Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to our This is like our virtual drive through window.
We're here serving up fun today.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
What do you think that's cute?

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Help?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I help you? You know it's funny planes trained an automobile.

Speaker 4 (00:15):
No, we don't want to carry that any further.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Do you know who Jody and I ran into a
couple of weeks ago, her old boss, her first boss,
I guess were her first job at McDonald's, right, he did.
He was the owner of the chain.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
So now the one that made you the birthday queen
because you handle the birthday party, it's not.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
The one that made me. He didn't. He was such
a big boss that he didn't know who I was.
I didn't know I worked for him until me I
was here doing a show with you guys saying, yeah,
my first job was at McDonald's. I was sixteen years
old and I loved it. I learned so much. And
that's when we heard, hey, Jody, you worked for me
because it was one of the stores. And he knows
when we ran into him. You know what he said,
I know exactly what story you worked in. Yeah, he

(00:54):
named the number.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Well, I mean that really resonated with him, you know,
I mean, think about how many career years. He's probably
launched over the years with people who started out like
you did at the drive through window, or you know,
hosting the birthday parties.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Or yeah, I mean extra it's funny. I worked the
regular shifts and then I hosted the birthday parties for
extra money on the weekends. And my favorite part about
that one wills high side hustle.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Whatever, did you bring your own props?

Speaker 2 (01:19):
No, you have your own props. If you're the McDonald's
birthday party girl. You stopped by this door and you
pick up the box, and then you go to the
whatever you know, you go whatever location, you meet the
parents and the one of the game I remember playing
that is fun for little children. Back then, the Big
Max came in those styrofoam boxes. Yeah, Big Max stack

(01:42):
whichever kid.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Concern yea styrophone?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Which kid could stack the most Big Max without it falling?
It's like a jinga sort of, and so Big Max
stack was the favorite one and whatever kid won that
one of prize, which was usually a box of cooks.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
See how much fun is that? And you can't really
that's a lost you know, that's frozen in time.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
I was entertaining. I was entertaining. Sure you were, and
I would get tips from the.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Parents, tale on gramas or anything.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Like remember that. I just remember big Max Stack. There
was more to the job, but anyway, it was fun
to run into him. It was fun.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
So did he remember firing you or did you resign?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
I did not get fired? McDonald?

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Where did you get fired from? You get clubs? No?

Speaker 2 (02:33):
No, I resigned. I got fired from the salon.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
It's a fine line between fired and resigned.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
No, I got fired from the salon because I didn't
really belong there. Coming up, You're Hollywood first one of
the morning. A lot of movies coming to the box
office this year, and the ones you need to read
the book before? Are you should next?

Speaker 5 (02:57):
Jody's Hollywood Outside.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Jell agreed that the book's always better. No movie has
ever been better than any book. I can't recall one.
If you've got one, let us know. But there are
a lot of movies landing at the box office this
year that, of course, are based on big best selling novels.
So here are the ones maybe you should read first.
Now one you already know about and you're thinking, I'm
not going to go back and read an old book. Hello,

(03:20):
if you never read pet Cemetery, there's a new pet
Cemetery that is Stephen King Approved coming to the theater.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
See to me, if he says the movies approved, then
he means it. It meets the caliber or I don't know,
it's better than his book.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Right, But it's in April fifth, so it is soon.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
In the woods.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
Today LA discovered a charming little Landmark trailer.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
The trailer is so authentic and new, and they did
take some liberties and change up a few little things
about the story. I will not say what trailer looks
scarier than the first one, scarrier, which is hard to believe.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Yeah, the person you put up there, the person that
comes by.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
And as scary as those movies are and effective, the
books are always better. Just know that that movie is
in theater soon, that one, April fifth, if you can
handle it. There's also I don't know if you guys
have heard about the Walt Disney production of this series
of books. And this is the first of eight fantasy
novels called Artemis Fowl. It's a beautiful trailer, gorgeous human

(04:24):
great like. Disney has spared no expense to make this.
Kids who are reading it now it has a it's
got similar tones to Harry Potter, follows a young boy
who gets caught up in a magic, magical world of
not exactly muggles of faery. Yeah, there's a criminal mastermind involved,
and Judy Dinch is in this uh huh.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
That gives it cred the fact that Disney doesn't give
it cred, Right, are.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
There owls and Dumbledore?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
No, it's not exactly like that. I'm just saying it's
sort of a phenomenon like that. There are a lot
of kids reading the books, loving the books, and the
movies look incredible. That's August this year, so at the
end of of the summer. There's also this book that
I had lying around the house and I started reading
and it was good, and then I lost it. I
think I accidentally donated it Murphy. I got to get
it back because then finish. It's called The Goldfinch and

(05:11):
it's a beautiful story about this boy who sort of
blames himself for his mother's death and then he ends
up getting into a really crazy life. It's called The
Goldfinch and it's out in September, and it's Nicole Kidman
and Ansel Elgort so big names attached.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Murphy, Sam and Jody. You are Hollywood all right?

