Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Murphy Salmon Jody Daily Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
November is a personal month in our lives, me and
Murphy because.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Let me think about that. Oh yeah, that's right, the
month we got married it is. I remember, the twelfth
is our anniversary.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Yes, what day is that on this this month?

Speaker 1 (00:20):
This is Wednesday, I think Tom the twelfth. Yeah, what year?
I mean, how many years?

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Twenty six? Is that right?

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Yeah, nineteen ninety nine, twenty six.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Well last year was a big anniversary, is why I remember?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Yeah, yeah, you know. And the thing is we we're
going to celebrate this weekend because you can't really celebrate,
you know, in the middle of the week dinner. I
guess we could do keep it simple, but this is
kind of a nice little getaway.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
We should make some reservations maybe for our next Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Murphy has reservations.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Anyway.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I was thinking about it today because you know, there
has been a lot going on lately, sort of behind
the scenes. Murphy has been working day and night lately.
You have a bunch of deadlines, You have a bunch
of projects right just right now that have fallen on you.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
The world's changed a little bit around me, and so
I'm you know, adapting me.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
So the last few days on the low, like I'll
I say, on the low meaning you don't know this sound.
But I haven't seen Murphy a lot, Like we didn't
have our regular lunch together this week.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
I have you had an appointment to do that was work? Right? Yeah,
Murphy was available, Like okay, I'll just go pick up
a smoothie.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
See anyway, I wanted to say, you know, every more
than one day this week, like this is the fourth
day in a row that I or the third day
in a row. I remember I've called you and said, hey,
is there anything.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
I can do for you? You know, I'm out running errands.
I know you're working.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
I know when you get home, i'll see you for
ten minutes for dinner and then you're going to go work.
So is there anything I can do for you? And
pick up laundry or pick up snacks or is there
anything I can do? And I just thought, you know,
this is what you do. This is how it's supposed
to be a relationship.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
A marriage, a relationship.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
You're supposed to support each other in the little, in
the little ways, that's what it is. Yeah, there are
big moments to consider, but it's it's the day to
day little things, me picking up dinner.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Yeah, you know. And when you say supporting each other
that that's really important, it's but it's a both ways.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Yeah, it does need to be both way because that
you have people have.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
That, Yeah, and and I do think that we do
that because for each other. Sometimes it's unspoken, sometimes it
is spoken.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah, but I just you know, you think about these
grand gestures when it comes to marriage and love and
all the big gestures. But honestly, marriage is in the
little things, the little things.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Yeah, it is, And it's little actions, right, because that's yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Can I pick up your laundry? You know? Can you
do this?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Can you make reservations? Can you take them out of
town this weekend?

Speaker 3 (02:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Coming up in six fifty. Jody has three things to
note today on.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
The way next though, Digging into your email from Murphy,
Sam and Jody dot Com.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, book, and YouTube.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Man, we really do love hearing from you because you
bring the goods. Steve has messaged us to Instagram and
Facebook about sighing.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
What did we learn about signing this week? Guys?

Speaker 1 (03:13):
That it's your body resetting itself.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Yeah, it's actually good for you.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
It's good for your lungs, it's good for your mental Also,
it's not always just that you're aggravating bothered, right, although
it can be like if you're being impatient, you're like.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Being dramatic.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Okay, but the sign can is your body resetting, and
it's good for you. Steve said regarding sighing, it happens
constantly in baseball. If you watch a batter in the
batter's box, they sigh in order to reset their mind.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Oh wow.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Also the picture does it before coming before coming to
set set, prior to throwing the pitch.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I don't know if I'm reading the baseball term correct.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
I have to come and set before they start the pitch.
Wind up?

