Speaker 1 (00:02):
And it is just a big old happy Tuesday. You
know so many kids. This is the week where you know,
it's not like around the time, even in our family,
right you know, one kid's out one day, one kid's
out the next. But make no mistake about it. You
know it's Christmas on the brain.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Boom.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Well, I have a lot to get done, and I
know a lot of people do at this time.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
I have a lot to get done. We have relatives coming.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
We have six people coming on Friday to stay with
us through Monday through Christos.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Oh, you're putting six people up.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Three upstairs down on top of us.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
There's enough room at the end this year to you know, there's.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Always room for another one. So anyway, we're doing all
of that, and we want to remind you this is
also the week, the week for make it Take It.
When I went shopping when we mean our make it
take it gift ideas, those are the best. Anyway, when
I shopped the other day, I got extra flower, extra sugar,
and extra pumpkin. I'm gonna try to whip out some
pumpkin bread later this I.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Just think that with all that's going on and prepping
for guests, because pump bread as one of those things. Sam,
it makes a mess in the kitchen. It looks like
a bag of flower explodes every time you.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Well, here's the here's here's what we could do this
year and do a little differently, Murph. I can make
it and you guys can clean up.
Speaker 5 (01:12):
Oh, how convenience want it? Well?
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Yeah, I do it from star. Wait when I give it.
It's a gift from our whole family, So our whole
family should be in on it.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
That's a fair trade. I agree you've got the knack
of talent for making it. We get to enjoy the
benefits of it, so wy not be the ones to
clean up.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
You ever found a way to get the pumpkin braad
maiden in your instant pot?
Speaker 1 (01:32):
No, I don't think you can bake it an instant poe, Sam.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
It's a tradition making it can make yogurt and cheesecakes.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Actually you you haven't read the instruction. Actually, now I'm
thinking about it. There's a warning that says flour. You
can't do flour and certain other things. It will clog up.
This cost too much pressure and oh something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Anyway, we have make it, take a gift ideas including
pumpkin bread, snack mix, red velvet cookies. Easy to make
so well, some of it's easy, some of us a
little more involved. But all the make it Take a
Gift idea as are online for you. Take that with you,
you know, and go shopping and get home and make
it and take it.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Twelve Dips of Christmas is there as well.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
And the Biggie Biggie Biggie is that today after seven
Santa Claus is going to be here.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Again after actually after six thirty. It's earlier.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Oh, we're starting earlier with Santa this morning. All right,
super excited.
Speaker 6 (02:18):
Coming up next with Murphy's Salmon Joey.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
I do have a question for Santa when he gets here,
because I I think I saw him doing something he
probably shouldn't have been doing when I picked up Parker
the other day at school.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Oh, he's gonna love that's Sam.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Check out our make It Take a.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Gift ideas Twelve Dips of Christmas Gifted Day ideas coming
up later. Today's gift today is something for the kitchen,
something you can give to anybody who has a kitchen.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Hey, look, anything that you're stuck for this week since
this is we've got a less than one week until Christmas.
Now you can get it at Murphy Samonjody dot com.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Just ideas to smark your imagination. Okay, here's a big
problem though that I'm in.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I'm in. We're in together as a big pickle.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
An important gift this year is that everyone in the
family is planning to give my grandfather a family picture
so he can hang them up in his house.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
Is getting a different picture right to give him.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
We are giving him a family picture of the four
of us, Me, Murphy and our girls.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
You're gonna frame it eight by ten.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
He lost all of his He lost all of his
pictures in the flood. Okay, so you know, and there
are two hundred family members that Jody has, and so
it's a lot two hundred.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
It's not that you're eighty.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah, it's a lot, a lot of eight by tens.
This is gonna look like a celebrity wall.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
When we were growing up on that very wall that
goes up the staircase, my grandmother and grandfather they had
every grandchild, so my brother was first, I was second,
and when in order of how we were born, and
that thing was filled.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Well, now it's a new day.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
It's time to put the families and their children, and
so we're gonna all go on the wall because there's
no there's.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Nothing hanging in his house anymore.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Your brother was first. Who gets to go first this time?
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I don't know. That's not I'm not worried about that.
I don't get first in, and we'll get the beetle
take care of it.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
I see what you're saying. You want to put the
birth order up. Oh man, that's gonna get complicated.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
I'm saying, we have another problem. Guess what we're supposed
to produce? An eight by ten family photo. Every photo
that we take that we took together on vacation, some
great family photos, including our Christmas card, which we mailed
out already to family and friends.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
It's a self low res. Yeah, because it used to.
I know, the selfie side of the camera is not
a Those aren't the only photos that we've got. Can't
we get something that we can crop ourselves out of?
Speaker 3 (04:31):
And then no, I can't find anything that I can
print in an eight by ten. It's not low res
except that really cool glossy photo booth picture we took together.
Of course, you know Taylor's holding up an emoji. I
don't think that'll work for the family wall.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I don't know. Give it a little person, you don't
have to do. Does there have to be a stodgy
kind of portrait? Is that?
