Speaker 1 (00:01):
Here it is Friday, and it's Grateful Friday. By the way,
we do you want to hear from you. We're going
to get to those comments and your calls about little
and big things you are grateful for. But here it
is Friday, and on Monday. I think I asked you, Murphy,
to let me know what food you wanted for your
family birthday party tomorrow night at the house, and so
since you have not let me.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Know the part.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Made a little bit of an executive decision along with
our girls.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Well, since it's Grateful Friday, I just want you to
know I'm grateful for that. Thank you of we know.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
What kind of food you like, and you did say
that you wanted finger food, nothing fancy.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Yeah, I just I'm not picky when it comes to that.
I totally trust you. My actual birthday birthday was, you know, Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
So I'm going to break it down for you.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Some of your favorites, Taylor and Phoebe are all on
board because they like these as well. And it's easy
for me. Actually, we're going to do buffalo chicken sliders
and barbecue chickens sliders. We have two big crock pots.
One is ours slow cooker, and one is Tailor's that
she brought when she moved back in. It's like, all right,
we're gonna put that thing to work. So the fun
(01:09):
will be those will be cooking all day. The house
will smell like a party. I'm probably gonna buy some
of the slider buns, you.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Know, pretz. There's so many choices now, potato, right, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
A really good idea.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Will be that, and.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Then it'll be nice too. You could put a whole
you know.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Different next to the slow cooker of buffalo chicken with
all the sauciness, ranch and blue cheese offerings. I know
that's not for you, but I'll put some little cellery
sticks because it's just a theme. I may or may
not do a French fry board because it's just fun.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
They sound fun, but they're gonna get cold, right, there's
no real Yeah, it sounds like a really cool concept.
And of course maybe everybody would eat it so fast
it wouldn't have a chance to get cold.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
So I just want you to know that's what we're doing.
It's gonna be fun. Everybody will eat it.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
I like the little thing, your foods and all that,
and that's because everybody can visit, you know what I mean.
They can still go sit down if they want to,
but there's nothing that you're.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
You'd be breaking out forks for anything.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
And I like that because I really do want to
catch you. I haven't seen my family hasn't gotten together
in before Christmas.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
That's crazy, before Christmas.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
I can't believe it. It's already August and that's the case.
So the visiting to me is what's going to be.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
That's the present, your gift. We're making this party happen.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
In a situation like this, does he do his Murphy
thing and say, you know what these sliders could use?
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Uh No, because he's talking to his family, not me.
Now after the party, I do hear some of that sometimes.
Now the other surprise, the surprise will be the dessert.
I'm not going to tell you what your dessert will be.
It will not be you know, traditional birthday cake though.
Speaker 6 (02:42):
Ah Okay, coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Jody has three things to know today coming up at
six fifty and next, Sam is the food dude.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Yeah we know McDonald's is getting rid of AI at
their drive through. But coming up, I'll tell you which
restaurant is adding it to all their drive throughs.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
Sam's always up on the eats.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
He's the food dude brought to buy famous footwear.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Earlier this year, McDonald said, you know what, we're pulling
AI from our drive through because it's there's it's causing
too many problems and misunderstandings and all that kind of huha. Well,
the other side of this is Taco Bell.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
They're gonna do it. They're gonna do it.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
They say they've been testing this fine tune in it
all that at AI at the drive through for.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Like two years now.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
And wait, we didn't know.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
I didn't know it. I wasn't it my drive through.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
And the line they gave us is straight out of
the Murphy Handbook. We're confident in its effectiveness and optimizing
operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Oh wow, Murphy, you've been moonlighting with Taco Belves things
like that.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
The translation is we think it's gonna work good.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
We hope so.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
And they say it's been a big success among both
the customers and employees of the restaurant. So I'm going
to roll it out to hundreds of Taco Bells before
the end of this year and then I guess the
rest by the next year.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
It's so interesting to be in a time where AI
is being tested so much. One day future generations will
never know the pain we've gone through with these bombs.
