a hobby that actually sparks you. I mean we all
get in those ruts. You don't check off your hobby
when you're in twelfth grade and go, this is my
hobby for the rest of my life.

Easy. You kind of work your way in and out
of them over time too.

We were sharing that, you know, finding a hobby that
sparks creativity. You know, whether it's something artsy, it does
help you feel happier. It's it's your own little therapy.
So keep searching for it and keep trying. Donna sent
this in while living away, I took a pottery class
and fell in love. I loved it so much I

continued to take classes and even bought a pottery wheel.
Sitting down at the wheel, feeling the clay with my hands,
watching the lump of clay being shaped into something that
would eventually be used as a mug, a plate, a vase,
or even something whimsical, just calmed my mind and filled
(03:59):
me with joy. When I moved away moved back five
years ago, I've not been able to find a place
that is reasonably priced enough to continue this hobby. I
still have my wheel, and it sits in a corner,
waiting for me to find a place where I can
have my creations fired and possibly even take more classes.

I want to tell you guys about a reboot of
a TV show that was much loved because this TV
show was very different and there's never been anything really
like it since. A comedy married with Children.

I couldn't believe some of the things I was hearing
and I never really sat down and watched a whole episode.
I would just like walk me through if it would play,

You know? It was groundbreaking different. So they're doing a
reboot with some of the original with the original cast
Katie Sigall coming back, Ed O'Neill coming back, David Faustino

coming back, and Christina Applegate Family coming back. But here's
the difference. It is going to be a reboot where
they are now, what they're like now or since then,
but it's going to be animated and the same people
who brought us or bring us Family Guy. One of
the biggest reasons for the reboot is Christina Applegate because

she she wanted to said, well, she's taken a step
back from on camera acting because of her medical issues.
She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in twenty twenty one
and she has a lot of problems with it. But
she's all all in for doing voice work, which is
probably harder because you have to express everything with the voice.

Me and Brandy were care of feeding some poor cats
who would starve otherwise.

I mean, I don't think they would start. But it's okay.

I mean mama cat with two kittens who are now
thriving thanks to all the food, but realize.

Right though, they'd still survive.

And you know, when you put food out, it's not
it's not like it's reserved for the moment. You can't
put a sign in it, and only those cats are
getting I know. One one morning I went down there
where I hide, the where we hide the bulls, and
the bull had been dragged a little ways and I.

Thought, hmm, looks like the work of a raccoon. Anyway,
So I haven't seen the cats either in a couple
of days. And I got a text today and I'm
so it's from Brandy. So she has people who live
near here who were going to trap them, and I thought,
I'm out of that. I don't know how to trap cats,
can't do it. And apparently they're you know.

Humanly trap.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Oh, yes, humanly trap. So we could take them to
have them. Spain hootered, right, Okay, it's a mama and
two kittens, and so I asked for the update. First
the orange one, which I call Tiger, went in pretty quickly,
and then the other little They didn't see the mama
for a while. They waited another twenty minutes, and then
she came up and went right in. They weren't too happy,
(08:12):
but they ate great. Last night they were in shock,
but they're okay and on the way to the vet
today to get spein uter.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Wait, so they all three got trapped in the same trap, not.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
According to the pictures I was sent. I was sent
these pictures of cats. They're so sweet and it looks
like crates. But I've never trapped a cat before.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
This is so there were three traps, so that means
that the others didn't catch on.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Obviously they were hungry.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Here's what's up also too, and the other one didn't
warn it, you know, yeah, all right, Yeah.

I wasn't allowed to feed them for a couple of days,
so they were hungry is how they got trapped. They
were hungry. It was very hard for me not to
feed them.

The last couple of weeks comes on, they get fixed.

That's the next thing. We're looking for homes for them, Sam,
in case you want another cat, you know. And then
we're talking about maybe bringing them back here if we
can't find homes for them.

