Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome back to the nerdy news and need to Know
throughout the week on iHeartRadio and bye cast services around
the world. Take two, because myne Anthony, you're teddy correct
and you're officially listener to this Thursday episode. Watch Chatty
Crisis on Infinite Podcast. Yeah, good job, you're God, good job,

(00:32):
good job. No sad whales, No said whales at all,
but it is a favorite of mine. It is a
so low do low episode, and what a solo dolo
episode for it to be, because there's a lot going
on today. Not only were we talking about Daredevil episodes
five and six, which were Chef's Kiss, but we're talking

(00:53):
about new casting for Hagrid, we're talking about a potential
Scooby Doo reboot by this time on Netflix no Velma
You're not the Scooby Doo thing we'll ever get here nowadays,
And obviously we'll be breaking down all that fun casting
for Avengers Doomsday. Actually have it up, you can see
it right now, bloop. We'll be checking in on that
periodically whenever new things get announced. We won't keep it

(01:13):
up with the entire time, just in case we get claimed,
which might happen either way. Who knows who the hell knows.
But you can see everything we're going to talk about
today and so much more by keeping a lot at
Infinite Underscore bod Zoni Instagram od we asks go and
give it to We always have a good time there
and can give you some of the reveals and our
reactions to some of these castings and other things like that.

(01:34):
But he also joined us in the video version of
the podcast. If you are listening to audio version of podcasts,
you can check out which I'm about to click right now,
bloop us myself really reacting to who gets announced next
in the Avengers Doomsday cast. Well, currently it's Pedro Pascala.
It's mister fantastic. But we'll get to the other ones
and recap those in a little bit, don't you worry.

(01:55):
So see that Twitch dot tv slash Infinite Underscore pods
or YouTube dot com slash Infinite un Score pods as well.
But Kevin had to play play had to do double
dad duty today, which is totally okay. That's what happens.
We've got kids, they come first. Family comes first of
this podcast, and then entertainment news that comes second, and
then everything else after, right, Teddy Count's family, so he's

(02:15):
number one. But in lieu of Kevin not being here,
we're still gonna go on the show. The fun thing
is Nationals Opening Day is tomorrow. Is this podcast recording,
which is really exciting if you live in d C
and Virginia. If you live in Maryland, don't worry. Orioles
Opening Day is on Monday, and I can't wait to
be part of both. Tomorrow will be at Solo's Outpost,
and then on Monday we're gonna be at the Orange Tailgate,

(02:38):
kind of closer to M and T Bank Stadium for
the Orioles, but exciting nonetheless because I get to bust
out my Orioles and Nationals jerseys. Every time. It's like, yeah,
that's right, this feels right. It's that time of the year.
You know I'm saying, but we always said the podcast
properly with a little thing I like to call what
You're Doing, where we talk about the shows and movies
we've been watching, games, we've been playing, we've been living,

(03:02):
and because Teddy can't speak, besides, if it's the crisis intro,
I get to talk on and only essentially I did
have to go to the dentist today, which is fun
and its first time been in a dentist since pandemic.
I didn't tell them that. They don't need to know that,
and just one of those things where as an adult,
dentist still isn't as fun as it was as a kid,

(03:22):
because I remember back of the day as a kid.
I don't know if I had the fun dentist, but
they had one of those you know there. I call
it the boob tube, the very big square TV up
in the ceiling somehow, and would give you a Nintendo
sixty four controller to play like wave Runner or Pokemon
Snap while they're working on the teeth, and like I'll
do anything if you give me Pokemon Snap. You know, say,

(03:46):
but those are the good old days. But also that
same dentist was the one who pulled up my cane
nineteenth so if you ever see Hoodie bite something, well
at missing little tooth there, But dentis was cool. It
is an interesting time as an adult, like oh doing
visilne Like I do not have the money for that
credit card. Maybe I don't know, I don't know, but

(04:09):
it isn't a time and it's a weird thing with
dental insurance. I feel like at least of mine, where
that insurance doesn't cover everything. And I always remember back
of the insurance covered everything. Granted I didn't pay for
anything because my parents did. But it is what it is.
It is what it is. But that's the live stuff really.
Obviously NAT's and opening and the Orioles opening day soon
and there is a new Actually we're gonna pause right

(04:31):
now because it makes sense, we are going to switch
over to the next Avengers Doomsday casting because obviously he's
Robert Downing Jr. And he actually pulled out of the casting.
And that's pretty funny, all right, this is really funny.
So this is really funny. The Avengers Dooms. They casting
have announcing chairs the whole time. I think it literally

(04:54):
just ended. So I think we literally just got to
the end of it as of this podcast. Accordingons, Wow,
it's been going on for five and a half hours. Now,
is this We'll see if this is the actual end,
because I feel like there's a lot more people gonna
be there than they really think right now. Currently, I
had it up just for chair of you. I do
not have it up for full scare view versus Avengers

(05:15):
doomsdays in production, I'm gonna go back to Solo Fu.
We'll see what happens with that, because it still says
live and m interesting. Interesting. We'll get to Avengers Doomsday.
We'll talk about that and all that good stuff. But
I do think I forgot where it was. It my
excite for baseball, that's what it is. But as far

(05:36):
as show and game wise, boy did finish the the
one is it called my showcase In w W two
K twenty five, I'm am the tribal chief now of
the bloodline at least in that game, and two K
twenty five has been a good, just mindless game. As
you know, we gear up for a lot more bigger
games than Dominy our timeline. Obviously, Avengers Adventures Assassin's Creed

(05:57):
Shadows is out, and Kevin's been having a ball with that,
and I do think once Last of Us Season two
comes out in like thirteen two weeks essentially, I think
that's why I'm gonna bite the bullet and play that
game finally, because I've been thinking it would go on sale,
but no one's really said anything. It did end, all right,
the live stream did end. So we're just gonna go
to the beginning of that and have a good time.