Speaker 5 (04:02):
I mean they had real people taking your order, Yes
they did. McDonald's has got a new mcflurry. However, they
are only trying this in Chicago, So if you're going
to be in Chicago soon, you got to get on
this one at the international McDonalds headquarters. Okay, bisc off mcflurry,
Oh really, okay, little pieces of biscoff and.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Caramel sauce on.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Top, and they've got that on hand, and you know what,
but and they're not the first to do that though,
because you know, our daughters Taylor and Phoebe have gone
to a frozen con custard concrete place whatever that actually does.
It's like what it's called seasonal right, it doesn't it's
not all the time, but it's at it. No, Yeah,
(04:44):
you're a fan. I am. Next time it's in season,
I will try it.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
All right.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
Jumping over to the grocery store, Zapp's Potato Chips. They
got a new flavor. It's called the Big Cheesy Okay,
when I was thinking, Oh, does that mean they're going
into like the cheese curl business. No, it's a chip,
but it's cheeseavorite chip, you know, like Lais has the
sour cream and chadder and yeah, okay, I love it.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
I love the crunchy crunchy.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
The folks who make some beef jerky, Jacklynx, they are
now selling canned beans. Yeah, I guess it's with jack
Link Spices. You got the original with beans or without? Oh,
it's actually chili pepper and chili with means jalapeno chili
wood means and hickory chili wold beans.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Okay, and it's made by jack Lynx.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
So is the chili meat like jerky.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
I'm assuming it's got the same flavor as has.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 7 (05:35):
The latest buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Brought to you by Dairy Queen.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
There is a movie opening at the box office now
this weekend. You can go see it now, but be prepared.
It's gonna fight Twisters for the number two spot, because
I do think Deadpool and Wolverine will still be number one.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
However, this is a horror movie.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Psychological thriller movie from the mind of m Night Shyamalan.
It's his next movie. It's called Trap, starring Josh Hartnett.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
What's going on, Daddy, Well, I can't.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Get away my hands stop me. I'll just do this
one last one.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
It's all set at this concert and this dad shows
up with his daughter. I don't want to give too
much away to see a concert, to see a show,
but then you realize there's something else going on there,
you know, at the venue, and you're sort of trapped there,
and it is fair.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
The trailer gave me. I felt like I need to
go take a shower.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
It was just scary.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
It was scary, and it was a mind thing, just
like we expect from end Night Shaman.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
And look, he knows he has a lot to live
up to. He does.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
I also, I want to mention this that Kevin Costner's
Horizon Part two will be in theater. I'm sorry, I
will be there, but it's it's debuting at the Venice
Film Festival later this month.
Speaker 6 (07:00):
Up with Murphy Salmon, Jody we.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Loving hearing this. What would you medal in if you
were in the Olympics? Come into you next?
Speaker 6 (07:08):
Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
With the Olympics here all the way until the twelfth
of this month. You can still catch things here and
there and on apps, and you know, at night in primetime,
and it's inspiring to me. So we asked on our
Facebook and Instagram pages what would you meddle in? If
you if it was an event, what would you meddle in?
It doesn't matter gold, silver or bronze. We would want
(07:33):
to know, Carlo said, sleeping, Ron said napping. Seriously, if
it were an Olympic sport and I was younger and
a lot better, I would want to meddle in bowling.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Oh oh a sport Olympic sport.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
I don't know, has it ever been. It's like one of.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Those things that seems like one that should be.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Okay, Don said, giving judgmental stairs once I want to
say something ridiculous. The funny thing is ask your friends
what would you could you meddle in? Because sometimes you
don't know what you really are naturally good at. Other
(08:14):
people that are around you, love you, near you, They
can see you and reveal you.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yeah, it's a fact.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Murphy could medal in management. You know, Murphy can medal in.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Non athletic events. You mean anything anything.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
If you choose anything, what can you meddle in?
