Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Murphy Salmon Jody Weekend Replay podcast, twelve of
our favorite moments from this past week.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
I'm going to read you a thank you note.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
I'm going to read you the first line first, and
then i'll tell you who it's from.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Okay, Dear Jody and the Murph.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
I'm a huge fan of the handwritten thank you note,
and there are only a couple of rules. You know,
go ahead and do it as quickly as you can,
although if you're a year late it still counts. It
doesn't matter when, really, but do it as quickly as
you can, mention the gift itself specifically and how you
intend to use, and be genuine and sincere. Those are

(00:38):
really the only three rules for a thank you note
in life, for anything.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
So the note was more than just dear Jody in
the no, I'm going.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
To read the whole note to you, but I just
wanted to say that.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
I don't think I've ever been called the MRF before.

Speaker 5 (00:50):
I know.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
This is what's so funny.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
I'll take it.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
It's Edie's boyfriend. His name is Stuart. He is very funny.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Our youngest daughter, our youngest daughter, Phoebe her boyfriend's name
is Stuart and heriraduated high school in May, and so
this summer we got this thank you note for him,
and it is one of the best thank you notes
we've ever I've ever received. It's short, to the point,
it's funny. Are you ready saying you call you the
murfh at home?

Speaker 2 (01:13):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:15):
I think that's written comedy? Is that it is?

Speaker 5 (01:18):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:18):
I wonder she's always laughing around Stu Stuart, It says,
Dear Jody and the Murph.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Do you want to know what I gave first? You
understand I gave We gave him two things to read.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Okay, fine, thank you for the snack box and tire inflator.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Not sure related items I show you.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
I wanted to give him a big crave box for
his dorm. He's going to college soon.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
And I wanted to give him a later.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
It's something practical, so I gave one, and Murphy gave one.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
It's the kind you plug into your car, you know,
if you're going to be and he's driving away for
a long distance to college, why not have that in
the car in case of a flat.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Dear Jody in the Murph, thank you for the snack
box and tire inflator exclamation point. I'm sure if the
snack box was meant for college, but I thoroughly enjoyed
it during the first weeks of summer.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
He ate the whole thing already.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Hopefully I won't need to tire inflator anytime soon, but
when I do, I'll be in your debt. Many thanks, Stuart. PS.
Your gifts were the best wrapped Stuart, and he included
something I did not expect, a picture, a print printed
photo of he and Phoebe at prom. I mean, Stuart,

(02:30):
you did it all right, fantastic And I think maybe
just because he ate his whole crave box already, he
might be getting another one from us. Do you think
that people live up to their names sometimes?

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Yes, meaning titles or.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Not titles Murphy, manager Murphy. No, what do you mean
name like the name Murphy? Do you, over your lifetime
sort of become Murphy? What about you, Sam?

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I think you're very much of Sam.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
I don't know what that means.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
I'm gonna tell you what I mean. It's okay.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
There is a save your answer because I know I
asked you and you want to say it.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Sam.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
There's a new study that shows that we people the
longer you live, as you get older, you sort of
live up to the name you were born into, and
even in appearance, especially in a parance, like.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
You know somebody named Charles, is he actamanka Charles? Or
is he a chuck? You know?

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Right?

Speaker 4 (03:23):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (03:24):
So basically it would be a stereotype on the name.
That's sort of like that.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Here's what they did, though this is not just a
guest somebody didn't publish this from a guest or a hunch.
They did research where children were asked to match faces
with names of adults, and they were really very accurate,
like a picture of Sam and a picture of Murphy
and they named it right, okay.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
And then but when.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Matching kids to their names, children had a super hard
time because they haven't had the lifelong time to fit
into their name and grow into it.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
You know.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
It's kind of like a self fulfilling proper prophecy.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah, I just didn't know, because like Murphy is a
Murphy's Law thing? Is that what that means?

Speaker 4 (04:11):
I mean?

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Or is Murphy like an Irish thing? If I didn't
have if I had red hair, what I actually looked
more like a Murphy than I really am ah.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Yes, if you had that accent. Oh yeah, that's true Sam.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
I don't know if that's the right action.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Oh how often in life can you name someone who
does not fit their name?

Speaker 4 (04:27):
But you just said, yeah, you look like a Sam.
So what is a Sam?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Easy?

