I'm a little bit jealous. I was just in Madison
a few weeks ago to watch the buck guys against
the Badgers, and it is I had I had been
to Wisconsin before a couple of times. I called the game,
but I was kind of in and out, heavy work trip.
But I was working this trip. But Madison's got to

be one of my favorite college towns that are out there.
So I hope you guys are enjoining it. The Wisconsin
fans are great. They're very, you know, like friendly before
the game, and you know they want to turn on
you during the game like all great rivalry games, and
just they're a great fan base.

So I'm jealous you guys are there.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it and never been here.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Just crossing it off the Big ten list obviously, But Danny,
why don't we just start there? Because this is a
Badger football team that is, for lack of a better word,
horrible offensively. They've scored one touchdown in their last thirty drives.
People want Luke Fickle fired. The ad has come out
and said like, we're not gonna judge them just based
on wins and losses, to which the Badger Faithful saying,

what the hell are you talking about?

So the atmosphere out here, at least for the football
team is very toxic. What should I be concerned about
tomorrow though? If I'm a Husky fan, if anything at all?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I mean, it's a dangerous game, right, you know, I'm
actually surprised the points spread's not a little bit bigger
because Washington is such a good football team and Wisconsin
is not. Like I mean, you mentioned toxic. That's the
perfect word to describe it, right, I mean I heard
those fans yelling fire throughout the game.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Every fan I talked to there.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Was like, he's got to go, and I've got an
a flect director back in him, which I you know,
it's probably the right thing to do to try to
give him some some reinforcements and give them some money
to back him.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
But here's where it's tricky. The weather is dicey when
we saw.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Them play with Oregon last week, pretty tough like, and
that the weather can definitely slow down an offense with
as much firepower as Washington has, so that could be
an issue. And you just got to make sure you're
handling your business and are careful with the football. If
the Huskies do that, they'll be fine. And like, you
don't know what you're gonna get from a quarterback because

they've played so many different quarterbacks that the Wisconsin Badgers have.
They've had guys get hurt, Like which one are you
gonna get? They're all a little bit different. Some of
them provide a little bit more mobility. It's just sort
of a scary spot where you're supposed to win. And like,
I don't know how the players feel about Luke Pickle.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Maybe they're relieved that they.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Know they're gonna have Luke Pickle, so they kind of
play inspired. I don't know the culture and that locker room,
but it's just sort of a dangerous spot because.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
You really don't know what you're going to get.

That defense, I do think is capable of making plays,
and you just can't give up the big plays for
the offense.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
Danny, This Husky team's been pretty predictable this year, taking
care of business in the game they're supposed to. They
play with Ohio State for three quarters, they play with
Michigan for three quarters, but in the end, it really
wasn't that close in the end. So what do you
make of this team? How legit are they in the
march to a potential CFP spot.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
I mean, they're very much in the thick of things,
and for whatever reason, they were not getting the attention
that I thought they deserved, you know, and I know
a lot of people that were pounding the table saying,
why isn't this team ranked?
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Because you had to have a three loss was But
I think they deserve the credit.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
But at some point they have to step up and
win one of these games, which is most likely going
to come down to the last game of the season
right against Oregon, which probably could be at play game
for the playoffs for the Huskies, like.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
If they do run the table and they're ten and two.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
The Michigan loss was sort of sideways and DeMont Williams
had all those turnovers which killed them. But I thought
they played Ohio State as good as anybody on the season,
and they were right there. As you mentioned, they tried
to blitz on one of those plays in the third quarter,
gave up the Jeremiah Smith touchdown, and then it kind
of gets away from them. So I think they're exactly
where they need to be. And most importantly, like the

thing about college football, this was Ohio State last year.
They were a two lost team, you know, in the
regular season, didn't play in the Big Ten championship game.
But they peaked at the right time. That's why I
think Washington is a little bit scary. They've been getting
better all year. They do have some weapons, and they
got a dynamic quarterback. So I think everything is right
in front of the Huskies.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Yeah, well, Danny Canal's with us, and Danny, let me
just get a thought with what's happening off the field
with Jetfish there's just all these reports people speculating that
Jetfish may have interest in the UCLA job, and most
of them revolve around his wife not liking it in Seattle.

Okay, So look, I mean there's.