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Yeah, Jessica said, I definitely get the gold medal for
unnecessary stressing.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
Oh, I'm sorry to hear.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
I'd give her a run for her money.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
Suzanne says grass cutting, Oh yeah, bring it. Yeah, And
also Kathy says, I love the Olympics. I think I
would get a medal for being a fanatic about perfecting
a perfectly cut and groomed.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yard in my eyes cool.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
I love doing my yard work and then to look
at it afterwards is rewarding. It's the little I got
to agree there. I don't like getting into it, but
as soon as it's done, you feel look at it
and go.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
I did that, Yeah, Terry said diaper changing. I'm a
mom of six, including a set of twins. They've been
out of diapers for a while, but I'd still win
that gold.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
I believe it.
Speaker 5 (09:20):
Tell you what, changing diapers on twins is a challenge.
It as you get one over here, the other one
rolled over.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
And diaper changing on just a squiggling baby is you
got to be quick and efficient and you have to
get it on there correctly. Way to go Terry, keep
it coming. You know you love hearing from you anytime.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Jody has three things to Know Today. Coming up next.
Speaker 7 (09:42):
Here's three things to Know Today.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Brought to you by doctor Marty Nature's plend Number.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
One, the National Hurricane Center is keeping it keeping an
eye on a storm system in the Atlantic that could
develop into Tropical Storm Debbie, producing thunderstorms over Puerto Rico
and the Virgin Islands that could right in the US
as early as this weekend the eastern Gulf Coast. In fact,
the Governor of Florida has already declared a state of
(10:08):
emergency in fifty four counties because of Debbie.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Number two history being made at the Olympics in Paris
by Team USA. You know about some owned biles and
she's making history. But also Team USA is still leading
the medal count with over with thirty seven overall medals.
Katie Ledecki for swimming, she won silver yesterday. The USA
fencing team made history beating Italy yesterday first ever gold
(10:37):
medal in a.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
Team fencing event.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
While Team USA lots going on especially for USA and
number three the word is Tom Cruise being in Paris
for the Olympics. He's also a big part of the
closing ceremonies. In a mission impossible sort of way. He's
going to repel from the roof of the French National
Stadium in the closing ceremonies with the official flag, and
(11:00):
then they're going to cut to a video of something
he filmed already of him jumping out of a plane
over the Hollywood Sign in LA where the next Olympics
will be held in four years.
Speaker 7 (11:11):
You're in the note three things to know Today.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Judy's Top five entertainment stories.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Of the week, brought to you by Mattress Firm.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Number five, Jimmy Lovado set to make her directorial debut
for a documentary called Child Star. It's going to be
on Hulu September seventeenth, and it's about the highs and
lows of being a child and teen actor. But it's
not just her story. She knows a lot about it,
but she's interviewed Raven Simone, Christina Ricci, even Drew barrymore.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Oh oh, those are good lad.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Stars documentary on Hulu in September. Number four, we now
know that Marvel has spent some big money to get
Robert Downey Junior.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Back honestly, just one hundred people who want to kill me.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
Not as Iron Man, though this time I'll come back
as Doctor Doom as a villain in Avenger's Secret Wars
and Avengers dooms Day. He got a lot of perks
along with the eighty million or so jet travel, dedicated security,
and a trailer encampment on the movie on the set
of all the movies.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Oh yeah, and.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
He's honestly worth it.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Number three Celene Dion not only has the number one
documentary on Prime ever, she returned to performing at the
Paris Olympics opening ceremony the other night.
Speaker 4 (12:34):
And left no doubt that she is She's still got it.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Yeah, I mean I want a comeback.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
She looked great, she sounded fantastical. She doesn't look or
sound like someone who is battling a disease, which she is.
We learned three years ago that she's battling stiff person
syndrome number two. It's been announced who will replace Katie
Perry on American Idol as a judge, and it's Carrie Underwood.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Hey makes sense such it is she was the.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Fourth season winner, and she was a breakout star, and
she's never sat on the judges panels, she has done mentoring,
she's done performances on the finales. So she will join
Lionel Ritchie and Luke Bryan. Other people they considered Miley, Cyrus, Pink,
even Megan Trainer number one Snoop Dogg at the Olympics.
