Speaker 1 (00:03):
All right, time to get started on this Thursday. Jodie's
gonna want up your peanut butter pie later, Sam.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Yes, I heard it's going million.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
Dollars millionaire pie. It's similar, so I just thought I'd
bring another cool pie recipe.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Okay, it's always like a contest winner millionaire pie or oh.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
My grand it was my grandmother's recipe.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Yeah, so that means it wanted at the occasional church
bake safe.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
I was about to say that means it probably came
from a church pot luck dinner. Baby God, those were
happy days after church and my family. Millionaire pie, that's right,
we'll do that for you coming up later on.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Okay, my Murphy, this is for you. You know that
Amazon they've had for a while now, that key and
home deal where if you buy the right kind of
lock for your house, they can actually bring the packages
to your home and get it.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Yeah, when you do your order, you know, whoever's delivering
can do that temporary code, open the door, drop your
box inside, and then they're on their.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Source of anxiety for mister safety.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
I know.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Uh, but they now they just unveiled this week key
in car, which is the same thing they can actually
bring it to your car and put it in your car,
either in the car or they can do it in
the trunk. It only really yeah, it only works in
thirty seven cities now where Amazon key is you can
actually they actually have Amazon Key which is the same
city as the house thing works in. You've got to
have prime and the cars right now, it's only a
(01:16):
limited number of cars, but it's GMO on Chevys, Buicks,
GMCs and Cadillacs that have on Stars and Volvos with
their Vovo on on call accounts. Open the car when
they get to it and put the package in, close
it up and go on their way.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
I would do that before I let somebody in my house. Truly,
there's nothing in my car. I'm not gonna leave you know,
valuables in my car. I never do. M hmm, what
about you? Murph?
Speaker 1 (01:39):
You do you? Are you seeing? You do the car?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
I would do the car before the house, you know
what I mean. I would rank up the car and with.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
The house when is easy enough because you can also
point the camera at it, you know what I mean,
So it's not there's not going to be any question
of what's going on. And I think you get the
alert when it's been unlocked and done.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Are we to expect this in the future then, because
you seem so sold on the house thing.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Well, I mean we're going to have to have it
available to us first before we can do it.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
But yeah, it's going to be available and for the
house when you actually have to buy some hardware, it.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Will be guys, it's all coming.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
The whole thing that's raised out me is like, really,
you can't wait two days for free shipping.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
But it's not about that. It's about you know, people
who are worried your packages are going to be stolen
from the.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Horch pirates or what about weather or conditions Like we
had super worms show up the other day that we
buy to feed the bearded dragons.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Well, you definitely know what to put those in the trunk.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
I didn't want them outside for too long, right, I
need them to be fresh for those beardies coming out Hollywood.
It's not just going to be the biggest movie of
spring or summer, but maybe the whole year. Okay, Avengers
Infinity War is here this weekend, guys, So some of
the first reviews are big, big, big.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
Judy's Hollywood outside.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Sry guys, this is the weekend for one of the
biggest movie openings of all time. And you know, you
hear that all that term thrown around on the last
hundred years, and it's always involving Marvel. This one is okay,
it's Infinity War.
Speaker 6 (03:11):
In time, you will know what it's like to lose,
to feel so desperately that you're right, get to fail
all the same.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Okay, So that motion capture scary villain. There is Josh Brolin. Okay,
that's the bad villain here, in fact, so bad it
takes everybody to defeat him. It's Avengers Infinity War and
it's so funny. Murphy. Our daughter Taylor, she's sixteen. She's
currently doing her first job ever. She got a job
(03:42):
and she's training in it now so she can really
work this summer. And it's at a movie theater. And
when she was interviewing, the manager told her it's gonna
be nuts for Infinity War. She came, yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Well, you know, when the theater manager is talking like that,
I guess it is going to be a big movie.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
That's why Taylor started three four weeks ago to be
ready for this weekend. I don't know if she has
her weekend schedule yet. But she's going to be working
and she's always coming home worn out.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Right, she's gonna have two bags of popcorn in each
hand and balancing one on the top of her head
to make that way work.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
She keeps forgetting to bring popcorn home. It's like Taylor.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
At home.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Remember, she can bring some home every day, Yeah, but
she hasn't yet anyway to the reviews of Avengers Infinity War,
tickets were already out selling anything Marvel's ever brought us.
And by the way, did you realize the first Marvel
movie was Iron Man, and it was like in the
early two thousand, two thousand and eight or nine. Really,
I thought that was even longer ago. I feel like
they've been with us forever, these guys. So everybody's here.
(04:38):
Robert Dunney Junior, the Chris is, Chris Evans, Chris Hensworth,
Chris Pratt, they call him the Chrises.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Well because this one they have the Avengers, but they
also have the Guardians at the Galaxy.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
I know Chadwick Boseman in this one, rightly so strange.
Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Lay on the set at the same time. I guess
they weren't have to be, but how cool would that be?
