Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sam definitely has a haircut, and so it looks good.
I noticed it right away, thank you. So it's definitely shorter.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Yeah, and I know you cut yourself.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
I sure do with a floby. No, do they even
make those?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Is it true that George Clooney is the one that
came up with the floby?

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Oh, I have no idea.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
In his famous fan you know, famousness, he didn't want
to go I'm sorry. He was one of the first
investors in the floby. Maybe that's an urban legend, but
I read that that he he didn't want to have
to go to the barber shop because he was George Clooney.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Well, the same reason I don't want to go to
the barber shop obviously.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
So what do you use it?

Speaker 3 (00:42):
It's a Remington electric razor hair shape. I don't know
what it's called on it. No, it's dozens the cord
plugs it in and it's got eight different attachments, like
you know, so you're sharing your own hair? Is that? Yeah? Really? Okay?
Why didn't know that to me? And cutting in scissors?

Speaker 2 (01:02):
I think we need a video?

Speaker 4 (01:03):
No, no, no, I just thought I mean, for some reason,
I thought you were using some machine that wished away
the hair, you know, and allowed you to conveniently reach
behind you, because you know, cutting your own hair from behind,
I'm assuming is a trick.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Risk is what it is.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
But you you've got it down. I only see one
area where your rights are, your left side. There's a
little bit of spot where it's you. Look, you got
carried away.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Oh up here, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I noticed that.
That's why I'm walking this way today.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Well, the room, that's a talent. That is something you've
had to work out.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
It's been since the beginning of COVID. How many that's
four years now? Yeah? Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
I really think you've got to have a certain confidence
to cut your own hair, seriously, because that is not
something that I could do, nor do I want to
do that, thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
I don't want you to do it either, because you, Joe,
do you want to take a stab at it?

Speaker 4 (01:57):
No way you bring the razor for you? Well, you're
you're fine with no layering. My hair needs layering, and
so you know what I mean. If you just want
to uniform look across the board, you know, I mean,
it works, but the oh you're looking.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
At him knowing that he has no layers. Look at you.
Maybe you do have game.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Oh yeah, I do know that he doesn't have layers
in this game. Rph.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Well he used to get it. Now say'm gonna screw
this up. It's not peaking shears.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
What do they call them? What do they call the
ones that it's I guess they're tapering scissors? What they are? Yeah,
I've seen them, the ones with the little grooves on them. Right,
things up, you know, right?

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yeah, no offence, Murph, My dear Murph. But out of
the two of you, Sam is the one to cut
his own head.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Yeah, I agree. It's not to do it yourself.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Thing for me, if your place in life right now
is that you have a chaotic family life. You have
little kids, they're in and out. I guess they'll be
heading to summer camp or you know, they're dropping their
stuff all over the house. You're constantly tripping on things.
You're in that place in life. Know that that place

(03:01):
in life will leave you. It will pass, and you
don't imagine that you'd miss it, because I mean, I
love a clean space too, believe me. Since our girls
moved out, Murphy, Sometimes when I walk past the guest
bathroom and I'm like, it's so beautiful. I really do
love how beautiful it is while missing them at the
same time, and their noises and all the stuff, all

(03:23):
the stuff I miss it.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah, you miss all the things that go along with
the messes.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Yes. So if you're in that and you just think
I need to take back my home.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
My home is not my own. You will get your
home back. I promise all things change and that will change.
And I had that realization this morning, Murph, when I
realized there's a big box sitting by our front door
on the inside, and I think the dog food came
in it or some pace. It's a very big box,

(03:52):
and I'm like, I'm looking at it, and I'm thinking
ten years ago, five years ago, Phoebe would have made
something out of that box. She'd have popped out of
it when I walked past and scared.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Me to death, or one of the cutest things.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
She was always doing stuff with boxes and such as
a kid's Life. But my favorite thing she ever did
with a box almost this exact same size, which was
a big bag of dog food that if that helps
you place how big it is. She took the tops
off of it and she cut one side open and
opening in one side, and she brought it into her
room and she put blankets in it, and it was