Speaker 3 (04:53):
I don't want it to be stodgy, you know me.
I want a big, fun picture.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
Anyway, I took that picture this weekend with Murphy's family,
and y'all are on the end, so you can crop
yourself out. Although Murphy's dad will be in.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
It too, that's true. Well, you know, deserves a place
on jo.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yeah, we'll see. We need a family picture like now.
Speaker 6 (05:11):
Coming up next with Murphy, Sam and JOKEI.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Oh, we do have Sanna coming up in a little bit.
And I got to ask him about this because when
this weekend, when I was bringing Parker home from boarding school, Yeah,
I saw Santa in a place I don't think he
was supposed.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
To be coming up next. I'm the poster child for
what not to do before a holiday gathering, as Jodie
can explain to you, And of course, kids, Sanna is
going to be here. He's all right, he's hanging out
with us, you know again, And that's going to be
coming up in literally just about twenty minutes.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Yeah, I think he's checking in now.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
I do have to clarify something with Santa, because you
know I went and got my boy Parker from boarding
school a few days ago.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Sam, you were on a four hour one way trip brit.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
Yeah, that was about nine hours total, you know, with
the restroom breaks and getting Parker together.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
No speeding tickets is to you.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
No, I didn't, by the way, outstanding I I didn't
do the speed limit, but I didn't do it so
obscenely fast that I would get pulled over. Great, you
know how you say it's fifty, you can get away
with sixty. That's what I did.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
So film for you to call and talk to Santa.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
About it helped me out. Somewhere along his drive here
you saw Santa.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Yeah, I did, and it was the most unusual sight
because you know, I saw some deer jumping across the
road and thought, oh, how pretty and pristine reindeer. No deer,
deer deer.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
If Santa was near, maybe they were rained here.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yeah, for clarity.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
Here, they didn't have bells on their neck and no
red noses. Okay, So anyway, I was tooling down the
two lane highway and coming towards me this, you know,
I'm like, I'm looking in and it's like, it's red.
It's red, what is it? And it's it was Santa
Claus on a bicycle.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Yeah, and my red suit, like in that coll red suit.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
I mean he had a suit on, he has his beard.
Obviously he's ready to go because it is almost Christmas time.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Was he high tailing it towards those deer you had
just seen her.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
He was coming towards me, and there were no other
cars on the road, so I had no body to
back me up on this. And he's waiting.
Speaker 6 (07:04):
He waited at you.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Yeah, and Parker was he knows you. Parker was in
the back seat and he wasn't paying attention she. I
was like, Parker, Parker.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Santa Claus on a bicycle.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
Yeah, Well it probably freaked him out. And he looked
out and goes, oh yeah. And Parker wasn't thrilled about
it like I was. And you know, after the fact,
I realized I should have stopped and pulled the car
over and whipped a Yuie and gone and taken a picture.
And I even checked the rearview mirror to make sure
it wasn't one of those. I saw him, but when
I looked in the mirror, he was gone.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah, you totally could have stopped and turned around and
caught him if he was on a bike. Yeah, I
know he has magic, but he must have been getting
his exercise.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
What you know, I did watch it in the mirror
review mirror, and he just kept on going doing down
the highway.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Well, Sarah, you should definitely ask Stan about that when
he gets here.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
But I want to know what the deal was.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Maybe he was doing like a little work and think
about it. He sits in a sleigh that's not good
for anybody's backside for a whole evening.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
So maybe Sama about his backside coming up, and we're
going to answer your email from Murphy Salmon Jodi dot
Com on all that we can think to ask Santa
on the way.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
So I guess we all know what time it is now.
We're very excited about that.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Finally, Hello, good morning Santa.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Well hello, thank you for spending some of your very
precious time with us.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
I know it's your busiest week ever, right.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
It's busy right now, but you know I need the
break and us I've got to check out Sam to
make sure what you list he's.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
On, any of the break from missus Claws.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
No, Sad, I need no break from missus Claus. I
could spend twenty four to seven with that woman. He's
your accolades. Sweet.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
Hey, Sam, I got a quick question for you before
we start here, and we're just talking about this. When
I went and picked up my boy Parker at the
boarding school coming back the other day. I mean we
were on the road in the middle of nowhere, two
lane road, and this guy and a bicycle comes towards me,
starts waving, and the guy was you You were you out.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
There, Sam?
Speaker 5 (09:02):
I have more modes of transportation than just the sleeve.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Yeah, but like, why were you in the middle of nowhere?
Were you following me or checking up on.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
I just said, I've got to figure out which list
you're on.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
No, he was, well, I wasn't now and I did
wave to you, Santa. So that's what kid, didn't you look, you.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
Know, pretty clear eyed?
Speaker 4 (09:22):
It was all right? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
I didn't even think about that because maybe Santa heard
the last time you were driving that stretch of road
you got the.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
Ticket doing eight and fifty.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Oh, I'm familiar.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
It's on one of the lists.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Hey Santa, I have to jump in.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
I believe it was you. I know that you exercise
and you do all kinds of things.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
You got to work hard to maintain a figure like this, I.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Know, to stay in that suit.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
So what are some of the big things you guys
are working on at the North Pole this year?
