Speaker 1 (00:03):
All right, Ted, we get started on this Tuesday and
you know it's this weekend is going to be the
big game. And Sam Saman has all the big Super
Bowl advertisers, you know, to previewing the commercials, which are
awesome by the way, wrong teams are in the game,
but you know, it is the big game. You know
at some point you're gonna have to let this go. Sam.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
You know what I'm excited about. There's a Joe Montana
commercial again this year. Holla, yeah, who, so you have
that one today or no, no, I don't have.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
The I don't have the audio for that one yet.
But it's cool because it's the NFL is celebrating their
one hundredth year, like seven months from now. But they're
going to wind the commercial during the Super Bowl, of.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Course, and it's funny because a lot of the refs
are acting like they're one hundred years old.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Right, So thank you write that one.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Down that it's the no Fan League NFL.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Anyway, the NFL commercial is going to have all these
current and old stars, they all tuxedos. They're at a
nice banquet and then again the game breaks out. Oh
I don't know, I just know Montana's there, and Terry
Bradshaw's there.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Look for the girls if you want to find Nameth. Okay,
we have some huge new to me. This is huge
news anyway, the Murphy Samontody family. Here some huge news
coming your way just after seven about my foster dog
getting adopted. Super excited and by the way, Murphy, if
it's okay with you, I'm hoping by midweek to get
(01:21):
another foster.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
What do you think.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Gotta fill a slot, don't you? Yep, yep, got an
open crate. Gotta stick something in it.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
What you do?
Speaker 4 (01:28):
What it's what foster people do.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
That'll be forty one?
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Huh, I think so if I'm counting correctly, forty or
forty one.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
But you know, I mean we have a we have
a number of years were a minimum size criteria because defense,
as we found out a long time ago, anything smaller
than a like a toy poodle is going to get
through that death.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
The first time we fostered a poodle, I'm like, this
is great. He gets along with everybody. We go outside
to potty and he's gone down the street and I'm like, man,
he looked fluffier than he's absolutely he was slipped right
through there.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Did you get him back? Uh?
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Not until our our neighbors had found him and bathed
them and I was panicking. We've had a sweet stray anyway,
So that's exciting. And his adopter is someone that you know.
So we have that later on this morning coming up Hollywood.
My first one of the morning were addressed these breaking
Bad movie rumors about Brian Cranston and Aaron Paul both
(02:26):
being in the movie that we know is being made.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider, Guys.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
A couple of months ago, you remember when the news
started circulating around about a breaking bad movie that's coming
at the box office.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Yeah, it wasn't supposed to have something to do with
Aaron Paul's character.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Jes don't just say character Jesse Pinkman, who was a
person to.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Me after the fact.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Not a prequel, No, not a prequel necessarily. It's supposed
to wrap up.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
You never know these days, sometimes after sometimes before.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
That was the rumor that it's and it definitely was
going to start Aaron Paul. Well, now we know that
Brian Cranston says he's going to be a part of
it somehow too. He doesn't he hasn't looked at the
script yet, and that's been floating around for a while.
But he told someone this week that, yeah, he's going
to be a part of it somehow.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
So maybe Jesse would have flashbacks.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Maybe he's either flashbacks or what happened.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
It didn't happen, And that is totally possible thanks to
just good writers.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
You know, I would be feeling so thrilled if what
happened didn't happen. Honestly, it'd be like, oh hallelujah. He's
still making math or changing his life. I mean, he's
still alive.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Right, you know, I don't think that. I always kind
of felt like that was an open ended ending for
the series. Yeah, you know.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
You're a believer.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
It's not as final as it looks in that and
until even told Jody, I think that at that time.
So I think they left the door open.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Somebody can lay down on the floor and get up again. Hello.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Oh yeah, the first responders are there right away too.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Anyway, to me, that's exciting for fans because if you
go see a breaking Bad movie, you want to see
more than just Jesse. Although I need more Jesse for sure.
Brian Cranston said I'm excited about it. Breaking Bad was
the greatest professional period of my life and I can't
wait to see all those people again. So they're still
up in the air. There's no information floating around about
(04:17):
whether it's a sequel or simply just something in the
Breaking Bad universe, like a spin off like Better Call
Saul was is it? We know Jesse will be there
and Walter, so we don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
If it's like big screen movie theater or.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
It is big screaming is what we're told.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Wow, why not? They could pack them in? Got another
little something something for you. Switching to Jason Bateman, who
we He just won a sag Award for his work
on Ozark, So that's it.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
That's his show.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
That house, we go to bed, we wake up in
the morning, we kissed the kids.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
That's exactly what we do.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
So great.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
He's still gonna continue to direct and produce. He's doing
something a film for Netflix which will star John Cena.
I don't think Jason Bateman's in, and if he isn't,
it's just going to be a small role about a
family that gets stuck in an old, abandoned movie student
you where the set sort of comes to life, which
doesn't sound like Jason Bateman, but that means he's branching out,
So yay Jason.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
That could work though. That's kind of a cool concept.
Speaker 6 (05:10):
Up to date with Shody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Got something I want to add to the Big Game
Day Grub menu. Yay, Sam, Big Game Day, Game Day. Yeah,
and this is coming from my instant pot that my
mommy gave me at Christmas.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Come hang out with us after the show today. We
always have a lot of fun. It's something on the
Murphy Saymen Jody podcast that you can only get there.
