Speaker 1 (00:01):
Game day Grub recipes are online for you for this
weekend at Murphysamonjody dot com. We added homemade burger sauce
the other day. Remember that when you're whipping up burgers,
it's a saucy way to do it without all the
extra condiments. And then Murphy's Ruben slider recipe is up there.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
If you must, you say, I love that.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
I love Rubens. So yeah, that's all at Murphy Salmonjody
dot com. I'm glad you said that just now, Jody,
because I had a guy describe a sandwich to me
the other day that I read about that I've been
hungry forever since. We may want to add this actually
to the game day grub.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Have we ever made it?

Speaker 3 (00:38):
No, we've never made it. It's extremely high in fat,
it's extremely bad for you, which of course means it's
probably gonna taste great. Yeah, but it's an Anthony Bourdin
five ingredient sandwich recipe.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Whoa, and it's.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Done with mortadella. Do you know what mortadella is?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
You are the one that told me what this is.

Speaker 3 (00:55):
So mortadella is like upscale fancy baloney, but it's marbled,
and so it's higher fat, but it's a little more
silky and it's extremely flavorful. If you've ever had, you know,
mortidella winds up being a lot of Italian style sandwiches.
This is a grilled mortodella sandwich that just sounds over
the top. The five five ingredients mortadella. Anthony Boordain uses

(01:17):
provolone cheese. He discovered this one in Brazil. It used
some slightly different ingredients, but he uses provolone and then
recommends a sour dough or a kaiser roll to put
it on, Dijon mustard you can use regular if you
want to. Dijon is a notch up, and then whatever
mayo that you want. And the mortadella is really the
centerpiece of this, because you heat up your grill and

(01:37):
you put two small piles of mortadella, probably two to
three slices each in two different piles, and you start
to let that crisp a little bit around the edges,
not overcooked, but kind of the way you know any
meat would do in the skillet like that, and then
you put provolone on top of that and allow that
to melt while everything continues to crisp. Once that's done,
and you can tell by looking at it when it's

(01:59):
smarty and done a little bit bron Chris. You stack
it on the bread that you've already dressed with the
mayo and the dijon. Okay, well, I'm sorry, back up
a step. You have to actually take those guyser roles,
he says, and put it in that grease.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Of course, that's your secret.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
You just removed the mortadella and the pan from and
then brown nose. Then you put your mayo Dijon and
those piles. It sounds off the charts. It sounds hard stopping.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
To be shout out for the dijon.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
It's not regular mustard, won't do You do need something
with that extra spark, and that's what Dijon offers.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Jon mixed with mayo two just sounds really good.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
There is You can also just make it yourself at home.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
So this one, you know, it's worth the try.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Let's do it this weekend.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
I think I had Sam and Anthony bourdein on this.
Coming up in six fifty, Jody has three things to
note today.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Coming up next though, great ideas if you are trying
to name the family pet.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
When you've got a new family.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Pet chances are you've got the situation of naming that pet,
and you know everyone probably hopefully needs to get a
say in it, get a vote in it.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
It's a whole thing.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
You know.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
We've had dogs that we've had around for weeks before
we just you know, decided on a name. Murphy, a
lot of times we would we rescue and the dog
knows their name, already had a shelter.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
But if you you.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Know, have a pet that doesn't know its name, like
the Beard and Dragons, you know, you can take your
time and you can name them as a family. And
I bring it up because our oldest Taylor still working
out a doggy daycare and she sends us pictures all
the time, and she's always telling us about all the
dogs and she knows them all by name. You know,
she loves it when Bach is there. He's her one

