Speaker 1 (00:03):
Very excited that, Yeah, you've made it to the middle
of the week. We all have made it to the
middle of the week. Yes, I had a good time
last night with our oldest daughter Taylor and Sam. I
don't know if you know you knew this or not,
but the girls, you know, they have a ton of
extracurricular activities, and of course none of them are ever
in the same place at the same time.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Mostly they're in the same place, I mean at the
same time in different sides of rime. That's how it works.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Yep. So Jody had Phoebe and I had Taylor with me,
and I love my time with really with both girls.
But Taylor and I have some great conversations, and we
went up in a really long conversation because I was
in a drive through line at the pharmacy.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
It wasn't a fun kind of ride through line.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Sah, it wasn't for fast food, but it was I
thought about Jody because Taylor paid me a wonderful compliment,
and I'm not sure that Jody would have, you know,
done the same, or she might have made fun because
when we got to the window, well, I mean this,
you know, this.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Pharma given to the sweet love to the pharmacy girls.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
The three pharmacists. I mean, they're really so nice to me.
It's a pleasure for me to pull up and get
my order and give my day to birth. Yeah, because
because they're nice.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
And so one of them, Jan was the one who
was at the window last night and it was just
so cool. I was, you know, saying how she was
excited to see me in this and the other and
Taylor said, Daddy, they were always so nice and so
sweet to you. I'm like, yes, they are.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
And the reason that they are is because Murphy turns
it on for them, turning it on, you know what
I mean. Thank you for people that know Murphy, well,
they know exactly what we're talking about. You know, he
can be fussing on the way in and as soon
as that door, may I help you?
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Oh how you doing warm? I mean like turns on
the warm, which is cool. Well, he's so serious and
severe at the pharmacy that I went once to pick
up something for you and they were like, that's your husband. Oh,
he's the sweetest. He's got a reputation. Yes he is sweet.
I know he never.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
I feel like I know they get their share of
people who are very difficult customers. Right, I've actually heard
it in front of me before, so yeah, I mean
to me, that is a tough job. It's back to back,
and so if I can bring a little relief in
the movie, seems like.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
It would be a little thankless at times and just
not never ending.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
The lady at my pharmacy drive through actually helps me
out because she always says have a blessed day at
the end. And the same lady I saw see whenever
she's coming, it's like she's gonna do it again. Yeah,
And so sure enough she'll do it at the end
when I'm done, and it's like, right, you know what,
you two, it's just a nice send off.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
And you got to turn around and turn on the
Murphy warmth and maybe you'll get even more love at
the pharmacy. Is that a new hair do you?
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Guys?
Speaker 2 (02:40):
It works coming up with Murphy's Salmon Jody at the
eighty twenty Diet, which may be based on the eighty
twenty rule Murphy. So you'll like this and your first
Hollywood Outsider of the Morning, the New Sex and the
City book.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider by guys, A lot of Ladies in
the World identify with four ladies from Sex and the City.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
I loved that show. I felt like I knew those
women and I could tell you towards the end. I
cried on Sunday Nights on HBO.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Oh E didn't cricause the third movie was bad or
the second movie was.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
The second movie was bad. I remember leaving when I
felt cheated. I can't believe they made that movie. But
the first one is still one of the best rom
coms ever. The first Sex in the City movie.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
I actually got pulled into it and enjoyed the series.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
You know, this first started in nineteen ninety seven when
the book Candice Bushnell's book, and then Darren Starr wanted
to make it and he said he was reading it
the script and thought he wanted to approach Sarah Jessica
Parker because he really felt that she was Carrie right.
And I say, all this, all this stuff is coming
out because there's a new book out called Sex in
(03:44):
the City and Us. It's a book about how this
show came about and how everybody got cast and just
behind the scenes stuff. So what a great gift. Yeah,
for anybody who's kind of a fanatic. It's stuff they
don't know. One of them is that Sarah Jessica Parker
was so unsure about it. She had to be convinced
by her husband, Matthew Broderick, you need to do this,
because she didn't want to be tied down to a
(04:04):
TV show. She wanted to do a movie and then
go rest for a month and then go do Broadway
and then have more freedom. So when you sign on
the dotted line for a television series, you are in
the same studio every day for a while for a
long time. Yeah, especially if it does well and gets
picked up things like that, isn't that crazy? Cynthia Nixon,
(04:25):
the girl who plays Miranda, who played Miranda so famously,
she was also a mad theater person and she was
doing two and three shows at one time, which was
almost unheard of at that time. And when they got her,
they were like, one thing, though, can you dye your hair?
Because she's actually naturally blonde and very fair skin. But
(04:47):
they had two blonds already, a Brunette and Charlotte, and
they were like, we really want a redhead. You seem
like the most natural, like it would happen and look
that way. She does look good. Yeah, I believe it,
but he's naturally blonde. And other behind the scenes stories
from this book is that Kim Cattrall, who famously played
Samantha the Sultry Samantha, did not want to do it
(05:09):
either because she wanted to be taken more seriously and
not only do outlandish rolls like that.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
She's also the one that doesn't want to come back.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
No, and she's not coming back anyway. The book is
called Sex in the City and Us. It is new
and available now.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Up to date Sodie's Hollywood out sign.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
I always love to hear from you eight seven seven
three one zero four Msj's the number.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Who do we have coming up?
