Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Ways to Sleep Better when you're away from home. If
you're doing a weekend here or there, visiting family for
the summer, or going on a bona fide vacation, you
will not be sleeping in your own bed for more
than a couple of I mean, you'll be away from
home for nights in a row and.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Usually don't sleep well away from home. Murphy, you know that.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
I mean unless we're on a beach somewhere and I
can hear the waves and I don't know all is
right with the world.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
There's just something about sleeping in a different bed that
I think throws you off.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
To me subconsciously. You know, you're not in your normal place.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
That's why we bring our rain sounds. I mean, if
you got your app on your phone, you can you
can take that anywhere.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
That's the first thing that experts recommend is recreate the
sounds of home.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
If it's a fan, you know, if it's a.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Dog barking next door, if it's white noise or whatever,
bringing along with the app, try to create that same
noise effect because it's subconscious.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
The other thing is scent. If you can possibly think,
and it's hard to do that.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Maybe bring your favorite blanket or pillowcase. Oh yeah, why not?

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Yeah, I use a Diva wash, so I bring something
that's got Diva wash on it. Of course you do, Sam,
Did I say that out loud?

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Some hotels have little sprays every now and then that
they are complimentary lavender sprays and things like that.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
But they're saying, recreate whatever it is that makes you
feel come at home, not home. That's a scent too,
which you don't even realize.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
That's hard.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Well, you put the coconut oil stuff on every night.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
I do.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
I use the same lotions every night, So either coconut
oil or the bum bump cream that I put on
that you like so much. So anyway, moving on to
other things. Try to stick This is harder too. During vacation.
Try to stick to the same schedule so that your
body I know.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
They're on vacation schedule.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
I want to do that.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Either stay up late, get up late.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Even though I can't get up late, as hard as
I try, my body won't do it.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Select a strategic location to help you sleep.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Better, meaning if you are in a hotel, try to
not be by the elevators, you know, things like that.
I've never thought of that, but some people, you know,
don't want to hear the dings and don't.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Want to hear I had a friend that whenever he traveled,
he never wanted to be near the elevator because it
would keep him up at night.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
My goodness, and the last one I never thought of.
This is true anytime you can't sleep, whether at home
or away, that if it's not working for you, you're
laying there more than twenty minutes and you're wide awake,
get up and do something else, because laying there just
makes you more anxious about the fact that you're not sleeping,
Like get up and do something relaxing, read but sit

(02:36):
up and do it, or go take a hot shower,
do something else so that you go back to bed
and lie down.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Isn't that interesting?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah? I always thought it was just trying to make
your peace with the Okay, don't fight it, just lay there.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
You can always let us know what works for you.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
And speaking of that, gonna jump into your email next
from Murphy Samonjody dot com.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
Direct message us on Facebook.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Love hearing from you. There also Murphy Sam and Jody
dot com you can email us. This came from Barb.
The first thing I want to say is that the
recent wedding of Sam's niece, she has a question. Yes,
before the wedding you mentioned that the couple would be
leaving the event on a helicopter to tour the city.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Did this happen?

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Yes, it did so, and they didn't They didn't change
clothes or anything. They just went and jumped on that.
Because we saw them come walking out, we were all
they had like an observation deckcess we could see the helicopter.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
She was in her wedding dress and got in the helicopter.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
She took off. She took off the train while during
the reception smart but it was still veil and everything
else white. And he had his tucks on and they
both walked out there with the pilot took off.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Man, that's a cool way to exit and have an
event for yourself.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yeah, such a great idea. Take that with you, Barb.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
I don't guess you're throwing rice near the helicopter though,
I get anywhere near the helicopter.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Had they ever been in a helicopter before? Do you know?

Speaker 4 (03:53):
I have no clue?

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Because wow, I hope it didn't you know. I've never
been in a helicopter.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Helicopters fun, it seems kind of helicopters are like roller
coasters that has a lot of that up and down snuff. Okay, pilot,
but it's.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Not on a rail, right, Okay, thank you for that.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Barb Lynn sent this as an Instagram comment about turtles
being on the move. Guys, you know turtles are on
the move right now because of mating, because of the
time of the year. And when turtles get on the move,
what happens They try to cross the road.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Oh yeah, right, and then if you turn them in
the wrong direction they get lost and die.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
So turtle mating season right now.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yes, okay, Lynn says regarding turtles being on the move,
I keep a pair of garden gloves in my car
for moving them. I did this after getting a scratch
from a snapping turtle as I moved it out of
the road. Luckily it was on a quiet neighborhood street,
but a couple of cars had to stop for me.
One driver gave me a good job as they drove off.