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Oh okay, and they do sigh.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
I've watched that because I loved why Yeah, like after
the picture thrown, I'm not as much into it, But
that's interesting, Steve.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
I would have never and now gonna notice it.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah, totally gonna notice it, all right, So thank you
for that, Steve.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Keep it coming. You make this show.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
You know your comments, all right, Murphy, you had talked
about was it what gross meatloaf thing did.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
You talk about?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Oh? That was that meat loaf feet thing that went viral.
That was some people were doing for Halloween.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
You know what I mean, meat loaf feet, That's what it.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Was disturbing, and then I wound up dreaming about it
that night and it was scary.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Lyssa has something for you, she sent to our Facebook page. Man,
you have to get really clever, to like, really creative
to do this, she said, meat loaf rats. And it's
in the shape of a rat and it really looks real,
like a big gross That's cool.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Cool. The truth of the matter is, I've never.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
Imagine you can pick up one of those little meat
loaf for rats.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
And just go.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Stair.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
You can shape meat loaf into anything that you can
creatively shape.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
I just never thought it.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
That's true.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Have fun with that, Sam, Thank you, Alyssa and Steve.
We mean it. Love having you along.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Brought to you by Private Team Missed.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
How about some Love for All Things retro.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Back to the Future was back in the at the
box office for a short limited run for its fortieth anniversary,
and it made four point nine million dollars, just as
the re release. I would have wanted to go see
that on the big screen, and we just we we
reminded everybody, and then I forgot it was life. That
was one of the first movies I ever remember seeing

(05:53):
with like a boy sitting next to me.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
It was very exciting.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Right, four point nine million would have been a good
box office taking eighty five.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Anyway, and that's a trend, you know, all things retro.
If it's something that we know could bring audiences, let
it be for a short run. We know we're getting
in December, and I'll remind you for sure, the Jim
Carrey how the Grinch Stole Christmas for like one day
only Kat wait to see that one on the big screen.
I move it on to something else retro that's gonna
light Murphy up. And that's Bewitched.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
You too, Sam Right.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
TV show from the sixties and seventies. And then they've
done a couple of movies.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Didn't kill Kim then perfect casting, right, she can just
about do anything well anyway. There's a reimagining of Bewitch
coming to Fox. It's in development. All we know is
that the story will center on the human Darren marrying
the witch Samantha and them trying to navigate the world
with disapproving parents and cultural classic clashes.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
It works because she's a witch, a lovable one.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
Coming up next, Sam is the food dude.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
Yeah, we have a new condiment that's been invented just
for making the perfect grilled cheese.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
If it's new and you can eat it, Sam's found it.
Here's the food.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Dude, brought to you. Buy new Nordic got to be product.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
You have to order this one online. It won't be
in the grocery source stores, thank goodness. Remember when Hines
was combining all the condiments and making up different names,
you know, like mayo chup and.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
What's the one that we like? It's mustard and mayo.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Which I think they called that one mayo must right, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
That's it, maya mus all the folks aid. Tell themook,
you know they make the cheeses and cheese. Yeah, well
they have a new one called butter naise.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
But mayonnaise. Yes, it takes Murphy a second.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Sorry.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
The main reason they came up with it is because
of the old grilled cheese. Do you put butter? Do
you put mayonnaise? They put butter butternaise and therefore no
more questions. You just slapped this on and it's gonna
it's gonna.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Work for your It only online.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
I don't know they're only selling beginning. Okay, you can
buy in the Tillamook online shop.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Okay, you know I'm curious to try that.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Yeah, I would just like to see.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Okay, uh, cinnabon and this is also a website thing too,
But Jody, you're gonna like this. When Cinnabon is now
selling scented wrapping paper for Christmas eight ninety nine. You
get two rolls. One is pink, one is teal, and
guess what it smells.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
I want the pink one, pink, pink, pink cinnamon. Oh oh, well,
I don't need wrapping paper.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
But that's true.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Are we talking about what we need?

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Who else is going to have cinnamon scented wrapping paper?
Freedo Lay said that they're a hot dep They're flaming
hot deal pickle Cheetos. They're gonna put them on the
on the in stores permanently.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Now, it wasn't they must be selling well.

