Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show Podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I hope this doesn't upset anybody or gross anybody out.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Sam start the morning.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I need help with a personal decision, and I figure
who better to ask this than the people who stare
at me every day? Okay, and everybody too. I mean,
you see us on video, maybe you can chime in
and give me your two cents. But it's a dental
thing that I'm going to take care of. I'm having
some dental work done. Again, you've already had dental work done, yeah,

(00:33):
but this is like the final thing, last appointment, because
you know how these are the you know, three D
printed teeth.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Oh yeah, that's right. I always forget they look great.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Well, thank you. Uh. And I got to go get
my permanent finalty, the porcelain ones.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
And so before you can do that, you have to
pick a shade. And so I need to pick a
shade of tooth teeth that's going to be with me
for the rest of my life that doesn't look insanely white,
but exactly. And I have seen the scale before, see
like these, you had three choices super bright, dull or

(01:08):
in the middle within the middle and you know they
have that too for the permanent ones. But there's like
fifteen shades to choose from. Wow, okay, choices right being
not that color blindness is going to affect it, but
those kind of things I have difficult time because you
have to look at that sitting in someone's hand and go, Okay,
that's going to look good at my mouth?

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Can I ask a dumb question that's probably a little creepy? Also,
sure is for getting creepy. Do you still have any
of your original teeth?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Now?

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Just match it? Oh? You don't going to say? You
could side by side that and then you would know
what your original enamel color was. Better?

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Yet better? Yet? Smile at me. Do you like what's
in your mouth now?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I do?

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Guess what?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Oh that's right.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
My opinion is someone who looks at you every day, Sam,
thank you, I think those look fantastic. It's not insanely bright,
it doesn't look like you've never brushed your teeth right
in the middle. It's it's if you can go in
there and go hit me with something very similar to
what I've been rocking all year or whatever.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Right ever since I started with these and they told
me that was going to happen that I would have
to pick, you know, my permanent ones. I'm thinking this
is good enough, it's great, But then the mind started raising,
well maybe one shade better would make me look good overall.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I see you're saying.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I mean, I'm not going to go five shades better
and blind everybody with my white teeth.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
It's the fear of it being permanent. Permanent, Yes, yes,
I understand.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Other question is if you continue to like drink a
ton of soda, can you stay in the news.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Oh wait a second, that's a question.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
There's a question you're going to eat? Yeah, okay, aren't
you glad you asked?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Coming up at six fifty, Jody has three things to
know today all.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
The way next, got a couple of emails just for you,
Jody about your kitchen Pyrex explosion. How it might have
been a good thing.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Join us any time. Lots of waste to do that.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and even Murphysalmonjody dot com.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
That's a lot.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
What a coincidence. I have a Murphy Salmonjody dot com
email right here. Okay, it's from Rita and it's to you, Jody. Hi,
Rita in reference to your accident with Pyrex dish.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, that was fun.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
The Pyrex dish blew up in my face, almost because
I took it out of the hot oven and poured
water on top of a pork tender one, which is
obviously a mistake.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Well, Rita says, well, not very funny. I'm grateful you
did not get hurt.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
Me too, Thank you too.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
And she's got a story. Years ago, my youngest son
walked into our dining room with wet hands, and he
flicked them towards the fireplace. Oh, needless to say, when
the water from his hands hit the hot glass doors,
they exploded. Oh I just cracked. They exploded. Once I
made sure he was not hurt in any way, I
told him, well, maybe, I guess the thing to remember

(03:54):
is you don't put cold water on hot glass.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
I think you should talk to your science teacher about it.
Maybe you can get some extra credit for an experiment
that went terribly wrong, but it's a valuable lesson learned.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
God no kidding, Yeah, that's same. Thank you for sharing
the story.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Yeah, you love your show and try to listen every
day while working.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Well, Rina, I will tell you that maybe I knew
that maybe I didn't I trust Pirex to be one
of those things that can handle anything. Yeah, because that's
the that's the message we've been given. Maybe I forgot
the science class lesson. To be honest with you, I
also wasn't thinking how many times if you cook a lot,
which I cook often, you cook a lot, you're not

