Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now Doctor Softie and Dig powered by Emerald Queen Casino,
the Betty and Capital of the Northwest, on Sports Radio
ninety three point three JR F.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
That's the segment you've all been waiting for. I don't
know anybody who didn't wake up today and say, God,
I need a couple of dick picks on the air.
Wow for the US Open and Oakmont where they're already
bitching and moaning, complaining about the rough by the way,
Phil Mickelson can't handle it. Rory, Rory is going to
be insufferable this weekend if he even makes it to Saturday.
(00:30):
Will that's stun you If he didn't make the.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Cut, No, I think it's not a bad bet. As
the way I've watched him play since he won the Masters.
He doesn't look like he can handle this. It's in
his head for sure.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
The Major Golf Challenge US Open Edition got a couple
more hours to enter that before the US Open starts tomorrow.
Big thanks to the Pacific Northwest Golf Academy, Gamble Sands,
Boeing Classic and more. Jump on the website ninety three
to three KJR dot com enter to win some fabulous,
fabulous prizes. All right, So give us some long shots,
give us a couple of top tens, maybe a couple
(01:01):
of winners. What do you got?
Speaker 1 (01:03):
All right, we'll start with the winners. I am not
going to take Scotty Scheffler for a couple different reasons. One,
the number is stupid plus two seventy five to win
a major championship. I'm not touching that unless his name
is Tiger Woods and he's not Tiger Woods. He's the
second best to Tiger Woods in the last generation, but
he's not Tiger Woods, right. The second reason is Scotty
(01:24):
Scheffler thrives on how close his approach is to the hole,
and that comes out of both the fairway and the
normal rof he plays, right, this is not normal rough.
Scotty's been missing some fairways recently, but he can still
stick it to eight feet on a normal golf course
from the rough. He is not going to be able
to stick it to eight feet from the rough here,
(01:46):
so that nullifies his superpower. So I like Bryson D.
Chambeau at plus eight hundred, and I like Jon Ram
at plus twelve hundred. Those are my two picks at
the top of the board. Win to win beyond that
to the next level of guys Sepstraca, Shane Lowry, similar
type players, not very long, but we'll keep it in
(02:09):
the fairway. Have to win, right, Yes, how you win
this tournament is keeping it in the fairway, hitting to
the middle of the green, two putting, and get out
with a par. And that's not how you win normal
golf tournaments. You win normal golf tournaments by making a
ton of birdies, and a ton of birdies aren't gonna
happen here. So I'm taking guys that don't necessarily make
a ton of birdies birdies like Shane Lowry. Corey Conners
(02:29):
next on my list, Canadian, same as he's the same
as similar type player as Shane. He's about as straight
a driver as there is on the tour. He is
gonna keep it in the fairway, and that's what you
have to do. You got to keep it out of
that five inch thick rough. Tommy Fleetwood another guy with
a similar skill set. He never wins, So give me,
give me a top. I'm getting plus money on a
top twenty. So there's my safety net play. I'm not
(02:50):
gonna call it my free money play like I did
in the Masters, but I'll call it my safety net
play with Tommy Fleetwood, and then we're gonna go down
to more of the longer shots. Harris English three top
tens in his last five US Opens, and he's playing
better now than he's played in any of those. Going in.
Give me a top five at twelve hundred, okay, and
(03:12):
a top ten at plus five hundred. Right for Harris English.
Seewau Kim hits his fairways, doesn't three putt. That's the
magic juice to this one. He's plus one ten, he's
one ten to one to win. I don't hate that.
That's my longest of long shots, plus eleven thousand to win,
(03:34):
and he's plus two fifty for a top twenty. This
is a guy that has competed very favorably in majors.
He's very, very talented. Those are my guys that I
like the best. A couple other guys I didn't mention,
but I would love for a top ten. Can't lay
a Neeman. Neeman's been the greatest player on lives. He's
(03:55):
been beating Bryson, Beaten Ram on live. Now doesn't that translate?
It translated pretty well in the TG Championship one night
when he got his first top twenty in a major.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
So Bryson and Rom to win, step Lowry, Cory Connors,
Tommy Fleetwood to win, Harris English top five and top
ten Seawoo Kim, Seawoo Kim maybe win the US Open
to win at plus eleven thousand, that'd be taste. And
then Patrick Cantley and Joaquin Neeman top ten. Those are
your Dix picks for the US Yes. Thanks.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
By the way, I had a lesson with Alex today
from the PNW Golf Academy. Absolutely fantastic. I mean it
does not take him long to improve my game. There's
a lot to improve, but it doesn't take him long. Well,
jump on the course and report back how you do.
We'll see that'll happen in six months. Because you play
once every six months, for crying out loud, you're always
watching your kid versus getting your old bones on the
(04:46):
golf course.
