Speaker 2 (00:13):
We're living in anymore Murphy with Taylor and Phoebe moving
back in temporarily.

Speaker 4 (00:19):
How's it going so far?

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Great?

Speaker 5 (00:21):
Which we're kind of spoiled. Actually, I love having them back.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
They all their stuff is not put away yet, so
that's kind of working on my nerve a little bit.
But I do love it because it's been fun and
shopping for them, grocery shopping for them was fun. The
surprise in the fridge midnight Chocolate milk. I dropped that
in there for them, And is.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
That the name of it?

Speaker 5 (00:41):
That's when they drink. I'm joking. That's actually promised.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Land is the brand, and it's called Midnight Chocolate and
it's just a hit. It's more chocolate e than most
chocolate milks, if you will.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Okay, so, but.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
But regarding Murphy and I being in not so such
an empty nest anymore, I we sent them us.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
I'm a terrible mom and nana. I was so.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Happy when the kids graduated and went off to college,
military and jobs, not a tear was shed, except when
the grand was jumping out of airplanes.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
That was out of fear. Oh ah, sweet thing. Iris.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
I don't think there's anything wrong. There's any wrong there's
I don't think there's any wrong way to do it.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Iris.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
There were time, there were days when I was loving
empty nest and everybody would ask you when your kids
both move out, are you okay?

Speaker 3 (01:30):
How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
And I'm like, I'm great, I'm fine. I talked to
them all the time too.

Speaker 5 (01:36):
I had the first, I had the blas the first
few weeks the y Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
They weren't all the way across the country though.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
Yeah, yeah, correct, right exactly. But you know, you do
get used to having your own space again too, which
I think that's just human nature, right until they come back.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Right right, which they have now. So you're not there's
no wrong way to do it, Iris. Just because the
rest of the world or a lot of your friends
may feel like or seem like they're down, it doesn't
mean that's the way to be. Yeah, there's no wrong
way to do that, okay. Also from our Facebook page,
Tamra must have been listening to the to the podcast Murphy.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
She says Murphy.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
When I was a kid, we would go visit relatives
in the Caribbean and my great uncle would bring us
that pink box of Nabisco assorted cookies. What good memories
you gave me when I heard you mention it. Yeah,
I always enjoy your show.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Well, thank you.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
That was when I was a kid. That's what my
grandmother used to bring all the time. My mom's mom.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
I don't know this box.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
It was just a It was a very simple box
with the little printed wrapper on the top, and then
you had eight or ten different cookies.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
So way to take the regular cookies and.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Make them fancy exactly. Keep it coming, Join us anytime.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
Coming up at six p fifty. Jody has three things
to note today and next, Sam is the food dude.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Let you know which NFL brothers are starting their new
cereal and one of the guys dates Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
If it's new and you can eat it, Sam's found it.
He's the food.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Dude, brought to you by famous footwear Welly Kelsey Brothers
or opping a new cereal on us in the fall,
just in time for football seasons.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Just what we need. Have you been to the cereal Aisle.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Well, this one sounds fun. Okay. They debuted this back
in The New Heights, their podcast at the end of
last year. They were talking about cereal and how much
they love to mix cereals as kids. Correct, So General
Mills goes, hey, let's jump on this one. So it's
going to be called Kelsey Mixed Cereal and it combines
Reese's Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Oh so they're not reinventing a new cereal. Okay, this
is a fantastic idea, So you don't have to mix it.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Although when you're.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
A kid in the kitchen in the morning, especially in
the summer, isn't it. That's part of the process, the
fun of mixing.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Well, I mean just think of it. Now they can
make so many brands now to start mixing stuff.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
I only mixed the variety packs as a kid, the
little boxes.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
You know, did you mix them, Jody?