(04:51):
I got very fond of turtles when I had a
box turtle take up residence in my backyard for a
couple of years. I could hand feed its strawberries and
other goodies. If a turticle could run, She ran to
me when I came out, so cute. Oh wow, that's
an unusual situation, Lynn.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Yeah, I'd have to build up a little confidence to
feed a turtle like that, you know.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Anyway, Remember the word from wildlife and Fisheries is if
you have to move it, only move it a small
the smallest amount of you know, distance necessary, and only
in the same direction it was traveling.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Outsider trending Now Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Brought to you by good RX.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
Disney really knows what they're doing when they want to
bring families to the movies, as seen by the success
of the live actionally Low and Stitch and how well
it did this weekend against Mission.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Impossible at the box office, where they're going to.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Do it again in June. June twentieth, we have this
Disney Pixar movie called Elio. It's about an eleven year
old boy who it's a it's animated, it's beautiful animation,
like Disney Pixar does. He doesn't feel like he fits
in anywhere. He's obsessed with space, and all he wants
to do is be abducted by aliens, and what do

(06:06):
you know, he's abducted.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
You need to make friends.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
All I ever wanted was to find a place to
fit in.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
It's beautiful and sweet and it's an adventure. Okay, So
June twentieth, only in theaters, meaning don't look for it
on Disney Plus right away, they're not going to do that.
Only in theaters and three D options available.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
Leo. I feel like it's going.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
To be just a name that we're going to know
and see, and it's just something from them that I
didn't even realize it was coming.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
And it looks absolutely beautiful.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
They released the full trailer this week, so it's like
a two minute trailer worth your time. Know that if
you've got little kids or whole families that like to
go together to the movies, Disney's bringing that this well,
I say, this month.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
It's June twenty.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Coming up next. Sam is the food Dude at the
number one.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Food to ease your stress according to Science.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
As always up on the New Eats, He's the food Dude.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Brought to you by International Animal rescue.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Now we're gonna get to the food that science says
eases stressed the most. But first give you some new items.
Cheetos has a mac and cheese cheddar barbecue flavor now
in the store.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Wait, it's mac and cheese, but it's Cheetoh's flavored.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Yeah, you've never tried Cheetos mac and cheese, have not.
They have that Halipennio one. They have a couple flavors.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
How is it? I you had it?

Speaker 4 (07:22):
I haven't had this one. But I can actually eat
the Halapenno one. Okay for the green box, trust me,
it's good. It's surprisingly good. Starburst has a new candy
called Starburst Goodies. They're gummies, and what sets them apart
from regular Starbursts and Starbards gummies is it's plant based,
less sugar and fewer calories and made with real fruit cheese.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
That's good.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Yeah, so it's like a gummy that's good for you.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Chips a Hoy, we got another flavor coming, Cinnamon bun.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
It's a chips a Hoy on the outside and they
put the cinnamon bun flavor on the.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Inside, so it's a soft chips a Hoy coo.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Yeah, they've got got them now with like chocolate on
the inside. And they had another one we covered a
couple of weeks ago. They had something else on the inside.
But apparently there's stuff and stuff inside of chips ahoy. Now, okay,
I get that one.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Jor Day won't believe that there used to just be
one kind of chips.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Ahoy. Really happened and you like it. You loved it.
In fact, they came along with soft ones. You were like,
what's this?

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Yeah, when you said, mom, can you get oreos? You
just meant oreos. Jonahs Brothers is team to have teamed
up with a Friendly's ice cream, so they released a
Jonas Brother's flavor. It's got three different flavors in one
because there are three coffee, cookie, crumble, chocolate, marshmallow, and
vanilla is one of them.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Lower sugar because one of the Joe Bros diabetic, like
one diabetic maybe.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
And now I promise this that the food that science
says helps us when we're stressed out the most, it's pizza. Yeah,
So you research university in England study this and about
half the participants said just the smell of pizza calms
them down. About Another third said, tasting the pizza calms
them down. It activates serotonin and dopamine. Dopamine. Tomato sauce

(09:16):
has antioxidants and vitamin C.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
A man, pizza is there, and then the cheese and
the dough is fat.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
Yes, it's also good.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Thank you food dude.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
Coming up next, Showy has three Things to Know Today.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
Three Things to Know Today.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
Brought to you by State Farm.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Number one, there's been a report that data hackers stole
one hundred and eighty million Google and Apple passwords, so
you might want to change your password. Cybersecurity experts saying
they breached all these passwords. Social media logins were also hacked,
and the database they supposedly stole from was encrypted but
not password protected. So just in case, if you use

(09:56):
Google and you have a password, and you use Apple
and you have password words, which.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
You do change them today.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Number two, with more airlines adding baggage fees, I think
Southwest took you know this week right. They're saying a
lot of passengers are getting very creative stuffing rolling tight,
you know, clothes and stuffing them in the travel pillows
because you can bring a travel pillow for free as
long as it doesn't have like metal or buttons on it.

