Speaker 1 (00:07):
It's Friday, and the Friday before Father's Day. I want
to call it Father's Day weekend. Is that okay?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I think it is.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
I like the idea is for Mother's Day.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yes, it is, so welcome to Father's Day weekend, gentlemen,
well deserved.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
I think I would like to start today with an
odd Friday favorite? Can I do that?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Please?

Speaker 4 (00:24):
Murphy's Friday Favorite.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
This actually came from the Jimmy Kimmel Show. And I
didn't even know that any of this was going on.
Sam is the music news guy here, you probably knew
this already. So fans of the band Weezer had started it,
started petitioning the band to do a cover of Africa
by Toto. Don't know why, but there's just one and
it's like, come on, guys, you ought to try that,

(00:46):
and they were like no, no, no. And this went
on for a year until they finally decided to record
it last month and they released it and now it's
hit the charts. I mean, it's the cover version of
Africa's doing quite well.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Well, we need to hear that then.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yeah, well, so they performed it last night on Jimmy Kimmel.
I'm gonna get to the middle of the song, you know,
so that you can hear it. It's this is crazy.
This is not what you would think Weezer would sound like.
But this is them live on Jimmy Kimmel. That's Wheezer.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
So they just sayed really true to the song and
didn't moser it up.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
They were singing it live.

Speaker 6 (01:34):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
The lead singer of Weezer obviously doesn't sound like the
original lead singer of Toto. But I mean musically, the
drum licks, all those things that the song is so
famous for. They nailed the spot off man. That sounds good.
Then they went into Buddy Holly right after. Oh yes,
they seem.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
The less longly thoso song that Tommy.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
The solo voices is a little bit different, but it's
pretty cool. So is Home Run on Jimmy Kimmelive. My
Friday favorite Wheezer doing their cover of Toto's Africa.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Murphy Salm and Jody All right, coming up, guys, big day,
We're gonna introduce you to the new member of the
Murphy Sam and Jody family.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
Is he four legged?

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Ah?

Speaker 6 (02:16):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Not this time?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Coming up next to your family friendly box office review,
A sequel fourteen years in the making.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
New movies this week.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Murphy Salm and Jody Famlin Friendly box office Review. All right, guys,
families are going to be going to the movies together
this weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Here's why.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Fourteen years in the making a sequel, we've been wanting
The Incredibles too.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
You have.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Okay, everybody's back, Drag t Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson,
Mister Incredible has left to care for Jack Jack while
his wife is out saving the world.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
So it's kind of a.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Role reversal thing, and critics love it and say there's
even more action and excitement this time. The only tiki
taki thing from critics and I would have to agree
is that there's not enough time of the husband and
wife together on screen. And we love that chemistry and banter.
But what I love about we had to wait for
so long. I wanted a second one right away, and

(03:18):
I thought it wasn't ever going to happen. Well, this
sequel takes place just a few months after the original,
so Jack Jack's still little, and that's.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
What we wanted. So thank you Hollywood and Pixar for that.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
I cannot wait to see Frozone again. And Edna mode
right to.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Make time to see that this weekend. I would love it.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Trying to work it out Father's Day Daddy. I'm trying
to work it out because we have a full schedule.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I think I can think of one that we might
have a kid who works there. Okay. We also have
an action comedy called Tag.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Tell me what's going on here? Our group of friends
has been playing the same game of tag for thirty years, for.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
The entire month of May every year we played Tag.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
What do you recognize any of these voices? That's Ed Helms?
You know him from Hangover. Just hold on to your
hats boys. John Hamm is in this movie. Well you
guys see Incredibles. Might have to go see John Hamm,
Jeremy Renner. It's an action comedy about a small group
of former classmates who do this annual game of tag
that requires some travel around the country. And this is

(04:21):
based on a Wall Street journal story because these people really,
this really happened.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
It's based on real events.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Watching the trailer for this, it almost looks like a
Hangover type movie.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
I know and inter Ed Helms. We also have the
crime drama Superfly.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Welcome to Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
You've got everything you could have a cul shit style
and of course music.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
All right.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
This is a take on the original Superfly from many.
It's another take on Superfly if you will, crime drama, Uh.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
The Incredibles too, Rated PG. Superfly and Tag are both rated.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
R Family Friendly Box Office Review.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
So Murphy Savy Jodi is now a family of five
instead of four, and we'll get you. We'll introduce you
to number five next.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Hey, guys, now when we go out to lunch or dinner,
we can now again say party of five. Okay, So Murphy,
Sam Jody, Producer Bailey and introducing family.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
No, Sir, Producer Chad Chad, So, how do you like
it here?

Speaker 1 (05:30):
I like it so far.

