some family members for his birthday.

Yeah, Sammy, Yeah, in frisbee football boomerang. We're outside throwing stuff.
And I don't really care for boomerangs because they never
do seem to work, and it's it frustrates throwing the
way I've tried, and it frustrates me because it doesn't work,
because it's like it's a boomerang. It's supposed to work.
It's all on the flick of the wrist. Yeah, but
you know you threw it this way, you're gonna throw

So are you like a master boomerang thrower?

No, I'm not. I've lost my share of boomerangs. You know,
the neighbors are. I throw it so hard it goes
back where it comes back to me right and then
goes in the neighbor's yard behind me.

I think it was one of my other sons, Will said,
let Daddy throw the boomerang, and it's like all right,
So I throw it one throw and it goes and
lands on top of their two story townhouse. Oh so,
I mean there's no way to get it up for
a storm, right, So it's like, okay, boomerang. You know,
everybody's face goes boomerangs over, so we how.

Much it's on top of there are the neighbors.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
No, Sammy's what's like a three or four townhouses together,
So it's just up there.

Oh, somebody can go up there and get it.

There's no way to get up there. Well, a long
one of those long fire type ladder ladder.

that flight school. Okay, So it's filming now in San Diego,

which means that Tom Cruise's character Maverick will be back
at you know, at that same school as as an instructor,
and so the storyline. Look, everything's kind of quiet on
the storyline. That's what you can't find out, but which
we have heard that it's going to be how his
life has changed since then. They're not going to try
to pick right up because they can't. Too much time

is the later. But how what's his life like? Now?
Maybe you'll get some flashbacks. Remember in the first movie
he was dealing with the memory and the death of
his father. Well, now he's gonna still be dealing with
the death of Goose. He just is his best friend, and.

They're gonna be like Goose ghosts.

You know.

Well, I'll tell you the one Goose thing, but first
expect him to do any stunts that are needed for Maverick.
He's going to do them. Yeah, I do know this.

superstar of the movie, the F fourteens. They don't fly
those anymore, So no F fourteens. It'll be F eighteens

Didn't know this, but Charleston doesn't allow food trucks on
the street. So what he's doing is he's building this
whole park where they can have a big bar and
it opens out onto a big area they view. They
have a stage for bands, and so then the trucks
can all gather. Trucks can come, they got hookups, everybody
can sell and then wow, that would be nice.

Look for that later on this summer. They are working
on it right now. Kentucky Fried Chicken. You've seen the
Kentucky Fried Chickens doing this pickle batter thing, right.

Everybody's getting into the pickle thing. Well, they're also testing
chicken and waffles right now at a couple of restaurants.

It's easy enough. I'll hit do his aad waffle.

Because they have the chicken already and you get the
waffle and some kind of sweet syrup that they're making
up concocting. If it works, well, we'll have it everywhere.

I mean pickle ish tinged batter that they're putting on
the chicken. Oh so kind of like when you eat it,
they have a little.

Pickle taste without the actual pickle, without the actual picklem.
I like that.

I don't know if you have to tell them to
take the pickle off too or not, it works well.

I mean, Chick fil A has been putting pickles when
they're saying we just forever, so I guess it goes together.

It's specially order without the pickle though.

Well, Chick fil A supposedly then that's the secret, is
that they brine theres and pickle juice.

Yeah, that's how supposedly. We're not saying it's true.

I don't know that's true because nobody confirms it. But
that's supposedly why Chick fil A's chicken taste so good.

I think I did that once at home, tried I
tried it. I did do it. I marinated chicken tenders
and pickle juice and then cooked them. And you know what,
they were good.

Yeah, mine didn't taste like Chick fil A.

I didn't fry them. That's why they didn't taste.

It never seems to work. And also toaster stroodles, Pillsbury
toaster stroodles. I love these things. I've loved them since
they came out, but I have to question the new
new flavor they have called glazed donut.

The reason being is it's like glazed donuts already a
breakfast item, right, so you're you're making a breakfast item
that take like another breakfast dile.