Speaker 4 (08:44):
Like like hot cheetos.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
I've seen the huge bag.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
And those were the regular cheetos, they said, they're going
to be releasing the Puffs version as well. Okay, looking
forward to that and next year, just in time for
the Super Bowl. Jalipino Popper dip free o lay. You
know one of those canned dips. I guess real creamy
cream cheese and Zesti Hallapeno's real peppers in.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
It, and guess what's up y'all.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
But you can totally spread that into a casse old
dish and bake it and serve it hot, which I
highly recommend.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
You can get a free breakfast this week at Denny's
if you're a Rewards member, a Grand Slam breakfast. You
know why Well, because there was a Grand Slam in
the World Series. Yay. I didn't know they made this deal.
But if they said, if there was a Grand Slam
in the World Series, everybody gets free Grand Slam. So
you have until Monday. You got to be a Rewards member.
But you walk in there say I'm a Rewards member
and they give you the breakfast. Wow, not a bogo,

(09:34):
it's free.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Thank you food dude. Coming up next. Three things to
Know Today. Three things to Know Today brought to you
by Tangle Teaser Number one.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
The FAA the Federal Aviation Administration reducing air traffic by
ten percent at forty high volume airports, meaning the Hobbs. Yeah,
starting tomorrow, and of course it's due to staffing shortages
caused by the ongoing government down. So it's gonna affect
up to four thousand flights daily. But guess what, it's

(10:06):
to keep us all safe. And you're in the air
for now until it can all be resolved. It's unfortunate,
that's the word, but necessary for all of us at
this time. Number Two, your storage unit might not be
as safe as you think if you store a bunch
of stuff in there, and a lot of us do
digging in. They have found that most facilities are not

(10:27):
legally responsible for your stuff if you're a tenant there.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
If your stuff is stolen, you have a lock coll
They do.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Get broken into a lot though, so experts say install
your own cameras and choose a place that is dated with.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
A code unique to you.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Lots of light and number three, K Pop Demon Hunters
two is coming, and I mean we had to you
had to notice. It's the biggest animated movie for Netflix ever.
It's gonna be one of the biggest ever anyway in
theaters will have it, but it won't be here until
twenty twenty nine. You gotta wait a little wild between
now and then they may throw it back in theaters.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
That sing a long edition, the first one.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
You're up to date. Three things to Know Today.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Yesterday and three things to Know.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
We were mentioning about the man who survived twenty days
in the Sierra Mountains.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Oh yeah, he survived.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
The truck broke down.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
His truck broke down, and we were like, he survived.
He was found eventually twenty days later. And it's like,
so I did some digging, you know, last night about
how because Sam was like.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
What did he eat?

Speaker 4 (11:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Yeah, I guess you have to live off the land
when that happened. So he was in a place with
no cell service.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Yes, he didn't just forget to call home. I loft
the phone in the truck. His name is Ron Daily,
sixty five years old.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
He took a wrong turn during a hunting trip that
was followed by a snowstorm that disabled his truck. So
he stayed in his truck for shelter as long as
he could, but his supplies ran out. He was he
had passed for about two weeks and he had fourteen
bottles of water, so that lasts longer than you know.
I wouldn't have fourteen bottles of water, So.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Way to go. You're a ship and just taking time.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
I Yeah, he rationed his supplies until they ran out,
and he survived on water from a stream. When he
ran out of the bottles, he survived on a small
piece of jerky and eight or so nuts per day.
That's not much food per day, but he survived on
it before leaving his truck. The decision to leave his

(12:33):
truck he realized after being there, like staying in my truck,
he said in an interview, it's a death sentence. So
he decided the best chance I've got is to move.
His supplies were gone and he had it out. That's
why when he's drinking from his stream and things like that,
and other hunters found.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Him because he was out walking around.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Yeah, because he was out of the truck. Not crazy.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
No though, where was the phone?

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Well, I'm saying that he's probably in an area that
didn't have cell service.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
You know, I forgot to read that part.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
I mean, it's happened to me and Jody in the
mountains before.

Speaker 3 (13:10):
You know, it's just what nothing like that has ever.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Had no cell service. No, I don't mean we survived
off of nuts for days. I mean when you drive.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Into an area no cell service for like six minutes, you're.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
In a smoky mountains, there was something five minutes away.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
Any point is it's very easy to get out of
mobile rain.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
But believe me, when he has no cell service, he
starts his palms sweating.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
He cannot handle it.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Another thing, by the way that he and his wife said,
his wife was glad to have him back.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Yeah, it was faith.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
He believed that he would if he was supposed to
make it out of there, he believed that he would.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
Obviously that worked.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
I wanted to share that with you. I can't wait
for the documentary on it. Don't you want to see
more about how he survives.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Yeah? Coming up at seven fifty, Jody has three things
to know today and coming up next the morning pick
me up?

