Speaker 1 (00:06):
All right, it's Friday. Jody's all say, we have Friday
favorites coming up. Sam's got his, Jody's got two. Wow,
all Friday.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Says something else this morning. I don't know if anybody
has noticed anything different about me today.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
There's less hair on your face. I know that.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
I do like that. By the way, you have a
baby face.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
You know you have a baby face. Now say you've.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Trimmed to go tea back.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
That's a trick though, after you put the let the
hair grow out, and you cut it off younger younger.
A baby face.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Can keep changing it. Baby, keep on guessing.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
That's not what I'm talking You're wearing a new shirt.
There is wearing involved.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
I didn't notice anything.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Anybody smell me today?

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Oh no, I forgot. You wore your Jimmy two cologne.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
What's it called Urban Hero? I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Strength is not one of its qualities. I'm guessing.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Well, I don't know, since I'm new to the game.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
How much squirt? How many squirts? Two?

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah, body squirt and I eat a side of the
next squirt And that.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Would be appropriate because those are the heat zones that work.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Murphy and you can say you can deny it, Murphy
always does, I live with you six squirts of a
cloned bottle.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
So if I'm six, if I'm going like dressing up
and going to a Christmas party or an event, it's.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Probably five or six. Nice, Well, I know where to.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Go here, you know. The first time I'm trying.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
This, that's it's less is more when you're trying a
new fragrance, because if it's, you know, more powerful than
you thought, you're kind.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Of be like, but see, mine's not too strong. Do
you even smell mine on me?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I do?

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Do you really?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
When you walk near me? When you come near I.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Have a balance hang up. And in other words, if
I do two squirts on the left, room, I've got
to do two in the right. I don't know what
that is. I can't, yeah, pray one side and not
the other.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
I felt odd this morning because the squirt I put
on the I put one on this side of my neck,
on the right side, and I was like, well, I
should put one on the left. Yeah, but I'm going
with two. And since you don't smell it Monday, I'll
go with three. Good good.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
I mean, we got all up on you. We could
smell it. But we won't do that because you know
to get up on me. I'm happy for you though.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Yeah, I mean I'm anxious to smell it because I
am a cologne lover.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
He's going to be the next over there.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Okay, coming up with Murphy's Sam first, Really what outside
over the morning? Is on the way. Plus, it's Grateful Friday.
We want to hear from you on those little and
big things you are grateful for. Eight seven seven three
one zero four M. S. J.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Maria. You're next.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
It's Grateful Friday. So let us know about the little
or big things that you are grateful for right now.
Eight seven seven three one zero four ms. J.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Maria.

Speaker 5 (02:43):
Today is Grateful Friday.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Correct, Yes, what's you grateful for?

Speaker 5 (02:48):
Two things? Number one lattes and happy and wait yeah,
and number two for my parents. They adopt me when I.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Was two days old, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
And raised me knowing I was but raised me knowing
that I was loved and cherished not only by them,
but by my birth mother, who made sure that I
had a family, a mother and a father who'd loved
me unconditionally and gave me that chance at life. So
I'm grateful to all my parents.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
How old were you when your parents told you about
your adoption.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
I never remember not knowing. Really, it must have been
very young. Yeah, I always knew I was adopted.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah, huh, that's interesting.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
I've heard it so many different ways, and i've heard
it the other way more often, like somebody turns eighteen
and they're told, or somebody turns sixteen and they're told.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
And interesting.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
Yeah, it was like having blonde hair. I writ Hi,
I'm Marie, I'm a girl, I have blonde hair. I'm adopted.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Right, it's just a fact.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
I'm wearing blue jeans today. You know it was all normal, right,
I really do. I have a fairly rare story when
it comes to adoption.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Yeah, you do.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
I'm incredibly grateful for how my story is turned out.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
It's a good one. It's a big one. Now, go
have a latte, right for me?

Speaker 5 (04:17):
I already have?

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yes, Okay, thanks Maria.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
You've ever been around someone who has that story? Like
it's everybody. Everyone's adoption story unfolds differently, but whoever, whoever
it is, you want to find the answer, whether that
person becomes your friend or if it just becomes a fact,
you know, like a biological fact. Because you're searching for identity.
It's just something about what does it say about me?

(04:44):
Is what you need.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Remember, our former producer Drew found his birth mother through
the show. Actually that's how they wound up connecting with
each other.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
No, she listened Goose Momps, Grateful Friday. I love hearing
from you eight seven seven three one zero four ms.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
J Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
I got to put this in because Dwayne the Rock
Johnson reached out to a fan this week, someone who
turned one hundred years old, and he really can sing,
and he sang to Orvis.

