Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's a big day in our family because Taylor, our
oldest daughter. It's her birthday today. Happy birthday, Tay, baby,
Tay as I used to call you, the kid that
made us parents. And what's interesting is I'm gonna do
this happy birthday and rolling into the keep the wow
for today. My wow is that she's living with us now.

(00:22):
She graduated and she's moved back home to figure out
her gap year, to figure out her grad school and
all of that, and she's working. But it's been a
bit of a while to watch her begin adulting. And
I say that because anybody who's in that place, you're
in a pivotal place in your life.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Maybe you feel a little lost.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
You don't know what the next step is, and all
the next steps seem very.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Daunting.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
You know, it's adulting does not happen overnight. Nobody who's
an adult that you look up to became that way overnight.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
It does not happen that way.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
And it's beautiful when you watch someone start adulting in steps.
When I say this, I'm going to give you one
little story is that she's been living with us, what
for two weeks now, it's brand new, and you know,
I go to bed first. At home, I'm like, Mama's out,
I'm going to bed. Good night everybody, And I crawl
into the bed.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Well.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
One of the first nights, I expected her and Phoebe
to be up late watching horror movies, doing what they do,
and she came in there to hug me good night,
and she says, I'm going to bed too, And I
was like, what, what's wrong, right, and she said, yeah,
I have to work in the morning.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
And I was like, oh, you're adulting now, and that's
one little step.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
And I haven't had that conversation with her because I
didn't want to point it out. Oh you know, I
didn't want to. I don't want to pick at her
about it. But it's just nice to watch, Yeah, little
things like that.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
How about Phoebe, she's doing the same thing.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
She's still i mean, second year of college, she's still
in full on school mode.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
You know, yeah, she does.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
She's actually she really buttoned up this summer and took
some summer classes and she did really well. So that's
a bit of adulting. But it was just so nice
to watch that. Already.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
It is a you've seen moments of little stress too.
That anybody goes through that transition time. I mean, look,
when you've been in school, whether it's a solid twelve
years out of high school or sixteen years whatever, it
is that you start to transition into you know, the workforce,
you feel loss. It's like a different world altogether. Right,
You've had structure given to you before, and now you're
suddenly responsible for that structure yourself.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Create it a hope that you know, to create it
for yourself. All right, So happy twenty third.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Tay Coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
At six point fifty. Jody has three things to note today.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Coming up next, Terry on our Facebook page has the
only thing that helped clear up her daughter's psoriasis.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Texter call us eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Going to jump into some of these comments talking about
summer sun and the heat and the fact that one
of the reasons is that a lot of us look
forward to fall is because we.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Just want the change of season.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
We want to It's not all it's to me, it's
like there's football, there's holidays, but it's also that feeling
of oh, finally a bit of relief.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Yeah, I get almost as frisky as the dogs run
around the yard too.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
You're running circles in the yard looking for a place
to anyway.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Okay, look, ok, we were talking about this summer how
much I respect the sun, because even when I reapply
and wear hats and don't stay out in it, I
burned so easily. And this year after our vacation, Murphy,
I know I was dehydrated. I felt so bad for
days after, with no explanation except that I had been

(03:45):
in the sun more than I normally would have. Terry says,
exposure to the sun or even a tanning bed is
the only thing that helps clear up some of my
daughter's psoriasis.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Isn't that crazy?