(06:18):
But yeah, two K twenty five is a good mindless
game if you need something like that. As far as
watching wise, though, I am happy to say more than
I did. Start The Residence on Netflix, which has actually
been pretty good. It is the next I guess Shondaland
series on there. Obviously Bridgerton for me, Bridgerston was big,
and then this is pretty big as well as a

(06:38):
very stacked cast of comedians. If people are like, oh,
I know that person, I've seen them in that, I've
seen them in that. And Teddy needs to watch his
butt because he's biting his butt, that's okay. You know
we got a parent here, well, Teddy is here. But
it's actually pretty good. It's a good murder mystery set
in the White House. And it is funny because I
know we talked about Paradise on this show earlier and

(06:59):
hold on, Teddy, we're gonna relax and later Lada, he
is parenting one on one. Right now, there we go
is there's an actor that is on Paradise. He is
like a janitor for the White House. He's actually like
in the same role on Residence, so it's like he's
kind of typecasted as janitor for White House. I guess what, Hey,

(07:22):
get that money baby Hulu and Netflix at the same time,
and it came out within weeks of each other, really,
but it is a good murder mystery. And we're about
halfway through, so we haven't figured out what's going on,
but it does keep you going, like, all right, we
figure out that, but that puzzle isn't solved full yet.
We're still narrowing down the puzzle and getting there eventually.

(07:42):
And then also on Netflix, and Kevin will be really proud,
and I'll talk to him about on Monday, obviously Monday's episode,
because I think he'll have some thoughts. Jurassic World Camp
Cretaceous is actually pretty good, y'all. I know, Kevin's kind
of been the pariah for that show on Netflix, which
is then made a kids spin off show of the
Drastic Park franchise, really Drastic World. And I said last

(08:06):
week that I watched Drastic World Dominion with Mora and
we I said, you know what, she won't watch this,
but I will. It's pretty good, very fun, parallel just
to everything going on in the Parks, at least the
first part, because I'm in season one right now. I
think I'm about to finish it up, which will be dope.
But it is like, here is the Dominus Rex, here
is you know, the Mosasaurus, And I just got an

(08:27):
episode where they escaped the Mosasaurus, and I think it's
really cool that it worked out. And from what I
can tell, I think this is going to be another
show like a Clone Wars where the first season looks
a little rough stories there and it kind of gets
this thing. I know, Chaos theory is kind of a
spin off like a Star Wars rebels to a degree
as well. But if you've been sleeping on a show,

(08:47):
want some dino action maybe ahead of Jurassic World Rebirth
that comes out this summer, which is wild. You could
check that out too on Netflix. But that's pretty much
what I have been doing. So let's really get into
what you hear for. It's the Avengers casting so pretty
much all day. Like I said, I kind of rewinded.
It literally just ended, which is my luck on this

(09:07):
podcast recording, thinking it would go on the whole time
preparing for it, but all day to day, starting at
eleven o'clock really in the past five and a half hours,
every twelve ish minutes or so they would reveal a
new cast member for Avengers Doomsday. It started off with
Chris Hemsworth. No, none of the actors were actually in it.
It literally was just their chairs. You've probably seen the

(09:29):
memes if not, you will of people saying hold on,
I'm watching the chairs, hold on watching the chairs get revealed,
and we all collectively just joined hand in hand to
see who would be revealed as a chair. But in
no teddy, Hey, hold on, we're gonna We're gonna parent
Teddy room. Hey, there we go. We got we got them,

(09:53):
we got them, but in no particular order or it was.
It really was revealed one act at a time. Didn't
really like span generations or this was an og Avenger,
this was a new Avenger. It was just here are
the actors and whatever reveal we want to do them.
Throughout the entire time, you know, we first got announced,

(10:13):
Chris Hampson were thinking, oh is this thore five or
is this something because the news kind of came out
of nowhere. Really was a TikTok, I know straw Hat,
Goofy and soups friends of the podcast that they kind
of announced something big coming from Marvel for at eleven
o'clock and everyone went live. I filmed my reaction at
eleven o'clock and I was like, I'm not waiting here
all day for a twelve hour reveal. Some people have

(10:36):
on TikTok kudos the US. We're just gonna skip through
all the reveals when we can. And we turns out
we find out that Marvel has been posting this livestream
the entire day, and it would be the Avengers account
that would reveal the actual casting. Chris Hemsworth Avengers now
Doomsday now in production sensing that they're in the movie.
So Chris Hemsworth being in it makes total sense. He store.

(10:59):
I mean at this point, really like you have to
have him. He is the lad besides Mark Ruffalo and
or Bruce Banner and Hawkeye. He's the other og Avenger
and he's the main leading man Avenger out of that
trinity we all kind of praise back in the day.
It makes sense. Now we'll be interested to see how

(11:20):
he revolves around other characters, but we'll see. And I
think the main thing is when this gut announced or
when this started happening. I did talk to other people
in the office like hey, like Doomsday is great, but like,
we don't know who's gonna be in that movie, and like,
what are they teeing up, because we need to kind
of see that to really see like who's going to
interact with who, Who is the leader of the Avengers

(11:40):
if we're doing that type of an Avengers movie, like
an age of Ultraum where they're assembled already or they
assembling again. And this revealed kind of kind of inks
us into what we think the plot will be of
Avengers Doomsday. But the next one was Vanessa Kirby, which
was great. Obviously, she'll be Sue Storm Invisible Woman coming
out in Fantastic four later this year. We haven't seen

(12:01):
her really what's going on with that? Is she gonna
be pregnant? I know that's the rumor right now in
the movie. But cool. Nonetheless that we already kind of
knew that the Fantastic forecast we're gonna be in Doomsday
because that's what we've kind of all been told the
entire time. Next one up, and this was great Anthony Mackie.
Great for him. Now will he be the leader of
the Avengers, Will he come into his role as the