Hey, I was calling about a vacation for staycation. Yes,
what we decided to do on time was we just
pitched our tent up in the back of the truck.
We just threw it in the back and we've had
enough clothes just for one night's day, and we just
rode down the Matchis traits and everywhere there was to stop,

we stopped. Yeah, and our kids. We didn't plan anything,
We didn't make reservations, and we just we had a black.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
What's lovely about it is that you just you didn't
plan anything and whatever happened was a delight because it
wasn't like your expectations get in your way, so you
have no expectations. You can only go up from there.
Speaker 6 (09:31):
And wherever there was to stop that was, you know,
that had a little sign to whatever we got out,
Like one of them was the Witches Hill and they
gave a whole story. Well, we just happened to stop
there at night. Oh and yes, my daughter and I
went to the restroom and I should have known, but
(09:52):
my teenmates, son and my husband climb on top of
the roof of the bathroom and they started making always
is and then they turned the light off, and I
really thought my order was going to just chast out
because he had shared the death of anything.

That's awesome.

Yeah, And I mean, really the only thing it costed,
was just our caste. It was we made the fire,
said our kids. They I mean, I couldn't believe that.
They both were like, this was the death time ever. Yeah,
and I loved y'all show. I love the way y'all

share things about your personal life. It really does help
everybody and touch that even people that don't know have
regular problems like everybody else, and that just y'all bright
my day.

load up. We don't know where we're going, but let's go.

take your kids for about an hour.

Kind of like a They offer different things that you
can do. It's like you you sit in front of
a big screen. I think I've never actually been to
but it's like you can golf into a screen and
do air conditioning.

I want to see how bad I would be at baseball.

It's a great place to do that. But if you
want to stay away from screens. April says that nature
like state parks and local swimming lakes. You can go
around the neighborhood and do scavenger hunts.

You got to plan ahead for that, but that's fun.

Yeah, I've done scavenger hunts. Well, this is when the
kids were little, much younger.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Send them out on a different one. Lets you're older
to drive the younger ones and you stay home and yeah,
you know, and they come home and bring back.

I don't think it's as much fun for them at
this age now, you know, I go a pine cone
and a bird.

No go find like, hey, I need a McDonald's receipt, Like,
make them go do stuff and come back, you know, to.

Get me a big map.

April also says that you can you can really just
take a board game outside. You just use no devices
and no electronics while doing it. Yes, you can go
to a museum or anything like that.

See how at first it'll be hard and different, but
later as the day progresses. My prediction is that it
would be lovely for your family. Yeah, Yeah, you would
feel a different like.

The board games. How might be fun?

Yeah, And Ronald has something that maybe you may not
have thought of.

Okay, look into a train ride that you can take
out of your town.

I did too one day, so fun one time.

get interesting about a train ride from the country. Got

Yes, it's a wonderful way to look at things real slowly.

The Walking Dead is getting a Pokemon goh style mobile game.

You have to run around, chase and find a lot.

Like Pokemon Go. You're able to move your avatars by
walking around neighborhoods. You roll them around to fight walkers
and collect stuff, and you rescue survivors. I don't know
what I'm talking about here, zombies, okay, and then you
embark on missions that would collect characters.

It's about four or five years ago.

Maybe maybe it will be good. They said that it's
called The Walking Dead. Our world comes just in time
for the San Diego Comic Con festivities where they're going
to pre premiere it there. So if you're there for
Comic Con and you're a Walking Dead fan, you can
play there while running into characters.

I really really play it, really play it. I don't

people who they work really hard during the summer.

And I mean sometimes it's a full time vocation for
a lot. But I also think about like summer jobs
as like if you're a college kid or something like that.
My grandmother was one who always made sure that she
tipped the I don't know what you call them. They're
they're not chair boys. They're the ones that set out the.

What are they called. I want to know. I love
those guys because the hey, you know, you always rent
the beach chair for me, Murphy, so I can be
in the shade, not burn. They're not chairboys.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
I don't think that's what my grandmother called them.

But what you're talking about, they set them out and
they set them an umbrellas.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
Yeah, and they do all that.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Because I one week when I did go to the
beach last year with the kids, the chair girl that
I had, she came and moved the umbrella every couple
of hours.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Oh wow, yeah, we've had I've had chair people do
that for me when the sun changes and I'm still
sitting there.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
There's probably an official name for it, you know, but
there it's it's just one of those where you know
they're working hard and you don't necessarily because you're on
vacation sitting on the beach.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
You always tipped them, grandmother.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
My grandmother always tipped them and she actually would tip
them up front, which I guess, you know, was risky,
but but it always tended to be the same guy,
you know, for the whole week. And my grandmother was
just cool like that. She she built relationships with everybody.
She also used to remember, give the garbage collectors bottles
of alcohol or.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Whatever risky for Christmas. Well, I can tell you, you know,
I got to find out what they're really called. If
you know what they're called, if there's an actual name
for that job. We do want to know beach attendance
eight oh eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ.