Speaker 7 (05:31):
Hopefully I'm not disappointing, not.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
At all, of course not.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
It's like a you know, it's it's just a family.
We hang out and have fun. And so if you
think that you're having fun with us right now, then
we're having fun with you.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Okay, let's get to know ya. I mean, producer Bailey
tells me you are a basketball fanatic.

Speaker 7 (05:50):
I was really enjoying the finals, and I wasn't rooting
for any team in particular, but I definitely wanted one
team to steal a game.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
So you get to taco from Did you go out
and get your taco? I did? Did you get more
than one?

Speaker 8 (06:04):
I definitely got more than one?

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
How did you get because it was one taco? Did
you hit multiple locations?

Speaker 7 (06:09):
Multiple locations? I actually mapped out, you know, where's the
closest one. If I got on the interstate, what's the
best route to get off and on? I spent about
an hour yesterday getting five tacos?

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Oh my god?

Speaker 5 (06:21):
Location?

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Hey, so see this is where we make a note
right here. Success number one. Chad is good at strategy.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Right yeah, you so are. I have to tell you this.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
A dear friend of mine is in Disney right now
with her family, and she posted yesterday waiting in line,
and Ben is about to explode. There's some NBA players
in line with us. I have no clue who they are,
but Ben is freaking out. Apparently they played for the
Bulls and the Lakers. His vacation has been made. Wow,
that's my friend. No, no, okay.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Wait, they were in line at Taco Bell to get
a free taco Disney. Oh Disney, I'm misunderstood, Jody.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
Thank you for Claire's looking for free time.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Was just I thought that was kind an interesting Bawlers
don't need free stuff.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
In fact, they all get they get free stuff constantly.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
By the way, Chad has an interesting past or a
history work history. He actually was a game tester for EA.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yes, what did you mean you sit down played and
tested video games?

Speaker 5 (07:15):
That's right.

Speaker 7 (07:16):
Yeah, it's a lot less glamorous than it sounds, but
you do basically play video games all day.

Speaker 8 (07:21):
It's a lot of paperwork.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
And test then, meaning you go back and write down
this is this is what's wrong, Here's where I had
a problem.

Speaker 7 (07:27):
This could be improved. You just try to break the
game every single day. It's just trying to find out
what the developer screwed up on. And then okay, cool,
were you a game breaker?

Speaker 5 (07:37):
I was about average?

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Okay, well, this is definitely could favorite game that you
reviewed or played Madden.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Very cool, that's very cool.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Well welcome Chad.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Cool text eight seven seven three one oh four six
seven five With this this week, wrapping it up road
trip games, you play in the car with the family. Mary,
you are next.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Happy Father's Day weekend. And I'm not saying that just
for me or for Sam we're just saying it for
for everybody.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
WEP.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
It's a great weekend for you.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Yes, you and the family loved hearing from you this week.
On road trip games, it's that time of the year.
Get in the car and make it quality time, not
just screen time for those in the back seat. Eight
seven seven three one zero four MSJ, You've got a
game for us, Mary.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
There's one that we always play. It's an alphabet game. Yeah.
It's the name of a person, an animal, and a location,
generally a state or country. But if the kids are little,
we let them right, you know, kind of go with
whatever they know. So it would be like, for example,

(08:51):
Q would the Quinn took a quail to Quebec?

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Oh like it.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
You have to come up with all three for whatever
the letter is.

Speaker 6 (09:01):
Oh cool, Right, you go to alphabet one by one
and each kid gets their turn.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
Yeah you know, okay, So Sam, you want to go
do suh?

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Sam took a snake to Sicily.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Not always have to be a snake, of course, there
you go, easy, use that?

Speaker 4 (09:20):
Cool?

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Well, Mary, your name starts with an am, so you
go with M.

Speaker 6 (09:23):
I go, Mary took a malamute malamute.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Wow, are you a teacher.

Speaker 6 (09:35):
No, no, I'm a bus ride. Good Mary to a
malumute to Manitoba.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
Wow, Wow, you're rich.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
I don't know if I could play with you. Man,
you are serious about the alphabet game. I like this one.
We are going to start doing this one around here.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
We board.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
I thank you, Mary, appreciate the call. Actually to google that, Melanie.
It's a dog, yes, no, no.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Yeah, I knew it. But then again I kept hearing.
I kept seeing like something odd, something weird.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Yeah, oh, man, that's a fun one because it seems
a little bit more next level, right hearing from you.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
And give you a chance to use the famous Alaskan malamute.
I love that.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Eight seven seven three one zero four ms J give
us a call anytime.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Coming up next with Murphy, Sam and Jody.

