Speaker 1 (00:01):
Join us. We love that the most.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
We're gonna get to your dad jokes because bring them,
just because all families can use dad jokes at all times.
We're gonna get to those later. First, we have an
email from Megan. It says, as a teacher, and we've
been talking about teachers and we won't stop in August.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
We just won't do it. We're celebrating you right now
as a teacher.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
I continue to be amazed at the reach a good
teacher can really have.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
This is from Megan.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
I have no clue the ripple effects of my actions
at school what they will have on a student in
their lifetime. We just try our best and know the
ripples will keep rippling. Murphy shared that mister Dobbs heavily
influenced his love of radio. If it wasn't for mister Dobbs,
maybe Murphy wouldn't have pursued radio at all, and that

(00:50):
means he wouldn't have met Jody, and there would be
no Tailor and no Phoebe. The reach of right, the
reach of teachers goes beyond our comprehension. That's from Megan,
and sorry Sam.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
She didn't I was waiting to hear it.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
I know you're waiting here.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Murphy wouldn't have met Sale, but you know what, to
look at it that way, Megan is correct because one
little day in one classroom, you can have an effect
on a child, and it can affect choices that they
make in their life, which affects everything.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
I mean, you could say teachers are almost as important
as parents in that role. You know, even though you've
only got a snapshot of time, short period of time
with them, they they do have that kind of influence.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Yeah, they do. Another important thing with that too, is
I think it's very important to go back and tell
those teachers that once you grow up, yes you know what,
this is what you meant Timmy.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, Murphy's done that with mister Dobbs for sure. I
have also from Tammy favorite teacher, missus Lloyd. Third grade.
She was very kind and made learning really fun. Fifth grade,
mister tach. He read us the best books, didn't treat
us like and he played the wait wait for this,
he played the piano while we sang a couple of
times a week.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Oh what that story book?

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
See so storybook.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Kimberly sent this a huge thank you to my choral
choral teacher. I had just moved and starting was starting
a new school. It was terrifying. She made me feel
welcome and I'm so supported throughout my high school years
and I will always be grateful.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Teachers, every little thing you do. We are celebrating that.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Jump in with us anytime eight seven seven three one
zero four MSJ.

Speaker 5 (02:34):
Coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Jody's got three things to Know at six point fifty.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Coming up next, though. The pregnant glow, it is real.
Tell you where it comes from.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Sam?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Have you ever really noticed pregnancy glow in pregnant women?
I know Murphy has and does on the regular. No,
you've never seen it.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Maybe I haven't. I just didn't notice. You know, I
was a different person back then. I didn't notice the glow.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
They're okay, I'm not talking about the women that you
were expecting with. I'm saying women in general who are pregnant.
Do you notice a glow?

Speaker 5 (03:08):
No?

Speaker 4 (03:08):
I don't, okay, No, different people have different sensitivity. Emily,
who I work out with, is she's expecting her first
child and she's got the pregnancy glow. And do you
know what, before she even told me that she was
expecting it's like that, there's this I couldn't come.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
He's got the radar.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
But it was the glow. Yeah, I love it. It's
the sweetest thing.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
It is a sweet, sweet thing.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
And since we were talking about the other day, I
started reading about it because I remember being told I
had the glow, not by you, Sam, obviously when I
was pregnant.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
I've told you many times you had the gloves for
both of our girls, Jody.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Yeah, it's increased blood flow.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
It really happens.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
It's a radiant, radiant, luminous look sometimes a flushed sort
of look that women have when they're pregnant. It's your
blood volume has increased by fifty percent. Your body is
doing a lot, and your skin looks brighter is one reason.
It's also hormonal changes of course, higher levels of estrogen
and progesterone all that.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Maybe I'm looking for the wrong things because I would
think to me, the glow is just walking around on
cloud nine all the time. Oh no, that's a physical
glow the skin.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
It's it's not the attitude, all right.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Higher body temperature, You definitely have a higher body temperature
when your body is doing all of that.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
It's an amazing thing.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
You hear that, But once you've been pregnant, gone through
a pregnancy, you know, you know, recovered from a pregnancy,
and your life goes on, you realize, whoa I did that,
that happened to me?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
You always said you felt like a furnace duty.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Oh my gosh, so much.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
And you.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Don't even have to say that.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Anyway, So next time you see a pregnant woman, don't
say anything about but see if maybe you can pick
up on that. Now, Sam, it's a beautiful, real thing
coming up next to your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
The Latest Buns, Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Or with you by eBay.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
In a culture that's sort of obsessed with true crime,
which we kind of are, I mean, and if it's
a case that you care about or you just want
answers on, there's no shortage of you being able to
get that and to dig in and documentaries and read well,
I just want you to know Matthew Perry is on
the cover of People magazine this week, which I mean,

