Speaker 1 (00:02):
All right, a little friendly reminder to watch the phone
calls or voicemails that you may be getting. Of course,
not every voicemail you get to Sam when Mom calls.
It's not a scam necessarily. Yeah, okay, Now this has
to do with and I've actually had a few of
these lately, and it's amazing to me how these pop
up after a storm, you know, between IRMA and Harvey.
(00:24):
I think this is one method of scamming. You know,
it's one thing to see it on email, but it's
another thing to get that number that you don't recognize.
Somebody leaves a voicemail, and then when you go back
and you listen to it, what they're saying can scare
you until you realize, Okay, clearly this is a scam.
And I've actually had two in the last two weeks.
It really surprised me. So here here are the ones
to watch out for. One I could see how, unfortunately
(00:47):
somebody might be able to fall for. I guess I'll
share that one with you.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
First.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
It was a call that I got, you know, from
somebody who identified himself by name and then said that
there were some federal and state safety regulations that were
in violation that I needed to follow up on.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
You made some violation.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Well, and I don't know if this is these are targeted.
It's you know, storm victims, So I don't know that
you could assume it it's legal. I mean, it's just
it was kind of weird and I didn't like that.
I was too afraid to listen to the voicemail. But
the other one, I mean to me, was obviously a scam.
Sadly though, you know that somebody's going to fall for
(01:24):
this one somewhere is They left the message saying, we're
contacting you about the lawsuit that's been recently filed in
your name and the warrant that goes along with us.
We need you to call us back. So when you
call back, the first thing that they're asking is your Well, no,
I didn't call back, but I read about this one.
The first thing that they're asking for is your social
Security number?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Yeah, no, don never give it, right And so you.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Know, and that always when when you start hearing legal
terms and you're used to get in the call, if
you're not careful, you might assume. But of course, if
a lawsuit was filed in your name, you would probably
know about it, right, You probably filed and and a
warrant is going to be much more official and serve
by law enforcement, not somebody calling you from an eight
hundred number that shows up is unregistered on your phone.
(02:06):
But anyway, I just thought that those two were important,
especially the ones that talk about you know, regulations and this,
that and the other, and kind of targeting.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Using the big words huh yes, to be alert.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Unfortunately, there are always those praying upon victims. I just
can't stand it.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
Look, we have a special visitor later this hour, former
producer Drew, who has been through something incredibly scary recently
and he wants to tell everybody about it. Okay, so
that's later this hour coming up next though, Sam, you
got music news.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah, it looks like American Idol, the new American Idol
might actually lose Katy Perry as a judge if they
don't get their act together.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Sam's got music news.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
See, American Idol is running into trouble and they might
lose Katy Perry as a judge.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Now you're talking about the refooted version of American Idol, Right.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Get their stuff together?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Back and forth and back and forth about who the
other judges are because they've had Katie for a while. Well,
the bus tour auditions are done, the taped auditions are
going to start in just a few weeks, and that's
where they need all the judges, right, So if they
don't have the other judges in place by then, they're
going to have to push things back, which will push
to show. They made arrangements because Katie's got the Witness
(03:22):
World tour going that's going to be going on, so
they made arrangements to work it around her tour. If
they wind up pushing things back further, they're going to
lose her because she's got to go out on tour.
Speaker 5 (03:32):
I'm sorry. For twenty five million dollars, they're not going
to lose her. I'm sorry, but there's a contract sign
she can't do yes.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Because there's a two part to the judges, right, I
mean you've got the auditions and then the judges. Of
course you have to be present for the actual performances.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Right, some of them. Luke Brian is the one they're
trying to get. Apparently they're running into trouble because they
can't come up with, like you said, the other day,
JOEI enough money. So they're trying to give him Disney perks.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
They don't mean passes. They don't mean you know, fast
pass to breakfast.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Now, let me get this straight. I'm gonna get forty
Mickey bars a week.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
What they mean for in this sort of deal is
in you know, merchandising deals where you can buy Luke
Bryan's stuff in Disney on Disney properties.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
And so I get to take a picture with Chip
and Dale.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Awesome in mine.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah, So hopefully they'll start getting on that real Soon
found out that Sam Smith almost got out of the
music business altogether before coming out with this new song.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Of his only Too Good a good Bye. I know
he's had some heartbreak and health problems.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Well I think this was because of the heartbreak. While
he was in the middle of putting together his new album.
He said he got dumped and it wasn't nice and
it sent him into And usually he's one of those
kind of guys like Adele, that takes their personal experience
and turns it into song, but he said this one
a lot of artists do that. This one hurts so
bad that he said he just he couldn't write a
(04:56):
song for two months, and he said his people had
a basically push him into the studio and say get
in there, start writing and start recording songs because he
said he was done.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
How you get better to truly facing it?
Speaker 2 (05:10):
I guess luckily we'll have a new album from him
coming out soon.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Merphy sim and Jody Music News.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
All right, guys, since it is football season coming up, next,
we're gonna visit with our friend Holly Clegg and she's
got a football dip recipe. Okay, but it's actually healthy,
but it won't taste healthy like that.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
That's next.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
The lovely and talented Holly Clegg is with us today again.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Welcome Holly, Welcome home.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
Yes, yes, okay, We're gonna do one of our dip
recipes with you right now because it's a really fun
summer dip. Maybe we'll bring it back at Christmas when
we do twelve dips exactly. Okay, so say the name
of this one again. Wuak a mommy guacammmy. I didn't
mispronounced guacamole. It's the best of both worlds. Okay, avocado
and at a mommy and one creamy nutritious dip and
(05:59):
a lot of people don't realize this. You know, at
a mommy is soybeans and it's basically one of the
only ways you get your mega three fatty acids. You
have to get it to your diet.