There's a there's a ton of activity on social message boards,
you know, uh, brewing online, Husky's online.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Whatever.

Does Jetfish going to u c l A from a
college football career perspective make sense in your opinion?

No, because I think he can win at Washington, right,
I mean, I think you have better resources at Washington.
UCLA is a place that is pretty cast shrapped, that
does not have a great nil resource program, like.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
They just have not invested in it. And I do
think this is one. Now, it does make me nervous
if those reports are true. We all know how powerful,
you know, a wife can be.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
And I mean I just I talked to Rhet Lashley earlier,
the head coach at SMU, and he was saying how
important it was for his wife.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
Wanted to stay in Dallas, and he had opportunities.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Probably to go to Arkansas or even Auburn, but he
decided to stay at SMU. So I get that's a
very real you know aspect of things. We sometimes overlook
what family means. And you know, happy wife, happy life
is very real. But I don't know how real that
is for Jetfish. But I will say there has been
a trend. We saw Kirk Signetti stay at Indiana, We

saw Matt Ruhle stay at Nebraska, we saw Rhet Lashley
stay at SMU. I do think there are some coaches
that are realizing, you know what, if I've got a
pretty good thing going, why would I risk it to
go somewhere else where I could be right back on
that hot seat three or four years and have to move.

And I bet that's a real conversation with Jetfish because
you look at his resume, look at how many times
he's moved, and if he can wait in Seattle, he
could be set up there for a while, like where
you could have a successful, like consistent.

Life where you don't have to move around.

But again, I don't know what it's like on the
personal home front, how much that comes into play.

But I think UCLA is really a tough place to
win right now, Danny.

How tough a place to win is Washington. We've had
that debate on show before and what should be the
expectation of Husky fans on how frequently this team makes
the college football playoffs. I mean, eventually he's gonna go
to sixteen teams, so I mean, how how frequently should
this program be in the playoffs?
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Probably about what they've been doing, right, I mean they've
made the four team top twice, right, and like over
the period of ten twelve years. So I think you're
in that in that space where you can compete. You've
already proven that, so you can recruit players there. It's
an attractive spot. Yes, it's hard to get players to
come up to the corner of the country, but Seattle's
(07:36):
a great city, it's a great campus. You've got a
great stadium with a home crowd, with a passionate fan base.
So I do think you've proven you can get to
the playoffs in a twelve team playoff. Maybe you should
be doing it every more, like every four or five years.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
So I think that's the reality. And then I mean
they were.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
In the National Championship Games a couple of years ago, Like,
they absolutely are places that can win.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
And again, I think that's something jeded.

Fish should consider because when was the last time UCLA
was competitive.

It's been quite some time, you know, so.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
I think that absolutely makes Washington an attractive spot.

given six and a half. Number one, curious to know
how you think that game is gonna go. And then
number two, if you're a Husky fan, are you doing
the unthinkable rooting for Oregon to win out so they
can make that game at the end of November even
more meaningful?
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yeah, I think yes, I think yes, and yes, like
I think you do want Oregon to win that game
so that it can be the best resume builder for
you and then you really do have a chance to
control your destiny. And that means, Shoot, if you're a
Big ten fan, you're probably rooting that because I think Oregon,
if their only second loss is to Washington, I think
they're probably still in the playoffs as well. And this weekend,
(09:00):
I know people are kind of down on Oregon and
they're saying, well, you know, and the committee was down
on Oregon. They ranked them lower than the AP and
they're looking at that Penn State win and overtime and saying,
well that maybe that's not impressive as we thought. And
they're coming off the game against Wisconsin where the only
one twenty one to seven. Man, I think the Ducks
are gonna be able to get it done in Iowa.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
It's a tough place to play.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Another place they'll be weather, But I just I think
Iowa was a good football team. But I still think
Oregon has some athletes, and they got a really talented quarterback.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
And if you go back because they're you know, like
if you go back.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
And look, they're lost to Indiana, datte mor didn't play
great and then all of a sudden they went to
Rutgers and they put up seven hundred and fifty yards
of total offense, like seven hundred and fifty and then
everybody kind of forgets about that. And Rutgers is not
an awful team and they put up seven hundred and
fifty yards.

I think they'll be able to get it done.

I'm actually liking the Ducks laying the six and a half.
I do think they win and I think if you're
watching it fan, I think you should be rooting for that,
all right.

from the Big twelve.