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Coming up next, we're going to go in the producer's
mail Bag.

Speaker 6 (05:32):
What you got, Bailey, Well, Christy from Facebook is going
to teach us the true thoughts of a dog whenever
they choose something in your house.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
We love hearing from you. You can give us a
call anytime eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ
or he can hit us up online or on Facebook
or Instagram.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
The Producer's mail Bag.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
What do you have today, Bailey?

Speaker 6 (05:55):
Well, Judy, I don't know all the names of your
dogs just based off looking on it, but I saw
Ashley and one other dog in this one picture you
put on Facebook.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Oh yeah, the toilet paper debaccle. That was Ashley innocent
and Champ also innocent of eating an entire package of
toilet paper.

Speaker 6 (06:15):
So you don't know who actually did it?

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Oh I do know? Okay, Well, Christy was cowering in
the corner, and that would be our foster dog, Sasha.

Speaker 6 (06:21):
Oh yeah, Well, Christy says that whatever whatever you're thinking,
the dogs are thinking this mom, Dad, it went like this.
A burglar came in and did all this till we
were scared. We scared them into leaving. I know we're
shocked too.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah, it's funny because the toilet paper. Our dogs don't
do that, so I know that it's our foster dog
because randomly lately I've had to put toilet paper containers
and paper towels away. She just likes paper.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
I would rather chew that kind of stuff all day long.
Furniture and remote Yet she did that to one of
the remotes.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Yeah, she's learning, like she is. If she stayed with us,
not that she's going to, she would learn that. That's anative.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Is she learning or are we learning?

Speaker 6 (07:04):
But Sharon says, I can't count the times that I've
woken up to this in the morning or even come
home to it when I've been gone all day. It's
like they think that if I leave for too long,
they know just what to do to punish me. It's
either toilet paper or the paper towels.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Yeah, you know, they're just they have nothing to do,
and they're going to find something to do.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
I would like to know what the mental process is though,
because there's days I come home and like the dish
rag is on the floor, it's energy. Then there's another
day where there's you know, a piece of tupperware is
on the floor. It's just random stuff from them.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
It's almost like you have to have for board dogs
at home. You have to have extra toys and new
toys every We should share toys like we'll swamp every once.
And also it's something new for them that you want.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Ours do better though when you walk them. When you
walk them and you exercise them, that energy tends to
be more released, more released, right, and they don't mess
around with them. So if you don't walk your dog,
look out for the get what you deserve. Well, no,
I'm saying that's gonna happen. Milan thing, Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Exercise first.

Speaker 6 (08:04):
Yeah, and Sam, it looks like you're not alone with
your son Parker. Alicia says, my daughter feels the same
way about babies. She doesn't know why everyone makes such
a fuss, But my son, on the other hand, adores
all babies.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
Yeah, Parker is loving his new nephew, Hollis, but Mattie
doesn't want to touch Hollis. She fears that if I
put him in my arms, cry him, Yeah, she might
break him, and she's gonna make him cry.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
It's all good. We love hearing from you. Jump in anytime.
I hit us up on Facebook or Instagram.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yeah, Sam has music news.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Oh, if you couldn't make it to Vegas to check
out Lionel Richie's show, he is bringing it to you.
I'll tell you about it.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Sam's got music news.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Lionel Richie's coming out with a new album that was
recorded during his residency in Vegas, and it's called Live
from Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yeah maybe that's good, you know.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
And then he's going out on tour called the Hello Tour.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Hello, yeah baby, you know if he needs to do
the Adell song, doesn't me and then she needs to
come out and do this one, just saying that both
the Hello song, the Hello songs. Yeah, that song is
also very touching and beautiful.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Is this one or Adele both?

Speaker 2 (09:10):
I love this one. This is about a long and
you don't know I exist, but Hello I do?

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Is this the one in the video where they had
the bust of his head?

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Yeah that was weird?

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Yeah that was Oh yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
I forgot about that?

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Is that funny out music videos? Stay in your brain?
And he has that bus.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
He's going on tour in May. He's gonna wrap it
up in August, and right before it ends, the Live
from Las Vegas will come out. It's fifteen cuts and
it's all the good stuff. Truly stuck on you, dancing
on the saddle.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
I've never seen him live. He's fun, right.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Oh yeah, I saw him once at Jazz Fast and yeah,
I didn't want to see him. Yeah, I stared and
watched and I was like, this is a good show.
The man can entertain.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Super talented.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Jonas Brothers are coming to the Final Four next week.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
I'm a super full They cannot be hotter right now.
I am. I feel like a teenage girl when I
hear this.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
The NCAA or March Magnus, they're getting into the game,
kind of like the NFL and all the other professional
leagues are. They get They bring the big acts in
for their big thing. The Final Four is coming up
next weekend. So on Thursday night there a Friday night rather,
they're gonna have Chainsmokers, Saturday night to be the Jonas
Brothers concert, Sunday night Katie Perry in concert, and of
course Monday night will be the Final four or the