Speaker 3 (03:51):
I never did me either.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
I never mixed cereal.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Well, we only honestly, here we go.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Well, I did the sample packs because one box wasn't enough.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Well, we had like one box at a time, and
we wouldn't get a new box until we finished the first.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
One probably wasn't anything fancy either.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Huh Cheerios, move on, Hey, we.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Got cheerios again. Yuh, thanks mom. Some new coffee creamer
is from Coffee Mate. There's a Kitcat flavor Caramel Apple crisp,
well interest that's nice for fall. And one called Chocolate
Caliente Mexicano. It's a little spicy chocolate for you there.
And speaking of chocolate, if you ever went to Hershey
World and Hershey Pa, they have the Hershey's Chocolate World

(04:30):
there and there are certain candies that they only sell there.
You can't get them anywhere else. Well, now they're starting
to bring those out. You can only get these there before,
but now they're popping up in stores. Hershey's Salted Caramel,
Hershey's Cookies and Mint, and Hershe's strawberries and cream.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Nice. That one sounds really good, okay.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
And Beyond Meat. Usually when they create a beyond meat product,
it tastes it's supposed to taste like the meat it's
created like. Well, they've come up with one now called
Beyond Sun Sausage, which is made from vegetables, fruits, lagomes,
spin bell Pepper's peas, rice, a bunch of stuff like
veggie sauce. Yeah, and it's going to be another satisfying
source of protein.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Excellent.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
Coming up, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
What some say is Eddie Murphy's most important comedy is
now coming to a streaming.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
Service Trending Now. Jody's Hollywood Outsider, brought to you by
Dairy Queen.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
What some say is Eddie Murphy's most important comedy film
now if you're scratching your head, but It's Coming to
America is now coming to streaming this week on Paramount Plus.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
I believe the Child and future Thank you. You know
what was so beautiful about this one?

Speaker 2 (05:41):
About this If you think about his comedy, a lot
of it was very raunchy, raw Pardon the Pond, and
then this landed and the innocence with which he played
this character. He was an innocent type character coming to
America to find love and it's there's so many funny moments.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Now.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
I don't know if it would land as well today,
but remember this was nineteen eighty eight. Anyway, if you
have been missing it and want to see relive it
August First, which is later this week on Paramount Plus.
And critics do say it's his best ever, some of
his best stuff. I agree, all right, Ben Affleck, you
want to move on to this what's going on with
him now? Today he closed on a Pacific Palisades mansion.

(06:21):
He paid two hundred I'm sorry twenty million for it.
And the word is he and Jal are trying to
unload that mansion that they own together.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Oh and it.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Just makes everybody think they still might be supparate. It's
not going well. They're both still showing up in public
with their rings on, but not together.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Not together all summer.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
Coming up next, Jody and I are going to introduce
you to a new member of our family. Sam. Huh,
Uncle Fishman.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Want to introduce you, Sam to the new member of
our family. Me and Murph have brought into the home.
Well Phoebe did anyway, Phoebe came back in.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
We've not brought him into the studio this morning at.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Home, Uncle fish Man. Phoebe has a fish. While she
was at her college apartment, she got a fish. He's
a beta.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Oh okay, and.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
He has a whole tank and all this kind of nonsense,
And it's not not that's not what I mean.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
I guess we see what the cinema is already.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Here's what happened.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
First of all, I love the way she names I
wrote it down uncle Fishman, because the first day I
was forgetting his name. I kept going put uncle Cracker,
Like what are we doing?

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Is just uncle fish man.

Speaker 5 (07:36):
I called him Uncle Fishmeister, and that didn't work either.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
She's gonna leave.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
She brought him, but I didn't realize I've never had
a beta fish.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
There's no there's no pump running or any of that.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
And there's no action either.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Really, actually, when she moved him, she took him out
of the tank and put him in a little cup,
and you know, her boyfriend Stewart helped move him, and
then she plopped him back into the water. And he
was acting weird, like swimming sideways, wonky, and I was like,
I think he was.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
He was when an eye shot of the bearded dragon
across the room from him, so he saw a reptile
and got scared.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Yeah, we did put him in the in the middle
of the living room.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
What color is he He's red, but he's got white lips,
and so when he kind of it's it's funny. And
Phoebe even said when he starts looking at you. It
looks like he's blowing you strange kisses.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Since he doesn't have anybody to flare up at. Does
he flare up?