(03:42):
of her favorite dogs, you know, things like that. And
that's a cute name for a dog, Bach, it's his name.
And so she was spitting out and I just want
to give you guys some ideas from doggy daycare of
the greatest names in these rooms.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Here's one that Murphy liked a lot. Willis.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
I love that name. I think that is a cool
dog's name.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
So funny, it's just what you're talking about.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Willis a regular dog name is just like yeah, yeah,
because like one of my exes they named a cat Kevin,
and I.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Just thought you thought that was fantastic.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Yeah, and it's like it has nothing to do with
a cat, but that's that's why it's great.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Yeah, correct a dog that's wanted to talk about this.
Then there's a Louis in the room.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Yeah, he looks like a Louis. Uh.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
There's a Tigger in the room. I like that too.
I like that. That's fun. The reason I want to
share this is because if you get to decide as
a family, sometimes you get stuck for creativity. But once
you start calling a dog, especially a name, they know it.
It sticks to them, so you're going to be stuck
with it. Basically, there's a Sadie. There's a Luna in
the room. We told you about Axel. Axel's a big bulldog. Yeah,

(04:52):
he's really funny. There's a Cash.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
As Johnny, just a cash.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I think Cash is black though, to be all the
man in black the dog in.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Black unless his dad, you know, his owner is an
it guy than it's c oh.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I need to ask Taylor.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
My favorite one though in the room is Prada.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
I love problem.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
He's a boxer and I'm thinking that's a you could
go down the designer path. Ideas for you. Good luck
with it with your families. Coming up next, your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
Trending now, Jody's Hollywood Outsider, brought.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
To you by All State.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Most ladies of several generations.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Remember the first time that you saw Brad Pitt For me,
it was in this beautiful movie.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Ladies, gentlemen, let's see wins prize keeping their coup.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Simon says, everybody down on the floor.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
That's before he was a household name. But after Thelmon Louise,
he was a household name. He was so funny and
good in that movie. And then after that he was
a movie star. He literally went from the guy that
nobody knew who he was to a movie star. So
Brad Pitt, I just want he's not involved in this story,
but there are five people who were arrested for posing

(06:03):
as Brad Pitt online and scamming women about money, getting money,
pretending really friending them, spending the time to instant message
them online, and then email them, and they thought they
were having this personal.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Hot dialogue goal.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
I think that talking just to them they lucky.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
These scammers took the time to emotionally bond with them
as Brad Pitt. And then for some reason, these women
believe that Brad needed money. And so I know, I
just want to say to anyone in the world, anytime
someone online that you've only just met and they eventually
ask you for money, you should be highly suspicious of that. Okay,

(06:47):
and by the way, these people are in jail now.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
I'm really disappointed to hear this because Brad Pitt's one
of my best friends.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Okay, Grateful Friday is next Grateful Friday.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Join us and we like especially to hear about the little,
simple things that you're grateful for eight seven seven three
one zero four MSJ. Of course, the big stuff is obvious,
and you can send us anything you want to. Pam
sent Grateful for friends who will cry with you even
when they know when they know you're going through something difficult.
Not just even when, but when, but when. Friends are

(07:24):
very important. You're grateful for mine too. The older you get,
even if your friend's circle gets smaller. Yeah, you understand
how special it is in life. It is necessary in
life to have a friend. And isn't that funny how
when you're young, when you're even first grade, that's what
you want the most, is a friend.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Yeah. Hey, remember I told you the story a bunch
of times about my mom and her girls. Yes, Sam,
they've been together since the sixties. I don't mean her age,
I mean the nineteen sixties. They go out to eat
once a month together. Yeah, there's only a few left.
They've added people too, but the originals. There's my mom
and like two three others.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
That's special eighties.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Wow, so sweet grateful Friday. I want to say that
I'm grateful that you. Sam brought me some pretzels this week.
Sam brought snacks and it's like the cinnamon twist pretzels.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
And even brought those. Sam Jodie's been buying those so much.
I thought that was a bag from the house.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
She told me that she couldn't find them past week
or so.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
He brought them in on Monday and I had made
a grocery order Monday, so I have a a bag here.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Hey, that's great.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
I'm grateful for it.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Okay, Daphne said, I'm Grateful for a career I love,
even when I don't feel appreciated. I'm a teacher. Oh,
I'm sorry you feel that way sometimes. Yeah, big, big
influence you have even if you don't see it on
the daily, you have big influence as a teacher. Jacqueline says,
my dog, grateful for She's bad sometimes, but a comfort