My mom and I went and we walked in and

something to drink and I told her, wait, he can't
drink from a straw. She laughed and said that he
could too. Watch. I was so proud of him. When
I got home, I told my husband about it. The
next day, my husband went off to the store and
bought the biggest bag of straws I've ever seen. So
beautiful for you to share that with us, and share
him with us. You see, when your kids WOWU you,

Know, I know you can. You know, Taylor brought home
a cheeseburger and fries the other night and I wasn't
expecting it, and I'm sitting there eating a salad and
she walked by with that and all the pleasure centers
of my senses just went crazy wanting that that smell
the fries too crazy. So National Cheeseburger Day. Some little
touches to up your game with making cheeseburgers at home. Okay,

Which is all about not overworking the meat, by.

The way, right bike good quality meat and don't over
do anything to it, but it's before you even touch
the meat. Okay, butter your grill, you know, do the
buns first, okay, so they don't get meat drippings in them.
They just want butter on them, and you want them
to be crisp on the outside warm.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
I always forget the butter trick because that one that
does make a subtle but important difference.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Huge shredded lettuce is better thin little shredded lettuce, so
that it gives you you're in it for crunch and coolness.
And for tomatoes. They should be sliced very thin, thinly sliced,
because you don't want them to take over the taste.
The taste is supposed to be in the meat and cheese.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
Okay. Oh, by the way, too.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Another bun trick to do was like, if you do
the smash burgers, you do your bun on top of
the burger. I don't know if you've seen that.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
I've not seen that. I've seen the burger being smashed.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
On the smasher burger. You got the onions on top
of it, and then you take both your buns. You
put the top bun down and then bottom but on
top of it, so and you're supposed to take one
of those lids and put it over and let them
steam in the your bun gets nice and soft and pillowy.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Okay, there's a million ways to do it. I've seen
it where it's a very thin smashed burger and then
a slice of cheese, and then another very thin sliced
burger and those two thin slice thin smashed burgers on top.
The cheese kind of glues them together so they don't
slide off, and then that's a cheeseburger. Yeah, Oh, smash burgers.

It takes practice to do.

It, it does, and you gotta have the right smasher
I bought. The first one I bought was a square,
which doesn't work well with round pans.

in the open workspace, it's things like noises, bodily noises
or you know, or voices too loud, or just any

combo of those kinds of things.

Workspace. I continue to struggle with it because I know
it fosters creativity and community and collaboration. You know, I know,
I'll work with Murphy. Murphy's very much about that door, open,
open space, let's all work together. But it also fosters,
you know, storytelling. Hey, I'm gonna tell you about this,
and it just fosters interruptions sometimes too.

Yeah, yeah, I see what you're saying.

It's a delicate balance, but that to me is that's like.

Part of the culture. You kind of have to learn
to respect people's space and be comfortable in the silence.
I think that's what makes the open workspace odd if
somebody's getting used to it for the first time, because
silence around a bunch of people just feels weird, not
to say.

At home, like don't talk to me, okay. Number one
on the list, though, that matters to the American workforce.
According to Monster dot Com, they do this every single year,
so cool to learn this. Number One respectful communication people
want to be spoken to in a respectful manner.

I think that's important. And I don't know if they're
talking about bosses there or coworkers or whatever.

I think in a world today where everything's moving at
ninety miles an hour and pressure is up and people
are kind of stretched thin, it's probably very easy for
people to fall into bad habits in the workplace and

She persevered through it all and her pet was signed
off on a tryout for volleyball and returned to sports.
She made the a team for her school and we
couldn't be more proud. Kids are such fast healers. Here's

all the way up to the top of her leg.
I don't know how you even bathes her with her