That is a huge all star.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
It is jy enormous.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
What I have heard from some of the reviews is
the best stuff in here is the Guardians and Thor
interacting together. That's supposedly this is almost like a Guardian's movie.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Some of the reviews, Wow, Avengers and Vinity War is
the real deal. Was left breathless sitting in the theater,
terrifying and amazing. I felt inspired and exhausted. And then
there are of course some stinker reviews. But if you
love a good action movie and you love these guys,
it's going to be exciting for you and busy at
(05:31):
the theater.
Speaker 7 (05:32):
Up to date with Judy's Hollywood Outsider coming up.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
More from the labor and delivery room, Right, Jody?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Right? What dudes? And well, anybody is not supposed to
say to you when you're in labor. Deborah's got one
straight from a sitcom. Send us a message or a
line or a comment anytime on Instagram, Facebook, or at
Murphy Samonjody dot com, or you can call eight seven
seven three one zero four ms j E are you Debra?
Speaker 8 (06:02):
I am just wonderful.
Speaker 9 (06:03):
I am calling in regards to my labor and delivery
was twenty years.
Speaker 8 (06:08):
Ago, and it was a thirty six hour labor. This
was in the twenty fifth hour, so it was very long, rough,
and I was absolutely done by that time as well.
But I'm moaning groaning, fetal monitor tied, you know, the
whole thing, Jody, and my husband goes Seinfeld's on. I
can't hear it, no what.
Speaker 9 (06:31):
Yeah, he did, and I'm sure that it was like
the Exorcist at that time. I lasitated over to Mansus,
like I remember my hands going around us. Next Well,
she's twenty and he's still alive. But I never ever
ever let him forget that he told me to show
while she was being born. Probably now we laugh about it,
(06:56):
but I almost killed him.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Sure, I cannot even understand accept Maybe he just for
a moment forgot where he was because you guys had
been there so long. You know, you can't forget it.
You can't lose sight of context of where you are
and what you're doing. I mean, Seinfeld watch that every day.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Yeah, but Seinfeld is a good show. You don't want
to miss a joke, you know, And it's.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Funny no, that hurts.
Speaker 9 (07:21):
I just thought it was funny with a funny conversation,
so I had to call in.
Speaker 8 (07:24):
I want to thank you, guys. I absolutely love your
morning shows.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
Thank you, appreciate you call us anytime. Okay, thank you.
Speaker 8 (07:32):
Have a wonderful day.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
You too, you too, And you know now I finally
feel better about bringing a Snickers bar into the room
with you.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Joe, what you did, what you did was so light
and cute, even Murphy. I'm speaking of Jerry Seinfeld. We
have found a bunch of his stand up on Netflix.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
There's a couple of new things on there.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I can't get enough of the baby. I'm crazy about
the baby you kissed, the baby you love. The baby
is the most wonderful thing. But let us make no
mistake about why these babies are here.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
They are here to replace us.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Oh, Jerry Seinfeld, what's really funny because our daughters do
It's like Daddy, that is not funny, Seinfeld.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
I know they don't. They don't understand. Eight seven seven
three one zero four six seven five. Danielle, We're coming
to you next, guys. She says she's got the ultimate
labor and delivery foot in mouth story.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Okay, now you started today with us. We're always love
to hear from you. It's our favorite thing. Eight seven
seven three one zero four ms J.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Yeah, more of what not to say to a woman
who's in labor and delivery. Who's in the delivery room, Danielle,
you said, did you? You guys are laughing about yours
this morning?
Speaker 6 (08:46):
We were, we were laughing about. That's what the kids
were laughing about. They're like, remember what daddy told you
when you were having me? Oh, okay, maybe I should
call them a lesson.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
No.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
Yes, So when my daughter, when I was with my
daughter and having her, my husband was deployed and we
did it through webcam, so he watched while I was
giving birth on webcam and he was in Afghanistan and
it was three o'clock in the morning for him, and
I have babies very quickly, and in the middle of
(09:16):
like pushing, pushing, pushing, I mean, baby's like I'm pushing
and he says, hey, honey, can you just hold on
for just one minute.
Speaker 9 (09:23):
I've got a pee.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Wow, now stop And just looked over at the camera
and he goes, okay, I'll hold it. The funniest thing, yes,
like the entire room.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Just was like unbelievable. And to this day does he
realize that that was like you're.
Speaker 8 (09:42):
Oh yeah, oh well.
Speaker 6 (09:44):
And then the next time I had my third babe
and he was once again. This time he was in
another location deployed, and he was walking on webcam.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
He jokingly said, Hey, is this a good time to pee?
Speaker 6 (09:56):
And everybody laughed because we were like, yeah, okay, that
was funny the first.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Yeah, well, thank you for that, Danielle.
Speaker 6 (10:04):
I just thought i'd share because I thought you guys
would get a kick out of that.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Oh big time. Thank you. Yeah, I appreciate the call.
All I can figure is maybe it's a context thing.