If you are in a hotel in a strange city
and you have to say, hey, where's the nearest blobbery
blop and they tell you and they help you.

They've earnedas for you too.

They can set up preservations for you. They've earned a tip.
That's and that's something I did not know when I
first started traveling. I never knew to do that. Now
I do well, especially if you wind up. Not everybody's
in the state a four star hotel, but yeahing like that.
You know four or five stars? You do, yet they
know the city. They they should be able to answer
almost any question that you have. And if they can't,

they're gonna they're gonna send you to someone who can.
And remember we talk about it, and you stay in hotels. Housekeeping, boy,
that is a job. When they open that door to
clean your room. You want them to have a gratuity.
You really do one to two dollars per night or
up to five or ten bucks per night, depending on

She's like a butterfly, you know. She floats into rooms,
she floats out of rooms, and she just brings loveliness
most of the time, except first thing in the morning.
But anyway, sweet Fiebes. Both of our girls are into
theater big time, you know that, and they love to
be on stage. Phoebe's doing another summer camp right now
and there it's a theater production and Thursday night is

the Tomorrow night's the performance we get to see. And
it's a Peter Pan play. Nice think of the Wonderful Fun.

The Disney version, which is different in the Broadway play,
and the movies are all different from each other too.

Right, so this is like the junior version on you know,
on stage. And when she auditioned, I was so hopefuls,
like Phoebe. You know the deal here, when you audition,
you sometimes are going to get a part you don't want,
but every part matters. Well, what she really wanted was
tinker Belt because she had done her research. She was
like this, tinker Bell is a narrator. She's got some songs,
and you know, she really wanted tink And I know

I knew some of the other girls going out for
Tank and I thought, you know, it was probably a
very difficult decision. Well she got it. Oh nice, So
she's tinker Bell. She's been rehearsing at home. I mean,
I've been hearing some of the songs. At one point
I went back there a couple of days ago and
I was like, it sounds wonderful. Please don't lose your
voice before Thursday night, because she was really top of

her lungs. And I don't know what advice to give
for that, and she probably doesn't need it, but I
just don't want her to lose her voice.

Because she get to wear wings.

She won't tell me what she's wearing exactly, she won't
tell me anything like that, But she's tinker Bell tomorrow night,
and we're super excited because she has a solo. She
even told me she has a really fun entrance when
it's her time to come in and out the first time.
So excited for her.

That's kind of production where she gets to fly.

I don't think. I don't think it's sophistication unless that's
the secret.

They've done that before where they had cabling and all that,
which is kind of cool. But I think this one

And her big sister, Taylor, our other daughter, has been
a counselor at this camp, so they've been together for
these couple of weeks. It's has been awesome. So fingers
crossed for Tank tomorrow night.

Great news for Adele fans. She may have a new
album coming out sooner than we thought.

had the throats, strained throats.

I think what makes her great is she paces herself
because remember when it's about her writing, she says, it's
got to be inspired from real life for to work
for her.

Yeah, and she The thing is, though, I want her
to work now, not rushing art, I get it, but
it's a fact that as you get older in life,
your voice changes. Ask any singer, any singer, your voice changes,
you know. And so she will one day not be
able to belt that. Not that she wants to hear
that right.

Well, there was also that rumor that she might take
ten years off.

Uh huh. From all that, I think that was her
tired talking.

Yeah, so she's writing right now. They're saying it could
be out by next Christmas. That's twenty nineteen. Nice year.
And then there's also the big, you know, rumor that
we've been hearing about her signing a deal for her Vegas.
So once the album comes out, maybe she'll once that's
behind her, she'll get the Vegas deal lined up and
we'll be.

Well, I'll be able to travel to Vegas and see
Adele Destiny's Child apparently, and talks to record more music
for the new Charlie's Angel movie. Ooh, because they did

got transferred and we're the only ones that don't live
there anymore. Yeah, and I sure missed having that family around.
I had cousins who live in the country, my dad's
favorite sister, and we would go spend weekends with them
when I was growing up, And once we moved, you
missed that family connection with those cousins. And we sure
look forward to going home every Christmas, Yeah, and sometimes

in the summer, and my favorite favorite year, I got
to go home and spend six weeks with my favorite
aunts and visit all my cousins.