Speaker 1 (03:59):
So it's like we're sitting here saying, protect yourself, and
but there's also benefits to son.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
We all know that moderation. I mean it's vitamin D, right,
that's the source. So in yeah, supposedly fifteen minutes of
exposure to the sun every day is actually good for you.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Now you do need it, And I've always been sort
of vitamin D deficient.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Haven't recently learned.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Help act me too? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Does it?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
For some reason? I remember that when I had bad
acting as a child. That was like the sun helped.
Did your mom say, go outside, look at you.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
You know I would believe it.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Okay, Brenda sent this regarding son and how I try
to limit completely.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
I so agree.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
This is when Brenda went swimming with my family yesterday.
Could barely make it until lunchtime before it felt like
my eyelids were even sunburned. Oh Son, I respect and
possibly fear you big hugs. Love the show, Brenda. I've
had my eye lids sunburned that time that I burned
in the beach chair. You put an umbrella over me,

(04:57):
and then I fell asleep, and then the sun moved, moved,
and parts of me burned.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
One of them was the eyelids. You remember that.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
I don't remember your eyelids burned.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I couldn't wear makeup for weeks.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Go ahead, Murphy, but you're still beautiful.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Coming up next, your Hollywood Outsider, Jody's Hollywood Outsider, brought
to you by Dairy Queen.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
At this time, we're not far away from Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice,
which is a straight up sequel to the original movie Beetlejuice.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
This is the trailer.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
The Juice is loose.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
So Michael Keaton.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
And you would expect him and one on a rider
and everyone involved with this movie to be promoting it
right now. But sitting down for a regular interview type interview,
Michael Keaton along with Justin Threw, Michael Keaton is Beetlejuice again.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Justin Threw, you guys know who he is, right. He
was married.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
He was married to Jennifer Aniston, and he's great actor
in his own right. He's in this movie. In this movie,
he plays lydyus fiance. Okay, oh yay, he plays a
character named Rory. So they were both just sitting down
kicking it talking about Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, and the word is,
according to Michael Keaton, you're gonna love it because it's
a stronger story. The original movie got us with its

(06:20):
quirkiness and its visuals, but this is a stronger story,
but with all those crazy good visuals as well. Okay,
Justin Thureau said, it's one hundred percent like someone opening
the front of Tim Burton's.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Head and you're getting to see all of it. So yay. Beetlejuice.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
Beetlejuice in theaters September sixth.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Coming up next, Sam has music News.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Let you know who's forcing MTV to move the date
of their VMAs.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Sam's got music News, brought to you by Progressive.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
The MTV VMA's Video Music Awards were scheduled for September
the tenth, but they have had to move those. September
the tenth is the presidential debate. Oh correct it, So
you know you're not going to be watching MTV with
that going on, So they moved him to the eleventh.
And we do have our first list of people that
are going to be performing, including Sabrina Carpenter, Yes, she's

(07:15):
up for six awards, Camilic Bayo, Glorup, Glorilla, and a
couple others are performing as well. That's the shortlist so far.
I'm sure as we get closer they'll put Taylor Swift
on there.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Well, she's up for a lot.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Yeah, she's up for the most awards, I think, tim.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Yeah, And I was gonna say there are a lot.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Of people who who would want to watch that instead
of the debate, but it's not a good idea to
go up against.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
And by the way, this is the fortieth year of
the MTV v and as is it really Yeah, pretty
cool Carrie Underwood. I don't know if you saw what
she did this past Sunday, but she was up at
the Altar Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee. She
was singing with the worship group there. But here's a
song that's from the church.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Wow, she let him in the song.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
It's Goodness of God is the name of the song.
If you remember, she put up My Savior that the
Gospel Song project a couple of years ago. She went
Grammy for it, and they're saying that she might be
working on another one of those because My Savior was
all I don't want to say cover versions, but it
was cover versions and standard hymns. She has never had
a you know, original gospel album, so they're saying she might.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I think that's cool that she did old heymns because
who else is doing that?

