a weekend now on your summer vacation. Got to start
planning for the next school year. But we're four weeks
in now. They do need to do it.

Well, that's the thing. I've said it and at the
end of this week, when that I'm with this on

we go on vacation.

thinks so, because on Netflix in August, he's gonna have
Brad Paisley's comedy Rodeo. Nice, He's gonna do stand up.

but he's gonna do stand up. Apparently, back in April
he went to a club in Nashville and he did
two nights of stand up there and so they taped
it and that's what they're gonna use for this.

That is the most brightening and brave of show business

put it to music. And so Chris Cornell was one
of the artists that got one and he did it.

I love it and I can't I can't stop thinking
of how cute this is. Okay, your neighbor has a pool, right, Sam,
in the summer, you used to go over and swim
a lot.

Okay, have you been invited yet this summer? No? You
guys are aware that people who have pools, which I don't.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
We don't have a pool, but people who have pools report,
especially in the summer, you know, little animal deaths. A
couple of times a week, a couple of frogs, frogs
in the pool. You'll find little critters and it just happens,
and there's you know, it's sad. You got to scoop
them out and you're like, let's clean this before you
swim again.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Apparently it's a common thing. I would know. We don't
have a pool. That's fine. We have a friend who
found a baby possum swimming in their pool last summer.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Right, she saved it. She saved it's life and fed
it and stuff. I think she then let it go.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Anything I would have had to scoop that out with
a big long net that was far away from.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Sure she scooped it with a net. No, No, it
was still swimming and it was just swimming endlessly and
couldn't get out. And that's why she saved it. Poor
thing was exhausted. Anyway, there's this biologist. His name is
rich Mason, and he he works for a Whilelife and
Fisheries the US Department of But he also created something
called frog log, which is a little flotation ramp that

you can put in and they've created some and people
are loving them. It's weighted down in your pool at
the bottom and it sits on the edge of your
pool with a little mesh thing. Yeah, and it has
a ramp and literally little animals who jump into your pool,
whether it's salt water or chlorina, doesn't matter, can get
out because there's a ramp. And it's saving like it's

saving people from having to scoop out dead animals in
their pool. Little things like frogs, lizards, squirrels, chipmunks.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
They get trapped in pools. There's a way out, now,
I guess I.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Ever thought about that.

You leave it in there permanently or.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
Just like in the summer when your pool is well.
I guess you could leave it in there permanently, permanently.
There's a picture of it. It is the quest thing ever.
It's it's like a little slide, except they use it
to get out.

ukrate training your dog.

Again, Well, we have we have four dogs total, okay,
but we're create training two, our pity and our foster
dog who's a boxer mix.

Okay, Well, retraining.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Create training means because they're using the bathroom in the house. Again. Well, actually,
if they were technically using the bathroom in the house,
that would be great. If they're not, they're using the floor.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
They're going on the floor and we're not going to
have that. So create training is the way. Because dogs
are den animals, they don't most of them like like
the crate. Okay, you put them in the crate for
what an hour or two, long enough for them to
to need to pee and have to they hold it
in the contained area. That's the trick they hold it
because they don't want to use the bathroom there. So
then you take them out like five six times a

day and reward the heck out of and when they
do it outside.

That's great training got you.

Well, there's a couple of people on Facebook that agreed
with you, thought that it was the greatest thing ever.
Bridget says that create training is the best with four
exclamation marks. Nice ever comes their safe place and they
know that they're safe. I had a dog named Rosie
who would go to her crate, cover herself with a
blanket and not move until she was called.

Oh, I've always wanted a dog that could do that
sort of thing. I've seen them online. Our dogs don't
do that. They dig in the garbage anyway, thank you, Bridget.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Awesome.

Yeah, and Sue says it might help to cover them
as it makes them more den like my dogs don't
create well if they're uncovered.

You know, our crates are wire crates, so yeah, you
can see out and up. I've seen people put a
blank over the great makes it even feel more.