We'll do that later.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
All right, Big Game Day Grub is online now for
you for this weekend Murphy Saman Jody dot com, and
we're gonna put it on the Facebook page. Those recipes,
in fact, that we put it up there yesterday, so
check those out. We're talking sliders and wings and chilli
and dip and income.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Sam.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Let's hear it. Well, I'd like to reflect the changing
nature of today's society. I included a couple instant pots recipes,
that's right. And then I tried this artist spinach and
artichoke dip in the in the instant pot. You did
it and it was very quick and easy to do.
My only issue with it, and I put a little
warning on the recipe, is I think there was too
(06:15):
much cheese. Recipe has too much cheese. But it was
like eight ounces of mozzarella and sixteen ounces of parmesan.
That's a lot. Yeah, yeah, because what happened is I'm
you know, you mix it up in the pot after
you cook everything but the cheese. Then you put dump
the cheese in after you let the pressure off and
mix it all together. Sure, no, which is great if
(06:36):
you want to eat it right there, but like if
you put it in the bowl and it sits for
a little bit, I mean you got a block of
cheese is basically what you got with artichoke and spinach
in it.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
So how much would you back down?
Speaker 3 (06:45):
So I would probably back down off that sixteen ounces
of parmesan. Or if you want to add a little
extra mao or sour cream because that's in the recipe too,
or some chicken broth, you know, because that's in the
recipe too. Nice something to make more liquid or less cheese.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
So did you eat it on chips? Did you spread
it on bread?
Speaker 3 (07:01):
What did chips? It says you can, you know, do
the fancy little bread the crustines. But I had a
bag of chips, so I.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
Just want to knock it all out yourself.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
About half of it. It was. It was good. It
was like I felt like I was like at Applebee's
or something.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Okay, good for you, see.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
For me with the crustines. And this is the dumbest
rationalization ever. But you know the thing is, I feel
like I'm eating more carb when I do it that way.
I'm doing less carb with chips. Yeah, of course the
dip is not healthy. I know.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
K food.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
And so this is one you actually saute in the
instant pot, right, Well, you.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Just throw everything in the instant pot except the cheese,
crank it for four minutes, you do that quick release
of the pressure, right and in boom, it's done. This
one is actually an instant recipe in the pot.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Good did you did you use fresh spince or frozen
CROs It says using frozen And.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
You didn't have to squeeze the frozen spine.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Anything, didn't chop anything, nothing. You just throw it in
there and let it go to town. I'm in cream
in there too, of course.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Thank you for that.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Check it out online Murphysalmonjody dot Com.
Speaker 6 (08:06):
Coming up next with Murphy's Salmon Jody.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
I'm gonna take you guys into my closet.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
I did the tiging up method of my closet, and
I've got a couple of things to admit. I'm sort
of ashamed that I was letting this happen in the closet.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
Coming up next.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
I was almost late getting here this morning because I
had so much fun being in my closet this morning.
Everything is where it should be, and I know where
everything is, and I can see everything clearly.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
It's fabu lost. You color coordinate your closet, No, I group.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
It based on like dressier tops or in one area
and everyday tops or in one area, and dresses are
in like skirts and things.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
That's how I do.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
Yeah. Function part of this change, it was pretty much,
you know, grouped in piles.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
Yeah, kind of.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
It's either in the closet or not. It wasn't that bad.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
That happens to everybody's closet. Little you start out and
it's perfect, and little by little it starts to fill
up because.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
You it's something you live in and work in daily.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
If you wear clothes daily, which you do, you know,
so I know why we'll have to I have the
new method now because I watched the Tidying Up show.
I've watched three episodes, and I could not wait to
get to my clothes.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
You know what our free MC says about closets. She
says that, you know, whatever you do, don't put anything
on the floor. Yeah, because the moment you start putting
things on the floor is when you start to put
more things on the floor and you lose your closet.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
So all of my shoes are off the floor. Now,
did you notice that? That's why I was dancing in
my closet this morning. Noons are on the shelves now, baby.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
But here you said I could run and just kind
of skid into the bedroom and slide right in your
and not everything.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
You might slide in your closet anyway, Murph.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Here's what I discovered when I did the method, which
I took everything out and piled it on the bed.
Don't ever do that at night because you'll never go
to sleep. I did it during that I did it
first thing in the morning, and it took me all
day to whittle it down.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
Uh, you know, I'm keeping this. I'm putting this on.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
A better hangar. You know, I'm donating this, and I
donated how three back two to three bags of clothes.
But here's what I found that I didn't realize, and
I'm almost ashamed. I bought a dress four months ago.
I'd forgotten about a beautiful girl.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Oh man, that's great. That's like finding twenty bucks in
your pocket.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
I know.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
So a dress, a beautiful green dress. My closet was
such a mess. I didn't I put it in there
and forgot about it. How ridiculous is that? Same for
a beautiful blue shirt that I've wore once and we
went on a trip and I wore it once and
I haven't touched it since because guess what, it was
buried back there.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
And that color looks good on you.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
I'm gonna tell you this, Ladies and all women have
been there how many times, especially in the wintertime.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
Am I thinking I need some new I need tights?