He didn't get it because he was on the other
side of the camera, you know what I mean, not
grasping the full effect of the room and everything that's
going on.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Is there a flip side to this? Is there something
that is there a certain situation where women say things
that dudes can't believe? Is there a counter to this
that happened a delivery room or in life. I'm just
saying for men husbands across the country, is there a
counter because a lot of dudes do this and they
don't mean it.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Sadly, I don't think that there is. I mean, even
if you brought one up and your comparing it to
the birth of a child, yeah, which guys don't do obviously,
So no, I don't.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Think there's nothing that serious.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Now, all right, look keep them coming, because we love
to hear from you. Eight seven seven three to one
zero for MSJ.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
Coming up with Murphy's Sam, Sam, We're.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Gonna take your peanut but pie, and I raise you,
huh not, I raise you. It's not a competition a
millionaire pie.
Speaker 10 (11:04):
Though.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
We're doing these cool throw them together, you know, in
their fridge pies. We've got a good one from my family. Next.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
All right, So Sam broke out his peanut butter pie.
It was really his dad's week, my dad's because it
was the topic of a conversation while your ex was
in labor.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Yeah, that was his situation of putting his foot in
his mouth because he kept talking about this peanut butter pie,
peanut butter pie, and she's in labor over here, and
it's like, okay, Dad, we got it. It's a good
peanut butter pie. Let's talk about it.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
After fast forward all these years. Thank you for that recipe.
It's at Murphy Salmonjody dot com. It looks really good
and interesting and easy. Peanut butter, cream cheese, cool with
chocolate crust and oh and I say chocolate drizzle.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
I thought you were going to bring it this week,
but TikTok, TikTok. Okay, it's not here yet. Wanted to
add one to this because cool pies rock a pie
that you just whip up together and stick it in
the refrigerator, especially with summer coming. My grandmother made one
when we were growing up called Millionaire pie. And I
say it like that because I would say, Mama, what's
(12:08):
that and she'd go, that's Millionaire pie. And I don't
really know, truthfully, I don't know, but I've heard if
you google that, you're going to find a million different
takes on this recipe. What I'm going to share with
you is the one she gave everybody in our family.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
Okay, I think it's called that because it's kind of decadent,
Sam and that's yeah, that's what it's considered.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
It gotcha all right, right. It's condensed milk, juice of
a lemon, a cup of pecans, a little, a can
of a small can of pineapple like crushed or chopped
if you want it more choppy coolip of course, and
one large gram cracker crust and we eat this every
Thanksgiving when we go to my cousin's house and she
(12:49):
makes a couple of.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Anything like that.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Now I haven't that's condensed milk makes sense? Super rich
it is. It is like it makes you feel like
a millionaire.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
Now the nuts getting the way a little bit to
me because it's like you have all this smooth creaminess
and then there's this random bacan that shows up.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
You know, somehow I knew you were going to bring
that up.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Something was wrong with it.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
It's a good pie, it is.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Anyway, we want to put it on our website for
you all stuff. You want to make some cool pies
this week end or this week Murphysam and Jody dot.
Speaker 5 (13:19):
Com coming out Hollywood.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
Yeah, Princeterry gets his best man and we're going to
get you ready for the NFL Draft kicking off tonight.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
All right, let's take it to the NFL Draft, which
is starting today at atm AT and T Stadium at Arlington.
This is where all the teams and franchises come together
for their picks for the next upcoming season. I don't
I don't know a lot about how it all works,
but I know today's the first round. Second round is tomorrow,
(13:53):
third round is Saturday.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Back in the day, they used to do like half
in one day at half in the next. But now
it's all the marquis up and the glitz and the
glamd They just do the first round because that's where
all the big names.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Are, right, So that's happening. Cleveland Brown's on the first
overall pick and expect to be a quarterback. Okay, And
there's something funny happening today. I think that you especially
will appreciate. Okay, guys, The seventy eighth pick, do you
know about this? For the draft is going to get
a ton of free pizza in the third round, which
is scheduled coming up. What I guess Saturday. The fourteenth
(14:27):
pick is considered the pie pick. Third round, fourteen, third round.
We'll do a little.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Math here for one.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
So whoever gets this pick gets a new job, you know,
gets their dreams come true and for themselves or maybe
their family. Maybe they'll spread it around free pizza for
a year from Pizza Hut.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Yeah, that's interesting, that's fun.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Okay. And by the way, right.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
Now, Pizza Hut is he now the official pizza of
the NFL since Papa John's is out.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
That's why they're doing this yesterday. And and by the way,
you can catch it all over the place tonight. If
you turn on any screen, you're going to be able
to find it and catch it.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Do you remember a first round is not a guarantee
of success, totally true. Six sixth round two thousand. Now
I picked one was mister Tom Brady, h Mary.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Just something to learn. Thank you Sam for that. Okay,
moving on, let's jump across the pond. We're planning this
royal wedding for Prince Harry and Megan Markle and William.
It's been announced will officially be his best man. I
think we knew that already, Yeah, because but I guess
it's officially announced Harry was William's best man. By the way,
six hundred guests have been invited to the ceremony in May.
(15:39):
One thousand members of the public are invited to spend
the day on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
But you just can't get in, but.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
Only two hundred people have been invited to the reception.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Gotcha.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
So being invited to the wedding does not mean you
get to party with the royals, all right? Coming up
in your next Hollywood Outsider this morning at seven fifty five,
what young pop star is going to star in her
own biopic?
Speaker 5 (16:03):
Murphy? Sam and Jody, you are a Hollywood e sider.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
All right, So thank you for waking up with us.