Speaker 3 (08:31):
I've never seen him.

Speaker 5 (08:32):
Do they flare? I didn't know they fare?

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Yeah, you've never seen it. Like if you put two
males together.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Isn't that a bad thing?

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Not in the same tank, like two bowls next to
each other. Oh, look at each other. They flare, you know,
like a peacock. Yeah, that's what they do.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I didn't know that, Just like in reality, the only
the only thing around each other.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
He got really still around the fake plants in there,
and Phoebe said, look, don't worry, he's just sleeping. I
know he looks dead.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
I was so worried whenever he was acting weird, and
she even came out and said, wait, he's acting weird.
She said, Mom, don't worry. He's a very weird fish.
And every time, sure enough, he pops back up and
starts swimming. But I'm just worried.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
When you move a fish, sometimes you'll lose a yesh.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Coming up next, Jody has three things to Know Today.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Three things you need to know Today.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Brought to you by doctor Marne nature's blend.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Number one, the Federal Reserve getting together today. That means
the biggest money mines in Washington to decide whether they
were lower interest rates today, making it slightly cheaper for
you to borrow money for a new home, et cetera.
They've been waiting for inflation to slow down, and now
that it has, they're considering moving it down a smidge

(09:42):
from where it is at five point five percent. Number
two Team USA today, here's what to watch, and of
course if you can't watch and catch it, you can
catch it in primetime. A lot going on, US men's
volleyball team taking on Germany. We've got Team USA facing
Romania in men's wor water polo, and one of the
big ones later American men's three on three basketball against Serbia.

(10:07):
That's expected to be a nail biter of a game,
expected also to land in prime time. And Number three Costco.
You guys are like this, slowly rolling out a buy
online pick up in store service, rolling it out, offering
it only at limited warehouses across the country, so it's
not everywhere.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
Good idea, But who wants to actually just pick up
something and leave? Costco?

Speaker 4 (10:30):
That's part of the fun is like shot sample, it's
like pre ordering a home depots.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Here's another piece of Costco news. They're offering more electronics
in the store.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
Three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
So, who's actually watching the Olympics and what are they watching?

Speaker 3 (10:47):
What sport specifically?

Speaker 2 (10:49):
I think we can all guess the number one sport
of interest this time around, right, women's.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
The headliner is coming back.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Yeah, because it's a big story she's and she's killing it.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
Even with a calf injury.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Her. It's her big story because for her, what's so
interesting about it is it's it is Team USA, and
it is patriotic and she is representing the USA. But
for her, this is redemption for her. She's doing it
to prove to herself that she can do it, you know,
because of what happened to her in Tokyo.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
In twenty twenty.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
But the word is women watch the Olympics more than men.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
Yeah, I can see that.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
And the number one sport being sought out currently women's gymnastics.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
You know what's funny about you saying that, Jodi is
we So we're traveling right now, and so when on
the road, Yeah, we're on the road and whenever, uh,
we were on the plane. Jody was sitting in my right,
there was another lady sitting on my left, and the
screens on the plane they both had chosen gymnastics.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Oh, she was watching it.

Speaker 5 (11:55):
I was watching the same thing you were.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
She'd have switched seats with you to watch with that
beautiful lady.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
What's funny is that I was watching it was like
Jordan Chiles, who was awesome, and Snoop was sitting next
to her parents Sam. He was like in the house,
think about being how nervous you are. And then Snoop
Dogg's in the front row, but he was He's all
over the place watching all these girls and do these
incredible technical things. And then we land right but right

(12:23):
before Sony Lee and right before some moms. I had
to watch those later, like because I didn't get to
watch those lives.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
I think a lot of people are doing that same thing. Well,
the time difference means, of course you're watching it later.
But I also saw that, like the primetime coverage, more
people are watching things in pieces and parts on their
own than watching the Olympics the way that I guess
we used to over the years. Yeah, which is kind
of a I mean to me sad sadding away because
right you want to rally around all team USA, no