(04:28):
a dog bed for our little pity Stella at that time.
And that box stayed in her room for a month
until I finally months until I finally said feed this
box stinks. But it just made me think that box
is just going to get broken down probably this week.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Yeah, and recycling nod. That's the child's imagination there, and
as it is something so special, you're right to see
something that just seems so mundane and turn it into
something very entertain.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Very child refrigerator four.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Those are great buses for us.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Coming up next to your Hollywood Outsider, a favorite show
gets its final season finally on Netflix.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
The latest buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider, brought to you by
Dairy Queen.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Fans of the show suits on Netflix have a reason
to get excited.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Why don't we go out and celebrate. We're all on
the same boat.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Now, this was a USA show and it was known
because it was a good show. And then Megan Markle
was on it as well, and then she met Harry
as she left the show. Yeah, okay, and so then
it's been on Netflix and it's been a huge hit
for Netflix. All eight seasons has been watched gazillions of times.
But the ninth season was not there and fans were like,

(05:49):
come on, we know there were nine seasons. So finally
they've said, look, July first, you're getting season nine of Suits.
Sorry you had to wait. We don't know why anybody
made them wait, but we're there. But it's there now, Okay, Okay.
We also have that dropped yesterday from the world of
Marvel Venom the Last Dance. The official trailer is here
and yes, Tom Hardy stars as Venom.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Book wee, well, that sounds scary.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
It's a weird Venom's weird because there's a lot of
humor in it. Is there for being gruesome.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
It's a lot of humor, Okay, Yeah, and Tom Hardy
doesn't always bring the humor.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
He brings a lot of scary to what he does.
He's so talented.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Tom Hardy is in the show we're watching on Netflix,
Peaky Blinders.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Guess what super scary? Anyway, check it out. Venom three.
This is the final one in theaters in October.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Coming up next, Sam has Music News got a big
farewell tour to tell you about for another eighties icon.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
Sam's Got Music News.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Brought you by Boot Barn.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Cyndy Lauper has announced her farewell tour. Yeah, losing another
great one.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
It's one aren't losing her, She's just slowing her life
as she has earned.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
The girls just want to have fun. Farewell tour. Okay,
twenty three cities. It's going to kick off in October,
go through December of this year, and tickets will go
on sale this Friday. Nice, I don't know the special
guest jet. They're going to announce that of a later date.
Also for Cindy Lauper. Dropping today on Paramount is that
new bio pick let the Canary Sing.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Everyone always said what will you do if you fail?

Speaker 3 (07:30):
And all of a sudden we all heard it.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
What a special person. She is a special voice.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
And hopefully she's gonna talk about being part of we
Are the World because she was fabulous.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
That's starting today on Paramount Plus Jody, I know you're
going to see Alanis Morris Set. In fact this weekend,
Alanas Moore Set and Jones Jet kick off their tour. Yes, well,
they did a little something special to get ready for
the tour. They commissioned DJ Cumberbund to do a little
mashup of two of theirs I Hate Myself for Loving You.
Well it's actually it's called I Hate Myself for You
ought to know here you go.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Wow, please tell me they're doing it on tour.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
You have to hope. So listen to this part. Yeah,
you have to let us know.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
If they do that perform that'll be the encore hopefully. Okay.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
And also, Morgan Wallin's Bar in Nashville is now open. Yeah.
If you remember, he was supposed to open it on
Memorial Day weekend the week before and because the city council,
the Metro council shut down his outdoor sign the bad
influence and you know, we don't like aim he throws
chairs and all that kind of stuff. Well that's still

(08:49):
that's still in the works, but they decided to go
ahead this past weekend. It's like, just open the door. Yeah,
they know where we are.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Right next to the rhyming and they've made it more
of a rebel bar, therefore making even more of a destination.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
And they had a big line outside.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Of course, they.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
Did coming up with Murphy Salmon.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Joji Jonny has three things to Know Today.

