(02:02):
But he's not knew this at all. He's been doing
this a long time, a long long time, so I
know about stuff. If it's if first I'm seeing Big Mic,
know myself Big.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Mic, Uh I am. I'm a Maryland native Kevin. I
The reason I know Kevin is we used to work
together and uh, and I also know hoodie, So it's
not like I'm just stepping in. I don't know who
the other guy is. I do know hoodie, but I
am a Maryland native. I currently live in Los Angeles
with my wife, my boxer, and my dog. I work

(02:33):
on podcasts, so I'm a podcast producer also while studying
to be a music supervisor out here in La so uh,
and I'm just a huge nerd and nerd geek all
that wrapped up into one. So if you can see
behind me, I have a blurred but I have like
figures for everything.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
So this is the right place for me.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Chrisism I've been a podcast is the exact place that
I need to be, especially when you want to get
all that nerdy news.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Yes at that back in the days pre crisis, back
when blogs were a thing, Mike ran a movie blog
and I used to write a column on there called
My Mom's Basement, which I'm curly in. Actually technically it
is my mom's house. I'm in her basement, so I'm
kind of I've kind of manifested where I'm gonna be
just three microsh what's it called the d C Film Freaks?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
It was it was DC Film Freaks and I also
had a podcast that went along with they called The
DC Film Life, and I'm just the I'm also a
movie guy, so like I'm a huge movie and TV guy,
so like I love talking movies and TV. So that's
the other part of part of me as well.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Where can they follow you, Big Mic?

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Follow me at the True Big Mic without the E
and true on Instagram, Twitter, all the places, just like
just like Crisis, you can you can find me everywhere
at that at the True Big Mic without the E.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah, so, unlike myself, I won't put Hoodi in this
in this book of Hoodie watches serious movies. Mike watches
serious movies. Me, unless you're dragon fighting robots, I have
nothing to do with the movie. That's just me. But
Mike actually watched serious oscar contending film cinema type movies
where I need stuff worth capes and shields and vibranium

(04:10):
and eyes of a Kamoto. So that's just me though.
But the first part of the podcast I Like You
was called what You're doing fd Live. You've been living games,
been playing TV, been watching, So let's let our guest
go first, Big Mic, what You're doing?

Speaker 2 (04:26):
What am I doing? What am I watching these days.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
When I'm not watching my Philadelphia Eagles win games, beat
Cowboys all that stuff like that, I'm usually so I'm sorry,
So no, you're good. I'm okay with that. I'm all
about the Cowboys Slanders. Some people may not be, but
I am. Uh yeah, what I'm not watching the Philadelphia

(04:49):
Eagles when I'm usually editing podcasts. That's kind of my job,
editing and producing podcasts. What I'm watching on TV right now?
We just finished watching Agatha All Along, which was really dope.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Uh, and then I watched I watched some network TV.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Probably my favorite show right now is Tracker on CBS,
which is Tracker based off a book has Oh the
guy that used to play the First Green Arrow that's right,
Yeah yeah yeah, he's really good in it. And we
watched that a lot, and then also watch.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yeah yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
So I watch a lot of that, a lot of
new stuff. And then right now I'm currently like deep
into Starfield.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
So I'm still playing Starfield.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Still playing stuff. I tapped out, man, Yeah, I tapped out.
And what the Guy was a bad game. It gave
me anxiety. It's like, there's so much to do. I
don't know where, so much, so much to.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Do, man, and like, and what what was terrible about
it is that I got to a point and then
all all h double hockey sticks broke out and I
couldn't go back to a safe point.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Before that moment.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
So I had to I had to go back to
like three or four safe points, which is like completely
nowhere near where I was.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
And so I've been working my way back to that point.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
But yeah, Starfield is what I'm into right now.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
What did I just finish?

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Though?

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Question? Did you get any of your powers yet?

Speaker 2 (06:23):
I have some? I have some powers. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
The great the weird thing about this this video game
is I'm not sure how it.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Works, right, it's too much.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Yeah, Like I don't know how to access my powers,
so like it just come over think is it right? Bumper,
I'm gonna have to try that because I was playing
that right before we hopped on. But you know, I
was playing. I've been playing a lot of college football
a lot. I'm mad and Starfield that got back into it.

(06:56):
There was another game that I just finished. It was
a story game that I oh, I finished Ghost of Sashima.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Dude, I just finished that game, man, and.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
I'm ready for the next the next version of what
they're talking about, so that I've been really into ghosts.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
I finished that like I want to say, two months ago. Yeah,
oh my gosh, what a what a great It's which
I needed to pick. Did you kill your uncle? Just
let him live?

