Speaker 2 (00:19):
I hear you, But one day a week to have
one little thing is It's okay.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
It's what you're doing it for.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Us that you can splurge once in a while. So
if I were you at splurge a little bit.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
On Sunday, well, Taylor brought some hot Cheetos popcorn home
from her theater job.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Lame in hot Cheetahs. But not just some Murphy. You
gotta tell Sam the truth. They were getting rid of
some or something. It's a huge bag of flaming hot
Cheetos popcorn.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Wow, it was the happiest bag I've ever seen walking
into the house. And I'm like, you know what, all
I'm gonna be able to do is a little handful
of this, But it was worth it.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
She looked like Santa Yeah, oh that big. It was big.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
I've got a picture we'll post it on the Facebook
coast this morning.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
It was like Sanna's sack of popcorn?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Yeah, why were they getting rid of it? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
I didn't I was going to Tibet. Murphy picked her up.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
It was the end of the night, the theater was closing.
Got you. But nobody else eats the popcorn and.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
They don't stale it up.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Bringing home with the guy on the diet and't that
crazy right? But she loves that's.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Look that's for her because her and her friends will
knock that out today. Okay, don't you worry. But speaking
of snacky snacky Daddy recipes on our website and Facebook page. Now,
everything from those kind of bold spicy snacks to like
Mississippi mudcake, my seven layer bars is on this list.
But Sam, I had forgotten about your firecrackers.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
They're so good ones with the red pepper and the ranch.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah, it's saltines like oil and all those spices and
you just toss them up carefully.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
They're so good. I went and bought a couple of
bags of oyster crackers, but I don't think I'm gonna
use those. Why because they don't have any salt on
them to start with.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
You're gonna put spices on them, though, when you make firecrackers.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
I'm out them both ways, and they're both great.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Okay, Well, I got two bags of oyster crackers and all
the fix and so we'll get right there. Yet these
fit in with the diet.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
No, okay, but that's okay. If you know, I'll just
count the oyster.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Crashers broccoli bites for you, Murphy. But anyway, Snacky Daddy recipes,
Murphy Samon Jody dot Com coming up Hollywood first one
of the morning, we get a look and listen at
Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong in the First Man trailer.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Guys, this fall is going to be insane at the
box office. I'm so excited about Bohemian Rhapsody coming, don't
even get me.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Starting biopic. Yeah, probably Eddie Mercury biopic specifically.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Right, specifically, and then oh my gosh, a star.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Is born with Mercury.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Oh did I met Freddie?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
If I said Eddie, I was trying to figure out
who Eddie Mercury is, his long lost.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Brother, Eddie Freddie Mercury.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Eddie Mercury would have been a great SNL character for
Eddie Murphy to have done.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
I'm a feeling that right now. Anyway.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
I'm also excited about The Star is Born with Bradley
Cooper and Legaga. And then we get this trailer this week,
and in October we're gonna get First Man, which is
the Neil Armstrong story, right, and it's Ryan Gosling playing
Neil Armstrong, him teaming back up with the director from
La La Land. Here's a little listen.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
We need to fail down here so we don't fail
up there.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
This isn't just another trip Neil. You know what was
going to work?

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Can you think you're coming back?

Speaker 3 (03:26):
There are risks, but we have every intention I'm coming back.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
So I'm sitting in here watching this early this morning,
and what is eor doing?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Sam?

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Shaking your head?

Speaker 1 (03:35):
What's wrong?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
It looks great? Okay. We've seen the Freddie Mercury biopic
and it looks like Freddy Mercury. And we saw the
Ray Charles biopick and it looked like Ray Charles. This
is Ryan Gosling with no attempt to look like Neil Armstrong.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
But does it matter?

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Though?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
It's just very It looks like the guy from the notebook.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Yeahs is he's not breaking in the song and singing,
you know.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Go in to the Moon.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Oh see, maybe because a lot of the public they're
not space buffs like you are, and they don't know
what Neil Armstrong looked like.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
I'm still gonna go see this one because of the
fact that I am a space buffer when don't hear
some of the story.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
That I don't know, looks like you're there in that time.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Yeah, if Neil Armstrong were so alive, he would approve.
I think, yeah, boom, okay, wouldn't you want somebody like
Ryan Gosling being your guy?