(10:21):
Final two championship game.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
A big deal.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Yeah, also to tonight on CMT. I've been waiting for
this one CMT Crossroads with Boys to Men and Brett
Young and yes they do Motown Philly.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Okay again, I got it. I got it. Well, it's
just that's crazy to me that colorse.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
They sound awesome. That's the only song I could find
from tonight that they were released ahead of time.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
May be the only one that matters.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
Man. Yeah, I know the whole audience was jumping. It's
tonight on CMT Crossroads Brett Young and Boys.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
To Men, Murphy, Sam and Jody, Big news coming up next,
How Murphy's winning marriage with nothing but index cards.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
We love to hang out with you later today after
the show, and so we call it the After the
Show Podcast.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
You can only get it online. We do a brand
new episode every day.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah, get an extra personal there, so join us for that.
Speaking of being extra personal, last night, I had crawled
into bed, told the girls good night. I couldn't wait
to read a little bit more of my book. And
so I'm laying in bed under the covers all T one.
It's called the Mountain between Us, the Dog Book, no book.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Speaking of the Dog Book, there was he and I
don't remember what it? What it was? There was a
book I found on the floor that apparently one of
the dogs that's got to be foster O.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
I saw that, Yeah, grabbed, I got it.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
It said that.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
I mean, she didn't chew it up and do anything.
Enjoyed it, you know.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
I put it back on the shelf. Okay, worries. Okay,
So I'm reading. Murphy gets on the phone with his dad.
So you're on the phone, and Murphy when he's on
the phone, especially at home, he walks around like he cannot.
You can't sit still and be on the phone. It's cute,
you know.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
I guess that's true.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
So you walk into the room and I hear parts
of the conversation, and you walk all around the house.
It's like you're exercising while communicating. It's cute. So I
am facing away from you and you, I know you
know what I'm about to tell. I posted it. I
don't know if you know I posted it the other
night on our phone.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Did you really?

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (12:19):
This was supposed to be just between you and me,
but that's.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Fine, but it was so sweet and worth sharing. He's
handed me a note on an index card that was overwind.
I said, You're so cute, just out of the blue,
all of a sudden. It made me giggle. It was
so sweet. I'm like, I'm sharing this right now. How
sweet are you? Like you were multitasking like crazy there

(12:45):
because you didn't miss a beat with your dad. It
was so funny. So I posted that. I keep reading
and here comes another note like one ten minutes later.
I'm going to show this one with you, Sam. The world,
the rest of the world hasn't seen this because it's misspelled.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
On purpose the bottom. Yeah, lord, I did that on purpose.
I see the letters I and see a sweet red
head h.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Add I didn't know if you were just.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
You know, we've we've been married for almost twenty years now,
don't you kind of like having a little surprise like that?

Speaker 2 (13:14):
That it's funny, it's what is being We've heard this before,
and you know it. Being kind to each other when
you've been living together for a long time is everything.
And that is so cute and kind and it's flirtatious too,
and I think we're kind to one another, and I
think that's one reason it works. We also laugh a
lot all that, But do you have like.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
A stack of these index cards and that's what Murphy
uses funny notes. I just I found a few in
a drawer.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
But now that's my bookmark. You understand.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Awesome?

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Good Yeah, you know, since you're posting these, it's a
good thing.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
I can give you.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
The third one would not have been publicly.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Accepted, and you enjoy that. By the way, that says
everybody needs a Murphy coming up, Hollywood, tell you why
the charges against Jesse small Att, the Empire actor, were
dropped yesterday and what's going to happen.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
Next Judy's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Yesterday you heard about this no doubt or saw a
headline Empire actor Jesse Smollett. I guess beats the rap
and you know the story. The quick version is is
months ago we thought he was a victim of a
horrible hate crime, and then what a week later, it
looked like, oh, he set this up, and it's just

(14:29):
a horrible, confusing story. I think one day it will
be not a Lifetime movie, probably a net Netflix, it
will be docuseries. Anyway, So yesterday, it's a stunning kind
of reversal. Prosecutors have dropped all charges against him, saying
instead they have an alternate, you know, plan and of

(14:50):
course Jesse is glad that he's cleared, but the state
attorney says this was not an exoneration. Breaking it down
for a little bit, they say, we believe he did
what he was charged with doing, So what gives so why?
I guess the big question mark is he was charged
with low level felonies and combined with the fact that
he has no prior felony background, no history of violence.