BYU's Texas Tech Top ten matchup? I read today where
Texas Tech actually paid seven million dollars just for their
defensive line this offseason.

I mean, welcome to the world of college football.

And it must be nice to have a former player
who is a billionaire several times over, who wants to
make your program relevant, right, I mean, that's what they've gotten,
Cody Campbell, who is their biggest backer. And it wasn't
only the defensive line, it was all across the roster,
and they got guys like David Bailey from Stanford, Romelo
(10:43):
Height from Georgia Tech. And it has paid off dividends.
But I actually I've been riding BYU for a few
weeks as an underdog. Nobody believes in them, nobody thinks
they can do it, and especially since it's a double
digit spread, like if it was nine to nine and
a half where it was earlier in the week, I'm
think about laying them with Texas Tech.

They're really good.

Baron Morton is healthy, but also LJ. Martin, the running
back for BYU, is healthy now too. And they've got
a freshman, true freshman quarterback in Baron Bauckmeyer.

Who's almost so fun to watch. He's like naive.

I don't even know if he realizes what he's doing,
how special it is.

He's eight to O is a true He's eight no as.

A true freshman, the first time it's been done since
Trevor Lawrence did it at Clemson in twenty eighteen. So
I think this is a pretty good spot. I know
it's on the road. Louvick is gonna be rocking. I
do think Texas will win, but I think ten and
a half ten points is too many.

your thoughts on this LSU Alabama game. Does LSU play
better now that Brian Kelly is out? And does this
feel like maybe a bit of a trap game for
Kailin de boor.

So Man. This weekend is the weekend of what could
have been?
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Right, This Lsubama game historically has always been so fat
and you felt like it could have sec implications. Clemson,
Florida State, what could have been? Indiana, Penn State, what
could have been? I want so LSU. There is the
thought that you've got fired coach to get the interim
coach bump right.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Like everybody's excited.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
It didn't seem like anybody liked Brian Kelly. Here's the
only issue their offense. There's really nothing you can do
their offensive line. You can't fire them, you know, like,
so they don't have opportunities to get replacements there. Maybe
they sprinkle in of Michael van Buren, their backup quarterback,
to provide a mobile.

Quarterback outside of Garrett Usmayer.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
But I just look at Bama and I think this
is a game, especially since it's at Bryant Denny if
it wasn't Baton Marue's baby. But I do think Alabama
should be able to win and cover that game. I
just don't think LSU has what it takes on the
offensive side of the ball. Their defense is going to
be aggressive. I do think they're going to try to
blitz style Simpson, but he has been outstanding in pressure

and he's got a couple great I mean, do you
guys know Jeremy Bernard how good he is. He's got
great weapons on the outside, he's been finding him.

I do think Alabama wins.

I think there's an easy answer to how many legit
national championship teams are in the Big Ten. It's probably
stops it two. But what's the answer in the SEC?
How many legitimate top national championship teams are there in
that conference?

So the only thing I would push back because I
agree with you likeho Ohio State and Indiana look a
cut above.

Think there is something to the parody in college football
that we're seeing in the SEC and the Big twelve
in the ACC where the Big Ten is a little
bit top heavy, and the way the schedules have unfolded.
Ohio State and Indiana have not been tested that much. Now,
Indiana did pass that test in Oregon with flying colors,
but I still think Oregon, like last year we saw

Oregon beat Ohio State and then get completely boat raced
in the.

Rose Bowl, Like, where did that come from?
Speaker 3 (14:09):
I think this thing is still pretty wide open, and
I think that does include the SEC. I think Texas
A and M clearly as the top dog, is a
national championship contender. I think Alabama is another one that's
a championship contender. I would not sleep on Georgia and
Ole Miss either. So I think there's still eight to
ten teams that I would look at across college football

that could go on a run, like a hot run.

If they get hot at the right time, I think
they could win the national title. So I would say
three or four.

a mutual friend and a guy named Petros Popko show.

Barry team that could get in the playoffs. I think
that's the best solution. But I have heard some of
these rumblings about LSU. And if you remember, before he
went to USC, there was like a lot of people

thought he was going to go to LSU, and that
was the question he kept getting, Are you going to
go to LSU?

And he stood up at the podium.