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (07:26):
No, I killed my uncle. He's dead. He's dead.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
It's funny. And we talked about this. I want to
beat the game. Actually, the Canning ending is actually, according
to the director, is you're letting him live. But the
director also said director, time he plays, he killed him anyway,
that's awesome. The reason I spared him, though, was because
I have a nephew and I was like, well, if
this is real, I hope my nephew to spare me
and come come to find out. While talk my nephew

(07:52):
about the game, he was like, well this is real.
I wouldn't kill my uncle. So we have mutual love
going on.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
So you know what, you know what, that's beauty, that's
a beautiful thing. But I felt like the uncle attacked
me first, so he yeah, he gotta die.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
He went like, nah burn everything with cuts.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yeah, oh you got You turned your back on me first, sir,
And then I had another Starfield question.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Forgot what it was. Oh, did you have figure out
the shipbuilding? I quit on shipbuilding. I was like, this
is too complicated for me. My brain can't comprehend it.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
What I realized about Starfield is you can do anything
as long as you have the money to do it. Yeah,
like you can, like like the persuasion mechanic, you can
just you and when it's like you can pay them
a thousand dollars and they'll do exactly what you need.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
Cool.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Like I just paid someone.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Twenty five hundred dollars to snitch on their lover, like
the star Field. Like, I was like, here's twenty five hundred.
I tried the long way. I was like, it did work.
Here's twenty five hundred dollars. Give me the information that
I need. That's why the game it's so crazy. Like
that was a side mission. Rights, Yeah, I did a
sab mission. I said before, there's a side mission on
like these the cyberpunklican planet where it was it was

(09:01):
it was like an industrial espionage.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
It took me like twenty five hours. I'm like, this
wasn't even the real game. I spent twenty five hours
on the side bitch. I don't have tomp this. I
really really don't. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
And what I learned is I just get so intertwined
in these side missions that sometimes I just abandon the
main mission and then I go back to the main mission.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
But that's how it wasn't Yeah, but that's how it
wasn't Ghosts.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Like there's so many of these other things that I
can travel to and complete. Like it was just like,
there's like, why would I want to do the main mission?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Then you get back to the main mission, You're like, oh, yeah,
I still got this to do.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Another reason why I stoped playing because they fixed the money
glitz cheat on that one planet where you look at
the puddle and you can get the money and the
and the I was like, I got time to grind.
I want to I just want to take it from
the puddle.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Oh that's so funny, but.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Asked for me. This weekend, I changed the headlight bulbs
on my car. Now, when I say that, it sounds
very easy for those of you who are our car owners.
Usually it's a simple procedure. You pop the hood, you
look down into the front of the car, you twist
the thing, you pulled it out and you put it
back in. That's how you should be. But unfortunately my
car involves me having to take the fender wall down

(10:11):
from under the tire to reach back like the blind
just kind of feeling around for it. And that took
me about two hours. And I'm still sore from it
because I was rolling around on the ground for like
two hours. Yeah, and the cold Saturday morning. It was
not a fun time.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Yeah, they love to make it difficult for you. Simple
things become difficult. I had to change my battery and
when I had this old school pola and the bar
was literally right across the structural bar, so like you
couldn't even pull it out, like you have to undo
this big massive bar in the Impala, move it and
then remove the battery.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
I was like, this is some silly stuff. This is silly.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
I'm sure you didn't say stuff.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
No, I definitely did not, but this is some silly.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
Other than that, this weekend, I also, for the actual
for the first time, probably in like I'm old, so
like ten years, I went to California Pizza Chicken Pizza
Kitchen with the Fam for lunch on Saturday, and I
had my first probably probably chicken pizza I've never had
one before.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
What you didn't have chicken Barber your chicken pizza from
California Kia chen.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
It always turned me up. I thought it'd be too sweet,
but like the red onion with the kind of it
was delicious.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Yeah yeah, talk about it, talk about it.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Yeah yeah, no, they I mean they of course they
started here, so like they're everywhere here and we had
been We've been here almost four years. And we went
to our first California Pizza kitchen like a couple of
months ago.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
We were like, why don't we come here more often?

Speaker 1 (11:39):
So I didn't really because I did. Only the only
option was the pizza though, because I was looking. I
wasn't gonnaet pizza because I just I don't want to
like for the four because I don't like get messing
with my hands. It's the thing I have. But I
got you all the pasta plates were like twelve hundred calories,
Like I can't eat this. I don't be waiting again
today too much.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
I'm my limit? This is it? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Like didn't my limits like eighteen hundred? I'm like why
I can have this? And then I don't know, uh
a cheerio and that'd be it for the rest of
the day.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
You should gonna be hungry. You better drink a lot
of water for your stomach.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
But it was a good time with the fam. We
haven't been out in a while. I was pretty sad though,
because I wanted to get some kettle corn and the
farm I wanted to get it from was closed, so
that was sad. But then we went to Target and
the Christmas trees drop and then we're happy again.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
So there you go.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
Yeah, Christmas trees always bringing the love that always makes
you feel good inside, all warming, yes and fuzzy in
your tomtoime.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
And then thankfully there was Ravens were off for Sunday,
so I wasn't a stressful Sunday like he usually is
when they play. But we do have a dig coming
up in December one. Falen hurts Lamar Jackson's that's that's
happening sooner than later.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
That's all my birthday. Oh really, Yeah, I'll be forty three.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
You keep saying you're old, but I'm going to be
forty three less than a couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
I feel like since twenty twenty in the pandemic, we've
all become old together. Everyone we're all just tenured old
we should. Yeah, but that's what I've been doing. Let
us know what you've been doing that if unscore pods
on Instagram and Twitter. So I don't have the thing
on my side here. I meant to load it up.
I forgot to. It's time for the news, and now