(12:21):
leader of the Avengers that's what these next two Avengers
movies will probably be about and exciting to see. I
do think Bravener World had good bones. Obviously we liked
it a lot, but I think, you know, wasn't one
of the top Marvel movies, but it was something to
keep Marvel going forward. I mean know, THUNDERBOLTZ is coming
out this year, and it's kind of interesting to see
just what are we doing now, because in a year

(12:43):
from now, Avengers Doomsday will be out, and then Avengers
Secret Wars at the same a year later as well.
Then about fifteen ish minutes after that, And I timed
it because I was I drove home for thirty minutes,
so I got two reveals on my drive home. We
got Shabastian stan now Oz Academy Award winning Sebastian stand
which very fitting. They revealed him after Anthony Mackie makes

(13:05):
sense he's won our Soldier and kind of gives us
a clue. And obviously we'll get a little bit more
and we get more casting that Thunderbolts. At least the
cast of Thunderbolts or some of the casts of Thunderbolts
will live through the movie and tee up Doomsday to
a degree. I don't think it's gonna be like end
of Thunderbolts. Here's what's gonna happen in Doomsday, but it
will be our players we liked in Thunderbolts are MVPs.

(13:27):
They'll be there as well. Then after that we did
get Latisha Wright as Black Panther, as the now Black
Panther as surey, we'll be making a comeback as well.
This is great because really what cond of Forever was
kind of its own had to be its own thing,
really just because everything with Chadwick, the late Chadwick Boseman.

(13:50):
But it is cool to see, you know, she is
gonna be Surrey. Now will she be the Black Panther again.
We'll find out in this movie and they'll tee up
hopefully a Black Panther three or whatever that pops up
as well. Well. After that, after Letitia, we did get
the small confirmation that Paul Rudd were returning as ant
Man in The Littlest Littlest Tidy Chair. And the cooling
with these reveals was that each chair would reveal a

(14:13):
little bit of a theme stinger, so you would hear
the sort of with Black Panther and Paul Rudd was
that very like heisty theme we heard from the og
Ant movie ant Man movies two, which is cool, makes sense.
I mean, Paul Rudd, I think he's an easy get
one as an actor, to two he loves being ant Man,
and three we like to seeing him being goofy as

(14:34):
ant Man. And you know, like Endgame, he did get
could get his shine in Endgame, and I do think
hopefully this leads him as being more of a bigger
Avenger and not just someone in the background like like
a Hawkeye is to a degree as well. But this
was cool because the next casting was why at Russell
just we know he's gonna be US agent John Walker,

(14:55):
so we assume he survives to a degree in Thunderble.
And because after that we got the the reconfirmation that
Tana Quarto Mahia aka no More will be returning with
out some wings on his legs, so he'll be interested
to see because I know in the comics No More
does kind of romance up Sue's Storm when we get

(15:17):
some hints of that, most likely, I assume, but cool
to see we are getting what was a villain turned
now a hero eventually an Avenger coming back and I
think that's really cool because we haven't really had that
since Lowki. Obviously we have all the Thunderbolts two degree,
but as a main movie villain, it's cool to see
to know Quarto come back as well. Then after that,

(15:40):
about fifteen minutes later, it's fun because I have to
skip around. We got confirmation Ebon Moss back Rocks coming back.
He's gonna be the thing that makes sense. Like I said,
Fantastic four, but this was kind of a big one.
Simulio finally coming back a shung Chi in the MCU.
It's been a while, y'all since the worst shunk Chi movie.
I think slept On I think really good for the timing.

(16:02):
Dustin Daniel Cretins now was supposed to be doing Doomsday
in Secret Wars at one point, now doing Spider Man.
I think this is great. This was like, hey, we
had Eternals and we had this and we were like,
you know what, this is what we want, and you know,
Marvel's on that still going on that high still with Shunch.
We got a new generation and this is really cool
because we can really follow up on the character and

(16:23):
see what's going on since the first shun Ti movie.
Will we get a shunk Chi two would assume so too,
and we get to see him actually interact with the
Avengers besides just Wong will the end credit scenes of
shunk Chi tee up down anything? Who knows, because it
really was felt like it was teeing up Kang. But
I feel like they will rework that and Miss Marvel

(16:43):
to a degree with their powers to kind of integrate
into eventually secret Wars and wherever else they want to
go with everything. After Similio, we found out Florence Pughs
being out of the cast makes sense once again with
the Thunderbolts, uh, and then after Florence and make sure
it adds up here we go. We did get our
first confirmation Kelsey Grammar's coming back as Beast in the MCU.

(17:06):
Y'all yep, teed at the end credits of the marvels
uh where the Monica Rambo. I think I believe so
was teed into a different dimension or a different world. Yep.
We're gonna get Kelsey Grammar, and to a degree, I
assume that's we'll get some other characters that or we
revealed later. It is interesting. I will say that the

(17:29):
actress who plays Monica Rambo. I think it is Monica Ramba.
Monica Rambo, not Monica Rambo. It is Maria Rambo. Sorry,
that's where we go where she was photon. Oh, No,
it was Monica Rambo, Yeah, it was. It was okay.
We had to remember, we had to remember that the

(17:49):
Marvel None of the Marvels got announced to this cast.
So I don't think that all this casting is the
entire casting roster for what's gonna be in this movie,
but there's maybe more. Characters have speaking roles to a degree.
We think who knows, but Kelsey Grammer coming is cool
and it'll be cool to see him flesh out. Lewis
Pullman coming makes sense obviously some Thunderbolts. It is interesting
that Louis Pullman will be century who's all intents and