Oh it's good to say that that you can say
that you have that. Do you ever also kind of
feel like maybe if you lived with them all the time,
it wouldn't be as special. It's bittersweet because I.

Having moved so far away and getting to spend so
little time with them, yeah, made a big difference. I
think I appreciated them a lot more.

Minors, I really do, right, and we are doing the same.
They're grown and they have children now, and we have
children now, and so whenever we do get together, it's
great for us and we're lucky. Think we're so grateful
that the kids have the same thing going on. They're
so excited to see each other.

Yeah, a different adventure every day. Okay. One of the
things about summer that I'm loving this summer. We weren't
able to make this happen last year. Our oldest Taylor
has a job, right, Okay, when she started working, it
was really before the school year was over. She started
getting paychecks, so she had a stack of paychecks on
the kitchen counter, and Murphy finally took her to the
bank finally recently. You know, that's kind of busy.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
This is where you kind of feel like, oh my god,
I'm a bad parent because these things need to be deposited,
and I didn't make the time to actually go sit
down and open the account, right.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
You're just busy sometimes.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
But I wanted to do that. There's so many ways
that you can do that, and then there are ways online.
But to me, when you're learning that for the first time,
it's better to stop everything in focus because whatever habit
she creates now is the habit that she's going to
be with her for the rest of her life.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
You know, Yeah, this is so cool to me. You
took her and she's set up now with a savings
account and is it checking. Basically she is a check
bank account acount.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Of course, I show up with everything but her social
Security information like oh, yeah, I need to prove who
she is. That's right.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
You have to come back to the house once or
twice that day, well twice.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Because she forgot her idea and then I forgot that.
I just was fought her, my daughter, but all the
other homework, I'd done my research to know, you know,
what needed to be done. Yeah, and it's set up
in a way where it's easy for me to monitor
to because it's connected to our account, so I can
help out. I had this conversation first with Phoebe because
she was doing makeup on the side, right, and I
just said, you know, making a little money, right, I said,
(29:16):
you know, it's fun and it's really exciting when you
start to get you know, spending money, but you really
need to put some aside and literally forget about it
for a rainy day or for something you want to
focus on her save for, you know. And I said,
it's twenty percent is a good number. That's kind of
tough to do in today's world, you know, ten would
you know is okay if you have to, but you
should start out with twenty percent saving Yeah, And you know,
(29:38):
so I thought, okay, we'll see what happens. Well, both
of them actually have done that. And the first thing
that Taylor did when she was making her deposit is, Okay, daddy,
you know this is what I've got twenty percent of
that's this number I need to transfer to savings.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Nice like wow, yeah, this was last night. She walked
in with her cell phone and showed me this is
my account and here's my I figured out how to
deposit my check this way, but I'm gonna put twenty
percent in this savings account.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
And I was like, wow, that's smart.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
It is so if she does that for a lifetime,
which we all know is very very difficult to do.
But when you create that habit, now you know what
I mean, may it may stick.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
The details matter. Teaching someone's specifics works. Telling somebody to
just save doesn't help. Ye, I agree, So the twenty
percent rule really helps, and we'll see maybe they'll both
save them.

Plus she could mind me a really nice birthday.

I'll tell you why. Dimmy Levado is in a feud
with the rehab facility where she's part owner.

So the rehab center where Dimmi Levado got sober six
years ago, has severed ties with her. They want to
cancel everything out. The problem is she's a part owner.

It is it's she she has a contract with them
though it's the cast recovery Center. But her part of
her contract was, yeah, you can wrap up and you
can be a part of all of our publicity materials
as long as you stay sober. And she has recently,
if you didn't realize this, wrote a song and started
performing a song live about how she has slipped, and

I knew she went, but I didn't realize she was
there for a year.

with them and money and branding, and they took off
every mention of her name and every photo and their
publicity materials now and everything online.

summer situations will do that. Guys, I think I may
have found out. We're talking about summer tipping. Things you
will run into traveling and Murphy you brought up the
fact that your grandmother always tipped. What'd you call it?

I don't know, I don't know. The guys set up
the lawn chair, I mean, the pleacher, the beach chairs
and the umbrella, all that kind of stuff here.