(13:26):
Man he is just the cheerleader for Team USA. He's
our unofficial mascot. They call him the ambassador of happiness
at the Olympics, and he's everywhere. Did you see that
he got in the pool and got a swim lesson
with Michael Phelps the other day?
Speaker 3 (13:39):
You see me and mp we go back like the
backstroke in p How does one get fast in zepool? Wingspan,
lung power you just described me.
Speaker 6 (13:49):
You said, ring span, lung power.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Definitely have great lung power to swimmer's body. Look at
our bodies are similar, Mike.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Plenty more Olympics to come, which means plenty more smith Snoop.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Johnny's top five entertainment stories of the weekend. Coming up next,
It's Grateful Friday.
Speaker 6 (14:07):
Murphy Salmon Jody's Grateful Friday.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Love hearing from you about the little in big things
going on in your life. You're grateful for we like
to hear about your life, so eight seven seven three
one zero for MSJ to share those with us. We
have lots rolling in. Also on Instagram and Facebook, Janine
says grateful for the Olympics and that it's Friday.
Speaker 4 (14:29):
Yeah, I love the Olympics.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
To Jeanine, I plan to catch up on some of
the things I missed during the week because life and
it's inspiring to me. It just really is. I gravitate
to certain sports, of course, which as we all do.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
It's positive, it.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Is, and I love being It's patriotic too, Team USA.
Tiffany sent this in. One little thing that I'm grateful
for is my daily face moisturizer.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
I understand that too, Tiffany.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
It's amazing. I love how it keeps me looking young.
One big thing is a danced medical technology. Earlier this year,
I had a near death experience with a rare medical
situation and was rushed to the er. I had to
go into immediate surgery. I don't know what percentage of
the population goes to immediate surgery, but that is so scary. Afterwards,
(15:18):
the surgeon told me how bad it was and said
that twenty years ago you likely would not have made it. Today,
I'm healthier than ever and I'm so grateful.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Tiffany.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
We want I would love to know what really happened
to you, and I also would like to know about
that moisturizer. Well, yes, the women share those things.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
They're both very positive stories.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
Yeah, you're death experience and your moisturizer.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
Let me just say this too.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
I know that you like to go to alt to beauty, Sam.
Let's not act like you don't. The thing about that
is for Tiffany, for me, for anybody. You find a
moisturizer or a product like that, it doesn't mean it's
your endgame. You know, you use it for a while,
you know, you get the benefits, and then maybe you
need a change as the seasons change or your skin changes.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
And then you find another one. You sing its praises too.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
You use stuff like that, does your body adapt to it?
So you have to change?
Speaker 4 (16:10):
I think so.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
I find that's true with shampoos and conditioners, and I
definitely play with a lot of different skincare as well.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
So I feel you.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Tiffany Kimberly says, I'm grateful for my family. That's her
big and the small cold air conditioning. I think that's
a big one too. Yeah, yes, all right, keep it coming.
We love hearing from you.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Greatful Friday, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider next.
Speaker 7 (16:36):
Trending now Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
To Dairy Queen today is justin Timberlake's DUI arraignment.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
So I fucket, Yes, the how is this going to
go down? Because he's busy on a European tour.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
He will join, he will appear, but virtually, of course,
to me, if you're jumping on virtually could be quick?
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Could you get five minutes off that you do have
to be involved?
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Agreed, I'm glad he has to appear. His attorney is
saying he was not intoxicated, and the attorney's like, we're
confident that this is all going to be dropped. Of
course you have to sort of, you know, I guess
present it that way with all confidence. The word is now.
He was arrested in sag Harbor in June. He was
(17:22):
driving erradically and he did not perform well on his
field sobriety test. He didn't go on with the full test.
The other ones he refused some of them. So we'll
see what happens confidence from the legal team. Of course,
this weekend on Sunday CBS Sunday Morning, it's a rare
sit down with Prince Harry and Megan Markle sitting together
(17:45):
for an interview about something near and dear to their hearts,
their anti cyberbullying and bullying initiatives. So they haven't sat
down together for an interview, I don't know since they
did that documentary for Netflix.