Speaker 3 (10:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:39):
I have a dozen pair of tights. I just didn't
know it.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
I'll buy them and I'll stick them, or I'll wear
them once and I washed them and put them back
in there. I have at least ten pairs of beautiful
black tights, opaque textured, all of it. I've got navy,
I've got purple, I've got gray. I could sell tights
on this on the you know side of the road
and make a killing today.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
And I'm I feel stupid that I did that.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
So why why would you feel stupid?
Speaker 3 (11:05):
It was a waste. That's why you bought it because
you thought you needed it when you already have I
already had it.
Speaker 6 (11:10):
Coming up with Murphy, Sam and Jody.
Speaker 1 (11:12):

Speaker 7 (11:41):
Good morning, this is Rachel calling. And in regards to
what you say to somebody who's lost someone, well, I
work in veterinary medicine and our four legged friends have
shorter lives than we do. And something that we say
often is thank you for sharing your dogs, your cat, Fluffy,
(12:03):
Tigg or Mike with us. And then we try to say,
you know, we really enjoyed the way she purred or
rubbed against us, or he'd like treats, something to that effect.
Make it a little more personal, because this unconditional love
is very important and needs to be recognized. Love your show.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
This is Rachel.
Speaker 7 (12:23):
You guys have a great day.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Bobye, thank you, Rachel.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
You're so right.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
And our vet did that two was it to almost
three years ago when we had to bring Chevy for
that reason. I wasn't expecting her to say this, but
on the way out she said, oh my gosh, we
loved him so much. He gave hugs and he did.
He was a dog that liked the hug, which is,
you know, not normal.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Like that's solid advice and you know you could do
potentially the same thing with the person, you know, But
I love the way that she purred when she pushed
against me.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Your grandma, keep rub it up against me.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Yeah, remember the thank you for that for leaving that message. Yeah,
I appreciate you. Call us anytime. Jump in at eight
seven seven three one zero for MSJ Coming out Hollywood.
Disney's going to put Black Panther back in theaters and
(13:18):
it's really soon and you can see it for free.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
Tell you all about that.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
Next Jody's Hollywood Outside.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
Did you hear this Black Panther news? Pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Textiles, Shepherds.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
You mean that they're winning all the Great Awards, the
Great Awards.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
They're nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and
they're super excited about it. And Disney announced yesterday. So
they won the SAG Award for Best Ensemble the other night.
So Disney announced yesterday that Black Panther is going to
return to theaters for one week for free for you
to go see it in celebration of Black History Month.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Free.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Yes, from February first till February seventh. That AMC Theater's
like two hundred and fifty of them.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
It doesn't mean every single one, but it's a lot.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
That means we're gonna be something to do instead of
watching the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
There you go, you're right, Sam. Last it was last
year's highest grossing movie.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Well, you know what's funny about it is when they
came out that they were nominated for so many Oscars
and all the other awards. I was like, Black Panther,
that was two years ago, and I felt like it.
It's because it was early in the year last year
that we saw.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Yes, so it's had a long run of popularity. I
want to say our Taylor, she saw it twice. She
loved it so so much. So anyway, so for Black
History Month, Disney announced this in AMC theaters February first
through seventh. Maybe you never saw it, maybe you want
to see it again.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
I'd go see it on Netflix for sure.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
And then we'll see if it wins Best Picture. Moving
on to speaking of the SAG Awards the other night,
one of your favorite.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
Shows, Sam, This is Us.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
In fact, let's get in the mood for This is Us.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Crank that music yet all the fields? Okay, So the
eleven year old girl who plays the young Kate Peterson,
she's an actress. Her name is Mackenzie Haxasak. She was
I hope I said her name right. She was at
the SAG Awards.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
H huh.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
She decided to tweet out, Hey, if any I'm here,
and if anybody wants girl scout cookies because she's selling them.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
I'm at table three forty one, and that's clever.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
And guess what how many thousands sold.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
Over one hundred boxes that night alone?
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Man, smart social media to get you there is what
she did?
Speaker 3 (15:34):
All right?
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Coming up in your next Hollywood Outsider this morning around
seven fifty five, every little thing we know about the
Breaking Bad movie and who's going to be in.
Speaker 6 (15:45):

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Geez, well, there's a big game at McDonald's this afternoon.
Oh that's right, Today's Bacon Day. It's called Bacon Hour
because between four and five today you can go at McDonald's.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Let me guess you had this one in your calendar
and the alert's already gone off.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
I have it on a Google calendar. I got it
in the Outlook calendar.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
What are you gonna get bacon on?
Speaker 3 (16:34):
I don't know, that's the problem.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
I think you and a burger.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Oh. I don't know if they're gonna have the fries yet. Okay.
The reason they're doing this Apple, Apple would smoke bacon
is what they're using tomorrow. They're introducing it on the menu.
You can get a bacon big mac, a bacon quarter pounder,
and then bacon cheesy fries, which I am dying to try.
McDonald's fries are great and you put bacon and cheese
on them. Yeah, I mean the angels will sing ranch too.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
At some point. Experience it's at some point on your
fifth trip to the drive through, they're just gonna suggest
just go ahead and buy ten of them at once.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
He keeps changing hats anyway, So you can go in
there between four and five today. They'll give you bacon
on anything that McDonald's has on the menu.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
That's fine.