Love to hear from you. Eight seven seven three one
oh four msj Later this hour, see if you can.
Maybe you've got the idea in mind when I say this,
what year of marriage is the year where you think
it just like gets all better? You know what I mean?
Where like you've really hit your stride and it's it's going. Yeah, Sam,
I don't know how you want to answer that one
after three?
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Hey, I get there.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
Oh man, Okay.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Well there is one year, right, Jody, that is supposedly the.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Better years, an average mark where you hit well couple's
report feeling really happy. We'll get to that later this hour.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
Jody's good thing.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
I need some Okay you guys ready for this story?
I love it. It's a principal who did this This
week and his school. They're doing standardized testing at the
Community School for Apprenticeship Learning to middle school and there
are two hundred and seventy nine students who showed up
up the other morning to tests, and they were nervous,
(17:03):
little nerve.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
That kind of state it does.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
I mean, so there's a lot of things you can do.
And this principle had heard about writing each kid. How
powerful that would be writing each one of them a
personal note. And that's a lot of note, handwritten note,
it's a lot of notes. But he did it in
a very kind of special way.
Speaker 11 (17:24):
Instead of writing a note, you should write it on
the desk, all right before testing. And so I had
it in my mind, but I kept thinking to myself,
that's gonna take a really long time.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
He did it, though. He spent about ten hours in
the classrooms before taking a not sharpie what's that try
erase marker? Thank you my favorite marker in the world,
and he wrote on each desk a little personal note,
dear tyler, da da da believe in you, You've come
so far a couple of lines, and then he signed
his name signature at the bottom. There's nothing like that
(17:56):
written word in that wall. Boss It took him about
ten hours, but he feels like it was worth it.
Speaker 11 (18:04):
And so I try to build a relationship with them,
understand their uniqueness. And when I wrote those notes, I
wanted to acknowledge that about them first and then say
to them good luck this week.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
He's the prest and they won't ever they will not
ever forget that.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
And he's a much loved principle. And Lamont Cole is
his name.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Now did they wind up sending him to his own
office for defacing school property?
Speaker 1 (18:29):
I love that story. Coming up Sam's Got Music News.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Yeah, I gotta give you the rundown on who is
performing at the Royal Wedding next month?
Speaker 5 (18:39):
Sam's Got Music News next month?
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Of course, the Royal Wedding taking place in the UK.
And we've been hearing all along now building up to it.
And you know the Spice Girl is going to be performing,
Adam Elton is is Ed Sheeran going to be performing?
Speaker 5 (18:54):
You were just kids when we fid that.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
I believe.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
And he's pulling out the big guns because this is
the song he just you know, he's a big hit
right now. I would also for a wedding.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
I would love to see a surprise performance from Adele
what goosies?
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Well, has she been rumored to be there or not?
Speaker 3 (19:11):
No, that's just my heart's desire along with I can't
wait to everybody wants to see Megan in her wedding dress.
I want to see Harry in those utiful uniform.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Well, now I do have the scoop on the who
is definitely performing at the at the wedding itself, the ceremony,
A nineteen year old cellis Who's going to perform some
classical music? Nice Kingdom Choir. It's an orchestra musicians made
up from the BBC National Orchestra and also the English
Chamber Orchestra.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Now I know you're here and there or where's Elton?
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Well that's the ceremony, right.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Those are the people that would probably be in the
reception after, you know, for all the fun Okay, the
Ed Sheeran's and the Elton Johns and the Spice Girls,
because the Spice Girls on and off have been saying
that they're going to be there, but.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
You don't know that yet. You only know saradon.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
What's going to happen in the ceremony. But you know
that song would still be nice from and not in
the ceremony.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
No, they're not going to be even though they're pushing
the limits on tradition. You're not going to see them
do that in the church service.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Thank you, Okay, no, thanks.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
All right? Sorry? D Also, did you hear about the
new boy band documentary that's in the works by Alance
Bass is producing this one Fromand's Sync.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
A documentary about in sinc or just boy bands.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
In general, Lou Pearlman, the guy who put together in
Sync in the Backstreet Boys, and a couple of the
other groups. This is going to be a YouTube documentary YouTube.
Brad that he's actually funding it, producing it, and they're
going to have interviews with some of the guys in
the Backstreet Boys. I don't have any word and also
in Sync, but I don't have word on whether Justin's
taking part in this or he's gonna have comments. Justin's
(20:42):
mom is going to have comments on this.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Is that guy still alive that put the band together?
Speaker 4 (20:47):
No?
Speaker 2 (20:48):
He remember he had the prison term and then he
wound up passing away, so he's no longer with us. Lucier.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Probably a lot to know, and some of it may
be not very pretty Murphy Music News coming up next. Guys, Murphy,
you're gonna appreciate this. Tiffany has some help for you
at ordering it the drive through. Want to make our
lives easier when you got a bunch of orders. I
need it, Hey, Sam, I told you Murphy's getting better
(21:13):
at at ordering it to drive through. But he did
accidentally order a malt the other night instead of a shake.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
And wait a second, I ordered that on purpose. I
just didn't say it correctly. I wanted a chocolate malt,
but I referred to it as a chocolate malt shake,
and I confuse the person taking the order. Clearly there
are two different things.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
That's a real little struggle.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Here was this when you sent me the picture of
him ordering, I did ye. I don't know if you
knew this, Murphy, but she's she texted me a picture
of you leaning out the window. I wanted to talk
into the box and it says, here we go.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
I wanted to share that with you, Sam. Okay, so
that's funny. Eight seven seven three one zero four six
seven five. Tiffany might have some help. How are you good?