Speaker 6 (17:59):
Correct coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Of course, more Olympics this weekend to catch.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
But if you want the real inside track the athletes
to follow on social media, you know, one of the
cool things about the Olympics, and so much going on
at all times, you can't possibly keep up with all
of it. You can catch it at the end of
the day or maybe upcoming this weekend. Like I said, Murphy,
I want to catch.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
Up a lot of stuff.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
But you can follow your favorite athletes on social and
get there on social media platforms and get their take
on the day. And some of them are taking you
behind the scenes into the Olympic village and the food
that they love or that they hate and whatnot. So
I wanted to shout out to a couple of things
you might want to follow, They say British diver Tom
Daily on TikTok.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
He's the one who knits.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
You can follow Coke yayas you can follow Cocoa golf
tennis player and you know she's posting a lot.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
Some mom biles also cool. She posts quite a bit.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
I don't know how they handle the pressure of you know,
what they're doing live in front of people training forever
and then they also take a peek at their social
and they somehow or not, they don't let it bother them.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
Sometimes they clap back.
Speaker 5 (19:09):
The Pomel horse guy Steven. Yes, he's also a Rubik's
Cube expert.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
Right, he can do it like nine seconds.
Speaker 5 (19:15):
Yeah, he's posted that a few times.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
I wanted to tell you one thing that Jordan Childs
addressed in social media because a lot of people were
asking her about her nails. She wears her nails very long,
and she's doing all this stuff on the beam and
all this. She said, people always ask me about this.
They actually helped me these long nails with my technique.
It's how I make sure I don't break a nail.
Ha ha.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
She's so fantastic.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
I'm also Usa rugby player Alona mar She has always
been online on TikTok and all this taking you through
the village and all that. But body positivity because she
does not have a typical I guess you know what
some people would expect of an Olympian body. And I
love the way she's just addressed it all. She's like, hey, ladies, yeah,
(20:03):
I have a lot of cellulite and it's completely natural,
and I'm as in shape as anybody. Things like that.
So she's a really good one to follow, I think.
But it's Simon Biles also, just because for so many
of us it's so inspiring what she has done this year,
this time around. And you heard about the hair comments
that she was dealing with that. Yeah, she won gold,
(20:25):
but there were some trolls talking about her hair being.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
You know, frizzy and out of place.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
And I slipped back perfectly, and she says, I don't
care if my hair edges aren't smooth.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
I'm here to win Olympic gold.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Anyway, follow your faves, because you can follow your favorite
athletes too.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Jenny has three things to Know Today coming up next.
Speaker 7 (20:46):
Three Things to Know Today.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Brought to you by Doctor Marty Nature's blank.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Number one.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Time is running out for Vice President Kamala Harris to
select her running mate for the presidential election. The word
is from her campaign. They have met with six potential
running mates and contenders this week, some governors, a senator,
and the Transportation secretary. She is expected to make her
decision by Tuesday. But it does seem like some of
(21:12):
the big political news has been hitting us on Sundays
so years up. Number two was the water in the
Senne River in Paris really okay for those athletes to
jump in for the triathlon this week because they tested
it and tested it for sure, But what was it
really like?
Speaker 4 (21:28):
It didn't look great, did it well?
Speaker 1 (21:29):
One of the athletes said the river was kind of gross.
She said during the competition, she's a Belgian, you know, triathlete,
that she felt debris in the water while she was
doing her work and she saw things that you shouldn't
think about women's water polo today in France, but not
in the river. And number three, there is a kitten
(21:53):
up for adoption soon in Tennessee at this shelter. Have
you heard about it? A four eared kitten bound as
part of a litter in an abandoned box. They've named
him Audio. He's got large, normal ears, and then right
in front of those ear openings are backward facing small ears.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Yes, there's no sneaking up on him.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
The rescue is monitoring him for a few more weeks
until he'll be available for adoption.
Speaker 7 (22:18):
You're in the note three things to Know Today.
Speaker 6 (22:23):
Sam's got music news.