(05:34):
you can dig in online as well, but if you're
standing at the checkout at the store, it's going to
be there.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
But just so you know, it really goes there.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
You may know the outskirts of this story about the
doctors who have been arrested in connection with his death,
the catamine queen, his assistant who was injecting him by
this time.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
But there's more.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
It's called Justice for Matthew Perry on the cover of People,
and we just learned some really sad things. We already
knew that the doctor saw him as a payday. Oh yeah,
and they were working the system. One of the doctors
was getting tired of well, I guess couldn't fit it
into his schedule to inject him, so he taught the
assistant how to do it at home.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
That's you can't do that.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
This is all alleged at this point.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Right, Okay, this is part of the investigation. This is
the LAPD working with federal agencies to find this out.
But it's also some detail about the last days of
Matthew Perry's life, and it's really really sad the links
that he was going to to get this. You know,
he was leaving the house to get it, and he
was spending thousands of dollars a week to get ketamine.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Got Your Music News coming up next.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
Sam's Got Music News brought to you by Progressive.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
There is a new bio pick in the works. I
know we're working waiting on Springsteen and Bob Dylan's is
coming out in Madada. Yeah, she's working on hers, but
now in development the new Boy George biopick.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Oh wow, that is going to be a ride.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
This has been an the works for about six years now.
They put it on the back burner for a while
and now they're picking it back up again. Don't have
any word on you know, who's playing what or who's
playing who, But I do know that it's only in
a focus from what I see now on the Culture
Club years. Oh fun, It's not gonna be how Boy
George grew up and how they band got together and
he broke up with the drummer and all that.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Well, you have to narrow down someone's life.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Are they gonna call it? Do you really want to
hurt me?

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Remember who they had talked about?

Speaker 4 (07:28):
It's usually you know these documentaries like that they make
after the titles.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Here's the real thing.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Remember there was talk about actress Sophie Turner playing him,
and that she was like, I'll do it. I want
you to imagine that. Sansa from Game of Front Queen
of the North.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
She could do it, huh interested we could do it.
We'll see. I'll let you know when I hear who
is going to play him this year at Halloween. If
you're heading the Universal Studios, you know they have the
big Halloween horror Knights every year. Yes, you know, they
have eight different haunted houses. One of them this year
is the Weekend's Haunted House. It's called The Weekend's Nightmare Trilogy.
It's all his music and apparently he had his hand

(08:06):
in developing the whole Haunted House. So if you happen
to be hitting up your Universal starts September the fifth
through November third, make sure you check out the Weekend's
Haunted House.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
It's a lot of scariness to one spot.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
And I don't know if you've seen this show yet,
Jody and Apple, do you still have Apple TV?

Speaker 1 (08:21):
I mean, I think I don't get rid of it. No, no, no,
I think we do, right MERVH.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
There is a yes, a new Event's Bond show called
Bad Monkey, and the soundtrack for it is full of
Tom Petty songs. A bunch of artists covered Tom Petty songs.
Now some of these artists you don't know like this
one is Flip Turned. It's thirty different songs altogether that

(08:46):
they float through the ten episodes of the show, along
with other music that they use. Here's another one for you.
This is Fits in the Tantrums. Now Weezer did a song,
Eddie Vedder did a song. They haven't released those yet,
otherwise I'd have played those for you. But it's like
thirty different Tom Petty songs covered on the Bad Monkey soundtrack.

(09:08):
If you want to check it out.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
It's different, very cool. Coming up next. Three things to
Know Today.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
Three things to Know.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Today brought to you by doctor Marty Nature's Blend.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Number one.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
It was night two, last night of the DNC, the
Democratic National Convention in Chicago, and it was the time
to shine for the Obamas. Michelle Obama took the stage
standing Ovation, and so did former President Barack Obama. He
was the keynote speaker fortnight two.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Again.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Standing Ovation is when wraps up this convention on Thursday night.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Of course. Number two.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
If you sometimes feel like social media messes with your
mental health, of course it does. What happens why upsetting content,
feeling like you're missing out and then wasted time Once
you realize that times slipped away from you. So if
you already deal with you know, difficulties, mental health issues,