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Well, a fun guy, A fun guy who's dependable but fun.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
That's a same.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
It's I mean, I.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Think Sam fits you.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
I can't really put my finger on why, but most
often with an adult, their name fits them. So it's
almost like the person becomes Sam became Sam.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Just Jody look like a Jody to you, Sam, I.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Answer, but probably with a why stop.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
When we've been away? Our favorite thing to do? In fact,
we do it first thing Monday. Check the twenty four
hour voicemail eight seven seven three one zero four msj.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Never miss a call. Murphy Salm and Jody twenty four
hour voicemail.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
Hey Murphy Salmon, Jody. I just wanted to let you
know that I enjoy listening to you every morning. And
also you're talking about wasps, and I had heard that
wasps and my dabbers build nests around where spiders are
prevalent because it'll help their babies eat when they come out,
and they can eat. And if you I do this now,

(05:48):
broom the spider webs off of your eves and in
your sheds, you will have a lot less wasp nests.
Made sense to me. I do it. I do have
a lot less cost nest. Every once in a while
I still find one, though, Love you guys.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
That's a great and I didn't think about that. And
you know what, Jody, the ones that have been popping
up in our car port are near spider wubs.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
I didn't know yet spiders too, But okay, thanks for
letting me know that. I'm you know, I love the
way she said wasps nest because it's one of those
words you.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Have to slow down.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Wasp. Yes, you're right.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
When Taylor was little and she'd scream and cry about wasp,
it was wasted.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
She would say.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Was she was truly scared. All right, let's grab another one.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
Speaking of wasp, I was noticing them building a nest
outside my window, so I reached out with the broomstick
behind the screen, knocked it down, and the wasp flew
out of it. Followed this broomstick in my arm, right
up to my face. And stung me in the face.

(06:58):
Not a pleasant experience.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Yeah, not a good idea to be hitting it with
a broomstick. But before you spray it, I guess.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
You know, I write that down. Don't pull Wow. I
mean it's it's it's a good reminders.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
It sounds like a decent idea to try to knock
it down from inside with no.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
No, no, you don't do that until you kill them.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Yeah, until they're dead.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Okay, see I have no yeah, Okay.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
That's that's where the quake comes from, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Didn't your brother Murphy get stung on the face by
a wasp once and his face was completely swollen.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
My mother did too. Yeah, I did that as a kid.
I was reaching for we were playing baseball in the
front yard and it got stuck in a tree. I
reached up to grab the ball and I grabbed a wasp.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Sam's got Music News, brought to you by Progressive.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Earlier this year, we were treated to the Taylor Swift
concert film Aristour and Beyonce's concert film, both of them
teaming up with AMC to release those. Well. AMC is like,
hey man, this is working. We're making big bucks here.
Let's team up with somebody else. So coming out next
month it is Usher Rendezvous in Paris.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yes, God, I know like five girlfriends right now who
go with me to see that right now?

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Okay, September twelfth through the fifteenth, those are the only
gates dates for it now. But remember, like Taylor Swift,
they extent they kept extending that one.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
I want to raise my hand for it.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
This is a great option for a family who can't
afford a concert ticket.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yeah, like I didn't. I'm not seen the Eras tour.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
And the highlight for this song little trailer that the
Usher released, the dancing itself. Oh unbelievable. Stop it, No,
I can't do ticket start go on sale next Tuesday.
This was filmed when he was in Paris. He had
an eight date residency in Paris last year and that's
when they filmed everything and put it all together. And
yes it does have all the big hits of course.

(08:54):
Earlier this week on Monday, bunch of country artists got
together for a Toby Keith tribute show and they all
sang their favorite Toby song. We had Carrie Underwood there,
Jelly Roll, Luke, Bryan, Eeric Church, Brandley, Gilbert a whole
lot more. They recorded this and they're gonna show it
on NBC at the end of August. August twenty eighth.

(09:14):
It's called Toby Keith American Icon. What was interesting about
it is they debuted Toby Keith's last recording session. They
showed a little video of it and they played the
song that he was singing. It was a cover of
Joe Diffy's Ships that Don't Come In.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Sounds really good, fantastic, honestly.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Yeah, So look for that one NBC August twenty eighth,
and you Fleetwood mac fans. They are releasing a brand
new album, but it's a brand new album of their
Mirage tour in nineteen eighty two. It's a live Yeah
I Don't Love live album. Twenty two songs includes this song, here,
Gypsy and hold Me. It was from their Mirage album,

(09:57):
both of those songs coming from it. Tember twentieth. It
comes out three LPs or two CDs, twenty two tracks
including Don't Stop and Land Slidenrihanna, and Go Your Own Way,
What You kind Of Get? All the ones, Yeah, all
the hits.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Yesterday, I got a picture text to me of the
cutest three little dogs and so our oldest daughter, Taylor
works at a doggie daycare now.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
And she sent me this. It's so cute. It says
say hi to Hershey, Oreo and Axel.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Wha.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
It's like, I'm learning so much through Taylor working this
new job because she comes home and she's, you know,
back home for us for a little while. And so
she's telling First of all, when she walks in the
door having been there for six to eight hours, our
dogs go nuts because she smells like one hundred dogs.
And so Champ especially is all over Taylor right now.

