Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome. Put a little more cream in your coffee. This
is the after the show podcast. I'm always put a
little more cream in my coffee lately anyway. So Sam
has been introspective today about your single life, and I've
loved this conversation. I love this for Youah, that you
are I guess self aware. Being self aware is a

(00:22):
big deal.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
I'm sure he enjoys the fact he keep bringing it
back up too.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Ever, you did too, Murphy, Sam, remember we talked about
you being single.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
It's fascinating. What did you realize bring it?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
The longer I am staying single, more likely, I think
it'll be that I will be single forever.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
That's the synopsis.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
That's the ten second version, right because.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Oh, because I'm getting set in my ways.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
I like the way I do things.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Yeah, that's for sure, Gosh for sure.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
So it might be harder to accommodate someone else in
my life.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Do you know this whole you know thing we've talked
about today makes me think of this. I've had this
conversation with girlfriends before about the fact that when you're
the older you get whatever in life, more experience that
you have, women are more likely to stay single and

(01:17):
men are not. You guys have any experience with that,
because I certainly do. I can see it. I see
it in my life.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Well, you've seen it in family members who've gotten remarried
and things like that.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
I think that being in a couple situation is it's
more effective for a man. It's it's he enjoys it more.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
I don't know, because he's got somebody to cook and
clean and.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Say that it works for a man more so, and
then a woman doesn't. I don't know. I guess you
really can't categorize it because some people, men or women,
it doesn't matter, don't like to be alone.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
You see.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I've known some women, Yeah you have cue up the
country lyrics who I don't think can be alone, right,
It's like they have to have somebody.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah, yeah, I think probably what Jody's talking about, and
I think on the whole with especially for somebody when
Joey's talking about literally like elderly people who've been married
for forty years, they're not necessarily going to remarry after
they've lost a spouse. And I've known more women like
that too. But I think that if somebody still young enough,
if there's some unfortunate circumstance that's led to divorce or

(02:25):
an early death or something like that. Yeah, you know,
I don't know you and I don't have a frame
of reference on that.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
No, I've never been in that spot, and I hope, well, no.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
No, but we don't know. What I'm saying is we've
got friends though that have remarried. Absolutely, you know what
I mean.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
It was kind of like what your mom told us once.
Look one time, I don't remember this saying. We were
visiting with your mom, Miss Judy. Yeah, Miss Judy. I
love talking to her, and we brought up your dad
and how long it had been since he had passed.
And I just asked, so, you know, miss Judy, do
you get asked out on dates or do you? And

(02:59):
she told us, you remember this conversation point.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
You said, there's people that, yeah, older gentleman that hit
on her and ask her And her answer.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Was, and I said, so, what why did you not
go out with him? And he and she said, I
don't want to take care of that. She said that,
and that's her frame. She's already done that, she's already
had her person, And it sounds like to me she's
still very connected to him. It sounds like he's still
very much a part of her life.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Well he is. He's sitting in a box on her dresser.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Okay, okay, Well, man or woman, you know, figure out
which way you're happier. You know, hopefully you can be
happy either way.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
It just sounds like you're in a place right now,
which which is good. I guess you know what you
think it through. You're not interested in the give or
the take.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
That's right. I'm interested in to leave leave me alone.