Speaker 5 (09:10):
Three Things to Know Today.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Powered by Doctor Marty Nature's Blend.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Number one, we know that scams are everywhere, but at
this time of the year, lookout for one targeted right
at recent college graduates for jobs. Scams that are looking
at hey, you know you just graduated in this field
lot this. So if you get that coming to you
in your social media feeds and you just graduated, or
it comes to you in an email, double check their references.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Make sure it's coming from a real business email. Never
give out personal financial information, especially they're preying on the
emotion of you in front of job to start your
life exactly. Number two.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Coming up next week, the Southwest will actually bake in.
What we're having is an early heat wave in our country,
the earliest it's ever been this hot in June for
places like Vegas, Phoenix, and Palm Springs. One hundred and
twelve degrees by Wednesday in Vegas. Next week and also
late next week, California is expected to issue warnings for

(10:09):
wildfires in early hot summer. And Number three Madonna. You
know that she's being sued for starting her concerts so late. Yeah,
she's already defending it, and she says look, she wants
to get the cases thrown out because her main defense
seems to be, my real fans know that my shows
start late.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Nonsense, I know, she said.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
She claims the time that's printed on the ticket is
always just a suggestion.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Ah.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
No, you're in the note three things to know today.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
With summer here, you start thinking about all these things
that you know, the way you grew up and did
summer versus the way that you maybe do it now
or other families do summer.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
It's a story that you may not know. Murphy.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
I don't think I've ever told you before, but you know,
we first got married, I was new to beach life
because we didn't go to the beach a lot when
we were growing up.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
And you're red headed and fair skin, and I understand
that we also.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Didn't do very many vacations, so my parents we only
did one a year. Yeah, but you always went to
the beach.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Yes, that's what my parents did.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
So you are a beach a family.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
And so the first year when I showed up to
the beach vacation with Murphy's family, I showed up with
my stuff and a swimsuit. And because when I grew
when I was growing up. You know, you had one
swimsuit in the summertime. It's what your family could afford.
You got one swimsuit. And so I showed up and
I don't know how many sets of swim trunks you

(11:35):
were rocking.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
I don't remember, but usually two.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
I mean I was always told too, because you know,
you're always going to have an accident in one. Oh,
I don't mean you know what I mean something I expected.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
I keep talking. I'm just saying.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Accident and clothes means one thing to me.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
No, maybe I said that, get off the beach and
get in the water.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Well, roll in and after there a couple of days,
your mom has a new swimsuit on every day, your
sister has a new swimsuit on every day, your brother's
ex wife.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Had a new swimsuit on every day. And I'm rocking
the same one every day.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
And it's because you were beach people, and the girls
they just know. It's not like they're rolling in, you know,
no suit.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Or like that. But I mean I rotated too. That's
what I did.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
I thought that's what you did, because one was to
be honest with you, you know, it wasn't an accident.
It's because the other one would not have dried out
in time the next day when you put on a
really cold bathing suit Nikes yees.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Yeah. And I didn't know this. It's just funny to me.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
And I thought of it this weekend because in the
other day, because of kind of getting ready for summer,
I saw you. I was filling up my shampoo bottle,
little travel shampoo bottles and getting excited. And I'll have
you know, you proud, Murphy, that I now have like
four and five six swimsuits.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Okay, all these years in and we don't know.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Not much anymore.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
Coming up with Murphy Salmon Jody.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Jody has three things to know today coming up at
seven fifty.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Coming up next, though, what are junk fees and where
should you look for them this summer while you travel?
You guys know what junk fees are. If you don't know,
we're about to tell you. Okay, Murphy, I bet you know.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
I mean junk fee. Honestly, I think stock market, but
I'm sure that's not what this is. It's probably not
that boring, right, it's.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Probably all the fine print fees they tack onto something
you buy, I think, And this is all.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
It is hidden mandatory fees on your final bill. You
have to pay these things before you check out, and
it's all this you're talking.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Yeah, junk fees.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Can show up anywhere, but they really show up in
in the world of travel. That's why the government's been
going after the airlines about junk fees.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Like they've been going after the airline saying you have.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
To disclose every fee before the ticket is bought, not
you know, after whatever. And so they get creative, especially
during the summertime. We wanted to talk to you about, like,
you know, share some of it. So across the country,
like consumers, you know, travelers are the ones reporting this stuff,
and they're all over the place right now. So there's
a traveler in Los Angeles who was leaving her hotel