Speaker 5 (10:31):
I've got the latest on my stolen information on my
debit card.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Sam got scam.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
I think I now know through some investigation how it happened.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
It's Father's Day weekend. Daddy is all right, so go
get gift ideas approved by Murphy and Sam, probably wanted
by Murphy and Sam and snacky daddy recipes because even
little kids can throw together snack mixes. Murphy Samanjody dot com.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
Uh, you know, this week we were talking about how
I got my identity taken away my debit card, Yes,
same emotion, got swiped and somebody bought something in my
name online, a big, really nice laptop. Yeah, a nice laptop,
but I really would like I have to at least
give them that credit, you know. Uh, and Murphy, you
had mentioned a new thing that you have heard going
around where even if you have the chip on your card,

(11:19):
that the the bad guys are getting inventive and they're
actually able to scam.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
The chips, well, not the chips, but the swipes.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
The swipes.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Yeah, yeah, I mean it's the swiping machine. The chip
is still a pretty tough nut to crack, although I'm
sure their criminals are working on it.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
Well, I am here to tell you they figured it out.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
That's how they did it.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
Coincidentally, I saw a story from the Better Business Bureau.
They're warning everybody about a new thing called shimming okay,
not skimming, shimming okay. And what they do is it's
about it. It's as thin as a card and they
slip it in the card reader there, so that it
can sitting on top. It's inside so you can read
whatever is on the card. Now, if you take your
card and you slide it in, you know for a

(12:02):
chip ins, and you find it the sure is tight.
It's sure is thick. They're saying that's the number one giveaway.
If you slide it in there and it feels too
tight to get in, it's possible that somebody put the
shimming card in there, but.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
The whole card has to be covered for that to happen.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yes, you covered the whole card have to so.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Without getting too technical, the chip reader that you're using
it most retail outlets where they've converted and your card
doesn't go all the way in, right, it's just enough
to read the chip. I don't think that what you're
talking about is that. But what they're sticking inside of
like gas pumps and those things where your card goes
all the way in, I think is.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
What it's a paper thin card size.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Can you go back in your memory to when you
put your card all the way in.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
When I read this, I started thinking, okay, sure, stick
it in somewhere where it was tight.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
But you don't think about it.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
No, I don't.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Okay, and that you know what, That's what the cashier
was telling me yesterday. Remember I was telling you about
the cashier that was talking about something small that could
be put inside that That is it, and that's crazy.
Aren't you glad though you at least found out how
it happened? Yeah, and I'm glad you told me because
you know I'm going to be one not only shaking
the slot now I'm also going to be is this thing.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Magnifying glass glass lights.

Speaker 5 (13:09):
I know you, Murphy, You're going to share it with
everybody too. Hey, watch out that you don't get shimmed.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
That's right coming out.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
You're a Hollywood Good times in Hollywood for Jeff Goldbloom
and American Horror Story.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Big announcement from Ryan Murphy on this one. We have
them for you.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
Next Jody's Hollywood outside dam.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
You can help me with this one because I've never
been an American Horror Story port person, even though Marik
Springfield was in an episode as I'm Creepy Priest or
something recently. Okay, yeah, Season eight is coming soon American
Horror Story.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Did you hear the good news about it?

Speaker 3 (13:46):
I don't know what this means, but it's going to
be a crossover between season one, which was Murder House.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
Ryan Murphy said they were going to do it on
season nine, but then yesterday he texted or tweeted, Hey,
I'm going to do it in season eight. Right.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
So Cross and Murder House are two of the here
at two of the seasons season one and season three
Covin and.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
So they're going to cross over somehow. So you're gonna
get some of the characters returning from Murder House and
from Coven.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Would that be Lady Gaga? No, she was Hotel, She
was neither one of those. Okay, so it's season eight
of America is.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
Going to be in there.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
I know, Jessica Lang, Sarah Paulson, Oh my gosh. Okay,
So season eight of American Horror Story, look for it.
According to Ryan Murphy, later this year on FBAX.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
We're bringing Joan Collins in somehow. I'm scared of that
as her Dynasty character. No, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
I also have other really cool news to me in Hollywood.
Jeff Goldbloom got his star on the Hollywood Walk of
Fame yesterday, and his next movie, Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom,
comes out next week.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
Is he the only one that's been in all the
Jurassic Park movies.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Uh Dinosaurs, But yes, I think that. I think so.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Isn't Jeff Goldbloom like one of the most quietly successful
people in Hollywood And he's worked like a gazillion dollars.