Speaker 7 (05:13):
Happy birthday, to.

Speaker 8 (05:17):
Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday, dear.

Speaker 7 (05:22):
Marie Grover who turns one hundred years old today, and
I'm so honored that she's my fan. Happy birthday.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
I'm sending you so much love.

Speaker 9 (05:39):
Happy birthday, Mary.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
I love you right back.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
And that's her laughing the entire time and day.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, well you singing. It's man that he can just
do anything.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
The Rock also want to let you know this weekend
on SNL something to talk about here The host this week,
Phoebe waller Bridge, straight off of her Emmy Wins from the.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Flea Bag Show.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Yeah, I picked up three Emmys.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Yeah, she's hysterical, so we'll see this her first time hosting.
And the musical guest also not to be ignored, Taylor Swift.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
That's huge, Yes it is, and you know what called it.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
I hope she gets the see.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Of course we'll get into some skits. That's SNL this weekend.

Speaker 7 (06:25):
Murphy, Sam and Jody, you are Hollywood.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Sam's got his Friday Favorite.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Next, finally get to get political here.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yay, funny moments. Sometimes there are heartwarming Mormons, but a
lot of times there are funny moments from the past week.

Speaker 7 (06:39):
Sam's up, Sam's Friday Favorite.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Mine is one hundred percent political. No, I'm just kidding.
You know, we try to avoid.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
That here, but we totally we do.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
It's a political thing that I just could not quit
laughing at this.

Speaker 8 (06:52):
I know.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
President Trump tweeted this thing about Joe Biden, you know,
because they're all going back and forth about the Ukraine deal,
and he included the nickelback. Look at this photograph. What
have you ever spoken to your son about his overseas
business dealings.

Speaker 8 (07:07):
I've never spoken my son about his overseas series and then.

Speaker 10 (07:10):
He holds up phone and the photographs meme and Chad
Kroger holds up the photo and you put whatever you
want in there, and it's a picture of Joe Biden
and his son in this Ukraine and representative.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
And so okay, and it.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Was yeah, he tweeted that, and so then nickelbacks like whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
And so Twitter pulled it off because it's copyright infringement. Yeah,
but I just thought it was so funny. But it's
because it's like he holds it up and it's that.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
The funniest one is the other one. Look, that's a graph.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
That's the funniest one of all of them. To see
that met that meme of nickelback.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
That's one you need you need to introduce to your
math teacher.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Or your math teacher needs to bring us your grass.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Look at this graph.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
I love that one.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Yeah, it's so much fun when they when they do that.
The songs about the goats remembers the ghats on the
cold hot.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Oh that's actually funnier than politics, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
There's more. There's a Miley Cyrus goat one right, she does.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Wrecking Ball with the goats. Oh, I forgot I came in.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
I've never mostly heard us goats scream in real life,
not that I've been around a ton of them. We
didn't have goats growing up. My uncle had one. Yeah,
they called him Billy.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Ha ha ha ha original.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
I've never heard him scream like that except for in
the songs. Yeah, yeah, look at this photograph.

Speaker 7 (08:42):
Thank you, Sam, Murphy, Sam and Jody.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Got the family friendly box Office review next.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Yeah, what you need to know about Joaquin Phoenix in
The Joker because it is not for little children.

Speaker 7 (08:57):
New movies this week Murphy, Sam and Jody for a
The box Office Review.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
I don't think there's ever been more Awards show talk
about a movie leading up to the movies opening as
it has been lately.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
For Joaquin Phoenix in Joker.

Speaker 11 (09:11):
My mother always tells me to smile and put on
a happy face.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
This is not like the Jokers of the past, even
though he was very good friends with Heath Ledger. Everybody,
you need to know that this is not like the
Joker movies of the past, where there was.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Ha ha ha ha.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Ha actually light, almost lightness, not that Heath's was light,
but it about someone's very human story. The scent into
madness and the sadness that goes along. And you can
kind of tell that if you've watched even a second
of one of the trailers. So Joaquin Phoenix didn't even
want to do this movie at first. He had always

(09:46):
said no to comic book book movies. He was asked
to be in Doctor Strange. They begged him to replace
Edward Norton as the Hulk and the Avengers huh, and
he said no because he was unwilling to sign the
multi picture deal with Marvel. He's not that kind of guy.
He's more indie. He's more I want to do my
own little project.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
And as the Joker, how do you follow.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Up Deeth Ledgers exactly? And then we're out of respect
to his friend. But the director, Todd Phillips knew that
he wanted Joaquin. There was some consideration of Bill Scarsguard,
there was apparently some consideration of Leonardo DiCaprio, but he
wanted Joaquin, so he really pursued him for it. When
Joaquin finally said yes, based on the material in the story,

(10:28):
like the very human but difficult story, Joaquin started to
lose weight. He said, one of the most maddening parts
of the movie. Getting ready for it was he had
to lose a lot of weight in a short amount
of time, and that was difficult on his psyche. He
also said that learning to do the laugh, or practicing
the laugh and getting it down, was the hardest part.