She always tipped him. Okay. What I can find out
in my quick search is that it's the beach umbrella
person or beach umbrella guy. You had a girl beach
umbrella recently, saying girl last year. Okay, So five bucks
when they set you up in the morning, and then
at the end of the day, if it's exceptional service
all day long, you might want to tip them some more, right,

But it's basically five bucks in the morning if they
set you up with the umbrella and you know, greet
you and say hey, how you doing, mister so and so,
and yeah.

Maybe you'll get some flashbacks. Remember in the first movie
he was dealing with the memory and the death of
his father. Well, now he's gonna still be dealing with
the death of Goose. He just is his best friend, and.

chicken and waffles right now at a couple of restaurants.

what we decided to do on time was we just
pitched our tent up in the back of the truck.
We just threw it in the back and we've had
enough clothes just for one night's day, and we just
rode down the Matchis traits and everywhere there was to stop,

we stopped. Yeah, and our kids. We didn't plan anything,
We didn't make reservations, and we just we had a black.

What's lovely about it is that you just you didn't
plan anything and whatever happened was a delight because it
wasn't like your expectations get in your way, so you
have no expectations. You can only go up from there.
Speaker 6 (09:31):
And wherever there was to stop that was, you know,
that had a little sign to whatever we got out,
Like one of them was the Witches Hill and they
gave a whole story. Well, we just happened to stop
there at night. Oh and yes, my daughter and I
went to the restroom and I should have known, but

my teenmates, son and my husband climb on top of
the roof of the bathroom and they started making always
is and then they turned the light off, and I
really thought my order was going to just chast out
because he had shared the death of anything.

Yeah, And I mean, really the only thing it costed,
was just our caste. It was we made the fire,
said our kids. They I mean, I couldn't believe that.
They both were like, this was the death time ever. Yeah,

share things about your personal life. It really does help
everybody and touch that even people that don't know have
regular problems like everybody else, and that just y'all bright
my day.

want to stay away from screens. April says that nature
like state parks and local swimming lakes. You can go
around the neighborhood and do scavenger hunts.

kids were little, much younger.

take a board game outside. You just use no devices
and no electronics while doing it. Yes, you can go

would be lovely for your family. Yeah, Yeah, you would
feel a different like.

My grandmother was one who always made sure that she

What are they called. I want to know. I love
those guys because the hey, you know, you always rent
the beach chair for me, Murphy, so I can be
in the shade, not burn. They're not chairboys.

I don't think that's what my grandmother called them.

But what you're talking about, they set them out and
they set them an umbrellas.

Yeah, and they do all that.

Because I one week when I did go to the
beach last year with the kids, the chair girl that
I had, she came and moved the umbrella every couple
of hours.

Oh wow, yeah, we've had I've had chair people do
that for me when the sun changes and I'm still
sitting there.

There's probably an official name for it, you know, but
there it's it's just one of those where you know
they're working hard and you don't necessarily because you're on
vacation sitting on the beach.

You always tipped them, grandmother.

My grandmother always tipped them and she actually would tip
them up front, which I guess, you know, was risky,
but but it always tended to be the same guy,
you know, for the whole week. And my grandmother was
just cool like that. She she built relationships with everybody.
She also used to remember, give the garbage collectors bottles
of alcohol or.

Whatever risky for Christmas. Well, I can tell you, you know,
I got to find out what they're really called. If
you know what they're called, if there's an actual name
for that job. We do want to know beach attendance

That's and that's something I did not know when I
first started traveling. I never knew to do that. Now
I do well, especially if you wind up. Not everybody's
in the state a four star hotel, but yeahing like that.
You know four or five stars? You do, yet they
know the city. They they should be able to answer
almost any question that you have. And if they can't,

they're gonna they're gonna send you to someone who can.
And remember we talk about it, and you stay in hotels. Housekeeping, boy,
that is a job. When they open that door to
clean your room. You want them to have a gratuity.
You really do one to two dollars per night or
up to five or ten bucks per night, depending on

be on stage. Phoebe's doing another summer camp right now
and there it's a theater production and Thursday night is

the Tomorrow night's the performance we get to see. And
it's a Peter Pan play. Nice think of the Wonderful Fun.

The Disney version, which is different in the Broadway play,
and the movies are all different from each other too.