Speaker 4 (17:15):
This is a funny, fun great premiss.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
If you want a bacon biscuit, they can put more
bacon on it. You got to get the bacon mcflurry.
But bacon.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Yeah, they will give you a bacon to put on
the mclury, but they won't stick the bacon in the mcflury. No,
they're gonna give you like bak and you can put
it on there yourself. Also, a big day today for
Sonic lovers because they're introducing the Oreo a la mode,
the fried Oreo cookies. It comes with the side of
their vanilla ice cream so you can dip them. What
(17:42):
are you serious?
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Yeah? Or And they're also there's a partnership with Cinnabon
cinnamon Senna snacks. It's a little warm, buttery cinnabon things
and you can dip those in the ice cream too.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
See that's I mean, I know that that's too much,
but there's just something that's worth you know, doing that.
It's worth going to pull there and push the big
red buttons.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Anything in the Oreos with the ice crease. Hey, he's back.
And if for some reason the Super Bowl goes into
overtime this Sunday, Buffalo Wild Wings is jumping in on it.
They're gonna give everybody in the country a free order
a snack size which is five wings or eight boneless
at a date in the future to be determined if
they go into overtime this week. Now, there's nothing in
here about if referees miss a call, but just if
(18:23):
it goes into overtime for the super.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
Miss the call, you're not getting anything.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
I think you know that you can just go drown
yourself with some bacon soon.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
Yeah, thank you, food dude.
Speaker 6 (18:32):
Coming up next with Murphy's Sam and Jody.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
So excited to tell you that our most recent foster dog,
who's gorgeous and gentle and loving, has gotten a great
home and you know his adopter.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
That's next.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
I'm so excited to say latest foster dog that we had, Murphy,
has already been adopted.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
He was with us for less than one week.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Yeah, I was just getting used to having him around
the house.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
Oh, I don't say that. The point is to foster
and get him a great home.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
So I guess you found a sucker.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I did not find a sucker. I found someone who's
wanted a dog for a really long time and now
he has a new bff. And that person is producer
Bailey yeah. So, and his name was Dylan, but you
have renamed him. Yes, yeah, I just I went with Hank,
did you really?
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Yeah, that's what our oldest daughter, Taylor wanted it. She says,
he looks like your hand.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
It's a hank.
Speaker 8 (19:24):
It seemed the most fitting and it was something that
he responded to anyway.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
I was so killing me to not like when I
posted that picture over the weekend of Hey, I'm going
to take you know, my foster dog to meet a
potential adopter. Of course, I was bringing him to you
for the meet and greet, but I didn't want to
say anything because if you if you if you didn't
like him, it didn't work out. I didn't want you
to have any pressure.
Speaker 8 (19:43):
Yeah. No, I think he's wonderful.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
So what made you decide to take the leap? I
know you've talked because your roommate has a dog, right right.
Speaker 8 (19:50):
Yeah, and it's been so much fun living with that
dog and I love him dearly.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
But he's not your dog.
Speaker 8 (19:58):
Yeah, he's not my dog. He's not gonna cuddle with
me when I'm sleeping or any day. So yeah, yeah,
it's just restricted to being him.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
So happy for him for this for Hank. Yeah, because
our family loved him right away. He's so level, because
he's got so much love to give, and he's so
willing to take direction. He's going to be a great dog,
like with every passing day, so great. But I'm so
happy that he got you as an owner, because he
needs your kind of energy. I felt that from right away.
(20:28):
It's like he doesn't need somebody, you know, a busy,
crazy family. He needs somebody with the patience and the
energy of Bailey. And when you adopted him, he got
a dog friend. So I went over the other day
with Hank and helped you introduce Artie that's the other dog,
and Hank, and they were all over.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Each other, right. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (20:47):
First, honestly, it feels like Artie has wanted to have
another dog more than I did.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Like Alarty super happy now.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
But it just goes to show you their pack animals.
I mean they really and look not everybody can do
multiple dogs in one place, and I get that, but
they really are in nine out of ten cases, ninety
nine out of one hundred cases. You know, dogs will
usually get along unless they're but to a big one.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Oh yeah, I mean there are dogs that sometimes want
to be the only dog, but most of.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
The first dog you've owned, Bailey, like on your own
not family. Yeah it is wow.
Speaker 8 (21:20):
Yeah yeah, the only other dogs I've lived with dogs,
but this is the first one that I have. Well,
I do have some questions since you are the foster.
Extraordinary over here.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
Murphy and I okay, let's do that next for handsome Hank.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
And you can follow us on Facebook and when you
like our page, and then of course you'll get notifications
for new posts and whenever we go Facebook Live.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Producer Bailey adopted our latest foster dog. His name is Hank.
Handsome Hank.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
I want to say this before you get to your
questions for us, since this is your first dog that
you've ever adopted, Welcome to the most uncomplicated relationship of
your life.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
Oh I'm so ready for It's so fabulous.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Yeah, I think softly. I think it's even less complicated
than with a cat. That's me not anti cat, I
just you know, totally. Cat's a lot to tell you
what to do. Dogs just do their thing.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
Okay, So what questions do you have for your new dog?