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Yeah, what kids really and truly remember about the holidays?
Morning picked me up time? So excited to tell you this.
We're gonna remind you this of this in December as well.
What kids actually remember from the holidays while you are
stressing over finding that perfect thing, or making sure that
perfect dress and all these little details that you think

(14:20):
matters so much. What children actually remember from the holidays.
Let's go down the list for you. Your family traditions.
Yeah that's one Sam years from now when you're not
even here anymore, which is sad to think about. Your
children are are gonna be like, hey, you remember when
Dad used to do chicken finger Thanksgiving?

Speaker 3 (14:39):
That's how it is, and got he died and stopped.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
As a kid though, you probably remember sitting in Sanna's
lap and.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
You remember the family traditions.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Yeah, whatever you create that you do every year, even
something that you accidentally created, Yeah, that's what they remember.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
That's one thing.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
I think that's because you are doing it every year.
I know, because it's over and over and over.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Wow. Stick the family connection. Maybe you only get to
hang out with your cousins at Christmas time. That was
my experience growing up, Murphy. You spent the night at
your grandmother's house on Christmas.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Yeah, we couldn't wait to pick up.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
So family, the connection with loved ones. But the number
one tradition, Jess, family, if you take a trip, whatever,
the number one is the emotional and the feelings attached
to it. Those experiences, sensory experiences like smells like if
you only make cinnamon you know, rolls on Christmas morning

(15:37):
once in a great while.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
It's about that for them when they're little.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
It's a sensory thing, the tree, right, But the most
powerful being emotions, the feeling of safety and warmth and happiness.
Think about a kid who cannot wait for Santa. That
is a feeling that cannot be matched any other time
of the year, and you'll struggle to match that feeling

(16:04):
the rest of your life.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
Part of the reason I put up the old school
lights outside the house every year, you know, big glass bulbs.
Oh yeah, that's what we used to do before all
the tensil lights and the icicles and all came along.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
You're throwback.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Yeah, you're doing that based on feeling.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yeah, And you know the thing is it doesn't have
to be you know, elaborate, because you know you're you
struggle with different things at different times in your life,
and it's not about the stuff. It's just about that experience, right.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
That's what kids remember, and that's to pick me up today.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Coming up next, Jody has your Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
Trending Now Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Brought to you by Private Team Miss He's an IT
man in Hollywood.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Jonathan Bailey currently the People magazine Sexiest Man Alive. And
you know he stars co stars in Wicked for Good,
which arrives in theaters in two weeks. I'm off to
see the Wizzard, but if you can't wait that long,

Speaker 4 (17:05):

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Right, He's going to be a part of that too tonight.
So another thing to know is that he's all over.
You're streaming Bridgerton or one of those. He is the
oldest brother Lord Anthony Bridgerton in that Netflix series, Yes,
Very Good Girlfriend, and he plays the handsome pale paleontologist
in Jurassic World Rebirth against opposite Scarlett Johansson and my

(17:30):
herschel Ali.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
So Jonathan Bailey everywhere you can catch amy. Pretty might
stuff on NBC.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Speaking of pretty stuff, but not pretty reviews this new
Hulu drama It's Kim Kardashian and Ryan Murphy teaming up
to create this show called All's Fair.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
You're the best divorce lawyers in town.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
I need you to tell us the whole story.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
It's making headlines, but not the kind they had hoped for.
Everybody says it's horrible. USA Today calls it the worst
TV show of the year. Other reports it's brain dead.
It's beautiful, high fashioned, but terrible.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Script on the way next. If you've never made corn
pudding or Crawleen brownies, you're in luck.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Yeah, our family favorite recipes. Were digging into them for Thanksgiving.
On the way so excited to share with you our
family favorite holiday recipes at Murphy Samonjodi dot com. And look,
these are not just generic. These are actual family recipes.
Things I've made for years, things your grandmother's made, Things

(18:32):
that we eat with our families every single year. Corn
Bread dressing, is it a sweet potato casserole.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Sam that you've got in there?