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Excuse me? Is that Carrie Underwood up there? Sure is?
And she's going to Idol and Janet Jackson. Here's her
workout regimen if you're looking for one. She says to
get in shape for her tours, she jumps on a
trampoline while singing.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
That's smart.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Yeah, I've never thought of that. But it's like, yeah,
that'll get you ready for running around the stage for
two hours.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
It's supposed to be really good for you, really good
for your lungs.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Singing on a trampoline just.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
To jump on all she sings and jumps, and she
says she got the idea from Destiny's Child because apparently
back in the day they used to run on treadmills
and sing to get in shape for the concerts.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Taylor Swift does the same or do the same for Eras.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Yeah, Jody has three things to Know Today Coming up next.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Three Things to.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Know Today brought to you by Doctor Marty Natriu's Blame
Number one.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Taylor Swift's Eras tour is back on track after authorities
thwarted that attack on her shows in Vienna.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
A lot of Swifties expected to gather.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
In London's Wimbley Stadium starting tomorrow and it's like five
shows and so no threats to stop the concerts there, but.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
There are new security.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
You cannot gather outside and you can't even hang around
if you don't have a ticket. They're just going to
be more security is beefed up, so some new rules
you basically can't Tellgate. Number two, the new CEO of
Starbucks is the CEO of Chipotle, and so both companies
have faced some problems, declining service quality according to customers

(10:08):
and rising prices according to facts. And so the word
is though Chipotle had been turned around with their stock
going up, so they're hoping that he can do the
same for Starbucks. His name is Brian Nickel. And number three,
gas prices keep falling. Yeah, so the average, the national
average is three point forty nine a gallon.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
That's eight cents less than a month ago.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
And it's supposed to keep going down because at the
end of the summer that's when the big oil companies
usually cut the price of fuel.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
You're up to day three Things to Know today.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
If you've ever had that situation where you can't seem
to unsubscribe for something, I hope you know, hope you
know about the story that's circulating. It's been coming for
months from the government. We mentioned it in Three Things
to Know, I think yesterday about it's it's in effect now.
It's an initiative called Time is Money. That's what they're

(11:05):
calling it.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Come on, tim oh oh, rolling out.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
New regulations to all kinds of industries. Uh, if it
takes you only two clicks to subscribe to something, then
the on the backside, they're going to regulate that it
only it can only take you two clicks to unsubscribe.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
I love that idea, and.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
It's just that seems like the most simple thing I've
ever heard to come out of Washing. Well.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Do you remember a couple of years ago I was
trying to unsubscribe to the Wall Street Journal. Actually, and
it's a great publication, so this is not I'm not
bad mouthing them, but here's what happened. It was it
was probably one click to subscribe, and it was like
six months for free, and you get the digital version.
I'm like, yeah, I just I'll get both the paper
and the digital version. I probably should have just gone digital. Yeah,
but there was nowhere on the website to unsubscribe. And

(11:54):
when you got on the phone to unsubscribe, they said, well,
look how about we give you another chance. We'll give
you another six months free hard And of course I'm
like fine.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
I hate that.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
When you are your mind has changed against what you
had originally gone in for.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Yeah, kills me.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
And uh. And eventually, I mean I did I had
to call back and cancel though, but there was a
whole lot of phone conversation, putting me on hold for
a minute. I mean it was they didn't just have
an unsubscribed button. No, you actually had to call.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
And wasn't that the one where we couldn't They wouldn't
stop dropping the paper in our drive.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
We stopped paying for it and they know that for months,
it just was delivered for almost a year, like, okay,
there's another copy of the Wall Street Journal. I think
for sure they need to make mandate that at least
you have the unsubscribed button on stuff because most of
the things I've unsubscribed for it, you know, they have
it at the bottom. You click it, they may ask
you a question like why are you leaving?