(10:49):
So clearly, in this movie, the laugh is based on
like a serious medical condition that someone has laughing when
something is maddening to them.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
So it's not a funny, it's a creepy, sinister life thing.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
And so he would practice a lot at home by himself,
and he would also he also made the director come
over and audition the laugh for him because he wanted
that to be perfect.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
This is a family movie, right it are. I'm not quite.

Speaker 7 (11:19):
Murphy Sam Duty Family Friendly box Office Review.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
You know, it's amazing to me that every day in
this country is a national day of something. It's multiple things,
but today is one that Sam's particularly said about.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah, it's not a Tuesday, but it is National Taco Day.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
I know. I'm excited too. I would be down for
getting some fresh tacos tonight. I love them soft. I
love a soft taco with surprising ingredients. You know.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
See that's the difference between me and Jody I'm a
crispy taco guy. You know, it's actually breaker well, but
they had Taco Bell at one time had something that
they called the Taco Light or something like that. It
wasn't light. It wasn't no, no, no, it wasn't light in
the diet sense. It was a lighter shell. It was
a crispy shell that was a little bit kind of fluffy.
I don't remember the name of that, but that was

(12:09):
That was one of my favorites.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Sorry, I can't get it anymore.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yeah, I like a lot of those places are offering
free tacos or reduced tacos today. Taco Bell has one.
Taco Bells is really kind of cool because you can
go on their website and instead of you getting one,
you fill out your name and an email address for
a person for five bucks, and it sends them a
gift card so they can go buy one of those
five dollars taco boxes. Okay, that's cool in steady of
you getting it.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Taco Box is a good idea for at like, if
you have a bunch of kids.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Jack in the box. If you join their eat Club,
you get two free tacos. Today on the Border has
endless tacos for eight ninety nine. Dangs, Yeah, that sounds
like a three hour job there, order and order and order,
and then long John Silvers is having tacos today two
which really I didn't know they had tacos shrimp, grilled salmon,
and Alaskan pollock tacos.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
There you go, shout out producer Bailey put this together
on our website, not our taco recipes. Over the years,
we have done a lot of different kind of tacos,
like as recent as slow cooked chicken taco soup which.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
I made Monday night.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Good.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Yeah, that's so good.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Does that go on a shell?

Speaker 4 (13:10):
It doesn't, but it goes well on a diet Taco
pie recipes there, pulled pork tacos, fit fast fish tacos.
We have a ton of good recipes on our website.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
Those carnitos that I make in the instant pot too.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
You are only one instant pie recipes.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Here, Yeah, pretty much, that's all I used the thing
for that in the doorstop. Those are great on a tortilla, yeah,
Rocchie or soft.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Everybody builds a taco differently. Also, Jody laughs at me
because she says, where's your cheese, and like I put
the cheese on it. It's in the bottom. I like
the cheese house.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Yeah, yeah, common sense.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
All right, it's a National Taco Day. Get all those
good recipes. We're proud of them. Murphy Salmon, Jody dot Com.

Speaker 7 (13:50):
Yeah, Sam has music.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
News, Jody, how does a George Michael biopick sound?

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Only if it's perfect, it sounds crazy happening.

Speaker 7 (14:00):
Sam's gotten music news.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
So Andrew Ridgley, the other guy in Wham, has a
book coming out next week called Wham George and Me.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
He was the dear friend to George.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Yeah, I found out George approved, I know, reading a
little bit about it. Actually they met in nineteen seventy five.
They had friends since the mid seventh Oh really, I know.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
That's why they formed a group together. They were comfortable
working together. Friends.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
And so the book is coming out next week, and
he said there is already talk about maybe adopting it
and making a bio pick out of it, because a
lot of the book is about his friendship with George
and things that George.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Did, So it would be a biopick about both of
them or just George.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
Well, I'm sure he'd have to figure I mean down
for just George. I'm sure he'd have to figure into it.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Yeah, he has to, you know, I mean, if it
mirrors reality, he'll be in the early.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Part in it at all.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
But I would want that He'll be a raised from history.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
I would want a biopick not just about Wham, but
about the man George Michael that's all.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Yeah, Well, I'm sure it would take up most of
the biopick.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Well now, and I mean I would think Andrew Rigally
would be the guy to tell that because when they
really took off, they were a duo.