That's why an old doghouse, you know, dogs like doghouses
do m that's easy.

Yeah, they do love it and you know, it's a
misconception that it's jail or and there's some people that
feel that way about it.

If you make get a penalty place, then that's what
it becomes. But if it's their home and if it's
their safe place, yeah, it's much easier to train them,
totally true. And it's safer too. Like when guests come over,
it's right, they just go kindle up.

You can't leave them in there longer than they can
hold it. You know, it's it's working. It is working.
They love it. When I say the words kennel up,
they know exactly what I mean. In the pit, she
just runs right in there. I also sometimes give them
a nice little chew once they're in there, also to
make it a happy, rewarding place. So I am also
amazed at it's like duh, I told Murphy late last week, Doug,

we know what to do, we're just not doing it.

It's about us being consistent.

So I'm wondering if they spent some time trying to.

Figure out who else could do it, auditioning other comedians
to do it. It's now been announced, like a day ago,
that Alec Baldwin will be bringing back his Trump impersonation
two Saturday Night Live this fall.

Didn't they use him on every episode this past season?
It seemed like.

They surely did. And the thing about it is he
said it was Hairy's jaw. It got to where he
couldn't because he it's such an exaggerated thing. He sticks
his jaw out that for him, I mean, that's part
of the job and part of the gig, and it
really is ultimately up to him. And maybe he got
a break from for a little while probably and felt
differently about it, because how can you go forward in

a show like that and not give the audience that
after this past season that you've had. So he said
his fall schedule will keep the number of his his
impersonations and I guess you know visits to the show
to a minimum, but you can expect it, in his words,
a couple of cellery sticks rather than a whole meal
of him doing oh impersonation.

apparently all he's wanted to do is put on that

and Kevin Bacon would come back in his role and
executive produce. Interesting no idea where it would land to

my family. I had bad dreams all night news.

Yeah, and that first episode is like watching paint dry.

It takes that's so long exactly that first episode. I
could have sworn it was three hours long.

should be a really long night of angst. Without giving

all in. But yes, I had bad dreams at night.

Yeah, the rest of the season is not as slow

a getaway and escape from all the choices.

a certain amount of panic packing panic? I'm thinking I'm
mister cool about it, but I'm not you do you

I got anxiety about it.

I'm making sure what exactly do you think that you want?

Because I want to have the choices. Okay, I don't
want to go and just pack just enough clothes for
what I need. I want to smart way to I
might want to wear this shirt or I might want
to wear that, you know, keep me with all the Chucks.
You know, you got to have a few pairs of Chucks.

And that was separate suitcase just for that.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Yeah, and so it's like I'm worrying about the wrong things.
I think we're worrying about the wrong things life in general.

Yeah, well, my packing panic has really nothing to do
with clothes, all of them. Careful about that and Jody's advice,
I am glad that you gave me the advice packed
on one more day than what you're actually going because
the last time I traveled, there was a shirt that
was messed up I didn't know it when it was
in my suitcase. But it's not that it's all the
diabetes junk that I have to carry with me. I
guess I shouldn't call.

It junk, life saving life saving.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Medication, but yeah, but you know when all the prep
that goes with making sure I've got pumps, you know,
insulin pump supplies and checking blood sugar and all that
stuff is stressful because I forget it. Yeah, I can't
go down the street and buy that at Walmart, you
know what I mean, those things, But that's the only thing.

Pharmacies are connected.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
These they are. But still, and you've got business meetings.
It's going to be tough to arrange all that and
make sure you've got it on time, you know.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Yeah, so well you have a checklist though, right, you
have a check you know what you have to have
do and so it's a good idea. In fact, I
realized that the last time we went to the beach.
For example, when I got home, I thought, I need
to have a beach checklist, because when I got there,
we have sixteen buckets in the pantry in our storage room.
Rather and I got there and there was no bucket
for Phoebe to do sand castles.