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Yes, subscribe and it says this may take twenty four hours,
but you won't get anymore. And most of them work,
but there are things that go on to get rid
of and it's like there is no one. Well that's
hard for you.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
When you get an email, that's a mandate that there's
an unsubscribe at the bottom of those. So all they
should have that.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
This is subscriptions anything across all industries. They say it's
going to be healthcare, fitness memberships, any media subscriptions. So
it's all coming. We'll we'll keep an eye on it
for you too.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
It'll be easy coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Jody has three Things to Know Today at seven fifty
and coming up next, Sam is the food Dude.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
Oh to get free ice cream today at Baskin Robbins.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Sam's always up on the new eats. He's the food Dude,
brought to you by Famous Footwear.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
All right, Baskin Robbins is giving away free ice cream today. Really,
their whole concept is they're calling it melt insurance. So
if you have ice cream today and it melts, they'll
replace it free. What that's just the stick. The real
thing is if you order an ice cream cone on
their app today, it's free no matter what. You don't
have to have a story about it melting.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
I say the stick though, Like that's their.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Way to get your attention. So melt insurance instead of hey,
we're just giving away free ice cream today. So anyway,
you can only do this with the Baskin Robins app.
Get the app and then use the code melt any
lt and check out Boom.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
I didn't know there was an app for them.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
So see, yeah, there's an app for everything. I guess
you're right if you don't like chocolate shakes, or maybe
your parents tell you can't have chocolate. The strawberry shake
is back at Ourvey's right now.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Strawberry shakes are awesome.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
They taste like my childhood since my parents told me
I was allergic to chocolate before.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Sam, Before you commit to that strawberry shake, I want
to tell you what's going on at Chick fil a
right now. Remember the honey pepper pimento chicken sandwich that
was around for a while.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
I never had it, I did, Yeah, Murphy loved it.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
Apparently. They said that's like sold better than any of
their limited time only offerings ever, so they're bringing it
back at the end of this month, on the twenty
six and they're going to have a spicy version too.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Bring it.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
Wasn't it spicy before?

Speaker 4 (14:55):
It's honey pepper pimento chicken.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Yeah no, that means the pimento cheese will have helip.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
No, no, no, the chicken will be spicy, the chicken itself.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Okay to go io.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Yeah, we told you about this a while back. The
banana they're bringing banana frosted coffee as well as the
banana putting milkshake. Goodness, banana putting milkshake hasn't been there
in like ten years. They're bringing that one back to say.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Parents would have loved that milkshake. I don't think they
knew about it. No.

Speaker 4 (15:22):
And also, KFC, you know how we were talking about
their saucy nuggets where they pre toss them for you. Well,
then now they're going to sell it in a sandwich too,
so you can get the Santa filet tossed in whatever
sauce you want. They'll put it on a bond. Here
you go, number fifty five. And you know, with the
football season starting, all the stadiums are trying some crazy
new foods. I think the craziest might belong to the

(15:43):
Arizona Cardinals. It's called a cotton candy burrito.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
How does that work?

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Fruity pebbles, fruit loops, marshmallows, Skittles, Mini m and ms,
gummy bears, sprinkles, and ice cream, all wrapped up in
a burrito shell made from cotton candy.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Oh so it's low sugar.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Yeah, yeah, he helps fast Arizona Cardinals. Jody has your
Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Next Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
Brought to you by Barry Queen.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Speculation is growing that Megan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex,
may be considering writing a tell all memoir to sort
of provide her side of the story being in the
royal family, her experiences and challenges there, and then exiting
with her husband, Prince Harry.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
We've kind of gotten all that already, right.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Remember there was a Netflix documentary No.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
One Sees What's Happening behind Me Closed Doors that has
everything I could to protect my family.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
I think that one was called Harry and Meghan.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
However, didn't she sit down or they both sat down
with Oprah?

Speaker 1 (16:43):
They do it all the time, they said an interview
two weeks ago. However, there was a there was huge
success with Harry's memoir. Remember it was called Spare, Spare,
Greatest memoir title of all time. So it did really well.
And with a book, let's just be honest, you can
really go. You're reading someone's words coming at you. It's

(17:05):
even more in depth and personal and intimate than a
documentary could ever be. So the word is there's increasing
demand for her to share her side of the story
in that way, and of course the big publishing houses
are already like, we want it and we want it,
so there may be a Megan memoir. Do you want
to hear her side of the story or her take?

(17:27):
Will it do as well as Harry?