(13:18):
the thing will play. It's time. No no, no, no, no, no, no
no no news. Something I made. I made it on
my computer. I have no idea where I saved it.
I can't find it.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
It's a good place for it. Yeah, it's on here.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
I just couldn't tell you where.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Yeah, it doesn't matter. It doesn't.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
So for our entire news bit, we're just gonna switch
over here to the reaction theater because we got a
bunch of trailers to talk about. MARYA. Marvel decided to
bless us over the weekend with some trailer goodness. And
let's see here. I'm gonna make this a little smaller,
make that a little larger. So, Mike, which one would

(13:59):
you want? Do you want to start off with?

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Let's start with oh, what was the what's the other?
Just let's start with the thunderbolts. Let's start with that one.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Gonna come on the gates hard. Okay, we with thunderbolts.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Yeah, let's let's start with that one. Yeah, let's go
hard on that one. Let's go hard to paint right away.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Yeah, this is a This was a longer trailer's almost
four minutes, three minutes forty seconds. Yeah, it still didn't
give what the movie is about.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
But I'm here's the thing, I am. I'm okay with that, right,
I am A I am.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
I usually don't watch past the first or second trailer,
just because I feel like trailers give too much. And
I almost didn't watch it, but I remember the teaser
and I was like, ah, I need a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
So the other thing. I'll say this before we talk
to watching it, it gave me big, big, big Guardians vibes.
Just a bunch of misfits ones, just a bunch of
misfits making chaos for everybody.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
It basically looks like they base. They were like, you
know what worked, Guardians, Let's do that.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
Let's do that exactly with different people. All right, So
I got the Guardian trailer up. I mean, the Guardians
thought a bout trailer up here. Let's started off Mike
in three two one and play.

Speaker 6 (15:15):
Oh, America is so big you'll drive through Oklahoma so flapped.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
That's a busted limo. It is.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
It is a busted limit. Step on it, step on it.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Forty three miles an hour.

Speaker 7 (15:32):
All right, come on okaya?

Speaker 5 (15:37):
Oh no, Lee, okay, don't war it, don't worry engaging
defensive measures.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
I love your lama below it. He's my favorite, your favorite.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Oh she's so good.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Yeah yeah, Oh look at this guy?

Speaker 4 (16:08):
Is that fucky? It's a Winter Soldier.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
That guy, it's so cool. Oh that's so tet right there,
that's what they talk about. Oh no, the gun is back.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
How crazy is it to think of all the monumental
fights that happened here where you're standing.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
We know who bought it.

Speaker 7 (16:50):
Nice wasn't cheap, but it's got good optics. Look it.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
I hate her so much.

Speaker 7 (16:55):
Also adorable. It's ships Valentino.

Speaker 8 (17:01):
Yo.

Speaker 7 (17:04):
The assignment is Oh wait, that's so good. Signment is complete?

Speaker 1 (17:16):
What kind of superstitium did you get?

Speaker 4 (17:18):
I don't know, regular prod? Oh bad set?

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Who's this?

Speaker 7 (17:24):
Old Santa?

Speaker 8 (17:25):
The Red Guard did what.

Speaker 7 (17:29):
Everyone here has done? Bad things? Shadow osmember goes.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
And you former Red Room assassin God only knows the
blood on your hands.

Speaker 7 (17:42):
Pretty ludicrous coming from the dime store.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
Captain America, you know it's actually the official Captain America.

Speaker 7 (17:47):
So yeah, for like two seconds, getting so tense in here.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
Who are you? I'm Bob and Bob.

Speaker 7 (18:07):
Yeah, we're just thrifting oil and we don't have purpose.
You can't escape the past, so you can either do
something about it now.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
But he's been lifting a weight man live for mm hmm, So.

Speaker 7 (18:34):
What do we all just punch and shoot?

Speaker 1 (18:37):
We are.

Speaker 7 (18:43):
Can corss there, Thank god, you'll come.