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Bailey?
Speaker 6 (05:31):
We got Lisa on the phone and she's calling about
a teacher gift that you can.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Give for aay teacher Appreciation day leading up to Mother's Day.
We're making it sort of teacher appreciation Week around here
with cool ideas including our mix recipe at Murphy Samonjovie
dot com.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
That's right. Love to hear from you at eight seven
seven three one zero four MSJ.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
What's going on?
Speaker 7 (05:54):
I hate Lisa. I always Facebook you guys. I'm the
one who sold Bailey. He needs to put a man
on it.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Awesome, awesome, definitely needs to do it.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Man.
Speaker 7 (06:03):
But I just want to let you know about teacher's gifts.
I am, you know, absolutely for the teachers. I am
not at your but I so believe in helping them
out in any way. Yes, so I believe in totally
gifting them. I always make a whole bunch of different
kinds of hands and cookies, and so I give them
homemade up and also a nice gift. And then I
asked them about here, you know, what do you like,
what's your favorite color?
Speaker 2 (06:24):
What do you like?
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Me?
Speaker 7 (06:25):
For my daughter's teacher, she's getting a mug. You know,
one of those thermal mugs that really keep it hot
or cold, like a Yetti mug.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Oh yeah serious, two days that's better.
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Yeah, So I'll get that. But you can get it
at Walmart for like seven something. But it really does
the job. It's it's in a hunting section, that's a
sports section. And so I'm having her initials put on
the mug and we're putting her name on the beach
towel so she'll have her Yetti mug. What's a bee cowl?
And it all has her initials a name on it,
and I think she'll.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Like it all out.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
That's right. If any of that gets stolen, at least
she knows it's hers.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Always the bright side. Yeah, well, thank you, Lisa, good ideas.
Speaker 7 (07:07):
Oh you're welcome, and I just love you guys. You
guys are like so loesome.
Speaker 8 (07:11):
You are my drive to work you every.
Speaker 7 (07:13):
Morning and I always go on your Facebook.
Speaker 8 (07:15):
You guys, thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
I'm so glad you're there reach out in these time.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Okay, appreciate, we appreciate the call.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Eight seven seven three one zero four ms J all
those good summary ideas. It's kind of like saying, hey,
enjoy your summer, throwing a gift card in your set. Yep.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Yeah, Sam has music news.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
That's some big news if you're a Phil Collins fan,
and I'm going to tell you why. He is out
to prove that he's not dead yet.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Sam's got music news.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
Great news for you Phil Collins fans.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
This is Murphy. Murphy wants this and I've been waiting
for this too for a long time. Okay, dude, you
can go together our first of you.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
Hey, Phil Collins is going to be touring the US
for the first time in twelve years.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
I would love to see him. It's funny there was
a time period that he was so exposed in music.
It's something I didn't want to see him because've always
loved Genesis and all that, but you know what I mean,
it was a.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Time when you were younger and you had to like
something that was endy. You couldn't like something so mainstream.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Actually, now I haven't a better appreciation for him. Absolutely,
I want to see him.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
When I hear the.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Calling song now it's like, oh wow, because I was
kind of like in the same boat as you, Murphy.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
It just got okay, another Phil Collins, another thing ran
and how good he is?
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yeah drummer, I mean, great drummer and you know, a
great songwriter, great producer, vocals. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
And if you read his book Not Dead Yet, which
is the name of the tour, you read it, right, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
Great insight into the old days and how he got
into business and then about all his uh single years,
you know, single and with Genesis.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Yeah, really good. I know he wrote a lot of
about his a lot about his pain.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
Yeah right, And this is called the tour is called
No Dead Not Dead Yet, prove to everybody hah. He's
not dead yet. He's popped up here and they are
doing a couple of gigs. But now this is unfortunately,
it's only fifteen days and.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
It's going to be in October.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
Yes, yeah, yeah, And his son is going to be
playing drums again. His son is in the band because
you know, Phil does have these physical issue issues with
his hands and stuff. He'll do what he can, but
he lets his son handle all the drumming because his
son toured with him for years.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
I'm still there for the.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
Vocals that ticks off October the fifth, by the way,
and Fort Lauderdale tickets will be on sale this week. Also,
Carrie Underwood coming back to American Idol. She is going
to be this Sunday. She's going to be the mentor
and she's going to perform her current song cry Pretty
you Can Huge.
Speaker 9 (09:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
The last five contestants on Idol are making the trip
to Nashville to work with Carry this week, and you
know they give her all that Sunday you get to
see her giving on advice and prus plus performing the
new song.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
I mean, I remember the day that she debuted and
they were you know, she was still on the farm.
And they her backstory, and Simon was like, it's like
this girl next door.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Yeah, she just didn't Yeah I didn't. Simon say, like
at the beginning, he said, you could be one of
the biggest selling artists of any genre and win this show.
He said it early on, So smug that'll be on
American Idol this Sunday, Murphy.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Simon Joy Music News.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
He say, you guys know about the eighty twenty rule.
If you don't, Murphy's got you down for that next.
But there's an eighty twenty diet. Now could this be
the one for you? Hi, Murphy? What's the eighty twenty rule?
