Speaker 1 (00:02):
When sharing about hobbies that would make you happy. You know,
every seeking out a hobby that would make you happiest.
Sometimes you need to stop looking for it and it
will come to you or you will stumble upon it.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Does that make sense?
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Yes, in fact, in fact, stop looking because in just
live and you might just stumble upon it.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
That's the way. That's the way that I've had to
live my life honestly, because there hasn't been a hobby
that's like I'm going to build ships in a bottle,
you know what I mean. There's nothing that jumped out
of me that was a hobby that's like I've got
to do It's Isn't it funny.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Though, that you can't see your own hobbies. You definitely
have hobbies. They're all tech related.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Oh they are? Yeah, I guess that's true. Yeah, right, you're.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
All tech And that's fine. If it makes you happy,
that's it does.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Spending I'm a tinker.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Spending your free time.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
What you do with yourself when you actually have free time,
tells you that's your true self. I also say, whatever
you eat when you're alone, and whatever you do eat,
that's what you really want.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Oh hey, well that's exactly true.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
There's nobody to say, well, I hope for you're by yourself,
eat what you want.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
I know that the other day after work, Murphy was
off doing something, Taylor wasn't home, and there was nothing
at home, so I drove through Chick fil A and
got a kid's meal.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Because that's what I wanted.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
That's why not to overeat fast food. So I always
get the kids meal and it was like, I ate
every bit of that. So anyway back to the hobbies.
You know, what you end up doing with your time
when you really have free time and no one else
to answer to and you're not letting any guilt pull
on you in your head is what you what actually
brings you joy. And I realized I thought of it
(01:43):
the other day when we were wrapping up our couple's
weekend with our friends Mark Androdra On.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
The way out of town.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
The day we were all leaving, she wanted to go
to like this antiques mall and I'm like, yeah, I'm there.
We all had a good time looking around there. Murphy
even saw a big Jim camper.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Yeah, I forgot. I forgot to send you the picture
that Sam I took a picture of it for you.
I did not have big gym as a kid, as
you know, because I didn't have large, I had all
the knockoffs of everything.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
But yeah, yeah, I thought about you, Sam.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
And they also they had matchbox cars that they were
selling somewhere going for one hundred and fifty bucks apiece.
It makes me wish i'd I kept mind.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yeah. Anyway, I bring it up because I saw a
lot of art there, a lot of paintings, and when
I see a really cool painting, it makes me go, oh,
that makes me want to paint again.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Coming up at six point fifty, Jody has three things
to know today and next going to hear from you, Sam.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Somebody missed what your life changing story is, so we're
going to have to rehash.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Okay. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Love having you there.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
You can also text us to join the show at
eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ This one
came in.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
It's just a line.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
I think I missed it. What is Sam's big life
change story?
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Thanks?
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Someone texted that end? So what is let everybody know
what's your big life changes?
Speaker 4 (03:06):
I'm getting married for a fourth time.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Everybody what everybody thinks? Right?
Speaker 4 (03:11):
So I figured everybody could be happy for that one
for second too. No, I'm not getting married again. I'm
not even dating again. I'm just really tarting about thinking
about downsizing the house. I'd always kept the four bedroom
house because you know, the kids are going to come
over and they want to spend the night or it's
never happened, they're all the way, so there's no reason
to have to keep that thing clean. So within the
(03:33):
next few years, this isn't that this weekend thing. It's
time to start cleaning up, repainting, reroofing and all that
and get rid a lot.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Yeah, you're not going to be even a little sentimental
about a house like this.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
That means I built this house right with.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
What are you?
Speaker 4 (03:46):
That's another reason I've always kept it, because it's like
I want the kids to have this is the place
I grew up, this is where I come home. Yes,
but as time has gone on, it's like it doesn't matter.