Speaker 5 (15:03):
Because all the movies he has been in Royalteas are
been like monster move movies that have made a lot.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Yes, exactly, Okay.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
I also want to tell you that the four was
back on Fox last night, Battle First Stardom. This is
the show with judges, Sean Diddy, Combs, DJ Khaled, Meghan
Trainer and Fergie. Ferg is the host, okay, and it's
these battles and there are two new people okay this week,
and then two original members.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
That's how it quickly it changed for.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
The cast members. Every week have the big battle and.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
It's all genres of music. One of the original members
he's still there. Ex boy band guy from England. He's
a fan favorite. His name is James Graham. He kept
his seat last night. If you missed it and you
want to catch up today, you can get it on
demand today on the Fox app.

Speaker 5 (15:49):
And of course it's every Thursday night.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
On Fox coming up in your next Hollywood outside of
this morning around seven fifty five. We're gonna get you
ready for The Incredibles too at the box office this
weekend because it's huge. Expect the megaplexus to be busy
up to date with Jody's Hollywood outsider.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Father's Day weekend has a head, and so a little
Father's Day Daddy's Day fun is what we're gonna do now,
you know, Producer Bailey kind of leaves the fun and
games around here.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Yeah, play along with us in the car, right, Are
we playing father Trivia?

Speaker 1 (16:21):
Yeah? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (16:22):
Since Father's Day is this weekend, I figured we'd play
a game that I like to call Who's Your Daddy?

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Okay, it seems to be my ringtone whenever Jody would
call me, just so you know.

Speaker 8 (16:35):
So here's the here's the point of this game. I'm
gonna give you a TV show, and in that TV
show there is a dad. I want you to tell
me what that dad does occupation exactly.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Bailey, You're sneaky. This is horrid.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Okay, it's tricky.

Speaker 8 (16:52):
Okay. Yeah, So we're gonna we're actually gonna start with
something a little bit easy. Okay. So first one you're Murphy.
I guess you're up first, or whoever can answer first.
The Andy Griffith Show had Andy Taylor in it. What
was he?

Speaker 1 (17:10):
He was a sheriff? Thank you, Murphy.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
I did not remember that because I didn't watch that show.
I didn't watch that show.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
They were all I mean, Barney and Andy were That's
all I remember.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
All right, next question.

Speaker 8 (17:29):
Okay, so the next one in full House had a
dad named Danny Tanner.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (17:35):
Or was he?

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (17:37):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (17:39):
He was a TV anchor or something.

Speaker 8 (17:42):
I think that's pretty close. He was a morning show.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
That's right, Jody.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
He was very good show.

Speaker 8 (17:49):
Whatever happened to you?

Speaker 3 (17:51):
He had the show with the girl who was married
Uncle Jesse, I got it. Okay, just like Fuller House, Yes, Sam,
keeping it cool?

Speaker 8 (18:00):
Okay, this one, I'm sure somebody's gonna know this one.
On the Sopranos there was Tony Soprano. Yeah, what did
he do? This is a mob boss? Well what did
he do?

Speaker 2 (18:12):
And he was in waste management?

Speaker 1 (18:14):
There you go, that's right.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Yeah, baby, bring it.

Speaker 5 (18:19):
On the whack people.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
No, no, he was in waste management.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Oh man, cool?

Speaker 6 (18:26):
All right?

Speaker 8 (18:27):
On happy Days? You can remember back to that one.
Come on Sam Cunningham.

Speaker 5 (18:31):
Oh I know this one. He ran a hardware store,
you got it?

Speaker 4 (18:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Wow, that's awesome.

Speaker 9 (18:37):
Just before we get started, right, since there's so many
of you and just wanted me, I let to warm
up a little bit.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Okay, So I'm gonna be right back as soon as
I finished warming up.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Oh man, I was gonna say all trash bags, but
that was in commercials.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
Yeah, Bailey, thank you.

Speaker 6 (18:52):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Coming up next though, Bailey's got something special for you guys.
Since you are both dads, Murphy and Sam, you take
on each other and lightning round of sorts.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Next, it's Father's.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
Day weekend and it's a funny Games Friday, So producer
Bailey and I love this idea. It wants Murphy and
Sam to take on one another, the daddy battle. Okay,
ready for what are we talking about?

Speaker 1 (19:19):
TV dads? We're going in a different direction.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Thank you for letting me play that one.

Speaker 8 (19:23):
Yeah, we're going with another type of father, a founding father.
All right, but I'm on Yeah, good luck with these
history ones.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
So we're gonna do as not playing this one.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
That's true.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
You want to pick a little Okay, everybody knows Abraham
Lincoln was the first president.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
That's right. Stop.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Jody is actually much better at remembering things than me.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
So okay, so I'm not playing this one.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (19:48):
Here's how this is going to work. I'm going to
give you a last name, and I want you to
give me the first name of the founding father.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
These they're all presidents, right.