I got Carol said that her son is living his
dream acting in Hershey Pennsylvania this past summer. So well,

sparks creativity. You know, whether it's something artsy, it does

and fell in love. I loved it so much I

continued to take classes and even bought a pottery wheel.
Sitting down at the wheel, feeling the clay with my hands,
watching the lump of clay being shaped into something that
would eventually be used as a mug, a plate, a vase,
or even something whimsical, just calmed my mind and filled

me with joy. When I moved away moved back five
years ago, I've not been able to find a place
that is reasonably priced enough to continue this hobby. I
still have my wheel, and it sits in a corner,
waiting for me to find a place where I can
have my creations fired and possibly even take more classes.

and I never really sat down and watched a whole episode.

the difference. It is going to be a reboot where
they are now, what they're like now or since then,
but it's going to be animated and the same people
who brought us or bring us Family Guy. One of
the biggest reasons for the reboot is Christina Applegate because

she she wanted to said, well, she's taken a step
back from on camera acting because of her medical issues.
She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in twenty twenty one
and she has a lot of problems with it. But
she's all all in for doing voice work, which is

getting I know. One one morning I went down there

Thought, hmm, looks like the work of a raccoon. Anyway,
So I haven't seen the cats either in a couple
of days. And I got a text today and I'm
so it's from Brandy. So she has people who live
near here who were going to trap them, and I thought,
I'm out of that. I don't know how to trap cats,
can't do it. And apparently they're you know.

Humanly trap.

Oh, yes, humanly trap. So we could take them to
have them. Spain hootered, right, Okay, it's a mama and
two kittens, and so I asked for the update. First
the orange one, which I call Tiger, went in pretty quickly,
and then the other little They didn't see the mama
for a while. They waited another twenty minutes, and then
she came up and went right in. They weren't too happy,

but they ate great. Last night they were in shock,
but they're okay and on the way to the vet
today to get spein uter.

Wait, so they all three got trapped in the same trap, not.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
According to the pictures I was sent. I was sent
these pictures of cats. They're so sweet and it looks
like crates. But I've never trapped a cat before.

This is so there were three traps, so that means
that the others didn't catch on.

Obviously they were hungry.

Here's what's up also too, and the other one didn't

I wasn't allowed to feed them for a couple of days,
so they were hungry is how they got trapped. They
were hungry. It was very hard for me not to
feed them.

I got home, I told my husband about it. The
next day, my husband went off to the store and

to be crisp on the outside warm.

I always forget the butter trick because that one that
does make a subtle but important difference.

Huge shredded lettuce is better thin little shredded lettuce, so
that it gives you you're in it for crunch and coolness.
And for tomatoes. They should be sliced very thin, thinly sliced,
because you don't want them to take over the taste.
The taste is supposed to be in the meat and cheese.

Okay. Oh, by the way, too.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Another bun trick to do was like, if you do
the smash burgers, you do your bun on top of
the burger. I don't know if you've seen that.

I've not seen that. I've seen the burger being smashed.

On the smasher burger. You got the onions on top
of it, and then you take both your buns. You
put the top bun down and then bottom but on
top of it, so and you're supposed to take one
of those lids and put it over and let them
steam in the your bun gets nice and soft and pillowy.

Okay, there's a million ways to do it. I've seen
it where it's a very thin smashed burger and then
a slice of cheese, and then another very thin sliced
burger and those two thin slice thin smashed burgers on top.
The cheese kind of glues them together so they don't
slide off, and then that's a cheeseburger. Yeah, Oh, smash burgers.

It takes practice to do.

I bought. The first one I bought was a square,
which doesn't work well with round pans.

very satisfying being a psychiatrist. Do you love it?

I just have no idea what it must be like.

Yeah, it can get overwhelming, But I work with kids.
I'm a child psychiatrist, so I really enjoy spending time
with them. If I can make even a difference in
the you know, in the day of a child on
a daily basis, it really gratifies me. And I really
I can say that I enjoy what.

I do wonderful.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
And I was listening to you guys, and I love gardening,
and like Jody said, cooking can be rc Yeah. I
love cooking. And anytime and I see a new leaf
pop up in my house plans, it's just it's so
guitrdic for me, so I look for taking care of
my plans.