(18:11):
purposes a villain, maybe not the villain of Thunderbolts, but
is coming back, so we'll inter just see what he
does in some capacity and how far he goes in
the movie. We did get also that our boy Danny Ramirez,
the homie, he'll be coming back as well, which is
great for him. We kind of teed this up when
we actually interviewed them I'm like, hey, you guys are
gonna be in Vendors, right, and they're like, we'll never

(18:33):
say anything, but we did get Joseph Quinn's coming makes sense.
He's Johnny Storm. David Harbor from thunder Bolts makes sense
as well. And then Winston Duke Baku himself coming, which
makes sense. I mean, she's now sure, He's now sure.
He's kind of second in command, kind of how O
Koyer was to Challa's second Commandbaku's kind of become the

(18:58):
new number two, which is great. I think Winston Duke
has killed it. I think it's great for him to
get more shine because Maku was a crowd crowd favorite,
crowd pleaser, and Kevin religiously taught Lea how to do
the war cry from Black Panther and the Avengers Infinity War.
On top of that, Hannah John Camman, who's playing Ghost,

(19:20):
will be coming back. And this was kind of a
big reveal after Hannah John came in. Tom Hiddleston will
be in Avengers Doomsday. Now will it be Loki the
God of Stories? At the end of Loki Season two?
Will be some other Loki, And the main question is
will Loki reunite with Chris with Thor. I hope they do,

(19:40):
and it'll be really cool to see, you know, Thor
seeing his brother now being responsible being the god he
thought he'd be seeing the sunshine again on Asgard. Hell yeah,
this was probably the one of the coolest casting or
casting announcements because everyone loves Tom Hddleston and why not
add him there are there's no instance like the font

(20:01):
being different on the chairs is just chair fun, so
there's no difference on that. After that, though, we did
get some X men casting news. Patrick Stewart will be
coming back obviously you assume as Professor X. And on
top of that Patrick Stewart coming back, Sir Ian McKellen
will also be coming back, actually his first time in
the MCU as Magneto. So you're kind of seeing we're

(20:22):
painting a picture here. There's a lot of X men
I said we're going for right now. Well, don't worry
because after that we got Alan coming coming back as
night Crawler. Hell yes, we haven't seen him as a
Nightcrawler in forever and we're on the renaissance of Alan
coming because thanks to the Traders. I'm glad as hell
now pop up and Spy Kids again his sloop. Will

(20:43):
he do all the Payton all that, or we'll be
Cgi who knows? But Alan coming will do it. He'll
do it, you know you will. We also found out
Rebecca Romain will be coming back. She'll be playing Mystique. Nope,
we won't be getting Jennifer Lawrence Mistek, He'll be Rebecca Romain.
And then we also found out James Marsden will be
returning as Cyclops will probably die. So my where I'm

(21:05):
gonna go with X Men casting, you'll find out in
a hot second, because we then found out, Oh, I'm
gonna make a name for myself here, Channing Tatum coming
back as well, and to do Pedro Pascal obviously mister fantastic.
And at the end it was we go here Robert
Downey Junior obviously playing Doom the most obvious casting news,

(21:31):
of course. But the main thing here is with a
lot of the X Men characters, I'll switch back to
me now because they've done the news. I think what's
gonna happen is we're gonna pull an Avengers Infinity War
again where Loki dies at the beginning. I think we're
gonna get all these X Men characters and you're like,
all right, cool. Rebecca Romaine's mystique is cool, but I

(21:52):
don't really need to see it for a whole movie.
And I think their planet gets destroyed or killed to
a degree that we land there or something. Maybe that
is where the Fantastic Four land after they leave their
Earth at the end of Fantastic Four four steps instead
of our proper MCU and we hang out with those characters,
but we know they're doomed because Avengers Doomsday or and

(22:15):
maybe that is Fantastic Four in the X Men versus Avengers,
who technically Secret Wars is just an Avengers versus X
Men plot plot line essentially. I do think Chanonato's game
is great, as Gambit is great. I think that is
the Gambit from Deadpool and Wolverine. It is interesting they
didn't announce Hugh Jackman as Wolverine or Brian Reynolds is Deadpool,

(22:35):
which makes me think that we're not getting everybody from Doomsday.
They're saving everybody for Secret Wars, but hey, we're giving
you the X spin for Doomsday, and I think that
plot line is okay. Cool. Tony Stark Robert Downey Junior
in the X Men universe is Doctor Doom or Victor
von Doom, whatever you want to do, and it is

(22:56):
a Fantastic Four coming from their world to ours. They
find out out that Doctor Doom goes crazy, blows up
their world, tries to look for other worlds and it
is displaced. Now X Men or x Men and Fantastic
Four against the Avengers. That way, we kind of get
two blot points and maybe we don't see our Avengers
as much because we're seeing the other other universe as well.

(23:18):
It could work. I mean that's my theory right now.
There's probably a ton of theories overall, but I think
a lot of people hate it on that this reveal was,
you know, took a whole five hours, and it's every
fifteen minutes. They had thirty two million people watching the
stream at one point, I believe on just Twitter alone,
So like Marvel is smart, and all they really need
to do is show you pictures of chairs every fifteen minutes,

(23:41):
it will go crazy and I can speculate a podcast
just based on that alone. But I think this is
the first step you need to do Avengers Doomsday. Now
in production, we all knew iss going to start production
this month. Hey, can't help it's last like six days
of the month. It is what it is with the
movie coming out next year and needs to do that.
It'll be interest see how cgi heavy it is, just
because years quick of a turnaround. And are they filming

(24:05):
a Venders Secret Wars back to back kind of how
they did with Infinity warn endgame? Who knows it. I
know the Russo Brothers kind of getting a little dogged
on because of Electric State. But I do think I
think the statement Sto holds true at least for the
Marvel stuff. In Russo Brothers. We trust in Filoni, we
trust in Russo Brothers, we trust and I mean, the
pieces are there. We'll just see what type of story

(24:27):
they make with those pieces and see where we go
from there. But that wasn't really the only casting news
we got today, which is wild because I thought that
wasn't gonna happen at all, because we did get other
casting more rumors more than confirmation. But we might know
who's playing Hagrid in the Harry Potter series on Max
that's tentatively also supposed to come out next year. Next

(24:49):
year gotta be stacked with my pee, y'all, because According
to our friends at comic book dot Com, it is
rumored right now, on top of John Lithgow being tapped
to play for us or Dumbledore, that Nick Frost will
be playing Hagrid. Now, if you're confused on who Nick
Frost is, that is the is Simon Pegg's best friend.