Speaker 8 (19:57):
Well some of them found the people who are the
first things around doable. We just blurted out that bled out. Yeah,
first first one to get it. I guess it. All right, Hamilton,
Alexander Murphy, there you go, baby.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Jefferson Thomas.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
Planned to play at some point.

Speaker 10 (20:21):
Wake up, okay, Henry Thomas, No, no, oh, William, Henry Harrison.

Speaker 8 (20:34):
That was Patrick.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
Oh, history teachers everywhere I know. Okay, let's continue, Okay, Payne.

Speaker 11 (20:43):
Thomas, right there, Well done, guys, Franklin, Benjamin, Yes, Monroe, James, Okay, Murphy, Adams.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
John or Samuel? Was it was it?

Speaker 2 (21:00):
John?

Speaker 1 (21:00):
It was John?

Speaker 8 (21:01):
Sorry?

Speaker 5 (21:01):
Sam?

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Yeah, your friends Samuel Adams and Stella Artois prehistorical figures, Washington,
George Okay, alright, coffee in my mouth? Ya true?

Speaker 8 (21:12):
Good job Sam, Okay, okay, and this is the last one. Okay,
all right, All right, Lincoln.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
I think Murphy came in one millisecond fast over caffeinated
this morning.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
One wow, Wow, Sam, you need some caffeine. Happy father coming.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Up next with Murphy, Sam and Josie.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Let's continue the Father's Day celebration.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
Okay, we get presents next.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Exactly presents, but for all dads, something special for all
daddies next, Father's Day weekend, not just day on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
But Murphy and Sam are making it Father's Day weekend.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
And right, but you know that We've got a lot
of family business attend to on Saturday, so I'm not
taking the day finess tonight.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
We have a full weekend except Sunday is going to
be whatever you want.

Speaker 5 (22:04):
I have family business Saturday too, with the birthday party
for the twins.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Excellent. You're calling it a party now, Sam, are you
just taking them?

Speaker 5 (22:10):
Sorry? Yeah, that's true. When you're talking to those kids,
you got to you gotta be careful it out exactly
the gathering.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
I just want to do a little reminder here that
there are some Father's Day gift ideas from you guys,
Murphy and Sam on our website, just thought starters for you,
and also snacky daddy recipes, but mainly, if you're lucky
enough to still have your dad in your life, remember
him do something that you know he would like, even
if it's just a phone call, a quick visit. I

(22:39):
don't think that you know. I've said this before, and
I try to articulate it. I don't think you guys
know how important you are to your children. It's almost
hard for me to explain. And the way I can
do that is to say that your dads are kings.
You know, mom. All the abuse is heaped on the mother.
It feels like at times, mom worries about lunch boxes

(23:01):
and clean socks and being on time and all that stuff,
and you have these long days and then that comes
home and they're.

Speaker 5 (23:07):
Like, Daddy, I'm starting to realize that. I think as
I get older and the kids get older, I didn't
realize that when they were younger, but now I see
the way they turned down they see you.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
There's a mistique. There's a mistique about it.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
As children, you really long for that attention, praise, approval
of that father figure in your life, and it is
so important that it's hard for me to articulate.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Yeah, well, it's different at different ages for them. Sure,
because what I of course I missed this part because
I miss when Taylor and Phoebe were younger and little
but man walking inside and they were like off the
charts excited whenever Daddy got home. And you know, I
mean that's and that's a different, you know thing as
they start to grow and Daddy becomes I guess the
protector and the advisor on some things. And that's what
I'm seeing later now that they're in there. Well, Phoebe's

(23:57):
just in her teen years, but you know Taylor is
and so the discussions in the way that they look,
even my mood and things, I can see how it
impacts them.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
So, yes, you are much more powerful presence than you realize.
Every little thing you do and say has more weight
than you realize. And Murphy, you need to know. Maybe
they don't run and scream when you show up, but
I can tell you even yesterday afternoon late Taylor thought
she heard you come in, and she came into the
live room. Is that here, No, that was sletting the
dog in, and she was like, happy Father's Day.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
Yeah, Sam has music.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
News all right, James Cordon doing carpool karaoke from England
next week, and who's going to be on there with
him probably the biggest carpool karaoke ever.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
Sam's Got Music News next week.

Speaker 5 (24:45):
James Carlic Cordon, James Gordon, The Late Late Show. He's
taking the whole show over to England for a week
of shows.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
His home, original home, and since.

Speaker 5 (24:53):
He knows everybody in England, he'll probably have everybody on
the show. But he's also doing a carpool karaoke next week. Yes,
and he's going to be doing it with I don't
think you can get bigger than I think.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
I guess, is it? Paul McCartney, what would.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
You say the biggest? That's one of the biggest, because
he's already had Adele and he's had ed Sheard.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
That is JYI normous.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
Can you imagine I would be ridiculously intimidated? Is the
wrong word nervous?