Speaker 3 (04:22):
That is that awesome? So we're gonna get Ryan Ryan guy.
That's a compliment.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
And by the way, Murphy Claire Foy plays his wife
in this movie that was hard the Queen.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
That's right from the Crown Sam and she's a couple.
That's a power couple right there.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
And Kyle Chandler is in it.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
You know how I love that man, not just from
front of highlights from Blood.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
He's an astronaut. Also, yeah, he's one of the NASA people.
He was he had a chalkboard and he was drawn
lines the movie.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
So first man, if you can get over. Hey, girl,
it's Ryan Gosling like Sam can't at the box office.
October twelfth, Murphy, Sam and Jody Your.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Hollywood coming up next? Sam is the food dude.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Yeah, well, even if you're not a big basketball fan,
you want to thank the Golden State Warriors for free
lunch today.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Come hang out with us after the show. You can
enjoy the Murphy, Sam and Jody podcast yesterday in case
you missed it, Sam got to laugh at my expense
because of the way that our road trips work. When
Jody and I take the girls of vacation, there's usually
one or two things I do before leaving the house.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
That almost.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Exactly So. Anyway, subscribe today or you can Google listen
absolutely free. It's the Murphy, Sam and Jody Podcast.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Sam always fines eats gees.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
You may know about this one because of the NBA
Finals last week, but I got to remind you today
is free Taco Day at Taco Yes.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
On your calendar. Sam.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Steal it, Steal a game. Steal a taco if the
away team wins on the home team's court, which happened
in Game three. Also happened in Game four, but it
happened in Game three the Golden State Warriors beating the Lebron.
So that means today, at your taco favorite taco bell
between two and six, swing in and just tell them
you want your free Dorito's Locos taco one per person.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Please, one per person in your car and then you
can go find another one. So I know you're going
to do that.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
La mop out the taco bells and you get a
whole lunch and you have stuff taking care for dinner.
I don't know if y'all wanted to bring this one
up again. The International House.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Of Burgers pancakes pancakes promotion.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
I hoop did come out as we expected earlier this
week and say it's burgers. That's why they changed the
P to B. Yeah, the funny thing temporarily. Temporarily Yeah.
The CEO says, no, this is only for a short
time here to highlight our burgers. But everybody, all the
other food places jumped on this one on Twitter, Murphy,
I don't know if you saw it. A little marketing war.
Wendy's jumped on there and said, well it's spelled pretty,

(06:47):
and they tweeted that they're not afraid of burgers. From
a place that decided pancakes were just too hard. I
hob rare countered back saying, we don't want any beef
with you. We just want to share our burgers with
the world. Who said that, I hop, you know, and
Wendy's was tweeting. Moonpie actually came on and said, we
worked for one hundred years to get people to remember

(07:08):
our brand. We're going to stick with Moonpie.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Any they had the world's attention right there and they
knew it, okay.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
And even Burger King they changed their Twitter handle to
Pancake King and they go like a even changed their
logo to stay Pancake King instead of Burger.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
You know what, the people who came up with this
for I hop are loving it because here we are
still talking about it, all aware that they're doing burgers now.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah, everybody's going to be trying out the burgers now
and they will be back to International House of House
of Pancakes sometime soon.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
All right, Thank your food dude.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Coming up next with Murphy's Salm and Josie. We've said,
we want to know what you do on road trips
with your family, what games you play in the car,
How do you pass the good family time eight seven
seven three one zero four msj So, James, your road
trip game.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Is next.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Because it's that time of the year and we like
to make the time count with the family. What road
trip games do you play when in the car? Eight
seven seven three one zero four MS J James.

Speaker 7 (08:12):
Yeah, whenever we go on some trips, when we look
at license plates, usually you'd see like three letters yes,
and so what we would do is we would pick
one license plate and then each of us in the
car would try to make up our own little scene
to the three letters.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (08:28):
It could be someone's name, it could be you know whatever.
So like for instance, we had an O, W and
a K, you know, someone would probably say, ohb wan kenobi,
you know, to take third. That's that's what we would do.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
That's cool.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
And you know, with all those little sayings that we
have these days, like L O L you see the
actual ones you see license.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Plates, right, you know, yeah, W, T, H and stuff. James.

Speaker 7 (08:53):
And if if we ever had a like a Q
or an X, oh, yeah, just as long as the
Q or the X or in the word right, nice, Yeah,
it made easier.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
All right, James, I'm gonna put you on the spot
right now.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
My personal license plate has a.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
R E in it a.

Speaker 7 (09:09):
R yes, another radical exception.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Fast? Is there are there points for being quick too?

Speaker 7 (09:19):
Uh the quicker?

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (09:22):
True?

Speaker 3 (09:22):
You bet our chaoff? Very good one more sam uh
b g L.

Speaker 7 (09:30):
I'm sorry b g L. Yes, Oh goodness, big glory.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Uh yeah, gory lama. Okay, hate to see that at night.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Look, thank you for that one. We got to play
that one to lunch guys.

Speaker 7 (09:48):
Well, you guys have a good day.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Thanks James, Thank you call us any time. Appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Ye eight seven seven three one zero four M. S. J.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
Bailey, producer. Bailey's got his hand up. By the way,
you have a card game?