(10:49):
But she sends me these pictures of these of all
the dogs, and she shares with me little videos of
her favorite, you know, and his his name is Bach.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
So I get her, she I get Oreo, but is
actual a redheaded dog. What I think guns and roads.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Axel is a bulldog.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
It looks like.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
So Number one, I love the learning all the names
of the patches. It gives you ideas. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
But the other thing is that she's learning so much
and I wanted to pass it along for all the
dog lovers. You know, dogs are it's always it's all
about energy. It's not about size.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Correct.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Well, if you have a small dog.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
You know that because small dogs think they're big and
big dogs think they're small. But so, she was working
the toy dog room again the other day, which is
exactly what it sounds like. She said, it's the happiest
place you ever walk into because they're all so excited.
I guess anytime you walk into any of the rooms,
they all run to you.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
She said.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
It's the greatest feeling when ten small dogs run to
you and just want to smell you and lick you
and say hi.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
She hasn't worked the romper room yet, and she's nervous
about it.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
It's okay, the roper room again.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
Bigger dogs who are high energy, like be Ruddy Baby,
the highest energy, and there none of them are toy
But anyway, she was in the toy dog room, she said,
and it's so funny because there's one dog in there
that's medium sized and the rest are all small.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
But the you know, the manager of the.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Facility decided to let that medium sized dog be in
there because the temperament matches the toy dog. Oh okay,
and it's not maybe not litter mate, but the dog
that it also lives with is in that room and
as a toy dog. And so this timid, middle sized dog,
medium sized dog feels, you know, more comfortable therefore less

(12:42):
anxious in the toy dog room.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Isn't that special and cute?

Speaker 1 (12:46):
It's like a thunderjacket, well, not exactly a thunder poodle.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
If you think that, if you would tend to think
that food would be better in a Paris Olympics village,
you're right, all right. I want to take you to
the Olympics village. As far as food goes, take you
back a little ways. McDonald's provided a lot, like half,
a little less than half of the food all meals
at the London Olympics.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
The word is.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
In Beijing, you saw in Bolt allegedly ate like a
thousand chicken nuggets in the two weeks he was there
because it was his favorite thing and he would hit
it every day. Yeah, I'm thinking, man, he burned those
off easily. Yeah, in ten seconds exactly. The word is though,
So for the Paris Olympics, the head of the Olympic village,

(13:35):
the person in charge said, you know what, no fast food. Oh,
we're offering only nutritious meals. These are athletes and that's
what they wanted. To do, and they brought in Michelin chefs.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
Oh to prepareancy.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Apparently the food is definitely a notch above.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
I mean, I guess if you sort of want a
counter service situation, you can have it, but you can
also have highly nutritious things.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Oh, I can't find a royale with trees there.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
And hopefully you're not going to have a few s
cargo before a pole vault.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Look, these athletes and their trainers know what they should
and should not when you have spent your life every
moment not eating what you want for years probably And
actually the celebration, the celebratory food will happen after the game.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Exactly, it will. Yeah, I mean, even if they put
a McDonald's there, you're.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Not going to You're not going to hit that until
later or if at all. The word is also no alcohol.
Alcohol is banned in the village, even French wine. No
sneaking out, either to get like a shake at midnight
or anything like that. Athletes have to stay in the
village for five days before their event, and I think
that's really smart and for their own good. You do

(14:44):
know that The other night during the opening ceremonies, which
was it was a long thing. There were a lot
of famous you at Team USA athletes that you're looking
for and you're like, why is some own Biles not there?
And where's Katie Lidecki and all all that. Everybody's asking
those questions. The word is, if they had attended, they
would have been on their feet for like six hours.