Speaker 8 (18:46):
The boats's the cool name.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
So that was the Thunderbolt trailer. Yeah, So like when
it's when it's the first one press release, a lot
of people are like, what what are we doing? So, yeah,
what are your thoughts on this so far?

Speaker 2 (19:06):
I like, I like how they're presenting.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
I'm gonna say this in general, I like where based
off the two trailers and we're gonna talk about them.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Of course, based off the Cat trailer.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
In this trailer, it feels like Marvel's headed in a
different direction when it comes to tone, right, Like, while
the Thunderbolts is funny, right, it's got its humor, it
feels different than any other property, right they this is
like this is like Marvel's equivalent to like a suicide
squad and when it comes to DC and so I

(19:39):
like that we're getting all of these people together, like
when the Agent, when we're watching the Captain America, Captain
American and Winter.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Soldier, like he's really serious. So it's nice to see.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
It's nice to see the comedic side of him, even
though like he you know, he killed somebody, right, like
it's it's one of the those things. But I love
that they reference it in the movie, like she's like,
didn't you like kill somebody, like like that's what he was, Like, yeah,
he was, like I was Captain America And we're like,
well didn't you kill somebody? Like they don't forget to

(20:13):
like check that and go, hey, you're not as good
as you you think you are.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
So I like the the group.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
I love David Harbor. I think he's great, and then
you know, Florence Pugh. I think it's going to be
fantastic in this movie. So I'm really enjoying what they're
gonna put out. I also think that the asterisk is
meaning to be It's not this is not what the
team's final name is gonna be I think it's just
what this movie is called.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
So I'm excited for it.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
I liked what I saw so far, and I love
that there's a vehicle to see more Bucky Barnes in
my opinion.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Yeah, And then I think about the name things that
they've done that that press has been said, because it
was called Falcon in Winnisoda, and then when the series ended,
it's Captain American when Soldiers, they could change the name
if they want to. In the middle of another thing
that you talk about about about like making fun of itself,
they also said, like in the trailer, what are we
gonna do? Go in there and shooting punch. That's all
they really do, and they're like, well, yeah, that's what

(21:09):
we're gonna do. You shooting bunch. I mean you look
at the roster. You got a woman that can walk
through walls, you got yep, two superheroes, two superhero soldier
sarm people three count if you if you count Elana
with with with the with the Red Run program, and
then they have who else is it? It's test Masters
or basically a cyborg pro They got a pretty good roster.

(21:32):
I'm still wondering though, Uh, what is Bucky's purpose in this?
Because I feel like he's going to rain them in
in this trailer, you know what I mean. I feel
like they've been going out of pocket for a few Okay,
let me go get these guys for somebody kills them,
you know.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
Yeah, I think he I think they're gonna position him
to kind of be the leader of this group, which
makes sense to me because he's if you look at
everybody in the roster, he's the longest tenured Marvel person
there is, yep. Right, He's the guy that's kind of
been from the beginning, you know, with the Captain American
stuff and all that.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
So his arc, I think, to me, is one of
the longest reigning arcs.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
And then you know, once we get the Captain America
New World Order type deal, then so will Anthony Mackie.
But I love that he's kind of going to be
the guy that's like, I'm the old school guy. They
tried it this way, we should try it a different way.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
This is our way.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
There's nobody holding him back per se. Sometimes Kap would
hold him back from doing the things that are necessary.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
So I like it. I think the team I think
the humor is gonna be great. I already love Florence
Few and David Harbor and their humor together when we
saw it in The Black and Black Widow. So I'm
on board so far.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
I'm to hunted on board two. And I think the
fact that Marbles released in this movie, I think May fourth,
which is usually the well, I don't know if it's
made fourth. I know it's in May which, but they
have the Adventures date, which is a big deal. I mean, yes,
that's the kickoff of the summer movie season. That means
they have supreme confidence in this movie, and so far
it looks good. My last question about this is one

(23:04):
excuse me, how does Century fit in this movie? Because
I'm not too keen on the Century lore. I know
he's another superman in type archetype in Marble. Yeah, but yeah,
what I gather, he's not really a hero or a villain.
He's just a guy that exists I got to deal
with sometimes. Yeah, so I won't know how he fits
in this because obviously they're not gonna win and kill

(23:27):
Century or put Centry in in some prison. He's going
to probably to be out there after this.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Yeah, it feels like they're setting it up to be
kind of like he's like the Incredible Hulk but different. Right, Yeah,
he changes when he's when it's emotional like there, But
I think based off the character, it's two different people.
So like Bob is trying to control Century, and so
I think it's going to be more like that than
more of a you know, David Banner getting upset changing

(23:55):
into the Hulk, and it's it's still David Banner, but
the Hulk.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Is kind of the down dominating emotion. I think it's
going I think.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
They're gonna play it like Bob is different than Century
and those two. He like, it's like having multiple personalities.
Someone is taking over and you don't know exactly what
they're doing. You can only just watch from internal. So
it's an interesting it's an interesting way to introduce it.
I also love that they didn't call him Century, they
called him Bob Bob, so they're trying to kind of

(24:24):
leave that leave it open for your interpretation.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
So I mean, I'm here for it.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
So far, I haven't heard anything that's turned me off
from watching this movie.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
And we'll find out all answers our questions on May second,
twenty twenty five is when this trailer, this movie will
be released, and I definitely will be there day one,
probably most likely I will. So let's go to our
next trailer, just one I haven't seen yet. We're gonna
watch the new trailer store what If?