Speaker 4 (15:02):
Yeah, but after that, George, there was a lot after that.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
You want, you do want to erase Andrew from three,
But didn't. I mean, Andrew and him were still friends.
That's the whole myth about it. Everybody jokes about, you know,
Andrew originally being quote unquote irrelevant, but the truth is
they remained very friend, very good friends.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
Right.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Weren't they connected to Michael George's solo.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Career, Yeah, they were. And then when they had all
the tributes after George passed away, Andrew was involved in
all of that.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
That's what I thought. Yeah, so maybe he is the
one to tell the story. Jodi also got some news
about Garth.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
He is now going to be the recipient of the
Gershwin Prize for next year and the Gershwind Prize. It's
actually he's fifty seven, so he'll be the youngest recipient.
And this is given out to an artist for their
songwriting achievements. McCartney's Got It, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel,
Willie Nelson, people you may have heard of before.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
You know what, one of my favorite songs is shameless. Yeah,
he performs that on the right.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Billy Joel wrote that song.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
This took place in Washington, DC next March and they'll
air it on PBS and also too, don't forget. In November,
we're going to have that special that's going to be
on A and E about Garth Brooks.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
But the outside pressure was about to crack.

Speaker 10 (16:09):
Imagine you're going to get the worst field of your
mom Try swallowing those thoughts.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
I say goodbut the music for it.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
That's not light.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
November twenty fourth and twenty fifth on A and E.
Followed the next day on the twenty sixth, by Garth's
Yankee Stadium concert on A and E.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
So it's Garth week Murphy.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Seven Jody Music News Coming up next, Grateful Friday continues,
What little or big things are you grateful for right now?
We love hearing about them? Eight seven seven three one
zero for MSJ and Jessica, you.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Are next Grateful Friday. We love to do it.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
We like to hear about the little and big things
that you're grateful for right now. Eight seven seven three
one zero for MSJ.

Speaker 9 (16:49):
Let's go on, Jessica, I was just calling to to
tell you, guys, mind Grateful Friday. I have a son
who's special need, been nonverbal, and I'm super grateful for
the people that help him in the way that I can't.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Who are those people therapists or caregivers or yeah.

Speaker 9 (17:13):
A therapists and his teachers. Yeah, he's almost five, so
he's in pre K and he was able to get
into the special needs program last year, and so he's
had two steps of teachers, and he's had quite a
few therapists, and all of them have just been super loving.
And as I'm sorry, I don't mean.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
I've been super It's okay, yes, no, just let's makes
it real to you.

Speaker 9 (17:40):
I get it as a special needs parent. I just
want people to love him and not judge him or
just love him even though they don't understand him. And
it's really surprising when you do find people like that.
They don't care, they don't ask questions, they just love him.
And I'm really thankful for that.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
I think the world is even though there's a lot
going wrong with the world, this world is more open
with all this more communication and people are understanding really yeah.

Speaker 9 (18:08):
Yeah, a lot more acceptances.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Right.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
I have a cousin who a cousin whose daughter is nonverbal,
and the education with her just being in our family
has been unbelievable. She's nonverbal, but that does not mean
she doesn't communicate. She certainly does.

Speaker 9 (18:23):
Oh yeah, And I just came across a quote a
couple of days ago that says love needs no words,
and I was like, oh, my gosh, that's so true.
As much as I would love to know what my
son is thinking or dreaming about, or what its servant
color is, he absolutely does not need to speak a
single word to let me know that he loves me. Right,
And it's an amazing feeling.

Speaker 4 (18:44):
Thank you for calling and sharing this. I know how
grateful you are for them, and rightly so.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
We appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
Jessica eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ to
join us.

Speaker 7 (18:56):
Coming up, Judy, You're a Hollywood It's true.

Speaker 4 (18:59):
Taylor'sweist recently freaked out about a banana and we've got
it for you next.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
Judy's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
Taylor Swift is in New York right now because she's
the musical guest on SNL this weekend. So she was
making the rounds and she sat down with Jimmy Fallon
last night on the Tonight Show, and she she seemed
surprised that He's like, hey, you had lasik surgery recently,
and she was like, I don't tell people that.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
How do you know that?

Speaker 4 (19:25):
And he's like, well, your mom may have videotaped you
after when you were loopy, and we have the video
and it's for real. There's a video of her with
the goggles on and trying you know, when you try
to rip a banana off of a bunch yea and
the stem that.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
Yeah, this is the video.

