Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, So this is the after the show podcast. This
is the Black Friday podcast. We are on a little vacate.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
This isn't on the road podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Yeah, with.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Taylor and Phoebe Saalo guys.

Speaker 4 (00:11):
Hi, guys.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Okay, So how did you enjoy Thanksgiving yesterday? What was
your favorite dish?

Speaker 5 (00:17):
Thanksgiving so good for so like, we get so much
good food, not just the Thanksgiving meal but everything else
that comes with it to our little vacation. But like,
I love the broccoli cheese rice as simple as it is,
it's so good.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Let's just be honest.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
You just ate some for breakfast? Leftover?

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Did we just ate? Why would you not eat the leftovers?

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Liker?

Speaker 6 (00:43):
Was that one of the dishes that we put on
our family Favorites on the website?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Sam's recipe? But it's the same recipe. I mean, it's
the broccoli rice casserole recipe. I checked it out. It's
the same as my grandmother's.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
It's got real cheese, whiz and velveta.

Speaker 7 (00:57):
Yeah. I love the carrots fla. I love because it's
really good.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
I love how.

Speaker 7 (01:04):
Sweet it is because I love sweet things, and like,
I love how sweet it is. And I also like
how it's kind of crunchy at the top, cryspy, not crunchy,
but like crispy.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
It's nice.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
It's fun and make too. It's kind of sninky though,
because I mean, you're mashing up a bunch of carrots.
But it's fun to make because she needs to take
the thing. What is it called?

Speaker 5 (01:24):
It was not it's electronic and you're like, yeah, a
little hand mixer.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, she's the hand mixture.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
And I looked at it and I was like, oh, this
isn't a lot of carrots.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
And then you add like a bunch of butter and
a bunch of flour and sugar.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Something interesting that we discovered this Thanksgiving that my at
we're saying at Crystal in Phillip's house and Crystal's my cousin,
and she's quite a cook. She runs very tight ship,
you know with her kitchen. But she had an instant
pot when we got here, and I've heard of them,
but we've never seen one. She did a lot of

(01:58):
stuff with that instant pot. She did mashed potatoes in it.
She cooked all these potatoes, a mixture of Yukon gold
and red potatoes, and she boiled them in well, she
cooked them in there pressure cooked them, and then on
the stove she did this little mixture and I don't
know the exact amounts, but I will get it from
her and we'll put it on our website. She did
the exact amount I don't know the exact amounts, but
butter and like glic, garlic powder and sour cream mixture

(02:25):
on the stove. And once the potatoes were ready in
the instant pot and then the steam was all let out,
she poured that mixture into it and then just mashed
it in there. They were delicious. She made we made
deviled eggs, which you always do. Also, she cooked like
thirty something eggs in the instant pot, one cup of water,

(02:45):
thirty eggs. It was good, it was They were perfect
and they came apart, like the shells came off perfectly.

Speaker 7 (02:52):
I don't like eggs, but that's really cool.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah something. Oh, she cooked the chicken for the chicken
and dressing, the the cornbread dressing that we eat. She
cooked it the night before in the instant pot and
it had been frozen solid before.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
And she.

Speaker 6 (03:09):
Jodie's an instant pot fan. I guess I'm an instant
pot fan now too, you know, who told us about
the instant pot first was producer Dress after.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
He had his heart attack and we were talking to
him about, you know, what his diet is like and
all that now that they cook with that all the
time comes.

Speaker 7 (03:23):
Out the top though, right, Yeah, Like what happened was
we walked in and everybody was playing outside and we
came inside and then christ and Crystal was like, okay,
everybody look out, and then she turned to this knob
and then all this steam started shooting out and then
all of a sudden, water came shoot it out and
it looked like it was raining or it was like
a sprinkler, but it wasn't that much water.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
It was like a bunch of little.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
A little towel over it, but it could be dangerous
and mean, you gotta be careful around that. Anyway, it
was just kind of warm.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
It was cool.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
It was That was like our big introduction to that,
to the instant pot. I keep on it because it
really was instant pot, I know, but it's kind of
like it it's old school pressure cook technology meets today,
you know.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Pretty awesome.

Speaker 6 (04:04):
When I checked it out out online on Amazon, it
has like thirty thirty nine thousand reviews.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, and you can google and look up I mean,
she's looked up a bunch of Pinterest recipes for instant
pot and that's what they've been cooking, chicken and a
lot of soup and like all these stews, and it
cooks really fast, or you can use it as a
slow cooker tape. So anyway, I just kind of discovered
that this Thanksgiving. I thought that was cool. So are
you excited about today?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Girls?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Yes, yes, we are going.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
To We're going Yeah, Renaissance Festival. We're going back in time.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Yeah. And Phoebe's you're dressing up?

Speaker 7 (04:35):
I am, and I have this dressed. It looks like
a bunch of different patches. It's really cute.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
I like it.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Yeah, well I have a flower crown and I'm just
gonna get my face panted.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
So that's not what I get. That's enough for me.
I've never been huge on like I don't like get some.

Speaker 7 (04:50):
Glitter, but like I don't want to clash too much
with my OLPHI because my alph it's kind of brownish.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
But it's we were introduced to infest only last year.
So maybe maybe if I decide I want want to
do something that's like that wear something from Renaissance times.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Maybe like next year I'll try and actually.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
Figure something out, but this year just lazy, and I
was like, you know what, flower crown, It's.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Fine, our new tradition.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
So this is only your second year doing run Fast,
so I'm excited not dressing up, but I will get
my face painted because I love that.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
I think I'm Turkey leg this year, dude, really.

Speaker 7 (05:22):
Totally didn't they have like a really good coffee or something.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Just like back in the days of York.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Yeah, randomly there was this really really good cappuccino.

Speaker 7 (05:34):
There's also this really fun porch swing thing. It's not
really a port, yeah, but it's a huge swing. It's
called the Kings What is called the Kings Swing something
like that probably, and like you go on it and
it swings all in the trees and it's really high up.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
It's so fun.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Last year there was actually an elephant that I wrote
an elephant.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Last year.

Speaker 7 (05:52):
I was terrified.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
It was really big, really hairy, short, and.

Speaker 7 (05:57):
It was short, slow, scary and stinky.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
So it was fun.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Here, we won't do that this year if you don't
want to. It was fun though, Okay, we'll see I
mean this.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Year, if we watched the johle Sting, maybe I'll stay
for the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, Jody missed it last year.

Speaker 6 (06:12):
It only lasted like fifteen minutes and she was you
had to go to the bathroom. So by the time
she would have found a bathroom, Me and the girls
were like, oh, yeah, it was cool.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
I'm sorry you missed it.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Yeah. So anyway, that's our new tradition. We need to
be go.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
We need to go get ready for Renfest because we're
heading there today.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
So to recap family, to recap Thanksgiving, instant pot and
Renaissance Festival.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
No, most importantly our family, our cousins who host us here,
and we're so comfortable and we stay like three nights.
It's awesome and we will hate to leave and go
home tomorrow, but we'll worry about that tomorrow, all right.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
So happy happy Thanksgiving everyone, Happy Thanksgiving.