Speaker 11 (25:26):
Though?

Speaker 1 (25:26):
If it's Sir Paul McCartney sitting next to me, speechless.

Speaker 5 (25:30):
And will and what they're doing is they're driving around Liverpool.
It's actually gonna be in Liverpool and Paul's going to
be taking into places that were Beatles history in his history,
and oh my god, of course, in addition to covering
Paul songs, that band that he was in, they're going
to do some of their songs too.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
That one's going to break the internet next week.

Speaker 5 (25:51):
So awesome next week, next week. I don't know the
day yet, but it is gonna be next week while
he's over there. Man, wouldn't be so cool if they
pull up and Ringo got into I'm just saying, I
don't work with the show. I have no insight. I'm
just saying that would be really cool.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
That would be great if we Ringo popped up in
the back seat for some reason to sing along. I
get by with a little help from my friends. Yes, Anyway,
if I were a writer for the show, that's what
I would be writing right now.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
How can we make it bigger? Well, here's a way
to do it. I'm moving on to a little country
music fun here. Kenny Chesney's got a new album coming
out in July. And if you've paid attention to Kenny
over the past year or so, you know Hurricane Irma
hitting in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico and all that.

(26:37):
He's done a lot of help, a lot of stuff
to get people back on their feet. With aid and
also with the Jets getting people in and out of
the right. His new album that comes out July twenty seventh,
is twenty seven, is called Songs for the Saints, and
he's now said that when it comes out, every penny
that he makes off that album is going to go
to relief for IRMA. It's not like a portion of

(26:58):
the proceeds or just after I cover my expenses, he says,
everything is going to cover IRMA victims in down.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Obviously means a lot to him. That's a really lovely
thing to do.

Speaker 5 (27:07):
By the way, the album is also going to have
Jimmy Buffett on it, Ziggy Marley and a couple other
folks sitting in for certain songs, so it's gonna be fun.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
Murphy dam and Jody Music News.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
All right, Sam, it's a big weekend for you.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
You're teenagers, well mate, part and Maddy turned thirteen yesterday.
You're twins whens, yes, and so you have them this
weekend Father's Day and for a birthday.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
Little celebration to do gathering and it is Father's Day,
so we kind of wrap everything up together.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Yeah, So I know you've kind of been struggling with
keeping it even, Stephen, because gift wise, Maddie, let's do
a long list.

Speaker 5 (27:40):
Yeah, Maddie has me a list of things she wants.
And when Parker says.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
I don't know, I just want one thing, a gift card, Yeah,
my cousin Candace, who is one of my favorite people
on the planet, has some advice for you.

Speaker 12 (27:51):
Hey, Candace, Hey, good morning.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
Okay, so you're gonna help me keep it even Steven morning.
I'm gonna try.

Speaker 12 (27:57):
I'm gonna try. I was kind of giggling the other
day because my son, who will be also thirteen this year,
is a hardcore PS four gamer, and that's all he
ever wants, like birthdays, you know, allowance. You know, I
think I'm a major stockholder in Sony at this point
because that's all.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
He ever want.

Speaker 5 (28:13):
And that's and that's the one gift Parker wants, a
fifty dollars PlayStation gift card.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Right, well, played to right? Okay?

Speaker 12 (28:19):
Well, And I think Jody was saying that you could
add snacks or something with that, like really cool gamer snacks,
stuff you can eat well handed, you know, beef jerky.
Nothing's going to get the control of too crazy. Nothing
with a fork, you know, put a cool gamers together
is good.

Speaker 5 (28:31):
And everybody knows the number one gamer snack is Mountain dew.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Really well, yeah, keeps them going.

Speaker 6 (28:37):
If you're a purist.

Speaker 12 (28:38):
But also, you know, game stop is always good because
there's always different kinds of t shirts and cool socks
and wallets and key changs like his favorite games and characters.
And I mean, I know there's a lot of Overwatch
and Fortnite going on at my house, which is probably similar,
I would imagine.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
Yeah, I could probably give him like an Overwatch poster,
one of those little little dolls for Overwatch he loves.

Speaker 6 (28:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
See, that's that's how you wow him. He's expecting the
card because you told him.

Speaker 12 (29:02):
And even if he wants any of the PlayStation accessories,
if you have some money, burn a hole in your wallet,
camera the PlayStation. You know, the others, like a controller
with his favorite game, like my son has a Call
of Duty controller.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Yeah, you can spend a month salary.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
That Sam's identity sort of got still his credit card
information got stolen this week.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
Yeah, you take checks fleet.

Speaker 6 (29:27):
Well.