(15:06):
It's a long it's a hard, long commitment to get there,
be there, and you don't want to peace out and
leave early. So if your favorite athlete wasn't there, it's
probably because they were competing. And follow us on Instagram,
Facebook and YouTube. Thank you for all of the birthday
love for Murphy. Yesterday we shared the picture of you

(15:28):
on the seade and Happy Murph Day.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
You know what, I wish I had been riding the
Seado again yesterday. That's some of the most fun I've
had in a long time because I don't get out
and play enough that way, but I don't play that way.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
After we you got to ride that drive it whatever
you call it on vacation, I was like, he's going
to buy one of those and.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
It's going to be in our carports.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
So here's the thing on that. It was a lot
of fun to play with and answer, so how much
is one of these? And then when I found out,
I'm like, well, I'll just borrow them in the future
or rent. Yeah that's true too.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
And weren't you sore after being on it?

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Yeah, it's like you're holding your body in more tense
positions than you're used to.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Everybody that I talked to knew that. Apparently I didn't
even think about that, but like, oh, well you're shore
the next day. Yeah, how'd you know it's that way?

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:15):
You could barely carry it every down the stairs.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
It takes every muscle in your body to keep the
balance and maintain and the speed, especially when you're hitting bump.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Well, based on that picture that we shared yesterday on
Instagram Facebook, Molly said, have a wonderful, amazing birthday Merph.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Thank you, Molly.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
It was be careful on that thing. You were actually
really good on it. I was super impressed you didn't
wipe out once.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
No, I got up to fifty five mile an hour.
Yeah wow.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Oh yeah, I'm talking about birthday stime.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
But if I started to feel like I couldn't, I
would throttle back.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
I mean I learned, like okay, Also from our Facebook messages.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Jody sent this in regarding beta fish.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
The new beta fish who's living at home with us
because Phoebe brought him from college.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Do you remember his Name's.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
Am mister uncle something or other.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Uncle fishman, very close, Uncle fishman. Jody sent this, Hi, guys,
your beta fish will flare up if you put a
mirror in front of him. We had one at work
for about five years. He will also blow a bubble
nest if he's really content. Oh, very interesting fishes.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
Okay, we'll have to look for the bubble nest. Sam
was the one that talked about the flare ups, I
mean of the fish.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Pills for that well. We also got a text at
eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ from Melanie.
How about betas? She says, yeah, betas flare when they
see another beta. It's beautiful and it is I mean,
they are like peacocks. And she says she also puts
a mirror in the tank. When it sees itself, it flares.
They don't gets said when the mirror goes away or
is it and they fly?

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Are they flaring like a fight or just like they're
fighting fish?

Speaker 4 (17:51):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Okay, So it's probably stressful for them to flare. AI
at work is a thing. It's here to stay. Artificial
intelligence in every industry is coming, and the whole goal
and point is for it to make your work, our
lives easier.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Agreed, that's what it's supposed to do in theory.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Yes, yeah, yes, right now though we're in the ramp
up time. Murphy's always like it's been around forever, and
maybe it has, but now it's in our face right.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Well, the latest advancements have made it more intelligent, the
ability for it to learn, but it's still not It'll
still misspell words, it'll still choose the wrong word, it
doesn't always get context. I think it's pretty helpful, but
you know what's weird about so like even the latest
update on my Android phone, you know it wants to
use AI for all my messaging to improve my out

(18:45):
no tell other people or whatever. Sure, but the thing is,
I don't know when they'll break out of this phase
where everything you can tell has been written by AI.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
That drives me.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
There's all curtains.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
There's a certain rhythm that AI has that's the same
even if I get you know, notes from from co
workers and like they didn't write this.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
Before I do three things to know today for you,
I'm reading stories, it's like, is this person? No, this
is not a person like you can tell it's not
written by a human. You can tell it's bought information.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
All the summaries like on Amazon reviews, those.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Do. When I'm reading your Facebook and Instagram comments, now,
it's giving you a summary of if they're similar.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
It's a summary. Everyone's commenting on Sam Flaff.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
It's like, hey, Sam, black Life, I love the red
lipstick Jodie anyway. So the word is as with when
anything changes and our time and our culture society, which
AI is changing things right now today, it's being studied,
there are surveys going on. So does it make our
lives easier right now?

Speaker 5 (19:52):
No?