(25:10):
He's in every movie he's in of that Cornado trilogy,
The Shawan of the Dead, The End of the World,
Hot Fuzz, He's the bigger guy. He also voiced sm
thirty three in Skeleton Crew and I think, really, if
you're gonna have a lovable of which, let's face it,
that's what Haggard really is. Nick Frost plays that very well.

(25:34):
Now will Haggard be giant like he kind of is?
And it was wild when you watch sort of the
behind the scenes on a Harry Potter movie when you
find out that the actor who played Hagrid didn't do
any of the standing scenes for him. It was another
tall actor that did that, that had had a Hagrid
mask on the entire time. Who knows? And I hope

(25:55):
you know we don't lean on CGI heavy because it
makes those movies whimsical. And you know, when you go
ride Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure TM at Universal or Islands of Adventures.
It's cool seeing like that's what Hackrid relically really looked
like if he was right in front of me. You know,
it's not one hundred percent confirmed. It is along the
lines of some of the castings we've had for Snape
and Professor McGonagall. But at this point, I think you

(26:18):
kind of got to reel your cats out of the bag.
Are we waiting for a Harry Potter Day in August
slash September? Or when they announce, you know, the Ministry
of Magic Stuff or they reveal the Ministry of Magic
Stuff in Epic Universe? Who knows? But I mean I
think that's good casting. I know, John Lethgal people are
like Nick Frost to me makes sense. I mean, who
else are you gonna get to play Hagrid? You can't really.

(26:40):
I think Nick Frost will do a good job. But
then on top of that reverse side, we did get
announcement of a new show, Scooby Doo. Yeah, it's getting
a Netflix live action series. Will it go the way
of Sabrina and the Teenage or Chileing Adventures of Sabrina?
Will it go Riverdale. Who knows, but it's on Netflix.
So according to Netflix that actually tweeted out that the

(27:03):
live action Scooby Doo streaming series will be eight episodes
and will chronicle how the Mystery Ink Gang came to
be kind of a prequel. It's a modo reimagining this
iconic mystery solving group of teens been a very special
dog during the final during their final Summer Camp at
Summer at Camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne getting burled
in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane

(27:24):
puppy that may have been witnessed to supernatural murder. According
to the Pots and napsis of the movie, to Guy
there with a pragmatic and scientific towny Velma and a
strange but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set
out to salvet the case that's pulling each of them
in their creepy nightmare that friend's exposed all their secrets.
Hell Yeah. Josh Applebom and Scott Rosenberg will serve as
a series showrunners, writers executive producers. Greg Burlanty is attached

(27:48):
as an executive producer as well. You know from Ara
versus Riverdale fame, So it will be interesting to see
just how this is transcribed. Obviously, we talked about on
this podcast, you know, the past couple years how Velma
kind of went wrong because it really focused in on
Velma and the character and was like, Okay, here are
your Scooby Doo tidbits. But it's kind of its own

(28:09):
thing and it didn't really work out, which is why
I got canceled after two seasons. I think what people
really want is that Scooby Doo magic again. It's worked
for so long to a degree that we got two
movies out of it and what's new Scooby Doo at
the same time. But I think it's kind of been
on the back burner. But it really everyone knows what
Scooby Doo is, and if it's on Netflix and live action,

(28:30):
who knows. I hope it doesn't go to the Riverdale route.
I do think, sure this first season, do your prequel
setup of how they met up, But if you do
get to a second season, do the villain of the
week thing. I mean, I think that's what really worked out. Obviously,
you can have like an overarching villain. I think you're
flash in your arrow, but do Villain of the Weeks
which Flash kind of went in on a lot a

(28:52):
lot of those episodes in like the mid seasons, and
just have fun with it because I think the worst
thing is you go too not as fun with it,
too serious, or you go too wacky and zany and
it doesn't make sense. You got to find the right
balance for that show really to work out. No word
really on one is coming out. I would assume next

(29:12):
year or in early twenty twenty seven as well. But cool,
Like I said, twenty twenty six the year of IP,
a big old year of VIP. But that's not what
you're here for. That's not the only thing here for.
Obviously we've talked about casting, we've talked about movies and
a lot of fun stuff. But it's time to talk
about Daredevil Born Again. And I also forgot to do this.

(29:33):
It's time for the news. If the sound effect works,
If the sound effect work, it's taugh. Nope, it's tame no, no. No.
First things first, even though it's like the fourth thing
we've talked about, it's time to break down the latest
two episodes of Daredevil board again. So let's break it down.