Speaker 8 (22:14):
Okay, Bailey, So yeah, my question about Hank, is it
better to feed one time, a really really big time,
or is it better to feed smaller times twice a day?
Speaker 2 (22:26):
The vet once told me it's better for their digestive
systems to feed twice a day if you can. If
you can only feed once a day, which we do
at our house, sometimes we do a bigger scoop in
the morning.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
And that freaks some people out. But you know, the
thing is they're they're healthy. They certainly are not losing weight.
And our oldest boxer is almost thirteen years old. You
know she's never.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
She's healthy as she can never.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Been fed table food either. I mean not that you
can't spike a treat here and there, but you know,
I mean, it's if you do it regularly, it can
it can compromise a health. What governs that for us
is what they leave behind after they eat.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Well, we didn't want that accidents in the house over night, right,
and as she got older, we started having that. So
it's like once a day you have plenty of time
to move things along.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Right, I didn't know that's recommended twice, my that dick.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Okay, it's gonna it's gonna vary, I'm sure by animal
and size and all that.
Speaker 8 (23:14):
Yeah, and okay, now this one is actually kind of
funny if you if you are looking to train a
dog around other very well trained dogs such as Artie,
who's already trained.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
Nice.
Speaker 8 (23:25):
I am trying to get Hank to do things, but
I can't stop Arty from doing those things.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
You probably have to separate them to train Hank you
because you need his undivided attention.
Speaker 8 (23:36):
So it's not beneficial to have Arty as like, here's
what you're here's what you should be doing.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
I don't know if it's a set stay kind of
a trick. Probably not. If it's you know, here's where
we all go to the bathroom and here's our timing
that kind of thing. Okay, you know, I think does work,
especially when you're using you know, food treats to get there,
you know, get them to train, or everybody's gonna be
eating out of your hand.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Right.
Speaker 8 (23:56):
Yeah, I got chaos. That's basically what I came up with.
I got some a bag of treats, and the second
I open that thing, I held all the power.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Yeah. Here's what I can't wait for for you. The
day that you can tell Hank to just jump up
in your jeep and he does, and you guys go
for a while because that's common, and it's he's still
having to be taught and whatever brought up and down
into the jeep. But that day's coming. I'm excited for you.
Speaker 6 (24:20):
Yeah, Sam has Music News.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
The OSCAR is catching some flak because of that idea
that they want to do where only two of the
song nominees get to perform on the show. Tell you
who the big names are that are calling them out.
Speaker 6 (24:33):
Sam's got Music News.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
You remember about a week or so ago it was
floated out there by the Academy that they are Academy
for the Oscars that they're looking at only letting two
of the Songs of the Year nominees be performed sure,
one being Lady Gaga, I'm Shallow, elma Is Something and
the other being from Black Panther All the Stars, Which
(25:00):
when you brought this up during Hollywood Outsider, Jody and
I was like, that's just wrong.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
It's not the first year they've done it, though, when
they try to scale back the timing of the show.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Yeah, they they've done it before. They've done it.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
We're only three or four out of the five perform,
not the first time.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
I just think it's because we have the Mary Popping
song in there. We got that cool one from Buster Scruggs. Anyway,
Lynn Manuel Miranda said he remembers his first Oscars. He
stayed up late to watch The Little Mermaid because two
of the songs were nominated from that one, and that's
his biggest memory. And he says, you're robbing kids and
other fans of possibly hearing songs. He says, it's truly disappointing.
(25:38):
And this was all on a tweet. Hostless and musicless
is what he put.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
Yeah, I'm sure he's disappointed too.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
And if there's one other I could pick that I'd
really want to see, it's that one. Yeah, you know,
performed fully, but you know, they reserve the right. Although
they're taking something that used to be it seems like
a five hour broadcast, and they do have there, they
have the task of trying to to condense it for
a TV audience, and a TV audience that has sixty
(26:04):
million other choices.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Here's the thing, I get all those other there's a
lot of other awards, technical awards, and not to demean them,
but they could be moved. True, when you think of
the Oscars, what is the only entertainment. You get in
the oscars, the songs being performed well, and the host well,
we don't have a host this year, so it's like
you're taking away some of the entertainers. I did hear that.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
They're they're gonna move a couple of the sound Mixing
awards to while the commercials are un They're gonna give
those away quickly.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Anyway, this isn't a final thing yet from the Academy.
They said they were thinking about. They probably fee out
there to float it to see what happened, so we
may still see all five. Also coming up next week,
just before the Grammys, Pink's gonna get her star on
the Walk of Fame.
Speaker 7 (26:48):
Sure.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Good for peace.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
It's really kind of cool. And this is great too.
The person that's gonna be like the MC and the
one presenting the award or in ducting her or whatever.
Ellen DeGeneres, Oh, that is gonna be so cool. I
gonna have to watch that one on YouTube.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
Bath Fun It's about time I want to see that too.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Murphy Music News, your email answered in our producer's mail bag.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
Coming up next?