(14:06):
and got a thirty dollars per day urban fee. She
asked about it and she had, you know, she had
to say, explain this to me please. The fee covered
her daily newspaper. Her phone calls her free internet, thirty.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
A day, free internet. Yeah, right, that's right.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
I know.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
There's another one a hotel in Chicago. A man whose
name was Robert Krause. He and he was told that
it was a three percent transaction fee. He asked about
it and they said, oh, that's because you a credit
card and we can't wave that fee. Everybody pays for
hotels with credit cards.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Who walks in.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
With a bunch of cash, no one, you know, But
in the in the cres and I've seen more and
more people disclose the credit fee. So you know you're
paying the three percent transactions.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Okay, Well that one was in you know, he reported
that as hidden. Even on restaurant bills, you'll see like
a beef industry.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Fee, what two dollars, like a two dollars search charge.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
And the man asked the restaurant what was what it
was and they said a beef industry fee.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
So junk feee before I start then.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Right, Junk fees are everywhere. How do you protect yourself?
You read the fine print as much as you can
a restaurant. I don't know how you do that, but
you read the fine print and if if someone brings
one to you at the end at your bill, you
let them know how you don't like it. Because if
a business here is repeatedly they don't like this fee
or they you know, someone was surprised by it negatively

(15:33):
likely they're gonna change it up. Junk fees is what
they're called.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (15:42):
The latest Buzz Jody's Hollywood.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Outsider powered by Dairy Queen.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
If you've ever felt like what the world needs right
now is a little more Mister Rogers, here's some good
news for you. Pluto TV is launching a channel dedicated
to mister Rogers neighborhood and that's all. They will ever
play episodes all the time on demand. They have an
on demand option right now at Pluto TV that includes

(16:10):
some of that, but now it's a dedicated, full time channel.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
And this there's plenty for them to choose from.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Because I didn't realize how long this show ran from
nineteen sixty eight to two thousand and one.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Yeah, I mean the channel it would be so you
could relaxing.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
And right you need it, you could put it on
in the background and it might change your life. Now
to find Pluto TV. That's for me, I'm sure that's
not for everyone. We also have some other news about
a show that means a lot to a lot of
families with little ones.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Right now, Blue Ee.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
So Blue is doing many episodes soon minisodes. They're calling
them literal really short episodes, you know, like ten minutes
and eight minutes with Blue and Bingo and their dad
banned it, so they've released some teaser tray.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
You can go find them now.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
But remember the minisodes of Bluie premieres soon July third
on Disney Plus and the Disney Channel.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
Coming up with Murphy Salmon Jodi.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Why Murphy is trying to push one of his books
on college graduates.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
And we love hearing from you.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Join us anytime eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ.
You can also hit us up on Instagram and Facebook.
We have an email that came in from R. Gillis.
I think this is for you, Murphy. I thought one
time I heard you guys talking about a good book
for a young woman. My daughter recently graduated high school
and we'll be and we'll be off to college in

(17:39):
the next few months. What is a must read for
a young woman to help her with her new adulting situation?
Is this that that book that you gave our girls?