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (10:00):
In high school, I used to play a whole bunch
of games with my friends in the car. Oh this
is the best one.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Let's do that next.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Yeah, sec. There's don't have to be all about the
screen while you're going on vacation, even if you have
one of those built in cool DVD players that kind
of hangs in the back, you know what I mean,
you know, sometimes just doing it together as a family
of one of those games.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Road trip games.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Loving hearing from you on this too eight seven seven
three one zero for MSJ. I said yesterday that I
didn't play road trip games when I was growing up.
I was wrong, so I apologized to my mother. We
played I Spy. That was about it. And you know
that lasted about ten minutes before you're really bored, I think.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Because that's where you're just you're describing something, but everybody
has to guess what you're looking at. Yeah, you keep
giving the description until somebody gets.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Yeah big.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Anyway, Producer Bailey, you played games car games in college
or high school?

Speaker 8 (10:53):
In high school mostly, Yeah, Me and my friends would
go on camping trips sometimes, and you would What we
would do is why we were on the road. Everybody
in the car except the driver of course, would be
playing this game called banana. And maybe you've heard of it.
Anytime you'd see a yellow car, you'd yell banana, and
if you were the first person to say banana, you'd

(11:14):
get a point okay, and you'd keep going. And yellow
cars are relatively rare and they're easy to spot exactly,
So are there a lot.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Of bananas flying at the same time? Like banana?

Speaker 8 (11:24):
Yeah, Well, when when somebody sees a car like way
off in the distance. You know, you're on the interstate,
and you see an eighteen wheeler way over there that's
got the yellow cab. You're saying banana as soon as possible,
so it keeps you alert, right. But the thing is
if somebody sees a PT cruiser, you yell PT cruiser,
and everyone but the person who said it loses all
their points.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Ah. That's the trick you need in every game.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
That's a good game. And I would say that that's
trickier to fine today because there aren't as many PT
cruisers on the road right now.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
This is so true. If you found a yellow PT cruiser.

Speaker 8 (11:58):
Oh well, that's the that's the end all. You get
a point and everyone else loses.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
That's the unicorn.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
I love it when you make up your own family game.
That's why we want to hear from you.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
That's safer than punch Buggy.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Yeah. I'm so sick of Yeah that needs to be gone.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Yeah all right, look, give us a call, join the
conversation anytime. Eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ
coming out Hollywood. It's like Roseanne bar Is trying to
do something good now for all those people who got
fired after she got her show got canceled on ABC.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
I'll talk that's going around Hollywood and over at ABC
about Roseanne and it's life after Roseanne Barr tweeted without
thinking and changed everybody's life over there, the whole cast
and crew.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Ohrfe and you're talking about what they're going to do.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Now, right, So supposedly it's rumored that negotiations have taken
place about her spin off centering on another character. We
know that, and I'm thinking Jackie would be great, yeah,
or Darlene. I think most of the if you're a
fan of that show, you're rooting for maybe Darlene.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
A lot of stuff I've seen online has said that Darlene,
the Darlene story or the spinoff Hilbert.

Speaker 6 (13:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
So the one sticking point for ABC and several others
who were hurt by this by Roseanne what she did
is that she would still get profits from that spin off.
Like Darlene starts to go into production, they do all
this work and all this writing and all these people,
and Roseannes at home the money making money as the
creator of the original show, and of course she came
up with all this. An insider says, this could just

(13:35):
be a rumor, but an insider saying that she feels
so bad about it for those people that she worked with,
the ones you know and the ones you don't know,
the unseen, you know, Cass, a couple hundreds. She feels
so bad that she's trying to figure out a way
to help them. Since the cancelation, she's considering giving up
her financial and creative participation and therefore profits so the
spinoff can go on, right, and those people that you

(13:58):
know she didn't mean to hurt but hurt could get
jobs back, right.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Everything that she made would go to others.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
That's the word. That's the word. It's a rumor. Though
we haven't heard the name Kevin Spacey in a while,
but you're going to see it, see him and hear it.
Hear it's at the box office this summer.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
So it was a couple of years ago that all
these allegations came out about Kevin Spacey and he got
fired from Netflix's House of Cards that show, he got
cut from the film All the Money in the World,
and they went back here to we filmed all of
that with Christopher Plumber. Well, there is a movie that
was in production when all this went down, called The
Billionaire Boys Club. So they filmed it two and a

(14:36):
half years ago, and then this thing happened. They didn't
know what to do with it. It's based on a
true story of the nineteen eighties Ponzi scheme, and he's
in it, and he's going to be in it when
it gets in theater. Just no, just the decision. It
was a huge guess too. Emma Roberts a part of
it too. When you hear Billionaire's Billionaire Boys Club and
you see him in the trailer, it's him. Kevin Spacey

(14:58):
coming up in your next Hollywood Outside of this Morning
around seven to fifty five, who is playing matchmaker for
a now single Selena Gomez. Up to date with Jody's
Hollywood Outsider on our website This week Snacky Daddy recipes.
You get it, snacks you can whip up for dad.