(15:10):
He's not a driver of violence. It's not something they
want to pursue. They are there to prosecute violent crime, right,
And so with the hours of community service he's performed
and he's forfeiting the ten thousand dollars bond, it's over.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Yeah, And the thing is too for the I've seen
a lot of criticism and of the haters. Yeah, it's like,
oh well, special treatment, and it's like, no prosecutors do
this all the time. It's not worth their time to
get locked up in something like this when they got
a bigger fist to fry, so to speak.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Right, So the deal is it's over for now for Jesse,
at least on a state level. All records associated with
it are going to be have been sealed. Yeah, So
that's interesting and weird to me. Police, of course, are
less than thrilled because they feel like he's hiding behind
a deal, a brokere deal, and they don't like that
because they had to do a lot of work to
get it to this point to this place. The other

(16:01):
thing to know is that the state level charges have
been dropped, but Jesse Smoller could still face prosecution on
a federal level for sending a hoax letter mail fraud
associated with the incident.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
So that's granted, I'm not a lawyer, but I would
assume that's probably not going to happen because.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Right there's no indication, but why.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
Not how much further you're going to pursue something that
is like okay, really, let's move on.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
Well, it was dropped on a state level, it might
be a completely different set of prosecutors who are saying,
what do you want to do this?

Speaker 4 (16:29):
Yeah, it depends.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
That still remains to be seen. Coming up your next
Hollywood Outsider at seven fifty five, The Mad Diva Mariah
Carey celebrates a big day.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Murphy, Sam and Jody. You are a Hollywood Insider.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Here we go, wherever you go. If you ever miss
anything here the Murphy Samon Jody podcast. It's uploaded every
single day so that you never miss the thing, and
then we do and after the show podcast Tube that's
exclusively online just for you orre were hanging out a
little bit later on after the show.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
SNeW and you can eat it. SAMs found it.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
He's the food dude, Murphy. I found a story just
for you today. Now, the folks at Reese is they're
altering the peanut butter cup now not the the peanut
butter cup is still gonna be the peanut butter Cup,
but they're putting out a couple new ones to give
you the choice. If you like more chocolate, we're gonna
have one called Chocolate Lovers. If you like more peanut butter,
there's gonna be peanut butter Lovers.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
I've seen it. It looks like it's almost all peanut butter.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Well, the chocolate one is going to have more milk
chocolate and a thicker chocolate shell. The peanut butter one
is going to have like a peanut butter shell on
the top with the peanut butter inside and the chocolate
on the bottle.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
It's going to out sell everything. Yeah, that's going to
rival the egg.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
I'm I really don't care about the chocolate when I
want to try the extra peanut butter, me.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Too, because I mean, if they do the extra chocolate
one the way that they do the bunnies and the
Santa Claus, Yeah, yeah, it's like chewing on chocolate bricks.
I mean before you can get to the peanut butter.
I mean, it's good candy, but it's like.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Make it that way to make it stand up, I.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Guess, yeah, yeah, otherwise you get a mushy Santa.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Yeah. Anyway, these will start in mid April. You can
look for these.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Oh yeah, I'll do.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Burger King has new bacon cheesy tots. You know they
have tatter tots. Yeah, and they have cheesy tots. Well
now they're putting bacon them, so you get bacon cheesy tops.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
But that's different though if that's inside them. Yeah, because
when you think cheesy tots, I think you put cheese
on top.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
No, the cheese and bacon are inside the tops. Well
that's helpful because you know it's less messy in the car.
That's more natural exactly. And McDonald's I heard about this
and I had to look into it. Actually doing this
in Norway, but we could come here if it works.
Is the non chicken chicken McNugget?

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Oh yeah? Is it a veggie?

Speaker 4 (18:36):
Yeah nugget chick peas, carrots, potatoes, colliflour, broccoli, corn, and onions,
and they use a breading that's like rice and semalina
the flo.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
I tried a little nugget thing that was a vegetable
thing once. It tastes like vegetables all mashed up.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
But that's like an egg roll, is what it almost
sounds like, kind of what you described.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
Sam.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
I'd be willing to try that, but then again, you know.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
Of today and Dairy Queen is launching chicken and waffles
soon with their chicken strip basket. They're gonna have strips
of waffles in there for you. Apparently that's a new
thing because KFC's doing chicken and waffles too.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Coming up with Murphy's Sam and Joy.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Sam's gonna help us all out for spring break and
summer to get the kids to never ask you are
we there yet? Oh yeah, we'll do that on the
way coming up next though, I made a pretty significant
mistake with our foster dog, and I think I've learned
from it, so I want to tell you that story
coming up next. We currently have a foster dog. Her

(19:31):
name is Sasha. And what's funny is I accidentally call
her Sansa all the time. Game of Thron's thing. Anyway,
she is a black Lab mix. She's beautiful. Her eyes
are this golden honey brown and they're soulful and she's
just lovely. And she's so happy at our house and
loves our pack and loves our Sofaun sleeps all my

(19:55):
making a sound, and she's learning, she really is learning
to listen.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
The only thing is that she did, you know. It
does are puppy things, you know, and that's what puppies do.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
She's two years old. So I took her to a
little off site adoption event the other day. Whether it
was gorgeous, it's almost at the end. It's forty minutes
until it's over. And this couple walks up, Yeah, and
they make it. There's a lot of dogs around. They
make a beeline to her. I start answering their questions.
Her name is Sasha, she's two. They love all of it.