It was like beach man.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
I missed being like twenty five because when I was
twenty five now, the beach packing list was two things
bathing suit and beers.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Double bag and go. I know, So, what are you
gonna do this time? You have a list, Sam, to
ease your anxiety.

I don't have a list. I just deal with it.
I mean, I just but a list makes.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
It easier, especially for the things that you're gonna do
every time. Anyway, if it's important to you, that part
doesn't change. The list is a lifesaver for me. I
panic when I can't find the list.

everybody to the house for a special night.

Because Taylor and Phoebe are in a drama camp. They
were last week and they're all this week and there's
a Lion King performance at the end of the camp.
Lots of singing happening, some musical Lion King Junior. So
they've been practicing and Phoebe is young Nala, so she
has a pretty significant number with Simba can't wait to
be King.

She's in that.

Taylor is ed the laughing hyena and that's really all
she's doing is the goofy laughing and she's been working
on that. It's so cute because she wanted a bigger role,
but as soon as she got cast this, she said,
I'm just gonna rock it. I'm just gonna be the
goofy ed and her job is to make us all laugh.
So to me, we did this camp. It's a two

weeks and at the end the first year we did
it was a Friday night performance, so I just this
is what I get for assuming. Here's the problem with
Mom's assuming or thinking. I invite you know, my mom,
Murphy's dad, some family.

That I know want to come.

Some friends that I know said they want to come
and say, hey, Friday night is the performance, right, and
afterwards come to our house for you know, cake and
coffee or whatever Friday night.

Who Jody likes using their ice cream dishes? Yeah, that's
what that's about.

Thursday. So guess what the next phone call was. We're

But that's also we have to work Friday morning, so

It's very simple. When you do your ribs, boil them
first in root beer with garlic and salt.

Now it's gonna take a pound of butter, and then
all you do is get some of that sweet Baby

together and to just baste it. When you put it
on the grill. It's amazing, I believe, absolutely amazing. It
is so good and it's lip smacking. You make your
eyes go back in your head.

You put butter in the boil, or butter in the
in the basting mix.

Oh, you buttered it. You put the butter in the basting.
You want that flame to come up. You want that
butter to drip down and that sugar to drip down
in that flame. You know, to flame it off. Man,
it's so simple, so easy, and you don't have to
sit there for hours and making your own barbecue sauce.
But the thing is you can claim it as your
own because you're putting ingredients together and it works like a.

Thank goodness, I had the sense to buy a practice table,
a small one, and I sand it and I painted
one coat, and I'm like, I hate doing this.

I'm not good at it. It's not for me. All
the positive thinking and I had made a big deal
of I'm going to do your table for you, and
I'm going to practice and get good at on a
on a practice table. That was Mother's Day, like, I
had made a big deal of Mother's Day for that like,
and she was excited. She started sending me pictures from
Pinterest of what she wanted and it was distressed and beautiful.

Little did she know, Yeah.

Yeah, well, so I had to want heart to heart
with her about it. The other day we went shopping together,
and so in the car I explained to her, you know,
I really am not gonna I'm not gonna be able
to do this. It's just it's we're better off buying
you something new or whatever. And she was like, you know, Jodie,
you are when you do furniture pieces. You you do
something and then you wait and then you do have

to do something else and let it sit for a day.
It's something that requires a lot of patience and you
just don't have that. She knows me, and she is
totally fine with me not doing this. Isn't that great?

two problems that I have with slacks anyway when I
wear them. Number One, every pair of pants I have, you.

Okay, I shouldn't call them that for their dress pants.
But I have a hole in every pocket on purpose,
because because that's the way that I get my you know,
insulin pump, the infusion set through it. It's just that
way you can carry in your pocket and I have
to strap it to anything else. You know, it's easy,
easy to carry. But these the pants that I have
right now have this little yeah, and it's not really

a hidden compartment. I guess you could call it a
change pocket. It's a little bitty separator with a teeny
little pocket, which I don't really know if that thing
even really serves a great purpose anymore, because my pump
got stuck in it this morning. I almost couldn't pull
my pump out because it fits like a glove there.
And then when you lose change in that little bitty pocket,
you can't get it out with your hand. You got

to do the two finger thing and hope.