Speaker 7 (19:43):
She found a snack. I wasn't the one I wanted.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
Stop you can't cry, does not what you're doing.

Speaker 7 (19:53):
I try to get this one. I'm going to get you, Okay,
but what do we do with this? Now?

Speaker 4 (20:00):
It it's mine, but it doesn't have a head, okay, And.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Then she don't gets in bed and tries to eat
the banana.

Speaker 7 (20:09):
You don't sleep eating a banana. I'm not asleep. My
mind is alive, superloopy.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
She just wrote another lyric, mind is alive exactly and
her mom. I did give that video to Jimmy Fallon
and now it is out there.

Speaker 7 (20:26):
Murphy, Sam and Jody your Hollyween.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Coming up next, Grateful Friday continues. We want to hear
about what you're grateful for. Eight seven seven three one
zero for MSJ and Rosa. You are next. We love
hearing from you. It's Grateful Friday. So jump in and
let us know about the little and big things you
are grateful for right.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Now, little positive vibes this morning.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
Eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
What are you grateful for? Rosa?

Speaker 9 (20:54):
My I'm very grateful.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Has closed out my house a week ago.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
Yes, it's just been.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
Puch an amazing week and we're settling in and giving.
We have four little girls and we're giving our grouls
life we never thought we could.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Oh this is amazing.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Yes, yeah, So with four little girls. Do they did
two of them and two of them share bedrooms? Or
does everybody have their own space?

Speaker 5 (21:20):
We actually were able to buy what we consider our
dream house and we have five bedrooms in the house.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Well, everyone has.

Speaker 5 (21:27):
Their own room and own space, and it's just like
living a dream because it's something that we never thought
we'd be able to do.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Exactly an unreal week. So happy for you today, Yes,
so awesome. Awesome.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
Now with four girls, I hope you teach them to
help you clean that big house.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Oh, they're definitely helping me.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Yes, able to do it with us, right, Also, hope
you have five bathrooms too?

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Oh haha, we have three. It's plenty. Yeah, that should
be plenty.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Well, congrats on that, seriously, that's a very We've never
had anybody.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Call for that reason.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Yeah, and that's awesome.

Speaker 4 (22:09):
Oh that's a big one. Not just a house, but
a big thing to be grateful for. And with the
kids picking up that thing. Being honest, Murphy and I,
we we've always had the best intentions and we'll get
on these kicks where all right, you guys, remember you're
cleaning up now, you got to clean this up or else.
But we never had the clear plan of the bathroom

(22:30):
is yours to handle, you know, the kitchen is yours
to handle, phoebe tailor. And so it gets where it
gets off track often and then we have those moments
of losing it, like pick up your shoes.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
Even when we tried, we laid a few out, but
we never we never stuck to.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Those Yeah we did that wrong. Yeah, and now they're
now whatever. It's it's all good, but it's one of
those things to know. Now you're in a new house, Arosa,
like do the do the plan ear right as you start.
Grateful Friday. I love hearing from you. Eight seven seven
three one zero four MSJ. All right, you're ready for

(23:06):
three to know today. We'll keep it fun since it's Friday.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
Halloween trees are trending this year. You may know people
who've decorated trees in their homes for Halloween before, but
now you can find them buy them everywhere. They're orange,
they're black, there's one that's candy corn colors, so it
changes color. Yeah, and you can put you know, a
witch's hat or a bat on top instead of an angel.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
Halloween trees, Yes, it's okay for the cats to get
into these fact they're part of it. Yeah, so cute,
all right.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
I also want to let you know today's the day
The Joker is now in theaters Joaquin Phoenix in this
dark psychological thriller exploring empathy in a world where nobody's
got any empathy. And some theaters, just so you know,
are banning costumes and face paint for you to go
see this.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
So just make sure before you show up like that.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Well, you spend your money and show up, then it's
you can't get man.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
It's gonna be the biggest one. Of course, there's Oscar
buzz around this movie already. And here's one of your favorites, Sam,
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. Yeah you know they're engaged. Yeah,
sorry to tell you that. Second marriage for both of them.
It looks like they're going to be getting married in December.
They've chosen a date according to Christmas. To Katie, yes,
he proposed on Valentine's Day after three years of on

(24:22):
and off dating.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
And that's three things you should know coming up next, Jody,
you got your Friday favorite for us.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Oh man, loving Prince Harry even more than we thought
after he defended his wife Megan Markle this week.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
In fun moments for this past week. That's what we
call Friday favorites.

