Speaker 1 (00:00):

Now back to Softie and Dick on your Home for
the Huskies and the Kraken Sports Radio ninety three point
three kJ R FM.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Thanks in the hens of Alex Roll.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Don takes a break, steps forward.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Back he goes, the crowdy runs on. The Sounders win
the first game of the first round of the playoffs.
Here you go, here you go, Andy Jackson, how about that?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Uh? Sounders get the shootout win over Houston five to four.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
By the way, up they real quick for the World Series?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Four nothing Yankees right now, bottom of the second fucker
factors starting to hourd.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Oh, dude, I can't even I can't even watch this.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Just how nervous I would be if I were a
Mariner fan and they were this type of fricker game.
I wonder if our next guest is watching the World Series? Brian,
are you watching the World Series right now?

Speaker 4 (00:57):
I've been keeping track. I mean the thing I fans
that were kind to steal a guy's glove and ball.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
I thought, Yeah, what's the craziest thing you ever saw
a fan try and do at one of your games?

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Is there anything that stands out you remember anything.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
No, just I mean, I'm flooded with bad memories of
Portland fans giving us the bird and you know the
hand which is at zig one time they were chucking
stuff at our bus. But you know, nothing crazy like
that during the real game.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Sandwichers, that's actually fun. Hey, thanks, that's one of those
we appreciate that. It's a nice Turkey Swiss sandwich here,
all right.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
The first ever penalty shootout win at Lowman in the
MLS era for the Sounders.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
That's incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
How about that on Monday night when your head hit
the pillow. Monday night, you went back home with the
wife and you opened up a bottle of veno.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
What'd you think about the performance on Monday?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Well? I loved it because, yeah, there was that little
bit of subtle pressure I would say about, you know,
going to PK's But I'm telling you, okay, look, everybody's
making a lot of Christian's goal, you know, the fourth
penalty and Alex coming to clean up the Roldan brothers.
Jackson was good, but I mean Raoul that first, you know,

(02:10):
Chip when he chipped the goalkeeper there for his penalty kick.
The Panenka, that kind of messed with the goalkeeper's mind.
I mean that messed with Clark's head. He wasn't even
close to any of the other balls.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Well, you mentioned Christian shot.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
I don't think an octopus could have stopped that. I mean,
I don't know if there's anything called a golazzo from
a penalty kick. But that was about as special as
it gets, though, wasn't it.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
That was sheer cloth power. He knew what he wanted
to do and he just stepped up there and hit
it as hard as he could in the yuper V
and that was Dick. That was a great peak in Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Well, Brian Smetzer's with US.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Jordan Morris came off early in the second obviously, let
me just ask you flat out, do you expect him
to play this weekend?

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Well, normally I would be coy and you try and
go back and forth. But since you're such a nice
guy and I actually have good news. His RI results
came back and there's no significant, significant injury in his hamstring.
He obviously came out because he felt some tightness. I'm

(03:18):
probably not gonna play him softy, just out of precaution. Wow,
But he'll be ready for the third game if we
need it, and he'll be ready for the remainder of
the playoffs if we can get through.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Okay, so wait a minute, so you're probably not gonna
play him just out of precaution. How what would you
need to see between now and Sunday? Because you could
wrap this up on Sunday, Like we're sitting here watching
the World Series thinking, hey man, maybe the Yankees win,
they forced a game five, they give us some extra baseball.
You gotta be careful what you wish for. You want
to end this thing as soon as possible. So is

(03:50):
it possible that you could see something with him that
would have you change your mind by Sunday?

Speaker 3 (03:55):
And what is that?

Speaker 4 (03:57):
If it was a miracle of Halloween miracle and he
got up one day and you know, just said, hey, coach,
you know what, I feel great, and we give him
a test on the field and he passes any sort
of physical testing, then yeah, sure, I'm not gonna I'm
not gonna, you know, say no. But at the end
of the day, you know, look, Raoul's been training, training well,

(04:19):
and you know, I'm confident in the squad. That's it's
it's it's a good team and we're gonna we're gonna
go to Houston, not just to play the game.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
Softy, Well, let's talk about Raoul then, How does that
change what you do offensively?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
He's certainly a different player than Jordan.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Yeah. Just look, he's not going to stretch the field
like Jordan does. So you know that's why I brought
on when I when I brought Raoul on. You know,
it was unfortunate I took day la Vega off. But
we're going to try and play with two wingers. You know,
get guys out wide that can get up and down
the field in a hurry, and try and get good
service to Raoul because inside the box he's a killer.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Brian Spetzer's with us here on the radio show Sounders
Dynamo on Sunday. Would you say Jackson three o'clock pregame?
Is that correct? Over on nine to fifty am on
Sunday afternoon. Jackson's going, by the way, he's making the
trip down there, So make sure you sailor to Jackson.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Is he flying on the team jet on the way back,
but not on the way too. I'm flying Saturday.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Can he fly with you down there? Is that cool?

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Well? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Well did you did you give him your jacket last
time he was on your plane?

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Well? Did we win? I can't remember? You bet a
better memory. Did we win when he went down on
the plane?

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yes to the LA Galaxy game when you gave me
your jacket?

Speaker 3 (05:36):
We beat the Galaxy on the road last year. Put
his ass on the plane? What are you doing?

Speaker 4 (05:41):
Man?

Speaker 2 (05:43):
I never want Jordan Morris? How was that you gotta
get Jackson's ass on your flight? Coco Karraskia right, Houston?
Did I pronounce his name right?

Speaker 3 (05:51):
By the way? Excuse you? Thank you?

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Ejected during game one? He's out for game two. How
does that change kind of what you do? And how
do you think it changes what they do?

Speaker 4 (06:03):
Well, it doesn't really look they're going to change a
little bit because look, he's a tremendous player. He did
something stupid, but he's a tremendous player. And I just
think that they are who they are. They're a possession
based team. Look, they struggle to score goals consistently, but
they're good defensively. You know. It's it's kind of similar

(06:23):
to us. I mean, we've been very good defensively at times,
we struggle to score goals. So it's going to come
down one of those games where you know, any team
makes a mistake. I mean, we'll be happily jump on
a mistake there. We don't want to make any bad
errors at the back. But it's going to be a
tight game. And so they're going to miss him, but
they've got a good they've got some players coming off

(06:44):
the bench.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Well, you took Ezekiel Ponse and you just shut him
down in game number one. So how do you repeat
that knowing that Houston's going to make some adjustments with him.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Well, I think where they're going to make the adjustments.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Dick, is they'll press us.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Higher up the field. I mean they tried to press
us at home, but I thought we got out. I
thought our playing out from the back, our goal kicks.
I thought we were pretty successful there. But we're expecting
them to come out at us. I mean that must
win game for them, you know. So we'll be prepared
for that eventuality, and you know, we'll just see if

(07:20):
we can make some plays.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
All right, man, go get him on Sunday. Keep an
eye out for Jackson.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
We're talking a week all right, all right, take care guys.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
All right, man Brian Schmetcher with US on the radio show,
says he's likely going to sit Jordan Morris for the
game on Sunday, even though the MRI came back today
with no real structural damage, so good news there, but
likely still out for the game on Sunday.