(12:49):
matter what the sport.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Well, I mean yeah, and that's what I will say.
This one of the top.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Google things right now and I like this is that
is USA Metal count. One of the top Google in
America is USA Metal Count, which means, hey, people do
want to see where we stand. But I get fascinated
with gymnastics because there all of these sports are hard,
but it's just like unbelievable and these girls are trying

(13:14):
to be perfect.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
By the way, you can catch the women's gymnastic final
what's going on today, but you can catch the highlights tonight.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
Coming up, Jody has another Hollywood Outsider and next, Sam
has music news.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
To tell you about Lady Gaga, who is about to
become missus Gaga.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Sam's music News.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Brought to you by Progressive.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
I think we have to thank the French Prime Minister
for letting us know that Lady Gaga is now officially engaged.
You know, she is at the Olympics. She was part
of the opening ceremony.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Everybody who wants to be at the Olympics is there
because it's in Paris.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Yeah, she a hard, you know.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
She's had a classic French song. And afterwards she went
and sat in the stands. And the reason the French
prime minister is involved is she was talking to the
French Prime minister and she says, I would like you
to meet my fiance, Michael Polanski, and the French Prime
Minister was, you know, videotape in and so he could
put it on his TikTok.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
On it and so it's like ah known as mister
Gaga when they get married, and she.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
Probably won't be known as missus Polanski, you see, will not.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
You know.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Taylor Swift is going to be in London mid August
for five dates at Wembley. And now we have something
extra special if you happen to be going to see
her there at the very fancy Victoria and Albert Museum.
This is the museum and has like priceless stuff in it.
They've curated a songbook trail and it's all Taylor Swift
stuff and it's coming from Taylor's archives. She lent them

(14:43):
these those blue cowboy boots and a turquoise dress from
two thousand and seven, back in the early days, right
all the way up to the gold or the yellow
Cinderella like dress from the Bejeweled video, the sweater from
the Cardigan video.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
So there's no way she's keeping all this stuff anyway.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
She has an archive. She's lent them that and then
you put it back in her archive, and that's going
to be there all the way through early September. So
if you happen to be going over to catch Taylor
in concert in Fine Ball, yeah there's something else for
you to catch. And thanks to Target making a little
boo boo on their website, I think we know who
all the guests are going to be on Post Malone's
upcoming album. Now we already know he's doing this and

(15:22):
with Morgan Wallen he's doing a Blake Big song, Blake
Shelton song. He's doing one with Luke Colmbs. But Target
printed the Hey, the album's coming, and here's the track list,
and the track list lists all the artists he's singing with,
like Laney Wilson, Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, Jelly Roll, Tim McGraw,
Chris Stapleton, and Hank Junior.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
WHOA anybody who wanted Huh, that's right.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
The album drops August the sixteenth, coming up.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
Next, Jody has your Hollywood.

Speaker 6 (15:47):
Outsider trending Now, Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Brought to you by Dairy Queen.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
You know, it seems like half of Hollywood is in Paris,
and why not. You know, if you are not working,
if you have the time right now, little break in
your schedule, why not get to cheer on Team USA
or cheer on whatever team you want to. We've seen
Tom cruises there, which is funny because Nicole Kibben and
Keith Urban were spotted there as well.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
We know God goys there.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Mick Jagger was there with his son, one of his kids,
you know, watching a watching a competition. But the real,
I guess celebrity star that everybody waits to see every
single day is Snoop Dog.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
From the beginning.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Opening ceremony when he's carrying the torch and he's wearing
that Olympic track suit which you definitely had custom made.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
Now have you heard about the T shirts? He'll show up.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
At an event when he was watching some of the
women's gymnastics, he was wearing a Simone Miles shirt and
then the other day he was wearing a Cocoa golf
shirt when he was at the tennis thing, and then
he apparently gave her a little pin with a picture
of him blowing smoke rings in the in the shape
of the Olympic rings.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
That's the word, that's the thing. Like, he's the one
to see.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Not only is he there Team USA, go Team USA,
but he will specifically, you know, root for other specific athletes.
So everybody wants to know not only wear is snoop,
but what is he wearing?