Yeah, I feel it's just like jeans. You know, blue

Alec Baldwin said to reprise a role that just about
everybody wants to see him in. There's some new legislation
being voted on today, well by a committee anyway before
it can go on to the House and Senate, but
it's being voted on today. This sounds good to me,
especially after what happened in April on that flight where
that doctor was dragged off the flight that we all

saw and it's horrible. This is new legislation to prevent
airlines from forcibly removing passengers from an overbooked flight. And
it's you know, gonna regulate the compensation if you arrive
and it's overbooked and you're asked to I'm sorry, don't
get on the plane. Right, They're gonna change the way
they regulate compensation.

of how cute this is. Okay, your neighbor has a pool, right, Sam,
in the summer, you used to go over and swim
a lot.

Okay, have you been invited yet this summer? No? You
guys are aware that people who have pools, which I don't.

We don't have a pool, but people who have pools report,
especially in the summer, you know, little animal deaths. A
couple of times a week, a couple of frogs, frogs
in the pool. You'll find little critters and it just happens,
and there's you know, it's sad. You got to scoop
them out and you're like, let's clean this before you
swim again.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Apparently it's a common thing. I would know. We don't
have a pool. That's fine. We have a friend who
found a baby possum swimming in their pool last summer.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Right, she saved it. She saved it's life and fed
it and stuff. I think she then let it go.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Anything I would have had to scoop that out with
a big long net that was far away from.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Sure she scooped it with a net. No, No, it
was still swimming and it was just swimming endlessly and
couldn't get out. And that's why she saved it. Poor
thing was exhausted. Anyway, there's this biologist. His name is
rich Mason, and he he works for a Whilelife and
Fisheries the US Department of But he also created something
called frog log, which is a little flotation ramp that

you can put in and they've created some and people
are loving them. It's weighted down in your pool at
the bottom and it sits on the edge of your
pool with a little mesh thing. Yeah, and it has
a ramp and literally little animals who jump into your pool,
whether it's salt water or chlorina, doesn't matter, can get
out because there's a ramp. And it's saving like it's

saving people from having to scoop out dead animals in
their pool. Little things like frogs, lizards, squirrels, chipmunks.

They get trapped in pools. There's a way out, now,
I guess I.

Ever thought about that.

You leave it in there permanently or.

Just like in the summer when your pool is well.

ukrate training your dog.

Again, Well, we have we have four dogs total, okay,
but we're create training two, our pity and our foster
dog who's a boxer mix.

Okay, Well, retraining.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Create training means because they're using the bathroom in the house. Again. Well, actually,
if they were technically using the bathroom in the house,
that would be great. If they're not, they're using the floor.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
They're going on the floor and we're not going to
have that. So create training is the way. Because dogs
are den animals, they don't most of them like like
the crate. Okay, you put them in the crate for
what an hour or two, long enough for them to
to need to pee and have to they hold it
in the contained area. That's the trick they hold it
because they don't want to use the bathroom there. So
then you take them out like five six times a

day and reward the heck out of and when they
do it outside.

Well, there's a couple of people on Facebook that agreed
with you, thought that it was the greatest thing ever.
Bridget says that create training is the best with four
exclamation marks. Nice ever comes their safe place and they
know that they're safe. I had a dog named Rosie
who would go to her crate, cover herself with a
blanket and not move until she was called.

Oh, I've always wanted a dog that could do that
sort of thing. I've seen them online. Our dogs don't
do that. They dig in the garbage anyway, thank you, Bridget.

Yeah, and Sue says it might help to cover them
as it makes them more den like my dogs don't
create well if they're uncovered.