(15:19):
You can go, you know, if you're a real chef cook,
there's stuff to do, but there's also little snacks that
the kids can throw together that are good. You'll get
them on as a Father's Day gift idea. Murphy Sam
and Jody dot Com and his dad.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
I don't want a whole lot of anything, you know
what I mean, just that that's kind of really everybody's
being there is enough for me. But you know, a
little snack and here and there doesn't have to be
any fancy.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
It's like to get together, I mean, get Phoebe your
young guests to throw together that thing she meant made
that time.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Oh she did popcorn, cheese balls and pretzels.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Oh was good.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
I know they're pretty creative when it comes to that.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Now.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
And Taylor's got that flaming hot Cheetos popcorn now from work.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
That comes straight from here, the theater she works for.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Exactly to it though, Man, that would be hot.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Stuff to it pretty good.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Eight seven seven three one zero four M. S. J.
You Carols keep coming on a road trip games that
you are playing in the car this summer, so we
love to hear from you.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
What's Terry.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
Our last road trip was to Miami. We started out
at night. We drove the whole way through and so
we played radio Roulette is what we named it.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
Yeah, yeah, my.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
Kids are both teenagers. But we basically panned the phone
to to whoever and we picked a song and play
it on, you know, on the radio.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Right.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
We all have very different tastes. My daughter is, of
course musicals and stuff. It makes my son cringe, and
my son knows that she detests Bohemian Rhapsody.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
What.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
So we did all of that. But as we did it,
I made a list on my note and when I
got home we had a playlist from that vacation.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Oh oh man, that is cool, and so I just.

Speaker 5 (16:58):
Thought it was kind of a neat idea way to
create a memory there without having to go to too
much trouble. It's true, but now we can just pull
that up and listen to that whole playlist from that drive.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
Right, and when they hear those songs, you know, alone
or whatever, for the rest of their lives in a
grocery store or whatever, they're going to think of that
and associate it with that family time.

Speaker 5 (17:17):
It was a great way to make a memory.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Yeah, that is super cool.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
The vac playlist.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
Well, how many times have you gone back and you
know there's a song you're like, oh wait, wait, that
was the vacation that we did, and you kind of
have to strain and.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
Remember that a lot.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
You will name a year Murphy that you were at
the beach and what beach and all that because of
a song that.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
When I was a kid. Yeah, but even even with
our girls, I mean there was the summer of Miley
Cyrus are on a grande and I think what else
was big that year?

Speaker 2 (17:43):
I know what you're talking about, up all night to
get lucky?

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Yeah, lucky daft pump, that's right. Yeah, but they say,
if we'd have made a playlist.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Remember that, Terry, thank you, Jump in anytime eight seven
seven three one zero four MSJ coming up next with
Murphy Sam Joe Murphy, it's your turn. You're up Father's
Day gift ideas that dads would love since you're a
dude too.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Yeah, one of them is I think it would be
the coolest gift ever. I'm not sure how many people
will be able to give it though. That's next.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Father's Day is Sunday, so you can log on and
get these ideas from Murphy and Sam, stuff that you
guys would like and dig correct.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Yes see, you are up well.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
And you know Sam started off with electronics and I
really tried to avoid electronics all right, So we'll do
a bonus list for you online that are things that
aren't necessarily electronics. But I found three things. The first
one is not this is great for any dad. You
don't have to do this as an online purchase. It's
not ridiculously expensive. It's just basically, you know, kind of
the sliders, not the flip flops, but the sliders. Not

(18:44):
to eat Sam, That's why he was getting no, but
your favorite teams are on usually the all the NFL teams.
Have you got a whole line of those, you know,
so you can slip dad's favorite, you know team right
on his feet.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Oh slider.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Yeah, they're the foam cushion kind of you know, use
lines around the house.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
They look like slippers, Yes, kind of like slippers for
sipt their open tod got it.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
And so you know easy number gotcha. Number two is
and I know, I'm sorry, Sam is not Hamburger sliders.
That's what that's what he's thinking of. The second one,
you know, this is going to be a little more costly.
You have two options on it. If your dad really
is into vinyl called belt driven, the lesser expensive turntables
are around ninety nine bucks. The direct drive if you

(19:26):
really are you know, a purest maybe the way to
go because that's the turn turntable that will last. Yeah,
there's still about two hundred fifty two and seventy bucks
if you get.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Your siblings, like everybody, do it together for.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
It and then buying something on vinyl like this, and
then you can listen to you know, used Little Nirvana
that's hot, and then so I will tell you the
other the last thing is a little bit impossible for
most people. I just had to add it to the
list because it's cool. We can't even do this one,
Jody Sam. You will think that this one is super
very cool. It's a real life arcade game. Oh but

(20:03):
not that it's retro. But they make them now with
like all of the old school games in them in
one game. It's loaded up with, you know, the best
games of the nineteen eighties. The only problem with this
it's about thirty four hundred bucks is three thousand.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Yes, honestly, that's I thought it would be more expensive
than that.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
I'm not trying to I'm saying you're paying for the.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Hardware and the screen and a lot of that stuff.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
You're going to say, the only problem is you still
need quarters.