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Am I supposed to be able to see this?

Speaker 3 (24:54):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Yeah, I thought you were playing on your side.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
I was not playing one side. I call you that here, Yeah,
let me do that. Listen? All good, All good?

Speaker 1 (25:03):
What are we doing?

Speaker 3 (25:04):
What If?

Speaker 4 (25:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Let's put that in here over here? Okay, yeah, so
the season three trailer?

Speaker 1 (25:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, got it? Be right, let me know.
We can count down to watch together. Let's see here,
got it? Are you a fan of the what If? Series?
What to Do?

Speaker 7 (25:24):
I am?

Speaker 3 (25:25):
I have to go back and finish season two, But like,
it's sometimes it's hard to keep up with when there's
all this other stuff going on and you have to
understand the connections between what's different here and what's normal,
Like yeah, and so I have a guy that I
watch on YouTube that helps with that. Yeah, But I
do like this series because you get kind of an
alternative look to the to the heroes that you've become

(25:47):
very comfortable with. Yeah, and I love that they kind
of turn it flipping on its head. So all right,
so here we go, what if trailer? I want to
play this in three two one and play. It's my
first time watching this boy. Okay, it's the end of
it all interesting.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Let's began up for an adventure always Western.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
I love the animation style so much. To understand why visit?
You must learn to see.

Speaker 7 (26:27):
What exactly are you proposing?

Speaker 2 (26:29):
It's showtime?

Speaker 1 (26:31):
Here we go a fly? This are you kidnapping? Duck?

Speaker 2 (26:35):
I was born to fly? It's a great logic, Howard,
Oh don't mamu.

Speaker 7 (26:46):
If we all go down, the world will be left
defense for us.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
The eternals are back. Wow, this is a shot we have.
That's not like saying another one. There he is, let's
finish it.

Speaker 7 (27:01):
Oh we're good to go.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Oh heck yeah. I love make Zorts Avenger a symbol.
Oh heck yeah. I don't care. That's awesome. I don't
care anybody. I don't care anybody said that was awesome. Okay,
Red Guardians, what about now walks back?

Speaker 8 (27:31):
It's just a story and oh no, the other watchers
with some mysteries. The only answer which what if.

Speaker 7 (27:48):
It's what hand?

Speaker 2 (27:57):
Okay, maybe it's time that we called in some help.
Oh stop.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
Stop it. What Oh my gosh, Goddess of Thunder? Are
you kidding me?

Speaker 5 (28:25):
What?

Speaker 4 (28:29):
Well?

Speaker 1 (28:30):
I was not prepared for that.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Not neither was I.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
I was not prepared for the Goddess of Thunder. Oh
my gosh.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
That makes I thought it was going to be I
thought it was going to be what's her face from
from thor And then when it was like, I was like, yeah,
I thought it was going to be Jane and I
was like, oh no, that is Storm, dude.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
That makes oh my god, makes so much sense. Oh
a mutant as.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Oh my god, and wielding the hammer crazy to me?

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Oh like ysh, just for that and watching the show
just for that?

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Does that not make her omega level? Like that with
the hammer?

Speaker 1 (29:09):
And I feel I feel like Storm as a mega
level mutant wielding her powers with Milnaire, she could be
Fanos she watched.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Yeah, yeah, she's like super op.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Oh that that is awesome. Now. The cool thing about
this is that I love is that, like, like you
said before, you got to watch the old ones, that
kind of fegure what was going on the release strategy
is that I think December twenty second to get one
to day basically nice for the whole week. The reason
the first two and then get one to day you
stay after that. I love that strategy because of the
multi verse, the multiverse realm of this excuse me storytelling.