And it was like a management thing for you strap
yourself in. So yes, let me get the popcorn. It's
it's pretty soon. Everybody's heard of it.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
What it's called the it's called the Parido principle because
of the guy that created.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
A Dono principle.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Yeah, it's it's basically the law of what they call
vitally small things. In other words, eighty percent of the
results of something or effects come from twenty percent of
the causes. Gotcha all right then? And it's what's freaky
about it? If you've ever read about it. It almost applies
to everything. Wait, you know eighty percent of your tournament
money comes from twenty percent of what you save.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
You know, Oh, I thought I thought it was what
do you mean I thought it was something else?
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Yeah, I mean eighty percent of how you know, of
what you spend your time on are probably usually the
twenty percent. Well, if you focus twenty percent of your time,
I'm sorry, it's confusing.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
No, eighty percent of the results come from twenty percent
of your efforts. So that means if you focus on
a list of ten things, they're probably you know, two
of those things that are really the most important that
if you do those two, it'll produce eighty percent of
the results. Does that make sense?
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Yes? It does?
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Now, Yeah, are the two names you gave it? Parito
principles for the guy's named Parita.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
I don't remember the dude's first name called the eighty
twenty rule, because who can remember a name like that?
But I will say this, there was a new eighty
twenty diets that a lot of people are doing, and
basically it's not at all the management thing. You eat
eighty percent whole foods, eighty percent good clean, and then
twenty percent splurgy, and it's working for a lot of
(12:02):
people to kind of do that way. It's sustainable, It
doesn't limit your social life. You can go to a wedding,
you know, one day in a month and eat cake
if you ate really good stuff. And I believe that
concept because I know that concept is true. It's what
you do most of the time.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
Yeah, for you know, as somebody spent on the preto principle,
that makes sense to me.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
You know, if one hundred percent of your diet is junk,
you're going to create a problem. But if it's twenty percent.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Right, you can get away with twenty percent junk. If
you do, she'll get.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Eight percent of the benefit of eating across the board good.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Food and the cons of it. If people easily overestimate
twenty percent go, yeah, I know they do, and twenty
percent good well.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Yeah, it's like your protein is supposed to be the
size of your fist. I can't tell you how many
fists I want to beating.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Coming out Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Oh my goodness, Taylor Swift kicked off her kicked off
her reputation toil last night, and she did not disappoint.
We have some of the big moments for you.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
Next Joni's Hollywood Outside.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
I knew it would be all over this this morning,
and rightly so so. Taylor Swift's Reputation tour kicked off
last night in Glendelle, Arizona. That's right. She did twenty
four songs, every single song from the album Reputation, And
do you know I saw her for nineteen eighty nine
and I think she did every single song from that
album too. At songs, it is a lot of songs,
(13:27):
and she's been rehearsing like crazy, and according to social
media and those who were there, she had she's upped
her game, if that's even possible. So she started with
ready for It, and every single song on this list,
I know, you know, Reputation, and then all the big,
big big ones that you want to hear from every
(13:48):
single album. Here's another thing, that's twenty four from Taylor
remembers she had opening acts Camilla Cabello and Charlie XCX,
and that they started the show at around seven pm,
well before the sixty thousand people had poured in to
see Taylor. Because when you go to a concert, you
senior dinner and all that kind of stuff. Not for
(14:09):
this show. The opening acts started at seven and so
oh and by the way, her boyfriend Joe Alwin was
there and during the song Gorgeous ski she wrote about him,
she drove the crowd wild because she pointed right to him.
Of course, the huge screens showed him there. Yeah, you're gorgeous.
(14:32):
I mean, the crowd went nuts for that. There was
also a huge this is one of the coolest things.
There was also a huge snake as part of the
stage prop that came out during Look What You Made
Me Do?
Speaker 4 (14:46):
The snake part of the theme that she's had for
this album in the videos.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
She someone called her a snake a long time ago
on social media, remember, and she addressed that in a
speech also about hey, when somebody bullies you on social media,
it doesn't have to hurt you. It can strengthen you.
And she said that kind of thing, you know. Throughout
the night, but during the look What You Made Me
Do song, comedian Tiffany Hattish made an appearance. Big screens here.
Speaker 9 (15:12):
Okay, why oh, because she's.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
From last night? Yeah, so much fun. Crowds are loving
it and you know she changes up like Joe will
not be at every show. Oh yeah, I was Opening Night,
other big things and big people probably will pump up
up to date.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
With Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
You know, if there's anything you ever miss, you can
always catch it on the Nervy Sam and Jody podcast.
It's free to subscribe to you you can download listen
to it every single day, and we do something called
after the show. It's a brand new episode, something that
made Jody smile. I think it made her whole week
even more than something that could have happened on Mother's Day.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Probably I got Mother's Day early from our teenager Taylor.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
That was in yesterday's podcast. Anyway, we look forward to
you hanging out with us after the show today.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Yesterday some big food news number one, the food Dude
saying you can get fresh cook burgers at McDonald's now
for quarter pounders.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
And then Murphy, you did that yesterday.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Murphy, you let us know that that's the new law
now too, that all the fast food boards have to
have on the calorie count on there.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Yeah, starting this past money. Of course, most restaurants were
already doing it, but if you have twenty stores or more,
by law, the calories have to be displayed a lot.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
It adds a lot of writing to those doors, doesn't.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
Both of those got me thinking yesterday afternoon though, and
today's quarter pounder day? Okay, And so I went and
sure enough the McDonald's that I go to, actually they
have the new fresh quarter pounders. In fact, it was
even on the box like you know, cooked fresh when
you order it.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Well, wait, so you had to order that especially, No,
I just ordered it just happened order it like, because the.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
Quarter pounders and those new signature quarter pounders they do
are fresh cook They're not frozen beef.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Okay, so they their thing is they cook it as
soon as you order it. Now, did it taste front it?