(20:23):
They have two dogs already, no children.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Okay, well, so they do the pac thing like we right.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
And they want one more, they want a third, and
they love her look and they don't even flinch when
at least she's got some you know, she's heartworm positive,
she'll need to be treated for that, she's on prevention
all that. They're no flinching. They're like they have a
great vet reference and all this, and so I'm so
excited because they would be perfect for her, and she
for them, you know, because they understand about her energy level,

(20:52):
they understand about the play and all the things that
she's gonna need.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Well, today's Wednesday. They haven't called back yet, right, Yeah,
what's going on.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Here's what happened. They wanted to go, you know, take
her on a walk on the leash, and so they
did and I sat there and I was talking to
my friend Caitlyn, who's who was running the adoption event.
I was like, I think they are going to adopt her.
I think they really want her. I think they're a
perfect home. You know, they're going to do an application
and all that, and Caitlyn said, don't rush it, she said,
because Sasha needs to meet her dogs first. And I

(21:23):
knew immediately she was right, because I was going to
be like, yes, adopt her. Today, this would be a
happy ending for her. Figure Well, they they may never
call and it might be, you know, not as good
a situation the next person that really wants or.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
On the hard cell.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Jodie, I was not, but you know this dog's not
going to last forever. Caitlyn was right because she came back.
And honestly, they're being responsible pet owners by putting their
current pets first. They said, look, we probably do need
to do a meet and greet first, just to make
sure that our alpha dog is okay with her. So
I'm waiting for a call.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Well, and maybe we should any day. Maybe we should
stop saying. Look, the list of pluses are a lot
longer than the list of things.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
She's destroyed, destroyed that much, and she's no cats. I've
had to pass up two great homes because she's no
she's a cat chasing Oh you wanted out on dude?

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Coming up with Murphy's Sam and Joy.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
Those will get ready for spring break season and even
summer vacations. Guaranteed way to stop your kids from asking you,
I mean here yet?

Speaker 1 (22:26):
So you know this is the time of year and
I always forget this, which is probably why we either
missed the opportunity or pay examinate rates for our vacations.
If you don't do it, now you know certain places
they look up fast. Yeah, this is the time to
start thinking about summer vacation, even though it's spring now.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
And I do have a solution and I guarantee this
will work for the constant. Are we there yet? That
comes from the backseat of the car. Yes, Sam, And
this happened with me and Parker and Maddie, the twins,
going back to my house this past weekend.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
W can you pick them up from your mom?

Speaker 4 (22:58):
Pick them up from their moms?

Speaker 2 (22:59):
They should know that route by now. You pick them
up every other weekend from that same place and you
drive them to your house.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
But it's it's the concept of time. It's just like
how long.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
They're not sitting there looking out the window like we
used to, right.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
And sometimes there's traffic and sometimes there's not sure And
I do not know, for the life of me, don't
know why this hasn't occurred to me yet. But I
Parker asked me when are we going to be home?
And I was like, well, it'll be about six o'clock.
And I was like, wait a second, you got a phone. Yeah,
use it, here's my address. Put it in there permanently
as one of your favorites exactly, and then now you

(23:35):
can just click and know exactly how long it's going
to take. Right, Yep. And he did it, and guess what,
he loves it. It worked.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
On the way back home to their mom's house at
the end of the weekend, Parker asked me again. I said, Parker,
what did we talk about? He goes, oh, it looks
like about thirty five more minutes. I said, exactly, what.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
Did we talk about? No, talking to daddy.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Yeah, and that's what he's driving and that's bad. When
he that's when he came back and said, Dad, you're
driving awfully fast. Well he did actually say at the
current speed.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's you know, I don't know, I
didn't think of that. We've never told our girl.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Oh yeah, absolutely. Years ago, when Taylor first got her iPhone,
I said, you know what you can you can put
that on your phone too and we can figure it
out together.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Nice, but yeah, what do you get? Uh huh? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (24:20):
Now, Sam, instead of asking you, they're just gonna be like, hey, Siri,
are we there yet? Hey, Siri are oh that's right.

Speaker 4 (24:26):
Yeah, it'll be coming from the back seat. Robots in
the battle and SI's going to answers.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Coming up with Murphy Salmon, Jody.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
We love to hear from you. Eight seven seven three
one zero four M. S. J. And guys, a very
personal question coming from our twenty four hour voicemail. Next,
we love to hear from you, And anytime we miss
your call or around on the other line, leave us a message.
We check the twenty four our voicemail often. Eight seven
seven three one zero for ms J.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Murphy, Sam and Jody twenty four hour voicemail.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Hey guys, it's again.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
I was fine to ask you guys, how your resolutions?