Speaker 1 (17:17):
Coming up with Murphy Salm and Jody at.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
The airport the other day, find out why Murphy asked
Jody to haul the plane.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
When you are traveling, flying and you have missed your
connection at an airport and you run up to the
gate and they've closed the gate and you can't get
on the plane, but you see the plane. That is
a certain sort of pain that we all experience together
the other day.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
It's a certain sort of pain and also a certain
sort of anger. Well, at first, you don't why can't
you just let it right?

Speaker 2 (17:47):
It's right, they have rules and protocols exactly. Okay, So
I was thinking the same thing. It's like, I understand
and respect that once you've closed those gates, you cannot
it cannot be How nice was the person? Did they
beg what's the reason they were late?

Speaker 5 (18:03):
And the biggest one is safety checks. I mean they've
got their whole safety check list is done. You go
back and you open a boarding door again, or the
jet bridge may have already been you know.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
So we had a connection to make and we were
late landing because of weather. We were in a holding
pattern for a long time. In fact, Murphy kept going,
you see you feel this. We're going in a circle, baby,
We're in a holding pattern.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
Baby.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
I'm like, thank you. I'm trying to watch gymnastics or
listen to gymnastics.

Speaker 5 (18:29):
But I went back and looked at the Flight Aware
app afterwards and it was we made six circles in
one place, three and another. But as once.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
We were able to get off plane number one. It's
my favorite thing that Murphy said to me in weeks, Sam,
you don't know about this, but he called me when
you and I were we were out in the terminal, Sam,
you and I waiting for Murphy to get his checked bag,
hoping to make our connection, which was what four terminals down.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
We were in Terminal D and this was in Terminal
A that we had to get to in seven minutes.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Yeah, an impossibility really, But Murphy called me and says,
try to make it and tell them I'm coming. I
see if they'll hold the plane the like I know,
you don't think I'm gonna ask somebody to hold the
plane because my husband's coming with his checked bag.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
I was thinking that. When we took off, I was like, Okay,
so what am I going to say.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
It's just I figured the odds would be improved if
there were some somebody there. We're all in the same ticket.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Yeah, but yeah, Murphy put the pressure on me, tell
them to hold the plane. I did not ask them
to hold the plane, just so you know, which they didn't. Anyway,
we all know missed our connection.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
Coming up next, Jody has three things to know Today.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Three things you need to.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Know Today, brought to by doctor Marty Natre's plane.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Number one.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
It looks like Delta Airlines will seek compensation from Microsoft
and crowd Strike after that global software outage earlier this month.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
They got stung by that way they did.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
Get it's stung.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
What happened was they canceled thousands of flights and in
the aftermath they left a lot of travelers stranded. They say,
this whole meltdown could cost them, is costing them hundreds
of millions of dollars, so they're going to be seeking compensation.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Big mess.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
I feel like they're kind of all caught up now.
Number two, the FDA has approved the first ever blood
test for colorectal cancer. Oh yes, it's called Shield. It's
been on the market since twenty twenty two. Really expensive
costs like nine hundred bucks, but the FDA approval version
cuts the cost of buying. It cuts the cost with

(20:36):
your insurance company and whatnot. The blood tests are more
accurate and doctors say, this doesn't mean you won't have
to get a colonoscopy, but it means you may be
getting fewer in the future. And number three Target is
getting in on the upcycling trend with denim. They're doing
a Denim take by back event in August. This means
when products get new life, just as something else. It's

(20:59):
like recycling. Okay, okay, You bring in up to five
pairs of denim, jeans, jackets, whatever it is, and they
give you twenty percent off a new item jeans, jackets,
whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
In August.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
August fourth through the tenth for back to school shopping.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
Three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
When you become a mom, And I do mean if
your kids are little right now and you are trying
to get them to camp or you know, school or
whatever right now or later in life, when you haven't
seen or heard from them in days because they're off
at college or whatever stage you're in, you realize along
the way that it changes constantly. You know, when they're babies,
they need you every second, They need you physically every second.