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Like what are the elves making the most? Have you seen?
Speaker 6 (09:52):
Hmm?
Speaker 5 (09:53):
Lot of bluetooth stuff, a lot of technology, virtual reality.
We have a whole division. It's like, well we call
it Sila Claus Valley in the North Oh. You know,
kids love the technological stuff. I mean, I wish we
could go back to the days where I could build
a wooden horsey or you know, little squirt garden.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
But that's that's not so much the key.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Do You still build some of those things, And.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
I build them for the parents who you know, want
the lame things they played with when they lame things.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
I still want Lincoln logs, any Lincoln logs.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
It's on your list, Jody, Yes, big pieces of brown
wood that he.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
From the country. You know this, right, Okay? Will you
stick around with us? I know you will for a
little while.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
We're gonna get to some of the email the kids
and grown ups have been writing you at Murphy Salmon
Jody dot com.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
I can't wait, Thank you, Santa. We'll do that next.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
So exciting, you know what, This absolutely is our favorite
part of the year when Santa comes and visits us.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Are you comfortable, Santa?
Speaker 5 (11:02):
I'm very comfy. It's nice and toasty in he is Coco. Oh,
the Coco is perfect? Is it just Coco?
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Is there something in that?
Speaker 4 (11:11):
It's that's a little Bailey's irish, you know in there.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
No, Santa does not vibe that's good, and you know
Sam doesn't either anymore. So yeah, yeah, I guess we'll
get to that later.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
We'll get to some email.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
A lot of kids and adults have emailed you at
Murphy saman at Jody dot com. But I willing to
sort of introduce you to our producer, Bailey, who has
been working with us this year Santa, and he used
to listen years ago when you first started doing this
with us.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
I remember when Bailey was a kid, and you know,
and we brought him some power ranges items.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
I believe that's about right.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
Yes, it's exactly right, Bailey.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
Now you get to meet the real man.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Yes, not many people get to do this.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Yeah, I know, this is a pretty intense moment.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
I know.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Not many people get to meet Bailey.
Speaker 6 (12:02):
This is true.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
He keeps it on the d l Okay, you guys
ready to check some email here?
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Yes, it is okay.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Dear Santa, this is from Travis. I love when you
join Murphy, Sam An, Jody and the producers. I love
listening to them every day on my way to work.
When you join the show reminds me that magic still
exists in this crazy world. Well, it would be great
to have you bring me what I want. I realize
they are those less fortunate and in need, So I
will just wish you a merry Christmas.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Hugs from Travis.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Why, thank you Travis.
Speaker 5 (12:34):
And you know that's the whole reason Santa exists is
to remind us that magic is real and magic is
out there. You know, it's a good thing that we
have Christmas, because otherwise we just rush around so much
that we never stop to think about the beauty, the
magic and the meaning in life.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Totally totally agree. Thank you Travis, and thank you Santa.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
You having time for one more quick one, yeah, Keona,
Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is a Sam
Sound Galaxy eight.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah, a paint purse and some boots and heels.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Hmm.
Speaker 5 (13:07):
Well, I'm hoping the Galaxy eight is better than that
last one. You know that we used to have to
make an announcement to all the raindeer that they had
to turn in their Samsung Galaxies before the sleigh took off.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
No, that's right on the seven ye issue with those
batteries last year.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
That's from Keona. All right, stick around and I'll work
on that. Sam wants some insight on the North Pole
coming up?
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Can we do that?
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Yes? And kids, Sanna is here with us, that's right,
Santa Claus is with us. Murphy Salmon, Joni. Could you
joined us every year? And this is the second visits,
which we love. Thank you, Sannah. And we know this
is busy for you.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
Yes, but you know I always have time for you guys.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
So it's a good part of my years. You know
what you were talking about, the fast paced and the
technology and all those things, and you know, similar toys
and similar times. I have a question for you, though,
you've never really considered doing the whole free two day
delivery thing, right from.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
No Santa's not Amazon. You know they can do They
can do what they want.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
Now.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
I have considered switching out the sleeve for a drone, but.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Then you would be cool. But yeah, but the when
then you would hear that sound, the clatter on the
front lawn would then become that.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
Here exactly a new Dolphs knows could take a rest.
We could put a nice little headlight on that sucker.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
I don't think that Amazon can compare, even though they're
fast and impressive.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
You can compare your delivery.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
So that's what makes it special about waiting for that
one day every year.
Speaker 5 (14:37):
Yeah, and let's see Mark Besos climb down a chimney.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
I mean, come on, wow, challenge.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Yeah all right, Hey, Sam, I got a quick joke
for you know, we like to I like to throw
these out for you every year so that you got
something to use around the North Pole with the elves. Okay,
what did Adams? And then you can use this one
on specifically on Sunday? What did Adam say on the
day before Christmas?
