Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to part two of Today's Murphy, Sam and Jody
Daily Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
When you are watching true crime or some sort of
documentary that you're watching about yourself, it's something that you
are consuming. I don't know if everyone's like me. If
I hear Murphy walk in the door in another part
of the house and I hear him coming to word wait, wait,
I hear him coming toward me in the family room
and I'm watching, for instance, like The Fall of Ditty,
which I'm watching. Now, what do you think I do? Sam?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
You hit pause?

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Yes, why do you think I do that?

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Well, it could be a number of things. You want
your own show, Yeah, or yes, you know that Murphy's
going to walk in stand there for about three minutes.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
And go what's this?

Speaker 3 (00:40):
What's this? Or ask why this is happening? And then
you got to stop and explain it.

Speaker 5 (00:43):
I love all the speculation.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
While I'm right, I.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Didn't see you.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
It's really not speculation. It is true you would be
interested in what I was watching, especially in that first
episode and the editor of Vibe magazine telling her story
about when she first met Ditty. I thought, I remember thinking,
Murphy find this interesting, But I'm already thirty minutes in.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
So here's the thing about that. I've learned not to
ask questions anymore. But I am very susceptible to the distraction,
So you're correct about that. I will just stand there.
I don't even make myself comfortable.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
I just will.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
You know, it's like bright shiny, and I don't even
know what this is, right, but I'm stuck, right.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
I mean, I want you to know, though it's obviously
common for something about, well, it's okay to want your
own things in life. You know, when I'm reading a book.
I'm reading a book, and you can tell, fine.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
If this is well Murphy, you can answer this to
or confirm it. I think I don't know if Murphy
would make it through that whole series. I think Murphy
would get hit his sill first episode. I mean because honestly,
on the first episode it's like, Okay, this is who
is the person he is? And the other episodes just
back all that up with other examples.

Speaker 5 (01:48):
Do you other people, do you have the ability?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I have not tried this because I know you can
do it on YouTube on you're can you speed it
up like one and a half times to watch it faster?

Speaker 5 (01:56):
On TV. All I hope not.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
I mean that'll get you through it. It's more efficient.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
You're crime about being more efficient?

Speaker 5 (02:05):
Heay, God knows, there's so much content. I don't watch
it fast.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Crime all over the place. I gotta get on it.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I want to say this though. It's not just you.
This is not just a you know, pause it because
here comes Murphy. I've paused it when here comes Taylor. Oh,
I don't want I.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
Just and here's the other thing.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I want company.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
And when they were younger, you're watching Game of Thrones,
you pause it sometimes on the really wrong things like
please go up and plug the TV.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
All right?

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Coming up next. Three things to Know Today.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Three things to Know.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Today brought to you by Stay Farm.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Number one, the NFL is letting us know that the
Superdome is the safest place to be during Super Bowl
fifty nine this coming Sunday. Not only did they dispatch,
they partnered with Homeland Security. They dispatched about five hundred
FBI personnel who've already been there all week, investigating the areas,
doing whatever they can to prevent threat.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
I know the dogs are gone through the dome earlier.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
This week, correct, and they've already had these security measures
in place. They've been planning this for two years.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
And the President's going to be there, so Secret Service
will be there.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Too, right, very tight this weekend. Number two, after so
many recent air disasters, namely in the United States, Washington,
d C. And then Philly a week later, are we
Americans sort of afraid to fly right now? Yes? Is
the answer. It just heightens anxiety for that and the
airplind yeah, and the airlines see that change in their business.

(03:32):
It's just how it is. It becomes a part of
our psyche until it calms down and nothing like this
happens for a while. Number three. Grammy Weekend raised a
lot of money for charity for the LA area, which
is so so cool, and all those performances. The Recording
Academy partnered with Music Cares and they raised about twenty

(03:55):
four million for wild fire relief just that week again
and they did it all that's amazing. And then nine
million was raised on Grammy Sunday alone. You're in the
note three things to know today. People who know you best,
live with you, people you love, your family, friends, They