(21:44):
When they're toddlers, they need you, you know, watching them
to make sure they don't do something dangerous because the
toddler is a dangerous little thing.

Speaker 5 (21:52):
When not, why on two feet?

Speaker 4 (21:53):
Yeah, and the problem levels change too. Maybe I could
manage it more when they were toddlers. Now some of
the big problems.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Right it becomes functional problems don't run down the stairs
to mental things or like working through life. But I
was thinking about it because it's like motherhood changes. Yes,
parenthood you guys too in that mix, but it never ends.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
It does not end.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
And it's what's the reason I bring it all back
up is with the girls coming home for a little bit,
a little bit of time here MRV coming back, and
we're not as empty nest as we were when Phoebe
brought all of her stuff in the other day.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
She has a lot of stuff.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
She has a lot of things, and so she left
them all in the main front room, and which is
what we suggest. We told her, like, I'm like, you
have a week, take your time, work on this a
little bit every day. But I realized I needed to
help her through that mentally because it was overwhelming her. Yeah,
And I was just like, understand, if you think about

(22:54):
any problem, this, this stuff, or any problem in the.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Big picture, you know it's going to overwhelm you.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
So you just think of one that like handle that
box today and then tomorrow handle that suitcase, and the
next day handle where this is going to go.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
And it's funny.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
Or sometimes you pick up one box and you feel
like finishing all the rest of then you know what
I mean, I never.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
Know what's going to hit you, like let wait and
let your energy determine that. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
But the reason I bring it up is not because
the whole you know, little, one thing at a time.
It's just that I realized that was me mothering her
like doing that, and I loved it, and I realized, oh,
this is just the difference of me mothering as opposed
to the way it used to be.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
Once a mom, always a mom. Really, I mean my
mom was that way until the day that she passed.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
You know.

Speaker 5 (23:39):
Yeah, they're still looking after me, making sure you have
to have snacks.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
Yeah, yeah, you want some of this.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Trying to be h I think, I think I was
trying to ask the girls if they need snacks. But
then I have to stop myself when Taylor went to
the beach the other days, like please bring sunscreen, and
then I heard myself say it it changes, but it
never ends.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Coming up with Murphy Samon Jody.

Speaker 5 (24:01):
Jody has another Hollywood Outsider coming up next.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
They we'll take you to eat in the Olympic village.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
If you think that, if you would tend to think
that food would be better in a Paris Olympics village,
you're right, all right, I want to take you to
the Olympics village. As far as food goes, take you
back a little ways. McDonald's provided a lot like half
a little less than half of the food all meals
at the London Olympics. The word is in Beijing. You

(24:30):
saw in Bolt allegedly ate like a thousand chicken nuggets
in the two weeks he was there because it was
his favorite thing and he would hit it every day. Yeah,
I'm thinking, man, he burned those off easily. Yeah, in
ten seconds exactly. The word is though, So for the
Paris Olympics, the head of the Olympic village, the person
in charge said, you know what, no fast food. Oh,

(24:52):
we're offering only nutritious meals. These are athletes and that's
what they wanted to do, and they brought in Michelin's
oh to prepare fancy. Apparently the food is definitely a
notch above. I mean, I guess if you sort of
want a counter service situation, you can have it, but
you can also have highly nutritious things.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
So I can't find a royale with cheese there, and
hopefully you're not gonna have a few s cargo before
a pole vault.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Look, these athletes and their trainers know what they should
and should not when you have spent your life every
moment not eating what you want for years probably And
actually the celebration, the celebratory food will happen after the game, exactly,
it will.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
Yeah, I mean even if they put a McDonald's there, you're.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
You're not going to hit that until later or if
at all. The word is also no alcohol. Alcohol is
banned in the village, even French wine. No sneaking out,
either to get like a shake at midnight or anything
like that. Athletes have to stay in the village for
five days before their event, and I think that's really
smart and for their own good.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
You do know that.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
The other night during the opening ceremonies, which was it
was a long thing, there were a lot of famous
you at Team USA athletes that you're looking for and
you're like, why is someone Biles not there? And where's
Katie Lidecki and all of that. Everybody's asking those questions.
The word is, if they had attended, they would have
been on.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
Their feet for like six hours.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
It's a long it's a hard, long commitment to get there,
be there, and you don't want to peace out and
leave early. So if your favorite athlete wasn't there, it's
probably because they were competing.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
Then that's coming up next. Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider brought to you by Dairy Queen with
Deadpool and Wolverine being the biggest movie in the world
right now.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
I want to share a little behind the scenes for you.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
You're well regarded, you were an X man.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
I don't even think I saw the second Deadpool movie,
but I feel like I need to see this because
hello Wolverine.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
But one of the big surprises, a lot of them.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
There were a ton of super like Matthew McConaughey, and
then the one of the biggest Wesley Snipes u back
in this movie as Blade, which that was twenty years
ago when he was Blade, and Wesley Snipes even said, well,
this won't happen for me. How did it happen? Ryan
Reynolds worked with him in the Blade movies. Ryan Reynolds
called him and said, hey, I want you to be