Did it tastes? It tasted juicier? Okay, so still like
a McDonald's burger?
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Well well yeah, it still had the McDonald because everything
else is the same. And it tasted like McDonald's burger.
But when I bit into it, it's like, wow, this
is juicier. I wonder if this is what it this
is supposed to be.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Yeah, of course, I'm sure that is what it's supposed
to be to me.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
So you have to keep this simple for me. You
didn't have to specify fresh meat when you ordered that
team that.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
Way, if I would like fresh meat at all, then
no for quarter pounders only. I mean, if you just
order a quarter pounder, they're gonna give you the fresh
cook burger, the quarter pounder and their signature quarter pounders.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Okay, because in the food Dude yesterday, you were talking
about the bell that goes off letting them know. Yeah, right,
that doesn't make sense to me. If it's only going
to be you know, if the automatic, then why have a.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
Bell to let them know, hey, put the fresh meat on,
not the other meat. I don't know that either. It's
just if you order a quarter pounder, it's going to
be fresh meat. So if you see on the screen
quarter pounder, I.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Guess my question is this is it only for that burger?
If I go in to order a cheeseburger today, is
it fresh or is it frozen cheese? The regular? It's
always been okay, quarter only, so it's starting slow. Yeah, Well, thanks.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
For sticking it out there, Sam and sampling it for
us taking and.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
You know what I remember from the menu board and calories.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Nothing coming up with Murphy's Sam.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Are we going to continue to celebrate teachers this week?
Teacher Appreciation Plus it's that time of the year. They're
wrapping up the school year. Think of all the things
they've done for your child. Your email, Anthon and our
producer's mail bag on the way and Becky from eight
seven seven three one zero for ms J. Love hearing
from you. Give us a call anytime. Eight seven seven
(18:38):
three one zero for ms J. Hello Becky.
Speaker 8 (18:43):
I'll listen to y'all every morning on the way to work.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Thanks you. What are you doing this morning?
Speaker 8 (18:47):
I'm on my way to work.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
What are you?
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Oh you're a teacher, Yes, pre d teacher, Oh, pre
k And I'm.
Speaker 8 (18:56):
Gonna tell you. Music is a big part of our life.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Yes, what music do you play for?
Speaker 8 (19:00):
Yes, doctor Jeane. We do some of the old songs.
Like their big thing was booty. Oh he said food.
I'm like, there's nothing wrong with booty. I played shake, shake.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Your boot there's nothing wrong with booty. That's right, that's
Sam's motto.
Speaker 8 (19:18):
That's right. I told them it's just another word for bottom.
And then we played the song. And that's not a
big deal anymore.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
You're saying, you're teaching them some of the old songs. See,
when my kids were little, my mom used to do
that she would teach them songs that she taught me
when I was little, and I completely forgot all about
you know, like I see the moon and the moon
sees me. Yeah, all those old songs, and it's like,
you know what, they need to remember.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Those too, Becky. It sounds like you are meant to
be a pre K teacher, and there are some people
who are just meant for it. I believe it.
Speaker 8 (19:47):
I think it was my colleague.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
When you run into these parents later, do the kids
remember you?
Speaker 8 (19:53):
Oh, yes, it's I've got because I'm still the same
school kidza and pre kor first and seconds, and they
still come and see me, and I see him like
it's real funny when you see him at Walmart or
the mall or right, like wow, they.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Look at you like you have a third eyeball. You're
a real person.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Yeah right right.
Speaker 8 (20:11):
There's actually but that my teacher sleeps at school. If
your kids think that the teacher stays at.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
School, yeah, yeah, seven, Okay, Well it sounds like a
lovely place to go every day.
Speaker 8 (20:22):
I love my job.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Awesome.
Speaker 8 (20:23):
I don't like to drive. It's like an hour, but
I love my job.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Well, thanks for spending it with us. We appreciate you
beck here.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Yeah, a happy teacher appreciation week.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
We're making it the whole week, right is okay. I
didn't know if it was like the day yesterday, yeh,
Tuesday was the day, but the week is the week. Yeah,
thank you, Becky.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
I would love to hear from you too. Eight seven
seven three one zero four MSJ. Reach out anytime.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Coming up next, it's the producer's nail.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
What do we have, Bailey?
Speaker 6 (20:48):
Yeah, if anybody out there is trying to think outside
of the box for teacher Appreciation Day, Tiffany's got you covered.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Okay. We love hearing from you. Give us a call
anytime eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ or
reach out on Facebook or Instagram.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
It's done for the producer's nail at.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Bailey, what's in your back today? Okay?
