Speaker 1 (00:02):
And thank you for subscribing to after the shows some
of the exclusive if you get here on the Murphy,
Sam and Jody podcast, just for being a subscriber.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
You were discussing earlier today the fact that our our
youngest Phoebe who's eleven, is going to probably be having
surgery before before Christmas on her foot. And it's a
it's an outpatient thing. It's pretty routine, should be very
very simple. But it's still your child having surgery, right,
It's still you know.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
And I've already talked to her about the IVY and
all that.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
She really ivy, oh, ivy Okay.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
I was thinking, ivy, English, ivy, what the ivy in
her arm?

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Got it?

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Now?

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Gotcha?

Speaker 1 (00:37):
She has a vernicular vernacular in the vicular whatever accessory thing.
It's a bone basically a bone that sticks on her foot.
But the thing is Jody for me, it's not the
surgery is not registering for me yet. In my head,
I'm thinking, maybe the boot will work, maybe she doesn't
have to. Is that just a nile kicking in kind
of surgery.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
And talking to the doctor about this.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
She's in the boot right now, okay, and she to
feel any relief of that pain. She'd have to be
in the boot for six weeks and take it off
into see but as soon as she takes it off,
that bone is still whack and messed up. She'd go
about right back to way to feeling the way she's feeling,
which is pain all the all the time and can't run,
can't jump that cheerleader.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Is that exactly what the doctor said, that the bone
is whack? No, I never heard a doctor speak that
way this and that bone is whack, Jody.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
But it's just like you can you can wait it
out and let her. But in six weeks or seven
weeks from now. He even said, you're going to be
in the same spot when she takes that boot off,
unless she wants to live in a boot, or you
could go ahead and schedule this if you choose, you
don't have to do this.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Obviously, he's like, he's.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
He's a super nice he's a super nice guy. I'm
just wondering, is he one of those that likes to
do the surgery for docing.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
No, there was no pressure, nothing like that in fact,
And that's why I wanted you to be able to
be there, Murphy, And you couldn't and so we're gonna
have to go back and talk talk to him.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
But no, my whole deal is, I'm not worried. I'm worried.
There she'd be in great hands, and then she'd be
in a cast and boot for five to six weeks.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
I do physical therapy too.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Probably not at her age, probably not. But the deal is,
this is her first year as a cheerleader, and her
first events at the school as a cheerleader are coming up,
and she's going to have that big boot.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Either way to me, would seem to still hurt it.
You know, I guess I have to come to terms
with it. Maybe it's not. Maybe it really is. Like
there's a friend of mine who's a surgeon whose motto is,
when in doubt, take it out, you know, Oh yeah,
who's got the ninety doctor now