Speaker 5 (15:00):
I don't know, Sam, what did Adam say on the
day before Christmas?
Speaker 4 (15:03):
It's Christmas Eve?
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Here you go?
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Oh, religion in there too.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
You know, yeah, you said Christmas.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Yeah, aren't you glad?
Speaker 5 (15:14):
Sam's bringing the joke saying I just switched him on
the list again.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
About that? Sorry about that? We do we have time
for a quick email true from Christian.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Dear Santa, I would like the new three DS XL
with a set of headphones and super Mario Brothers three
D land ps.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
I love you. That's from Christian.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
I love you too, Christian. And you know what else
I love is Mario Brothers Land. That is really cool.
I love those video games.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
You know.
Speaker 5 (15:43):
The cool thing about being Santa is I get to
test out every single toy. So that's that is what
when you wonder what Santa does the rest of the
year most of the time. Yes, I call it quality control,
not plays with toys.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Joviy You know, I'm sorry. That sounds a little bit better.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
But okay, thank you, all right, more with Santa next hour.
You can stick around for a little longer, Yes, yes,
all right, we love you.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Stick around.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
I don't know if you heard the news we got
one jolly guy hanging out with us.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
Yes, and me too.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Hey, Sanna, good morning, I thank you for giving us
some of your precious time.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
Oh everybody's time is precious.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
Look this hour, we want to hear about your favorite
Christmas movie or what you well, what you've been watching.
We also want to hear about your favorite song this year.
I know it sort of changes year to year because
you appreciate it all.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
So be thinking on that.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
It is Santa before we kind of get moving a
little further. I know we've been talking a little bit,
but and I've kind of been holding off asking about this.
But is your boy there this year? Elvis? I'm here
all right, el it came along, no no problems this year.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
You know I was just fish back off. It was
this little health so riled up. Now it's a very
nice ELF. He is part he did former Union, he
created the ELF Teamsters. But now other than that, he's
very new.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
He's got an ELF Union. And what kind of demands
did I throw on your Santah.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
What he means, Elvis, that's not what he means.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
I mean it's gotta be a rough uh, I guess
house to work in. I mean they work eight to.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
Five, nine to five, twelve half the weekends, just like
with Santa Sam. Our work is our joy. That's what
we do. So actually they formed a union just to
ask me not to change anything about the way we
work in the North Hole, because what we do is
the best thing anybody can do. It's service serving other people,
(17:46):
and out of the goodness of your heart, that's the
best thing you can do.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
Is that true, Elfas? Or is he just talking out
the side of his mouth the front of his mouth?
Speaker 6 (17:56):
I'm like, you're out?
Speaker 4 (17:58):
Okay, Well, Elphis, I just want to let you know
I've kind of learned my lesson from last year. No more,
no short jokes or little jokes this year. I respect
you for what you do, Elphis. I know you're waiting,
but it's not going to happen.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Wow, I'm surprised to yeah, I know because I know
you have a short fuse.
Speaker 4 (18:19):
I'm so.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Freaking up.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
Oh time, you're going to have some bites on your range.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
Hey, he said that, Elphis, not me.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Or I don't go after me?
Speaker 3 (18:33):
No, okay, okay, more with Santa on the way your
emails too. Are more of your emails kids from Murphy,
Sam and Jody dot com.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Santa Claus is hanging out with us. Thank you Santa
for being here. Well, I'm glad to be here in
the comfortable, Yes, and so I want to ask you
about a few things. You know, we like to Sam's
always good about the naughty and nice list, which we've
got that coming up. You know, Sam is.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
Not always good about the naughty. I know sometimes Sam's
naughty about the.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
Control of that one.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
So, you know, some of the big things of this
past year. You know, there was a lot of tragedy,
you know, this year, but we want to focus on
some of the fun things and all of the big,
big trends. I just want to know if this is
going to be in a lot of stockings again. Fidget spinners.
Speaker 5 (19:20):
Yeah, you know, kids are still asking for them, playing
with them. Every few years, some little toy comes along
and captures everybody's imagination, right, That's where the fidget.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
Spinners are right now. So yes, I say yes, And
I don't own one yet. Every time I'm in a
convenience store, I think about buying one because they're right
there at the cash register. And I know you're wondering,
why am I always at a convenience store? Why, indeed, Murphy,
what exactly I need to come track you? A little bit? Snacks?
Speaker 5 (19:48):
Usually no snacks, right, you know about that, right?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
So fidget spinners. Check, got it? So they're still hot? Okay, Sam,
you had one?
Speaker 2 (19:58):
What happened?
Speaker 4 (19:59):
I still have one that's on my nightstand. I play
with it sometimes at night before I go to bed.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
That's good to know.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
Yeah, well, Santa stress reliever. I see him when he's sleeping.
I know when he's awake, and I know when he's
playing with his physness.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
Yeah, okay, let's talk about Christmas songs all right? What
is your favorite right now? What have you been listening?