Speaker 7 (24:40):
Jdy's Friday.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
I have quite a few. I mean, I'll do another
one next out. You're on Dallas Courtroom. But right now,
oh my gosh, chivalry with royalty, Oh my gosh, what
Prince Harry did this week I loved and we shared
it in Hollywood Outsider. Of course, Prince Harry issuing this
statement and this you know, to the public, ensuing this publication,

(25:04):
this tabloid publication, this publication that published private letters that
his wife, Megan Markle wrote, well, a letter to her
father earlier this year, and they left out big chunks
of it, so it's taken out of contact and it
really paints her in a negative light. And they published
that publishing letter a royal something like that. There's speculation

(25:28):
about the dad, but who knows. That does not matter.
There's that doesn't matter. The reason I love it.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
It's chivalrous.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
And I learned more about it since the day we
reported it, and we first heard it like two days ago.
Not only was he fiery in what this letter that
this public letter, like it's because of my deepest fear
of history repeating itself. This is Harry's words. I've seen
what happens when someone I love is commoditized to the
point that they're no longer treated or seen as a
real person. Talking about Princess Diana, I lost my mother

(25:58):
and now I watch my wife following victims at the
same powerful forces. He goes on to talk about how
hard it's been harder than you realize on both of them,
on their marriage, and they have a young child.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
This has been going on ever since they started. They
became in public.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
I love him anyway, and then he's doing this is
like standing up for his wife. But know this, there's
more to know. He released this letter, he wrote it himself,
and he did not get approval from the Queen's advisors,
everybody in the royal you.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Know, yeah, he's upset.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
He's always been a renegade since the step poker days.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
All the royals are like, wait, I mean, think about
the stuff that Camilla had been through and Charles never
stood up and said, I'm not saying.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
A thing bad about Charles. Charles something like, he's like he's.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
Not even gonna ask Grandma, yeah, and gonna stand up
for his I'm thinking, man.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
That's yeah, that's a man there.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
That is a royal man, right there.

Speaker 7 (26:52):
Murphy's Sam and Jody coming up.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Sam is the food dude.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
Yeah, I got some new drinks to tell you about.
McDonald's has a new latte and that coke has a
new energy drink. Murphy, Yeah, just for you.

Speaker 7 (27:05):
Sam always finds the new eats.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
Got a couple drinks to tell you about. McDonald's is
coming out with their first seasonal drink in more than
five years.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
Hands in the air. I saw this and I want
one now.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
It's the mcafe Cinnamon Cookie Latte.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
Think about that for a second cinnamon cookie latte, Winter Winner.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
That's happy. What were the first seasonal Oh, because they've
done the spearm I mean the spearmint shakes or is
it the shakes.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
They did a peppermint mocha one year.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Yeah, and they also did a white chocolate mocho one year.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
But then they were like, yeah, our coffee is you know,
because their coffee is always good.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
It really is.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
When we went on family vacations as kids, McDonald's coffee.
My parents are always want a coffee, and they'd pull
into McDonald's.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
Right man, Yeah, before there was coffee shops everywhere.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Yeah, back when it was a quarter. This is coming
out in November. There's sixth and also too, they're bringing
back the mcafe donut sticks with chocolate dipping sauce. Diet food, yeah,
diet food. And Coke's coming out with some new energy
drinks in January that they announced them. It's Coke Energy, Cherry,
Coke Energy, Coke Zero and Coke Zero, Cherry Energy, and

(28:14):
Murphy for comparisons sakes, I know you like red Bulls.
They're one hundred and eleven milligrams a caffeine.

Speaker 9 (28:20):
M m.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
That's for the bigger one and that's the diet ones
that I do whenever I do.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Those dibetic warning.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Yeah, these will be one hundred and fourteen milligrams, so
just about the same. Okay, more than Monster, but about
the same as a Red Bull.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
They're going to taste like cola though, but.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
They're going to taste like cokes.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
That's good because too many energy drinks taste like berries.
I mean THEOU I don't want fruity drinks.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Yeah, you know.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
Also coming to the Food Network, this one's going to
be fun. You know how they have all the cooking
contaests like cupcake cooking and all that hours. They're having
a Girl Scout Cookie Championship. They're going to get professional
chefs in there, and they have to make recipes based
on Girl Scout cookies.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
Certain creations, oh yes, ring on the thin creation.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
As long as they agree to share those recipes, I
will be perfectly happy.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Me too too.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Can you imagine like a pie with a thin mint crush?

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Yeah, get on it.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
This will be an airing in the first part of
next year, right around Girl Scout Cookie time.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Perfect.