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Hey?
Speaker 12 (21:55):
I wanted to call because I let the boys fail
that I just I really wanted to just make sure
some and listened. But I had this brilliant idea last weekend. Yes,
we have three we have three teenage daughters, and of
course whenever we go to a fast food establishment drive through,
it is not so ridiculous. So in anticipation of that
(22:18):
on our recent road trips, before we even got off
the highway, I had my oldest daughter text me everybody's order.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Brilliant And it.
Speaker 12 (22:32):
Was amazing because when I pulled up to the drive through,
I was actually able to make it to have them
put them all the different orders in different bags.
Speaker 6 (22:42):
Yes, but it was amazing.
Speaker 12 (22:44):
I'm gonna do that for and ever like everybody, just
like my daughter texted me everybody, so she took everyone's order,
got everything down.
Speaker 9 (22:51):
It was perfect.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
That No duh, it's like, yeah, text me, it's not personal,
but text me what you want exactly, if you want exactly,
you know this burger with no pickle kind of a thing.
Speaker 12 (23:05):
Yes, And I put my oldest daughter in charge, but
she was really kind of cute because she was taking
order and making sure.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
That right right man, that is the game. That's the
name of the game. And then Murphy you can read
it straight from your phone. Hopefully that will be very helpful.
Thank you for sharing that and making our lives easier.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
That was perfect.
Speaker 12 (23:29):
Thank you, have a wonderful day.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
All right, Tiffany call us anytime.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
You just don't think about that because you know, you
get somebody sitting behind you. Why would they text you
for that? I love that idea. That is super organized.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
So you can read it. All right, Well, we'll have
to hit the drive through again sometime. Not tonight, I
mean not like not multiple nights in a row.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Let's try this every night till we get it right.
Speaker 5 (23:52):
Coming up next with Murphy's Sam and Jody.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Guys, So, at what year of marriage do couples report
feeling happier and more content? We do still want to
hear about those special things that you've seen at weddings
or you've done at your own wedding that was just
different and unexpected. We're always loving to hear from those
hear about those. But speaking of weddings, at what year
(24:18):
of marriage is a new study do couples report feeling
happy and content?
Speaker 4 (24:24):
Like?
Speaker 3 (24:24):
How long do you got to stick it out before
you're like okay.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Well, this is going to be an interesting answer for us,
because Jody and I are married, and Sander's had a
couple of marriages, So who should go first on the guest?
Speaker 4 (24:34):
Right?
Speaker 3 (24:35):
You want to guess? Guys, I've got the I know
I'm looking at the fome.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
I know you're looking at Yeah, I mean, I would
like to take a guest. You see, I mean, Jody,
you and I have been married for eighteen years, right
about actually nineteen, it'll be nineteen this year. I would
say it's probably like year six or seven.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
There are the tough years. Are those oh oh, power struggles?
That was that's tough. That's actually not the correct answer.
You're going to just go for around ten or you're
going for around ten years? Okay, neither one of you?
How long were you married each time? Sam?
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Which one? Either one any of them?
Speaker 1 (25:10):
Bi one of random?
Speaker 2 (25:11):
First one was ten years, then it was I think
six years, and then it was two years, Okay, three years.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Couples who stay married from for like eighteen to twenty
years feel happier than even newlyweds. Gotcha happier than even newlyweds?
Speaker 1 (25:29):
You know, I was, I guess I was hoping that
it would be a shorter time here but I get
what you're saying there. Yeah, because I know, Joda, you
and I kind of had an interesting little patro on
that seven or eight year mark.
Speaker 13 (25:37):
Two.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Yeah, you got the kids growing up. I mean it's
like craziness. Kids are a little bitty and where you know,
you're trying to figure out. Yeah, and so you get
a groove. It just takes two decades to get there.
Speaker 3 (25:49):
I know. But the deal is, things stabilize and I
feel like you just get comfortable if you are still
together at that point. There's a reason you fought. You
fought much, he fought four things. Yeah, so that makes
me happy, you know, to know that man just should
be happy from now on out.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Well, and you know, yeah, and I do. I mean,
I absolutely feel that way about you obviously.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
You know.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
I would also think that maybe after somebody's gone through
a long relationship and Jeff for example, in Sam's case,
I mean, once you also know what you want and
you've had the life experience, maybe it doesn't take that
long in that next relationship when you find the right person.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Yeah, I would think, as you're more mature and you've
done it before, and yeah, exactly know yourself.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
It's all about knowing yourself.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
The next time, I don't have to go as long
and I'll you should not have to, Sam, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
You don't have to have your site set on nineteen
years and going. This is going to work out. Great
sit down, This is.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Gonna be a while.