(29:51):
It's a lot easier to digest it when you know, Okay,
I watch again in the marrow, see what happens. You
know what I mean, wait a whole week, because she
was the first one that was like, this is cool,
but I don't understand what's happened. So last week we're
doing this one thing, now we're doing another thing.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
So yeah, yeah, it's hard to keep up.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
What I love about the series, though, is it's a
great way to test what's gonna work and what's not
gonna work. Yeah, because we are getting a zombie show, right, Yeah,
we're getting We're getting an animated Marvels zombie show. But
I also love that it's it can also address the
things that they might have left open in the movies
or the TV shows and really put a button on

(30:29):
it in my opinion, and so I love that strategy.
I didn't even think this show was gonna make it
when when they started cutting the TV shows and changing
the TV shows, like, I didn't know if the show
was gonna make it. And obviously when they did the
whole animation animation the zombie show that's getting ready to
come out, I was like, oh, okay, I see like

(30:51):
there's much more of a strategy about how they're going
to be doing these shows instead of just doing shows
and we don't know where they fit and we don't
know how they fit it, and then they have to
they're like locked in to having to make them. Cannon
and I love about the shows because it's completely not can't.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
Some of it is and some of it's not.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
Yeah, it's basically the mc US else worlds, but they're
using all the talent, which I think is great. Yeah.
I think everybody still upset that we didn't see Dark,
Strange and Multiverse of Madness. At this point, I'm saying
it over it. I'm sorry it didn't happen, but I
like I still say I say the all the time.
I think people are just but heard that that I'm uh,

(31:34):
Mitch fantastic, Mitch Fantastic was killed insus Madness. People so
upset about it. That's why I got through Rapid Dez.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
Other than that, I think I think you're right about that.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
And also they have said that that one was the
bad guy. I'm like, well, did you see one division.
She didn't do a good thing. She didn't do a
good thing. So that's just me. I'm not. I'm not.
If you don't like it, you don't like it.

Speaker 2 (31:54):
It's the only gripe.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
The only gripe I have is that it's the only
time that we get to see Black Bull. And I'm
a huge I'm a huge inhumans like comic book fan,
and so the fact that they I was like, oh,
Black Bowl and there they got the same guy from
the TV show but in a comic book and then
they killed him and I was like, oh, you hurt
my heart. They've never brought they've never even mentioned them

(32:20):
like in the same way. Again, I haven't even seen
them in what If? So like maybe I did, maybe
maybe I maybe they were in one episode, but like
I just I love that they're doing this show because
you can just you can decide, they can decide what's
canon and what's not, and then they can pluck from
that and they're like, you know what, we're gonna make
this cannon here, we go right over here, or they

(32:42):
can just do an entirely new show like they're doing.
I keep talking about the zombies, but I think it's
great that they're breaking taking an ip that they did
an episode of and then making.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
A whole show around it.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
Yeah, you know, get people used to different things and
not seeing well, it's not like that in the comic books. Okay, cool, Right,
there's a way to change this around and it still
be enjoyable and it not feel like they're just rehashing
whatever's in the comics.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
And also storms, God's a thunder. That's amazing.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
Facts. Facts, That's all. That's all I needed.

Speaker 4 (33:13):
Man.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Uh So, yeah, what If? Season three starts December twenty seconds,
so you can start your Christmas week off with with
some what if action, and then if you're off the
whole that whole week, you get something to watch every day,
which is pretty cool. You go, so an interest of
time that I gotta get my daughter in like twenty minutes,
we're gonna skip on. Oh we're good, We're gonna skip

(33:35):
mission imposible because I really want to spend some time
diving into this Captain America trailer.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
So yes, so listen to it.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
So Captain America trailer was also released doing the D
twenty three event in Brazil. I watched this like three
times already. I'm ready. I'm so ready for this. So, yeah,
you gotta tell me we got it ready, we can
cue it.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
Up, Brad, give me one second?

Speaker 1 (34:02):
Yeah, man, this I mean. I was already hype for
a Captain American movie. After the end of I'm talking
with the Soldier.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
The vibe, this vibe is just different. It's just a
different vibe.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Okay, are you ready? I'm ready?

Speaker 4 (34:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Three two one in play.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
You asked for me.

Speaker 8 (34:26):
Here I am.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
You want to help me? Is there anything you.

Speaker 7 (34:33):
Remember, ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
States, Harrison Ford, whatever this is, camp, be careful, m.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
What do we know?

Speaker 7 (35:01):
There were five shooters. This was a coordinator terrorist attack, sir.

Speaker 4 (35:07):
I was wartime in general. Now my wartime here, four
red circle has been compromised. Let me fix it. Watch yourself.

Speaker 6 (35:18):
You're not Steve Rogers, You're right.

Speaker 4 (35:21):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Yeah, Steaming had wings. I got langs.

Speaker 7 (35:30):
Wait for it.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
That was awesome.

Speaker 4 (35:37):
We're on the brink of war.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
I was thinking about that. Sam Job I'll let's tell
you when it we're done.

Speaker 8 (35:46):
Nothing about this feels right.

Speaker 4 (35:47):
That's Maptain America.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
You ever ask yourself who's playing who?

Speaker 1 (35:58):
Come on?

Speaker 8 (35:59):
Come on, someone's been pulling the strings on everything.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
You're under arrest.