(08:50):
to me when I'm having a rough day.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Well that's truth.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
I can't tell you how many times Gus has had
an accident in the house and it doesn't matter. I mean,
it matters, but it doesn't matter. He's still my dog.
It's so fun.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Having a dog can be. I know that they poop
in the house sometimes, but it's an uncomplicated relationship.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
It's pure.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Sabrina says, grateful because I'm going to see my son
this weekend at college. He's four hours away and I
don't get to visit very often. So grateful for that.
And bless you all. Keep it coming. We like hearing
from you and having you along.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Jody has three things to Know Today. Coming up next.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Three things to Know Today.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
Brought to you by Doctor Marty. Nature's blame.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Number one, Hurricane Helene made landfall last night as expected
as a Category four hurricane, bringing a lot of damage
and darkness. It made landfall around eleven pm Eastern time.
The winds were one hundred and forty mile an hour
at landfall. At the Florida Panhandle. It was about forty
five miles east of Tallahassee. So the storm is forecast

(09:58):
to continue to bring a lot of rain, flooding, power outages,
all of it to Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and the Carolinas
of course. Number two, speaking of emergencies, four NFL stadiums
have been chosen as emergency shelters. The NFL has worked
with FEMA about this, so it's Akroscher Stadium in Pittsburgh,

(10:18):
met Life in Jersey, Lumenfield in Seattle, and Raymond James
Stadium in Tampa. We're all chosen because they are close
to roadways, hospitals, and they're all compliant to become a shelter.
And number three, it's about that time of the year.
Apple TV has let us know they're going to give
us the Peanuts holiday specials for free.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
For non subscribers.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
So the Great Pumpkin comes first October nineteenth and twentieth
then in November, of course, we get a Charlie Brown
Thanksgiving two days, the twenty third and twenty fourth, and
then the Christmas special will be on December fourteenth and fifteenth.
And by the way, the Peanuts franchise celebrating its seventy
five fifth anniversary this year.

Speaker 5 (11:01):
You're in the note three things to Know Today Jody's
Top five entertainment stories of.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
The Week, brought to you by t Mobile.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Number five, music by Millie Vanilli has been skyrocketing this week,
like all of their hits, and it's because they're being streamed,
because everybody's like, oh, remember that, all the people who
are watching Monsters the Menindez brother anthology series on Netflix,
because you know, music is a part of that storytelling.

(11:30):
And so from the murdering of the parents to all
the subsequent trials, the music shows up and Millie Vanilli's
getting a bump.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Well, all that happened the same year this song.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Exactly exactly right.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
Number four.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Reese Witherspoon made a big announcement this week that a
lot of people were waiting for.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
As you probably know, we at Hello Sunshine are partnering
with Amazon to launch a new television show called l
which is the prequel to Legally Blonde. We are starting
the casting process and we are making it open.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Open auditions, so anybody in the world can audition to
be the young el Woods. And this TV show will
be executive produced by Reese Witherspoon.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
She will be on the set.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Number three, Disney Plus is cracking down on password sharing.
They're going to allow you to add a member outside
of your household for an extra seven bucks a month
for Disney Plus Basic, ten bucks more a month for
Disney Plus Premium, but only one extra member per account
is allowed. Netflix did the same thing and they've had

(12:34):
success with it, you know, without a lot of cancelations.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Number two Friends is getting the.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Game show man, do you think you could win this?
There's a lot of fanatics. The game show is called
Fast Friends. It'll be a four part series filmed at
the Friends Experience in New York City, where you with
a team of friends, you do trivia, you do puzzles,
you play games, and whoever the quickest team is to
get all everything right you get the tie of Ultimate

(13:00):
Friends fan I think that you can win some cash
prizes as well. And filming on this one begins in
a month, so we'll probably see this show in twenty
twenty five. Number one, This is a big story. Rapper
fifty cent is making a docuseries about the downfall of
Sean Diddy.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Colmbs.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Word is he was already working on this before the
indictments came down, before the arrests were happening, and his
statement this week was this, this is a story with
significant human impact. It's complex, The narrative spans decades, not
just the headlines of the clips that you are seeing now.
And the word is Netflix is committed to it. So