Speaker 5 (26:41):
Coming up next with Murphy Salmon, Joe like speaking of it.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Shannon just got married recently and wants to tell us
about the very special, unique thing they did in their ceremony.
Coming to you next, Shannon. We love hearing from you.
Give us a call any time. Eight seven seven three
one zero four MS J.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
What's going on, tuning?
Speaker 10 (27:02):
No, I was just trying to tell you something unique
that I did at my wedding. We just got married
this past September, and instead of having a unity ceremony,
we actually did a love letter ceremony. And how that
works is we purchased this whole kit that you can
get online, and they provide you with paper and you
write a love letter to each other before the wedding,
(27:22):
and during the ceremony, you put the letters in the
box there's a bottle of wine and some wineglasses, and
don't read the letters before the ceremony and the idea
is to either when you reach a milestone in your
in your marriage with us five years, ten years, or
if you go through some troubled time in that box
and you read the letters that brought you to that day.
(27:43):
I think it was really really a special social moment
for our wedding, and our guests just raised about it.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
And Okay, so the ceremony. At the ceremony, you put
the love letters in the box in front of everyone
and everything else.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
In yes, and kind of seal it.
Speaker 10 (27:58):
Up keys yep, and you lock you lock it up
and you don't and you make avowed of each other
not to open it until you either reach a milestone
in your marriage or ye.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
So that being sad, I know you were married in September.
Have you did you have to go into it yet?
Speaker 10 (28:15):
Nope, we haven't opened it yet other than us wanting
to just have a drink because there's you know, there's in.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
There that's cool, Shannon, I had not heard of that.
You just found it online.
Speaker 10 (28:26):
Yeah, I found it online, and I mean the whole
kid comes in this beautiful mahogany box that is engraved
and the engraved wineglasses, and it's the wine glasses say
I do, and the other one says I do too,
And provide your own bottle of alcohol and put it
in the box and steal it up on your wedding day.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
Cool. Where do you keep your box?
Speaker 10 (28:46):
We actually have it up on a shelf close to
our mantle.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
Easy access in case of emergency.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Exactly, love letter box, love it. That's a good one.
Thank you, Shammon, no.
Speaker 10 (28:56):
Problem, love you guys this show. Have a good day.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
Thank you you too.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
I mean that's a new one. Jody, You and I
probably could have done that if we'd have thought about it.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
Might have opened it already. And that makes me kind
of sad. You might have had one of them.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
Yeah, I do, like, wait, what would the milestone have been?
That would have really? Why would we have.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
I don't think she's talking milestone. I think she's talking.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
EQ early earlier on.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Struggles to the happiness that we actually do have.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
My mom told me that when we have struggles that
we should go back and watch the video of our
wedding day because we are a vows.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
It was a sweet moment.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
Yeah, she did look good.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
Mom.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
Advice there give us a call anytime eight seven seven
three one zero for ms.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
J coming out, Holly, You're going to tell you.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
What young pop star? And you do know her voice?
For sure? Is start going to start her own biopick.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
It's so funny to me when someone brings the world
a bio pick really early on in their career. But
how else maybe you are you going to know of
the hottest pop stars today? And I love her voice.
I don't know much about her until I read this article.
Halsey is going to star in her own biopic. I
(30:13):
like her voice.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
I don't know anything about her.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
Okay, well here you go. Here's a little bit that
I know. They're calling it the female version of eight Mile.
Remember eight Mile, when Eminem acted his own story of
growing up? You know, well, this is it. And she's
only twenty three years old. Eminem was thirty when he
made eight Mile. That helps you a little bit. She
grew up in New Jersey. She calls herself a messed
(30:36):
up stoner kid who made it somehow. She moved to
New York she was living. She gave herself her name
based on the Halsey train station where she lived near
this apartment basement that she lived in with a bunch
of she says, degenerate stoners. She had it rough a
little bit. She's she told Rolling Stone a story about
staying one night with all these people around her, and
(30:58):
this is the only place she had to stay, and
she ran a bunch of red bulls just to stay
awake so that she wouldn't fall asleep, like she was
too scared of where she was and fall asleep. Apparently
she's got a lot to tell, and when producers brought
it to her, how about your life story, She's the
only one that feels like she could do it. So
she's young enough to play the young Halsey, right yeah,
(31:19):
And she co directs a lot of her music videos.
And by the way, this wouldn't be her first time
on big screen. On the screen, Bradley Cooper cast her
in a minor role in that upcoming A Star is
Born movie that he's doing with Lady Gaga, So it
might be in fact, this might be something that brings
her to that next level where we all do know
something about Halsey. So that is in production. Now, Halsey's
(31:43):
going to star in her own bio pic. I do
like that voice, and I didn't know her story was
so rough.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
I guess she's got the soundtrack cover.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
Ooh, totally Okay, remember that movie we had a couple
of weeks ago that blew up the box office for
a little while. Anyway, A scary movie starring.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
John Crazin's what's her name?
Speaker 3 (32:02):
Emily Blunt? Thank you a quiet place?
Speaker 7 (32:06):
Who are who?
