Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's a Murphy Salmon Jody after the show podcast, thank
you for hanging out with us.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Okay, so all this week and we still want to
hear you know, from from you about your most memorable vacations,
and we do mean the good and the bad, because
they're you know, honestly, sometimes the most memorable are those
horrible moments where you're like so frustrated that something happened,
that you didn't want it to go down this way,
But that's what makes you remember it. Yeah, it really is.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
I guess I'm lucky that I had more good vacation
moments than bad. I mean, I'm really struggling to try
to remember some bad moments, and.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
I good congrats. I told you, guys, and I think
this was not long ago that I told you, and
you both looked at me like I had a third
eyeball that when I was a kid. This is true.
We did not go on vacation often. It was not
an every summer thing. Like we've been blessed enough Murphy
to give our kids, you and I, and.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
They've been varying. It's not like we're taking them out
to the French River era.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
No, I know, we've but it doesn't. We still have
done it. But there were years, for sure, many many
years where the biggest thing I got to do in
the summer was go visit my cousins Candice and Crystal
and stay for a week and hang with them, which
was golden to me. I loved it, you know. And
we would go to amusement parks and we had a
ton of fun together. So that was a vacation, but
(01:14):
it wasn't time with my family. So my parents saved
up for many years to take us on a big
vacation and then we did it. We did it in
the car ten days, We're going everywhere.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
There are a lot of people that do it that way.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
That's, you know, yeah, something that I would love to
do though, you know how. And I do love our
family vacations when it's just the four of us, that
is fabulous to me and it is priceless actually, But
as our girls get older, they're both teenagers now, one
of the best things ever for me is one on
one time. I love it when I have just Phoebe,
(01:48):
and I love it when I have just Taylor.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
What are you laughing at? Sham Sam is waiting for
the request bomb to drop whatever.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
I thought, somehow I have to make a request.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
I thought, somehow you're going to work your mom into
family vacation Jody, Oh no, no, no, she worked herself into
family vacations in the past. Sam, that's not a no
shocking thing there right ahead and playing on the fifth seat, she's.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yes, yes, when she when they were little, and she
helped a ton. How many times did you get to
take me to dinner just me because mom was back
at the condo with the little.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Yes, your mom was very helpful because that age, right,
we would yeah, respective yes.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah right, And excuse me, are we going on vacation
with your family this summer?
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Yeah, yeah yeah. Anyway back to the original ask, is
that our request or just hey throwing this out there.
I do think I would love to take a little
weekend trip with just Phoebe and then a weekend trip
with just Taylor. I really want to think both mom
and daughter. I like one on one time I could
(03:02):
take both of them and they maybe I could let
them choose because they do like hanging together. We're lucky.
Our girls really are best friends. Sometimes our enemies, but
most of the time best friends. And they do like
being together. I can just tell you that sometimes when
I have just Taylor in the car running errands, it's
fabulous time. It's good talk time. When I just have
phoebe the same, it is true. Same is true for you, Murphy.
(03:24):
You do daddy daughter date nights all the time and
they love that.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, Daddy daughter date nights, though, are a little bit
less expensive and manageable and financially speaking, is all I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
I know I'm not talking about breaking our bank, but
I am talking about it.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
We can get away, you know, and it depending on
what you're choosing to do, that could get pricey really fast.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
I know it could.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
We've got to get a car for Taylor soon, our oldest.
We have to talk about coloring.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
I write this down and I shouldn't tell them that
I can't do this.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Well, I think most people would say that's a luxury.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
It is a luxury that I'm saying. If I can
make it happen, I might want to do that. You know.
This is a short blink in their life and our life.
When they are both still at home. We are quickly
watching Taylor just blossom. She is learning to drive, She
is getting a class ring next year. We're gonna blink
and she's gonna graduate, you know, And do you think
(04:17):
she's going to want to go on a mom daughter trip.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Then well probably and actually may even be more special
then you know, it's maybe having them help pay for
part of the trip.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
See where it's going now.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
I'm just joking about that.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
But it is one of those where I mean, when.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
I think about that, it's a great idea, but that
is a that could be depending on what it is,
a more expensive proposition.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
For the weekend. I know that I'm not planning to
break the bank. I'm planning on spending some quality time
away with our daughters.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
I would just keep some eyes on it because it's
a pricey proposition.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Thanks Sam, I haven't heard that