(13:41):
there may be some early parts that we get soon,
and then as this goes on for years and years,
they're going to continue to add to the docuseries.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Wow, Jody's top five entertainment stories of the week. Coming
up next, Sam was the food Dude.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
Yeah, I hope you're ready for Dolly Parton home delivery meals.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Sam's always up on the new eats. He's the food
Do brought to you by Chick fil A.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
You know, Dolly Parton and her sister have a cookbook
that's out now called Good Looking Cooking. Yeah, it's kind
of like Family Recipes. Well, they have a new partnership
and you may be able to get some of those
meals at your house. They've teamed up with home Chef,
one of the meal delivery services, and the home Chef
is whipping up not all the recipes in the book,
but just a handful of them. So if you want
to like go buy it there and also see what

(14:24):
it tastes like, it's already done for you.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Just smoky Mountain food there.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Yeah, to order that from home Chef. Hey, guess what
they spotted at Costco? Now Costco hasn't confirmed this, but
it's been spotted. You know, one of those heater things
that they put bread in and like when you go
to the store you can.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Take a hot loaf of bread out of it.

Speaker 4 (14:42):
Well, they have a pizza in there now. Apparently at
some of the stores you no, not the oven. Instead
of having to do the kiosk and order the pizza
from the guy that it's going to be like, walk up,
grab a pizza. They pay for it.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Okay, Well, when you have like a your kids coming
over for a birthday party and you're going to go
grab a pizza at Costco, that's you literally grab it now.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Yeah, yeah, I just worried that people might walk in and,
you know, buy ten out of time and then they're out. Hey. Yeah,
you just have to deal with that. Hey, check it's
this out. Fifty cent boneus wings coming to Applebee's.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Wait wait, wait, fifty cent? Yeah you mean they called
fifty cents.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Yeah, they're fifty cents.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Oh okay, I thought you meant they were they were.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
No, no, no, they're not in the shape of his
face or anything. No, they're just fifty cent boneless wings
right now. Or you know, it's a good price, not
chicken nuggets whatever you want to call them, Taco Bell.
You know, they brought back the big giant cheese it
for the crunch rap. But here's what's really cool. They're
also offering an a la cartman. You you can order
the big cheese it by itself for just a dollar.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
I want to do that.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
I don't really care about the other stuff.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
A big cheese I think it?

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Is it a big sixteen inches? I think so, like
a No, no, not sixteen inches, Well that's a huge
eight inches like a plate, like a little plate, small plate.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
Yes, here's a ice cream company called Smearcase. First of all,
work on the name but they are making their ice
cream with cottage.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Cheese, right, Cottage cheese is having its moment.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
Yeah, peanut butter, vanilla bean, or mocha, and they're calling
it froco.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Well, it's got protein and it's good for you, and
it makes things creamier and it's got cottage cheese.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
I got it.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
The latest Buzz.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider brought to you by Allstate.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
We've got dates for you about the second half of
season five of yellow Stone.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Are you alruady?

Speaker 1 (16:35):
November tenth will be the first original episode that we've
seen of this show in twenty two months. Okay, So
here's where you can catch it. Paramount Network will not
be the only place you can catch it, like in
seasons before, CBS will air the premiere two hours after
it drops on Paramount Plus. So it'll be a big
Sun day. It's always a Sunday night for CBS. They've

(16:58):
got an NFL double header in the afternoon, then they'll
have Yellowstone, and then they have a new episode of
that show Tracker that they launched right after a Super
Bowl recent Yeah, so they're calling this season five b
you know, the second half of the final season and
the one that's not supposed to have Kevin Costner at all,
and we're not supposed to care.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Hey, Horizons shown up on a couple of the other streamers.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
Yes, if you have five hours, you might want to
watch it.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
All right, Let's move on to Ryan Murphy's new show,
Grotesque Aree. By the way, it dropped this week. It
premiered on FX and then hit Hulu yesterday. It's one
of those American horror story type shows. Starry Travis Kelcey
this time, and he said, the word is the guy's
a star. And did Taylor Swift have any part in this? Well,
she gave him some advice if you were interested in this,