Speaker 13 (32:07):
You?
Speaker 5 (32:07):
Protect them?
Speaker 8 (32:09):
We have to protect them.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
Can't make a noise if something's gonna get you. Yeah,
it did really well. Audiences love it, and so a
sequel is already in the works. Coming up in your
next Hollywood Outsider this morning around eight thirty, gonna get
you ready for tonight's NFL draft and tell you why
the seventy eighth pick might be the luckiest man there.
Speaker 7 (32:30):
Up to date with Shodie's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
Got some exciting things I'm excited about on the website
for you this week. Like Sam's dad's peanut butter pie recipe.
I want to make it. I think I'm gonna make
it for Murphy.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
My grandmother's millionaire pie recipe always good. We have it
every Thanksgiving. That one is good.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
If you don't like pecans, I suppose you could leave
them out, Although it's kind of a key part of
the recipe.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
I think it's kind of important a millionaire pe.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
Yeah, you could also something else. I picked up this
week that it's a memoir I can't put down in
the not So Serious book club. So get it all
at Murphy Sam and Jody dot com.
Speaker 5 (33:10):
Sam always fines the new eats. Geez the food.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
I have told you about the my Oreo creation contest
that the Oreo had put together looking for everybody's ideas
on what to put in in Oreo flavors of Oreo.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
Oh gosh, we actually I don't remember that. So you
actually you could submit your request and it would be
for the cream, the cookie or both either one.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
You could be combinations of different cookies and the cream inside.
And it's kind of like the Lay's contest they had
where they come up with their finalists and then we
get to try them and vote on them.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
This is the trend in food production.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
I still think that Jody should have won the Lays
one years ago, totally.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Scale it case. Well, the Oreo one is now. Well,
they've got their finalists, so you can actually go to
the stores. If you find these bags, you can buy
them and taste them and check them out and vote
on them.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
What are they?
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Cherry cola Oreo. The cream is cherry cola. The other
one is kettle corn Oreo.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Oh no, that might be a little No.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Sounds a little sweet. I can't deal h And the
third one is peanut Colada Oreo. Now, of course no alcohol,
and it's peanut Colta flavor.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
That sounds happy.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
That's probably gonna tell it tastes more like a coat.
It probably a coconut overton than pineapple.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
I already had the coconut ones. They're amazed.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Yeah, like eating it's like eating a crunchy mound.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
Yeah. So anyway, they have it up on the Oreo
website right now if you want to go on there
and vote for your favor, and after you try them.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
No matter what they do, they're not going to top
the Oreo cookie flavor, the original. I'm sorry to be
such a purist, but that is golden.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
Yeah. But man, those lemon ones are tough. I mean
some of the basics stick out. The lemon ones are
tough to resist.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
The red velvet ones too, man.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
I like the golden Manila, I like the mint. Should
we go on?
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Why don't you just tell us the ones you a
doun't like.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
Our hearts are all beating really fast right now, coming up.
Speaker 5 (34:56):
You're a Hollywood.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
And in case you missed this earlier, Jody's Good Thing
was such a good story this morning we wanted to
share it again.
Speaker 13 (35:05):
Good news Jody's good Thing, right, guys, before we get
to this principle at this school and what he did
for two hundred and seventy nine of his students this week,
Like every single one, it goes back to basics of
letting people know you are pulling for them, but the
(35:26):
way you do it, and that's a personal note, right
you know?
Speaker 3 (35:30):
I got a personal note in the mail this week
from my friend Christy and number one, I never realized
how gorgeous her handwriting was. I cannot wait to tell
her that in person. Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
Sure she didn't have somebody write this for well, that's
a question.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
Because she's a CEO of an organization. She had me
come speak to a bunch of young girls. He's a
wonderful experience all around from me for everybody. And then
I'm sitting here thinking I've got it on my stupid list,
Jody Wright, thank you notes, and she beat me to it,
and I got a note from her and it made
me feel great, and I stuck it like up on
(36:03):
this little cabinet so I can just see it. In
other words, it meant so much to me to get
that that I put it on display.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
But there's a personal connection that comes from a handwritten
letter like nothing else. You were so right.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
That was what I was telling the girls at this conference.
I was like, write a thank you note somebody. If
there's somebody you really want to impress in business that
you've met, send them a personal thank you note after
meeting them or they do something for you. Because your
handwriting is just as special as your voice or your fingerprints.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
Well, it also shows that you took time to do
it rather than just crank it out, you know, text
or type, and.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
It meant something to you, right exactly. Okay, So there's
a principle at this school. It's a community school for
apprenticeship learning. It's a middle school, and the two hundred
and seventy nine students there were taking standardized tests this
week and their principal, who's a favorite, he's like a
father to a lot of these kids. And here's why
he really cares about them. He decided to write notes
(36:56):
to them, but not just just handwritten on paper.
Speaker 11 (36:59):
Instead of writing the note, you should write it on
the desk all right before testing. And so I had
it in my mind, but I kept thinking to myself,
that's gonna take a really long time.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
Yeah, and it did. It took him about ten hours,
but he wrote them all dear Tyler, dear Sandra whatever,
a couple of lines, and then signed his name.