Speaker 6 (06:07):
So if you're not a salmon or sardine or whatever person,
at a mommy's a great source.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Yeah I'm not a sartine person.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
Me neither million that this has such great flavors and
you just throw everything in the food processor, your avocata
at a mommy, a little lime, juice, garlic, salsed yogurt
and that's it. And you know, did you see what
I brought you to serve it with? Cut up some
peppers or fresh vegetables.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, it doesn't.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Have to be chips, Murphy, what do you think of it?
Speaker 1 (06:33):
I love it. It should be called guacamama because Mama likes it.
Speaker 6 (06:37):
It's a diabetic friendly recipe if you need to take
a dip, it makes up real easily and diabetics.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Yeah, and it's very flavorable.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Friend.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
You can use this as a sandwich bread too, right.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Yeah, good for wraps, you know what.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
You can put it in and roll it up and
then cut it like pinwheels.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Pinwheel.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
I'm sorry to do it, poor Holly. We're all cooks
and so we're always like this I need.
Speaker 6 (07:03):
This is actually from my Arthritis cookbook, and my arth
writers cookbook just focuses on inflammation, but it's really just
my healthiest, easiest cookbook how we all need to.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Eat, right, got it?
Speaker 5 (07:14):
Look, you don't have to feel guilty about dipping. And
when Murphy dips with like chips or whatever, you need
to watch out because he doesn't just get a little, it.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Gets a lot. Oh he dips like I do. That's
those truck. Actually.
Speaker 6 (07:28):
Yeah, vegetables are more sturdy than chips, so you can
really get a good dip.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
But you don't have to feel bad about dip.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
And you can get more of my recipes on my
blog Hollykelegg dot com or the Healthy Cooking Blog and
sign up. I have weekly emails with recipe blasts that
you're just gonna love. Here to simplify cooking, keep it
healthy for are you, but most importantly enjoy good food.
Speaker 5 (07:52):
Yeah, check it out guacamamae at Murphy Salmon Jody dot com.
Say it again, guacamammae Mama loves it.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Coming up next with Murphy, Sam and Josie.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Hey, we're going to visit with former producer Drew, who
went through something incredibly scary recently and wants to tell
everybody about it.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
That's next.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
Special surprise for you guys this morning, because somebody that
we love a lot has been through a lot lately.
Former producer Drew joins us this morning.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Hey, Dolan, Hey guys.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Great. In case you don't remember, producer Drew was with
us in the very beginning for a long time and
and now he's an established attorney, you know, with a
roster of celebrity being a law many attorney.
Speaker 7 (08:40):
Okay, that's right.
Speaker 8 (08:43):
Say I've moved downwards 'all.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
I would love that.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
No, Look, I want to get straight to why we're
visiting with you because I heard some news the other
day that it made my heart drop.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
You are how old now?
Speaker 8 (09:01):
Thirty nine years old?
Speaker 3 (09:02):
And what happened the other day?
Speaker 8 (09:04):
Had a heart attack?
Speaker 2 (09:06):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (09:07):
When we heard that, I was I mean, I was
just mortified.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
So tell us about the day, all right.
Speaker 8 (09:13):
So I woke up at four thirty on Saturday morning,
which is not my normal, and it feels like I
got a fist and not in my shed, middle of
my chest, and I sit up and I sit still,
and it's okay, it's manageable, but kind of freaked out
a little bit, a little concerned. Yeah, not going away?
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Is that what you thought immediately?
Speaker 9 (09:30):
That's heart A little concerned about it.
Speaker 8 (09:32):
Yeah, because I woke up and that woke me. That's
what woke me up. If I sat still and sat up,
it would get better. If I laid down, it hurt.
If I got up and walked around for any length
of time, it hurt. I just sat there. I watched
some TV. I'm trying to, you know, do something, you know, Okay, Yeah,
I'm thirty nine. It's got to be an ingestion. It's
got a million different things other than what it could be. Okay,
(09:54):
And I finally Leddy wakes up. We talked about it.
I'm concerned enough where I've decided to talk to her
about it.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
That's probably once you let her in on it, your.
Speaker 8 (10:03):
Wife, because I know what the reaction is going to be.
Go get somebody look at it. There I go, and
they do a couple of EKGs and everything looks fine.
Speaker 10 (10:11):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (10:11):
One the place away was that originally tells me, Well,
are ek EKG machines not working very.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Well, We're not getting a great reading.
Speaker 8 (10:21):
Everything looks fine, but just have of an abundant precaution.
We're gonna why don't you go to the er instead? Okay,
get in the car and drive the e R. In fact,
I'm so unconcerned about this, lebby went to the movies
with the kids.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
But you did end up it was a heart attack.
Speaker 8 (10:38):
So the next time I see a doctor, he's like,
you're getting admitted to the hospital, budding m you're having
You're having a heart attack. All right, there goes my Saturday.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
I cannot even believe you. I stick around with us
a little bit more. We want to talk about this
a little bit more. Stop lasting say I was going
to watch the game today too. We'llitting with former producer
Drew and we love and we don't get to chat
with very often. But we heard some news the other
day that really well shook me up. And I know
(11:09):
Sam's face went pale when you heard this, Sam, that
you had drew.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
A heart attack. I did, at thirty nine years old.
Speaker 8 (11:17):
Part of my Saturday.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
You woke up, you had this like it felt like
a fist sitting on your chest. You go to the hospital,
even without the wife and kids. You're like, I'm just
going to take care of this and see what's up.
And they admitted you because you were having a heart attack.
Speaker 8 (11:32):
Yes, living's there at the hospital with me. At this point,
we're sitting there like, hey, you know what, I'm adopted.
I don't really have a lot of medical history on this.
I just text my birth mother and ask her if
we got any family history at this time. I do
good idea, but like a decade again, yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
It's okay, it's okay.
Speaker 8 (11:50):
Wet text message and says, oh, yeah, every male in
the family's had heart problems. In fact, every male's had
a heart attack before the age of forty.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Well, now you're a member of the family.
