the rest of her, life and in certain,
communities Eighteen Congressional district is one of. Them that's a
big deal for we have with us tonight a very special,
(21:17):
guest Former Congressman Erica Lee. Carter, yeah if she will do,
it and there are rumors she is considering, it that'll
be your new county.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
Judge thanks To god and yellis because he can control.
Her two as fires burned.
Speaker 6 (21:46):
In Los angeles and The, Mayor karen bass a black.
Woman Race baier is on a junket To ghana reminiscent
Of Sylvester. TURNER i don't know who, Who Karen, Bassis
marvin Agamagu, is But i'm sure there's somebody that'll.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Qualify the mayor Of.
Speaker 6 (22:08):
Los angeles is not in town as the city, burns
but no worries as long as the fire chief. Is
her name Is Kristin. Crowley she is the first female
fire chief In Los. Angeles but what's, more her score goes.
(22:35):
Higher she's also the. First this is how it was
described The La TIMES Lgbtq Los angeles Fire. Chief so
you've got a, woman a, woman what doesn't like? Dudes
(22:56):
who's in charge of The Los Angeles Fire? Department, now
the city might burn, down but that's not really what
the fire department is there, for is. It the point
of the fire department is to be a historically traditionally
male organization for obvious reasons that we've now put a
(23:23):
lesbian woman in charge of. Yea she said her vision
and strategic plan for The Los Angeles Fire department is
to be more diverse and. Inclusive So i'm sorry that
(23:47):
your house is burning, down But ernest is not able
to rush in and stop it because he's on his.
Period and that's, progress isn't?
Speaker 1 (23:59):
It is that really what we? Wanted and when you
get right down to, it.
Speaker 6 (24:07):
Right And susie is over there dry humping a tree
because she thinks she's a male dog in.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
HEAT i guess a male dog can't be in. Heat
female dog that's in, here huh to?
Speaker 6 (24:22):
Count you're right if it thinks it's, Inheated, Ramona thank
you for being.

a good one With, Billy bob and the, guys but
totally different with the wife and. Daughter almost makes it
unwatchable when they come. On we're watching the same. SHOW
i do not find it unwatchable when they come. On
Fake texas accents are. Unneeded, no, sorry Fake texas accents.
(24:57):
Unneeded sex scenes don't anything against sex, scenes just seems
out of. Place if you saw that mother and didn't
want to see her in a sex, Scene i'm not
sure how that could ever be out of. Place and in,
closing Our Colony ridge residents are getting real.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Nervous oh yes they.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
Are there is an ongoing development In Colony ridge that
should break in any.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Moment that's not going.
Speaker 6 (25:30):
To be good for The Colony, ridge for The Colony ridge.
Defenders back to the wildfires In Los. Angeles yesterday, evening

e was convicted of the largest homicide manslaughter in corporate
homicide In american. History eighty four people died and they
(26:59):
were convicted criminally as a. Corporation pretty bad. Deal that
case is complicated and what they. Were the reasons they
were convicted are, many but we'll go. BACK pg AND
e is in bed With Gavin. Newsom now there's a
(27:23):
lot of people been In Gavin newsom's. Bed you'll remember
that at one point he had to confess that he
was banging his campaign manager chief of staff's. Wife he has, also,
well we'll leave that. ASIDE pg AND e has been
giving money To Gavin newsom to avoid the liability on
(27:43):
the civil side that would come from the or in
the administrative side also to the state that would come
from the convictions of people who died because of their.
Actions but what's interesting is even as they went into
bankruptcy a time in fifteen, years even as they were
(28:04):
under this criminal, case they continued to shovel cash To Gavin.
Newsom but what's even, better they didn't just shovel cash
To Gavin. Newsom they shoveled cash to his. Wife they
funded a. Film she's a. Filmmaker she's decided because she
(28:27):