Speaker 3 (17:49):
Yeah, it is.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
I remember they made fun of the title. I'm sorry
they did.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
I know what they're used to be having weird books
now this is. I think it's a really good book.
It's called Smart Women Finish writ It's by David Bach,
you know, and it's it's just about empowerment and things
that you know you should yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Smart Money Techniques, which is a really good gesture. I
will say that you gave both of our girls a
copy of that. I know one of them left it
at the house. Really sorry to tell you that.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
You know, it's it's one of those books you know
when you give it that it might not get you.
It's a shame, it's boring. That's why nobody wants to
do it right.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
But its title.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
And Phoebe said, did a dude write this? He said yes,
And a dude gave it to you your dad.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
The other reason I think the book is not working
because they keep asking for money.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Do you ask him every time? Did you read his book?

Speaker 2 (18:43):
Can you find your book? Would be the question?

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Okay, moving on to Frank also emailed this, this is
regarding our Sparky, our dog, Sparky.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Murphy, who is shaking and shaky.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Well, we had him shaved down for the summer and
maybe it was too close of a shave and he
not felt like himself. And he's shaky and stiff. Frank
said this. We have had the same experience when we
had our dog groomed. We had a male dog and
if he groomed him too close, he would act sick
for about a week. He loved the grooming, but I
had to warn the groomer not to get him too close.
So he's basically had too close of a shave and

(19:18):
he feels wonky about it. He can feel how different
we've changed his Life's.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Been two weeks now. He's not back to normal.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Yeah, it's spent a little over a week.

Speaker 4 (19:26):
Well, and he's not eating either. So protesting, Yeah, so
I don't know if this is a protest. I don't
know how long that protest.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
I'm going to give it a few more days before
we say, because I don't want to take him to
the vet and it's like, yeah, you shaved him, duh.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
Keep it coming.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
We like hearing from you anytime. Email us as well
at Murphysamonjody dot com.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Jody has three things to Know Today Coming up next.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
Here's three things to.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Know Today, powered by doctor Marty Nature's Blend Number one.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
Remember that huge baby formula shortage and recall we had
a couple of years ago. Will the same bacteria that
caused it is turning up again, and there's another baby formula.
Recall two brands to look for, Kreslac and Pharmalac. They
can cause babies to get really sick and can cause
some serious infections. The formula is made from goat's milk,

(20:14):
and the company that was that imported it it's a
Texas company. They weren't cleared to do so by the FDA,
So Kreslac and Pharmalac. Nobody's been sick from it yet.
But just look for it and you use it. Check
into it exactly. Number two, if you get invited over
to your friend's backyard during the summer, know that they
likely have spent some money to spruce it up. We

(20:34):
all when we want when we invite people over, we're
very aware of our backyards for summer. So most of
us want to buy new patio furniture. We're going to
have some sort of shinda. You want some sort of
landscaping done. Americans are spending almost one thousand bucks just
to have backyard parties. I'm thinking yourself, and then borrow stuff.
If you have to write for a one time Party

(20:56):
and number three Caitlin Clark for all of the attention
she is receiving right now on the court and off
the court. Another deal, she signed a multi year deal
with Wilson for her own line of signature basketballs.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
The first time an athlete since Michael Jordan has had
their own collection.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
I know.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Look for those, along with her other deals with State
Farm and Gatorade.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
You're in the note three things to know today.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
You can have a blast with your family and friends
for less than six bucks.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
You know how?

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Wow? Who knows?

Speaker 2 (21:31):
I read this whole thing, but I got sucked in.
It's the number one card.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
Game because it's so easy. Kids can play against adults
and they're not outmatched.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
It's actually somewhat learning for younger kids because you learn
your colors, your numbers.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
Oh yeah, I didn't think of that, Sam and.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
The other big thing.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
And you you learn collect as many wild draw fours
as possible. Yeah, because when you put those babies to use.
You know the thing about Uno to give it props though, seriously,
it is been around for a long time, fifty two years.
My mom was all about that when we were kids.
It's like, you know, we weren't going to the beach
without a pack of boot I know.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
And it's this.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
There are all these new versions of it, like there's
a Star Wars. There are pop culture versions of it.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
The one we have is the one where you press
the button and it shoots cards.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
I don't know what that one's called, but that seems
crazy deals for you.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Yeah, but it's like you press the button, you know,
instead of you pulling cards. It's like you press the
button in it get some point and not shoot any
or it might shoot ten cards, ok, and then you have.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
To take all ten of those. Yeah, ooh, that's not fair.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
Oh wow, and may shoot two cards, may shoot four.
I thought it was just malfunctioning. You're saying it's part
of the game. Okay, got it that, you know.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Show them No Mercy, No, I don't know what it is.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
Show them No Mercy is the newest version that came
out in twenty twenty three, and they can't keep that
one in stock. Everybody wants that one. It's just more brutal,
if you will, Like, instead of a draw four, which
already feels very painful, you get a draw twenty and
you draw ten or something crazy like that it's just
no mercy and they cannot keep that one in sock.