Speaker 8 (27:10):
What do we have Bailey, Well, Jody, you're trying to
tackle some organizational problems in.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
Your closet and revamping, yes, vamping.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (27:17):
Well, there's a lot of stories on Facebook from others
who are trying to do the same.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
I love hearing from you, So jump in anytime eight
seven seven three one zero four six seven five or
hit us up on Facebook or Instagram. The producer's mail bag, Bailey,
what's in your bag today? Uh?
Speaker 8 (27:35):
Well, Jody, there's a lot of inspiration coming from that
Netflix series Tidying Up. Yes, and you posted a picture
on Facebook about Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
Okay, So I did my closet the other day.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
We're supposed to just do clothes and not areas, but
I did closet and then like three drawers.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
That's all I had time for. But it took me
all day, especially that shirt drawer.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
That's how she wants you to fold them.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Well I don't know, but I don't know if I
have the folding down, but they she wants.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
You to fold them if you want to be able
to easily recognize what you want to wear. And it
actually does take a less space. I mean, but you
know what I was going to say is don't pressure yourself.
A boy trying to cram that in one day. On
the series, they get weeks to do this, you know
what I mean, They come back two and three weeks later.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
That's true. No, you fold them into little rectangles.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
And because a drawer space is long, I guess, and
not vertical, but we try to stack things vertically, and
of course we can only see the top one and
it just becomes a crazy I don't know how I've
lived this long and not known to do this, Because
now I've got every shirt I wanted to keep in
the drawer and still space in the drawer, well, ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
I means you can buy more shirts.
Speaker 8 (28:39):
Heay Bergott says, I've been doing this for a while
and I love it, although my husband now thinks that
he can get even more T shirts because you can
actually see that. AJ says, I've been doing this a
few years with my husband's shirts. I think there's a
theme here. I tried it out on vacation before that
and I got a week's worth of clothes for five
people in one suitcase.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
Man. Really, it's insane.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
Yeah, yeah, I feel like I feel. And honestly, now
when I'm folding clothes, I'm it's I have to stop
and retrain my retrain myself because I've been folding close
this shirt this way for my whole life.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
It's not the profit way. Only think she folds differently.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
I don't know yet. I've only watched three episodes.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
There yet.
Speaker 8 (29:22):
It's a fold, not a roll, right.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
It's a fold.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
And maybe my picture looks like a roll because my
fold was sort of wonky.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
But and I love the idea of being able to
pack more for travel, But eventually the suitcase becomes pretty heavy.
I would think, you know what I mean, the more
you can get in there, that's going to be for
a family of four and a week's worth the clothes
in one get. I don't want to be the guy
picking up that suitcase.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
Well, Scott Rollers, I'm sure.
Speaker 8 (29:45):
Well, Joeyne says, I just keep throwing things in the
trash and saying this doesn't spark joy.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
Nice, that's what you're supposed to do.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Also, thank it if you throw it away, if you
throw it out or donate it. Look, we love hearing
from you. Jump in anytime. I'm eight seven seven three
one zero four, AM asked Jay coming.
Speaker 6 (30:01):
Up, you're Hollywood?
Speaker 4 (30:04):
Are you guys ready for every little thing?
Speaker 9 (30:05):
We know?
Speaker 2 (30:05):
About the Breaking Bad movie. It is coming, it's being made,
and who's going to be in it? Walt and Jesse
will see that's next.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
Jody's Hollywood outsider.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Hey guys, a couple of months ago, you remember when
the news started circulating around about a Breaking Bad movie
that's coming at the box office.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
Yeah, it wasn't supposed to have something to do with
Aaron Paul's character.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Jess the fact, They'll just say character Jesse Pinkman, who
was a person.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
To me after the fact. Not a prequel, No, not
a prequel necessarily. It's supposed to wrap up.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Please, You never know these days, sometimes after sometimes any before.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
That was the rumor that it's and it definitely was
going to start Aaron Paul. Well, now we know that.
Brian Cranston says he's going to be a part of
it somehow too. He doesn't he hasn't looked at the
script yet and that's been floating around for a while,
but he told someone this week that yeah, he's going
to be a part of it somehow. So maybe Jesse
would have fhbacks.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Maybe it's either flashbacks or what happened.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
Didn't happen, And that is totally possible thanks to just
good writers.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
You know, I would be feeling so thrilled if what
happened didn't happen. Honestly, it'd be like, oh, hallelujah, he's
still making math or changing his life. I mean, he's
still alive.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
You know. I don't think that. I always kind of
felt like that was an open ended ending for the series.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
Yeah, yeah, you're a believer.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
It's not as final as it looks in that and
until even told Jody, I think that at that time.
So I think they left the door open.
Speaker 4 (31:34):
Somebody can lay down on the floor and get up again. Hello.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
Oh yeah. The first responders were there right away too.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Anyway, to me, that's exciting for fans because if you
go see a Breaking Bad movie, you want to see
more than just Jesse, although I need more Jesse for sure.
Brian Cranston said, I'm excited about it. Breaking Bad was
the greatest professional period of my life and I can't
wait to see all those people again. So they're still
up in the air. There's no information floating around about
(32:02):
whether it's a sequel or simply just something in the
Breaking Bad universe, like a spin off like Better Call
Saul was is it. We know Jesse will be there
and Walter, so we don't know.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
If it's like big screen movie theater or.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
It is big screaming is what we're told. Why not
they could pack them in, couldn't they? All right, guys,
got another little something something for you. You know, they're
gonna make a Black Widow movie with Scarlett jos Charlotte Johansson,
and you know she's been in the other marvels.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
It's the end, the end of the path I started
us on, Nothing Lost Forever.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
It's gonna talk about her own standalone movie. Would you
like that?