Speaker 6 (21:06):
So we've been talking for a little bit about these
teacher appreciation date right.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
And just at the end of the school year, I
like to gift teachers.
Speaker 6 (21:13):
Yeah, that's a nice thing to do.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
It is.
Speaker 6 (21:15):
Tiffany's got something and I actually really like this. So
she says, I know you guys, you were talking about
teacher appreciation gifts. We did a movie themed gift this year.
You can actually purchase red box promo codes from their website,
and she had the codes sent to her email so
they could make a card with the codes on it.
And then they gave the teachers a movie code, a
popcorn bucket, box of popcorn M and MS, and a
(21:37):
box of Junior Men.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
And that's doable.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
That is doable, although in my case it would be lucky.
They'd be lucky if the junior min's actually made.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
It to them. Yeah, eat them on the way there,
like Forrest Gump. I ate some bo okay, and you
can always pick up movie candy for like a box somewhere,
but you know at draw stores.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
And Robberie inside the store that has the red box.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
Yeah, oh yeah, that's true, very true. Okay, thank you, Tiffany.
Speaker 6 (22:06):
Also with the teacher appreciation stuff, you posted your famous
snack mix Jody.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Yeah, I don't know if it's famous, but it's snack
mixed and it's not really mine, like anybody that can
make this. I guess it's mine because I share it
here all the time. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Well, it's the greatest gift in the world because you
can insert the holiday name and you know, yeah, you're done.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Cousin Casey was the first to make it in our
family that I can remember. But it's Eminem's peanut m
and ms peanuts, chocolate chips and raisins, and you just
mix it all up together evenly and it is such
good snacking.
Speaker 8 (22:35):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
Plus you can add other stuff if you want.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
You can, I suggested on our Facebook page. It's a
great thing to give teachers a little bag of or whatever,
unless it's a peanut free campus careful.
Speaker 6 (22:46):
Yeah, true, yeah, yeah, and you can add to the
stuff to it, Pat said. She says that he fat
her family loves this. Yeah, but she does make one
change though. She doesn't like raisins, so she uses crazins crazy.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Those are actually bigger and chew chewier. Well, Jody, your
brother doesn't like raisins, right, so you don't put raisins
in his.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
That's right. And I don't wait, oh, I don't put
peanuts in veins anymore. Your dad dad's, so he just
gets like a big chocolate thing, chocolate raisins and immin
regular custom orders here, yeah, I do. I do custom
orders for people in the family, absolutely, And when I
give it to my grandfather, no, peanuts because I would
go I would give him mix, and I'd go home
(23:26):
and go see him again, and he'd have just a
jar of peanuts left. Be like, what he's like, I
ate all the chocolate, So now I just give him chocolate.
Thank you, Pat for the suggestion. We need to try that.
Reach out any time on our Facebook page or Instagram.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Coming up in the next five minutes with Murphy Salmon, Jolie.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
You got a confession to make.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
I am envious of everybody in their shrum, especially producer Bailey,
and I'll tell you why, I Sam.
Speaker 8 (23:54):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
We don't want you to miss the thing ever, so
be sure to like us on Facebook. That way you'll
get a notification for a new posts and whenever we
go Facebook Live and you don't hang out together all
day long. Of course you can follow us on Instagram too.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
The Graham, Yeah, the Graham.
Speaker 4 (24:07):
I have a confession to make that I am and
I think this is one of the seven Deadly Sins.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Zoom in via is a sin? Yeah, yeah, hey, calm down,
one of the seven deadls. Yeah yeah. You want to
memorize the seven Deadly Sins, you need to watch the
movie Seven. You wouldn't like it. It's so dark, it's
so old, it's lock scene at the end. He never
saw the movie.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
I was always told that it would be a movie
I wouldn't like.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
And yeah, no, it's too disturbing for you. I know
about your sensitive heart.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
Anyway, what I am envious of is the fact that
I never learned to type. And when I watch every
brand new day here in this room. Yeah, you guys
type so quickly, especially Bailey. If you're ever hear when
Bailey gets into the morning younger generations walks right in
and the first thing he does before saying hello is start,
(24:54):
and I hear it.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
David was that same way.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
David was the same way, you know. And Murphy, you're
not as fast as everybody else.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
Well, I never did formal type in training, like on
a typewriter an early keyboard. I don't know if they
even do it, just kind of because a computer is
so ubiquitous.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Now, wow, Wednesday, say, when I type, I still stare
at the keyboard most of the time. Yeah, I never
learned the type. Back then it was called typing class.
Now it's a keyboarding class. Yes, but I will stare
at my fingers usually while I type.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Yeah. Then I look at the.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
Screen and then half the words are wrong and I
got to go back and correct it.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Anyway, you've at least moved past hunt and pick right.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
Oh yeah, yeah, I was a two finger hunting packer.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
So, Bailey, did you take a class in it or
is it just you've been that way?
Speaker 2 (25:37):
I did.
Speaker 6 (25:37):
I did take a computer class in I think eighth grade,
and but I really didn't enjoy that.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
I didn't there.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
It was basically, Okay, put your fingers on F and
J and we're gonna type how you're supposed to.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
I wasn't stimulating enough for me.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
I really think I learned how to type just because
of the Internet, like just talking to people online, right
the way that you live.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
I went on YouTube and they have plenty a keyboarding tutorial.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
There you go. You could get noticed that.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
You're having trouble with that, you know, I mean, are
you really that slow of a typer?