Speaker 2 (19:53):
It actually is creating more stress.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
We spend too much time at work sort of correcting
the weird things that chat box bots come up with.
We are taking it's taking more time for us to
learn how to use programs at work. And because of that,
the word is and I hate it because I know
it's real. People are feeling more burnout at work because
of the AI.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
To me, it's like it'll change it, It'll get better.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
You know what you do you punch into AI. How
to deal with burnout or.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
How to deal with a I If it's new and
you can eat it, Sam's found it.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Here's the food, Dude, brought to you by Famous Footwear.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
McDonald's is getting ready to start testing a burger that
is bigger than the Big Mac. O sad investor meetings.
At the end of last year, they kind of mentioned
that they were working on something big, but now they've said, yes,
it is coming. We're testing it out somewhere this year.
They won't say where, name the big Arch.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Okay, so this is going to have four pieces of bread.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
No, it's not The funny thing about it is. Looking
at a picture of it, it looks like a big Mac.
So maybe the meat will be bigger, but it's you know,
because the Big NANGI saw. Okay this, here's the song.
Two beef patties, melting cheese, crispy toppings and a tangy
new sauce.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Crispy toppings is different.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
And maybe they're doing two of the quarter pounders instead
of just two burgers.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Yeah, right, there you go, Murphy.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
I was about to say, because the Big Mac, you know,
it seems like it sounds.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Super big, but it's the regular burger.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Yeah, because if they come up with another size, it
means they're going to have to supply all that. So
just use something they already got.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
That's what I would do, or come up with something
they call the Mac Mac No the Major Mac, Major Mac.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
I love to name things, you know.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
Well, Jody always wants the Mini Max too. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
I don't know why. I just don't understand this corporation
can't do it.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
I got another pumpkin drop coming your way. August twenty
seventh is the date for the pumpkin smoothies. It's Smoothie King.
Oh yeah, five different ones, power meal, slimon, trim, vegan.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
I had one of those last year and it was
very good.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
Pumpkin is actually a super food. And I'm not just
saying that, you know, like it's awesome. Like it's like
it's a poem. If you look up super foods with
all the big nutrients, pumpkin is one. We just sugar
it up.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Normally in the say pumpkin spice is actual pumpkin.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
Costco has gotten back apparently they sold these out right away.
A new Orange Dreamsickle cheesecake that they're selling. They went
like hotcakes. I will have to say, no, twelve inches
and five pounds.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
You know why more inches and more pounds.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
As we wrap things up here, Tyson is bringing some
new chicken nuggets, a new shaped chicken nuggets to the market.
Tyson being based in Arkansas, so to honor that they
have new razorback nuggets. Okay, in the shape of I mean,
think of the tailgating you can have with that.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
True, that is hysterical. Well done, Tyson.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
I don't know that they'll sell anywhere else in the country, but.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Well, next thing you know, they'll start carving up shapes
of mascots everywhere.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Go.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
Jody's Top five entertainment stories.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Of the Week, brought to you by Mattress Firm.

Speaker 5 (23:02):
Number five.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
Dimmy Lovado set to make her directorial debut for a
documentary called child Star.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
It's gonna be on Hulu.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
September seventeenth, and it's about the highs and lows of
being a child and teen actor.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
But it's not just her story.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
She knows a lot about it, but she's interviewed Raven Simone,
Christina Ricci, even Drew Barrymore.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Oh those are good yead Stars.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Documentary on Hulu in September. Number four, We now know
that Marvel has spent some big money to get Robert
Downey Junior back.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
Honestly, just one hundred people who want to come.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
Me, not as Iron Man, though this time he'll come
back as Doctor Doom, as a villain in Avenger's Secret
Wars and Avengers Dooms Day. He got a lot of
perks along with the eighty million or so jet travel,
dedicated security, and a trailer encampment on the movie on
the set of all the movies.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Oh yeah, yeah, and.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
He's honestly worth it.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
Number three.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Celine Dion not only has the number one documentary on
Prime ever, she returned to performing at the Paris Olympics
opening ceremony the other night and left no doubt that
she is She's still got it.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
I mean, what a comeback.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
She looked great, she sounded fantastical. She doesn't look or
sound like someone who is battling a disease, which she is.
We learned three years ago that she's battling stiff person syndrome.
Number two, it's been announced who will replace Katie Perry
on American Idol as a judge, and it's Carrie Underwood.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Hey makes sense.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
Such it is.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
She was the fourth season winner, and she was a
breakout star.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
And she's never sat on the judges panel.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
She has done mentoring, she's done performances on the finales.
So she will join Lionel Ritchie and Brian other people
they considered Miley, Cyrus, Pink, even Megan trainer number one
Snoop Dog at the Olympics. Man he is just the
cheerleader for Team USA. He's our unofficial mascot. They call
him the ambassador of happiness at the Olympics, and he's everywhere.

(25:17):
Did you see that he got in the pool and
got a swim lesson with Michael Phelps the other day?