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Sound?
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Years like that?
Speaker 2 (32:39):
It's apparently in the works now they're going forward with it,
so she gets her own. She's gonna hone her whatever
assassin skills this Black Widow. But the rumor is, and
I don't like this. The rumor is they're talking about
it being rated R like really in that universe and violence,
I guess. But but isn't it a bring all the
family sort of thing. That's just a rumor right now.
(33:01):
We shall see coming up in your next Hollywood outside
of this morning around eight thirty, go see Black Panther
next week for free. We'll tell you how Murphy.
Speaker 6 (33:10):
Sam and Jody you are Hollywood e sider.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Hey, because life is busy, you don't ever have to
miss a thing. The Murphy, Sam and Jody podcast is
always uploaded right after the show and then we do
something special only on the podcast called after the Show.
So come hang out with us for both later today.
Speaker 3 (33:28):
Two for the price of one, that's all r Actually
two for the price of nine because it's free. Yeah. Yeah,
I gave you a little sneak at Steve Carell's Pepsi
commercial for the Super Bowl of him sitting reading the
script and it's gonna be funny. Well, Pepsi's actually put
the commercial out now. It's got Steve Carell in it,
it's got Lil John, and it's got Cardi B.
Speaker 6 (33:46):
I'll take a coke.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Is Pepsi?
Speaker 5 (33:48):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (33:48):
Is Pepsi?
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Okay? Is Pepsi okay?
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Are puppies okay? Is a shooting star okay?
Speaker 6 (33:55):
Is the laughter of small child? Okay?
Speaker 3 (33:57):
Pepsi's more than okay. It's the la Cardi B comes
in after Little John goes Okay. That's funny. Yeah, that'll
be one of the more funny ones. By the way,
since Pepsi sponsors the halftime show, they have a little
ten second pre roll before the show starts. Sure that
(34:17):
they're not telling us what that's going to be. They're
promising something big there. Okay, okay, we will see that
right before the halftime show. Pringles. Now we know Pringles
is using a an Alexa type device that it's very
sad because she can't eat Pringles.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
Right.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Well, here's the whole commercial.
Speaker 5 (34:32):
How many Pingles flavor stack combinations are there?
Speaker 9 (34:35):
Three hundred and eighteen thousand. Sadly, I'll never know the
joy of tasting any for I have no hands to stack,
with no mouth to taste, with no soul to feel with.
I am at the mercy of a cruel and uncareful.
Speaker 4 (34:48):
We'll play funky Town.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
There's a sack, he gets enough of it, and I
just play funky Town.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
That voice is ridiculous. Closer, very close, super close.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
And also a Zoe Kravitz is in a michelob Ultra commercial.
You know what as MR is right, Autonomous sensory meridian response.
Speaker 9 (35:10):
It's weird.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
Kids don't do that at home. You're a low talking
while she's in this one for michelob Ultra.
Speaker 10 (35:17):
It's all experience something together, tapping on the bottle so
beer you can feel it.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Yeah, the whole commercials whispering to the s MR.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
So what I don't even know what that is?
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Oh my goodness, you don't know, mar No, I know
you need to get ahold of YouTube and just type
in a s m R. It'll relax you and put
you to sleep.
Speaker 4 (35:42):
Okay, well, don't do it till tonight then, In case.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
You missed it earlier this morning, producer Bailey adopted a
dog from Jody Foster. Dog from Jody, not because Jody
fought forced it on him in the room or anything.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
I think he's forty at the we're counting yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
At wow, And this was really fast, And I had
to actually go out of town one day over the weekend,
so I didn't really get to spend any more time
with him. When we first got him home, he is
extremely timid and kind of cowering. Is he still doing
that or is he slowly coming out of them?
Speaker 8 (36:14):
He's still doing that for the most part. I know
when I stand up or if I make any like
faster than slow movements, you'll kind of like go crawl away.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
Sure, he will get his confidence more and more and more.
Though he's just naturally that way, that's all.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
He's new to you.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
Yeah, yeah, and I wish we could, you know, know
the story. Sometimes you actually do know the story about
some of these dogs when you foster them and get
him from the shelter, But then some some you don't.
And we don't know anything about him other than he
had a brother, right, he came in with his brother,
and he was you know, he was he was a
little a lot more skinny than when you got him,
you know, I mean he was really.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
He ate at our house, boy, did he Yeah, he
didn't eat at the shelter as much because he was
just a little.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Yeah, And I usually separate the fosters from the other
dogs when we first feed, but when they get along fire,
I kind of let him go, you know, good same time.
Shouldn't have done that with him, because he ate all
four bowls of food and everybody else just sitting looking
up and here he broke the rules.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (37:09):
The one bowl of food that I put down for
him probably done in ten seconds.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Yeah, which I wonder if we should give him one
of those slow down to eat bowls.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
I was thinking about that.