Speaker 5 (20:28):
Quarters.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
It's the game that keeps costing todd more money anyway.
So those are all extremes of a list, and we'll
have some bonus ones for you at Murphy Salmon.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Jody dot House on coming up with Murphy Sam Jody.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Well, do you have a birthday this week for my
thirteen year old twins? So I need a little help
keeping things fair and even as far.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
As you got to be fair that Oh yeah, when.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
You go on Facebook today, be sure to look for
us and like us. That way you'll get notifications when
we go Facebook Live or a new post, all that
kind of fun stuff.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
This week is my twins birthday by Maddie and Parker,
turning thirteen. They'll be teenagers this week tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
And twins, they're not identical, but they have similarities.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Maddie's about a foot taller than Parker right, which is
really to me. I find that personally funny.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
But that's a typical thing with girls and boys.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
You know, you think of twins everything's alike, but you
know that they have never been alike. So I asked
them about a week ago, start making your birthday list.
You know I do this at Christmas too, So I
have an idea because even with Jackson, my other little one,
my teen. They don't ever tell you what they want
until the last minute. So Maddie came up with this

(21:39):
awesome list. I posted it on Instagram and Facebook if
you want to check it out. But it's very specific,
as she wants slime supplies. There's a certain kind of
clay that she wants to like her slime Okay, she
wants Oh yeah, she's got her slunt. Well, she calls
it the slime room in the back of the house.
It's really my extra bedroom.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
But I am so glad we made it through that phase.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
She's Phoebe still has a stashus lime stuff.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
Oh really, yeah, I'm thinking.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
The light today, pour summers over.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Matty ran out of her gallon of Elmer's glue. No,
we've got half gallon.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Yeah, yeah, a few more months ahead of you.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
Oh that's great.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
She's specific, which is cool.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Specific, and she has about five things. And so I
gave Parker the job to the chortes. I come up
with something, Okay, okay, okay. He kept putting it off
and putting it off, and so he finally sat down
with a pad and he just stood there and he
finally wrote one thing, and he said, this is all
I can come up with, and it's a fifty dollars
PlayStation gift card because he likes to play PlayStation four

(22:37):
games online. Yeah, and he's like really, and it's like,
there's nothing else, there's no kind of toy. You got
to surprise him.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
You got to give him whatever you can, you know,
and then you got to surprise him based on what
you know of him. He can't think of that, but
that's the magic of it. Yeah, you know, you know
what kind of snacks he digs, you know what he's into.
Oh yeah, you know, he's the one that wanted about
Michael Myers mask showing up.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
So thank you and Happy birthday Parker and Maddie.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
So you're concern about keeping this even is the difference
in the price of the supplies for slime versus a
gift card for playing and the fact that, like Jody says,
surprise him, do something else, because it's like one little
gift card.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Here and a bunch of other stuff for Maddie. You know,
we just want to have a bunch of good stuff.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Well, I think what makes it equal is, you know,
like Jody was saying, the things that you know, are
special to them individually.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, Sam has music News.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
This is cool. We're going to tell you why Bruno
Mars might might want to be thanking Janet Jackson for
his next big hit.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Sam's got music News and.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
If this comes to fruition, this is really going to
be cool. Janet Jackson, who's currently on tour right now,
she's also in between dates working on her new album.
Her voice so happy. Recently, when we had the Billboard
Music Awards, she was there, so she got that Icon Award.
Sure did. And Bruno Mars was there because he performed,

(23:58):
and they kind of hooked up. They were there, like
started talking the business and all that stuff, and they said,
we're going together. We need to work together. Boo, I'm
doing a new album right now. So she and Bruno
talked about it. They penciled in some dates to get together,
write a song and record it together in the future
for her new album that she's working on. And the
producers of that will be Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jimmy.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Jam who always told Janet Jackson back in the day, right,
And you know what we always think, We think celebrities
automatically know each other but they really don't. And I'm
sure Bruno Mars looks up to her and says, wow,
this is an icon of legend. I've got to talk to.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Her for real. He may have been nervous too.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Well.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
It's funny because he even said, you know, in the
interview that they had with him. He goes, yeah, I
looked up to her when I was when I was
a kid kid. Yeah, she kind of influenced where I
went and he used to love her song. So now
they might work together and we'll have another number one. Yeah,
that's cool, Jody, this one you might like. Maroon five,
there's a well, there's a new I told you a
while back. Will Smith's working on the official song for
FIFA the World Cup, the Soccer World Cup. Yeah, there's