Speaker 2 (18:40):
The newer versions, the newer things like the Coompi brownies,
all these recipes.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
Well, and the thing is you can share your family
favorite recipes with us too.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
You can.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
We even have at the top of it, happy to
say the holiday sangria that I drink every Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Evey. That's easy wine and frozen fruit.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
Okay, okay, it's cheap wine, but it's also frozen fruit
and blood orange Italian.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
So the corn pudding on there or not?

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Yes, you're corn pudding. Yes, that's there too at Murphy
samon Jodi dot com. So anyway, we posted the recipes
and a lot of love rolling in from them.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
How Maggie says, we have our dressing recipes and I've
made it for over four decades. WHOA, Yes, definitely.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
That's a family favorite.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
I love it and sweet potato casserole, and we try
something new each year too.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
That's cool.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
You know.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
I was having this conversation with our oldest daughter, Taylor Murph.
She is not, for the first year in her life,
not going to be with us for Thanksgiving, and she's
going to be with her boyfriend's family. And she said
that her boyfriend says that his mom's corn bread dressing
is the best he's ever had.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Oh And I told Taylor, I said.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Everybody thinks that of their mom and grandma, and he's right,
he's not wrong.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
That's interesting. That's the kind of thing that could cause
her family fights.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
But I'm thinking no.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
I told her, I said, yes, it's the best.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Rebecca says, I love brownies with nuts. I'll definitely be
trying the recipe closer to the holidays. I'm assuming she's
talking to pie brown brownies.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
We shared it with that picture. That's what she's thinking.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
So yeah, yeah, I guess these pecan pie browniees have
really taking off. Patty says, these looks so delicious. I'm
going to try. My husband has a sweet tooth.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Yeah all right.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
We love having you a long jump in anytime at
Murphy Samonjody dot com, and that is also where you
can find our family favorite holiday recipes.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Coming up next, Jody has three things to Know Today.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
Here's three things to Know Today, brought.

Speaker 4 (20:39):
To you by Tangle Teaser.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Number one.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
If you like to hang out in your car for
a little piece, a little quiet getaway.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
You're not alone.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Well actually you're alone in your car, but a lot
of us enjoy car time and extra five minutes at
the beginning, at the or the end of a day.
It's the perfect place for a little five minute retreat.
You feel privacy, you can hear yourself, think, play music,
do whatever you want. Parents more likely to need it
than anyone else, but also more likely to feel guilty

(21:06):
about doing it.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
Oh, you got to sit in the car to hear
the rest of three things to know too.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
You're not alone, take your time wherever you can get it.
Number two Amazon now in the game offering up a
Thanksgiving meal deal. You can jump on a five person
meal for just twenty five dollars. Do that math? An
eight pound frozen butterball, turkey, crescent rolls, pre made sides
like stuffing, and massed potatoes. And everybody's in this game, Walmart,
target all the everybody offering this to help shopper so

(21:34):
price compare before you buy a lot of the retailers
offering this. And Number three Starbucks rolling out the new
holiday cups today, six different designs bringing cheer, four for
hot drinks and then two for ice. All these cool
new patterns and a little gift tag spot for baristas
to add a personal message for some of it. The

(21:56):
holiday drink menu also comes with the food stuff Okay,
the Polar Bear cake pop and the cinnamon pull apart bread.
All of that stuff available to day.

Speaker 5 (22:06):
You're in the note three things to know Today.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
We learned this week that children under the age of
six ask their parents about forty six questions a day.
That's an average. You got a chatty Kathy on your
hands is even more.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Yeah, that's a lot in one day.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
It is.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
If you're talking twelve hours, that's almost four questions an hour.
That makes sense.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
I love it, though.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
I mean, that's the child's job is to learn about
their world, and if you're their number one adult, you know,
that's your job is to answer questions as best you can.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
Yeah, And I always tried to be patient with that,
as you know, Jody, And most of the time I
was fine unless it became two things at once, like
if I was trying to park the car and I
was being asked a question at the same time.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
That's the only time you get asked the question, right, Yeah,
Murphy's classic most answer, because we were driving. I think he
was rolling into the drive through, which is also a
whole other added, you know, hurdle for him. Phoebe was asking, oh, Taylor,
Taylor was asking all about the weather, and then she

(23:14):
finally said, how did the meteorologies people know this?