And he's like, I Am not going to LSU, And
every Oklahoma fan was like breathing a sigh relief, thinking, oh,
thank goodness, he's not to leave, and then all of
a sudden he shot the world and left to go
to USC. So I do think there's some smoke there
that maybe if he looks at it and says and
if it doesn't, maybe it's nine to three and they
missed the playoffs, or you know, worst.

Case, they finished eight and four. I do think Lincoln
Riley's somebody who.

Might entertain go into a place that already courted him
once and has great resources, and he potentially could win,
and he might say, you know what, before this gets
worse in La, let me take a shot at bat
Rue kind of reset the clock, get some more guaranteed
money because LSU will throw a big bag at him.
I don't think that is that crazy to think.

Riggan who eisl was on with this yesterday Danny, and
he says that Lane Kiffin's gonna stay at Old Miss
in his opinion?

Yeah, I mean Lane Kiffin is the honest thing. I mean,
he's like off the charts, like it's just everybody.

And I will say this, I agree with Rick who's

I do think Lane kiffen stays I believe him when
I watch him, and he says, and I mean, I

did on him, like the Life of Lane Kiffin, and
he's talked about how much how much he's grown and
he's matured and how happy he is in Oxford and

his daughter's with him at school there, and like his
family's there.

At the same time, I also have heard him say
he idolized Steve Spurrier and that's why he wears Advisor.
And I do think he's somebody who has not been

think he's a really, really tough person to get a
beat on. But if I was a betting man and

I was putting money on it, I would say, yes,
I do think he stays at Oxford. But at the
same time, I wouldn't put a lot of money on
it because anything would not like I would not be
surprised by anything that Lane Kiffin does.

a little bit when you said that Lane Kiffin idolized
Steve Spurrier and that's why he wears the visor. You
know who else wears the visor because he idolized Steve

and said like, we're not gonna judge them just based
on wins and losses, to which the Badger Faithful saying,