(04:16):
can see things about you that you can't see yourself.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
We agree that Yeah, like lack of fashion. Since I'm talking.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
About me, Okay, nobody says you have lack of fashion.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Well, there's sometimes the shirt doesn't go with the pants,
and you've told me, you know, which I'm grateful for.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
By the way, it sounds like a great title, the shirt.
Sometimes the shirt doesn't go with the pants.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
We are talking about you, though, Murphy, because you know
the reason that you don't know that I've been binge watching,
you know, the Diddy documentary or all that, because you've
been so focused in on something that you're doing. It's
a project in your office and your man cave. And
I understand that and know that I do accept that
about you. And you know this about Murphy, Sam because

(04:59):
you've been friend.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Forever longer than you.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yeah, I know his attention. He when he's focused on something,
the building could be crumbling around him and he is
focused in Yeah, right, so much so. The other night,
Taylor was working late, our oldest was working late, and
she got in at around twelve thirty. I was asleep, obviously, Murphy.

(05:22):
I mean, Taylor goes out to Murphy's man cave office
and says, Dad, where are you still up? And you said,
I said.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
No, you're home early, baby.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
She's like, it's not early, Dad.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
She has had discussions with me about that on like
sidebar discussions with like I think Dad could be tested
for an attention issue, and I'm like, yeah, but it
works in our favor. He's so he's such a great
problem solver.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
So you know, it's it's it's a weird irony because
I'm easily distracted, but I'm also like crazy focused when
I'm zoned in. It's like two totally different extremes. You know.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Have you noticed that it's gotten worse or more intense
the older you get?

Speaker 5 (06:03):
No, I think I'm Have you noticed for me?

Speaker 4 (06:07):
Yeah, I don't know if there is such a thing
as an adult on set eighty h D, But I think
because of the multitasking world and jumping and jumping.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
That's a good point.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Maybe I feel like there's times I just I'm pulled
and just go where they.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Is, and it could exaggerate something that was at the
service before. But you didn't have that much coming at you.
Maybe I don't know, you.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Know what I'm saying, Oh this is heavy.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Yes, I mean, I don't know, but it's it's it's
weird because yes, when I'm in a zone, and it's
not just a zone, it's when I'm trying to troubleshoot
and solve something. I am so focused, tenacious, whatever bulldog is,
whatever you want to call it, that I and until
it's resolved, I don't let go.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Yeah, So for I mean, it's really not a problem,
but it is noted.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
I feel like it's been a problem because I haven't
been in the house for two days.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Because it's good to see you here at work, honey.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Coming up next, Sam has Music News.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Oh yeah, what happens when you get the Joe Brothers
together with Rascal Flats.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Sam's got music News, brought to you by T Mobile.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
A couple of trios have gotten together.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Rascal Flats you've heard of them, and the Jonas Brothers
you've heard of them. They've gotten together to make a
six piece ensemble just for one song. Though Jonas Brothers
are currently working on.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
A new album, and when in a Christmas movie.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
Writing the songs, it's like, hey, we got a song
here that Rascal Flats would sound good on with us,
So it's called like Dare You. It's Rascal Flats and
Jonas Brothers it's good.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
That's an interesting combo. What would make them think that
that's something?

Speaker 3 (07:40):
This is not.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
No, it's just Nick was writing the song with one
of the guys from Dan and Shay, and for some
reason they both like, you know, they.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Were good on the chorus here.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
They must have heard it.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
You get Rascal Flats and then they sing the chorus,
and you get the Jonas brothers and they sing the chorus.
So everybody is on this one. I don't know the
album yet, but when it's coming out, but it's supposed
to be on the Jonas album And if you're a
Rascal Flats fan, they go on tour starting next week.
If you remember, we told you that one of the
Grammy parties that was going to be happening was Stephen
Tyler's and Aerosmith was going to get back together for

(08:11):
this special party. Well the party happened, but Aerosmith didn't
show up, only the bassist and uh, Stephen Tyler. So
Stephen Tyler did sing at his part. He sang walk
this Way, he sang sweet emotion, and then the guys
from Extreme were there, so he sang more than words.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (08:36):
I think that that's better than I expected, considering we
heard that his vocals were shot.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
He blew out his vocal chords. But he's that's not
Aerosmith screaming, but you know still it's singing.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Yeah, it's definitely him. Yeah, you can hear it. Okay.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
And also back to the Grammys over the weekend. You
remember how they opened the Grammys with DAWs singing I
Love LA with Brad Paisley and John Legend. Well, Dawes
was like, Hey, this one over so good. Let's record
it and put it out as a song. So they
have released it and they're going to sell the single