Speaker 8 (12:01):
I'm a winter in the genetic lottery. True, And so
at that point, now my doctor is a little more concerned,
and we're going in for the heart cast. The heart
cast are on Sunday where they take something a tube
and they run it up a vein and they go
to my heart and take a look and see what's
going on.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
And you were blocked, right, I.
Speaker 8 (12:19):
Had one hundred percent blockage in my left artery. So
at that point I'm told. I'm told before I go
into the heart cast, well, if everything's fine, you'll be
out in fifteen minutes. If everything's not fine, maybe a
little longer. Three hours later, I woke up and I
got a scent foot in that left artery to keep
(12:39):
it open, and I've got a bunch of new fun
medications I get to take. But I'm told forever.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
When your diet is different, isn't it, they probably.
Speaker 8 (12:47):
Need to be different. Anyway, I'm getting to discover all
those vegetables I've been putting, pushing off the plate for
a hour.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
I remember that vegetables.
Speaker 8 (12:56):
I'm now learning about what sodium means and how much
I should have. Oh, oh, dear god, how much you
get when you go to places, and you know how
much if you don't pay attention, how much sodin you
can take in in a given day is unbelievable. And
I'm not a big salt guy. Well, but I'm still here,
and that's the beauty of it. I get a chance
to make some changes and do some things and see
(13:17):
if I can work on that in the future. Yeah,
you know, hopefully learn some lessons.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
So glad you're okay, and We appreciate you sharing the
message because you know what everybody and by the time
we get into thirty should be asking those kind of
questions about history and the family.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
That's right.
Speaker 8 (13:30):
If you don't have a medical history, go get it.
If you don't know what sodium and cholesterol are and
what levels look like, go find out right. And if
you have any issues whatsoever, don't be a hero, go
get checked. It could save your life.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Listen to you.
Speaker 8 (13:43):
Yeah, there I go.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Yeah, I love you. Take care, Okay, y'all do.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
Jodie's Hollywood Outside.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Big night for television last night at the sixty ninth
Annual Live Emmy Awards. We'll get to some of the
big winners, but first, at the weekend box office, we
were hoping that this Jennifer Lawrence horror thriller thing was
gonna do well.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Called Mother Please come in, Hello, Hello.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
He's a stranger.
Speaker 8 (14:14):
We're just gonna let him sleep in our house.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Bomb It bombed.
Speaker 5 (14:19):
It fell to like number three or four in the
rankings because it's not a horror, it's a psychological thing
and there's a whole other underlying message and people were like,
what was that?
Speaker 2 (14:28):
I don't feel like thinking about it.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
Meanwhile, it the Stephen King adaptation was number one again,
making sixty million this weekend. Everybody can't get enough of
that clown and that drain wanted to go back for
that reimagining. All right, look, we'll take you to last night'
Timmy Awards for the big winners. Anyway, the Handmaid's Tail
won big Best Drama Series starring Elizabeth Moss. Elizabeth Moss
(14:53):
won for her role. Have you ever watched this? I
watched Tail dystopion.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
It didn't grab me.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Oh well, maybe because you're not a lady.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
I don't know, but I have a lot of friends
who love it, and I think I'm gonna have to Anyway,
they took them four Emmys for that one, and then
a lot of wins, like five wins for HBO's Big
Little Lies, which was an incredibly good ride of a
show for me. Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kibben were two
of the actresses lead actresses in it, and they accepted
(15:21):
the award.
Speaker 11 (15:22):
To the people that embraced this the power of television.
It has astounded us that we entered into your living
rooms and people talked about it. And as much as
the show had the entertainment value, it was also about issues.
We are so grateful that you told your friends to
watch the show.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
You can still watch it, which is so cute.
Speaker 12 (15:45):
And it's been an incredible year for women on television.
Speaker 10 (15:48):
Can I just say, bring women to the front of
their own stories and makes them the hero of.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
Their own stories.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:55):
Alexander Scarsgard also won for his supporting role there. And
it was kind of like, there's so much question mark
where there'd be a second season.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
There doesn't really hope, I don't.
Speaker 5 (16:04):
They keep talking back and forth about it, but there's
not another book this This one series was limited. Series
was based on one book, which is also really really good.
Coming up in your next Hollywood Outsider This Morning at
seven fifty five, a little bit more behind the scenes
of Selena Gomez and what she recently went through with
that transplant.
Speaker 13 (16:24):
Up to date with Shooty's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 5 (16:29):
Curiosity got the best of me Friday afternoon. I had
a hot twenty minutes left before I had to go
to carpool, and I had to do it.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
I swung in and parked to that estate sale.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Remember, oh, the one that was too fancy for you?
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Well, well, You've got an email basically saying, hey, this
is I don't know how you got on this list anyway,
notifying you that there was in a state I.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
Obviously gave my email address at one point. Okay, so
well boy. They sent this out a week ago saying
this is coming, this is all this, there's all this
vintage art in all this awesome pottery, and come to
the wine and cheese preview party the night before it
actually kicks off.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
And I'm thinking, oh my gosh.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
And then when I saw the listing, remember of everything
that was here, like vintage, this and that, I thought
this is too upscale for me.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
I was so intimidated. I thought this is not for me.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
But curiosity got the best of me when I realized
where it was, Like I knew they gave the address.
I'm like, I can handle that. I can totally handle that.
So I went anyway just to see it. That was
marketing at its best. That was it was no different
than any other estates I've ever been to, except that
I didn't see a thing I wanted. Oh yeah, I'm sorry, Sam.
(17:36):
The vintage, the vintage, the stack of vintage Playboys. The
top one was Anna Nicole Smith on the cover. I
wouldn't call that vintage.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
That's not too vintage.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
But I guess it's twenty years ago.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Hey, vintage of some people's ten, twenty thirty. I guess whatever?