So the atmosphere out here, at least for the football
team is very toxic. What should I be concerned about
tomorrow though? If I'm a Husky fan, if anything at all?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I mean, it's a dangerous game, right, you know, I'm
actually surprised the points spread's not a little bit bigger
because Washington is such a good football team and Wisconsin
is not. Like I mean, you mentioned toxic. That's the
perfect word to describe it, right, I mean I heard
those fans yelling fire throughout the game.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Every fan I talked to there.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Was like, he's got to go, and I've got an
a flect director back in him, which I you know,
it's probably the right thing to do to try to
give him some some reinforcements and give them some money
to back him.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
But here's where it's tricky. The weather is dicey when
we saw.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Them play with Oregon last week, pretty tough like, and
that the weather can definitely slow down an offense with
as much firepower as Washington has, so that could be
an issue. And you just got to make sure you're
handling your business and are careful with the football. If
the Huskies do that, they'll be fine. And like, you
don't know what you're gonna get from a quarterback because
(02:37):
they've played so many different quarterbacks that the Wisconsin Badgers have.
They've had guys get hurt, Like which one are you
gonna get? They're all a little bit different. Some of
them provide a little bit more mobility. It's just sort
of a scary spot where you're supposed to win. And like,
I don't know how the players feel about Luke Pickle.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Maybe they're relieved that they.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Know they're gonna have Luke Pickle, so they kind of
play inspired. I don't know the culture and that locker room,
but it's just sort of a dangerous spot because.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
You really don't know what you're going to get.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
That defense, I do think is capable of making plays,
and you just can't give up the big plays for
the offense.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
Danny, This Husky team's been pretty predictable this year, taking
care of business in the game they're supposed to. They
play with Ohio State for three quarters, they play with
Michigan for three quarters, but in the end, it really
wasn't that close in the end. So what do you
make of this team? How legit are they in the
march to a potential CFP spot.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
I mean, they're very much in the thick of things,
and for whatever reason, they were not getting the attention
that I thought they deserved, you know, and I know
a lot of people that were pounding the table saying,
why isn't this team ranked?
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Because you had to have a three loss was But
I think they deserve the credit.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
But at some point they have to step up and
win one of these games, which is most likely going
to come down to the last game of the season
right against Oregon, which probably could be at play game
for the playoffs for the Huskies, like.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
If they do run the table and they're ten and two.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
The Michigan loss was sort of sideways and DeMont Williams
had all those turnovers which killed them. But I thought
they played Ohio State as good as anybody on the season,
and they were right there. As you mentioned, they tried
to blitz on one of those plays in the third quarter,
gave up the Jeremiah Smith touchdown, and then it kind
of gets away from them. So I think they're exactly
where they need to be. And most importantly, like the
(04:27):
thing about college football, this was Ohio State last year.
They were a two lost team, you know, in the
regular season, didn't play in the Big Ten championship game.
But they peaked at the right time. That's why I
think Washington is a little bit scary. They've been getting
better all year. They do have some weapons, and they
got a dynamic quarterback. So I think everything is right
in front of the Huskies.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Yeah, well, Danny Canal's with us, and Danny, let me
just get a thought with what's happening off the field
with Jetfish there's just all these reports people speculating that
Jetfish may have interest in the UCLA job, and most
of them revolve around his wife not liking it in Seattle.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Okay, So look, I mean there's.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
There's a there's a ton of activity on social message boards,
you know, uh, brewing online, Husky's online.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Whatever.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Does Jetfish going to u c l A from a
college football career perspective make sense in your opinion?
Speaker 3 (05:21):
No, because I think he can win at Washington, right,
I mean, I think you have better resources at Washington.
UCLA is a place that is pretty cast shrapped, that
does not have a great nil resource program, like.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
They just have not invested in it. And I do
think this is one. Now, it does make me nervous
if those reports are true. We all know how powerful,
you know, a wife can be.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
And I mean I just I talked to Rhet Lashley earlier,
the head coach at SMU, and he was saying how
important it was for his wife.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
Wanted to stay in Dallas, and he had opportunities.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Probably to go to Arkansas or even Auburn, but he
decided to stay at SMU. So I get that's a
very real you know aspect of things. We sometimes overlook
what family means. And you know, happy wife, happy life
is very real. But I don't know how real that
is for Jetfish. But I will say there has been
a trend. We saw Kirk Signetti stay at Indiana, We
(06:13):
saw Matt Ruhle stay at Nebraska, we saw Rhet Lashley
stay at SMU. I do think there are some coaches
that are realizing, you know what, if I've got a
pretty good thing going, why would I risk it to
go somewhere else where I could be right back on
that hot seat three or four years and have to move.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
My family again.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
And I bet that's a real conversation with Jetfish because
you look at his resume, look at how many times
he's moved, and if he can wait in Seattle, he
could be set up there for a while, like where
you could have a successful, like consistent.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Life where you don't have to move around.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
But again, I don't know what it's like on the
personal home front, how much that comes into play.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
But I think UCLA is really a tough place to
win right now, Danny.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
How tough a place to win is Washington. We've had
that debate on show before and what should be the
expectation of Husky fans on how frequently this team makes
the college football playoffs. I mean, eventually he's gonna go
to sixteen teams, so I mean, how how frequently should
this program be in the playoffs?
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Probably about what they've been doing, right, I mean they've
made the four team top twice, right, and like over
the period of ten twelve years. So I think you're
in that in that space where you can compete. You've
already proven that, so you can recruit players there. It's
an attractive spot. Yes, it's hard to get players to
come up to the corner of the country, but Seattle's
(07:36):
a great city, it's a great campus. You've got a
great stadium with a home crowd, with a passionate fan base.
So I do think you've proven you can get to
the playoffs in a twelve team playoff. Maybe you should
be doing it every more, like every four or five years.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
So I think that's the reality. And then I mean
they were.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
In the National Championship Games a couple of years ago, Like,
they absolutely are places that can win.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
And again, I think that's something jeded.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Fish should consider because when was the last time UCLA
was competitive.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
It's been quite some time, you know, so.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
I think that absolutely makes Washington an attractive spot.
Speaker 1 (08:08):