Speaker 12 (29:27):
Another cool thing my son got as a birthday present
was it was a game. It was called Exploding Kittens
and uh what, Sam Man.

Speaker 5 (29:37):
I tell you what Exploding Kittens. He's played that before
and he likes it. The throaty. There are no kids involved.
It's just the name of the game.

Speaker 12 (29:44):
It's just the name of the game. I knew Jody
was gonna be a little upset, but it's okay. I mean,
you can distract the cat with a laser pointer card,
or you can get a cat sandwich card. There's all
kinds of little crazy things involved.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Want you saved our day, his the twins birthday.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
At least I know what Fortnite is now, because you know,
for me, that was something we did in the backyard
on a special evening.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
And all right, good to hear from you. I love you, you.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
Love you to coming out.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
You're Hollywood, say why you can expect it to be
busy at the movies this weekend.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Jody's Hollywood outsider.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Before we got to Incredibles Too, I want to tell
you that Barry Manilow has been hospitalized for an infection
right as his you know, Vegas residency was about to
kick off this weekend, none other leg of it. He
was sold out for this weekend in Vegas, and he's
aggravated about it his His I guess message to the
world in social media was I can't believe this.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
We're all ready to go.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
But he's got like a bronchial infection with that thank you,
you're right, can't smile about you, can't sing with.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
That okay song? He could write any song? Are you
kid kidding me? Okay?

Speaker 3 (30:56):
This weekend, it's a big deal of the box office,
not just because we wait fourteen years for Incredibles too,
but because they're expecting it to be one of the
biggest animated movie openings.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
Ever, how they.

Speaker 9 (31:08):
Bring supers back into the sunlight. We need to change
people's perceptions about superheroes.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
And last the Girl is our best play.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
I cannot wait. So here's what you need to know.
Everybody's back, and you don't have to. It's not fourteen
years after the family first got together and you know,
started using your powers. This movie, this sequel, takes place
a few months after the first movie, so yay Jack
Jack is still little and realizing he's got powers and

(31:38):
stuff like that. Okay, And all the projections are that
it's going to make one hundred and fifty million this weekend,
and that's bigger than any other animated movie. The top
animated movie right now is Finding Dory at one thirty
million or something like that, so it's going to be
huge at least this weekend. Expected to be busy with families.
That's what's great about it. Almost every age can and
will enjoy this movie. PG next weekend at the box office,

(32:00):
what do we get another summer big one Jurassic World
following Kingdom, So it is a.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Big summer at the box office.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
A lot of fun family movies.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Right, so Incredibles too. Now.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
We also have an action comedy today called Tag and
Superfly opened earlier this week.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
Tag and Superfly, both rated, are for this weekend.

Speaker 4 (32:22):
Murphy, Sam and Jody, you are Hollywood.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
Your next Outsider is on the way this morning at
eight thirty. It's Father's Day weekend. Daddy is all right,
So go get gift ideas approved by Murphy and Sam,
probably wanted by Murphy and Sam. And snacky daddy recipes
because even little kids can throw together snack mixes. Murphy,
Samanjody dot com.

Speaker 5 (32:46):
Uh, you know this week we were talking about how
I got my identity taken away my debit card. Yes, Sam,
chem got swiped and somebody bought something in my name online, a.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Big, really nice laptop.

Speaker 5 (32:56):
Yeah, a nice laptop that I really would like. I
have to at least give them that credit, you know.
And Murphy, you had mentioned a new thing that you
have heard going around where even if you have the
chip on your card, that the the bad guys are
getting inventive and they're actually able to scam the chips.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Well, not the chips, but the swipes.

Speaker 5 (33:18):
The swipes.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
Yeah, I mean it's the swiping machine. The chip is
still a pretty tough nut to crack, although I'm sure
their criminals are working on it.

Speaker 5 (33:25):
Well, I am here to tell you they figured it out.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
That's how they did it.

Speaker 5 (33:29):
Coincidentally, I saw a story from the Better Business Bureau.
They're warning everybody about a new thing called shimming, Okay,
not skimming, shimming. And what they do is it's about
it's as thin as a card, and they slip it
in the card reader there so that it can sitting
on top. It's inside so you can read whatever is
on the card. Now, if you take your card and

(33:49):
you slide it in, you know for a chip inside,
and you find it, this sure is tight, it's sure
is thick. They're saying that's the number one giveaway. If
you slide it in there and it feels too tight
to get in, it's possible that somebody put the shimming
card in there.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
But the whole card has to be covered for that
to happen.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Yes, covered, the whole card have to so.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
Without getting too technical, the chip reader that you're using
it most retail outlets where they've converted and your card
doesn't go all the way in. It's just enough to
read the chip. I don't think that what you're talking
about is that. But what they're sticking inside of like
gas pumps and those things where your card goes all
the way in, I think is what.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
It's a paper thin card size.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
Can you go back in your memory to when you
put your card.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
All the way in?