(23:09):
If you find that one, grab it. But you can
find them everywhere, and they're portable and it's inexpensive. It's
six dollars or less for Uno cards. To be honest
with you, your classic deck of Uno cards. As long
as you still have them all in the set, the
game doesn't change.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Yeah, it's still fun. Well, the only thing that does
change is they've clarified recently some of the cards. Oh yeah,
like the Draw two. They said you can't put two
draw twos on top of each other, like you can't
play a draw too and the next person play it. Okay,
oh really yeah, yeah, well okay, you can play the
way you've been playing.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
That doesn't surprise me coming from you being sort of
the game police.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
But hey, it was invented by this couple.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
They created like five thousand sets of them, set off
literally they were it was a barber and in nineteen
seventy one and they set off into to sell them
at campgrounds and that's how it started. Then they were
bought out in the eighties, and the Mattel bought it
in nineteen ninety two.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
So Okay, so a duo created Yes.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
On the way.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Next though, from our Cool Summer Eats, Becky wants to
add something to our key lime pie.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Recipe social media connect from our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
We have some comments rolling in about our cool Summer Eats.
We have some really good recipes there and they literally
are meant to cool you off. One of the best
easy key lime pie And no, it doesn't involve real
key limes.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
It's an easy one. You get it, you dig.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
So what you're using here is frozen lime limeade concentrate.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Okay, oh that.

Speaker 2 (24:43):
Frozen anything concentrate. Eat with a spoons.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
The thing about the concentrate is it's got enough bite.
Maybe it's believable to taste like a key lime.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
It is believable.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
It's a good recipe.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Condensed milk, you add and heavy cream and you put
it into Graham cracker pie crust and you use the
zest of one line for the top.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
It's really easy.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
Anyway, Becky says, definitely going to try to make the
key lime pie this summer, and the frozen lemonade. Yay,
she said, But I'm gonna add vodka.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
She leads to the frozen lemonade, the frozen lemonade being
vanilla ice cream and also frozen constance lemonade concent rate.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Yeah, so so good.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
I'm so checking picture before you put it out of
the table.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Ah yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
We also have coming out an email from my friend Anita,
who is a retired school teacher, and she sent this
research on she knows, she knows. I'm going to share it.
Research on summer reading. Children who do not read in
the summer can lose two to three months of reading skills.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Kids who do.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Read tend to gain a month of reading proficiency. I
believe it, and I know that kids don't care about that,
but parents and teachers do care.

Speaker 4 (25:58):
Well, you know, if you have a summer reading, if
you pace yourself. Yeah yeah, and don't try to cram
it the last two days before school starts again, Yeah,
you'll probably be okay. Chapter to time, right, a couple
of pages at the time.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
I didn't have any reading when I was a kid.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
We didn't either, I mean we did, but it was
during the school year, and I would always bite off
more than I could chew. I'll always pick withering, withering
heights or whatever, and it was like Why did you
do this year Wuthering Heights, Weathering? I know see I
had trouble.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Thank you read that one.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
He's been coming coming up next to your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
Trending now Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
It brought to you by Dairy Queen.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Now that James Bond is done for, actor Daniel Craig
looks like he's just gonna have fun in Hollywood. There's
a third Knives Out movie coming called Wake Up Dead Man.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
I suspect foul play. I have eliminated no such bits.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
He's funny like this. You like the Knives Out movies?