(09:13):
to benefit Music Cares as Los Angeles Fire relief Efforts.
So if you buy the single, download the single, it's
all going to go for fire relief efforts.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Well, thank you, Sam.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Coming up next, Jody Haws your Hollywood Outsider Trending Now,
Jody's Hollywood.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Outsider, brought to you by all State.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
We are getting a new SpongeBob movie and it's coming
to Netflix. It's called Plankton the Movie.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Welcome to Beatini Bottom at the bottom of the Ocean.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
All right, hold it right there, this is just the
beginning of my movie. All right, do you want to
be nice to see nothing's changed.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Correct. Here's the premise. Plankton's computer wife Karen. It's fed
up with everything, decades of scheming and all of that
she's leading him, and he realizes, oh gosh, I've lost
my partner in crime and the love of my life.
So he agrees begrudgingly to help SpongeBob and his friends
save Bikini Bottom. I don't know why that has to do.

(10:13):
Isn't every movie about saving the world?

Speaker 3 (10:16):
So he doesn't need the recipe this time, I guess.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
So, Plankton, will you watch this? I mean, as much
as we all love SpongeBob, I like the episodes, I
like the small bites. Yeah, so a movie is you know,
I'll put it on. It might be fantastically hilarious. It's
the second one.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Yeah, the old ones are just the way they're drawn,
and the humor just seems funnier.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
And it's shorter. Yeah, it's like more bite sized. All right,
moving on, here's something fun. America's Got Talent Season twenty
is coming. Auditions are underway and mel B will be
replacing Heidi Klumb this time as a judge. Simon Cowell
coming back, Howie Mandel and of course Sophia Vergara. Sam

(10:56):
brought goodies today to get us all ready for Super Bowl?

Speaker 5 (10:59):
Did you I.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Brought a game grub, not a butter dip.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Yes, it's a sweet sweet dip.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Definitely a sweet dip. I've been watching this one. I've
been wanting to make it since before Christmas. Okay, I
finally got around to it. I figured let's do it
for the game day.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
I'm not the biggest fan of sweet dips, but I
know it surprised me.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
When you first ate a piece some of it, you were.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Like wow, actually, my oh wow reaction to that dip.
I don't know if you agree, Murphy, because you had
some too. It tastes exactly like another of us.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
It does.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
It's crazy, it does taste like another butter. But as
I found with most sweet dips, if you've never had them,
to me, they all have one thing in common, which
is there insanely rich. So once you've had like two
or three bites, you're like, okay.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Enough, yeah right, you know why because you've taken something
that's already sweet in nature and you just creamed it up.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Yeah. And most of them usually have cream cheese, which
is like.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
Is that what it is?

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Cream cheese, powdered sugar, and peanut butter. Just a couple
of tablespoons a peanut butter and I used Jeff by
the way, And you mix that all up and get it.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Like smooth, and then you crunch up about.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
Ten or twelve nut butter butters and I put them
in a zip lock and I beat them with a
rolling pin.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
That's fine, Uh, take it out your frustrations.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Yeah, on some.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
Cookies poured those that poured that in and poured in
a tub of cool whip, the small, the eight ounce tough,
and then you mix it all up and you put
it in the fridge and just let it set for
as long as you want.

Speaker 5 (12:24):
You could eat it right as soon as you I
didn't even think about it.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
This is gonna sound dumb because it tastes like a
nutther butter peanut butter cookie. I didn't think about you
having to put extra peanut butter in it. I guess
you would have to.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Yeah, it could be the creaminess because the consistency. So
here's the big question for me. If you used ten
nutter butters to put inside, why not bring nutter butters
to dip it in. He brought gram cap crackers. We're
eating it on gram crackers. It's that's weird.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
I had extras obviously from the pack, so I and
that's all I had. So I tried it with another
butter and it it's good. Too much to me, it
was too much. But I mean, if you're a peanut
butter freak, yea eat the rest of the pack machine.
Or if you put this out as a dip, put
some nutter butters, Put some gram crackers, Put some pretzels.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Mellow wafers.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Oh feel shot very fruit. If you want to, you could, Okay,
So thank you for this. We're gonna add nutter butter
dip to our game day grub recipes at Murphysalmonjody dot com.