Right, so this is like the junior version on you know,
on stage. And when she auditioned, I was so hopefuls,
like Phoebe. You know the deal here, when you audition,
you sometimes are going to get a part you don't want,
but every part matters. Well, what she really wanted was
tinker Belt because she had done her research. She was
like this, tinker Bell is a narrator. She's got some songs,
and you know, she really wanted tink And I know
(21:02):
I knew some of the other girls going out for
Tank and I thought, you know, it was probably a
very difficult decision. Well she got it. Oh nice, So
she's tinker Bell. She's been rehearsing at home. I mean,
I've been hearing some of the songs. At one point
I went back there a couple of days ago and
I was like, it sounds wonderful. Please don't lose your
voice before Thursday night, because she was really top of
(21:25):
her lungs. And I don't know what advice to give
for that, and she probably doesn't need it, but I
just don't want her to lose her voice.

Because she get to wear wings.

She won't tell me what she's wearing exactly, she won't
tell me anything like that, But she's tinker Bell tomorrow night,
and we're super excited because she has a solo. She
even told me she has a really fun entrance when
it's her time to come in and out the first time.
So excited for her.

That's kind of production where she gets to fly.

I don't think. I don't think it's sophistication unless that's
the secret.

They've done that before where they had cabling and all that,
which is kind of cool. But I think this one

And her big sister, Taylor, our other daughter, has been
a counselor at this camp, so they've been together for
these couple of weeks. It's has been awesome. So fingers
crossed for Tank tomorrow night.

Well, you know, it took four years between the past,
the last few albums I know, so she's working on
getting that down a level. She's already started writing them.
Studio musicians have ever already been told something's in the work,
So block out this length of time here. We're gonna
get in the studio and do it, because if you remember,
she had a once she got off tour last she
had the throats, strained throats.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
I think what makes her great is she paces herself
because remember when it's about her writing, she says, it's
got to be inspired from real life for to work
for her.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Yeah, and she The thing is, though, I want her
to work now, not rushing art, I get it, but
it's a fact that as you get older in life,
your voice changes. Ask any singer, any singer, your voice changes,
you know. And so she will one day not be
able to belt that. Not that she wants to hear
that right.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
Well, there was also that rumor that she might take
ten years off.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Uh huh. From all that, I think that was her
tired talking.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Yeah, so she's writing right now. They're saying it could
be out by next Christmas. That's twenty nineteen. Nice year.
And then there's also the big, you know, rumor that
we've been hearing about her signing a deal for her Vegas.
So once the album comes out, maybe she'll once that's
behind her, she'll get the Vegas deal lined up and
we'll be.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Able we'll go see her.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Well, I'll be able to travel to Vegas and see
Adele Destiny's Child apparently, and talks to record more music
for the new Charlie's Angel movie. Ooh, because they did
this song for the first one.

I didn't know there was another Charlie's Angels movie either.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Yeah, reboot, but it's a reboot because they're not looking
at Drew Barrymore and all those folks.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
For it got to go younger.

Some of the rumored actresses Kristin Stewart, uh huh, Lapita
and Niango. Those are just two. I don't know if
you remember who Elizabeth Banks is.

She's the one that's pushing the whole project, so she's
going to be the director for it.

But they've approached Destiny's Child to like, hey, how about
that the better do you did it for the first time?

Wow, it's amazing in all these years and there's still
Elvis news.

Yes. The new gospel compilation being put together called Where
No One Stands Alone. What makes this one unique is
it's going to be where they kind of pair Elvis
with other singers like they've done in the past. Darlene
Love is going to do one, and even Lisa Marie Presley,
he's going to sing with her dad on this one.
She's gonna sing a song on the album look Forward
to be out August the tenth.

Yeah, my dad was the oldest of seven. I got
a lot of cousins.

Ok. We got moved to.