(24:58):
a whole album that they're putting out. Different artists are
contributing songs, and I found out that Maroon five did
a cover version of Bob Marley's Three Little Birds and
that's going to be on the Album's cool.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
You know what timeless song and there are a lot
of great remakes and versions. We so sting do that
one in concert, yeah, which was incredible.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
That was melty. Yeah, you're right, the timeless song. As
long as you can sing this song.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
Works, and Adam Leman can sing every very much, saying
cover song we've ever heard him do Sinatra and stuff.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
He's not going to throw anything out there, so if
we can't sing it, well, he's probably not going to
do it.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
And we're keeping an eye on Demi Levado on her
UK tour right now. She had to cancel. She had
to cancel a couple of she's shooting cancel one day,
but she's not getting any better. She's got swollen vocal chords.
So she's had to cancel two dates, one in London,
one in Manchester, and she said she can make them up.
If I don't cancel these couple of dates, the whole

(25:59):
tour is going to have to be cancel. Yeah, according
to doctors. So good luck to the meat. Love Vato
getting back on stage, Murphy, Sam.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
And Jody Music News. Okay, we love hearing from you,
so jump in anytime and we're going to check into
our producer's mail bag next, right, Bailey.

Speaker 8 (26:13):
But yeah, this week we're talking about a whole bunch
of road trip games and stuff. But somebody emailed us
and talked about something where you have to say cow
alert in the car.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
You know we love to hear from you.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Eight seven seven three one zero four m asked Jay
or you can hit us up on Facebook or Instagram.
The producer's mail bag, Bailey, what's.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
In your bag today?

Speaker 8 (26:35):
Yeah, Judy, we were talking about a whole bunch of
car games and stuff.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
You know, yeah, vacation.

Speaker 8 (26:40):
Now, what do you play in the car? Yeah, April's
got some ideas, she says. When my kids or she's
got three kids and I travel, we always stop at
rest or parking areas and we play. Simon says, it
loosens them up and they don't always get so stiff
in the car.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Oh yeah, like get them out and get them moving, right.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
I've never played a game outside of the car like that.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Yeah, well yeah, they're usually car games.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
And sure, that's a good idea to give them moving.
You got to you gotta take a break and move around.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Mark.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
We've had those car trips where the girls are like,
I don't need to go to the bathroom, like you
need to get up to get out and your circulation.

Speaker 8 (27:14):
Yeah okay, Pril, thank you, and so Sherman actually says,
we play two games, build a story where each person
gets to add four words to the story. And also
another game that we play is when we pass a
field with cows, someone yells cow alert, you have to
hold your breath until you've passed the cows.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Which kind of happens when you're standing near the cow too.
But for reason, I.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Love to see cows and horses and just like unexpected
animals grazing.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
I love that. I like that though, holding your breath
that you passed the.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Pastor see that sounds like the kind of game you're
playing in the back seat of the car where your
brother or sisterro That's fun.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (27:56):
Oh and also, are y'all still excited about this Halloween movie?

Speaker 2 (27:58):
I totally am. I'm scared. Actually it's a Halloween reboot.
I mean, your grandmother is Laurie Strode.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
Now, Laurie Strode was J's character in the first.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
One, and she's back and this movie is like the
other sequels didn't even happen, and it picks up like
he was institutionalized for this whole time.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
The original director too.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Yes, John Carperner. So we are excited about it, Bailey.

Speaker 8 (28:19):
Yeah, Well, jin is excited as well, but she says
that as a kid, I was actually more scared of
Freddy Krueger than Michael Myers. I've seen the original Halloween
movie and I also read the book, but the book
was a little bit more scary because it had more
details than the movie.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Yeah, look that the movie's really Scaryan.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
And Freddy Krueger, I mean it was, there wasn't more.
It was more intense. I think it was more graphic,
if it really was.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
More graphic because of the FINGERNI.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Whereas Halloween was more suspenseful.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
Yeah, good stuff though, Thank you, Jen. We love and
that was in the Hollywood outside of yesterday.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
By the way.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
The fact that that movie is coming in October perfect
month for it to arrive this year. I love hearing
from you. Jump in anytime on Facebook or Murphy Samon
Jody dot com coming up Hollywood, tell you why the
custody agreement between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is getting
so ticky tacky this summer so specific.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
Brad Pitt and Angelina Joe Lee's custody case with those
kids has tightened up and it's gotten some new attention
from a judge. In fact, some info was released earlier
this week that the judge determined just the other day
that to both of them, not having a relationship with
their father their kids is harmful to their is harmful
to the kids, and it's critical that they have a

(29:39):
strong and healthy relationship with their mother and father.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
A judge try to lay that down. Not spending enough
time with Brad, is that what they're saying.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
Yeah, And so they've adjusted the summer schedule so Angelina
had them most of the time. She's been busy on
the set of Maleficent two.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
Before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday.

