Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Murphy Sam and Jody After the Show podcast.
And you know this past weekend we stayed at a
haunted bed and breakfast. Sam, And you let me tell
this is something that we did for for Phoebe's birthday,
which was a month ago, and we just couldn't book
it for that weekend. But I will tell you, Jody
before we even get started here, that something weird happened
to me on the show. We didn't talk about this.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
But Marie didn't talk about this in the car.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Yeah, if you remember, we recorded a podcast for after
the show at the bed and breakfast. Remember it was
a two part It was a two part podcast, Sam,
and that's what was actually supposed to air today. I
don't know if Jody remembered that we recorded it or not.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Of course, I was so tired.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
It was the next morning we recorded it, and I
was exhausted because it didn't sleep in that haunted room.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Well, I was planning back listening to parts of it,
it's like, okay, cool, great, And when I was trying
to upload it here in the studio so that we
could use it, it's not on my phone anymore.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
I'm shut up that way.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
It was there. I could see them, I could hit play,
I could hear them, and as soon as I started
to upload them, they all disappeared.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Is this the spirit or is this operator error?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Well, you judge, I would like to think it wasn't me.
I don't know how it was there. I mean I
could see all three files, they had their names, I
could hit play. I mean it's like and how it
didn't hit delete? So it's like, why did they disappear
from my phone? They they're gone. So anyway, so that

(01:30):
the after the show podcast it was supposed to be
done from there with it being recapped, completely disappeared. And
what bugs me a little bit about that too, is
you know, I was hoping that we would hear something
in the background. I also remember Jody had recorded something
where I said, wow, we need to see play this
back and see if we can see something. You know,
what do you call that? Like the organs where you

(01:51):
see it but you can't hear it. No, I mean
visually like I gotcha, not a video, but the audience.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Well, I will tell you that. So I stayed in
the Haunted room, the dollroom with Phoebe. That was her birthday.
Wish she had to be twenty. I would love I
would have loved for Taylor to stay, have stayed with
her older sister, Taylor, who's seventeen. But you had to
be twenty one or older to stay, you know, someone
twenty one had to be in the room, and that
was the rule.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
And so.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
I would have loved for Taylor to have been the one,
because I really didn't want to spend the night there me.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
It's not Phoebe. That was her thing.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
She's sort of fascinated with this stuff. But I did
it for her. I'd do anything for her. So when
we lay down, she's right snuggled with me. And that's
the sweet spot here. I didn't sleep much. I didn't
like it. My heart was racing. And when I at first,
when I finally fell asleep, I stuck my leg out
outside of the covers, which was a no no. And
when I woke up to a start, I just.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
You're lucky you weren't pulled under the bed.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
But the sweet that freak you out?

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Did that really freak you out?

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yeah? I'm thinking I don't do that at home. Man,
What is up? Why did I do that?

Speaker 1 (02:58):
Maybe you didn't do it?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (03:01):
The sweet spot is that. I really got a lot
of good snuggles with her. It was so sweet. When
else does your fourteen year old daughter give you that
much affection. It was really sweet. And in the middle
of the night when she one of the times when
she couldn't sleep, and she was like, I can't sleep,
and I said, what's okay? I said, she was in

(03:22):
the middle of the bed. I was sort of on
the edge. She was pushing me so hard. I said,
do you want to swap? She says, no, I want
to sleep here so I can watch. But she was
on the side of the doll. I'm like, I'll swap
with you and I'll sleep on the side of the
bed where the doll is. The doll was on the mantle.
We didn't touch the doll. It didn't scare me because
she was a very pretty doll, but.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Didn't move old old room and all the reported things.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
If I'd have gone in the closet, I would have
been scared because the old, little low closet was scary.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
It just had a weird vibe to it. Yeah, so
I didn't open it.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
And it doesn't have a light because it was built
in the seventeen hundreds.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
So yeah, but this, you know, did you hear any
creaking or anything.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Well, we heard a lot of noise in the house,
but there were other people staying in the house in
the other room.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Didn't you say you could hear the guy snoring next.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Oh my gosh, the guy and the guy and the
people in the room behind us.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
He was snoring. He snored all night.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
He slept like a baby, and we could hear him
through the wall.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
In a situation where the next morning you woke up
and told the caretaker, and they said there was nobody
in the room.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
No, you wish no, he was down there going. I
didn't see it goes well anyway, And.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
We did give Phoebe the option in case because you know,
it just no one's asked the question, do I feel
jilted that I wasn't asked to be there? It was
really funny because Jody's even like you know, Dad's our protector.
When we were asking and giving her the option of
who would you know of who would stay with us?
So Taylor and I just went and stayed on the
other side.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
The sweet thing, too, is the absolute change in her.
She didn't expect to be as I think anxious about it.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
She was.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
She was so excited to be going and doing it
that she didn't realize the room was gonna feel the
whole house feels so different at night, okay, yeah, and
so she was, you know, a little spooked, and so
I didn't want to stay there.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
So I was spooked.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
But I cannot tell you how different it was in
the morning when she woke up and the sunlight was
coming through the window, she was like.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Oh, well, we made it, you know. We spent the
night here.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
She was so proud to have done it, you know,
and then we went to breakfast and we met you
guys at breakfast. I didn't know this until we went
back up into the room and we were gonna be
packing up and taking showers and all that. She had
left her phone recorder recording, and so she was immediately
listening for anything and it huh yeah, hers actually did

(05:49):
save it, Murphy. And there was some sort of little
boomp on the thing on the recording, and she's like,
I don't think that's just the door. I think it's
something close to the phone, And you know, I think
she might be right. It didn't sound like a door
on the other part of the house. It sounded like
something in the room. Huh, So she may have something recorded,
but we don't know what it is.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
I thought that was kind of cool. Overall.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
It was a sweet experience because of all the snuggles
I got, and to watch her kind of go through that,
you know, and be happy in the morning.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I would never want to do that again. I did
not like sleeping.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
You think she'll want to do that again, I.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Do, and this time she can have her daddy.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Yet I don't mind her, you know, switching off. Taylor
and I actually had a great time, just so.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
You know, Jody, Yeah, father died.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
No noise, I mean other other than my you know. Okay, Well,
now that I think about it, the only weird thing
that did happen is my seapap was going on and off. However,
it's because I was plugging into the same outlet that
was tied to a switch that Taylor was turning on.
The light would come on. It turned out not to
be anything at all. Dad would guess, Dad woulds okay,

(07:00):
Dad would gasp. Dad was okay?