(10:05):
maybe learn to put it down. Some the biggest offenders
TikTok and Instagram and number three. If you'd like to
go back to a simpler, maybe wilder time, how about
some eighties hair metal. This paramount plus docuseries called nothing
but a Good Time.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
The first trailer is out.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
It's a look at how glam and hair metal just
took over the eighties, but then grunge stormed in and
stole it away, including all the real people. Brett Michaels,
Steven Piercy, Ricky Rackman a part of this.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
It debuts September seventeenth.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
You're up to date. Three things to know today.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Families need humor to get through and you have a
better relationship with your kids and children if you use
humor when I mean not all the time. It's not
possible all the time.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
I'm not appropriate either.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
No, you learned that? Did you find the calf.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Seven? Three, one zero four m s J Where your
dad jokes are always welcome?

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Melissa? You have one for us?

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Yes, I do bring it. What did the beaver say
to the tree.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
What did the beavers say to the tree?

Speaker 1 (11:16):
The dads are straining for this.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
I don't know. It's been nice knowing you.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
No, yes, so simple, which makes it perfect.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Got one for you.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Go for it.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Why does Jesus have hole in his hands?

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (11:36):
I don't know, but I'm thinking my Papa wouldn't like
this joke on that one?

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Bring it? Actually a nice one. It's actually a nice one. Okay,
because he's a holy man.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Oh okay, yes, nice save Oh.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
I told you the nice one. Thank you for this.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Keep bringing the good family corny jokes into families because
families need it.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Yes, they do have a great one, Laine, you got
one for us?

Speaker 5 (12:08):
I do one.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
My five year old told me.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
What do you call a dog sitting in the fire?

Speaker 1 (12:16):
A dog sitting in the fire?

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Yes, go ahead, hot dogs?

Speaker 1 (12:23):
So sweet? Did you laugh? Please tell me you really laughed?

Speaker 5 (12:28):
I spit my milk out.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Now, and this is a little girl or a little boy?

Speaker 2 (12:34):
A little boy?

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Sweet? Did he love making you laugh?

Speaker 4 (12:38):
He always loves making us laugh.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
He's a twin.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Did you relish that joke?

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Yeah, okay, did you relish that?

Speaker 5 (12:52):
Well?

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Thank you for calling and sharing it.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
We love hearing from you, and every time he gives

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Yes, ma'am, one of you dads want to contribute to this.
I got line for you, Okay, Sam.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
And I stayed up all night wondering where the sun went,
but then it dawned on me.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Oh that's kind of sweet.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
This is why your kids don't laugh at them.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Yes, your dad jokes are always welcome with You can
also send them to us on Facebook and Instagram.

Speaker 5 (13:21):
Coming up with Murphy Sam and Jody.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Jody has three things to know today at seven fifty.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Coming up next, what I accidentally trained my cat to do.
I don't know if you play around on YouTube as
much as me or TikTok and.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Okay, Sam, probably not.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Have you seen do on YouTube?

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Not as much TikTok.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Have you seen the cat videos of the cats using
the toilets?

Speaker 2 (13:42):
I mean I've seen it before, and I've seen cats
and cucumbers, which is much more fun.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Oh yeah it is. By the way, I tried the
cats and cucumbers. My mind just didn't care.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Your cats are broken?