Speaker 7 (29:16):
Thank you dude coming up with Murphy's Salm and.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
Jody another Hollywood outsider on the way.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
Man, I'm gotta let you know how I was tricked
at the mall the other day, but it turned out
pretty good.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
All right, it's Friday. Jody's all say, we have Friday
favorites coming up. Sam's got his, Jody's got two. Wow,
all the Friday.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Fave says something else this morning. I don't know if
anybody has noticed anything different about me today.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
There's less hair on your face.

Speaker 8 (29:47):
I know that.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
I do like that. By the way, you have a
baby face.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
You know you have a baby face. Now say you've.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Trimmed to go tea back.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
See that's a trick though. After you put the let
the hair grow out, and you cut it off younger, younger,
a baby face.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
Skin, Keep changing it, baby, keep on guessing.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
But that's not what I'm talking.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
You're wearing a new shirt.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
There is wearing involved.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
I didn't notice anything.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
Anybody smell me today.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Oh no, I forgot. You wore your Jimmy two cologne.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
What's it called Urban Hero?

Speaker 3 (30:19):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Strength is not one of its qualities. I'm guessing.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Well, you didn't do it.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
I don't know, since I'm new to the game.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
How much squirt? How many squirts?

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Two?

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Yeah, body squirt and I eat out side of the
next squirt.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
And that would be appropriate because those are the heat
zones at work.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Murphy, and you can say you can deny it, Murphy
always does.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
I live with you. Six squirts of a cologne bottle.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
So if I'm six, if I'm going like dressing up
and going to a Christmas party or an event, it's
probably five or six. Nice, Well, I know where to
go here, you know, the first time I'm trying.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
That's over.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
That's it's less is more when you're trying a new fragrance,
because if it's, you know, more powerful than you thought,
you're kind of.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
Be like, but see, mine's not too strong. Do you
even smell mine on me?

Speaker 3 (31:03):
I do?

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Do you really?

Speaker 3 (31:05):
When you walk near me? When you come near I have.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
A balance hang up. And in other words, if I
do two squirts on the left, room, I've got to
do two in the right. I don't know what that is.
I can't. Yeah, pray one side and not the other.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
I felt odd this morning because the squirt I put
on the I put one on this side of my neck,
the right side, and I was like, well, I should
put one on the left. Yeah, but I'm going with two,
and since you don't smell it Monday, I'll go with three. Good.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
I mean, we got all up on you. We could
smell it, but we won't do that because you know, no,
you need to get up on me. I'm happy for you, though, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
I mean I'm anxious to smell it because I am
a cologne lover.

Speaker 4 (31:41):
He's going to be the next over the Okay.

Speaker 7 (31:43):
Coming up, you're Hollywood.

Speaker 4 (31:46):
Taylor Swift really did freak out over a banana, and
so we have that video of it for you next.

Speaker 6 (31:54):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
Heard about Taylor Swift freaking out about a banana. It happened.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
So she visited the night show Jimmy Fallon last night
because she's in New York, and so he said, look,
you had lasik recently. I know this because your mom
gave me a video of you after your LASIK surgery,
all looped up, and then for sure he played it.
She's got goggles on and she's looking around for a
snack and grabs some bananas, pulls one off, and you
know how this happens some of the Sometimes the stem

(32:19):
will stay with the bunch and it's like, oh, you're
poor banana?

Speaker 7 (32:22):
Want do we do it? This? It? It's mine, but
it doesn't have a head. It's okay, I'm api.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
Don't don't cry. She's eating a banana in bed.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
Anyway, It's really funny, and she seemed surprised about the
video being given to Jimmy Fallon. Of course she's good
at seeming surprised, right. Taylor Swift in New York this
week because she is the musical guest on SNL This
Weekend with host Phoebe Waller Bridge from Fleabag.

Speaker 6 (32:54):
Up to date with Shdi's Hollywood Outsider.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Well that's going on this week. Joey's got another.

Speaker 7 (33:01):
One, Jodey's Friday Favorite.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Maybe you knew this one was coming because it was
such a beautiful moment this week that most of us witnessed.
If you saw it on social media, you saw it. Ambergeiger,
who was sentenced this week in a Dallas courtroom for
ten years in prison for the murder of this young man.
He was twenty six years old. He was in his
apartment on his sofa eating ice cream. She went into

(33:24):
his apartment, thinking that she was on her floor, going
into her apartment or going into an apartment. She went
into the wrong apartment and she shot him, thinking that
he was an intruder. She was confused, she was on
her phone. There's a whole, big, you know, story to
follow if you want to go examine the case.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
But she killed him.