It really doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
I think that's a that's a decision that different families
attack differently, Like sometimes the home is something the actual
structure does mean something to a lot of families, but
they do say also that you're not supposed to emotionally
attach yourself to a property life, not to a thing.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
It's tough to do when it's your childhood home though,
of course.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Yeah, my parents sold there as I was just like,
hurts the house and then I don't care, it's just
the house. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Have you spoken to your kids about this at all?
Not that you have to ask them.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
You need to do what works for your life.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
No, I have not.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
I'm going to talk to them when the time comes
and I start the real process of fixing everything up,
and you know, the countdowns on.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
And if one of them, Maddie, if even one of
them were to say, oh Dad and react that way,
that a hurt way, would it change your game.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
No, I'll just tell them I'll put the mortgage in
their name and they can continue to pay it, and
I'll stay right where I am.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Welcome to how Sam Handles.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Thank you for sending that text. We love hearing from
you anytime.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Coming out next, Jody has your Hollywood.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Outside Millie Bobby Brown gets married again. The latest Buns
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Brought to you by All State.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Millie Bobby Brown now known as Millie Bobby bon Jovi
because She did apparently legally change her name when she
married Jake bon Jovie in May of this year. The
word is they got married again in Italy this week
this past weekend.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Oh, isn't that nice.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
So they did a low key wedding in May, where
her father in law John sang at the reception.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
But the word is they had a bigger, not low.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Key thing in Italy and she invited all of her
stranger things friends.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Oh, so they were all there, even Vecna probably isn't
that fun?
Speaker 3 (05:55):
It is? So now her last name is spelled GOVI
is that what it is?
Speaker 1 (06:00):
It's one word b o n g io v I.
It's not spelled like the band.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
The band was, but it's pronounced bon Jovi or g ov.
Nobody knows for sure.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
I think it's pronounced bon Jovi.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
I know that's what you wanted to be. Yeah, I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
You're rocking my world with that question. I think it's
bon Jovi.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
I think that's the way they say it, and they
spelled it that way for the band because they wanted
to copy led Zeppelin.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Remember that.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
I know that.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
That's a true little Rocks history story for you.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Anyway, I've got a bonus Outsider Hollywood Outsider for you. Next,
a little bonus Hollywood Outsider for you. Netflix has let
us know that the new season of Wednesday, we know
that's coming in twenty twenty five, that they gave us
another teaser trailer this week. They didn't give away anything,
(06:56):
but it looks more twisted and more scary even so
if you liked the first season, you're gonna like this
even more. And Jennet Ortega even said, look, we're not
gonna give away anything. If we showed you anymore, your
eyes would bleed and I'm not that generous, is what
she had to say. So there's more of never More
(07:16):
Academy this time around and in the teasers, and she'll
be dealing with supernatural mysteries as we all expected, and
some regular sort of high school problems. So look for
that one in twenty twenty five. We will let you
know the exact date. The West Wing is in the
news again. This Aaron Sorkin show, The West Wing that
I never watched, but remember it was on for a
(07:37):
long time ninety nine to two thousand and six. It
was Martin Sheen as a president and all the things
that he was dealing with in the White House, and
they came up on the anniversary of the show. It's
a twenty five year anniversary or whatever, and Aaron Zorkin said,
you know what, they were touring the White House as
a part of their anniversary. You may have seen that,
like Rob Loo and all this, and he said, you know,
(07:57):
being here, Aaron said, walking through the White House, he
was like, why didn't we ever do this or why
didn't we ever do this? So his creative brain clicked on,
and he's like, he could see a reboot.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
He could see a reboot of.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
The West Wing. It's what he said.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Yeah, I mean I almost would go back and watch
that show. Of course without the modern technologies that we have,
it would be weird to see it.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
But apparently hard word telephones. Yeah, yeah, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
It's an interesting concept for a show because it's a
place you don't ever really you know, it's a peek
into something, kind of like the Crown was for us Murphy.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Yeah, a fictionalized peek into the presidency.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Fictionalizer that has to be remembered.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Also, and Gladiator two, we were talking about this yesterday.