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Yeah whatever.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Yeah, Well, I've been able to train yours to use
the toilet.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
No, I haven't, but I've accidentally trained him to use something.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
What do you mean.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Okay, my aboo is an indoor outdoor cat. I don't
have a cat, a cat a little box.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
So he goes out to do his biz.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Right, Well, Gus has had some issues lately, so I
put the dog mind dogs, I put down some pea pads.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Right.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Oh, and it's the same place he always goes. And Gus,
you know, speaking on his behalf, he hits it dead
center every time.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Oh good boy.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
Yeah, he knows what he's doing. But this boy, the cat,
apparently has noticed that, Hey, this is going on. Maybe
I can do this too.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Okay, so the.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Cat started using the pea pad, but he as a cat,
and I guess it's cat you know dynamics. He only
uses the corner of the pea pad, and the corner
of the pea pad is not good because everything doesn't
get on the pad. He goes.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
I can't believe you're saying this because what we had
this situation a.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
Long time ago when we had cats.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
When I was growing up, mostly we were on the farm,
so most of the cats were outside, but my mom
had a cat indoors once and it was a broken cat.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
Too, you know, just not all there.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Yeah, he would get in the litter box, but his
booty would be hanging over the side, and so guess
what would go over the side? Yeah, broken cat, And
most of them are for them being so incredibly agile
and incredibly physical.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
That's a weird thing.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
And another problem with him using those pads is he
does the cat thing when he's.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Done, he scratches.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Yeah, so I hear it. I go in the hall
and there's like a big old bunch of pad. You know,
guys can't use it because it's all what a'm bundle now.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Yeah, I'm sorry you're having cat problems, Yeah, you know.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
Or maybe he's just trying to teach you soon about patience.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Yeah, what's he trying to teach you, Like, give me
a litter box or nothing.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Coming up next, Jody's Hollywood Outsider Trending now Jody's Hollywood Outsider, brought.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
To you by eBay.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
I guess we all knew this was happening because of
the behavior of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck in the
last what six months, but Jennifer herself filed for divorce
this week.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
From Ben Affleck.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
She walked right in without an attorney to the LA
Court and filed herself. I guess she's done this a
few times before. She didn't even bring any was an
attorney with her.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
She knew what to do.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
But understand she they didn't have a prenup. It seems
like they didn't mix their money. So the reason you
would need a prenup is if you're going to mix
all your assets and all your money and all your income.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
They did not do that.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
She had waived spousals to support, you know, and all
of that. So the only thing they had together was
this house in Beverly Hills that they're still trying to sell.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
They bought that together. The rest of it, what's his,
was his.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
It's an easy break.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Well, who knows if it's an easy break.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Everybody thought, Hey, he's the love of her life, and
she's had a lot of love in her life.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
But he's the one. Remember they had this.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Year, the one twice.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
That's yeah, and that's okay, no no divorce judgment here,
but it was two years ago. If they had a
midnight wedding in Las Vegas, remember and then They had
their official lavish wedding with family friends August twentieth of
twenty twenty two, so she filed exactly two years from
the date.

Speaker 5 (17:17):
Coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Sure why that's so funny, Sam, But speaking of it,
how to save on a wedding coming up?

Speaker 5 (17:26):
Direct message us on Facebook.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Ways to save on a wedding. We've been dropping on
brunch weddings are popular. Middle of the week weddings are
popular and cheaper at venues, so keep it coming. Courtney
sent this to us on our Facebook. You really don't
need all the things you think you want, like a coordinator,
catered rehearsal, dinner and the reception. There are many things

(17:50):
I regret about my big, beautiful wedding. That's from Courtney. Oh,
I'm sorry to hear that you regret. It must be
that the cash went away with it too. Yeah, Missy
sent this. I didn't spend a lot on ours. I
planned it all with the help of my friends. Plus
my husband and I both were married before in the
big church wedding.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
This time unexpectedly.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Unexpectedly, we had to get married in a small church
due to weather. My husband was like, do what you want,
I will just show up.

Speaker 4 (18:22):
A lot of times, those second weddings are done just
more simply right.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
On the cheap, more intimate.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Don't say the word cheap when you're planning what's supposed
to be the best day of your life. Oh yeah, okay,
Denise says, go to the Justice for the third Sam
he says, go to the Justice of the peace and
spend the money on the honeymoon.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Right.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
I never really knew what that was. Eloping was something
that I heard about on TV shows growing up.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
I run away and get married, like can run away
the Little White Wedding Chapel in ve Vegas married.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, but you have to run away
what I mean, You don't have to do it on
the sneak.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
You could run away and go to the Justice the piece.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
So the eloping is when you sort of just hey,
we come back from a trip and we got married. Yeah, okay,
got it. Iris said this and sent this in to
our Instagram. My only wedding was on the beach in
Puerto Rico. The best thing was that my family and
friends helped with the expenses.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Yes, I once went to.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
A reception after the wedding and it was a cake
only reception, and I think it said that on the invite.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
It was just groom's cake and wedding cake.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Noohol, no food, certainly no alcohol. It was at a
church and that's what they could afford. Cake only is
an option. Keep it coming. You know, we love hearing
from you. You can send us anything anytime or jump
into the conversation. We really like to know the ways
that you saved on a wedding. You can add to
this convo eight seven seven three one zero four msj.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Coming up next. Jody's got three things to know to
start your day.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
Three things to Know Today.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
Brought to you by doctor Marty. Nature's Number one.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
I hate to be the one to drop this news,
but car insurance rates could be going up by the
end of the year in some states by fifty percent,
highest increases we have seen in a long time.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Why.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
More severe weather events causing car damage and the cost
of repairing that damage has increased a lot. Also, accident
settlements are getting bigger.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Number two.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
One of the doctors charged in the death of Matthew
Perry has reopened his clinic this week. It's in Malibu.
It's an urgent care clinic and he's seeing patients. Now,
the Feds have some rules for him. He has to
inform every single patient about his many you heard this
little big problem with the law right now, and the
biggie is that he cannot write prescriptions while this trial

(20:47):
is pending. We think that consultation is like with every
single patient. And number three, the average American that means
you and me has four bad days a month day.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
It's like once a week. So what makes that happen?