Speaker 4 (22:24):
Brought to you by Progressive.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
A busy week this week for Carrie Underwood. Of course, Jody,
you told us in the Hollywood Outsider that she is
going to be then the replacement for Katie Perry, an
American idol.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Can't judge between Lon and Ritchie and Luke Bryan.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
Yes, well, Monday, you know, she took part in that
Toby Keith tribute concert. Good So she's going to be
on later on this month on a twenty eighth, I
believe it is on NBC. They'll play the highlights back
for that. So that's what she did Monday. Today, she's
on Good Morning America for the Central Park. She's in
Central Park for the city summer concert series. Very busy there,
and I don't know if you caught this one. Earlier
(23:01):
this week, she announced that she's got more date. She's
added another twelve dates. I think it is to her
Vegas residency and these are all going to be next
year April May.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Dates and tickets from the sale.
Speaker 5 (23:10):
Now, if you wanted a resorts world And by the way,
he got me thinking, what was the song that she
did on American Idol that won her American Idol? And
I went and found it. Yeah, she and bo Bice
did it and she won oh Man.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Right after that she blew up, just like Simon cow
predicted she would.
Speaker 5 (23:34):
Moving on and speaking of busy guys, we got post Malone.
Speaker 6 (23:37):
I'm pretty good at breaking down.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
You know.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
August sixteenth, his album comes out a couple of weeks
f one trillion and Country out the Country album, and
he's got everybody on there, Leanie Wilson, he's got Dolly Parton,
he's got Tim McGraw well. He's also now been invited
by his friend Brad Paisley to play the Grand Ole Opry. Yeah,
so on the fourteenth, two days before the album comes out,
(24:01):
he's going to play the Grand Old Opry.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
But he won't be alone.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
He'll be up there on stage with Vince Gill, John,
Michael Montgomery, Laney Wilson, Brad Paisley in the.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
War and treaty goodness and welcome to country music and.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Everybody wanted to be a part of posts.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Yeah go big Time.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
And some good news about Sewn Mendez. Remember two years
ago he took a mental health break. He said he
couldn't go in a studio without having anxiety, he couldn't
get on stage. He canceled his tour altogether.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
I know I can see you.
Speaker 5 (24:31):
Well He's back, he says, I have a new album.
It's coming out October the eighteenth. I'm going to drop
two new songs on you next week on August eighth, eighth,
which is my birthday, by the way, his birthday my birthday.
So congratulations. Nice to see Sean coming back. Can't wait
to hear that music.
Speaker 7 (24:48):
Coming up with Murphy Salmon.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Jodi Jody has another Hollywood outsider coming up next though.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
The most popular food in the Olympic village, and so
much so that the athletes are almost fighting over it.
We've all had the if you're lucky enough, we've all
had the experience of experiencing and having a food somewhere
in the world and then never be being able to
get it. Again, and you always think of it. I mean,
we live in a world where almost everything you can
(25:14):
find you can have shipped to you.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
You could, but every once in a.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
While kind of like you go to a hotel and
they make a dessert a specific way and it's not
sold anywhere else.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
They stopped making it, and you're like, wait, you took
it off the menu. Why, or even more sad, someone
in your family cooked like a champion, like a gold
medal winner and is no longer in the family, or
didn't pass the recipe down.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
Yeah, that hurts.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
Well speaking, sorry, I didn't mean to bring the room down. Guys,
get your Grandma's on Fridays.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
So we were mentioning this earlier in the week about
the Olympic Village, and the head of the food for
the Olympic Village this time saying, look, I know McDonald's
was there, you know in Olympics past, and there's fast
food and there's pizza. But for in France, we want
it to be healthy for the athletes. So they brought
in these you know, top notch Michelin chefs and there's
(26:10):
all kinds of really healthy, good choices. However, some of
the athletes have complained and said, look, the chicken is
bland and rubbery, vegetables are unseasoned, and.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
I'm sure they're not doing any cream puffs. I mean,
come on the bag if you're going so healthy and
now left the athletes choose what they want to.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
There's some baked tofu that's really tough, and they're making
fun of it. However, there's one thing that the athletes
who've tried it cannot get enough of it. They're running
out of it. It's a double chocolate muffin. It's a
French double chocolate muffin. It sounds incredible, does it not.