Speaker 5 (20:22):
You know every year? You know, the term streaming is
not something you want to hear when you own a
stable full of raindeer. I have been streaming the Christmas
music and enjoying it, and I have to say this year,
the song I've been enjoying the most is a song
that doesn't really get played, not but Christmas time.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
It's a classic.
Speaker 5 (20:45):
Is that you, Santa Claus?
Speaker 1 (20:47):
By Louis Armstrong?
Speaker 4 (20:49):
That you Sani Claus?
Speaker 1 (20:54):
You know that's a Louis Armstrong song I have not
heard very often, Santa.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
Yes, many people don't nowhere, but it's one of Santa's
favorites for sure.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Certainly is different.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
Hang in the Socca I.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Can hear I need it.
Speaker 5 (21:12):
It's nicely.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
It's all about me. A lot of the Christmas songs
are that makes sense to me. That is a good one.
Thank you for that, because we'll have to dig down
from that.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
I'm going to put that on a playlist now, Santa,
you introduced me to something new. Can you believe that
every year?
Speaker 5 (21:31):
I hope. So. Now that's a fun one. If you
want to have one that tells you about the real
meaning of Christmas, suggest Sweet Little Jesus Boy by Mehelia Jackson.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
But that's a little bit different. Yes, that is New
Orleans natives. There you go.
Speaker 5 (21:45):
I used to bring them toys with they were children.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
In New Orleans.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Yeah, the Santa man. We're digging deep here.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
So okay, if we talk a little bit more with
you about what you do, like when you know the
rest of the year, like what have you been binging?
Speaker 2 (21:58):
And we'll do favorite.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
Binging, I'll say that pot.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Okay, I will stick around.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
We'll do some more of that more with Santa on
the way.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Yes, it is the most wonderful time of the year,
and we've got the most wonderful person that we can
possibly have in the studio with this Santa Claus.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Hey, good morning, good morning, Thanks for doing this again.
You look so comfortable and cozy, and I know you're
actually busy. Do you ever feel that busy stress feeling
that you know some people do at Christmas time when.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
It's eating what I live?
Speaker 5 (22:32):
You know, this is my whole raison depth oh France till.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
We so you know, Santa. One other event, Jody wants
loves to know what you do when it's not Christmas time.
You know, we know what you do when it's Christmas.
So I have a question for you. Know this past
year we had that incredible eclipse. Did you get to
where I mean from the North Pole? Was it like
the best ever?
Speaker 5 (22:53):
Or what that was?
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Like?
Speaker 5 (22:54):
Prime viewing spot? You know, but you have to put
on the special glasses to watch that thing.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
Yeah, you don't want to stare at that.
Speaker 5 (23:02):
No, Santa would never stare at an eclipse. But once,
at one point, I passed the Moon between the Moon
and the Earth on a sleigh and I caused a
bit of an eclipse.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
Yes, you think about that. You do cast a wide
shadow when you're that high upy y atmosphere.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Okay, I want to know what you have been have
you been do you binge watch TV shows?
Speaker 5 (23:26):
I bene Everything, Jody, I bringe co Co and Peppermints
and entertainment. There's there's a lot of we we get
together as a group and we watch some of the
family things together. We were like Fuller House. The elves
like that. Yeah, that's what we're living with as well.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
The kids, I mean the elves watch the kids channel
on Netflix. You know you can do it special logging
for kids only.
Speaker 5 (23:49):
Yes, we have, we have, you know, just like there
are kid filters, there are elf filters.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
What are else not allowed to watch?
Speaker 6 (23:56):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (23:57):
You know things?
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Things did upset them?
Speaker 5 (23:59):
Any thing that you might be on sat.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Anything, Sam watch all right, thank you?
Speaker 4 (24:06):
Elvis?
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Okay, Santa? What Christmas movie have you been watching? I
know you always watch at least one.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
There's one that is about a family that's going through
a lot of change and they're worried that Christmas in
their lives won't be the same and that seems to
speak to a lot of people in the world this year.
So that's been really touching to me. Also, one of
my favorite Christmas songs come from it. It's Meet Me
in Saint Louis with Judy Garland.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
And I think I may have seen that when I
was a child, but that was it.
Speaker 5 (24:40):
It's time to take a look again your sw.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Is that where that song came from? Santam?
Speaker 5 (24:48):
Yes, it's one of the greatest Christmas songs.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Every Christmas recommendation from Santa the best. All right, stick around,
We're gonna answer some email with Santa coming up next.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
You knows trouble.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
He's jolly. His belly shakes like a bowl full of jelly.
Thank you, Murphy, not Sam Santa Claus.
Speaker 2 (25:11):
Oh, yes, me too, Santa.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
How often do you go to the to the doctor
at the North Pole?
Speaker 5 (25:18):
Well, I I have an elf doctor, which is very
convenient for a guy like me because there's all sorts
of you know, rolls and crevices to check. That's exactly right.
It's basically my what my medical team is working on me.
It looks like a bunch of construction workers on the
toll you have.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
Do you have elf nurses too, Yes, yes we do.