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Right, crazy because you add wine and cheese, and you
add a preview party that I'm suckered into thinking I
can't be there.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
You sure it wasn't picked over before you got there.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
Even if it was picked over, I'm here to tell
you it was no different than any other estate sale
I've ever been to.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Gotcha isn't so funny?
Speaker 1 (18:10):
This was really just sort of like a garage sealed
two point zero that they had wine and cheese.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Look, yeah, and it was probably cheap wine.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
They do it.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
Well that everything was like labeled price correctly. There was
a lot of cool stuff there, like you guys might
have thought it was fun to all these albums and
all this vintage stuff in the art all that, Yeah,
but it was really no, it was no different except
that they're planning and marketing of it because they had
a lot of stuff like a I mean volumes. They
had so much stuff that it was smart for them
(18:40):
to catalog it like that and send it out. So no,
more intimidation. I'll be going to the next one no
matter where.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Yeah, coming up with Murphy's Sam Well.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
I found a new added benefit to me stopping drinking
the same one that I didn't even think of. Cool
that's coming.
Speaker 5 (18:56):
Up also eight seven seven three one zero four six seven.
We love to hear from you. Join us anytime, Sonya,
You're next.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
You know, I can almost see this turning into sort
of a little revolution that Jody's starting here not wanting
to look and I don't blame you. After you know,
routines and work and arranging kids and all that kind
of stuff, dinner is like you get to that point
you're kind of like, no, I've.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
Been doing it for years.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
I plan dinner all day long, and I'm been cooking
these dinners that nobody's eating but you and me, Murphy.
Because the girls are so hungry when they first hit
the door after school that they eat a meal by
four pm, the snacks, and so it's like whenever we
have dinner later, it's kind of like, I'm not that hungry.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
So your question was should you even make dinner at
all of anymore?
Speaker 5 (19:43):
It's just change it up to where I have dinner
ready for them or something. Anyway, look join us anytime
eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
David. We have somebody on.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Yes we do.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Sonya wants to chime in and give you her suggestion
on the topic. Good morning, Sonya, Good morning clothing radio people.
Speaker 10 (20:00):
AI.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
We're good. How are you, lovely, Sonya?
Speaker 4 (20:04):
I am good, sweet?
Speaker 3 (20:06):
What can we do for you?
Speaker 7 (20:07):
I have a thought. When I was a kid, we were,
for lack of a better word, lat's key kid. Mama worked,
Daddy work, and when we came home from school. Sorry, Jody,
this is a little extra work for you. My mother
always had a variety of fruit set up for us,
pre done in bag. Yeah, for us to eat while
(20:27):
we did our homework. Smart, because you can never concentrate
on your homework if you're hungry.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
It's true.
Speaker 7 (20:32):
She knew that dinner was always the time that we
sat down we talked about our day, so she would
always pre make us some kind of little bag with
grapes and you know, whatever fruits we wanted or we liked,
and they were always pre made for us.
Speaker 5 (20:47):
I don't think it'll be hard for me because I'm
already I'm already prepared, preparing dinner every night as if
it's Thanksgiving, and it's like I'm stopping that madness, and
so doing a few little snacks and ziploc bags is
an I'm not going to be a thing, you know
at all. My kids hit the pantry so hard when
they get home that I realize, you know, Murphy and
(21:08):
I can eat whatever we want later, even lighter easier
on me. You know, they'll grab yogurt. It's about what
you have in the house.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
I do that. I do that for Jackson. I make
sure he has a pre wrapped ice cream sandwich or
some some pre wrapped chips. Ahoy, nice, thank.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
You Sonya.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
Yeah, I mean we might have cheese and crackers tonight.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
But what I don't want to give up is the
sitting around the dinner table, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
That's something that'll be the rule.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
Come to the table even if you're empty handed, and
visit with us. Look, jump in anytime. We love hearing
from you. Eight seven seven three one zero four six
seven five.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
Coming up with Murphy's sandwich ody.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Hey, guys, I found another added benefit to not drinking. Okay, Sam,
and it's gotten looking real good.
Speaker 13 (21:55):
Hey.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
You know, ever since I let that bottle of alcohol
go from my cold dad hand ends. If I've found another, I'll.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Say dead hands. Sam.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Okay, Sarah, you know what. I quit drinking, which is
got to be And you're now almost two weeks in
on this. It's great.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
I found a Actually today is two weeks.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Are you supposed to do congratulations? Are you supposed to
one day at a time?
Speaker 14 (22:16):
It?
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Well, yeah, but you can still congratulate you celebrate.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
The length of your sobriety.
Speaker 10 (22:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Okay, that's where you get your one year chip from
and all that got it.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
So those taco flavored chips from layers if.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
You want them to be, if you want them to be.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Sam, Okay. Anyway, I found another added benefit to not drinking.
Weight loss.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
Oh, yes, you've lost weight.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Yeah. I've noticed since I've stopped drinking that I'm able
to pull the belt a little tighter and a little
more tighter and a little more tighter.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Now, is that fluid retention or is that real weight loss?
Speaker 5 (22:49):
I'm sure it's real weight loss because of calories. Well,
you weren't drinking local alcohol, right.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Actually I was drinking skinny girl. No, I think it's both.
I think it's right probably a little weight loss, but
I would think of it's more fluid.
Speaker 5 (23:04):
How's the sleeping, because I know you at first last
week you had said you were having trouble sleeping.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Still having issues sleeping.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
You need to talk to your doctor.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
I know.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
I don't want to get on anything that's you know,
like ambient. That's what do you call that?
Speaker 5 (23:18):
I don't know what do you call it? Prescription hallucination,
the addictive? Addictive?
