Speaker 1 (00:02):
Producer Emily has a girl's weekend this weekend. It's funny
because I have one next weekend. Oh yes, I do,
you know?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Yeah? And I have a girl's weekend the weekend after.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
You give a girl's weekend every weekend, Tam, you're going
out of town though, right I am on a plane
going with some friends.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
I am ours is just here, which is that's fine, yeah,
which is great, But it's you know, it's.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
These are the same girls you get together with every
now and then.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Every time there's four of us, I think maybe one
might also hop in and join us. But it's interesting
because we talk about, okay, maybe we should just do Saturday,
and you know, then everybody go on Saturday night or
Sunday morning, and but we really want to do a
full weekend yep. But the amount of guilt that comes
with that is ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Also the amount of planning. Oh my gosh, I know
you will spend three days, thank you, getting ready, getting
ready for your husband to handle the kids, for you
to have two days off. I have because Todd is
still taking bottles, so have all this milk frozen in
the freezer, so I have to package each one six
ounches in this bag and this bag. You remember what
you choose to you choose to micromanage it that way.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Well, understand, I wouldn't normally he's going he's taking the
kids and going out of town to his parents. Oh
and the girls are coming to our house and spend
the night. So I have to send him with the milk.
So I have to package it all up. Normally I
would say it's six ounces. You know where to pull from.
Mike knows how to do all that.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
You know the thing about, And I have been where
you are. I used to leave a binder full of
instructions like you couldn't mess it up. You couldn't mess up.
I don't have to leave a binder in defeed, when
I'm being you know, sarcastic. But you can worry about
all that. But as long as you trust him and
I obviously you do to meet their basic needs, it's

(01:40):
gonna be fine. The best thing you can do for
yourself is take a breath and just enjoy your weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
And see, I get that. It's just that each one
of us is texting like, how can we we feel
so guilty leaving the children for a weekend because you know,
all of my friends work, so everybody gets like two
hours a night with their kid before it's bedtime, you know.
And so it's like, now we're just gonna give up
a whole weekend with them. But then we all had
really hard nights at one point this week with our children,

(02:04):
and we were like, and not wait for this weekend?

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Is Mike taking the kids out on the boat.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Well, he might take Jake out on the boat, but
Todd's not even the bandy yet. We're not gonna go there. Yeah, okay,
I don't.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Think I want. I want you to know this. Our
kids are older. MINEA Murphy's girls are older, and I
still feel guilty. But I haven't done a girl's night
and not even a night, not even a dinner in
a year, like I've stopped doing that. Yeah, and I met,
and it's there's still the guilt, is what I'm saying.
I've got a teenager at home and eleven year old,
and I miss them when I have to be alone.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I know, is ridiculous, miss them and I'll and what
do you do all night? Talk about your children? Now
I all talk about our kids.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Oh didn't did this?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
And Todd did this?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
One of the girlfriends I'm going with doesn't have kids.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Well, there you go, so no, she.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Will look at me like I have a third eyeball
if I start talking about my kids, talking about those
kids again.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
What's the one thing you're looking forward to the whole weekend? Emily?
Just can you say?

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Oh my gosh, I can say, but it's very silly
going to the bathroom by myself because now Todd is mobile,
so not only is a jake, but it's Todd.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Yeah, Mommy, mommymy.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Exactly, Mommy, why this, Mommy?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Why that? Try not to feel guilty, even though I
know it's for real, I know it