Yeah, that's yeah. Creativity can be anywhere. It's not just
the typical.

What are the workplace behaviors that people don't like the most?
And after we discussed this, you'll go away with knowing
the positive. What to do? You know what people around
you want. You always want to take a guest and
when people we don't.

No, although that's person specific.

Some people like and some people don't have a sense
of humor. I'd be really careful about that one. Sam.
I know you've done it before and it's one of
your favorites, but rubber roaches don't work on everybody the record,
you know, I mean to me, I would think that
in the open workspace, it's things like noises, bodily noises
or you know, or voices too loud, or just any

combo of those kinds of things.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Workspace. I continue to struggle with it because I know
it fosters creativity and community and collaboration. You know, I know,
I'll work with Murphy. Murphy's very much about that door, open,
open space, let's all work together. But it also fosters,
you know, storytelling. Hey, I'm gonna tell you about this,
and it just fosters interruptions sometimes too.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Yeah, yeah, I see what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
It's a delicate balance, but that to me is that's like.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
Part of the culture. You kind of have to learn
to respect people's space and be comfortable in the silence.
I think that's what makes the open workspace odd if
somebody's getting used to it for the first time, because
silence around a bunch of people just feels weird, not
to say.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
At home, like don't talk to me, okay. Number one
on the list, though, that matters to the American workforce.
According to Monster dot Com, they do this every single year,
so cool to learn this. Number One respectful communication people
want to be spoken to in a respectful manner.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
I think that's important. And I don't know if they're
talking about bosses there or coworkers or whatever.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
I think anybody.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
I think in a world today where everything's moving at
ninety miles an hour and pressure is up and people
are kind of stretched thin, it's probably very easy for
people to fall into bad habits in the workplace and
not be you knows, as kind and cordial to each other.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Correct. But I think there was an old belief that,
you know, someone who is a boss could could say
anything to you in any way and you had to
just sort of suck it up. And that's not necessarily true, right,
It's not true.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Then they created the HR department and that took care
of that.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
The other thing on the list that American workers don't
like is someone who's not punctual, always working with someone
who's always running things late. It's just something to be
aware of. Another one that made the list is the environment,
keeping not cleaning up after yourself.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
The coffee pot. That's like, I'll hitch it right exactly.

in a mega cast. May twenty third. This year, my

twelve year old broke her leg and growth plate. Spent
most of the summer in a full leg cast than brace.
She persevered through it all and her pet was signed
off on a tryout for volleyball and returned to sports.
She made the a team for her school and we
couldn't be more proud. Kids are such fast healers. Here's

a picture of her in her mega cast. It's a
cast from her foot. You can see just her toes
all the way up to the top of her leg.
I don't know how you even bathes her with her
house sheep, but sheep. Kids are more resilient, like an
adult would see all the hurdles there or when I
was trying to say the obstacles there where she figured

it out. I know she did.

I got Carol said that her son is living his
dream acting in Hershey Pennsylvania this past summer. So well,
you get the park there. His twin sister is the
first lieutenant in the US Army doing military intelligence in Poland. Whoa,
I know who my favorite child I see? Says her
son's a firefighter in California fighting the fires right now,

and I'm so proud of.

Him, no kidding, Yeah, thank you for your service fighting fires.
She sent a picture of him too. Amy sent my
son got his Eagle Scout before eighteen, and he joined
the Marine Corps to serve. He graduated at the top
part of his class.

Awesome, that is so wild for sure.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
Yeah, our son, this is from Misty. Our son is
a is a freshman at his dream college, studying electrical
engineering and playing his favorite instrument in the marching band.
Excelling and living his best college life. Wow, so awesome.

Hey, this one's kind of cool too. From Amy here,
my oldest son was the first person in the history
of the family to graduate from college. He's a pediatric
on collegist now. And just a reminder from Amy, it's