Speaker 5 (34:33):
When I read this, I started thinking, okay, sure, stick
it in somewhere where.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
It was tight, but you don't think about it now.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
Okay, that's and that you know what, that's what the
cashier was telling me yesterday. Remember I was telling you
about the cashier that was talking about something small that
could be put inside that That is it, and that's crazy.
Aren't you glad that you at least found out how
it happened. Yeah, and I'm glad you told me because
you know I'm going to be one not only shaking
the slot now I'm also going to be is this.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Thing Magnus glass light.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
I don't know you, Murphy, You're going to with everybody too. Hey,
watch out that you don't get shimmed.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
That's right coming out, Judy, You're Hollywood finally a superhero movie.
Everybody in the family wants to see Incredibles Too.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Gets you ready for it?

Speaker 4 (35:14):
Next, Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
It's a sequel fourteen years in the making.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
I hope I see somebody dressed up as mister Incredible
and Alasta Girl in the theater. I'm gonna sit by you, Oh,
Sam Murphy, the Incredibles Too.

Speaker 9 (35:28):
Help me bring supers back into the sunlight. We need
to change people's perceptions about superheroes.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
And Last Girl is our best play.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
One of the most loved Pixar movies of all time.
We finally got the sequel and you don't have to
wait fourteen years on this family meaning it picks up
really right where the original movie left off.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
This one.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
This time it's Elasta Girls turned to shine well with
mister Incredible at home trying to manage all of that.
Expected to be number one if you need if you
definitely want to bring your family, get dig into getting
your tickets now.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
The Incredibles too is rated Peach.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
Up to date with Judy's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (36:10):
You know, a sun Day is not just Father's Day
this year, this week it is at our house well, idiots,
but it's something else. It's National Eat your veggiees Day.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Oh daddy's want to eat ribs and steaks on Father's Day?

Speaker 5 (36:21):
Yeah you have corn on the side, you know? Or yeah, good.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
Look this works out for me because if Jodie can
tell you, I'm, you know, six weeks into this diet
now and I'm balancing things out and so veggies are
an important part of it. So yeah, bringing up what's
your favorite veggie? Murphy, I don't know that I have
any one favorite, but I mean, I'm I actually love
broccoli more than I used to. Green beans. Actually, you
know what, I think, lima beans may be my favorite.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
I'm glad you mentioned broccoli because the folks a green giant.
Oh yeah, I did a national survey and they found
that about half of Americans their favorite vegetables broccoli half
really yeah, that's not with cheese on it, that's just broccoli.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Well mine might be with butter and salt. Oh yeah,
but still.

Speaker 5 (37:04):
Corn came in second, all the varieties of corn cream,
yellow shoe peg for Dan not Dan. Yeah, Mexic horn,
don't forget that.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
Summer means red trip and car you know, car fun,
hopefully car fun. So a lot of really great ideas
came out of this week. Suggestions on games you can play,
something you can do where you can actually put the
screen down, you know what I mean? Yeah, and have
fun together as a family. And so we've got a
few in our twenty four our voicemail.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
We wanted to check Murphy Salmon, Judy twenty four hour boys.

Speaker 13 (37:38):
Now, Hi, this is Lisa.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
Hey, Lisa just wanted to chime in on.

Speaker 13 (37:43):
The car games for vacations. It's called twenty questions? Who
am I one of the people in the car. They
think of a character, a person, antibody, living or dead,
and everybody gets a chance to question on twenty questions
ap to who it is. Whoever figures it out, they're

(38:04):
the next person to start the game. Y'all, have a
good time. Thank you, love the show.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
Bye, Thank you, Lisa. That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
That's fun. So you could do something like hasn't mansion
in Memphis was born in Tupelo?

Speaker 2 (38:15):
Elvis? I was thinking Elvis too sweet. Oh my gosh,
we are so in together.

Speaker 5 (38:22):
There we go.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
Well, great suggestion, Lisa, thank you for leaving that on
the voice. Now, thank you very much, call us anytime
eight seven seven, three one oh four MSJW much you
to come hang out with us after the show. Today, Murphy,
Sam and Jody podcast exclusively online and we do a
brand new episode every single day. Earlier today Sam figured
out how his credit card info got stolen.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
Yeh yeah, thanks Sam for scaring Murphy. I can't charge
anything this weekend.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
So what exactly is shimming anyway? And a couple of
ways you actually can prevent it and avoid it all together.
We'll do that in the podcast.