(30:00):
It was a jam pack day for Marvel. I think
we can all say that we're obviously on top of
the Vengers casting. You had two episodes of Daredevil will
come out last night of this podcast recorded, but we
don't watch them at nine o'clock because I was a
little two past our bedtime and we can't be watching
all that violence. Because these episodes were violent right before bedtime.
We don't want them bad dreams. You don't want, We're not.
We don't want Teddy Swim bad dreams. But both episodes

(30:22):
were about forty five minutes long, and I definitely think
I'm gonna say it right now, the fifth episode of
this series might be my favorite episode because it really
some would say Lean's on kind of being like a pilot.
I think this is what Matt Murdoch, the character is,
and this is the world the MCU we also were in,
and both these episodes kind of did that too, because
we had MCU cameos. No it wasn't an iron Man, No,

(30:46):
it wasn't a Hawkeye, but it was characters at the
MCU we've known and experienced before previously coming back and like,
it's cool that we're fleshed out, but we now we
know someone else in that world that we'd be like, hey,
there he is. He's a banker. Hey man, that's cool too.
But episode five was called with Interest, and this was
funny because both episodes coming on now, maybe they should

(31:09):
have released them two weeks ago. So it actually came
out during Saint Patrick's Day because the episode takes place
during Saint Patrick's Day. We get cut with that. It's
Saint Patrick's Day and a New York City, see a
bunch of greens, see shamrocks everywhere, And it turns out
Matt is at a bank looking for a bank loan
for obviously the law firm, just to sort of expand
as much as they want to. And immediately you're like,
oh that bank tale has a Miss Marvel funko pop

(31:31):
on his dess supposed to be a fing Like, oh
wait a second, it's mister Kahn hek Usev Cohn, same
actor from Miss Marvel and obviously the Marvels, and I
thought that was dopa cel to include him in this,
and just like, hey, yeah, he lives in Jersey City,
he probably works in New York City, and he does.
We find out, and this was kind of a cool,

(31:51):
just to see where Kamala is and maybe we'll here's
some things there that Kamala is in California and visiting
friends coast avenders saying, just saying, and I assume this
takes place after the Marvels and all that good stuff.
But it turns out, even though Matt is a good
guy and has good reasonings and Yusuf is a good guy,
he can't approve Matt for a bank loan. So Matt

(32:14):
does leave. As he's leaving in his typical your hero leave,
the villains walk in. We find out the sort of
Irish gang that is Fiscus kind of been working with
in the past. They go and to rob the bank.
After Matt leaves, Kamala's dad still in the bank. He
originally tries to hide from the robbers, but they find
out he is the assistant manager and do call him

(32:35):
out because unfortunately the manager knows the actual code to
get into the vault. He's gone for the day, so
yusif will work even though he doesn't know the code
at all. And I really think this episode did a
good job of just reiterating, like how good of a
dad Yusef is. I mean, we kind of got the
we we didn't get inklings. We saw that in Miss
Marvel obviously when he dressed up his Hulk for the

(32:58):
Thumb to go to the Avengers convention, And I think
it's just a good reminder of like, yeah, like Comal's
got great parts and it's weird to have that in
the MCU. They're not really flawed to a degree. But
eventually Matt does hear the robbery through his you know,
super hearing it doubles back to the bank. He does

(33:18):
pretend that he doesn't know where he is. He gets
thrown in with the rest of the hostages. The cops
do show up, and we find out that Detective Angie Kim,
which is great for her that she was teed up
in the very first episode. She was Cherry's friend. She's
the hostage negotiator for the scenario. Matt does tell Yusef
he can't open the vault. That knows Yusef can't open

(33:40):
the vault through his heartbeat, but he tells Yusuff to stall,
thinking we've seen this in the trailer. Matt's going to
beat some fools up, sort of Batman style, and we
find out the robbers want three APV vehicles. The cops
want two hostages as good faith. Originally, the gang does
want to give Matt away. Matt asked that a married

(34:01):
couple goes out together instead of being separated. That's a
touch touching note, you know, Matt knows, like for a
married couple, that's tragic if one of you get kid
up for another one. Stuck in there, buddy, Matt, I
mean I would say morego, I'll stay here. You know.
We get a good line that Matt pretends he notes

(34:21):
needs to go to the bathroom so that he can
get one of the robbers alone, because apparently in the
vault they're looking for something in the safety deposit boxes.
Matt eventually fights the red mask robber and chokes him out.
He does also knock out the blue robber who's with
Yusef at the vault, and fakes an Irish accident on
the walkie talkies to make sure they're all good. But

(34:41):
Matt does use his blind hearing to open the vault
and Yusuf says, what kind of Laurie are you? And
we get the classic daredevil line, a good one which
we've heard in Lily Everything that Dared Devil's in and
his catchphrase. Eventually, the robbers we find out we're after
a diamond. We don't know really what it's a bounce.
We know they're gonna give it to Luca, who is

(35:02):
one of the He's the gang member that owes another
gang member money that works for Fisk. So this is
I'm assuming was them trying to collect some money for that.
Matt and used to have do pop back up with
the hostages and Matt tries the lawyer out with the robbers,
trying to stall for time as the cops come in
break everything up. Matt does knock out one of the
robbers while there is sort of a smoke grenade going off.

(35:24):
We find out the lead robber, Devlin, poses as a
cop to get out of there and does pass the
diamond on to a random woman who thought was innocent
the whole time. Nope, she was in on it too.
You gotta have one someone on the inside. Matt does
put on a red mask, kind of a little bit
of Spider Man vibes a little bit, fights Devlin out
in the streets away from the cops. This is where
in the trailer we see him stop the guy's knee

(35:45):
and who it was brutal, baby, real brutal, real rough,
stopping Devlin obviously knocking him out. The woman does get away,
we find out the diamonds she had it's fake. It's
actually one of Uss's candies. We find out in literally
five minutes as Matt comes back to the bank like
a week later to hang out with useth Yusef invites
Matt to dinner with the family. I want to see

(36:06):
that crossover now that we've seen them with She Hulk
and we find out Matt put the diamond back in
the candy jar, and it was a damn good episode.
I really think this is what Obviously we have the
sort of the courtroom procedural show episodes we've had in
the past couple weeks, and then we have this, which
is just like, here's Matt being witty, being smart, using

(36:29):
his court sort of cover as a blind lord to
his advantage, but also saving someone that you know would
never really like you would see them interact in the comics,
but never on the movies because they'll have no point.
It's cool to see like our bystandard MCU characters interacting
with some different heroes and being like, oh, I gotta
tell Kamala like this lawyer all of a sudden broke