Candy striperspers again, very nice, Move you over to the niceness.
I'm working it.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
That's all it takes.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Okay, look, Santa, we promised the kids we would answer
some email and you have a lot of email. Uh,
that's coming to Murphy Samon Jody dot com.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
I love good. Look anyway a child communicates with me,
I'm going to get that communication.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Write me a night, make a.
Speaker 5 (26:08):
Wish out loud, keep it to yourself, put it in
an email.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Santa will know we have one from and we have
children and adults writing in. This is from Cheyenne. Dear Santa,
I may be eighteen and autistic, but I still believe
in you. I know that the Christmas season isn't about
getting presents. It's about giving and spending time with people
that we hold Dear, I hope that you have been
watching me because I've been trying my best to be good. Yes,
(26:34):
I have what I've been wanting for Christmas this year,
some more generation for my little ponies. There are some
specific ones I need to add. Sunny rays, plum, sweet
and flitter heart all right and that sweet.
Speaker 5 (26:49):
Yes, you know what Cheyenne brings up A good point.
Santa loves all kinds of children, and there are all
kinds of special kids out there who have different conditions
that make them feel on the outside of things, or
that people don't always understand. But sometimes the most incredibly
(27:10):
deep thinkers. The kindest people in the world are the
ones who don't say much or don't do much, and
I know that about you. Cheyenne so sweet.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
She ends this with anyway, I hope that you, missus,
Claws and the reindeer are doing okay at the North Pole,
and I can't wait to see you on Christmas Eve.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Well, same here.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Thank you for the email.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
Send anything to sants at Murphy samand at Jody dot com.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
We love you too, Sanna.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Santa is still with us, but you we're getting a
message from Missus Clause that you have to jet out
of here.
Speaker 5 (27:43):
And it is you know, the s phone just went off.
Apparently there's some things to solve up there. So okay,
I better be running, but I will be back.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Okay, let's do another little visit with you tomorrow, right, excellent?
Speaker 4 (27:58):
Come, Sorry, we're kind of dropp and that one on
your elfie. Is that okay? That we get Santa back tomorrow?
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Yeah? That much going on.
Speaker 5 (28:05):
I meant to check out.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
Sorry, Sorry for the short notice.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
You know, Santa, it's important to have somebody like that
working with you, who's as feisty as elfhaeist.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
Yeah, that's what Murphy says. Yeah, it's right.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
You know, Santa, every year when we visit with you,
we like to throw up the naughty in the nice list.
Did you tell us how folks have been going? But
this seems to be twenty seventeen seems to be full
of the naughty side of facts.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Oh, let me tell you.
Speaker 5 (28:35):
I mean, here's the reams of paper for the naughty list. Yes, yeah,
and then let's see here's a post it note for
the nice list.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
I figured we'd kind of go to the top of
the naughty list or just get throw out one person
here and you can ask me. I want to know
if Donald Trump, you know, he's a year into it now,
does he ever come to you for advice at No, No.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
I don't get used to anyone for advice. Advisers.
Speaker 5 (29:01):
Those tweets wouldn't go out if he came to me
for advice. But I don't know. Santa doesn't tweet. Santa
waits and keeps it special once a year, you know,
come out and.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
Be selective. That's my advice. I love that, Santa. You
do keep it simple. I think you remind us every
year about just the you know, sometimes simple as best exactly.
Speaker 5 (29:22):
Speaking of it, Sam, every time he opens his mouth
reminds us simple.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
As best, something that you've taught us over the years.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
I wanted to restate for any child who's listening to
you with us for the first time, and that is
it's okay. Whatever you leave for Santa, you love everything right.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
Is absolutely Santa's taste buds are are attuned to the
love that goes into whatever someone selects. So I like veggies,
I like cookies, I like brownies, I like pot roast,
I like anything a child leaves with the intention of love.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
I would drink.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
Milk, warm milk, cold milk. I'll drink lemonade. I'll drink
hot chocolate, cold chocolate iced.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
Elfis, do you have a favorite that people leave for you? Yeah,
when they leave me, let us at say they.
Speaker 6 (30:12):
Don't like you.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
Sir, you're going to get on the naughty icy.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Okay, Santa, we love you.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Santa's got me hungry for pot roast.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Now let's have one by Santa.
Speaker 7 (30:29):
Judy's Hollywood outsider to hear that Enrique Glacias is a daddy.
Speaker 4 (30:36):
Not just one daddy.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
No, well, he is one daddy to twins. Okay, So
he and Anna Kornakova have been together for a long time,
and they're very secretive about their relationship, I should say,
not secret in his door.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Private.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
Well, I mean it's so private that I didn't realize
they were still together because I know they were together
for a long time tennis star and a Kornakova mess.
I thought they had broken up and gone their separate way.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
They may have here again private, they keep it between them,
They keep it to themselves. But yeah, they started dating
and became a thing in two thousand and one, so
oh lord, yes, And what's funny, she has been out
of the public eye for about a year, so nobody
knew she was pregnant, and by being on the weekend,
they share these photos on you know, Instagram and with
(31:20):
social media that hey, they've welcomed a baby boy and
a baby girl named Nicholas and Lucy.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
You know what, great names.