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Yeah? Really, it's not something that you would notice. It's
something that he feels and experiences daily. Hear me typing.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
It probably sounds at a decent speed, but you don't
notice that I'm staring down at the mistakes.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm making a million of those. In fact,
I probably spent just as much time hitting backspaces back.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
That's exactly what I continue to work on type the
time or twenty percent of the time to make eighty
percent of the mistakes.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Yeah, be worth it for you to second a lesson.
It would improve your life, if if that would make
you happy to improve that why they created YouTube.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Coming up next with Murphy's Sam and Jody.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
Okay, moms, we all keep notes from our kids because
they're golden, But do did you keep notes from your mother? Because? Boy,
is that priceless. We'll do that next. We're leading up
to Mother's Day, and you know we've been timing. Is
that by the way, stop Sam? What are you gonna
do for mom? Your mom probably visit? Oh yeah, you
are visiting? Oh good? Does she know this is a surprise?
Speaker 4 (27:03):
I probably should contact her because it does. Just because
I'm going to visit doesn't mean she's.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Going to be home. She's a bus in on her.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
You know, that's the the ultimate way of surperprising Andy.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Backfire, I say, take a chance on backfiring it, but
get her some flowers and when she opens the door,
you're standing with a flowers.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
A flower person. I was gonna visit and say, hey,
tell you what I'm going to take you to eat?
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Where to see.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
You though, because it's going to be Oh, I just
want to go get some fast food.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
No, no, that's not why I'm here. Okay, good luck
with that Sam. This weekend. Yeah, well, Jodie and.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
I will be seeing her mom for a while someday afternoon, a.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
While, A lunch, oh okay, just a lunch. Yeah. I
didn't say that in a bad way. I'm sting the facts.
I don't know what that twinkle in your eye was,
But anyway, okay, you're going to be spending a while
with her. You know, moms across the world we keep
notes from our kids. We just do. They're the most
precious things ever. But do you keep notes from your mother?
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Do you?
Speaker 1 (28:02):
What do you mean?
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Do you have notes that your mother wrote you or
cards and you come across her handwriting and it just
makes you feel incredible. Yeah?
Speaker 1 (28:08):
Yeah, well I think I told you about that. I
found when I was cleaning out over the holidays. Excuse me,
there was a there was a birthday card that my
parents had given me a couple of years ago, and
it had my mom's handwriting, and that's the first time
I've seen something in her handwriting since she passed away
two years ago.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Yeah, it really did out of me. Yeah, I can't
say that I have a lot of notes. I do
have a few little things from my mom, her handwriting
from over the years. My cousin Candace who lost they
Candis and Crystal lost their mom about thirteen years ago.
Now it's been quite a while. They kept notes that
my aunt would write them, and one of them and
cannas posted this week and it just touched my heart
(28:45):
so much. God loves you. Whatever you like to do,
do your best and pray it will always come true.
Love you, Mom. They have notes like that. In that
particular note, Canna says she carries in her wallet.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Sure, did you know what? It's also the time you
can hear their voice that you haven't heard, you know
what I mean?
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Yeah, I've got to go dig in and see if
I do have many notes, and if not, maybe get
her to write me a note so I can have
one for I could.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
Ask coming out.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
So Taylor Swift debuted her reputation tour last night in Arizona,
and she did not disappoint. We'll give you some of
those big moments.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
Next Judy's Hollywood Outside.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
Taylor Swift's Reputation tour kicked off last night in Glendelle, Arizona.
Opening acts Camilla Chabello and Charlie XCX who Right the
Way started around seven the opening acts It's a long night.
It is a long night, and Taylor Swift by herself
did twenty four songs. She performed every song from the
Reputation album and I say, rightly, so well get that way. Look.
(29:51):
I saw her for the tour nineteen eighty nine and
I thought it was incredibly well put together, like not
a not a dull moment at all. She tells stories,
she talks to the crowd a lot, and she did
not disappoint. Fans are blowing still blowing up Twitter this
morning about the whole experience.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
I want to see the stage where she's got the
big giant screen behind that blends into the.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
Floor, seamlessly into the floor, huge stages. At one point, okay,
while she's doing Look What You Made Me Do, there's
a huge snake that comes up and then you know,
there's a part of the song where Taylor normally answers
the phone. It's comedian Tiffany Hattish.
Speaker 10 (30:32):
Sorry why oh, because she's.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
And this song is the one with the snake. Okay,
But she addresses the snakes later in a very like
sweet tender moment at the piano, telling everybody, look, a
couple of years ago, somebody called me a snake on
social media and it caught on and it really hurt
me and it was a low point. And then she
ends in a tailor way, I guess, listenings, I wanted
(31:02):
to send the message to you guys that.