Speaker 4 (17:28):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Women are storytellers. We shall see coming up with Murphy Samon.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Jody definitely need this to kick off your morning. How
to be happier?

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Three ways on the way. Wouldn't you like to be happier?
I mean, there are times in your life where it's
very difficult, but there are some basics. And this is
so cool, guys. This comes from professor of psychiatry at
Harvard Medical School who has studied happiness forever brand and.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
There's a very happy person.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
You wonder the people that put these out or it's
like this guy the happiest person in the world.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Hopefully with the information given, yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Now you're going you're going to sometimes be going towards
happiness and sometimes going away from it. It's not a
place that you you ever.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Right, you can't stay there permanent, right, You.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
Never just reach that and that's where you all you
know all the facts and you can stay there. Because
life you can't just stay there, but hopefully so. He
this is what he knows from all these years of studying,
and it's actually doable. Number one, don't neglect the basics.
Exercise regularly, eat good food, you know, sleep, get a
reasonable amount of sleep, and don't abuse alcohol or drugs.

(18:35):
He's like, basics, take care of yourself and you're more
likely to be happy.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
So check that's good sense.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
The other one, and he says, this is actually the
biggest one he's seen. If you only can do one
of these is to stay actively connected with other human beings.
Have a social life. It doesn't mean you have to
be in the club with six hundred people. It means
two or three relationships.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
Yeah, free ones though, right, not.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
Social yes, yes, people that you look into their eyes
and you speak to them as much as often.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
So that could be a family member or a best
friend or whatever.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Right, think about how many times in your life where
you've shut people out, And we all need to do
that at times, and you go, you go more inward,
and that's not good. You know, having somebody to bounce
things off of, talk to. Everybody needs connection and he
finds that in his years of study. You know you
it's stress relief, all.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Of that, and that's why you see so many different activities.
For example, a's senior living centers. You know where people are.
They need that and they may not have that if
they were still living at home.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
So true.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
And the third one being go ahead and just strengthen
your existing relationships. So if you know you know you
want to try to have a social life and be connected,
it doesn't mean you have to go meet new people.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
It means strengthen the relationship.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
It means a positive attitude. It means not saying I
got to go back home to Jodie again.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
No, I'll stay here at work.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Wait es in main Streengthen existing relationship got all.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Me Coming up next, Jody has three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Here's three things to know today.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Brought to you by doctor Marty Nature's Blend.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
Number one, Here's a way that AI may be entering
your life in a good way. Researchers are testing an
AI program that claims it can diagnose your health problems
with a picture of your tongue. They've tested it take
a picture of the tongue kind of let you know that, hey,
that it tells a story about what's going on in
your body. Uh, it's been with ninety eight percent accuracy.

(20:38):
This apt can diagnose diabetes, stroke, covid, asthma, and other
problems just by taking a picture of your tongue.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
Of course you'd take that to your real doctor.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
And of course you don't do this at home.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Number two, get ready for a Barbie and Stanley collection,
a collaboration if you will, the Stanley Cups getting a
sixty fifth and doing a sixty fifth anniversary celebri of
the Barbie doll and all the decades. So they'll be
a multiple cups, eight new quinchers coming out, each you know,
representing a different decade and one of the cups. Tips

(21:10):
of hat to Ken Yay. They're expected to sell out,
of course by mid Septembers when they're dropping. And number
three the next time we see the Olympics in twenty
twenty eight, Doctor Dre maybe a big part of it,
not like Snoop working doing correspondence, but going for metal
really in archery. He started back in junior high. He's

(21:33):
very into the sport. He has a setup in his backyard.
He'll be sixty in February of that whatever and once
so he's got like three years to walk on his game.
You're in the note three things to know today, Sam,
I've reached out to your mom about her dog, pork Chop,
that she had to put down and that she is