(10:24):
A lot of people are wearing their multiple clothes, like
wearing bathing suits under their clothing, because if you're wearing it,
it's not a bag.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
And number three.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Last week the world saw a very pregnant Cassie Venture
on the stand in the Sean Diddycumbs trafficking trial. Well,
at the end of it, her lawyer said, look, she's
focusing on her prepping for her delivery after the testimony
was done, and she has had her baby. She and
her husband have two daughters, Sonny and Frankie, and this
week they welcomed their first son.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
You're up to date three things to know today. Follow
us on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Love having you along.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
You can also email Murphy Samonjody dot com. Joy sent
this Hi, Hi Joy. I started a summer hobby years ago.
I make salsa, jams and jellies. I love to visit farmers'
markets and produce stands as well. They also serve as
early Christmas gifts in the work.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Yeah, no, kid, you get that out of the way.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
I love to visit a farmer's market just to do it,
and you know, everything is so fresh and you don't
know what you're gonna You don't go with the idea
that you're looking for tomato.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Do you wind up spending too much money? I do,
because I buy like they'll be selling somebody selling sausages
and somebody's selling Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
I guess there's only too much if you don't eat
it all right, if it goes to well, there.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
You go correct anyway, cool Joy. We love hearing about it.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
What you're doing in this summer, Your hobbies, We talk
about all that stuff all the time.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Okay, so Tally sent this.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
This is based on an after the show podcast one
where we Murphy let everybody in on what he actually
uses AI for, which is a lot. Tally said this,
Your show's been a part of my daily routine for
a very long time. Thank you for the after the
show podcast on using AI. I am a teacher, and
the first item on my list to do this summer

(12:19):
is to paint my guest bathroom. Haven't been able to
make a decision on paint colors. After listening to the
after the show podcast, I decided to give AI a try.
Oh my gosh, I uploaded a picture of my bathroom
and told chat GBT the specific colors I am considering.
It created a perfect preview of what each color combo.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Would look like.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Man, I didn't know it could do that. I thought
it was just words coming back at you.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Well, I can create, you know, images and proof.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
I haven't touched it. Yeah, okay.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Tally goes on to say, I did discover that I
could only make a few requests a day without paying
for the.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Wow, that's true too. I'm a subscriber.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
I can't wait to buy the paint with confidence knowing exactly.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
What it will look like.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
That's cool.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Who knew? I guess it's really true.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
That's I guess that's why I've not known what to
use it for, because you can literally use it for anything.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
Yeah, to learn. Yeah, but remember it's ideas, not answers.
You have to be super careful because it does not
always give you and it doesn't give you wrong answers
because it wants to give you wrong answers. It gives you,
you know, wrong answers sometimes because of the way you
ask the question, and it makes false assumptions about things too.
So yeah, you've got to be really careful.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
That's a slogan. Ideas not answers. Thank you, Tally and Joy.
You can also join the conversation eight seven seven three
one zero four MSJ.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Jody has three things to note today, coming up at
seven point fifty All the Way.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
Next, I have an update on the Solo Sam summer's vacation.
Have you got your summer of vacation plans set yet?

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Mostly we're working on them mostly.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Yeah, we're keeping it simple this year. It's a couple
of little weekend getaways. So that's all.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
We're gonna have a girls weekend. We might be getting
some new flooring at the house.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
So what do you do?

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah, that's fun.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
I said last week that you know, Solo Sam Summer
was kind of on hold for this.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Year because of things but life budget.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
When Murphy mentioned using points, it's like, oh yeah, credit
card points.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Oh fantastic.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Yeah, I went and looked and tested a few things
out and I can fly for free. But there you go, wow,
based on credit card points. So it's like, okay, well
that takes care of a chunk right there.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
Isn't that cool?

Speaker 2 (14:39):
So for anybody who missed it, you might be able
to take a little trip based on whatever points you've accumulated.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Murphy does that all the time.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Yeah, I didn't realize how many points I had, and
I checked and it was like, oh wow, I can
go fly somewhere. Okay, yeah, samuh And I've been watching
this date a while now because it's going to give
me a chance to make up for something that I
didn't get last year.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
Oh is it Willie.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
Nelson on the road again? Okay, now bringing up the speed.
Last year, I went up to Boston, New Haven, all
that area there and Willie was having his Outlaw Music
Festival tour with Dylan and Robert Plant. Alison Kraus got
my tickets, went out to the Amphitheater and Willie didn't
show up because he was sick last summer. So he

(15:23):
made it for July fourth, and I think that was
probably it. So he didn't make my date. We got
to hear Lucas Nelson in the Family Band and that
was still pretty good. So lo and behold. Willy decides
I'm going to do it again this year. He's going
out on tour again, and it's like, okay, my thinking
last year was Willy's ninety one, got to see it's
too late, and then I missed it. This year he's

(15:44):
ninety two and he's out on the road again, so
I'm going to do it again. I found a date
that works with our summer vacation. Okay, Willie Nelson, I
don't hear that he's sick, so it should work. I
also have to sit through Bob Dylan. Well I did
see last year?

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Is Bob open for Willy's the.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Last one, all right?

Speaker 4 (16:04):
But this one's got the Mavericks and the Avid Brothers,
and I have been dying to see the Avid Brothers.
So this is a good one. And it's an amphitheater.
It's gonna be outside. I've already bought my grass ticket.
I already bought my rental chair for eight bucks. Hey,
I'm just gonna sit out there and this year enjoy
Willie for real.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Good for you and on points that's cool. Yes, Coming
up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.