Speaker 7 (25:22):
You see me and in p we go back like
the backstroke in pe. How does one get fast in zepool?

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Wingspan, lung power.

Speaker 7 (25:30):
You just described me. You said, ring span, lung power.
Pract definitely have great lung power to swimmer body. Look
at bodies are similar, Mike.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Plenty more Olympics to come, which means plenty more Snoop.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
Johnny's Top five entertainment stories of the week.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
Still traveling, taking the show on the road a bit,
but all new shows anyway, So here we are.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
Murphy.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
When we do get back home and settled whenever, that
would be just life. You need to get get busy
in life though, but we'll have work. I want to
go see the movie Twisters, and if you can't make it,
you know, I might.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Take I think that's the one. You know again, if
it's one to scene in the theater, that would be one.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Correct.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
It's one of the biggest movies in the country right now.
It's number two, right behind Deadpool and Wolverine.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
A soundtrack, huge soundtrack. Okay.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
So I bring it up because you know, when you
go see a movie that's set in within a certain industry,
they say that doctors have trouble watching medical movies because
of the things they got wrong.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Hollywood has to take liberties in the name of entertainment.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
I have friends who work in you know, hospitals who
cannot watch you know, Gray's Anatomy that's not real okay anyway,
just because of the terminology that the things that they do.
But so for as far as the movie Twisters go,
the word is meteorologists from across the country. Some of
them have even spoken out, like a Texas A and

(27:02):
M meteorologist says, they do a really good job in
this movie of including real terminology that's used when discussing
severe storms. The movie they praise it for, you know,
making storm chasing not look just cool the way Hollywood does,
but dangerous and.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Cool and all that stuff is dangerous.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
When the first Twister movie came out in what was
it ninety six anyway, that's when that movie, that first
one came out, they say that those departments of meteorology
across the country at universities, they got a boost in
kids enrolling. It makes sense, yeah, and they're expecting that
this time now too.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
I've always had that armchair fascination with weather, you know
what I mean? Yeah, not enough to go get my
meteorological certification.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
But do you know the other day, Murphy, here's a
little something you don't know. When we were moving Phoebe
back into the house and there was a storm coming
and we were getting the boxes in, you went back
outside and stood in the driveway with your hands on
your hips looking.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
At the sky.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
Phoebe said, he's doing that dad thing. He stands out
there and looks at the weather. That's yeah, she meant,
all dads do that, not just you we've all had
the if you're lucky enough, we've all had the experience
of experiencing and having a food somewhere in the world
and then never be being able to get it again,

(28:23):
and you always think of it. I mean, we live
in a world where almost everything you can find you
can have shipped to you.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
You could, but every once in a while kind.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
Of like you go to a hotel and they make
a dessert a specific way and it's not sold anywhere else.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
They stopped making it, and you're like, wait, you took
it off the menu. Whin Or even more sad, someone
in your family cooked like a champion, like a gold
medal winner and is no longer in the family, or
didn't pass the recipe down.

Speaker 4 (28:52):
Yeah, that hurts.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Well speaking, Sorry, I didn't mean to bring the room now, guys,
get your Grandma's on Friday.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
Thanks.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
So we were mentioning this earlier in the week about
the Olympic village, and the head of the food for
the Olympic Village this time saying, look, I know McDonald's
was there, you know in Olympics past, and there's fast
food and there's pizza, but for in France, we want
it to be healthy for the athletes.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
So they brought in these you.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Know, top notch Michelin chefs and there's all kinds of
really healthy, good choices. However, some of the athletes have
complained and said, look, the chicken is bland and rubbery,
vegetables are unseasoned, and I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
They're not doing any cream puffs. I mean, come on,
if you're going so healthy and now, let the athletes
choose what they want to.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
There's some baked tofu that's really tough, and they're making
fun of it. However, there's one thing that the athletes
who've tried it cannot get enough of it. They're running
out of it. It's a double chocolate muffin. It's a
French double chocolate muffin. It sounds incredible, does it not.
It has about as many calories as a big mac.

(30:04):
But guess what these athletes, so what.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
Let them choose it.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
Yes, some of them need the caloric boost before an event.
They know what they're doing. They treat their body like
a machine. And also some of them I remember some
interview years ago with an athlete who said, I haven't
had dessert in five years, because if.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
You're training for the Olympics. You don't do that.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
So after you get that gold or that silver, or
after you've competed and you're you've already just you can
you can have a double muffin.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
Give me a double chocolate double muffin.