Speaker 2 (21:04):
When you wake up late when you've had a bad
night's sleep as a big win, or losing your keys
in the morning, anything sort of going off the rails
by the way, you know, you think you know you're
gonna have a bad day by eight thirty nine o'clock
in the morning.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Can you determine that? To me?

Speaker 2 (21:18):
It's like you can probably turn it around maybe by ten.

Speaker 5 (21:22):
You're in the note three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Join us anytime eight seven seven three one zero four
MSJ or you can jump in online Instagram or Facebook.
This came in from JD and it's definitely a dad joke.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
All right.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Why do seagulls fly over the sea? Because I don't know,
because if they flew over the bay, they be bagels.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Is the definition of a dad joke?

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Yes, it is. I like a play on words, though,
so keep it coming. Thank you for that.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
You're about the five ants that moved into an apartment
with another five ants.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
No, man, I almost got that.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Yeah, we're doing dad jokes this week because we've learned that.
You know, kids that are raised in a family that
uses humor, they feel closer to their parents.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
It's just better all around. Humor works for you know.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
It's it's good for everything, certainly in families. I wanted
to read this from E. Wilson Jody don't be embarrassed
over an unplanned detour. She's talking about when I was
driving the girls home the other day from our road
trip and I went completely in the wrong direction and
it took me a whole couple of exit exit ramps
to get back.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
I was told the way that she says that though
an unplanned detours as opposed to a wrong turn, yeah,
a big mistake.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
I was embarrassed, and I felt horrible, and I was
tense the rest of the whole drive, which was a
five hours because of it. She said, don't be embarrassed
over and unplanned detour. It's an adventure. It's okay to
show your girls things like that. That things like that
can happen even two moms. So enjoy your time. It's
such a precious time. It is thank you anytime we

(23:06):
get together.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
Plus, you know you're really modeling to your kids how
to handle that kind of situation anyway. You don't always
appear to be perfect, because then they'll think they've got
to be perfect, right.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
Correct, Relax and be human, And you don't want to
do like my dad used to do when he would
miss an exit.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
What curse?

Speaker 3 (23:22):
Yeahs Yes, it is driving with dad.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Okay. Laurie sent this in and I want to get
to it because we mentioned about the Scott Peterson documentary.
She said, I was surprised to hear you talk about
Scott Peterson that case last week. I worked on the
case when I lived in California, and I still maintained
contact with Lacey's family. It is a sad, tragic and
senseless crime that left an impact on me. Laurie, thank

(23:48):
you for sending this in. There are two new documentaries
right now focused on this. One is a Netflix three
part documentary called American Murder Lacy Peterson. And the other
one was a Peacock documentary that was released and it's
got the first ever In Year's interview with Scott Peterson. Oh,
I'll say so, thank you, Laurie.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Keep it coming anytime, coming up, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
But next, the best nutrition advice you ever get sometimes
for a woman comes when she's pregnant. We were talking
about the pregnancy glow earlier, the fact that Murphy can
spot it, you know, anywhere, and you've never seen.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
It, Sam, I've never seen it.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
It's a real thing that happens there. It's really in
the skin.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
And the women who are pregnant, you know, they have
a glow because of their medical reasons, like you know,
increased blood flow, increased hormonal changes.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
You know, your body is doing a lot and it shows.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
And I would have never thought that would be that.
I see it mostly in the face when I see it.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Yeah, and you think it's magic, but it's actually medical.
Although pregnancy is magic. But talking about that reminds me
of the best nutrition advice I ever received. And it
was the first time that I was pregnant all those
years ago. Murphy and I wanted to just throw it
out there because you know, you always throughout your life
you have these periods of I'm gonna eat right, and

(25:09):
I'm gonna eat clean and I'm gonna take you know,
and it feels good, and then you have cheese fries
during football season. But it's okay to correct, you know.
You always go off the rails a little bit then correct.
And anytime I've ever tried to correct, I always remember
what my obg y N told me when I was
first pregnant. First of all, I was really I cared

(25:31):
so much about what I put in my body when
I was pregnant, took better care of myself, and I think.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
A lot of you.