Speaker 15 (23:23):
Yeah, okay, I've also forgotten a lot of words.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
Okay, No, I just.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Yeah, I've had trouble sleeping because when I lay down
at night, I start thinking. The thing is, it's like
I don't want to keep thinking, and it's not thinking
about alcohol or a drink before.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Just your mind gets busy work tomorrow or kids.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
This you should try the meditation app that I use,
where you just focus on the breath and stay in
the moment. I'm just it is a you know, you
have to work at.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
It problem that you have, sam right with meditating. We've
talked about this over the years. Who time, no, no, no
meditating when you're supposed to be like picturing a babbling
brook or whatever you're thinking about tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
I have this.
Speaker 7 (24:08):
No. No.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
When I start, when I try meditating, I start thinking,
concentrating on the fact that I'm supposed to be meditating. Well,
I'm supposed to be putting things out of my head
right now. Well, then quit thinking about putting them out
and put him out. Okay, that's right. I do have
to do that.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
The guided that well, that's part of it though, because
you can't force thoughts out of your head. That's the
discipline of meditation is you catch yourself in the thought
and you gently escorted away.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
You need to go have some hot tea and let
him explain this to you.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
I just wanted to tell you I was losing weight.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
I'm happy for you. Sam.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Coming up next with Murphy, Sam and Jody.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Well, the funniest thing that probably straightest things have ever
been told pre flight, you know, before the plane takes office. Next,
So here's a new one for you. I had to
fly to Houston over the weekend in law.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Enforcement or reasons business.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Oh okay, Murph, yeah, yeah, Well, I.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Mean, you know, some business and some families, you know,
I mean, Jody's got family, you know, in Houston. Two
and so as I was, you know, borning the plane,
they go through the regular pre flight checklist thing, all
the safety things, you know. And one of the things
that they said was, hey, we know the plane is
a little bit warm, you know today, but once we
get moving, you know, it'll it'll cool off. And oh,
by the way, this plane also doesn't have Wi Fi. Okay. Oh,
(25:24):
and and then the next thing was, but hey, no
big deal. We're kind of excited because we're retiring this
plane in two weeks.
Speaker 5 (25:31):
Oh no, you did not tell me this. Do you
know what would have happened about it have been with you,
If Jody had been with me, you would have been
I would.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
Have gotten off the plane.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
Why would you say that?
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Whatever?
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Well, here's here's what happened. It is for good reason,
and everybody in the plane was cool with it. I
googled you. I'm sure enough. You know. In March, Southwest
Airline said that they're retiring some of their seven thirty
seven three hundred series planes. Okay, this is it's it's
a work course plane. Seven thirty seven is a great plane.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Yeah, except that there's no Wi Fi and there's no
a c Well most.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Of them have been you know, we're deployed in the
mid eighties right, so you know, it's just time for
the next you know, batch of new.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
New planes still had the ass and.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
You know, I mean it's flight attendants in Southwest are
hilarious anyway because they're just that's what they do right there,
and they're funny.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Didn't have funny shaky noises like when you were in flight.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
No, it wasn't bad. I just thought of Jody that
the entire time. Though, as soon as the flight attendant said,
you know, we're retiring it in three weeks.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
My eyeballs would have clocked out and I'd be like,
I'm sorry, I'll see you next trip.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
But I was kind of surprised. I was like, wow,
this is the real dude, because I found an article
about it when they had announced they were retiring them all.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Seven So they're not just messing with you.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Doesn't mean they're not safe though they're perfectly said, we're
just kind of older.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
What's really going to be funny is when they get
to the last flight and they announced that to the
people on the plane, we are retiring. There's jet after
today's flight, you.
Speaker 4 (26:59):
Know, way coming up next with Murphy, Sam and Jody.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
Okay, Michelle is on the phone eight seven seven three
one zero four MSJ.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
She's got ideas for us.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
Also, since the kids are starving at three point thirty
and four in the afternoon, how do we still make
dinner happen?
Speaker 3 (27:15):
That's next. We love hearing from you.
Speaker 5 (27:20):
You can jump in anytime the numbers eight seven seven
three one zero for MSJ to call or text.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
You know, Jody, you're getting a whole lot of interest
on this potential. No more dinner at night than nemework.
Not no dinner right exactly nothing.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
Yeah, that's a bit extreme.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Mom's units.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
So I love hearing from you. Eight seven seven three
one oh four MSJA. How are you, Michelle?
Speaker 14 (27:44):
I'm doing good. I just wanted to tell Jody. If
your girls are wanting to have a super big snack
like that right after school, what you really needs to
do is you need to change your dinner time to earlier,
like maybe even four or four thirty, because then there's
getting a full meal at that time when they're critically hungry.
And if you show them that when they're hungry they
(28:05):
have a full meal instead of just grazing, then that's
going to be healthier in.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
The long run.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Totally agree. That's just a.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
It'll sometimes be without Murphy, you know, because yeah, it's
just one of those things where I.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Kind of want us to all eat.
Speaker 14 (28:18):
Together, but like with after school things and practices and everything,
it's not. Maybe you can just say, Okay, we're going
to eat this nice dinner's on the weekends.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
Yeah, and I'm feeling that.
Speaker 14 (28:30):
Stuff and stuff like that, and then maybe just have
a dinner at like four thirty.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Michelle, did you say critically hungry?
Speaker 5 (28:40):
Now you're speaking Sam's language, Maybe it sounds dangerous.
Speaker 14 (28:47):
One of my daughters has lunch, brunt, he has lunch.
It's ten thirty, right, Yeah, And it's like, you know,
by the time they get home at almost four, it's
like they're ready for a meal. They don't just want
a snack. And it's like the change the dinner.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
Schedule, act accordingly. I'll tell you what.
Speaker 5 (29:02):
This this whole thing happening and me realizing this has
it's At first I was aggravated and I was upset.
It's like, come on, dinner, you know, I'm doing all putting,
all this effort in the dinner and for nothing for
what right, And now I realized that I can likely
it'll make my life easier.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Absolutely, thanks Michelle, Uh, you know that's really early.
Speaker 5 (29:24):
Yeah, now, I'm sorry, I can figure this out.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Yeah, but you know totally. Michelle does bring up a
good point because there are so many years where Jackson's lunch.