Speaker 6 (36:09):
I don't want a variable out there that I can't control. Oh,
Captain America caught without his wings?

Speaker 8 (36:21):
You'd like to play dress up.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
And blindly execute the state's orders.

Speaker 8 (36:27):
You don't even know what this is.

Speaker 7 (36:32):
Oh since when were they read you want me.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
One? Oh? Right, Valentine's Day? Just like bro, this movie
looks like it's taking that political intrigue of Winter Soldier

(37:14):
I won't say Civil War as much and walking Winter
Soldier and kind of repacking the git right in this
movie again basically almost doing what Secret Innovationion couldn't do.
Yeah you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Yeah for sure.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
Like even the way they're presenting like its slides from
an old school spy like file when it just says,
you know, Marvel Studio, Like even that vibe is different,
and then the vibe where they're doing the line, even
the visual where they're doing the line, they're cutting yep,
the middle of the screen and separating the screen and
then that whole face to face like with him and

(37:50):
Anthony Mackie clearly like pitting them against each other at
like that trailer.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
Whoever did that trailer? Like lights Out?

Speaker 3 (37:59):
I love that they picked up from the teaser because
you see you see Karl Lumbley's character Isaac basically get
up and do something in the teaser so quickly. I
love that they just kind of paid it off in
the trailer. Oh he he's in jail. Something actually really happens.
It's not a drink like.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
I love that, And I'm totally here for this movie.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
And also I can't remember the name of the character
he's playing about John Caller Szo's character, the villain in
this seems very Zemo wish from Civil War. He's not
obviously gonna mean because he's an advanced age He's not
going to fight Sam one on one and win. This
is not gonna happen. But he's playing shadow games. He's
moving pieces on the chess board and everybody's trying to
catch up the same way Zemo did. Because obviously Zemo

(38:43):
wasn't one of the defeat Captain America or Iron Man
or Black Panther in a fist fight. We've seen that.
We've seen that they're doing the same thing in this
also we see this too. We didn't see him fly,
but we see the dude from fucking one of the soldier.
He has a Falcon suit. So we have two flys
and be really cool.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Joaquin Torres he played by Danny Mari Danny Ramirez.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
Yeah, and the other thing I saw some people complaining
about they think Sam has a Sam because he does
a superhero landing in a suit. But you gotta remember
where you got a suit from, got suit from Wakanda?
What what does vibranium do? It absorbs vibrations. And I
also think because the way he landed at wait for it,
he must have that same READI ekinetic entry thing that

(39:28):
Chila has in his suit.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
That may I mean to me that makes perfect sense right,
Like to me that that that sets the stage of
he like this is gonna give him the same type
of like to protect him, but also give him that
same to Challa type stuff. Even though people are like, well,
Yeah'challa had the had the had the flower, And I'm

(39:52):
like Tony had a suit, yeah, so why why can't
this suit be kind of like a combination of the
two and that in that sense because when he landed
he had a helmet.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
On exactly, so that means the helmet a high high,
high altitude flying as well. So he's made some adjustments
and that's fine with me.

Speaker 5 (40:08):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
The other thing I know about this this movie is
that this third X is gonna be crazy. The third
is gonna be great because it looks like to me,
I'm just looking at the trailer, it looks like that
scene over the Atlantic with with with the war the warship,
that's just part of the third act. But then also

(40:30):
whenever that's finished, here's the fourth hawks out and again
I did with that. So I feel I feel like
it might it might have that dark Knight vibe where
we did it Chokers defeated, Oh no, two Face has
your wife and son, you know what I mean. I
think it might have that that that that feel to it.
I was like, if they pull I've been saying this
for for a while. I think Thunderbolt is gonna be
a home run. This needs to be a double hit,

(40:52):
a double and we're gonna yeah they.

Speaker 3 (40:54):
Need it, yeah yeah, Because it just feels like they
are like, we need to turn it up a little bit,
Like we need to establish Anthony Mackie as Captain America,
and this is the best way.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
To do it is to give him his own film.
Here's the other give him.

Speaker 3 (41:12):
A black director to work with, right, and Julius Ona right,
a guy who who he hasn't done very much. Like
I'm looking at his his filmography right now, he hasn't done.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
He's young.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
I think the only thing that we would probably understand no,
is the Cloverfield.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
Paradox, right, Oh yeah, but that was yeah, yeah, yeah.
So like I think it looks good, it feels good.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
Right, It doesn't feel like a regular Marvel movie. Which
I think a lot of people were complaining about is
that Marvel has this vibe now and they have this
formula and it all feels kind of the same. And
I think in this next phase, I think they're really
trying to like push the envelope and go, hey, we.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
Can get a little gritty too.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
We feel a little dark too, and these are the
things that we're gonna put out in front of you
when it comes to that. Like that opening scene with
Karl Lumbley and he's like, you can tell you can
feel the tension you can tell Anthony Mackie's pissed, right,
He's like, what do you have to tell me? And
he's like, I'm just telling you like this that, and
then it sets him on this path of conspiracies like

(42:25):
how did Thunderbolt or else become the president? But I
think it's it's it's a good just the position to
Secret Invasion. I think this is what's like again, like
we're saying about Thunderbolts in these and in these other films,
it's what Secret Invasion probably was supposed to be. And
I think this movie is going to be.