Speaker 8 (37:18):
Yeah, that's what already has.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Oh really, it's funny. The first time I saw one
of those, I'm thinking, Man, this isn't fair. But it's not.
Dogs that you know, eat too much can get sick.
And if you've never seen one of those bulls him,
they've got spirals in him.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
And I had one.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
Oh does Gus eat? I don't want to know what.
Speaker 3 (37:34):
He did, but he Gus defied the odds because Gus
can eat out of a spiral bowl as fast as
he can eat out of Yeah, he would just go
to town. And it's like, well, well this this was
a waste of money.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Well, heads up, Bailey, I have one extra foster. Moms
have everything. And then you can also use the You
could flip over a frisbee and that's harder for them
to it's not a bowl, and the food lies more
flat and it's harder to get it for them to
get it up quick.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
What else you can use? You can use an ice
cube tray? Oh, producer Chap.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
About that right?
Speaker 1 (38:07):
We should just try that with our dogs. How that works?
Speaker 6 (38:11):
Coming out? Hollywood?
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Yeah, Black Panther is going to be running in theaters
again for one week starting Friday.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
But tell you why. You'll get to see it for free.
Speaker 5 (38:20):
Also, Jody's Hollywood outsider.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
So the other night you probably heard him know that
Black Panther won a SAG Award for Best Ensemble Cast.
Speaker 9 (38:32):
Well, do you know what the textiles Shepherd's cool outfits.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
They're up for a number of Oscars too.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
They're for seven Academy Awards Black Panther, including Best Pictures.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
It's a big time for them.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
Will Disney announced yesterday, the day after that Black Panther
won this award, that they're going to return it to theaters,
I guess starting this week February one, Yeah, which this
week three to seventh, and you can go see it
for free at AMC theaters as part of Black History Month.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
I like that price.
Speaker 4 (39:06):
Super cool.
Speaker 2 (39:07):
It seems like it's been two years since it was
in theaters because it was last year early last year.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
Yeah, that's why I said the Oscars this year.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
Yes, So February first through the seventh, AMC theaters only
for one week, go see it for free.
Speaker 6 (39:21):
Murphy, Sam and Jody, you are a Hollywood elslier.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
Got another great Big Game Day grub idea for you here, okay,
now straight from the instant pot, and it's a dip
a dip from the instant pot, which figure.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
This sounds like it's better than most of the instant
pot stuff you've done, Sam, because it actually felt like
it was done in an instance.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
It's only four minutes now, however, Jody the recipe. In
order to get to it, just like all the other
instant pot recipes online, you have to scroll through seventeen paragraphs.
I don't know what it is with instant pot recipes,
as I guess. I guess they just want to be
thorough with There's a lot of it's a learning, a
lot of pictures and all that.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
For example, I mean, you don't actually serve when you're
doing a dip like this, You're not going to serve
it in the instant pot, right, You got to take it.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Out of the en. Say, you've never met my family.
Speaker 4 (40:07):
Have you think you need to put in something pretty?
Speaker 3 (40:09):
Yeah? You do, but it's artichoke hearts, frozen spinach, cream, cheese,
some sour cream and mayo and spices and stuff.
Speaker 4 (40:16):
It's all the good stuff that goes in any Yeah.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
And then you throw it in the instant pot for
four minutes and then you do the quick release, So
it really is quick, and then you stir all the
cheese in to make it all cheesy. Now go slow
on the cheese. I'm warning you on this one. The
cheese that it calls for in the recipe, I'd put
maybe half of that in and nix it up and
say this looks good and just go with that, because
I thought it was too much cheese, which is very
(40:39):
unusual mark this day. The time he said it's too
much cheese.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
Recipes are about things balancing out. Yeah, so yeah, okay,
thank you for that. It's part of our big Game
day grub at Murphy Salmonjody dot com. You know, we
haven't talked a lot about this, and you've been sharing
commercials with us Sam all week leading up to the
super Bowl. But Maroon five is the halftime show and
they're already you know, odds and you can bet on
(41:06):
what song.
Speaker 3 (41:06):
You can bet on everything for this game.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
Yeah, and it's crazy, and so there are bets going
about what song will be first, like five to one
odds animals.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
I don't see that as.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
First, but you know they have so many mass appeal,
big songs.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
It doesn't mean it's there. It's their game.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
Yeah. Another on we got to get it into what
like twenty minutes. It is stuff laughing. I thought it
was a long minutes or something like that.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
One more Night gets three to one odds, makes me
wonder gets three to one on this list of where
you can go bet if I were there betting, say there,
if I were betting on what song they'd play first,
I was thinking moves like Jagger.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
Bring Christina or Mick Jagger. He doesn't sing on the song,
he doesn't, he gets moved. That would be a big thing, saying.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
There are other things you can bet on, like are
they going to bring anybody else on stage?
Speaker 3 (42:01):
And during what song? Christina could come out for that one?
Because I said that Cardi b song she's gonna be
in town because she's the night before she and Bruno
Mars are performing at that bud Light super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
Already said she didn't want to do it though, remember
so we shall see all the betting I guess under
way now and how it all works. But three, I'm sorry,
six to one odds on this song girls Like You,
which is not good.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
Correct, Well, three to one's better than six to one.
Thanks for having us on while you work.