(27:21):
a part of this as Blade, and Wesley Snipe said,
this is not gonna happen. Disney's not going to allow
it because remember Marvel already has a Blade movie in
the works starring Maherschela Ali.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Oh okay, oh you didn't know that.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Oh I like that.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
And Wesley Snipes thought, well, I'm done with Blade because
if they've moved.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
On, you know, he's younger. All that happens that.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
It's the multiverse. You can do anything you want.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
That's what they said.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
What they said basically, sird Sam, Yeah, you're hired.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
So when Disney approved it, and Ryan was able to
call Wesley and said, you're in pretty happy day in
his life. Join the conversation any time, or you can
text us at this number as well. Eight seven seven
three one zero four MSJ.

Speaker 5 (28:10):
Here's a new scam to watch out for. And it
got pulled on me. And I'm gonna tell you that
maybe for the first sixty seconds it sounded legit. But
the longer that I kept this person on the phone
who was trying to scam me, the more wholes started
to you know, it started to fall apart. But here's
here's this really scary part about this. When it was
a call but the phone number I recognized as being

(28:33):
the Sheriff's office, Oh, I kind of will.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Still want to know how you know the sheriff's office number.

Speaker 5 (28:38):
Okay, just over the years. It's one of those easy numbers.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
I mean I don't know the sheriff's office number either.
I mean, if you really are mister Sake, what else do.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
We not know.

Speaker 5 (28:50):
It's just part of what I've done that I know
the number.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
So it is scary though that it was the sheriff's
office number.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
Yeah, it was. It was spoofed though the person was
calling me was able to and they can there's a
there's a way that these scammers are able to do
that where they can display a number on your smartphone
that's not necessarily the actual number that they're calling.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
That needs to be stopped.

Speaker 5 (29:10):
Yah. And so that's what for the first few you know,
minutes of the call, he represented himself as being you know,
with the Sheriff's office. He said that I missed the
summons for jury duty, that the judge addressed confirmed address,
you know, phone number and all that, but that's all
that he had, and and that the judge had you know,
issued a bench warrant, and that I would I had,

(29:31):
you know, two different options. One was either to come
down to the Sheriff's office. Oh I know what it was.
Also he said that I had someone had signed you know,
the certified letter for the summons and I needed to
come down for a handwriting analysis to see if that
was actually mine or not somebody had faked. But the
story started to fall apart the more that he started

(29:53):
to give me all these fake statutes and other.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
Things that to pay to.

Speaker 5 (29:59):
Yeah, the goal I was supposed to pay three thousand
dollars for you know, not showing up, and the other
three thousand was a contempt of court, so six thousand
dollars and that I would be reimbursed after everything was
you know, cleared up in my name. Oh of course yes.
And like I said, that's where it fell apart. But
you think about it, you know, your elderly parents or

(30:20):
somebody who's unsuspecting if they think the phone number is
somebody else.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
So how'd you get out of it?

Speaker 5 (30:26):
I thanked him for his time and I hung up, literally,
hurfey