Speaker 9 (30:00):
She sure.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Breaking off the horns again.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
He has also been filming Once upon a Time in Hollywood.
That knew, He's already been working on that project with
Quentin Tarantino, right, So it's a lot of ticky tacking,
as can you imagine both being gone, both traveling at
the same time, and trying to work out a custody agreement. Well,
apparently the judge determined, Look, they're not spending enough time
with Brad, and I'm sure Brad's lawyers are working to

(30:25):
try to get more time. So he's going to spend
a lot of time with them in June. It's very
ticky tacky though, like he can also now text them
anytime he wants to, without her looking at the phone
and inter seating inter Yeah, yeah, it's.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Very ticky tacky.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
And by the way, it was two years ago when
they filed for divorce and they have not been able
to work any of this out yet. But she has
to comply with all these specific yet nicer too this time,
and apparently it hasn't been as nice well as Brad
would like. Remember, they've got quite a few kids. Sixteen
year old Maddox, by the way, can decide how often

(31:02):
he wants to spend time with Bravity. The other children
ages thirteen, twelve, nine. The twins are nine. They fall
into this new schedule that was kind of laid out
by the judge.

Speaker 3 (31:12):
All right, let's tell you about something fun.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
You know, Selena Gomez is single because she's not with
Justin Bieber anymore. But one of her besties is trying
to set her up and play matchmaker, and that's Miss Taylor.
She wants a killa time. I saw she didn't spend
as much time with Selena when Selena was back with
Justin apparently because she doesn't like Justin as much. Oh
and so now, oh, Selena spending more time with me?

(31:37):
And I know all these great guys who don't have
an entourage. It would be great for you. So Taylor
Swift apparently playing matchmaker for Selena Gomez. She knows a
lot of people. She certainly does.

Speaker 3 (31:48):
Yeah, her boyfriend does too, I'm sure. Oh that's right,
Joe Alwin.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
All right.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
Coming up in your next Hollywood Outsider this morning around
eight point thirty, Roseanne Barr trying to do something nice
for all those people who lost their jobs after her
show was canceled. Up to date Shonty's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
And isn't it funny when you hear the name mister
Rogers immediately get a feeling if you were exposed to him,
or remember the show and of Comfort. PBS still reruns
you know it. So there are still generations of kids
that are like, oh, when you is an adult, when
you hear his name, you're.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Like, all right, And so the feeling to me is
like that everything's going to be okay. He was expert
at letting you know that even your smallest concerns are
real to you and real and it's going to be okay.
Here's why, even though some things are sad and hard.
So there is that documentary that is playing in some
select theaters already. Guys, that's killing me. I mean I
want to travel to go see it. Mister Rogers, a

(32:46):
documentary called Won't You Be My Neighbor?

Speaker 3 (32:49):
Okay, here's a little bit of it.

Speaker 6 (32:51):
Can take all of the elements that make good television
and do the exact opposite. You have mister Rogers neighborhood,
low production values, simple set, unlikely star yet it worked.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Show you stuff you've never seen before. It's a documentary to.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Be confused with the upcoming movie with Tom Hanks.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
Now that's different.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
That's about mister rogers friend.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
A reporter who got to know him, who got a
sign to cover him, who was didn't want to cover him,
and got to know him, became a friend and it
changed his life. So that's different, and that's Tom Hanks.
Ge't wait for that. Those are completely different projects. This
is a documentary playing now, but in promoting it, his
widow Joanne Rogers has been doing so media.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
Missus Rogers.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
You're right, she's been doing some media interviews, and she
sat with him, visited with Megan Kelly the other day
and they just talked about the movie and how much
she loves it. And then Megan's was asking, so, how
did he propose? And do you know this story has
not been told.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
I've never heard.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
How would you think he'd proposed, guys, mcpheely, somehow like
a song? What do you think? Okay?

Speaker 2 (34:00):
She revealed to Megan Kelly that this is when they
were separated. Actually, mister Rogers was in New York at
that time working as a producer's assistant.

Speaker 10 (34:08):
I was at Florida State and doing graduate work in
piano play, and he wrote me a letter. The second
year he was here, and my last year in Florida State,
he wrote me a letter proposing Mary.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
Oh wow, she a letter.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
How traditional and classic and beautiful is that? I actually
didn't expect that. I thought a little song, yeah, something something. Anyway,
I'm ready for it. And when it's in theaters everywhere,
won't you be my neighbor, We'll let you know.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
So you were thinking it was going to be coming,
like the trolley would bring it in, hang it out.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Eight seven seven three one zero four MS J. Letting
us know about your road trip games that you play
in the car.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
Hello, Kim, Hi, good morning, Good morning to you.