Gladiator two is coming to the theater in November.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Were missed so many subjects. She must feed them. They
can eat wool.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
You have to see the trailer if you ever loved
this movie twenty four years ago, or you want to
watch it again. If you are like a Game of
Thrones type person, you might really really like this.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
But everybody's excited.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
There's a lot of buzz about it because something that
you had asked me, Sam, the actor Paul mescal he is,
in fact, it's the reveal in the trailer that.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
He is the son of Maximus. The rest of throw
in the film. Yeah, everybody's making that.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Oh, a lot of excitement about this one in theaters
in November.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Coming up next. Jody has three things to Know Today.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Three things to Know Today.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
Brought to you by Doctor Marty Nature's Blend.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Number one, A big one brewing in the Gulf of Mexico,
and we do mean a major storm. It will be
Hurricane Helene tomorrow as it approaches, and according to the
National Hurricane Center, it'll be a major hurricane. They're expecting
it to be a Category three, so state of.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Emergency for Florida.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Forty one counties declared a state of emergency. It looks
like it's going to be making landfall the current models
in Florida's Big Bend region on by Thursday.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Number two, the last full sized Kmart store in the
US set to close in October. It's located in the Hamptons.
Believe there was a Kmart in the Hamptons right now.
There is one little location in Miami, but it's more
like a small convenience store. They've been slowly closing all
their stores since they filed for bankruptcy in twenty eighteen.
(10:14):
They first opened nineteen sixty two.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Wow, so it's about me thousands of.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
The past, correct, over twenty six hundred actually, and number
three today, Johnny Cash honored with a statue.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
At the US Capitol. You knew about this was coming out.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
Yeah, he's one of the two Arkansas new statues.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Correct.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
It's a bronze statue in the Capitol's Statuary Hall. It'll
depict him holding a guitar and a Bible as he
represents his home state.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
You're in the know.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Three things to know today, kids in junior high, in
high school, even upper elementary. This message is for you.
This is for you right now. We've been we've touched
on the qualities of a true friend. Recently and a
lot of people have a lot of things to say
about it, and one of the biggest ones is a
(11:06):
true friend respects your boundaries. And I want to touch
on that, especially at this time of the year, because
later this week, this weekend, across the country, everywhere, at
your school, in your neighborhood, you're gonna see haunted houses
start popping up. A lot of them are opening this weekend.
This is a big scary weekend. And I just have
(11:27):
to say to you one of the things about your
and when I was a kid, I didn't even know
what that meant, boundary. I had to be an adult
before I learned. You need to have a personal boundary.
If something's a hard no for you, a real friend
will respect it. So don't let a group of friends
or someone appear tell you, oh, you have to go
(11:50):
through this, or you're a chicken. You know, because if
you don't like scary, if you're a little bit unsure,
it is okay to go.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Yeah, it's not for me. In fact, act.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
The more you stand your ground really truly, it doesn't
seem like it seems like it's gonna get worse. The
picking but the more you stand your ground on something
like that, they actually will respect it. Eventually, they'll respect you,
whether they tell you that or not. As a different story,
it's just something I feel like needs to be talked.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
We need to talk about it.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Right, absolutely, considering that you were chased by a gorilla
as a child, not a real girriund No, it wasn't
a real one, right, I got a high house, was that?