(36:51):
into everything. So if you see anybody that can do that,
it's probably Matt Murdoch. But it makes sense that we
kind of got this side of Matt Murdock. Episode six,
we really got the true side of Matt Murdoch as
Daredevil called excessive Force. We find out that, uh, there's
a bb report on graffiti artists pretty much saying Muse,

(37:11):
and we find out that this is the Muse sort
of startup episode. We also find out there's other vigilantes
on the rise, swordsmen from Hawkeye, you know, Uh, Kate
Bishop's like step dad or it was her mom's boyfriend
do a degree. Uh makes a little cameo here the
beginning of the episode, and we see that the sanitation
workers find the dead body of a Muse victim. Uh

(37:32):
this art of Muse calling Fisk a kiss ass. We
find out that mus has been mixing blood with the
epoxy so that the paintings can't murals can't be taken down,
which I mean, hey, I mean it's kind of smart
two a degree. I know he's killing people, but it's
smart to a degree. And this episode really was kind
of a back and forth of what is Matt doing,
what is Fisk doing, and how they're both kind of

(37:54):
mirroring each other, really going back being born again as
the same characters, uh, really of back dotting the suit,
and we've seen Fisk becoming a little too big for
his old suit or his current suits as a mayor,
trying to turn him back into that bulky kingpin we
kind of know him as a not the slim, tender
and carrying mayor that he kind of tries to pose upon,

(38:17):
which which is cool. We see that Fist does meet
with the mafia head Luca on his mural office. Luca
doesn't have the money to pay him, so Fisk makes
him kind of tapping him back in an old fist Kingpin,
you're gonna pay a million more and you're gonna have
it by next week. When I was a boy. While
this is going on, Heather Quinn does ask Matt about

(38:39):
being taken hostage. He says, no big deal, and she
says he's doing her next book on vigilantes, and she
asked Matt, hey, do you know the Punisher or Daredevil?
Maybe want to get me in contact so I can
interview him, and Matt kind of deflects as best as
he can. Essentially. Fist then does meet with the head
of Sanitation, which you find out is the METS guy
from the fifth episode. So cool, can acting piece there

(39:00):
to everyone, you know, I mean it's the same city
you run into everybody. While Matt meets with Angela Ayala
aka Hector's niece, finding out that Hector was investigating Muse
as a white Tiger for the kidnappings, and then it's
Angela does have this kind of honest conversation with Matt,
you know, cut the therapy talk, let's talk. And I
do think this episode might really be teeing up Angela

(39:22):
as being Daredevil's sidekick at the MCU as a white Tiger,
which I didn't be really cool. I mean, the grounds
are there. Maybe in season two, maybe not right now
season two Popper back in and the Popper and the
white Tiger outfit. You know. While this is going on,
we find out that Fisk is meeting with the police
commissioner in Angie Kim from last episode that mus has

(39:43):
killed sixty people. And while this is going on, Muse
does fight his next two victims, two girls who wanted
his photo, kind of like a Banksy, so if you
ever run into bank Sea in real life, don't take
his photo, just in case, just in case. While this
is going on, we see that f and Vanessa kind
of do bond over Fisk, making Luca pey. So fis

(40:04):
kind of going back into his old self. That's where
we see not fitting into his suits. But it is
Fist kind of being out of, out of out of water,
not really knowing what's going out of his element because
he does have a charity dinner and we think, you know,
Fish's gonna own this and get money from everybody, kind
of threatening him with power to degree like he did
with Police Commissioner. But it's actually the wealthy people are

(40:27):
doing to Fisk because they know money runs the city
in that they can buy votes, they can buy phone calls,
they can buy whatever they want. But we do get
the reappearance of Swordsman aka Kate Bishops stepdad Mom's boyfriend.
I thought was really cool. The same actor once again.
I don't think as good as use of Khan in
the episode five, but cool just to see him in there.
Hell yeah, they lived in New York City. They should

(40:49):
be at these wealthy as dinners because they were wealthy
and he's swordsman, so maybe he'll pop up again too,
hopefully not thanks to this anti vigilante task force, which
we'll get to in ad second, because well, Fisk is
at the dinner. We find out that Gandal faining his aid,
tells him he needs to leave the fundraisers see the
new mural, while Cherry tells Matt also about beatings, so

(41:09):
they're both finding out but kind of beyond opposite ends
of Fisk using the police to find Muse and Matt
finding Mused on his own traditionally as Daredevil would. And
this is where Fisk tells the police commissioner that you know,
I'm making a task force all and it's all the
Punisher cops, all the bad cops. They'll get over prayed,
nobody cameras, And eventually Fist does meet with the Punisher

(41:33):
cops and you're like, this is gonna be awkward, but
the storyline does kind of happen with Punisher, so I
won't be surprised. Punisher shows up and deals with these
Punisher cops, and we find out that one of the
cops named Cold North, definitely bears a trekking resemblance to
the person who killed Hector on the staircase. It probably

(41:53):
is him, and we find out that this anti Vigilanti
task force, No it's not like an arrow or in flash,
they can kill people and it'll be interesting to see
that once we get to the you know, we only
have three more episodes, three more weeks of like anti.
This vigil Anti task was kind of not being us
threatening in next week's episode, but being the ones that

(42:15):
are like putting Matt to the task because he's got
to avoid them, but also not kill them because they
texting are cops. It's the whole thing cops with more aggression. Essentially.
We do see that Angela Yala is also looking for
mus in the subway tunnels, and well she finds him
because he incapacitates her and he does take her underground
to his base. Matt does get called from Hector's wife

(42:38):
asking about Angela, and Matt suits up all the while
that Fisk is going down those staircases. That secret layer
Muse unfortunately does inject Angela, which I don't know if
it's just because she's now was not. He's not main character,
secondary character, but it's a character we know going through
that it's without a little more grotesque and like compared

(42:59):
to a Rando getting that last week whenever last week's
episode happened. But eventually we'll just kind of sum up
this part with Daredevil. Matt does show up as Daredevil
running through He kind of camouflages with like metro subway lights,
eventually getting upper hand on Mus. They fight pretty good fight.