Speaker 4 (27:03):
Right?

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Fun They keep adding more and more stars to me,
when you add that many names, is the.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Plot good enough or you just do it? Doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (27:12):
This could go on for movie after movie. Just keep
rotating in the stuff.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
Different mysteries. Okay, So here's who's you know coming up
in this next one. Jeremy Renter, me Lacunis, Kerry Washington,
Glenn Close, and Josh Brolin has been added. No roles specifics,
like we're not we don't know who's gonna be doing what,
So no plot details either, But it's coming out in
twenty twenty five on Netflix with Daniel Craig in the lead.

(27:40):
I also have some Amazon Prime Video news. They're rebooting
American Gladiators. They'll have new and classic challenges like Gauntlet,
Hang Tough, and the Eliminator. They are searching for athletes
and wannabes that can go against their squad of Gladiators.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
I'll sit this one out.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
The original show.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
Debuted nineteen eighty nine and ran to nineteen ninety six.
So of more modern day a new American Gladiators.

Speaker 5 (28:09):
Sam's always up on the new eats. He's the food.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Dude, brought to you by Srewin Williams.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
You're a big fan of the Costco buck fifty hot
dog meal.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
I've never had it, but I'm a fan of the
price of it.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
I've heard it's a great hot dog.

Speaker 3 (28:23):
Well, it's good news because it's staying that way for
a while now. The past six months or so, there's
been talked. The previous CFO was talking about either getting
rid of it or jacking up the price. You realize
this has been the price since they started this in
the mid eighties, the mid eighties, forty years.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Why they get it, They need to just they need
to keep it just for fun.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Well, they got a new CFO. Apparently they didn't like
that hot dude messing with the hot dogs. And the
new CFO during his first earnings call also included, by
the way, the dollar fifty hot dog is safe.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
Yay, they are making plenty of money to leave the
dollar fifty hot dog alone.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Yeah, they are. I never did have the hot dog.
Chances are if you're buying the hot dog, you're going
to buy a drink or something like that with it.
Dollar fifty You got a hot dog at a drink? Oh? Really?
Our one hundred?

Speaker 1 (29:10):
You know, makeup wise, all the things you go into
cost for costco for and you don't plan to get.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Rather have a hot dog than the makeup. All right.
Wendy's has some new nuggets for us. They're called saucy
nuggets because they already come pre made with the sauce
on them. You don't have to, you know, dip your own. Okay,
I don't understand.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
Oh they're cut, they're like buffalo wings.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
They're they're nuggets, and they toss them for you.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
Oh got it, okay, so that you just get them.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
You don't have to get all dirty honey, barbecue, spicy honey, barbecue,
garlic parm, spicy garlic, palm, buffalo, spicy buffalo, and spicy
goast pepper.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
They're coated.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
Yeah, yes, they're coated.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Got it?

Speaker 3 (29:42):
And if you have the Wendy's app, you can get
those now. If not, you have to wait till next week. Okay, dreamsickle,
it's going somewhere else now. I hop Oh they're pancake
flavor of the month, the orange cream pancakes.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
That's different.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
It's I got vanilla moose, orange sauce and whipped topping
on them. That sounds happy?

Speaker 2 (30:02):
That does There's nothing bad. I mean, there's no pancake
that doesn't sound happy.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Yeah, you're happy. And did you know that This Friday
is National Donut Day?

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (30:12):
Lordie, no, you're ready for it. Duncan says, if you
buy anything, we'll give you a free donut Friday. Krispy
Kreme says, just come on in and ask for free donut.
We'll give it to everyone you want to choose. Probably
your local favorite donut place too, is doing something Friday.
And if you're a big fan of Sweet Baby Rays,
they have two new hot sauces for us. A smoke,
Chipotle and a spicy garlic.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