Sure it is always like a ten thirty year before eleven.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
So no wonder they're so hungry after smore.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
I guess they have to schedule it that way because
they have multiple lunches at school.
Speaker 5 (29:42):
But man, yeah, right, as early as we start, I
can figure a way, maybe slow cook a lot and
stuff is ready when they get home.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
That's a meal thing.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Can you sleep better when you don't eat too late?
You know?
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (29:54):
So true.
Speaker 5 (29:55):
We're figuring it all out here this morning, So thank you, Michelle.
Reach out anytime and jump into the conversation. Eight seven
seven three one zero four ms.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
J coming out your Hollywood.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
You've got Nicole Kidman's super proud moment from last night's
Emmy Awards trending.
Speaker 13 (30:14):
Now Judy's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
We'll take you to the Emmy's from last night with
some big wins, including Nicole Kidman's what Something that she's
very proud of for winning.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
First though, Seleni Gomez that's just.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
Want a good, huge announcement last week to the world
and her one hundred and twenty million Instagram followers that hey,
I found out I needed a kidney transplant due to
my loopus and oh, by the way, I've already had it.
And she shared all the photos and she shared links
to the Loopus you know foundation, so that you know,
more light to be shed on that, and she sent
(30:48):
out a picture of her and her dear best friend
that you know had given her the kidney and all
this stuff, and it was a shock that she had
gone through that. But she did disappear from the limelighte
for quite a while. Yeah, we deal with this stress
and lupas that she was dealing with one sounds like, well,
I'm sure stress from that too. The word now is
that the weekend was right by her side the whole time.
(31:11):
Her boyfriend, her boyfriend the weekend, remember when he canceled
at the last minute for the VMA's. He was supposed
to perform for the VMAs. He canceled at the last
minute because he needed to be there with her, And
it was sort of a okay, it's time now. You
know you've planned this, but you need to come do
it now, and so that was in May. He also
canceled other shows to be by her side and hold
(31:31):
her hand and kind of be there, kind of like
that story because he you know, he's not the one
saying that. Other people in the hospital and sources reporting that.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (31:40):
Last night at the sixty ninth Annual Emmy Awards, here
are the big winners, like The Handmaid's Tale won for
Best Drama Series, Elizabeth Moss won for Lead Actress in
a Drama Series. Reese Witherspoon and the whole team at
HBO won four Big Little Lies, but the Best Actress
in a Limited Series went to Nicole Kidman, same show,
(32:03):
and she was so cute about what she had to
say and how proud she was of it.
Speaker 11 (32:08):
I want my little girls to have this on their
shelf and to look at it and go every time
my mama didn't put me to.
Speaker 12 (32:14):
Bed, it's because of this, my God something. But also
I want them to know that sometimes when you're acting,
you get a chance to bring a bigger message, and.
Speaker 11 (32:31):
This is their contribution and your contribution. We shone a
light on domestic abuse.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
So much though with that show, and she went on
to discuss how you know, there's a lot of shame involved,
and of course it happens more than we are allow
ourselves to see.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
It was really beautiful.
Speaker 5 (32:46):
Coming up in your next Hollywood Outsider at eight thirty,
Alec Baldwin won for his work on SNL and he
decided to shine a light on something else also, which
is not something you'd expect.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
Got that for you.
Speaker 13 (32:59):
Up to date with Judy's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
Happy Monday, another week off to a big start. And then,
as Jodi had mentioned in the Hollywood Outside or Dancing
with the Stars is back tonight season twenty five, are
we actually going to go back in and watch? Do
you want?
Speaker 9 (33:13):
Well?
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Maxim is there? So do you have any other questions?
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Cheryl Burke is back. We just haven't watched them. Look,
it's I mean it's I'm not saying it's not a
quality show. We just haven't watched it.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
And I need to stand up for it.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
When has it ever been a quality has been?
Speaker 10 (33:26):
I mean?
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Look, I was an avid follower. They even brought Lynn back. Yeah,
you use the word has been.
Speaker 5 (33:31):
Eight seven seven three one zero four six seven five.
Anytime you want to join us, we have somebody on hold, David. Yeah,
I have Mary on the line, and she watches Dances
with the Star Dancing with the Stars and wants to
make a slight correction.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
Hey, Mary, how are you Hey?
Speaker 10 (33:46):
I just wanted to call in and let's you know,
I've been listening the past couple of days about the
upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, which I'm all for. Yeah, yeah,
I'm excited about it. But I wanted to let you
know that there's something that you were saying wrong, not
to be negative, praise. Well, you've been saying that this season,
and the first celebrity couple to dance together is Nick
(34:09):
and Vanessla Shay. But about a year ago, there was
another celebrity couple that danced in the same season also
was it was it was Carlos Penevega and his wife Alexa.
They were on a couple of seasons ago, and it
was really sad because she got eliminated before he did,
and it's really sad. They were like upset for each other.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
So it was really sweet.
Speaker 10 (34:33):
But I just wanted to let you know that thank you.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
Before the season, thank you.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
You know, I had read about that.
Speaker 5 (34:40):
I had read something about them being the first, but
that's obviously not true. Yeah, I can't keep up honestly
because I don't watch every season.
Speaker 4 (34:49):
I would.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
I mean, it's fascinating. It makes you want to move?
Does it make you want to move?
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Mary?
Speaker 10 (34:56):
Oh my gosh. Yeah, it's like I want to go
to a local dance class something. I just want to
get up in samba.
Speaker 5 (35:02):
Also, yeah, you know, and we're meant to move. It's
good for you. So I hope you know, find a
way to do it.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Thanks for the call, Mary, And it's this is clearly
an example of what happens when we miss a season
or two. Hey, you know, and Jody did Dancing with
the Stars type fundraiser years ago, and you did. Was
it salsa that you did?