We got Oregon at Iowa tomorrow and the Ducks are
given six and a half. Number one, curious to know
how you think that game is gonna go. And then
number two, if you're a Husky fan, are you doing
the unthinkable rooting for Oregon to win out so they
can make that game at the end of November even
more meaningful?
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yeah, I think yes, I think yes, and yes, like
I think you do want Oregon to win that game
so that it can be the best resume builder for
you and then you really do have a chance to
control your destiny. And that means, Shoot, if you're a
Big ten fan, you're probably rooting that because I think Oregon,
if their only second loss is to Washington, I think
they're probably still in the playoffs as well. And this weekend,
(09:00):
I know people are kind of down on Oregon and
they're saying, well, you know, and the committee was down
on Oregon. They ranked them lower than the AP and
they're looking at that Penn State win and overtime and saying,
well that maybe that's not impressive as we thought. And
they're coming off the game against Wisconsin where the only
one twenty one to seven. Man, I think the Ducks
are gonna be able to get it done in Iowa.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
It's a tough place to play.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Another place they'll be weather, But I just I think
Iowa was a good football team. But I still think
Oregon has some athletes, and they got a really talented quarterback.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
And if you go back because they're you know, like
if you go back.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
And look, they're lost to Indiana, datte mor didn't play
great and then all of a sudden they went to
Rutgers and they put up seven hundred and fifty yards
of total offense, like seven hundred and fifty and then
everybody kind of forgets about that. And Rutgers is not
an awful team and they put up seven hundred and
fifty yards.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
I think they'll be able to get it done.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
I'm actually liking the Ducks laying the six and a half.
I do think they win and I think if you're
watching it fan, I think you should be rooting for that,
all right.

BYU's Texas Tech Top ten matchup? I read today where
Texas Tech actually paid seven million dollars just for their

I mean, welcome to the world of college football.

And it must be nice to have a former player
who is a billionaire several times over, who wants to
make your program relevant, right, I mean, that's what they've gotten,
Cody Campbell, who is their biggest backer. And it wasn't
only the defensive line, it was all across the roster,
and they got guys like David Bailey from Stanford, Romelo
(10:43):
Height from Georgia Tech. And it has paid off dividends.
But I actually I've been riding BYU for a few
weeks as an underdog. Nobody believes in them, nobody thinks
they can do it, and especially since it's a double
digit spread, like if it was nine to nine and
a half where it was earlier in the week, I'm
think about laying them with Texas Tech.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
They're really good.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Baron Morton is healthy, but also LJ. Martin, the running
back for BYU, is healthy now too. And they've got
a freshman, true freshman quarterback in Baron Bauckmeyer.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Who's almost so fun to watch. He's like naive.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
I don't even know if he realizes what he's doing,
how special it is.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
He's eight to O is a true He's eight no as.

A true freshman, the first time it's been done since
Trevor Lawrence did it at Clemson in twenty eighteen. So
I think this is a pretty good spot. I know
it's on the road. Louvick is gonna be rocking. I
do think Texas will win, but I think ten and
a half ten points is too many.

feel like maybe a bit of a trap game for
Kailin de boor.

