All right, So here is a Murphy Samy Jody rebroadcast
in case you missed this earlier this week, something we
wanted to share with you again on the podcast that
happened to our former producer Drew. It was a healthcare
but you know, and it wasn't just about the healthcare,
but I think the message that he wanted to share
with everybody else. And so here it is again.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Special surprise for you guys this morning because somebody that
we love a lot has been through a lot lately.
Former producer Drew joins us this morning.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Hey Dolan, Hey guys, how are you going great?
Speaker 1 (00:32):
In case you don't remember, producer Drew was with us
in the very beginning for a long time, and now
he's an established attorney, you know, with a roster of celebrity.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Being a law man, Hollywood attorney.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Okay, that's all right, say I've moved downwards since y'all.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
I would know that.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
No.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Look, I want to get straight to why we're visiting
with you because I heard some news the other day.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
It made my heart drop. You are how old.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Now thirty nine years old?
Speaker 4 (01:06):
And what happened the other day?
Speaker 1 (01:08):
I had a heart attack, you know, what when we
heard that, I was I mean, I was justified.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
So tell us about the day.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
All right. So I woke up at four thirty on
Saturday morning, which is not my normal, and it feels
like I got a fist and not in my chest,
middle of my chest. And I sit up and I
sit still, and it's okay, it's manageable, but kind of
freaked out a little bit, a little concerned it's not
going away.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
Is that what you thought immediately? That's heart A little.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Concerned about it. Yeah, because I woke up and that
woke me. That's what woke me up. If I sat
still and sat up, it would get better. If I
laid down, it hurt. If I got up and walked
around for any length of time, it hurt. I just
sat there. I watched some TV. I'm trying to, you know,
do something, you know, Okay, Yeah, I'm thirty nine. It's
got to be an ingestion. It's got a million different
(01:56):
things other than what it could be. Okay, and finally
let me except we talk about it. I'm concerned enough
where I've decided to talk to her about it.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
That's pass once you let her in on it, your wife,
because I know what the reaction is going to be.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Go get somebody look at it. There I go, and
they do a couple of EKGs and everything looks fine.
H one the place always that originally tells me, well,
are ek ekg machine is not working very well. We're
not getting a great reading. Everything looks fine, but just
have an abundant precaution. We're gonna Why don't you go
to the er instead. Okay, get in the car and
(02:32):
drive the r In fact, I'm so unconcerned about this.
Let me went to the movies with the kids.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
But you did end up it was a heart attack.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
So the next time I see a doctor, he's like,
you're getting admitted to the hospital, buddy, you're having You're
having a heart attack. All right, there goes my Saturday.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
I cannot even believe you. I stick around with us
a little bit more. We want to talk about this
a little bit more.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Stop laughing.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Sad to watch the games there too.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
We're visiting with former producer Drew and we love and
we don't get to chat with very often. But we
heard some news the other day that really well shook
me up. And I know Sam's face went pale. When
you heard this Sam, that you had drew.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
A heart attack.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
I did.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
At thirty nine years old.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Part of my Saturday.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
You woke up, you had this like it felt like
a fist sitting on your chest. You go to the hospital,
even without the wife and kids. You're like, I'm just
going to take care of this and see what's up.
And they admitted you because you were having a heart attack.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yes, lived these there at the hospital with me. At
this point, we're sitting there like, hey, you know what,
I'm adopted. I don't really have a lot of medical
history on this. Why don't you text my birth mother
and ask her if we got any family history of this?
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Tidy I do.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Good idea, but like a decade again.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Yeah it's okay, it's okay.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
We text message and says, oh, yeah, every male in
the family's had heart problems. In fact, every male's had
a heart attack before the age of fortye.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Well, now you're a member of the family.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
I'm a winner in the genetic lottery.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
True.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
And so at that point, now my doctor is a
little more concerned, and we're going in for the heart cast,
the heart cafetter on Sunday where they take something a
tube and they run it up a vein and they
go to my heart and take a look and see
what's going on.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
And you were blocked, right, I had one.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Hundred percent blockage in my left artery.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
So at that.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Point, I'm told, I'm told, before I go into the
heart cast, well, if everything's fine, you'll be out in
fifteen minutes. Who if everything's not fine, maybe a little longer.
Three hours later, I woke up and I got a
stent put in that left artery to keep it open,
and I've got a bunch of new fun medications I
get to take.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
But I'm told, forever, when your diet is different, isn't
it the probably.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Need to be different? Anyway, I'm getting to discover all
those vegetables I've been pushing off the plate for I.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Remember that he hated vegetables.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
I'm now learning about what sodium means and how much
I should have, And oh, oh dear God, how much
you get when you go to places, and you know
how much if you don't pay attention, how much sodium
you can take in in a given day is unbelievable.
And I'm not a big salt guy, but I'm still here.
And that's the beauty of it. I get a chance
to make some changes and do some things and see
(05:21):
if I can work on that in the future, you know,
hopefully learn some lessons.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
So glad you're okay, and we appreciate you sharing the
message because you know what everybody and by the time
we get into thirty should be asking those kind of
questions about history and the family's right.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
If you don't have a medical history, go get it.
If you don't know what sodium and cholesterol are and
what levels look like, go find out. And if you
have any issues whatsoever, don't be a hero. Go get checked.
It could say, of your life.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
Listen to you.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, there I go.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
Yeah, take care.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Okay, y'all do