Speaker 1 (12:26):
But it was a haunted house, ye, run by a
civic group, a local civic group, And I didn't.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
I chose to stand.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
My ground with my mom. I begged her, probably don't
make me go in. So she said, fine, Jody and
she my brother went into the haunted house and we
were outside waiting, and some teenage boy dressed as a
gorilla chased me around and I was screaming and crying,
making a fool of myself when I should have just
(12:56):
had my boundary.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
No, well you were young anyway.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
I just want kids to know that you need to
be able to say, if this is not for you,
just speak up for yourself, and if it's a true friend,
they will respect it. That's the quality of a true
friend is that they respect your boundaries.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
That is what that means.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
I think it's very sound advice. So when you went
through that haunted house with me and Sam that time,
you elected to do that, right. I just want to
make sure we weren't pressuring you. I still have scars
from that on my back.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
I elected to do it, but regret it.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Coming up at seven fifty, Jody has three things to
know today. And next, Sam is the food dude.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
Lets you know why Coke is just discontinuing some of
their flavors.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
If it's new and you can eat it, Sam's found it.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Here's the food.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Dude, brought to you by Chick fil A.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
Coca Cola is getting rid of a couple of flavors
that they said the consumers just don't seem to be
going for anymore, which is changing preferences and lifestyles. Coca Cola,
Cherry Vanilla.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Okay, yeah, you're sitting here on every word.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Oh cherry Vanilla Ascar. I like cherry vanilla, but not anymore.
Whatever's in the stores now is what's what's after that
it's gone. And also they're getting rid of about one
of the diet cokes, Diet Coke with Splendor.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
It's not selling is the reason. Though they're a.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Coke zero, why do you need it? I know there
are people that are just like dead set on diet coke.
I know, I want to.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Understand it, but yes, I know I have friends that
say they're addicted to it like that.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Well, the thing is diet coke with splendid most I
guess the standard diet coke is made with equal aspartame
or whatever it's called.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
You know what I mean, difference.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
It does taste a little bit different.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Also, they it's rumored that they're getting rid of Coca
cola spiced, which I thought that was a limited time anyway.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Yeah, that's the one that just took over your mouth
flavor wise one for.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
A little while. Well, moving on, how about plant based ribs.
Didn't see that one coming?
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Makes sense?
Speaker 4 (14:56):
It's it's gonna get even weirder too. These are plant
based ribs. They look like real ribs, and the bones
are plant based as well.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
So the bones Oh wow, okay, so it's kind of
like a mcgrib sandwich.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
Yes, exactly, except it's always here.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yeah okay.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
Actually they're made of water, soy protein concentrates, sunflower oil,
natural flavors, pea protein and blah blah blah, a bunch
of kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
And also another company has come up with the plant
based steak. Okay, I'm not I don't know what kind
it is because it looks like but you don't have
to say it's ribbi or t bone, you just so.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
It looks like it. Yeah. Is that artificial coloring that
makes it look like that?
Speaker 4 (15:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
I'm just wondering. That looks like a steak.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
They're calling it a fermented whole cut steak. They need
to change the name before they start selling them. Yeah.
And because it's grown using fermentation, microbes and all this
other stuff and it grows Okay. In Better Food News,
Guardettos he has a new flavor age Cheddar.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Yay, Okay, Hey, the world doesn't have enough cheddar.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
And Murphy, I know you're a Bugles fan. We have
Bugle's Tabasco flavor now in the store.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Okay, a little bit of kick.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Bring it, Thank you food dude. Coming up next, your
Hollywood Outsider, The latest buzz Jody's Hollywood.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Outsider, brought to you by Allstate.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Jerry Seinfeld is heading back out on the road for
a comedy tour in early twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
My parents didn't even know our name.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
They were ignorant.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
They were negligent.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
We grew up like wild dogs in the sex stage.
You know.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
I saw him stand up live once and I left
there with my face hurting.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
I laughed so much. He really has it down. Yeah,
you know, he's.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Got a stick and you know he has a style
that's all his own. But he really has it down.
So this is a joint tour though, Jerry Seinfeld and
Jim Gaffigan.
Speaker 4 (16:53):
Oh like that good one.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
They're hitting the road again together. They did this a
little bit earlier this year, and Jim's statement is, I
will never rest in helping the struggling comedian Jerry Stein
I mean Seinfeld until he has a household name. Eight
dates in early twenty twenty five, and if it goes well,
maybe they'll add more tickets.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Go and Selle to the general public this Friday.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
Man, that'll be a good show.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
It will be a fun show. I wonder if they
do anything together. We'll see moving on. Actress Margot Robbie
and Jacob Elordi are set to star in a feature film,
which is an adaptation of Weathering Heights. This is not
something we've seen in a very long time. They're going
to begin pre production in twenty twenty five because realize
(17:41):
she is pregnant right now.