Speaker 6 (31:07):
Someone someone uses.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
A name calling to alloy you on social media and
even called a lot of people.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
Jump on board with it. That doesn't have to feed.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
You and Jim, I can strengthen you instead. That's so
Taylor Swiat. She always does that. By the way, her
boyfriend Joe Alwyn was there in the crowd and she
pointed to him during the song Gorgeous Whiz and made
the crowd Joe wild. Yeah. That was just opening night
with the House of sixty thousand. The reputation tour underway
(31:41):
for Taylor Swift. Expect big surprises, I guess for every
single date. Your next Hollywood Outsider is on the way
at eight thirty Murphy.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
Sam and Jody your Hollywood Insider.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Last night, Jodi had an instant pop moment. Sam. It
wasn't quite a dis Us moment, but it was an
instant pot.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
I haven't heard about the instant pot since right after Christmas.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
You know what, It's not true, that's not true. It's
may We talked about it. We did that. Did that
made the beef stew for him the other day in
the instant pot.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
I just know right after you bought it on was
it Black Friday you bought it, Yes, you were just
like burning it up for weeks.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Wow, and it's just poof, it's again. It's I don't
I wasn't raised cooking that way, so it's it's something
something new to learn on a busy weeknight. Sometimes I'm
not about it when you already got your routine and
you have your other ways of doing it. Right. We
do boil eggs in it often as you can't do
(32:43):
that on the stofe and they're perfect.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
Well, actually they come out easier when you peel them there.
It's a lot easier to get them out of the
instant pot. But it is a lot to get out
the instant pot, put in the water and you know
what I mean.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Yeah, and then program it right. So the it's no,
it's an easy program thing. But anyway, I've made a
mistake with the instant pot. Last night Murphy caught it.
So I put the eggs in, I put a cup
of water, and I do four, four and four. So
I hit number four, meaning it takes four minutes to
come up to pressure. Cooks. Pressure cooks for four minutes
and then I release it natural release for four okay, okay,
(33:14):
and then it's done, which.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
The girls don't like because the house smells like boiled eggs.
Not that bad, like the intensity of boiled eggs.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
They don't like bulled eggs, so it's really not that bad.
But anyway, it wasn't coming up to pressure, but it
was like steaming. Well, it was.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Taking forever, you know. Jody's like, okay, we're wrapping up.
We you know, Burpy, I need to do one thing.
Just watch the eggs take them out for me. I'm
like okay, And I'm sitting there and it's like this
is taking a lot longer than inside, and it's like
it's not coming. It's not even counting up, what's going
on it? Finally it starts steaming, and it's supposed to
come out of the little bitty you know area that
(33:49):
the plug what is it safety plug or something that
goes up.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
Oh, but yeah, the plug goes up to share.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
But the steam is coming out of all corners of
the pot.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
You know what.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
Yeah, the rubber ring. Jody didn't put the rubber ring
in that goes into you know it.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
Is taking it off to clean it, and so it
was never gonna work. It was a hot mess.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
The four four four became four minutes of me going
what's going on, four minutes of searching for the rubber ring,
and then four minutes to reset the inside.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
But it took a long time.
Speaker 4 (34:18):
There was no danger of pressure okay now, and the
eggs were salvage and all in great shape.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
So I mean it all worked out in the once
we got it all back, we did three, three and three.
Ah see how simple? Coming up with Murphy's Sam and
Joey more teacher gift ideas on the ways you can
gift well deserving teachers.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Yeah, and Sam's got music news next.
Speaker 4 (34:38):
Yeah, another big reason you're gonna want to go to
Vegas real soon.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
Sam's got music news.
Speaker 4 (34:46):
I know we have Gwen Stefani coming to Vegas, and
I know they're talking to a Dell about coming to Vegas.
But here's one I want to go see. It's Queen
in Vegas. It's Adam Lambert is singing for Queen. There
we're idle performances.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
He is a good choice because there is no other
Freddie Mercury. Yeah, there's no going backwards here unless you
go the hologram ar.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
Obviously, Adam has done a great job leading the band
and they love him because he's done this for years.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Yeah shows him.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
He's done hundreds of dates with Queen and so that's
what they're going to have starting in September.
Speaker 2 (35:18):
Now, this is a ten date limited engagement.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
It's called the Crown Jewels, but it'll be Queen with
Adam Lambert and if it works out, you know, we'll
add some more. And this is an MGM starting in septem.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
You're the only one of us who hasn't talked taken
a trip to Vegas to see a show, So I
think you need to do it.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
Might wait till Gwen gets settled there, you both, Yeah,
so I can do Queen and Gwen.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Accellent, Mariah the Summer too, don't forget Yeah, yeah, I
see Gwen though. Okay. Also some great news if you're
a Phil Collins fan. He oh Boys planning.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
And he's announced his first North American tour in twelve years.
It's called Not Dead Yet Wow. And that's the same
title as his book, The Bio if you've read that one.
It's gonna start October fifth and Fort Lauderdale go through
the twenty eighth in Los Angeles. So this is only
a one month, fifteen date tour, mainly big arenas. But
(36:10):
he's gonna have his son, Nicholas, the sixteen year old,
is his drummer's fast.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
It's probably gonna be a sellout and I'm guessing a
nott a cheap ticket.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Yeah no, but it'll be worth it. It's Phil Collins. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
Also, this Sunday, American Idol continuing on ABC, Carrie Underwood's
coming back to perform you all can.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
That's a big deal for them. So this is her
first No, I think she's I think she came back
for like a finale or something, come back.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
When they were wrapping the show Forever on Fox.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
Well, she's going to come back and sing this song.