(17:45):
you should do it that.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
She was super supportive coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Grateful Friday continues in a personal message for you, Sam
from Stacey.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
Follow us on Instagram, Facebook and.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
YouTube hearing from you.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
There so much coming in Grateful Friday comment comments. This
one from Brie. I'm grateful to have finished my workout
this morning. It was tough, but it is done and
I can move on with my day life and weekend.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Congrats. There's nothing that feels better than that little rush
of endorphins after that.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Murphy when you when you come home from a workout,
he is playful, he is jokey, and he's offering to
open anything for you.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Having trouble open those pickles, Jody, give me. I just
lifted so and so much weight. Let me get that
for you, a little lady.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
You know when you're feeling ready to help.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
When you've got the endorphins running. I know it does
feel good. It's that's the thing about exercise. Not to
take this off track, but the benefit. Everybody wants to
tell you you build muscle and you burn fat. All
that's true, but the actual benefit really is self respect.
Just you, you dis respect yourself too. There's a psychological component, comp.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
There's definitely a psychological component to it.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
I think, Yeah, does Murphy flex when he opens those
you are?

Speaker 3 (19:00):
I mean, no, I don't.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
It's in the mirror.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
It's an impressure too much.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Okay, this is.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
A tax from eight seven seven three one zero for
ms J says Hi Stacy. Here this is for Sam.
I just gave my daughter my house and I moved
into an apartment. I too realize stuff just doesn't mean
as much. It's the relationships in life that matter. You
guys are awesomeness listen every day.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Now, that is part of it. I'm starting to realize
that stuff doesn't matter. I mean some stuff does.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Your lightsabers, yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
Hey, but not everything. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Some stuff becomes clutter, isn't it weird?

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (19:42):
And you and I'm looking. I'm thinking this is down
to now, but in a couple of years down the road,
three or four years down the road, downsizing because nobody's
coming to the four bedroom house to hang out with
me anymore.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
I'm sorry, that's.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
That's just you're not using that as a guilt tripper
by right, all right?

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Yeah, when you you have a goal like that and
a plan, what are you doing on the daily to
get to it?

Speaker 4 (20:03):
Though? All right, right now? Nothing, I said three or
four years. I'll probably wait three and a half and
then start looking.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
He said, it's a plan, not an action.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Yeah, that's not really red but like little steps, little
steps for big plans.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
Oh, there is a little step I'm talking about it.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Keep it coming, you know. We love having you along
join us anytime.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
Coming up next, Jody has three things to know today.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
Here's three things to know today.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Brought to you by Doctor Marty Nature's blank Number one.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Hurricane Helen made landfall as a Category four storm late
last night, and it's as big and bad as it
was predicted to be. One hundred and forty mile an
hour winds that storm surge alone. Actually there were some
deaths at the time of landfall. For this For now,
flooding is the biggest concerns. A lot of darkness and

(20:52):
a lot of power out millions without power, and then
a lot of flooding. And the advisory is to stay
out of the flood waters.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
You don't know what's in to really take you away.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
You have to be super careful. Something to watch over
the weekend for sure. Number two free COVID home tests
are available again. The at home COVID nineteen test launched
this week yesterday a relaunched by the government. So you
go to covid dot gov slash test to order four
test per household.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
I don't know if you ever do this, but I
do it every time they offer it.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
I think we did it once, but I know you
have you.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
Done that going to the house time this.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Time of the year too.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
You know we're about to be getting back together in
big groups and football and holiday stuff, and they say
it's good to know and have the test you know
right there at home. And number three you had mentioned
it in food Dude, Sam, Coca Cola for sure is
discontinuing spiced coke after just six months in the stores.
It was supposed to have a hint of raspberry and

(21:50):
then the spice would kind of take over after a
few SIPs, and it sure did, but it's going to
be gone.