Speaker 6 (17:44):
Coming up with Murphy Samon Jody.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Coming to you next, Smitty at eight seven seven three
one zero for MSJ.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
What to know in walking through a haunted house? Because
he knows.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Jump in and join us eight seven seven three one
zero four MSJ.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Hi, I love y'all, Thank you, We love you back.
Speaker 6 (18:06):
So I'm calling about the haunted houses. I've worked in
them for about twenty years and don't do it anymore
old age. But we always said that if we make
you laugh, scream, repeede your pants, then we did a
good job.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
So let me ask you this. Do you as working
in a haunted house?
Speaker 1 (18:27):
I always feel like the people who are working in
there they can spot me a mile away because I'm
extra stared.
Speaker 5 (18:33):
Yes we can.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
What do you see? What are the tell tall? What
are you seeing?
Speaker 5 (18:38):
Your body language it just says it all, which is
tucked up close to the boyfriend or husband, screaming or
hiding before you're even going. In One example, a group
that was getting ready to pay a large group of kids.
There were girls in there that were like, I'm not going,
(19:00):
I'm not going, I'm not going, and just just words
you say body language, it gives it out. Somebody who's
you don't mess with is the guy who's and I
say God, because it's normally a guy whose arms are
folded upright, you know you're not going to scare me
for me. For me, he was the one I want
(19:22):
to ask because you know I'm gonna show you up.
And when I when I got that guy, then the
crowd when crazy, laughing and everything because A you're too cold.
And I totally totally agree about taking your kids and
not forcing them to go. I saw so many parents
(19:42):
and heard them. I paid you're going through and you know,
I'm talking six seven, five years old. They're screaming and
crying not to go. Don't torture your kid like that.
You're going to traumatize them.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
It's true, and they're supposed to be able to trust
you above everyone else, that they are safe with you emotionally.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Amphysics.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
That was It was one of the things I hated
the most, his parents forcing their young children to go.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
You are speaking my language.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
I love that you shared all of this, I need
to work on my body language.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
Well, thank you, Schmitty, We appreciate the call and we
love you. Back Coming up next, Jody has three things
to know today.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Here's three things to know today.
Speaker 4 (20:23):
Brought to you by doctor Marty Nature's Bland.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Number one, the.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Word gumption is trending and it's a very strange and
weird reason. This would be assassin who tried to kill
a former president Donald Trump. And this you know, FBI.
They released this letter that they say he wrote about it.
He's in the letter. It's he I gave it all
the gumption I could muster. And that the letter was
(20:49):
golf course guy or the other guy. This is the
golf course guy, Ryan Wesley Ruth. Anyway, so the word
gumption is trending and that is why that suspect, by
the way, is locked up and awaiting trial.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Number two.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Weighted blankets were so two years ago to get comfy
and reduce stress when trying to go to sleep. For adults,
the new thing is swaddling. When you think of swaddling,
you think of my babies. When you learn how to
swaddle a baby, you never forget how to do that.
But apparently it's a big thing right now. It gets
you into that deep pressure sleep, it releases it reduces
(21:24):
stress hormones, and I guess you have to get your
partner to help somebody wattle up. But it's a sleeping trend.
And number three, there's a friend's game show coming to
Max How Fast Friends. It'll take place film that the
friends experience in New York City in all these real sets,
and you do teams together, you solve puzzles, and you
(21:45):
do trivia to earn the title of ultimate Friends Fan.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
You're in the know.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
Three things to know today.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
I think you're gonna find this one hard to believe.