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Oh sorry, your goals have been going the past three months?
Because I just was listening back.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
On past episodes and heard you discussing your.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
Goals for this year and you've.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Had three months and we all want a report. Wow, Okay,
thank you. Let's guys, Thank you Megan. We appreciate you listening. Wow.
Remember we being held accountable here, right.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
My aunt had told Phoebe I don't do resolutions, I
do goals. So have you written down goals for the year?
And I overheard that and thought that's the way. Goals,
not resolution. And you buy a book for that too,
like a journal, yes, to write them down in. That's
all I did.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
I can start us off.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Okay, Murphy, let's go back in time three months.

Speaker 4 (25:45):
Here's the problem. I don't remember what my goals were.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
The producers found it, so that.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Means that may mean that I'm not Actually the producers
went and grabbed the actual from when we set the goals. Okay,
the first one is jody okay. Now, the first one
is family, yes, the second one is healthy, the third
one is friends, and my fourth one is faith and spirituality.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Oh that's a lot. See you?

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Why did I throw so many in that that was
in January? But that you do?

Speaker 2 (26:18):
You always have several go like tackle one. Are you
doing any of that?

Speaker 4 (26:22):
I think I am? Yeah? Which one? Uh?

Speaker 1 (26:25):
In the in the order gvinally Jody, followed by friends,
followed by spirituality, followed by health health okay, with the
health one is okay?

Speaker 2 (26:36):
So those are your goals? You always have so many?
Does that make it harder to focus on a goal?

Speaker 1 (26:40):
No, it's a truck list provides variety. Man, you got
something different to do every day.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
Thirty seconds ago. You couldn't remember, Well, it's because I
didn't write them down too many? Number five right down list?

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Okay, Sam, we have yours and mine. Apparently I also
don't remember. Sure I remember mine? Isn't that pathetic but honest?
Okay eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ thank
you Megan for bringing it up, and.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
We'll do Jody's.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
We'll flash back to Jodie's and Sam's next and see
if they're doing it. And Meghan left us a voicemail
on the twenty four hour voicemail, which I think is
a great question. She wanted to know because she was
listening to one of the older podcasts in January. We
talked about, you know, the goals we were setting for
the year because we all said there's too much pressure

(27:24):
resolutionbody does. She's set a couple of goals we can
go for, and so she wanted to know how we're
doing on ours, and we couldn't remember. I definitely couldn't
remember mine, but my five. Of course, I always have
to give more than one. I think I'm on track
with mostly. The one that I need to be I'm
a little more accountable with. Is I'm snacking too much?
I need to get back on them.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
That's health that falls into your health.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Okay, So now we've got Sam and Jody.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Okay, Sam, do you remember your goals?

Speaker 4 (27:50):
I don't remember my mind. Hopefully I don't have five
like Murphy.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Let's flash back to January.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
Two things I want to do is I got it.
I want to get healthier and make him that the
health is a go good. Except for quitting drinking a
year and a half ago, I've paid no attention to
my health. And the other one is the goal. The
goal is and this is the one I'm going to
catch it for, is to stay single.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Why did you catch that?

Speaker 4 (28:12):
Because you can't. Really the love of your life may
wander in, and then.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
I think it's okay to have a goal to stay
single if you're enjoying your singlehood.

Speaker 4 (28:20):
The resolution versus goals thing, I'm not setting myself up
for failure. Well, I guess I'm fifty to fifty because
I really haven't paid attention to my health, but I'm
still staying single.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Good, you're halfway there.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Yeah, the love of my life hasn't walked in yet.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
All right. Well that leaves Jody. So I don't remember
I don't remember yours either.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
So let's go back and see you.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
But I did think that one thing I would like
to do as a goal. I'm not going to say that.
Our word is to be less rushy around this year,
to not be so rushy, even if I have one
hundred things on my list and my email is blowing
up or everybody needs me. I'm going to do this.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
So as your husband, Jody, would you like me to
give you a report one? You haven't done that?

Speaker 2 (29:09):
My mom's got to let it get done. Maybe that's
just my nature and maybe only time can change that
in me. Right, it's my nature to be rushy and
take care of biz. That's okay, right, And as I
get older, maybe I will naturally settle.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
So basically, for Q one, we're failures.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
That's okay. I don't feel like I fail you.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
I mean I try is not to see the mistake
you made, Sam, You didn't put up five things. I've
only failed in one of the fire Congrats.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Overdueer coming up, Hollywood, More comedian specials come into Netflix.
Tell you Who's head that up? And today's Mariah Carey's birthday,
but don't call it her birthday to her face.

Speaker 5 (29:56):
Judy's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Tiffany Hattish comedian to Hattish, I need more of her
on the big screen, but actually some stand up would
be great. More of it. A lot of money on
this dress. This dress costs way more than my mortgage.
This is Alexander McQueen.