Speaker 4 (33:43):
And in the courtroom right before her sentencing, the young
man Brandt, he's eighteen years old. The victim's brother was
on the stand saying, I forgive you, you know, I don't
want you to have to go to jail. And he
did something that no one really expected.

Speaker 7 (34:01):
I don't know if this is possible, but can I
give her a hug?

Speaker 1 (34:04):
Please?

Speaker 4 (34:06):
So he got up and she almost ran to him
in the courtroom and they embraced for a really long time,
and she was sobbing, and he went on to day.
The judge was crying too, I mean a lot of
people were, and it was about I forgive you. I
know that you didn't mean to do this. It can't
bring my brother back, but I forgive you. And another
thing to know here is that he's eighteen years old.

(34:27):
Did you realize that this young man who has all
this wisdom about forgiveness? And I hope you get your
life together and I'll pray for you. That's another thing
he said, is that I'll be praying for you. He
embraced her for a really long time before she was
led out of the courtroom.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Right, most people would have a tough time forgiving.

Speaker 4 (34:45):
Well, actually, the Brandt, the eighteen year old who made
that statement and made such an impression on all of us,
he probably is. He's having an easier time forgiving than
most people in the in there in the family.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Well, he did say every time he mentioned it, he said,
in this I'm speaking for myself.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
It is only for me, right, because the father has
said the dad that he forgives her, but he thinks
her sentence should have been longer.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Right.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
And I can also tell that Sam's a little overwhelmed
with what to do for lunch today because it is
National Taco Day.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
Yes it is. I don't know where to go to
get the free taco.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
Take your favorite place. There's a lot of little places
that will give.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
You a free chang. Yeah, they're either giving free or cheap.
You know, buy one, get one free things.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
You want to keep it at home.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
We've got a lot of good recipes on our website
for you National Taco Day at Murphy Salmon Jody dot com.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
Like taco pie that's good.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Pulled pork tacos that's an easy when you need to
throw a pork roast into the slow cooker.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
Now, poor instant.

Speaker 4 (35:41):
Pot place, not throw place, You're right place, gently place,
taco rice, salad, fast fish tacos, good stuff.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Speaking of fish tacos, too long, John Silvers is getting
in on Taco Day. They actually god grilled shrimp, grilled salmon,
those kind of tacos. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
Remember the first time I had a fish taco.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
I thought this is going to be odd, and I
loved it. I know.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
I think we're just go about the local restaurants too.
They're gonna be the one.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
Super taco, Murphy Salmon, Jody dot Com to get those
recipes if you want them.

Speaker 7 (36:15):
Friendly books Office.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
Right, one movie and one movie only opening this weekend,
and I am scared. I don't know if my heart
can take this. Joaquin Phoenix as Joker, you don't.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Listen to you.

Speaker 11 (36:27):
He just asked the same questions every week.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
This is less about crimes and gadgets and Batman looming
and more about a human being who's broken. This is
about somebody and they're just sent into madness. And they
said that Joaquin Phoenix lost fifty pounds.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Look who play this emaciated in some of these scenes.

Speaker 4 (36:49):
He said that was the most physically difficult part of
getting ready for this. Once he signed on, he had
to lose a lot of weight quickly, so it was
it was physically hard. It hurt him physically. I'm thinking, y'all, and.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
We don't have a Batman in this movie.

Speaker 8 (37:02):
Huh No, Okay, as far as I know, I didn't
think that it was possible for somebody to do something
better than the Heath I don't want to say better
than the Heath Ledger performer, but I mean to.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Top that because I thought Heath Ledger was the the ultimate.
This could be Oscar material.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
There was already talking about him.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
And to me, when a trailer pulls you in like
that the way this one does, my.

Speaker 11 (37:26):
Mother always tells me to smile and put on a
happy face.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
Also talking about Jaquin, who just transforms perfect.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
Oh my gosh, she's so there. Also the laugh.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Be aware that he worked on the laugh religiously to
get it down because he knows it's supposed to sound
absolutely crazy.

Speaker 7 (37:45):
Murphy Sandy Family Friendly box office review and.

Speaker 3 (37:49):
It's rated are of course, and thanks for having a song.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
All your work. Coming up later, we're going to do
another episode of the Murphy Samon Jody after the show podcast.
And there's one reason and one reason only that Sam
is going to wait till the absolute last minute to
get his real ID, you know, the driversations with the
star and all that on it.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
I got to get my money's worth.

Speaker 1 (38:10):
It's coming up in the podcast.