Speaker 3 (35:21):
That so great?
Speaker 2 (35:22):
Was it delicious?
Speaker 10 (35:24):
Huh?
Speaker 1 (35:25):
All right, Mary, thank you for the call. We appreciate
hearing from you. Reach out to us anytime eight seven
seven three one oh four msj.
Speaker 4 (35:32):
Coming up next with Murphy Salmon, Joe.
Speaker 5 (35:34):
We're going to visit with former producer Drew because something
you who happened in his life recently and very scary.
Uh So he'll tell us all about that. Coming up next,
special surprise for you guys this morning, What that Joe,
Because somebody that we love a lot has been through
a lot lately. Former producer Drew joins us this morning.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
Hey Dolan, Hey guys, how are we going great?
Speaker 1 (36:01):
In case you don't remember, producer Drew was with us
in the very beginning for a long time, and now
he's an established attorney, you know, with a roster of celebrity.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Being a law man, a Hollywood attorney.
Speaker 8 (36:13):
Okay, that's all right. Some would say I've moved downwards
since leaving, y'all.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Oh, I would know that.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
That's producer Emily.
Speaker 16 (36:24):
No.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
Look, I want to get straight to why we're visiting
with you because I heard some news the other day
that it made my heart drop.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
You are how old now?
Speaker 8 (36:34):
Thirty nine years old?
Speaker 3 (36:35):
And what happened the other day?
Speaker 8 (36:37):
I had a heart attack?
Speaker 1 (36:39):
You know what? When we heard that, I was I mean,
I was just mortified.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
So tell us about the day, all right.
Speaker 8 (36:46):
So I woke up at four thirty on Saturday morning,
which is not my normal, and it feels like I
got a fist and not in my shed, middle of
my chest, and I sit up and I sit still,
and it's okay, it's manageable, but kind of freaked out
a little bit, a little concerned. Yeah, not going away?
Speaker 3 (37:02):
Is that what you thought immediately? That's hart a little.
Speaker 8 (37:04):
Concerned about it. Yeah, because I woke up and that
woke me. That's what woke me up. If I sat
still and set up, it would get better. If I
laid down, it hurt. If I got up and walked
around for any length of time, it hurt. I just
sat there. I watched some TV. I'm trying to, you know,
do something, you know, Okay, Yeah, I'm thirty nine. It's
got to be in ingestion. It's got a million different
(37:25):
things other than what it could be. Okay, And finally
Letdy wakes up. We talked about it. I'm concerned enough
where I've decided to talk to her about it.
Speaker 9 (37:33):
That's probably once you let her in on it, your wife,
because I know what the reaction is going to be.
Speaker 8 (37:38):
Go get somebody look at it. There I go, and
they do a couple of EKGs and everything looks fine.
One the place I was that originally tells me, well,
our EKG machine's not working very well.
Speaker 9 (37:51):
We're not getting a great reading.
Speaker 8 (37:54):
Everything looks fine, but just have of an abundant precaution.
We're gonna why don't you go to the er instead? Okay,
get in the car and drive the er. In fact,
I'm so unconcerned about this. Letty went to the movies
with the kids.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
Oh are you sure?
Speaker 3 (38:08):
But you did end up it was a heart attack.
Speaker 8 (38:11):
So the next time I see a doctor, he's like,
you're getting admitted to the hospital, budding, m you're having
a heart attack. All right, God, there goes my Saturday.
Speaker 5 (38:21):
I cannot even believe you. All right, stick around with
us a little bit more. We want to talk about
this a little bit more. Stop laughing, Sam, I'm gonna.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Watch the game today too.
Speaker 5 (38:32):
We're visiting with former producer Drew and we love and
we don't get to chat with very often. But we
heard some news the other day that really well shook
me up. And I know Sam's face went pale when
you heard this, Sam, that you had drew.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
A heart attack. I did at thirty nine years old.
Speaker 8 (38:50):
Part of my Saturday.
Speaker 5 (38:51):
You woke up, you had this like it felt like
a fist sitting on your chest. You go to the hospital,
even without the wife and kids. You're like, I'm just
gonna take care of this and see what's up. And
they admitted you because you were having a heart attack.
Speaker 8 (39:05):
Yes, Livings there at the hospital with me. At this point,
we're sitting there like, hey, you know what, I'm adopted.
I don't really have a lot of medical history on
this way, don't. She text my birth mother and ask
her if we got any family history of this. Kind
of good idea, but like a decade ago.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
Yeah, it's okay, it's okay.
Speaker 8 (39:23):
We get back a text message and says, oh, yeah,
every male in the family's had heart problems. In fact,
every male's had a heart attack before the age of forty.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
Eh. Well, now you're a member of the family.
Speaker 8 (39:34):
I'm a winner in the genetic lottery.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
True.
Speaker 8 (39:37):
And so at that point, now my doctor is a
little more concerned, and we're going in for the heart cast,
the heart cast on Sunday where they take something a
tube and they run it up a vein and they
go to my heart and take a look and see
what's going on.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
And you were blocked, right, I had one.
Speaker 9 (39:52):
Hundred percent blockage in my left artery toms. So at
that point I'm told, I'm told before I go into
the heart cast, well, if everything's fine, You'll be out
in fifteen minutes. If everything's not fine, maybe a little longer.
Three hours later, I woke up, true, and I got
a scent foot in that left artery to keep it open.
(40:13):
And I've got a bunch of new fun medications I
get to take. But I'm told forever.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
When your diet is different, isn't it the.
Speaker 8 (40:19):
Probably need to be different? Anyway, I'm getting to discover
all those vegetables I've been pushing off the plate for us.
Speaker 3 (40:25):
I remember that he hated vegetables.
Speaker 8 (40:29):
I'm now learning about what sodium means and how much
I should have and oh, oh dear god, how much
you get when you go to places, and you know
how much if you don't pay attention, how much sodium
you can take in in a given day is unbelievable.