Speaker 4 (31:27):
You know what. That's a great example of the fact
that you can live in Hollywood and be and keep
it away from everybody. Right.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
I can't even remember an interview where I've seen him
talking about anything other than maybe music or her about
her life. They just there, which maybe is one one
thing they have in common that whole This is what
I want to do with my life. It doesn't mean
I want to be in the spotlight.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
Wait, you know what this means. This means Julio Iglesias
is a grandfather.
Speaker 5 (31:53):
Mmm.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
It's sure.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Those are some beautiful lullabies. Yes, anyway, sweet babies, Nicholas Linescay.
I like those names, classic, classic names. Mariah Carey in
the news for something. Mariah Carey wants to be in
the news.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
For speaking, not staying out of the public eye.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Since she released this song in nineteen ninety four, it
never broke the top ten until now. It broke the
top ten this past week. Finally, apparently she and you know,
she's kind of the queen of Christmas. And I guess
there's more streaming and more music being consumed right now.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Because here we are. She was never in the top ten,
never in the top ten.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
Everything else she's ever done has been I thought this
was one of her most loved anyway, And you do
know that you're the music man around here, Sam. She
is reportedly preparing for a Vegas residency in twenty eighteen,
so we shall see. She'll have to get all the
mics right and she'll have to get all that right.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
I hate to work that show, huh.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
Because you've got to perform live if you do that.
And the word is, she's still Mariah. She can still
sing like no one, but she can't hit those high
high notes like she could in the nineties.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Still and you could.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
She's still Mariah now.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
Brittany sings along with a track, so I can't.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Mariah and sells out every night.
Speaker 5 (33:06):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
Are coming up in your next Hollywood Outsider this morning
at eight thirty some holiday specials tonight. You and the
kids need to know about it up today, boys, Jody's
Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
You know, I'm happier. I feel like a better person
today because Sanna was here. That's just me. Do you
feel the same way.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
I always feel lucky to spend time with him, and
he always feel like a child when I talk to him.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
Well, you old Jody, he gives us hope and love it.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
That's a pretty good impression, Sam, Thank you.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
Now, hope into that.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
In case you missed that, you know, grab the Murphy
Samon Jodi podcast and listen again or share it with
your kids. It's free to subscribe and get that and
it'll just you know, you'll get it on your phone.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
Yeah, share it with everybody.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Check that out.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
So Gift Today we started this right after Thanksgiving. Jody's
had an awesome list and Sam and I've actually had
some gifts for guys. Who're gonna add a few more
before the holidays.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
Oh yeah, today's Gift Today idea for anybody who's not
You don't have to just be a foodie.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
It's a kitchen gift.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
I like kitchen gifts because I'm always in my kitchen
and I end up using these things.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
If you give the right thing, I use it.
Speaker 4 (34:14):
I use much give k It's true.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
And do you have to be careful though some aren't.
Some kitchen things kind of like a wallet for a guy.
It can be personal or you.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Some things are always used in a kitchen, like measuring
cups and measuring spoons.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
And I was given last year.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
We were giving these little cute measuring spoons that are
like foxes and one of them is a monkey, and
they're just cute, and I think of that person who
gave it to us every time I've been giving them
years and years ago.
Speaker 2 (34:42):
That were heart shaped. Have you seen those in the kitchen.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
They're sturdy and they're just I don't know, It's just
a cute gift if you really don't know what else
to do.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
The measuring cups I like, and I have these in
my kitchens because they're practical. Are those kinds that they
fold down on each other?
Speaker 2 (34:56):
Yeah, I don't have those.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
You know, they're everybody's flat so you can store it and.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
It's a good type measurement. It's not well, I didn't
get wobbly or anything like that.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
No, no, no, okay.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
Another thing you can give go to like a home
decore or kitchen store and you can find beautiful glass
bottles that are meant for oils. You can find them
with the little decorations on them or whatever.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Looks like violins or guitars or whatever. I've seen those before.
You ever seen those that the instrument the shaved ones?
Speaker 2 (35:22):
Yeah, those are cool.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
But anyway, you can do those yourself and put all
of oil in them and then give them wrap a
ribbon around. That's a good kitchen gift because most people
are going to use that too.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
And in your car, yes, you can say, hell, wow,
how you're single?
Speaker 4 (35:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (35:38):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
And we also last year my cousin Candace gave us
a cheeseboard. What and we had not bought That's something
I wouldn't have bought for myself. She bought it for
us and we've used it. It's really cool.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
Yeah. You actually you can cool the stone so that
keeps the cheese.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
Yeah, that's all right.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Yeah, it's a good kitchen gifts. So check out those ideas.