So Man. This weekend is the weekend of what could
have been?
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Right, This Lsubama game historically has always been so fat
and you felt like it could have sec implications. Clemson,
Florida State, what could have been? Indiana, Penn State, what
could have been? I want so LSU. There is the
thought that you've got fired coach to get the interim
coach bump right.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Like everybody's excited.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
It didn't seem like anybody liked Brian Kelly. Here's the
only issue their offense. There's really nothing you can do
their offensive line. You can't fire them, you know, like,
so they don't have opportunities to get replacements there. Maybe
they sprinkle in of Michael van Buren, their backup quarterback,
to provide a mobile.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
Quarterback outside of Garrett Usmayer.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
But I just look at Bama and I think this
is a game, especially since it's at Bryant Denny if
it wasn't Baton Marue's baby. But I do think Alabama
should be able to win and cover that game. I
just don't think LSU has what it takes on the
offensive side of the ball. Their defense is going to
be aggressive. I do think they're going to try to
blitz style Simpson, but he has been outstanding in pressure
(13:11):
and he's got a couple great I mean, do you
guys know Jeremy Bernard how good he is. He's got
great weapons on the outside, he's been finding him.
Speaker 4 (13:18):
I do think Alabama wins.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
I think there's an easy answer to how many legit
national championship teams are in the Big Ten. It's probably
stops it two. But what's the answer in the SEC?
How many legitimate top national championship teams are there in
that conference?
Speaker 3 (13:35):
So the only thing I would push back because I
agree with you likeho Ohio State and Indiana look a
cut above.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Yeah, but I do.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Think there is something to the parody in college football
that we're seeing in the SEC and the Big twelve
in the ACC where the Big Ten is a little
bit top heavy, and the way the schedules have unfolded.
Ohio State and Indiana have not been tested that much. Now,
Indiana did pass that test in Oregon with flying colors,
but I still think Oregon, like last year we saw
(14:03):
Oregon beat Ohio State and then get completely boat raced
in the.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Rose Bowl, Like, where did that come from?
Speaker 3 (14:09):
I think this thing is still pretty wide open, and
I think that does include the SEC. I think Texas
A and M clearly as the top dog, is a
national championship contender. I think Alabama is another one that's
a championship contender. I would not sleep on Georgia and
Ole Miss either. So I think there's still eight to
ten teams that I would look at across college football
(14:33):
that could go on a run, like a hot run.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
If they get hot at the right time, I think
they could win the national title. So I would say
three or four.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Well, Danny Caneal's with us, and I think we have
a mutual friend and a guy named Petros Popko show.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
I know you know Petros a.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Little bit okay, And he was on with us for
his weekly hit a couple of days ago, and I
asked him, just does Jen Cohen, our former ad here
at Washington.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Does she want linc Riley to win uh?
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Or does she want leacoln Riley to lose so she
can fire the guy, be done with it and move on.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Winning obviously saves all that money.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
And he said, what what he thinks Jen wants is
for him to leave voluntarily on his own and go
take a different job with a different team. What do
you think really behind the scenes is going on at USC.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
And I think I think she would like him to
win and answer any questions and win out because they're
they have a tough tedle coming up. I still think
Barry team that could get in the playoffs. I think
that's the best solution. But I have heard some of
these rumblings about LSU. And if you remember, before he
went to USC, there was like a lot of people
(15:46):
thought he was going to go to LSU, and that
was the question he kept getting, Are you going to
go to LSU?
Speaker 4 (15:52):
And he stood up at the podium.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
And he's like, I Am not going to LSU, And
every Oklahoma fan was like breathing a sigh relief, thinking, oh,
thank goodness, he's not to leave, and then all of
a sudden he shot the world and left to go
to USC. So I do think there's some smoke there
that maybe if he looks at it and says and
if it doesn't, maybe it's nine to three and they
missed the playoffs, or you know, worst.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Case, they finished eight and four. I do think Lincoln
Riley's somebody who.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
Might entertain go into a place that already courted him
once and has great resources, and he potentially could win,
and he might say, you know what, before this gets
worse in La, let me take a shot at bat
Rue kind of reset the clock, get some more guaranteed
money because LSU will throw a big bag at him.
I don't think that is that crazy to think.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
Riggan who eisl was on with this yesterday Danny, and
he says that Lane Kiffin's gonna stay at Old Miss
in his opinion?
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Do you agree with that?
Speaker 5 (16:45):
And is Lane the number one candidate for the big
jobs out there? Oh?
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Yeah, I mean Lane Kiffin is the honest thing. I mean,
he's like off the charts, like it's just everybody.

Wants Lane Kiffin.

And I will say this, I agree with Rick who's
on the show right after me on Serious XM, like
I do think Lane kiffen stays I believe him when
I watch him, and he says, and I mean, I
don't know if you guys saw the piece that ESPN
did on him, like the Life of Lane Kiffin, and
he's talked about how much how much he's grown and
he's matured and how happy he is in Oxford and

his daughter's with him at school there, and like his
family's there.

I do believe him when he says that.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
At the same time, I also have heard him say
he idolized Steve Spurrier and that's why he wears Advisor.
And I do think he's somebody who has not been
afraid to lead programs before. Right He left Tennessee once
and left them all upset at him. So I just
think he's a really, really tough person to get a
beat on. But if I was a betting man and

I was putting money on it, I would say, yes,
I do think he stays at Oxford. But at the
same time, I wouldn't put a lot of money on
it because anything would not like I would not be
surprised by anything that Lane Kiffin does.

Well, Danny, before you go, I got to chuck all
a little bit when you said that Lane Kiffin idolized
Steve Spurrier and that's why he wears the visor. You
know who else wears the visor because he idolized Steve
Spurrier is jetfish in Seattle, and he's he's admitted that
to us. I mean, dude, how pissed off is Jetfish?
If Lane Kiffin gets the floor to job.

I mean that was the rumblings the last couple of years,
right when last year, when Billy Napier was on that