Here Cry Pretty her new song, and she's gonna mentor
the final five contestants on the show. They're all going
to Nashville this week. They're going to carry and then
Carrie's going to mentor them and then sing the song
on the show Sunday.
Speaker 3 (36:52):

(37:53):
What's your favorite color?
Speaker 8 (37:54):
What do you like?
Speaker 10 (37:55):
Me?
Speaker 7 (37:55):
For my daughter's teacher, she's getting a mug. You know,
one of those normal mode that really keep it hot
yet mod?
Speaker 8 (38:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Yeah, serious two days. Yeah that's better.
Speaker 7 (38:07):
Yeah, yeah, I get that. But you can get it
at Walmart for like seven something, but it really does
the job. It's it's in the hunting section, that's sports section.
And so I am having her initials put on the
mug and we're putting her name on the beach towl,
so she'll have her yetti mus birthday beat owl and
it all has her initials name on it. And I
(38:27):
think she'll like.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
It all out. That's great.
Speaker 4 (38:29):
If any of that gets stolen, at least she knows
it's hers.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
Coming out has Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
Taylor Swift debuted her reputation tour last night and of
course did not disappoint. Tell you about it next.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
Jody's Hollywood Outside.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Taylor Swift kicked off her reputation tour last night twenty
four songs that she sang. That's after her opening acts performed,
and they got to the stage early. FYI, for anybody
buying a tea, it was not. Fans were not disappointed.
She really upped her game. There's a huge snake on
stage at one point with these huge screens and by
(39:38):
the way, she addressed all of that, all of her
snake haters, along with some comedy from comedian Tiffany Hattish.
Speaker 10 (39:47):
Song Sorry the O Taylor kickouts Wow oh, because.
Speaker 2 (39:59):
Let's look what you made me do. And by the way,
I expect a different famous person to answer that phone
at every single date. Smart that's one little thing. And
so you know, Twitter's blown up with how crazy good
it was. She sng she sang all songs from a
reputation and all of the other favorites fans wanted to hear.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
Murphy Salm and Jody, you are a Hollywood insider.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
Hey Murphy, I forgot to tell you this, and this
is some serious home business. Yesterday you need to know that.
You know, okay, our refrigerator shelves when you open that
main door, the right handed door, and that top shelf,
it's cracked and so don't put too much stuff in it.
Yesterday afternoon, yesterday after and I opened it up and
soy sauce went flying, and the soy sauce cap broke
(40:44):
and there was soy sauce dripped all over the floor
and guess who ate it and licked it up. Pop
with the bulldog.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
He was like, there was on the floor?
Speaker 2 (40:51):
Was there? This is the plastic soy sauce bottle that
looks like a glass bottle. But then I noticed the
reason it happened is because the the shelf had come
off of its little hinge because it had cracked. So
we can't put very much on that top shelf. The
glass is cracked. No, no, it's a plastic bottom that's cracked.
I'm a glass refrigerator door. Yeah, the shelf that's on
(41:13):
the door.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
Okay, the glass shelves inside the fridge. I get it now.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
But when I opened the door, the shelf was like,
oh no, not today, not with that velocity.
Speaker 4 (41:23):
That happened to me once. That's a quick inaggravating Amazon
boom you got in a week, a couple of days.
Speaker 2 (41:28):
Okay, Well, I was he yeah, I don't know what
to do about it. I was thinking duct tape, duct
tape or Amazon. What should we want to do?
Speaker 4 (41:36):
In your defense there, Jody, I did try uh yeah,
crazy glue in the meantime. Lasted a day and it's like, okay, yeah,
I just.
Speaker 2 (41:43):
Need to buy a new shelf.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
Okay to do list ip As.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
Sure did like some soy song. Are you guys know
who Anti Libawitz is right? Photographers very famous. Yeah, she
does the babies.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
No, no, that's and Getty's just the baby's any Libovit's celebrities.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
She also was the first chief photographer named at Rolling Stone.
Speaker 4 (42:04):
Yeah, didn't she do those big Vanity Fair covers every
year too often?
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Yes? And she is was the last person to take
to take pictures portraits of John Lennon. Little trivia about
Annie anyway, Annie Leebowitz is you can take her masterclass
in photography online. Now her master class has gone live
now right here, when Murphy just got my camera back? Right,
I mean your camera, your.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
Camera, what yours is? Yours is mine and mine is yours.
I suppose it's.
Speaker 2 (42:35):
True your camera that you said you'd buy. You bought
new batteries for me so I could start shooting again.
I haven't shot in years, and I'd love to shoot.
You haven't done anything yet. No, it's been too busy.
Remember the Sunday that I was going to shoot and
he had the camera, the batteries ready. I was sick.
Remember I got six a couple weeks ago. H I
that day was a blank. Anyway, Just so you know,
(42:55):
Annie Liebowitz has a photo one, photography one, and it's
like many men, she goes everywhere into everything about how
she gets photos. Whether she wants to put people at
ease or not, it's very specific to her. Murphy.
Speaker 4 (43:08):
This would make a great Mother's Day gift, That's all
I'm saying, you know, to go along with the camera.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
I think we already did Jody's Mother's Day gift, didn't
We should get the date here now, I'm just kidding.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