(04:33):
you're doing it without thinking about it.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yeah. Yeah, I know we were laughing at you or
like snick or snicker, But yeah, I can honestly say
that it probably wouldn't have occurred to me before I
did that, too. I would have thought about it. Really
knowing me, I probably wouldn't have done it because I
would have like, nah, I just don't it's better to
be safe. But yeah, it's not anything I go into knowing. Oh,
don't put that on pi Rex.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Well, thanks for saying that, because you were snickering the
most I know.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
We got another email from Sindy. She says a quick
note about the Pyrex incident. I can relate to the
embarrassment that Jody felt, but I think that mistakes like
this are meant to remind and teach those around you.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah, it exploded into a hot glass, exploding it and
it would have gotten into my eye and we would
have been in an emergency right now.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Well it's pyrex it's very thick glass.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Yeah, serious stuff. So thank you, We appreciate you.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Rita and Cindy coming up next to your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Trending now Jody's Hollywood Outsider brought to you by Private
Team mist Yes we all know by now.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
And if not, here's the reminder that CBS canceled the
long running police show Blue Bloods.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
It didn't just run its course, it was canceled.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Well get dead on.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
Yeah, you could have gone on.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
I sure has been like the police.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
The police Department never shuts down, Murph.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
That show went on.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
For It did go on forever, and it was a favorite,
and a lot of people actually in law enforcement will
tell you that's the most one of the most realistic
TV police shows of all time.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
The police chief looks like Tom Selleck.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
Yeah, we have to have some cool news. It's going
to get another life. Okay.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
The network CBS has given a straight two series order
of a spin off show, yeah called Boston Blue, and
it'll be Danny. It'll be Donnie Wahlberg's character joining the
Boston Police department and then you know, pairing up with
another partner, and so.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
It continues in a way he's in the family.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Maybe with some sort of occasional appearance from Tom Selleck.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Well, I just wow, you're making my heart race. I
didn't even think of that. So anyway, Blue Blood's is done.
But Boston Blue is coming from CBS with Donnie wall Berg,
you know, at the head of it.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Coming up next, Sam has Music News.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Got the latest pop artist making a country crossover.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Sam's Got Music News brought to you by Mobile.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Got another big pop star that may be going country
little country crossover, you know, like maybe Beyonce and then
post Malone gave us his version last year. Looks like
the next single that's going to be coming from Chapel
Roan is her song called The Giver. Now I don't

(07:21):
have the actual audio from it yet, but she did
perform it back on Saturday Night Live recently, So here you.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Go, man, Yeah, dude, that does sound fantastic.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Yeah it listen for that soon she'll be releasing it.
Backstreet Boys offspring, one of them is coming to American
Idol this season as a contestant. Okay, Brian Latrelle, his son,
Bailey Latrelle, is going to be a contestant on the show.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Did the judges know did he did he throw the
Backstreet sort of crowd around or.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
You know, I don't know this yet because it hasn't
hit on air. It's the new season starts on March
the ninth, and Bailey actually went online and says, check
me out. It's going to happen on March the ninth,
So I'm assuming he's going to be in the first auditions.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Carrie Underwood's sitting right there.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
Carry Underwood in place of Katy Perry this year. And
also some news about Paul Simon. He's going to go
back on tour. But you see this song right here,
not going to play an in concert. And I'll tell
you why. He left for touring about seven years ago
because he lost his hearing in his left ear, and

(08:34):
he says he would never be able to tour again
because in these auditoriums he can't hear what he's playing.
Oh but what he's decided to do is for this
upcoming tour that starts in New Orleans on April fourth,
he's only gonna play small arenas that are very acoustically
sound and quiet, and he's got this speaker arrangement that
blasts them basically right in his ear so he can