Speaker 6 (21:57):
You're in the know.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
Three things to know today, Sam's got music news brought
to you by Progressive.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
Coming up October nineteenth, the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame induction ceremonies coming our way. And they dropped a
list of performers slash presenters on us that is just
like amazing now as far as performers go. One of
the inductees we know performing his share also performing the inductees,
Mary J. Blige, Foreigner, also Dave Matthew's band, Peter Frampton,

(22:28):
and the cool in the gang.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Is everybody on tell me about the gang.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Tribe called Quest will not be performing obviously because some
of the members are no longer there. And what I
have doesn't say Ozzie is going to be performing, so
I don't know about that. Well, well, the physical illnesses
that he has. I'm sure he's going to be there.
Maybe they'll surprise us and they'll have a big thing
at the end and Ozzie will come out and do

(22:55):
crazy train or something crazy. Also, among the other folks
that are going to be there, Dua Lipa. These people,
we don't know if they're presenting or performing, Doctor Dre,
Demi Lovado, James Taylor, Jelly Roll, Julia Roberts, Keith Urban's
gonna be there, Kenny Chesney, it's just ridiculous, Roger Daltrey,

(23:15):
Sammy Hagarth, Slash Huge.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
If Julia Roberts is gonna induct share or something like,
what's the Julia Roberts?

Speaker 4 (23:25):
Was she a MoMA man?

Speaker 2 (23:26):
He said the puzzle?

Speaker 4 (23:27):
She was not. Probably, You're right, I love Julia. Okay,
it seems to fit. Stevie Nix has got some news
for us. She's dropping a new song on us today.
This song is called Lighthouse. Now. I do have a
little snippet of it because she posted it online, but
that's all I got, and it's real short. I don't want

(23:47):
to teach him to say, that's it. Sorry, it's called
Lighthouse you can catch chills. Yeah, don't know anything about
an album. I just know the song is dropping today
and this one, I know, this is the news that
everybody's been waiting for today. But come in November fifteenth,
we're getting a brand new album from Nickelback. It's their
first ever live album called Nickelback Live from Nashville. They

(24:11):
recorded it during on their tour last year.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
So okay, well that's cool. That's better than an album
called Nickelback sounds like all the rest.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Thanks for that, Murph coming up next.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Proof that you need to spend as much time as
you can, even that they're busy with your growing adult children.
When your children get older and you see them less
and less because life and they get busy. Maybe kids
don't even realize this, but I will find any excuse
to spend time with my kids, with Taylor and Phoebe now,

(24:43):
and I actually love it so much because you get
to see them begin to, you know, do their things
their own way and the little adulting things. But you
also realize they still need you in many ways. You
have these conversations. I have a couple of examples So Phoebe,
our youngest, she's had some car trouble re and I
had to pick her up and bring her to the
car place. And we were in the lobby in the

(25:05):
waiting room waiting for her car to be done the
other day, and we were just sitting there together and
just talking. And once we kind of finished one subject,
we got quiet and she was looking around the waiting room. Now,
you guys know what waiting rooms sometimes look like at
a auto repair place. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Well, yeah, they usually have cool things in there, like
quicker state lamps, and there's tires, and there's like.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
A dozen magazines you judge Judy on the TV.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Right, you know, Field and stream magazines and paneling, and
it's just the way it looks does not matter, and
you know there's not it's not designer, right.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
And everything got really quiet.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Very very clean.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
So anyway, so Phoebe, we.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
Got quiet for a second and she was looking around
and I didn't say anything. She said, you know, this
lobby could be cuter, said, but the coke machine is
a nice touch. And she just cracked me up with
that because I wasn't going to say anything about it.
But knowing her mind and me, you know, we're just
like that, like you could so spruce this up, but
it's not a girl's thing.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Anyway, the other thing that I'm doing with Taylor, who's
our oldest she is living at home now, anything to
spend time with her. And she came to me one
day a few weeks ago and says, Mom, I would
kind of like to know what this Game of Thrones
thing's all about.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
And I'm like, I'll watch it with you again.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Yeah. I thought I was, you know, free of the
medieval sounds coming from the family room. So now I
once again all I'm hearing is Okay.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
I'm happy to report that she loves it because I
want her to love it.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
I want to bond with her on this.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
But Sam, I want to tell you, in the first
few episodes, she was like, Ned Stark is my favorite
character who and for all the Game of Thrones fans,
you'll know how precious that is.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (27:07):
Trending.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
Now Jody's Hollywood Outsider, brought to you by All State.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Will the real Brad Pitt please stand up.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
Ladies, gentlemen, let's see wins prize keeping her cool.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Simon says, everybody down on the floor and they'll.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
Say that's the best thing he ever did, the best
performance ever. Okay, so we were telling you earlier about
some Brad Pit scammers scamming unsuspecting women out of money,
and of course Brad Pitt is never going to on
social media ask you for money. In fact, Brad Pitt
has no social media accounts. If you see a Brad
Pitt account, it's somewhat it's a fan driven account or