Speaker 11 (37:19):
And so I try to build a relationship with them,
understand their uniqueness. And when I wrote those notes, I
wanted to acknowledge that about them first and then say
to them good.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
Luck this week. Yep.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
And you know what, that will last them a lifetime.
Teachers that took the time to do that. For me,
I've never forgotten that, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
Because they show you that they care first.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Yeah, and their words have really affected and inspired me
my entire life.
Speaker 3 (37:42):
So let's kind of salute him today, Principal Lamont Cole.
Speaker 5 (37:45):
News Jody's good thing.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
Allright, coming up, guys, let's do the Hollywood Outsider are
going to tell you why the seventy eighth pick today
in the NFL draft might be the luckiest man on the.
Speaker 5 (37:54):
Field Judy's Hollywood outside.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
So the twenty eighteen and NFL Draft is kicking off
today and huh okay, so we all know that it's exciting,
especially the first picks right are exciting. Right, there are
three rounds. I know that. I also know that well
thanks to hanging around you, Sam. It doesn't matter what
number you're picked at, as long as you're picked right,
because you can become Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
Yeah, and you can think I should have been higher,
and you get in there and improve it.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
Right. It's it's not the ones that are the duds,
it's right. It's the work that you do after being picked.
Big motto for life. The seventy eighth pick in the
draft is going to get a lot of free pizza
because the seventy eighth pick will be on the third round,
fourteenth pick considered the pie pick three point one four, right,
three point one four, and that person that player will
(38:45):
get a lifetime supply of free I'm sorry, a year's supply,
oh okay, a free pizza from Pizza Hut. Hopefully share
it with their family. Look for the NFL Draft everywhere
tonight as it kicks off online and on several networks
up to date.
Speaker 7 (39:01):
With sodi's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 4 (39:06):
Jody.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
You know, at the beginning of every month, you always
talk about what's new on Netflix, what's new and coming
to Netflix?
Speaker 3 (39:11):
Check it out.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
I got sent a list yesterday. I thought this was
kind of weird. The things that are not going to
be there next month, the things that are going away. Yeah,
and there are a few on the list. Well one
of them. When you and I were scanning through the
other night, I was like, oh god, that was a
cool movie. And it's Ocean's eleven is going Away. It's
been on Netflix for a few months now. It's going away, But.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Oh no, I don't I need to watch it then.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
But the when I when I got the email about
what was going away, it had a picture of Henry
and Karen Goodfellas is going Away. It's been on Netflix
for a Yeah, it's been on Netflix for a couple
of months. But I guess I like it. And that's
a classic, man. I mean, I know it's an older movie, but.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Why, dear Netflix, why you watched it? Yeah, we have months,
but why so fast? Meanwhile, there's a bunch of stuff
up there that nobody even knows.
Speaker 1 (40:05):
I mean, maybe they rotate the classics like that, you
know what I mean. The movie did come out in
nineteen ninety one, Jody, it's been a while.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
Yeah, I just love knowing that there.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
It'll be back out later this year.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
It's an iconic picture of Henry and Karen when they're
out in front of her house and he's just had
an issue with the guy across the street.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
That's a moment. Yeah, it loved him right then and there,
and so did I.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
So sorry it's leaving Netflix next month.
Speaker 5 (40:29):
Coming up next with Murphy, Sam and Jody.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
All Right, the book that I picked up at the
library this week and can't put down, and you might
want to read it too, that's next, you know. So
I'm watching This is Us on Hulu as fast as
I bet. Oh my gosh. I did not like the
episode that I watched last night, the ending of it,
the pieces of it, just where Jack and Rebecca were
(40:53):
having problems and he's struggling with his question.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Episode last night. I don't remember.
Speaker 2 (40:57):
How did I miss that?
Speaker 3 (40:58):
I say that fifteen Yeah, Murvy got home.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
You didn't get a chance to walk in and say
what's going on?
Speaker 3 (41:03):
Right? Mandy Moore's in this show. Anyway, I'm reading. I
picked up the book by Christy Mettz. Christy Metts is
the actress who plays Kate Toby Keith.
Speaker 5 (41:19):
So do you want to be fat?
Speaker 4 (41:20):
Friends?
Speaker 3 (41:20):
I can't fall for a fat person right now. She's
so fabulous I am. I mean, she's just inspiring to me.
And I think she's one of these characters that everything
that she does in the show I just totally feel.
And then we learned I learned through being whatever doing
Hollywood outside of reports that she had eighty one cents
in her bank account when she got the job to
be on the show. So I thought, I'm interested in
(41:41):
this woman. Well, I'm walking through the library the other
day and what There's a book she just put it
out calls called This is Me Loving the Person You
Are Today. And that's you know, it sounds kind of,
you know, serious or whatever. It's not. It's funny, but
it is deep. And I started reading it. I checked
it out, y'all. It's really good and she did just
(42:02):
start discussing, you know, her early issues with food being
her comfort and things like that, and so it's just
beautiful and I'm enjoying it. So we put it up
on the Necessarius Book Club if you want to check
it out. And of course, because I watch her on
the show, when I read it, i hear her voice.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