(21:55):
having buried in the front yard. I told you I
was going to reach out to her, and I thought
about calling her, and then I thought she wouldn't I
don't know if she wouldn't know my number. So I
reached out to her and Facebook messenger, which is where
I see her most often.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
It was she sends me stuff all the time.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
So I said, hey, mis Judy, I'm so sorry about
your sweet pork Chop. You know, I'm so sorry for
your loss. I know you loved him. I asked how
old he was, and she responded that he was twenty five.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Yeah, twenty five, and said, is that true, Sam, I
don't know.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
She gave me the breakdown on it, and I don't
know that's an old dog. Especially got pork Chop after
my dad passed away and he was already nine then.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Okay, so you think that could be year. So that's
twenty five, Okay.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
Maybe being overweight wasn't a big deal at twenty five man.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
Either way, I just want you to know she did
respond back back to me. I will not you know,
share that here, but she did admit to having a
hard time letting him go, especially for some reason.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
Yeah. I've never heard her talk about an animal like
she has pork chop because she's put other animals to sleep,
or other animals have passed away, and it's just like, yeah,
that's thife, but pork Chop is just stuck with it.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
It means that she had a special connection to him.
He was a friend to her in a way that
other animals. That we all have a favorite animal. It's
okay to have a favorite pet. It's not okay to
have a favorite child, but it's okay to have a
favorite pat you.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
Want my amateur psychological opinion, totally because she got him
shortly after my dad passed away.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
Correct, correct, It was her companion.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
It became an attachment that she needed because you need connection.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
I'm you know, a little concerned though, because if he's
going to be buried in the front yard or the
neighbors prepared, do they know what's going on when they
see your brother out there with a shovel and putting
things in the ground.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
You know, I'm just saying, I guess as long as
they see my mom is still out there.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
Yeah, where's miss Judy there? Brett, he's inside.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
Why I want to move on to something beautiful. The
comments that are rolling in from Instagram and Facebook. We
posted about it to cremate or bury your pets? Robin says, cremate,
but I saved a few ashes and put in a
charm that fits on a chain on a Pandora bracelet.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
Okay, WHOA, So walk.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
In your baby around with you for the rest of
your life. There's no wrong way to do it. We
just kind of wanted to hear from you about the
beautiful ways that you've done this.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
And we still have Chevy and we have Ashley right.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Ash their ashes, Yes, you don't still have.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
Them, lady, I'll need a whole son.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
No, but more of your comments on the way next
direct message us on.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Facebook, Instagram as well YouTube, and you can email us
at Murphysamonjody dot com. Let's get into some of the
comments about Sam's mom's dog, pork Chop, who she has
had to she had to the doction have him to sleep.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
I guess this is the way.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
Somehow live to be twenty five years old. Okay, that's
like a magic feet for a doction, right, I mean,
I don't know, it's.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
A magic number.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
And Sam perhaps thinks that she was wrong about his age,
and that's possible.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
But we are not gonna what is that.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
We're getting into the comments now about to tap.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Rebecca says that.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
They get the straight This doction lived to be forty five.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
Yeah, the Doction's actually older than me.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
Rebecca says this.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
I worked with animals and saw so many people struggling
with the loss of their beloved family member, fir member.
It really comes down to what best gives you closure.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
I agree with that. Thank you for saying that.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Also, does your pet pass when the ground is frozen
in the middle of winter. That the size of the
pet is, you know, something to consider if you're talking
about burying in the front yard. Unpleasant things to have
to think about when you're already feeling so sad.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
Yeah, well she would have buried pork chop in the backyard,
but she's got a lot of brutes and stuff, she said,
so be easier in the front yard.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Has she Have they already buried port been in the
ground since this weekend? Okay, I didn't know, Thank you,
samically put super sensitive common Robina says, we've buried ours,
but we have the land to do it all.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
Yeah. To me, that's just tough. I mean it's tough
physically and ye, and I'm worried I'm gonna do something wrong.
I guess there's no wrong to do it.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
But you know the cremation too, it is a personal thing.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
It is one of the cats that we lost years ago.
I buried in the backyard, So I mean I've done
it before, I know.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Uh. Top fan Shawn says, I have a pet cemetery
in my backyard. Very sad when they go.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
It is sad.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Just watch those Sean, because you know what happens.

