Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Murphy, Sam and Jody after the show got
a new episode that we do for you every day.
So thank you for being a podcast subscriber and hanging
out with us little bit longer today.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Okay, So throwing out Valentine's Day ideas because you know,
whether you've been together forever, it does still matter, or
if you're new, you know, it does still matter that
you do a little something, and I do believe in
the little something. I just think it does not need
to be grandiose, right, and it is personal. What works
for one sweet a pair of sweethearts does not necessarily
(00:31):
work for the other. It is not one size fits all.
And we were sharing that My favorite Valentine's Day, seriously
with Murphy was all those years ago when you were
dropping little conversation hearts. We were at work, it was
on a weekday, just like this week, and I would
find a little hey, hug me conversation heart at my desk,
(00:51):
and then I found one in my car seat.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
I found them all day long in little places, you know.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
You put one in my jacket pocket and I found
it later in the day and it was just really
cute from him.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
You didn't think it was an open box somewhere.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
I knew it was from him because the way.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
I found another one.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
I knew it was from him, because the way he
would look at me when I found it. Oh, he
was always looking at me when I found him, that
old wink across the room here at work.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
So so it's good to know impressed you eighteen years ago.
But you know, I don't know clearly. I've lost my touch, Sam.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Yeah that's not true. He said you lost your touch.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
I don't think that's an idea. Something like that is
all that it really takes, you.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Know, and through the years, that's what gets really tricky
to me about giving it. You don't want to duplicate,
but keeping it simple really is best.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
I don't want to be predictable either.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, my favorite. But I think I did it like
three or four times and then I really needed to
change the game. But I would do the scavenger hunt
type thing. Yeah, you know, here's a note, go look here,
go look there, and then eventually she would finally get
to the fifth or sixth place and give up.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
We did that in the Old House a lot. Yeah,
that was fun. You did that.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
I did one once where I I don't remember which
wife it was.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
But I wait, you really don't remember which person it was?
Speaker 5 (02:08):
No, I don't seem you should either color code these
or something.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
So it's so funny how your mind. Maybe that's the
male brain versus the female. But because I can remember
the person that the gift was attached to more than
the specific gift.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
Well, I put it this way, I know it wasn't
wife number one, it was one of the others. I
came up with the name of about a dozen restaurants
that we like to eat at, but put each one
on a slip of paper, tied a string to each one,
and then tie them all together in a bow or
I like a knot. And I was like, pick the end,
pick the end string, pick a string.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
That's where we eat.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
And then pick a string and then we'll follow it
down to the restaurant and boom, that's where we go eat.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Cool And you don't remember what restaurant was chosen by
what girl?
Speaker 5 (02:47):
No, I don't know who I took where.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Another one that stands out though, is the person I
was dating in college and I knew the relationship was
over when she gave me for Valentine's Day some Colonne
the box was like obviously had been opened earlier. And
then when I took the colone out, it had obviously
been used a lot, enough of it enough to know
(03:10):
that it had been used. Okay, it kind of you
kind of got the impression that because I thought that
at the time, you know, this feels like it was
not going anywhere. And then when I got the used
you know, colone, it was a gift, I thought, Okay,
she didn't care enough to get me anything. This is wow,
this is what I got laying around.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
I would almost rather nothing than use cologne.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
And so sure enough, within the week it was over
with man. Not because of the cologne, but it was
like that was just like the nail.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
It would have felt it would have fallen anyway, fallen
away anyway. Can you remember anything I ever gave you.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
Murv specific to Valentine's Day?
Speaker 3 (03:48):
I can't either. That's why I'm out.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
No, I can't.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Actually, I usually I usually make something for you as
food wise. I did red velvet cupcakes one year. Ice
you've done the snack things before, Yeah, you're snacky.
Speaker 5 (04:01):
The toffee was no, that was Christmas time.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
But there was talking was our anniversary.
Speaker 5 (04:05):
I think was that.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Okay, but you know it's sad to say. I don't
remember the specifics.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
But the male brain brain what I do have?
Speaker 1 (04:15):
I mean, but I keep the notes, the little notes
of encouragement and things or whatever that you've left over
the years.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
That are just a special I've got those.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
You're the best pick up the laundry.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Well, hey, don't forget. There's another outcoming this Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Yeah. Or a letter, a letter to each other.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Let's just know, Jody, you keep asking how long does
it have to be? It doesn't have to be too long.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Well, Sam wants Jody and I to write letters to
each other, you know, for Valentine's Day, And I guess
we haven't done that really for each other in a
long time.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
I don't know that I've ever written you a letter.
I'm not that girl's note cards. Yeah, okay, if it
gets long, okay, not cards, I can do. If it
gets real long, you know, just hit the bullet points
for us.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
You got it, just like we did in our vowels.
Bullet points.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Missed any part of the show, y'all a Murphy, Sam
and Jody, Come, Come,