But you know, we were talking recently about the arguments
that you and Murphy have, Jody.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
The dumb marriage arguments.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Yeah, that was every spouse had. That was enter after
the show podcast one day last week.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yeah, and you've shared a lot of yours. We loved them.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Yeah. Right. It's really funny on our Facebook and Instagram,
so many different shares from different couples.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
That one of my favorite dumb arguments that somebody got
into was whether to open presents on Christmas Eve or
Christmas Morning.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Apparently it was a bad argument.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
And then the one you know about the cup of
coffee being filled half full.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Yeah, and the husband who likes his coffee half full
and if it's higher than that, he's not happy.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
But you know what, every couple's different. Everybody.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Yeah, welcome to marriage people.
Speaker 4 (22:40):
I don't know how to defend that. One. One thing
I was thinking of is the one thing that I
never argued with any of my spouses. By three spouses, okay,
sam h And it was over the folding of clothes.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
I'm so impressed.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Yeah, okay, first marriage, I kind of did most of
the laundry, so there was no one to argue with.
But second one, it's like, when she started folding close,
it's like, this is not the way we fold close.
I didn't say it, I just thought it, Yeah, And
then I realized, you know, everybody's got a different way
of folding clothes. Yes, my way of folding was the
way I was brought up seeing it folded. Hers was
(23:17):
the same. So that was one of those ones where
it's like, this doesn't really matter.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Did she know that you were biting your tongue?
Speaker 4 (23:23):
No, no, I kept it quiet.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
She wouldn't know to this day if you told.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
Well, I mean maybe she would, maybe she picked up
a little maybe she heard me grumpy in the laundry
room or something.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
Yeah, because you know what, that is the one that
has the potential. Not that it can't be discussed, but
you know, it is just folding clothes at the end
of the day, right, It's just better than the alternative,
which is still in a basket or crumpled in a pile.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Awful, that's awful, or you live.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
Alone fold them your way, which is what I do now.
But anyway, by the time I got to spouse number three,
it was a different way than spouse number two. I
had already settled in and it's like, oh, here's another
way I gotta learn.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Did you say anything to spouse Not.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
I just adapted and started folding things that way. Oh so,
I guess I don't really understand. You know, what, is
there an improper way to fold clothes?
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Well, doesn't he ask?
Speaker 1 (24:13):
No, it's it's however you were taught, is what you're
comfortable with.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Yeah, and that's that's it.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
I don't think there's any wrong way as long as
you're folding them and putting them away.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
Yeah, I mean I always folded it where you know,
sleep t shirts. Sleeves go inside and you fold them
in half. Well, some of these people, would you know,
fold them in half down the middle, so you get
the sleeves on the same side. Then you fall underwear.
Same thing Minder wears not folded correct.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
But you know what, you can do your own underwear now,
can't Yes, I can. Welcome to it.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
Coming up, Jody has another Hollywood outsider, and next Sam
has music news.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
Yeah, Journey maybe looking for a new lead singer. I'll
tell you why.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Sam's got music news.
Speaker 4 (24:54):
Brought to you by progressive lead singer for Journey. Arnelle
Paneda has a little poll going on social media right
now because of his performance last weekend at Rock in Rio. Now,
he apparently was a little off key. A lot of
fans posted videos and they were like, get rid of him,
make him leave here it is, but I don't really
hear it.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
Yeah, I will say this, he's struggling a little, but
he's struggling as if maybe with catching his breath. But
he doesn't score a live performance. I mean, a lot
of bands sound worse than that, and nobody's hating no,
but he he has sounded impeccable before. It's almost like
(25:43):
he's competing with himself.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
Apparently he's working with a voice coach because he's had
some issues lately. So anyway, what he did was he
went online and said, hey, I'm sorry, nobody hates it
more than me being off key, and if you don't
want me as the lead singer anymore, just send the
word go, so go or stay. And there's about five
thousand people that have replied so far and most of
them are stay. So he's not going anywhere.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Yeah, he has been belting it out in his defense
for years and it's been impeccable.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
I gotta say, though, if he does leave, there's one
person that could replace.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Him, just saying you think Steve Perry can still hit
those high notes though he can't?