Speaker 1 (42:44):
Yeah. And another thing that's good for this movie is
that once Kevin Focky was put back in power when
Bob Chapak was forced out, thank god, he saw this movie.
It was like, nah, do it again? This is ain't it?

Speaker 2 (42:56):
Pretty much?

Speaker 1 (42:56):
That That's what I'm pretty much he did that with
this one. He did that also of Daredevil, like not
saying that do it again. I think he did it
to a degree with Iinheart as well. So if Kevin
Focky saw what was supposed to being, was like, we're
shooting this from scratch basically what this was two movies.
There's a movie they made a year ago, and there's
this one. Now. I'm sure there's gonna be elements of

(43:17):
the last one is gonna be in this one. I'm
not sure it will be a ten out of ten,
but I feel like this can be a strong seven
and seven point eight, you know, maybe a strong eight
out of ten. I think this could be the launching
point of I mean this, Thunderbolts and Fantastic four. We
could be like, oh wow, Marvel was doing it again

(43:37):
and we know the issue was Yep, it was the
other guy.

Speaker 3 (43:40):
Because yeah, because it doesn't feel like they're just going,
all right, we're gonna do this, We're gonna do this,
We're gonna do this. It feels like they're being more
selective about the things that they're putting out and how
they're putting out. Even watching as Agatha all along, I
love that series. It was great and I was like, yeah,
I was like, this is done very very well. Right,
it's a short, it's like eight episodes. It worked really

(44:01):
well because you can tell that there's somebody, there's a
guiding hand back in Marvel, guiding the narrative, guiding the
overarching thing. And that's what FIGI was good for and
so when they when they kind of made him like
this false this false head, right, like he's just head
in name, and then they're controlling everything. Like the best

(44:21):
thing Marvel could have ever done is allow hire the
directors and allow them to do the movie that they
wanted to do.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
That's why you hired them.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
And so when the studios get involved, it changes, it
changes the I mean for lack of changes the soul
of it, right, it changes not it makes it less.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
Not to mention it and not to mention when when
when Pak was in charge, it wasn't like another studio head.
It was a banker who was in charge of Marble.

Speaker 3 (44:50):
It wasn't like a creative and he's just like put
this out, put this out, put this out, Put all
of these shows out. And then what happens is then
you have to make them all collect like connect in
some way, because that's the established that's what that's what
the status quo Marvel has established. So when you have
a guy who doesn't understand comic books, who doesn't understand
how to connect story like Kevin Figy does, and I

(45:14):
know people out there, there are a lot of people
out there who don't necessarily like Kevin Figy because of
the choices he's made. I think he's done a marvel
marvelous job, no pun intended, but I think he's gonna
like when you really look at the span of what
made the The Infinity Saga so good, I like that
is the crown jewel of Kevin Figy, which is why

(45:36):
people get mad at Kevin figu Union and out stuff.
And I'm like, I think he's earned enough rope for
me to trust that whatever he's gonna do is going
to is gonna come out and make sense at the end.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
So I mean, I'm here for it again. This is
another movie I'm really here for.

Speaker 3 (45:50):
Plus I'm all about supporting Anthony Mackie as Captain America.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
That's what I'm about me too.

Speaker 1 (45:56):
And then also getting this getting this grounded level of
the you kicked off again. We've been in space a lot.
On the last movie. We were in the end of
the World time with deadpol Woverine. So let's go grounded
with this and Thunderbolts and we can get spectacular again
with Fantastic four. I'm excited for it. February fourteenth. Get
your tickets when they're on sale. I probably won't because

(46:18):
I don't see the point of that. Honestly, I'd like
go to a day of that's just me though, that's
just me.

Speaker 2 (46:22):
Yeah yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
But Mike, I want to thank you for joining me
on this very very special trailer field episode of Christ
Names the Podcast. I know it was late in the
day for me, I guess for you is mid afternoon,
probably just going to get go, get some dinner.

Speaker 2 (46:36):
Arrow right, just hit five o'clock. Yeah, yeah, it's just
five o'clock here in La.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
By the way, what's it like watching Raw at five
o'clock in La? It must be great?

Speaker 2 (46:44):
Can I tell you? It's awesome. It's awesome because I
get my wrestling out of the way.

I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before.