(27:41):
it was scammers.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
Never thought of that.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Brad Pitt has no real social media He doesn't want to,
he doesn't need to. But his people have released a
statement about these fake scams.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
It's off. This is the statement.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
It's awful that scammers take advantage of fans strong connection
with celebrities. And this is an important reminder who not
respond and to unsolicited online outreach, especially from actors who
have met who have no social media presence. So it
is a big lesson for anybody careful who you think
you're talking to. Hotocopy made some big, a big announcement

(28:15):
this week.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
At the Today Show. Did you hear about it? She's
leaving the Today Show?

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Oh, no, it's kind of sad after two decades, but
she wants to focus on her kids. She has two
kids that she had late in life, and so she's
going to stay until January first. That's nice, and they
say she'll always still be a part of the NBC family. Though.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
We love to know what you are binging, and we.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Try to let you know when we are watching something
and enjoying Sam you're up.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Yeah, I watched the new Ellen special. I couldn't wait.
I was going to wait till the weekend.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
Oh, she's got that stand ups.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
But yeah, it's an hour and ten minutes, by the way,
so you little extra there, and she does come out
for a quick, little longcore.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Oh good.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Let you know, I'm not going to give away all
the beats.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
It's Netflix.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
It's Netflix. It's called for your approval, and it is.
It's very laid back compared to her other specials. Okay,
and you kind of get that vibe that, hey, it's
what she's trying to present that I'm out of Hollywood
and I'm just chilling at the house now. And that's
kind of the vibe you get through the whole thing.
Even though she's a comedian and she's telling jokes.

Speaker 6 (29:15):
Dashboard lights are not illuminated all the time, so when
they are, it must mean something serious, right, But check engine,
that's vague.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
I've checked it.

Speaker 6 (29:25):
It's there, and I shouldn't have to guess from an
exclamation point between two parentheses that my tire pressure.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
Is low, exactly. And you know, we shared part of
the trailer where she's talking about raising chickens. Now she's
got a whole good five or ten minutes on the chickens,
and it's just hilarious.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
You know, chickens.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
I bet that's funny because I kind of well, we
had chickens when I was a little girl.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
So yeahh I need to watch this.

Speaker 4 (29:51):
Yeah. And she also talks about loving animals, all animals
in general, and helping animals out.

Speaker 6 (29:56):
I rescued a pigeon one time. I saw one legged
pigeon on the street near where I lived, and I
took it home. And I didn't know how to take
care of it. I mean, you know, never had a pigeon,
So I just threw gum and trash down jert, thinking
that's what it eats, you know, because I've never seen it.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
I don't know, no one just had me dying on
the floor.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
I mean, well, she also grew up in New Orleans.

Speaker 4 (30:20):
Yeah, and she does like a couple of minutes on
pigeons too, about how stupid they are.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
Does she really go there, like we were told about
kind of being kicked out of Hollywood and so she canceled.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
She goes there, but she doesn't get into specifics like
this person said this, and that's not true, and this
is not true. And she just talks about in general
about how you know, she how hard it is thought
she was a kind person, and they have been misconstrued.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (30:42):
The first I heard about it, I came across a
headline that said, how Ellen DeGeneres became the most hated
person in America. Now I didn't see the other names
on the ballot, but it's a horrible thing to say
about somebody. And to make it worse, there was no trophy,
no awards, banquet, nothing.

Speaker 4 (31:01):
It's definitely definitely worth a watch.