Speaker 3 (26:48):
In the movies.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
Yeah, as cats come back.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Okay say that for children who are listening, this doesn't happen.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Kid, Crystal just like me, she says, I've done both cremation,
felt like I could carry them with me. But then
if you have trust issues, you can also wonder if
the remains are truly your beloved are a mix of many.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Keep it coming. We love hearing from you. Coming up
next to Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Trending now Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Brought to you by Barry Queen from the Word of
World of Hollywood. What do you think when you think
of Ryan.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
Murphy American horror story?

Speaker 2 (27:26):
Right, he brings a lot of an American something else, rippy, scary.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
He's actually changed the whole horror genre with these series
and just things that you never thought you see just
on a TV shov Right.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
So his new one.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Is called GROTESQUERYE. It premieres next month. And this is
the one that Travis Kelcey is a part of. But
I mean he's a small role. It's not like he's
the star. The star is niss Nash Betts, Who's she's
fantastic Courtney b Vance in this one as well. So
it's about a series of really crazy, weird, heinous crimes,

(28:04):
that's the word that they've used in a small community.
And Nisi Nash plays the detective. We now have a
like a teaser trailer just the sound of her voice.
Not can I keep needing to hear your ends because
something's happening around us? Okay, I mean that sounds real

(28:26):
and really scary. It's a horror drama premiering September twenty
fifth on Fax and then it streams the very next
day if you can handle it on Hulu. What do
you think the coolest thing is that drones do for
us today? In twenty twenty four?

Speaker 2 (28:45):
What are the I mean?

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Murphy was all about drones when they were first being
used for filming things, and.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
I think, I mean, for me, seeing how they're used
in the movies is crazy cool.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
They're still filming things like the shots.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
You know that because those things could only be done
by what helicopter and airplane. There are cranes in the past,
and now you've got these beautiful scenes that can be done,
you know with the drone. That's one of my favorites.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
Okay you have any.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Sam Yes, whenever they put on a drone show at
a football game or some other thing where they have
hundreds of them with nights, it all works and you
see a man moving in the sat sky or whatever
in the sky. It's like, that's cool.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
So there are probably hundreds of ways that they are
used that I'm not even aware of, because you know,
it's it's a drone. It does not enter my life,
except the one drone I bought you as a birth
birthday gift give me in the two drones accidentally.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
Ordered to they'd come along with send one back.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
We sent one back, well not via.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
You know, the drones that deliver packaging. I know they've
been experimenting for a long time, but that hasn't seemed
to become a thing right.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Well to me, I don't want that yet. Yeah, it's
going to drop something that's breakable. What if it drops
it at the wrong place? I just don't know. That
doesn't seem right. But in New York City they're about
to start using drones to warn people about bad weather.
They have five teams of some drones that will be

(30:10):
equipped with loud speakers if there's a threat of heavy
there's a threat of heavy rain and flood prone neighborhoods,
kind of like the old way of police driving through
a neighborhood and announcing things, you know, on a loud speaker.
They're talking about using it and I'm thinking that's beautiful,

(30:32):
you know, as a way to help people get information
who otherwise, you know, maybe not everybody gets it that way.
Maybe some people are looking at their phone some people
are watching TV. But if you hear something coming down
the street loud speaker, you're gonna be like, what's up.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
I understand that working for a flash flood or something
when the drones can actually fly, but they won't be
able to fly in heavy weather. Now you know what
I mean. If the weather's already.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
There, but the weather's coming.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
But any sort of warning that the police would need
to dispatch, at least like New York about like Manhattan,
that's hard to get especially right, exactly, especially handy.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
It just makes a lot of sense. We'll keep watching
it for you