Was just to spark your imagination. Kitchen gifts work if
people are in their kitchen all the time. Yeah, check
them out. Murphy Sam and Jody dot Com showing up
next with Murphy Sam and Jody.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
All Right, I'm gonna give you a perfect example of
what not to do for a holiday party next in
case you missed that visit with Santah. You know, I
got to take off. He's got business time time take off. Yeah,
and so we've got that at the Murphy Sam and
Jody Podcast. Subscribe for free listen on your schedule kids.
That way you never miss Santa when he's here. Easy.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
We had this big party the other night at the
house Murphy's extended family. I didn't what's funny is I
didn't actually do the official head count, but we were
near thirty people.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
I want to say, did everybody make it?
Speaker 2 (36:38):
Yes, yeah, yeah, everybody.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
You're looking at me like I'm just making sure everybody
that was invited showed up.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
Everybody that was invited did show.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
Actually, yeah, some early, so I'm late, but they all
showed and it was good. Well, what's funny is that, Murphy,
and I want you to know that you were so
sweet the night when once everybody left, you were like,
you did so good. You were hugging me and being
so appreciative. That was really really sweet.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
Well, I just want to because you really, you know,
you've got that down.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
Down to the tea.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
I know what needs to be done the day before,
and I know it needs to be done the morning of.
And I think like that I show so much like that.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Show that Jody is passing on assignments usually before well,
girls have their job. I definitely have my job. I'm
so glad you give me a checklist.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
The Murphy list was just a few things in the
morning of, go get ice for me, simple stuff.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
I wanted you to hang.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
A picture in the you know, switch a switch to
a Christmas picture in the bathroom. Yes, what else was
on your list? There was something away the big coffee
there were I.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
Had some electronics hanging out a.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
Christmas picture in the bathroom. Yeah, the girls when you're going,
you're feeling the mood.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Just getting my house ready for Christmas. Christmas, way, I
want it done.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
We've got a We've got a big old eight by ten,
maybe bigger than that of Shanta Anna that hangs over
the mantle.
Speaker 4 (37:53):
I can't say over the toilet.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
No anyway.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
Anyway, what's funny is that this is what makes me crazy,
and I guess I'll get better at it. But on
those days, you understand the clock is chicking, and I
want to be ready thirty minutes before the invite says
because people come early. Murphy veers off of his list
all morning. It drives me crazy. At one point you're
asking me, hey, you want to hang the stand a
(38:17):
picture now?
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Oh yeah, yeah, I am not on the list. The
bright Chinese. Yeah. If I stick to the list, I'm okay.
But I mean, you dig into one thing and you
realize there's something else you got to take care of.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
You didn't even need to put new batteries in the
snowman and raindeer right that morning. It did not matter
it's a daytime parting not on the list.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
That Yeah, I will stick to the list from now on.
Speaker 2 (38:38):

favorite Christmas movie is or what they have to watch it.

Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world,
I think about the Arrivals Gated he throw upward.
Speaker 4 (39:32):
Nice to see Julie that you agree it is a
Christmas movie.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
Well, it's definitely set at Christmas.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
Christmas time.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
Finally, is a Christmas Eve program. I mean all that
kind of stuff going on. Although I feel like it's
a rom com.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
You just have to remember though it is the unedited version,
that not made for TV version is objectionable, so it's
not kids are not gonna be able to I.
Speaker 3 (39:50):
Mean that story can almost lift right out though. That
one objectionable could almost lift right out.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
And I think in the version it airs on TBS
or whatever, they do lift that.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
Do you know what, they don't take it out Hugh
Grant dancing, which they cannot take out.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
That is the best. I love that part.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
I could watch that part of that movie over over again,
So thank you for that.
Speaker 8 (40:10):
Yeah, and something else that Actually, I don't think a
lot of people think that this is a Christmas movie,
but Cheryl says that the sound of music is something
that she watches every time.
Speaker 1 (40:21):
You know what's funny about that? Our girls asked me.
Taylor and Phoebe both say, okay, my favorite things. Why
is that a Christmas song? Daddy? And now the movie
came out before I was born, so I would have
to go back and see. Is it possible that this
movie was shown at Christmas time? And because it has Christmas.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
Remember it when she sings the favorite Things? Is it
a Christmas segment in the movie.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
I've seen it.
Speaker 4 (40:39):
But this movie got showed every year on NBC at
Easter time, didn't it?
Speaker 2 (40:43):
Right? I feel like that.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
I feel like I've said, I don't understand why it's
a Christmas movie either. But it's a tradition for you, Cheryl,
that's particle. It's a beautiful, lovely family movie.
Speaker 1 (40:53):
It is a long yep.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
It is a good one.
Speaker 8 (40:55):
Okay, okay, and then Raychelle says, my husband and I
totally disagree on this, but he says die Hard, But
I say, a Christmas story.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
I love the leg lamp. Gosh, I saw a leg
lamp the other day in a restaurant get together.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
The leg lamp is not in Diehard, right, Yeah, that's
the Christmas Story movie.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
I can't I don't understand.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
We should get that another try. It's one of those
that when people are into it, they love it.