(08:56):
hear his songs. So he said, no loud fun songs,
you only like that stuff like this slip sla. It's
a chill n a mellow evening with Paul Simon coming
up next.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Jodi has three things to Know Today.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Three things to Know Today, brought to you by Stay Far.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
Number one, the White House floating the idea of making
direct payments straight to citizens with the money saved from
the Department of Government Efficiency does It's called doze dividend
is what they would call it. Twenty percent of the
government's savings that they're trying to slash. It would give
each taxpayer about five thousand dollars. That's the plan. A
lot of others weighing in saying, wait, it needs approval

(09:38):
from Congress. It could be used to reduce the national
debt instead, or for other programs. So there's always a
lot of opposition going on, but that's been flowed at
that idea.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Number two, does everybody really have the flu? Do you do?
We all know somebody who's sick right now?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Oh well, doctor say, it's the worst flu season in
the US in more than a decade. Thirty million infect
this season alone, and the season's not done. We didn't
see the last time we saw this many was in
twenty eleven when the swine flu was all over the place.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
It's a lot of flu. There's some COVID too. Why.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Yeah, we're a lot of socializing and not as many
of us getting our seasonal flu shots. And number three,
federal prosecutors have charged seven men, seven Chilean men, for
there are alleged roles in this string of robberies that
we all heard about, targeting the homes of professional athletes
like Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelson.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
The same guys were doing this.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
The same men were charged with doing this. You're up
to date. Three things to know today.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
I finished the Gabby Petito documentary on Netflix. It was
three episodes. It was really well done and it is
staying with me.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
Sam. Yeah, I finished it, and I know you're upset.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
I'm upset.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Uh huh, I want to talk about it.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I'm upset at Brian, of course, I mean, obviously he's
the one who did everything, but.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
It's just who's Brian the boyfriend her?

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Yes, boyfriend?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Yeah, here so many things rushing to my mind. I
don't want to spoil it for anyone.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
If you if you.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Kind of followed the story, there is a lot more
to know from the documentary, which makes it a really
good documentary. Everything was really well told, and it's in
three episodes.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
I'd like to report a domestic because you gentleman with
flapping the girl, say you did it a white van.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Here's the thing that's thrushing in my heart right now,
my mom's heart, and maybe you two, if you're watching
this and we do want to hear from you on it.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Gabby's mother. I feel like I know her. She's every
mom that I've ever known.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Everything that she said, you know, when she was texting
with Gabby and wasn't receiving anything back, It's like that's
what I would be doing. Yeah, you know, not trying
to over but hey, can you call me? I'm wondering
how you are. She was twenty two years old. Gabby
was twenty two years old when she went with her
fiance on this you know, van life trip, and so
it's just I just really felt her. That's one reason

(12:02):
it stayed with me. But the other thing, and they
do touch on it a lot in this documentary, Murphy
you would you would have actually enjoyed this one, even
though you don't enjoy true crime. They touch on the
fact that this was a domestic violence situation with a
young couple. Would I want to convey to especially young
people listening. When you're young and you're that much in love,

(12:25):
you think that's that's your only shot. You think that's
your only the only time you're ever going to feel
like that in your life. So you have to stick
it out or put up with stuff. I mean, we've
all been there, right When you're young and you have
your first taste of real love, you think this is it.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Then yeah, you.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Know, whatever whatever gets served up along with it, I'm
just gonna suck it up and deal with it.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
And that's not the case.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Well, and that and because love tends to be intoxicating
early on like that, you don't see warning signs of things. Yeah,
you don't see things that look a little.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Offt It's almost like you don't know at that age
yet to value you yourself enough to go this is
not for me, violence, criminal activity, whatever it may be,
whatever red flags. When you're younger, I feel like you're
more likely to just go. I can handle this, I
can change it.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
So, since I haven't seen the documentary, were there enough
red flags?