It has about as many calories as a big mac.
(26:50):
But guess what these athletes, so what.
Speaker 4 (26:53):
Let them choose it.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
Some of them need the caloric boost before an event.
They know what they're doing. They treat their body like
a machine. And also some of them I remember some
interview years ago with an athlete who said, I haven't
had dessert in five years, because if you're training for
the Olympics, you don't do that. So after you get
that gold or that silver, or after you've competed and
(27:18):
you're you've already just you can you can have a
double muffin.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
Give me a double chocolate double muffin. Coming up next,
Jody has your Hollywood Outsider, The latest Buzz.
Speaker 6 (27:30):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider brought to you by Barry Queen.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
If you didn't get to read Britney spears memoir called
The Woman in Me.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
There's good news, that is, if you're really interested in
this story. Yeah, Universal has won the rights to The
Woman in Me for a big screen biopic.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
John Chu has been tapped to direct this Attached to
Wicked and in the Heights.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
Yeah, this book, this memoir sold two point five million
copies in hardcover and ebook and audiobook versions. She was
not the one to read it though, you know there was.
There were other authors involved. Throwing that out at your
Fame audio book. So the big question, yes, she probably
read her own book.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Yes, that one threw me for a minute.
Speaker 4 (28:18):
All right. The big question now, who will play Brittany?
Speaker 1 (28:21):
There's I mean, Jennifer Garner, all the A lot of
young actresses will be lining up to audition. Some are
already throwing this Williams, Lily Lily James is another one
to think about. I want to say Lily James also
played Pamela Anderson recently in one of those documentaries, and
the other part of it is like, how do you
(28:42):
end this, because you know Britney's life is not wrapped up.
I think on the credits you have to roll the
real Instagram dancing.
Speaker 4 (28:50):
You have to do that in the credit for that.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Correct more Olympics this weekend. In fact, the Olympics don't
wrap up until the twelfth of this month. That's one
thing that's us not just inspiring, but it's short lived.
You don't get it all the time.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
So jump on in.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
You know what I've been hearing. I've heard like three times.
It's not necessarily Olympics related, but it's August related. Is
that I can't tell you how many people have because
I think August happened in the middle of the week. Okay,
It's like that jars you to attention to Wait, summer,
it's almost over, it's almost school time, it's all those things.
It's weird how it just pivots so fast from July
(29:28):
to August. And everybody said the same thing. I was
watching the newscast this morning and the TV anchor is like,
I can't believe it's already.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
It's just well, august is, August and September are pivotal months.
They are it's a change and not only the weather hopefully,
but just a culture of I don't know, football, football,
it's a shane It's a turning of a corner in the.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
Vacation, the end of the breaks and all that.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
You know, Yes, it totally is.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
I the nerd in me loves it when the first
of the month is on a Monday.
Speaker 4 (29:59):
But it's you know, not yeah, it feel good.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
It's all orderly.
Speaker 4 (30:05):
Right, as opposed to this week.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
Okay, we had asked you speaking of the Olympics, we
had asked you, you know, what would you meddle in
if you if it was an Olympic sport, and we
mean anything that you find that you are really good at.
Catherine says, couponing, thrifting and mega deals. Kristen says online shopping.
(30:28):
It's another reason that the Olympics are special, honestly, because
you're watching the best in the world try to beat
their personal best, and not everyone can do it. It's
a very small percentage of the population who can do.
So what you're watching is greatness. You're watching greatness and.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
A lot of hard work going into it.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
The whole Simone Biles thing is that what you're watching
is nobody knows. You can't say this for sure, but
she's twenty seven years old. This is probably her last.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Things, I think, I mean, but this is sort of
like the rebound. I mean, she gets a second chance
of doing what she really wanted to do last time,
exactly