South Carolina from Ohio, when I was eleven, my dad
got transferred and we're the only ones that don't live
there anymore. Yeah, and I sure missed having that family around.
I had cousins who live in the country, my dad's
favorite sister, and we would go spend weekends with them
when I was growing up, And once we moved, you
missed that family connection with those cousins. And we sure
look forward to going home every Christmas, Yeah, and sometimes
(26:11):
in the summer, and my favorite favorite year, I got
to go home and spend six weeks with my favorite
aunts and visit all my cousins.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Oh it's good to say that that you can say
that you have that. Do you ever also kind of
feel like maybe if you lived with them all the time,
it wouldn't be as special. It's bittersweet because I.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
Think so I agree with that. I agree with that.
Having moved so far away and getting to spend so
little time with them, yeah, made a big difference. I
think I appreciated them a lot more.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
Minors, I really do, right, and we are doing the same.
They're grown and they have children now, and we have
children now, and so whenever we do get together, it's
great for us and we're lucky. Think we're so grateful
that the kids have the same thing going on. They're
so excited to see each other.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
Yes, I think we have a lot more fun.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
Yeah. One of my cousins sent me a mean thing.
If I could find it, I'd send it to you.
But it was grandmother Grandma's house where cousins become best
friends something like that.

Yeah, I agree with that, I really do. Yeah, that's
a good thing to say. I had to call you
because I agree that was the best summer I ever spent.

of what she's doing with twenty percent of her paychecks.

Yeah, a different adventure every day. Okay. One of the
things about summer that I'm loving this summer. We weren't
able to make this happen last year. Our oldest Taylor
has a job, right, Okay, when she started working, it
was really before the school year was over. She started
getting paychecks, so she had a stack of paychecks on
the kitchen counter, and Murphy finally took her to the
bank finally recently. You know, that's kind of busy.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
This is where you kind of feel like, oh my god,
I'm a bad parent because these things need to be deposited,
and I didn't make the time to actually go sit
down and open the account, right.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
You're just busy sometimes.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
But I wanted to do that. There's so many ways
that you can do that, and then there are ways online.
But to me, when you're learning that for the first time,
it's better to stop everything in focus because whatever habit
she creates now is the habit that she's going to
be with her for the rest of her life.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
You know, Yeah, this is so cool to me. You
took her and she's set up now with a savings
account and is it checking. Basically she is a check
bank account acount.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
Of course, I show up with everything but her social
Security information like oh, yeah, I need to prove who
she is. That's right.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
You have to come back to the house once or
twice that day, well twice.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Because she forgot her idea and then I forgot that.
I just was fought her, my daughter, but all the
other homework, I'd done my research to know, you know,
what needed to be done. Yeah, and it's set up
in a way where it's easy for me to monitor
to because it's connected to our account, so I can
help out. I had this conversation first with Phoebe because
she was doing makeup on the side, right, and I
just said, you know, making a little money, right, I said,
(29:16):
you know, it's fun and it's really exciting when you
start to get you know, spending money, but you really
need to put some aside and literally forget about it
for a rainy day or for something you want to
focus on her save for, you know. And I said,
it's twenty percent is a good number. That's kind of
tough to do in today's world, you know, ten would
you know is okay if you have to, but you
should start out with twenty percent saving Yeah, And you know,
(29:38):
so I thought, okay, we'll see what happens. Well, both
of them actually have done that. And the first thing
that Taylor did when she was making her deposit is, Okay, daddy,
you know this is what I've got twenty percent of
that's this number I need to transfer to savings.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Nice like wow, yeah, this was last night. She walked
in with her cell phone and showed me this is
my account and here's my I figured out how to
deposit my check this way, but I'm gonna put twenty
percent in this savings account.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
And I was like, wow, that's smart.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
It is so if she does that for a lifetime,
which we all know is very very difficult to do.
But when you create that habit, now you know what
I mean, may it may stick.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
The details matter. Teaching someone's specifics works. Telling somebody to
just save doesn't help. Ye, I agree, So the twenty
percent rule really helps, and we'll see maybe they'll both
save them.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
Plus she could mind me a really nice birthday.
Speaker 7 (30:25):
That's right coming up your Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
I'll tell you why. Dimmy Levado is in a feud
with the rehab facility where she's part owner.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
Judy's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
So the rehab center where Dimmi Levado got sober six
years ago, has severed ties with her. They want to
cancel everything out. The problem is she's a part owner.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
So it's called because of what's been going on.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
It is it's she she has a contract with them
though it's the cast recovery Center. But her part of
her contract was, yeah, you can wrap up and you
can be a part of all of our publicity materials
as long as you stay sober. And she has recently,
if you didn't realize this, wrote a song and started
performing a song live about how she has slipped, and

it's called Sober. Here's a little bit. I'm so subby,
I'm not sore, and Daddy, please forgive me far and
transferred on the floor.

To the ones you haven't left me?

Women done this wrong before.