Speaker 9 (35:00):
I just got done with a road trip.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Cool. Well, where'd you go?

Speaker 9 (35:05):
We went up to Charlotte, North Carolina and it was
really wonderful to hear you guys on the radio up
there too.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
Well. Thanks, I'm glad you found us.

Speaker 9 (35:14):
It was like I brought home with me.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Sweet sweet, So tell me about your road trip games.

Speaker 9 (35:21):
Well, I have a grandson and technology the way it
is today, I wanted something that was not GPS based
or tablet based, so I got out an old atlas
and he's only nine. Yes, So the game was he
picked the state and off the top of my head

(35:42):
as I'm driving, I have to think of the name
of the city in that state.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
Nice.

Speaker 9 (35:46):
Yeah, so you'd have to find it and then try
to figure out how we had to get there.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
Wow. So he's quizzing you. He's involved in learning a map.

Speaker 9 (35:57):
And learning navigation skills to get himself from this place
to that place. You know, how many miles do we
have to the next town without technology?

Speaker 3 (36:08):
Nice?

Speaker 9 (36:09):
And that led to conversations about where we've you know,
where I've been in the United States, or memories of
home and things like that night.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
So did you ever break out Google Maps or ways?

Speaker 3 (36:24):
Just asking no.

Speaker 7 (36:31):
Cheating.

Speaker 2 (36:33):
I'm for hands free time, especially with kids. I really
am for it, so it's awesome. But I always had
difficulty with actual maps and I would get frustrated. So
the online navigation systems are just a godsend to me.
You know, Kim, your grandson is going to remember that
trip forever, that you did that with him forever.

Speaker 9 (36:54):
Yeah, yes, we had a blast.

Speaker 1 (36:56):
Thank you for the call, Kim. I mean, I think
that's it's probably a good idea to teach anybody that,
even though the technology exists.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
You to teach me this this summer, mrph.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
The only problem I ever had with that really was
I could never fold a paper man never ever, never ever.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Coming out Hollywood, I'll tell you why. Roseanne Barr is
talking about waving any future profits from a Roseanne spinoff.

Speaker 4 (37:23):
Judy's Hollywood Outside.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
See the Roseanne spinoff could happen.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
Apparently, talks are happening over at ABC about a spin
off of maybe Jackie, the sister of the main character Roseanne,
and then Darlene. That's the good one, but The rumor
now is that Roseanne may waive her profits for any
future spin off so that it can actually happen, because
she feels bad that two hundred plus people lost their

(37:47):
jobs when she tweeted and lost her shot.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
Right since she owns I guess all the characters, and yeah,
if they do a spinoff, she's gonna sit home and
make money. Yeah, so what you do is wave everything
and put it back to peace.

Speaker 2 (37:59):
She's considering giving up financial and creative participation, so we'll see.
It's just a rumor at this time.

Speaker 4 (38:05):
Murphy, Sam and Jody, you are a Hollywood elsliter.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
Hey, we have last minute Father's Day ideas for you
at merby Sam and Jody dot com. Sam added his
list yesterday. I add in mine this morning, which really
are kind of mine. Has three things. One that's very
simple and reasonably affordable. The middle one's going to take
a group of you getting together to buy for dad,
which is a you know, a turntable if he's into
final or kind of like the retro thing and his
old one doesn't work anymore, or maybe you never had one,

(38:33):
and then you know the price, Yeah, is the arcade game.
It's a pipe dream thing but I just thought it
was fun to in a add to the list because
it's all the retro games in one box, in the
arcade style box.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
Father's Day is that holiday opportunity to give something fun
like that. Moms get flowers and love and homemade cards
and that's awesome, but Dad usually gets fun stuff or
can get fun stuff.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
Oh and that's why I put the little simple thing
on the list of you know that those they're not
they're not slippers. They're the open toad, little soft you
know shoes.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
That have called them sliders is what the think about.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
But they're not the kind of to eat. They call
them sliders. I don't know why, but the you know,
favorite NFL teams are on them.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
Right, give him two kinds of sliders, make sliders and
give him slider slippers.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
There there go.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
We got food in there, some high and if I
had one more, which I really do like it because
it's simple for me personally, My tastes are simple. I
like retro t shirts. Oh yeah, it's just kind of
funny from you know, from dad's day and high school
or college whatever era that was. Things that he likes.
Retro t shirts are cool.

Speaker 2 (39:29):
And they're everywhere, so that's easy to get a good
one to throw on that list. Murph coming up next
eight seven seven three one zero four ms J. Let's
jump into the twenty four hour voicemail for another road
trip game.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