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Great question, good question.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
You know I don't think he can. Hey, we missed
this one over the weekend on Saturday. You know what
day it was? Right?
Speaker 5 (26:28):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (26:29):
Yes? And Questlove from the Roots and Jimmy Fallon. He
took time on Saturday to say, hey, not only is
it this song's day, but I am doing a documentary
on Earth Wind and Fire. Oh nice, that's kind of cool.
He actually won an oscar, remember in twenty twenty two,
he did a document He directed a documentary, so maybe
this will get him another one. It won't be out
(26:50):
till twenty twenty five, and it'll all be on Earth
Wind and Fire. Has the band's approval, has these states approval.
Everything that's cool the story here. Moving on on Gwinston
Fin he dropped a new song on us. Also gave
us some info on her new album. It's called Bouquet,
coming out November fifteenth. And here's the new song.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
Somebody Else.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
It's called somebody Else's and it's rumored to be about
her ex Gavin. You're somebody Else's doesn't break my heart,
You're their problem Now album comes out November fifteenth. Jody
has your Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
Next the latest Buns.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider, brought to you by All State DC
may have found its green lantern, or at least one
of them. So.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
Actor Kyle Chandler is in talks.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
I know you may know him from Friday Night Lights
and Bloodline.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
Sometimes you know something's coming.
Speaker 5 (27:46):
Man.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
I like him, don't sleep at night so much. He's
so warm and fantastical. So anyway, he's gonna play Hal
Jordan on the same Green Lantern that was previously played
by Ryan Reynolds.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Okay, well, this is not a movie.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
It's for HBO's upcoming Lantern's TV series, it's what they
calling it. So he'll play Hal Jordan and he'll partner
with John Stewart and they'll play two intergalactic cops trying
to take on dark mysteries.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Hey, John Stuart from coming No no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
No no. The character's name is John Stuart in the show.
And they're still searching for the person, the actor to
play John Stewart. Y'all up to date?
Speaker 2 (28:25):
Now, yeah, all right.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
Moving on to something sort of sinister over at Netflix.
You know this monsters, the Lyle and Eric Menindez story
is happening.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
I need to know what's going on with you on
the point.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
But the brothers, the Menindez brothers, have not been happy
and the family not been happy with the way this is,
you know, being portrayed. So Netflix said, okay, well let's
do a documentary with you, and so you're gonna get
to hear from them and the family. That one, it's
called The Mendez Brothers, will premiere on Netflix October seventh.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Texter call Us eight seven seven three to one zero
four MSJ.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Love having you along. This show is yours.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
Got an email here and I think it's for you
Jody from my net. Actually I guess it's for everybody. Yes,
I'm looking for a recipe for pimento cheese. Yes, my
husband grew up on the East Coast, in the South End.
We can't find it out here in the west.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
WHOA, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm so sorry to
hear that you can't find it on every corner. We
posted just the other day my grandmother's pimento cheese recipe,
the way she taught me to make it. You can
look at that. It's at Murphy Salmonjody dot com. Now
it's on the main page. You can't miss it. And
there's a beautiful picture of it.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
Is it good?
Speaker 2 (29:38):
What do you think?
Speaker 3 (29:39):
Extra sharp cheddar is the key, right right?
Speaker 1 (29:42):
You do extra sharp cheddar, a block of that and
then a block of sharp cheddar. Now you can go
one golden color and one white if you want white.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
Cheddar for extra sharp.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
But extra sharp is because you're going to sort of
soften it or make it more mild with the mayo
to bind it. And then you're gonna add seasonings. But
the extra sharp is the trick. Don't try it with
regular cheese. That was my grandmother's trick. Uh okay, So
go get the recipe, Annette, and thank you for sending
that in. This is an email that came from Gene.
(30:14):
Hi Msjos. Want to take a minute to let you
guys know how much I love how much fun your
weekend replay podcast is.
Speaker 2 (30:22):

I hope that's a good thing.

I hope. So keep up the good work. Thank you, Gene.
That's from Gene.