Speaker 4 (30:10):
Okay, she's been in a lot of movies lately.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Yeah, this has been hard time of it, you know,
And this is a time for her to pick her
projects carefully. If there's a new stand up comedy series
for Netflix that she's a part of creating, and it's
called Tiffany Hattish Presents, they Ready, So she's introducing a
diverse group of six up and coming stand up comedians
and they'll do half hour specials. So to me, that

(30:34):
means you'll get one half hour special one week, and
I don't know that doesn't happen like that on Netflix though,
usually get all at once.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
Yeah, And Netflix also has this thing where they feature
comedians where it's like an hour long special and each
of them gets about ten or fifteen minutes, and so
they bring up they bring them out like that, so
you get to see people you've never seen before, up
and comers I've got a lot of the up and
comer comedian specials Netflix.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
People who would normally open up for a big comedian
on the road. Okay, that's cool, and that's nice of
Tiffany Hattish. She's still early in her career to take
her celebrity platform, I guess and go ahead and highlights,
you know, and kind of showcase new up and coming talents.
So six up and coming comedians, comedians doing half hour specials.
But it's all under the umbrella of Tiffany Hattish. Today's

(31:18):
a big day for one, Miss Mariah Carey today. No,
today is her birthday, her fiftieth birthday. But remember she
doesn't call it that. She's been celebrating all week. She
was spotted out with the twins and her boyfriends celebrating
and all the kids were saying happy anniversary. Remember she

(31:42):
said this one time, I don't count years. I have anniversary,
not birthdays, because I celebrate life, Darling. Okay, so you
don't say happy birthday, mom if you're one of those twins.
But anyway, her anniversary is today. You know, Mariah Carey
maybe the ultimate diva turning.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
Fifty her fiftieth anniversary.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Yeah, up to date.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
With Judy's Hollywood Outsider on.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
The Way and your Next Outsider at eight thirty this morning.
So all charges dropped against Empire actor Jesse Smollett. How
did that happen when the prosecutors feel he still really
did what he was charged with.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
Welcome to our This is like our virtual drive through window.
We're here serving up fun today.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
What do you think that's cute? Help me, help you?
You know it's funny, planes, trains, an automobile.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
We don't want to carry that any further.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Do you know who Jody and I ran into a
couple of weeks ago. Her old boss, her first boss,
I guess were her first job at McDonald's, right, he did.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
He was the owner of the chain. So now, the
one that made you the birthday queen because you handle
the birthday party, it's.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Not the one that made me. He didn't. He was
such a big boss that he didn't know who I was.
I didn't know I worked for him until me I
was here doing a show with you guys saying, yeah,
my first job was at McDonald's. I was sixteen years old,
and I loved it. I learned so much. And that's
when we heard, hey, Jody, you worked for me because
it was one of the stores, and he knew when
we ran into him. You know what he said, I
know exactly what story you worked in. Yeah, he named

(33:14):
the number.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Well, that really resonated with him, you know, I mean
think about how many careers he's probably launched over the
years with people who started out like you did at
the drive through window, or you know, hosting the birthday parties.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
Or yeah, I na extra It was funny. I worked
the regular shifts and then I hosted the birthday parties
for extra money on the weekends. And my favorite part
about that one Wool's high side hustle.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Whatever did you bring your own props?

Speaker 2 (33:38):
No, you have your own props if you're the McDonald's
birthday party girl. Dad, you stopped by the store and
you pick up the box and then you go to
the whatever you know, you go whatever location, your tragition,
meet the parents and the one the game I remember
playing that is fun for little children. Back then, the
Big Max came in those styrofoam box there. Yeah, Big

(34:01):
Max stack whichever kid.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
Was a concern.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
Yeah, sty of fun.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Which kid could stack the most Big Max without it falling?
It's like a jinga sort of, and so Big Max
Stack was the favorite one and whatever kid won that
one prize, which was usually a box of cooks.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
See how much fun is that?

Speaker 4 (34:21):
And you can't You can't.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
Really, that's a lost you know, that's frozen in time.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
I was entertaining. I was entertaining, sure you were. And
I would get tips from the parents.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
Til on Grandma's or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Don't remember that. I just remember Big Max Stack. There
was more to the job. But anyway, it was fun
to run into him. It was fun.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
So did he remember firing you or did you resign?

Speaker 2 (34:45):
I did not get fired? McDonald?

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Where did you get fired from? You get clubs? No?

Speaker 2 (34:52):
No, I resigned.

Speaker 4 (34:54):
I got fired from the It's a fine line between
fired and resigned.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
No.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
I got fired from the salon because I didn't really
belong there.