(43:20):
Mws can hold his own, so I'll be interest to
see who is under that mask. Maybe we'll get there,
but eventually there to go toe for toe. Muse does
get incapacity because Matt chokes him up and kind of
hangs him over a staircase. But eventually Matt realizes Angela's
heartbeat is fading and close to Dines he drops. Matt

(43:42):
does save angel which is great love. That mus does
get away unfortunately makes sense. He's kind of our bigger
villain this season. To it agree him in the Punisher
task Force or Anti vigil Anti test Force we want
to call them. That. We see also that Fisk goes
to a Secret Layer to deal with Adam. He has
an You're like, oh, he's gonna kill him. No, Fisk says,

(44:03):
if you want to fight, that's here's here's a here's
an axe to equal the odds. Adam tries to use
the axe aka Vanessa's former lover or current lover, I
don't know, and Fist just Molly Waps's ass. And I
thought this was really cool that the fight choreography with
Fist Fight and dared Devil's Fight blended into each other,

(44:23):
and we have the transitions that kind of were doing
the same things. Eventually we see Fist does kind of
beat Adam to a pulp thinking he's killed him. Daredevil
does let mus get away, and it's kind of the
two opposing sides doing the same thing. Fist does drag
Adam back to a cell. Adam's alive, but you see
Fiss really relishing in the fact that you know, like, yeah,

(44:45):
this is where I got my aggression out. I'm back,
this is what I am, and it was nice to
do this. Whereas Matt is not concerned about me, He's
concerned about Angela and saving her, and that's kind of
they are dual side, the flip sides of the same.
And it's interesting to see that economy really paying off.
And it will be interesting to see if the Kingpin

(45:06):
storyline is wrapped this season. I don't think it will
just like what happens in season two, because I think
they've done so well with the two of them that
if you have a different, big, big, big villain like
a Kingpin in season two, it won't be as good
as season one. I think that's what we all kind
of felt like with a Netflix series, that when Kingpin
it was in it, it was great. When it was
the hand it was like and then obviously Defenders and

(45:28):
Punisher and everything like that. But mus gets away for
another day. We see obviously fisks. Like I said, relation
in the fact. We see Daredevil talking to Angela and
he says, you know it's okay, I'm here, I'm here,
and you're like, hell, yeah, Daredevil is here in our
next three episodes, will be in the suit the whole time,
right right, But overall, Daredevil's been killing it. I really

(45:52):
do think this kind of lew us all by surprise.
We all knew like, oh yeah, the first episode be
great and we'll see what happens, will get mcuified, but
it's really been far in all cylinders. As some people
say it's rehashing to Netflix thing, I think that's fine
because those face of the Netflix stuff was on a
different budget, it was on a different Netflix before Netflix
would give you all the money would want in the

(46:12):
world for your series. And I think being a home
in Disney, plus I'm saying, you know, being able to
say that Ford and doing all these grotesque action scenes,
I think give us more character building for the MCU
because you have someone who is willing to do that,
and you have like a Tomaholland Spider Man who is
probably not gonna do that and is you know, very
your levels of darkness and the mc and it's good

(46:34):
to have that because you flesh out characters and see
motivations and all that good stuff. But overall, it's been
killing it. And I'm excited because April's gonna be stacked
because we had the last three episodes of this Last
of Us. Season two kicks off April thirteenth, I believe,
and or season two also April twenty second. We're gonna
three episodes that week, So there you grab Daredevil, Daredevil,

(46:56):
Last of Us, Dear Double Last of Us, all three
episodes and Or all in April. So that's why there's
like no movies coming on April becau it's all gonna
be on the streaming services. Baby, But yeah, let me
know what you think of Darren double board again. Are
you excited for it? Are you still vibing with or
a You're kind of like, I'll wait till the end
and then catch up on anything. I don't think this
is a show. I think this is a show you
want to vibe with week to week because I think

(47:18):
it is well worth the watch. And what do you
think about the Avengers casting overall? I don't think it's
all a casting. I think there's more to come. Those
are your main players right now. There'll be more to come.
There's got there. There wasn't a Guardian's character all too either,
so I think some of those castings will be safe
for Secret Wars Worst Captain Marvel not too It's interesting,
interesting to tell. But let us know if and on

(47:38):
his score pods on the Instagram want to XK go
and give it to you. Kevin will be back. We
will be back Sunday to record for our Monday episode
talking abound, who knows what? Probably getting you ready just
probably see what Kevin thought of this Avengers casting. Our
theories now will be kind of three days after the casting,
news of where we're going all that good stuff and
just getting ready for the summer blockbuster season because it's

(47:59):
gonna be jam once we get to May Moving, Move
and Move and Move, Move Moving movie. But hopefully I'll
get to see you also at Nationals Opening Park. We'll
be at Solo's outposts right there outside home plate of
Nationals Park on tomorrow's Positic podcast recording. Then on Monday,
Oriol's Opening Day will be part of the Orange Tailgate
and Kevin will also be there. I can't say where

(48:20):
Kevin's at because Kevin has to say it, unfortunately, but
we'll be out and about and if you see us,
come hang out with us. Tell us your favorite Avenger.
And that's how I know you listen to this podcast.
You know what I'm saying. But if you do like
listening to this podcast, I know it kind of was
all over the place. It's what happens when you're a
single parent. I'm just kidding. More and More's working right now,
so I'm watching Teddy and your Solo doling up. You

(48:44):
can see the video Versus podcast, watch me struggle and
watch me react to chairs Twitch dot tv or YouTube