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Though? That was after about five questions, And your answer.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Was they just know.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Well, but it was more like Taylor, they just know.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
I know.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
I felt absolutely not the answer. It doesn't just come
to them naturally, they.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Don't just know.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
But it was that moment I'm like, I'm trying to
make sure I don't hit the.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Car that one lives on like as a family joke.
Now they just know is a bad answer.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
What about you, Sam? Do you remember one?

Speaker 2 (23:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (23:47):
Remember the time I got pulled over for speeding in
the National Park?

Speaker 3 (23:50):
I do, Sam.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
The parker was in the back seat and he asked
if I was gonna if the police officer was going
to take me to jail for that?

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Oh bless him?

Speaker 3 (23:59):
What did you say?

Speaker 4 (24:00):
Do you remember now, Parker? It's just I was going
too fast and I'm gonna have to pay a fine.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Okay, well that's good.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
At least that's a fine. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
One of my most interesting favorite ones was from our
youngest daughter, Phoebe. We were also in the car and
they were asking us a bunch of questions about why
can't we go I want to go to Disney now, and.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Why can't we do all this?

Speaker 1 (24:21):
Are you and I together?

Speaker 3 (24:21):
And we were.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Together, and I remember we were all of our answers
had to do with money, like we can't do that
right now, we can't afford it right now. And she
had heard that sort of answer for a lot of
things she had been asking, and she finally said. The
funny thing was her answer or her response. Phoebe said,
why does everything have to be about money?

Speaker 3 (24:41):
And I was like, pull the car over. I'd like
to know that.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yes, that's right, that's that's philosophy.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
When they're young, about forty six per day and everything
is new to a child, of course they're asking questions,
do the best you can.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Moms and dads.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Coming up, Jodie has another Hollywood Outsider, and next Sam
has Music.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
Let you know what Blake Shelton has to say some
not so good things about his former show The Voice.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Sam Scott Music News brought to you by International Animal Rescue. Well.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
Blake Shelton's getting real about some of the regrets he
has from the TV show The Voice.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
She's probably.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
Did an interview recently. He said there were flaws in
the show, and he said it kept the contestants from
reaching superstar status. His reasoning is that on the show
The Voice, there was more emphasis and more focus on
the coaches. You know, are they going to turn around?
And who are the coaches this year as opposed to
the people that were performing, and so therefore there was

(25:41):
not that push to get a superstar.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
That's why he is such a sweetheart, because he honestly
thinks that this show is designed to crank out a superstar.
It's a show that's designed to get ratings, and that's
why they're focusing on coaches.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
And of course, he says his new show The Road
with Keith Urban changes that.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
The musician in Nashville that wouldn't want the opportunity to
have the stage before the superstar, like Keith Urbans.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
He says, all of these people on the show on
the Road this year, he said, they're performing original songs
that they wrote in some of those songs in addition
to the artists they're going to take off.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
That's cool. I hope we can make a difference with that.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
Yeah, I got some Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade news for you.
They're starting to roll in all the people, the artists
that are going to be on floats, and.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
I'm thinking, well, yeah, it is what they do.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
Kids are gonna love this one because Kate Pop Demon
Hunters are going to be there.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
That's the biggest one. Yeah, this year, we're.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
Also going to get Foreigner O Cool in the Gang.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Stop it with Cool in the Gang.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
That's gonna be a celebration.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
I love them so much.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Jewel Colby, Kela, Gavin de Gras, all those folks. Little
John's going to be on there too, and bust.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
A Rhymes Boom.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Yeah. I got another bio pick that might be in
the works if they can agree on a script. And
that's for Duran Duran.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
A lot of guys to follow, right, And.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
That's you know, it's funny because John Taylor said the
Bassis said, that's the exact reason that it hasn't happened yet.
He says, you've got five different stories from five different guys.
I know the Beatles are doing four different ones, but
he says, you got five different guys here, and it's
not just one guy who will.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Tell the story of the band. They did come together
to form an entity.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Yeah, I mean tell that story.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
He said. They've gotten scripts in the past, but none
of them they can agree on. So maybe somewhere down
the road will have the Durandapical bands.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Coming up next Jody has another Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Brought to you by Private Team missed.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Actress Helen Mirren. Some cool news for her. Man.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
She has had a career that's spanned six decades. Most
recently she rocked it on the show nineteen twenty three
and Kitty was.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
Qutits or noose, which is to say, name kill quick.
They're fighters with me, now, are you.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
That's one of those Yellowstone series right, Yes, that's one
of the spin off series prequel that she starred with
Harrison Ford and she started alongside him anyway.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
So she's to receive the Cecil B.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Demill Award coming up in January for her lifetime Achievements
and entertainment.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
That one is the one attached to the Golden Globe.
Well deserved, Yeah, no kidding.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
They also hand out the Carol Burnett Award and nobody
knows who that honorey is going to be this year.
But that's so cool for Helen Mirren, who is just
a battie and so talented. And moving on to some
Snoop Dogg New laid Bed. He was supposed to be
doing this NBC Peacock New Year's Eve special and we