Speaker 2 (25:36):
You become a mother as soon as you learn that
you're pregnant, you know, and that's the nutrition matters. It matters,
so she said, I asked, was asking her about what
to eat, what not to eat. I was so concerned.
She's like Jodie, just as often as you can eat
things in their not eat something in its natural form.
It's better for you to eat an apple instead of

(25:57):
apple sauce because that's processed, you know, So.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Eat fresh bread.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Instead of you know, bagged bread or mass produced bread.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Or eat potato chips and not pringles.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
No no, no, no no, or eat a potato And
that made so much sense, Like, if it's natural, your
body knows what to do with it. If it's processed
and it has all the words you can't pronounce, it's
harder on your body. And the last thing you want
for your body when you're pregnant is worth things to
be hard on it. Yeah, true, And I just I
need to tell her that the next time I see her.

(26:30):
My Oubiguian like that advice that she gave me in
my first trimester of my first pregnancy stays stuck.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Such good stuff coming up next your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider, brought to you by eBay.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
There's a Y two K movie coming that's going to
be a comedy horror movie. And remember what Y two
K was twenty five years ago. We were around this time.
We were all sort of freaking out about what was
going to happen on December thirty first of nineteen ninety nine.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
That's when we'd go from ninety nine to zero zero zero, right.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
We thought it was going to be the biggest tech
nightmare and maybe a few people had glitches, but really
basically nothing. It was very uneventful. So there's a comedy
horror movie called Y two K coming produced by Jonah Hill,
so expected to be fun, starring Jaden Martel, Rachel Zegler,
and Alicia Silverstone. In this movie, look for Y two

(27:24):
K and by the way, it'll be here December sixth
in theaters.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
It's almost here.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Some more cool things to know about Lady Gaga and
Joaquin Phoenix in Joker Too.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
When I first saw Joker, when I saw you.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
Listen to them, I think she brings it to a
whole new level as far as musical movies go, Well,
the word is they did not sing along to.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
A pre recorded track.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
They did as much of the performing and singing live
while filming as they possibly could. There was an off
screen piano player, and Lady Gaga says it's because the
characters Joker and Harley are not professional singers, so they
wanted to seem sort of eerie but that they're singing
to each other constantly. Look for that one in theaters October.

(28:15):
If you've got a family road trip coming up for
a Labor Day weekend, or just looking ahead to Oh,
it's that time of the year maybe, you know, Thanksgiving,
when you're in the car with the family.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
As long as everybody's.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
Not grumpy or you know, sleeping in the backseat, it's
it can end up being really good family time. And
we experienced that the other day when me, Murphy and
our girls went on a little road trip over the
weekend last weekend and we ended up making up a
new car game. Oh and it's so simple.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
I wouldn't say it's a car game as much as
it is just a fun interact in interactive experience.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Yeah, game game, fun INTERACTIVI you were for Hasbro, what
okay listen? So we were to decide, you know, what
music to listen to because we're a very musical family.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
We like to sing along and all that.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
And so instead of like you know, Dad getting to
play all his songs for thirty minutes and then Phoebe
getting all her choice for an hour, it was like,
let's take turns, pass a device around and you get
to pick a song. Taylor comes up first with some
muse you know, and she introduces us to all kinds

(29:26):
of stuff all the time.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Oh well that's the thing too. When each person played
their song. Did they say, Okay, here's what it.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
Is are she surprised us.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Sometimes it would just punch off and it was like, oh,
you know what I mean. I got to play a
new song that I'm in love with and I know
you've heard it. It's the new Billie Eilish Birds of
a Feather, and we get you know, we just talk about, oh,
this is the best, my favorite thing she's ever done,
and she's so you know, talented, and then Phoebe's like,

(29:57):
turn it up, stop talking.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
It's just beautiful.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Murphy is always a lot of fun because he'll bring
stuff that's older that the girls forgot that they loved,
like this one from Elvis.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
Sent them on five, Go into High, Get on man, and.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
He cracks it. Yeah, I played at Gwen Stefani that
I know they love. So we had a blast with
that when it makes the trip go by quickly. And
then Phoebe brought in an eighties classic that she appreciates.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
So just remember it's a fun interactive that's Murphy. It's
a new car game.