Speaker 4 (13:15):
Oh yes, oh yes?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
But there was also love, which you know, can help
you make a bad decision, can clutter your mind and heart.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
So anyway, it is streaming now on Netflix.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Coming up at seven fifty. Jodi has three things to
know today and next. Sam is the food dude.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
To know how Wendy's has taken their Frosty's to the
next level.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
If it's new and you can eat it, Sam's found it.
He's the food.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Dude, brought to you by Cole's.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Hey, just a reminder for you this Friday, the thin
meant Frosty lands at Wendy's. Okay, And Wendy's has other
frosty news for us. They are branching out here coming
up in April. And by the way, these are rumors
from foody websites that I follow, not from Wendy herself, no,
but these foodies are pretty consistent where everything they say
is going to happen usually does. Really in April, Frosty

(14:06):
Swirls will land Frosty swirls. Are you just get a
chocolate frosty or a vanilla frosty and you can add
stuff to it, caramel, strawberry brownie batter. Those are the
things they're looking at.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Oh, because this thin mint frosty, by the way, is
a swirl. It's going to be a vanilla frosty and
they add the little minty chin.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
It's a swirled in Yeah, got it. Okay, so it.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Looks like a swirl. The other thing that they're looking
at doing is coming up in May frosty fusions. I
like the name of that one too. That's going to
be like a mcflury or a Dairy Queen blizzard. You know,
it's gonna swirl in it, but it's also going to
have mixed handies or cookie crumbs or something else.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Okay, So they're getting to swirl in fusion machines.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
What it sounds like, Marky, this is so smart because
it's one of the best things they've got going for him.
It's got it's the biggest check checked box, so you
might as well expand.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
It, and with any luck, the frosty machine will always
be working.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
Okay, Yes, all right.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Coke has a new flavor for us, or actually a
new product line pre biotic fiber drinks that are coming
called simply Pop. Okay, they're going to release these coming
up very soon, like in the next month. Strawberry, pineapple,
mango fruit punch, lime and citrus punch twenty to thirty
percent real fruit juice, no added sugars, zinc and vitamin

(15:20):
C and six grams of pre biotic fiber to each one.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Well, well, so gut health. I was going to say
that means don't drink a whole six pack probably huh.
Or you may have some after.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Effect to stay home maybe, I don't know, in a
certain room of the house. Moving on, another Oreo flavor coming.
This is one we had back in twenty thirteen. I
don't know why I got rid of it, The Golden
Birthday Cake Oreo. It's got the golden cookies on the
outside and the cream inside. Is a birthday cake flavor
with little sprinkles on it.

Speaker 4 (15:49):
Cute. It looks as cute.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
As we head closer to Easter, we have a new
chocolate egg to tell you about. Duncan is getting into
the chocolate egg department. Yes, they have one on the
market right now. A brownie battered cream filled chocolate.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
A well, that sounds awful, all right? Coming up next
to your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
The Latest Buzz Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Brought to you by Private Team.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Missed Mega triple Threat, maybe even quadruprale threat as far
as talent goes. Cynthia Aarrivo is set to host the
Tony Awards. The Wonderful wizardor Boss Summon's you to the
Emerald City, come with me, just.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Her time, right now, right, just her time.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
She is also kind of eyeing, I guess the egot
status where you have an Emmy and you have a
Tony and you have a Grammy and you have an Oscar.
Because she's nominated for an Oscar. She has all of
those other awards.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
Oh she does, Yes, she does.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
She got an Emmy for the televised performance of The
Color Purple, a Grammy for that show's cast recording, and
a Tony for her performance in that one. So this
being nominated for an Oscar for her is a big
deal because she could do that anyway. She'll be hosting
the Tony Awards, which will air in June on CBS.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
You see this summer She's also playing Jesus.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
I did see that Irwood Bowl.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Has got Jesus Christ Superstar and she plays Jesus.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
It's just her time right now.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Expect to I mean she I can't wait to see
what she wears to the Academy Awards.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
Speaking of it, let's move on to the Academy Awards.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
We do have some other names announced for presenting, so
we're going to see Selena Gomez that night. Ben we
knew that Ben Stiller will present, Willem Dafoe, Anna di Armis,
Lily Rose Depp, Goldie Hawn, even Oprah Winfrey added to
the list. Wow, that's coming up not too far away,
March the second. It'll stream live on ABC and Hulu.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Coming up with Murphy Salmon Jody.

Speaker 2 (17:41):

the way.