(28:35):
were all excited about it, like, who doesn't want to
spend New Year's Eve with Snoop?

Speaker 3 (28:39):
But NBC has pulled it.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
But it's like it's not like they've pulled it without
his He said, Look, sometimes the calendar gets in the
way of the celebration. He posted this up and he says,
my NBC family and I decided I need to focus
on all things Olympics right now. You remember next year
he's going to be the ambassador and he just wants
to spend time with his family.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
He says.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
We'll party later in twenty twenty six. Y'all grateful Friday
is coming. Jump in on that eight seven seven three
one zero four MSJ.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Yeah, I've been hung up on something ever since Sam
did the food Dude earlier and you said, Tillamook cheese.
The cheese company is doing butternaise. Yeah, but you can
only get it on their website. Right on their website.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
It's in a jar like mayo.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
Yeah, and it's in a jar, and it's a combination
of butter. It's an unsalted butter and mayonnaise.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Yeah, But like grilled cheese sandwiches, what do you put
on it butter, mayonnaise, butter.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
See. I think that it finally occurred to me. Well,
one reason that they're not selling it in stores is
because it's probably kind of an old school thing. But
my grandmother was one that put butter on everything before
the mayo. But I don't think grilled cheese is not
what comes to mind for me, although I guess Tillamook
they're a cheese company, that's what they're going to do.
But anytimes she would make any sandwich or even hamburgers,

(29:54):
it was always butter the bread first, then all the
other condiments went on it, and it tasted great. It's
not something I would do.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
It tasted great. It's a restaurant trick.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Well, and maybe that maybe that is it, because you know,
like in a restaurant when you're getting a burger, they're
gonna melt the butter or whatever, you know, kind of
toast the buns like that.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
It's funny you mentioned that because and I always thought
I was weird the only one. My dad rarely made sandwiches,
but when he made peanut butter and jelly, he put
butter on the bread first, and the peanut butter and
jelly cold. I mean out the fridge. Yeah, butter and
then peanut butter, and then you.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
Had a peanut butter and butter and jelly sandwich.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
Yeah. But I always thought it was weird. It's like
butter to meat sandwich first. But maybe it's an old
school thing.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Yeah. I don't remember if my grandmother would do that
for peanut butter and jelly or not, but I distinctly
remember it on any deli meat sandwich, hamburgers, any of
that kind of stuff.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
I never thought to put butter on sandwiches growing up,
because it just wasn't something that was done. You would
put your condiments, you would put mayo and mustard, but
and then butter. You would only in our family you
would butter hot bread, like when.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
My grandmother made the yeast rolls that she's.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
Famous for, which those recipes, by the way, on our
website Family Favorite Holiday Recipes. We would have butter on
the table and put those on warm bread. But never
in this The only time it was ever on a
sandwich was a grilled cheese sandwich, and that's the only time.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
How long How long did you leave the butter out?

Speaker 3 (31:24):
I mean I didn't.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
I wasn't in charge of any of that, but it
was a long time she would hang around, not up
to Murphy's standards,