And look this is apparently not you know, just her art.
Apparently this song is her kind of letting those people
in her life. And I guess her fans know that, Yeah,
look I did slip, It's possible, of course. And look
she lived in this recovery center with roommates for a year.
It was a significant part of her life and recovery.

While she judged the X Factor with Simon Cowell.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
I knew she went, but I didn't realize she was
there for a year.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Yeah. Wow, I'm so Demmy Lovado and it's going to
be a feud. And it's in the feud right now
because of this this relapse, because she is wrapped up
with them and money and branding, and they took off
every mention of her name and every photo and their
publicity materials now and everything online.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
I guess I understand that, But would you also want
to be supportive and get behind her and say.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Hey, I don't yeah, because isn't that part of it
when you when you sent leaves a recovery center, isn't
that the number one question risk thought? If you ever
need to come back here, then you need to come
back here.

And she's not out there blaming them for failure or no.

Yeah, So it's not good. It's like she doesn't really
need that right now. She kind of has a lot

Sure. This is a new one though from a different company.
That's nap Pods plus Netflix. Oh do you like that? Okay,
Though you're supposed to be napping, we're supposed to be

without you know, maybe some Sometimes you just want to
get away from the public and too many people.

You look like, an episode of Ozark is not going
to chill you out.

I'm just telling you what they're offering air pods. Sleeping
pods is what they're called their private capsule style units
designed for public spaces like airports and hotels. And I
don't know why you needed an hotel, but maybe the lobby,
I don't know, bus stations. Whatever, you swipe your card,
you get in total privacy and comfort. This is what
they promise. Touch screen for everything. Air conditioning, you can

sound reduct sound reduction if you're in a train station,
it blocks it out. Smart glass, privacy, mood lighting, or
Netflix if you want to watch something. My only thing
with the nap pod is who's been in it before me?

Yeah yeah, but hopecially if it's touch everything.

You know, I understand the need to sometimes feel like

than a bathroom stall.

All right, So part of summer vacation is also a
summer tipping. You know, there are a lot of people
who those extra money jobs or full time jobs.

Yeah, what what's the tip? Everybody in most of your
summer situations will do that. Guys, I think I may
have found out. We're talking about summer tipping. Things you
will run into traveling and Murphy you brought up the
fact that your grandmother always tipped. What'd you call it?
What did she call it?
Speaker 1 (36:14):
I don't know, I don't know. The guys set up
the lawn chair, I mean, the pleacher, the beach chairs
and the umbrella, all that kind of stuff here.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
She always tipped him. Okay. What I can find out
in my quick search is that it's the beach umbrella
person or beach umbrella guy. You had a girl beach
umbrella recently, saying girl last year. Okay, So five bucks
when they set you up in the morning, and then
at the end of the day, if it's exceptional service
all day long, you might want to tip them some more, right,

But it's basically five bucks in the morning if they
set you up with the umbrella and you know, greet
you and say hey, how you doing, mister so and so,
and yeah.

Five bucks is a decent deal because you know they're
usually setting twenty or thirty two years old.

It is physical works. Of course, you're a young, you know,
strong person and you want to be out on the
beach all day.

Yeah, so five.

Bucks, Prase, Chad, you used to be a lifeguard, is
there Did anybody ever give you tips as a guard.

Actually no, weirdly enough, they were just like, hey, he's
getting paid already.

Okay, Well I would have never thought to tip a
lifeguard saved me in some way. Yeah, yeah, that'd be different.

Okay, well, you might want to tip the Connect concession era,
like you know, one of the club pools or something
like that, because sometimes that those are.

Because sometimes they bring the food out to you insteady right, yeah.

That's true. That becomes like kind of weight staff.

One more thing if you are it doesn't matter if
you're out of town or you're doing a staycation. If
you're going to have food delivered to the house like
you're gonna do game night, Sam, and you have food delivered,
you know, food delivery is tipping and usually it's ten
percent or a two dollars minimum. Gotcha you tip ten
percent for food delivery. Oh yeah, okay, that's the standard.

the girl, well the girls were like, yeah, but I

Some big collector, but it was a prop guy who had.

own museum. You could actually buy it and lend it
out to somebody.

that is? So blastery most expensive this one was blew
me away, no pun intended. Not the most expensive prop

Of course, Oh my gosh, and I hope that's not
just in somebody's amazement, attic whatever in the corner.