And I'm not a big salt guy. But I'm still here,
and that's the beauty of it. I get a chance
to make some changes and do some things and see
(40:50):
if I can work on that in the future, you know,
hopefully learn some lessons.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
So glad you're okay, and we appreciate you sharing the
message because you know what everybody and by the time
we get in a third. You should be asking those
kind of questions about history and the family.
Speaker 4 (41:02):
That's right.
Speaker 8 (41:03):
If you don't have a medical history, go get it.
If you don't know what sodium and cholesterol are and
what levels look like, go find out right. And if
you have any issues whatsoever, don't be a hero, go
get checked. You kids, save your life.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Listen to you.
Speaker 5 (41:16):
Yeah, there I go, Yeah, I love you, take care, Okay,
Judy's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (41:26):
The sixty ninth Emmy Awards happened last night.
Speaker 5 (41:28):
Handmaid's Tale was a big, big winner also as far
as drama goes big little lies. But on the comedy side,
SNL won a few things, including some writing and I
think Lorden Michael's won something, but also Alec Baldwin for
his well Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for
his impression of President Trump and when he received his award,
(41:49):
he stood up for something that was a little more unexpected.
Speaker 16 (41:52):
You want to get this in, which is late. I
always remember what someone tell me. That is, when you die,
you don't remember a bill that Congress passed, or a
decision the Supreme cour weren't made, or an address made
by the president. You remember a song, you remember a
line from a movie, you remember a play, you remember
a book, a painting, a poem.
Speaker 3 (42:08):
What we do is important.
Speaker 16 (42:09):
And for all of you out there and motion pictures
and television, don't stop doing.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
What you're doing.
Speaker 16 (42:13):
The audience is counting on you.
Speaker 3 (42:14):
Thank you standing up for the arts.
Speaker 5 (42:16):
When he received his Emmy Award Alec Baldwin from Last.
Speaker 13 (42:19):
Night, Murphy, Sam and Jody, you're a Hollywood insider.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
Hey, you know, ever since I let that bottle of
alcohol go for my cold, dead hands, what if I've
found another ull.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
Say dead hands? Sam?
Speaker 2 (42:33):
Okay, Sarah, you know what I quit drinking, which is wet.
Speaker 1 (42:37):
And you're now almost two weeks in on this. It's great.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
I found a Actually today is two weeks.
Speaker 5 (42:43):
Are you supposed to do congratulations? Are you supposed to
one day at a time?
Speaker 1 (42:46):
It well, yeah, but you can still congratulate.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
You celebrate the length of your sobriety.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
Yeah. Okay, that's where you get your one year chip
from and all that got it.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
So those taco flavored chips from Lays if you want
them to do if you want them to Okay, Anyway,
I found another added benefit to not drinking weight loss.
Speaker 3 (43:07):
Oh, yes, you've lost weight.
Speaker 2 (43:08):
Yeah, I've noticed since I've stopped drinking that I'm able
to pull the belt a little tighter and a little
more tighter, and a little more tighter.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
So is that fluid or is that real weight loss?
Speaker 5 (43:19):
I'm sure it's real weight loss because of calories. Well,
you weren't drinking local alcohol, right.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
Actually I was drinking skinny girl. No, I think it's both.
I think it's probably a little weight loss, but I
would think of it's more fluid.
Speaker 5 (43:34):
How's the sleeping because I know you at first last
week you had said you were having trouble sleeping.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
Still having issues sleeping.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
You need to talk to your doctor though, I know
I don't want.
Speaker 2 (43:44):
To get on anything that's you know, like ambient. That's
what do you call that?
Speaker 3 (43:48):
I don't know what do you call it?
Speaker 5 (43:49):
Prescription hallucination, addictive? Addictive?
Speaker 15 (43:53):
Yeah, okay, I've also.
Speaker 2 (43:59):
Forgotten a lot of works.
Speaker 3 (44:00):
Okay, No, I just.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
Yeah, I've had trouble sleeping because when I lay down
at night, I start thinking. And the thing is, it's
like I don't want to keep thinking. And it's not
thinking about alcohol or a drink before.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
It just your mind gets busy, either work tomorrow or kids.
Speaker 1 (44:17):
This, well, you should try the meditation app that I use,
where you just focus on the breath and stay in
the moment. I'm just it is a you know, you
have to work at it.
Speaker 5 (44:25):
The problem that you have, Sam, right, with meditating. We've
talked about this over the years. No, no, no meditating when
you're supposed to be like picturing a babbling brook or
whatever you're thinking about tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
I have this no.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
When I start, when I try meditating, I start thinking,
concentrating on the fact that I'm supposed to be meditating. Well,
I'm supposed to be putting things out of my head
right now. Well, then quit thinking about putting them out
and put him out. Okay, that's right. I do have
to do that.
Speaker 1 (44:50):
The guided app, Well, that's part of it, though, you
because you can't force thoughts out of your head. That's
the discipline of meditation is you catch yourself in the
thought and you gently escorted away.
Speaker 3 (45:01):
You need to go have some hot tea and let
him explain this to you.
Speaker 2 (45:04):
I just wanted to tell you I was losing weight.
Speaker 5 (45:06):
I'm happy for you, Sam p.

Well, he proposed to her in front of Cinderell's Castle,
which a lot of people do.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
Yeah, not unique, they didn't.
Speaker 1 (46:11):
It's not they did not meet at Disney World, but
they found that they had that in common, and all
of a sudden boom. You know he went a lot.
Their first trip together was the Disney World.
Speaker 5 (46:19):
Right, they go a lot to Disney too. Yeah, it's
not unheard of. Sam, I know you're making sort of
a face.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
But it's the things that you have in common with
each other that create the bond.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
I would just hope, though, that you'd have more in
common than just the Disney fanaticism.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
Of course you do, but that's an open door. It's
an opening.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