Speaker 5 (35:05):
You know.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
I had the chili debacle this week earlier.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Right cooked a picture in my mind already.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
Oh, I slow cooked at chili and then we came
home and put it away because chili's better the next
day anyway, chili. And so I was gonna come home
the other night and have dinner ready to go. It
was gonna be like, break out the free doos and
we're good. But of course when I switched it from
the slow cooker to a plastic container, I let it cool.
I left it out on the counter to let it

(35:33):
cool before putting a lid on it putting the fridge.
That's just one oh one right there.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Yeah, well, I guess it's one o one. And then
of course we left it. And I'll tell you why
I think it's one o one. Why I'm questioning it.
It's one o one. You forgot it, left it out overnight.
I had already put the dogs up, and I had
gone to beds. I didn't know it was out, and
so it sat out all night. And you know me, yeah,
if it sat out for two hours, I might not
eat it, but definitely not. After all, you wouldn't either, See,
you had to pitch it. But the reason I said,

(36:00):
is it one on one. I know you don't want
to heat up everything in the refrigerator around you, but
I remember taking a tour one time of a professional
facility that you know, cooks down big batches of meat
and things like that, and they immediately once it's done,
immediately put it into this very cold area, right after
it finishing, so that bacteria doesn't you know, grow. Oh

(36:21):
and so so you know, should should we do the
same thing?

Speaker 4 (36:23):
Anya?

Speaker 2 (36:24):
My deal was done. It's not about heating up stuff
in the refrigerator. I was putting. I was letting it
breed so it doesn't blow up the container.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
Yeah, I always do that to heat I let it
come down a little and then away.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
For me, it's about that thing not combusting or whatever.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Anyway, I put on my rubber gloves and I stick
it in the fridge.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
Long story, short is the next. So so last night
at dinnertime, I only had a little bit of stuff.
We were making do with what we had, have three
chicken breasts leftover red sauce from my mom. So I
heat it up everything family of four boom And what
do you think happens? And we always want to be
this house and we always will be. Anytime the girl
have friends over there, welcome to eat. And I barely

(37:02):
have enough for everybody. And that's it hasn't been. It's
been months. And Taylor's like, hey can try to eat
with us, and Trenda's standing right there, friend of hers.
I'm like, yes, sure, am I going to cook but
anyway it worked out. They had pasta, we had chicken plenty. Yeah,
I was sweating it. You don't know that then, but
I was kind.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
Of sweat What wasn't there was chili.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
Coming out Hollywood.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
You already heard that charges against the Empire actor Jesse
Smallett have been dropped. So how did that happen when
prosecutors say, look, he did what he was charged with doing.
Tell you about that next.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
Judy's Hollywood outside stunning move.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
Yesterday, prosecutors dropped all charges against Empire actor Jesse Smallett's.
The state attorney, though, says this was not an exoneration.
So what has happened? They say, we believe that he
did what he was charged with doing. But these are
low level felonies. It was more than a dozen. He's
not a driver of violence, meaning that's not something they

(38:04):
want to spend money pursuing. They don't feel like he's
a danger to society.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
It's said they have bigger fish to fry, not to
use the crishe but they've got bigger things.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
To do, right. So he's already performed several hours of
community service. He's forfeiting the ten thousand dollars bond, So
at this time you know he's done and all records
associated with the case have been sealed. Police are not
thrilled because they're like, wait, we did all this and
then he's hiding behind a deal. This is only on
the state level, though, state level, because felony charges still

(38:35):
could come because of a hoax letter that Jesse sent
associated with the incident.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
Up to date with Jdi's Hollywood.

Speaker 4 (38:43):
Outsider, Hey, Jody, did you hear about the Twitter hoax
that's going around right now? Made kind of a I
think they're calling it the rainbow hoax. You might see
a post from some random person that says, hey, set
your birthday back on your Twitter account to two thousand
and seven, and it opens up all kinds of new

(39:03):
color schemes and patterns, and they're crawling at the rainbow.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
Is it a scam? Is it like going to grab
your info or something?

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Not going to grab your info? And it's really kind
of a harmless prank. But if you set it to
two thousand and seven, that means you're only twelve years
old and you have to be thirteen to be on Twitter. Twitter,
So basically you put it to two thousand and seven, Boom,
your account gets locked.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
That's somebody in a basement snickering. The deal is though
with something like that, I would never do that. I
don't do that sort of thing. The most light and silly,
stupid thing I've done recently is what breed Dog?

Speaker 4 (39:34):
Are you? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (39:35):
I loved it. It was a golden retriever.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
Anyway, if you have done this, relax because when you
tried to get back in and Twitter said now you're
locked out because you're not thirteen, they probably sent you
an email as well, or my message in your account,
and that'll tell you how to fix things.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
Thank you. Sam. A lot of good movies opening at
the box office this year that came from great novels
once a on the lookout for. Not that you have
to read this book, but the book is always better, Sue.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
I've heard that.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
But you don't read fiction.

Speaker 4 (40:07):
So much easier to just watch them.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
That's my problem.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
It's good.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
I mean, do you know I sailed through Harry Potter
by watching it on the screen. I probably missed a
few nuances, didn't.

Speaker 4 (40:17):
I mean, you can invest weeks of reading or two hours.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
It isn't the beauty of reading and I agree with you, Jody.
I probably missed the point on this. Because fiction you
paint the picture in your own head. It's deeply personal
because the image is created in your mind.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