You know, our crates are wire crates, so yeah, you
can see out and up. I've seen people put a
blank over the great makes it even feel more.

That's why an old doghouse, you know, dogs like doghouses
do m that's easy.

Yeah, they do love it and you know, it's a
misconception that it's jail or and there's some people that
feel that way about it.

If you make get a penalty place, then that's what
it becomes. But if it's their home and if it's
their safe place, yeah, it's much easier to train them,
totally true. And it's safer too. Like when guests come over,
it's right, they just go kindle up.

You can't leave them in there longer than they can
hold it. You know, it's it's working. It is working.
They love it. When I say the words kennel up,
they know exactly what I mean. In the pit, she
just runs right in there. I also sometimes give them
a nice little chew once they're in there, also to
make it a happy, rewarding place. So I am also
amazed at it's like duh, I told Murphy late last week, Doug,
(13:46):
we know what to do, we're just not doing it.

It's about us being consistent.

a couple of months ago, Alec Baldwin told the world
that he was not going to do the President Trump
impersonation anymore.

So I'm wondering if they spent some time trying to.

Figure out who else could do it, auditioning other comedians
to do it. It's now been announced, like a day ago,
that Alec Baldwin will be bringing back his Trump impersonation
two Saturday Night Live this fall.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Didn't they use him on every episode this past season?
It seemed like.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
They surely did. And the thing about it is he
said it was Hairy's jaw. It got to where he
couldn't because he it's such an exaggerated thing. He sticks
his jaw out that for him, I mean, that's part
of the job and part of the gig, and it
really is ultimately up to him. And maybe he got
a break from for a little while probably and felt
differently about it, because how can you go forward in

a show like that and not give the audience that
after this past season that you've had. So he said
his fall schedule will keep the number of his his
impersonations and I guess you know visits to the show
to a minimum, but you can expect it, in his words,
a couple of cellery sticks rather than a whole meal
of him doing oh impersonation.

it went over really well and it made a hunt.
I don't know, it made a bunch of a bunch

They're talking about the sequel and that he's going to
be on board for doing it.

apparently all he's wanted to do is put on that
batsuit and keep it on and that didn't work.

It takes that's so long exactly that first episode. I
could have sworn it was three hours long.

that happened at the end of season two, it probably
should be a really long night of angst. Without giving

all in. But yes, I had bad dreams at night.

mister cool about it, but I'm not you do you

I got anxiety about it.

I'm making sure what exactly do you think that you want?

Because I want to have the choices. Okay, I don't
want to go and just pack just enough clothes for
what I need. I want to smart way to I
might want to wear this shirt or I might want
to wear that, you know, keep me with all the Chucks.
You know, you got to have a few pairs of Chucks.

And that was separate suitcase just for that.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
Yeah, and so it's like I'm worrying about the wrong things.
I think we're worrying about the wrong things life in general.

Yeah, well, my packing panic has really nothing to do
with clothes, all of them. Careful about that and Jody's advice,
I am glad that you gave me the advice packed
on one more day than what you're actually going because
the last time I traveled, there was a shirt that
was messed up I didn't know it when it was
in my suitcase. But it's not that it's all the
diabetes junk that I have to carry with me. I
guess I shouldn't call.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
It junk, life saving life saving.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Medication, but yeah, but you know when all the prep
that goes with making sure I've got pumps, you know,
insulin pump supplies and checking blood sugar and all that
stuff is stressful because I forget it. Yeah, I can't
go down the street and buy that at Walmart, you
know what I mean, those things, But that's the only thing.

Pharmacies are connected.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
These they are. But still, and you've got business meetings.
It's going to be tough to arrange all that and
make sure you've got it on time, you know.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Yeah, so well you have a checklist though, right, you
have a check you know what you have to have
do and so it's a good idea. In fact, I
realized that the last time we went to the beach.
For example, when I got home, I thought, I need
to have a beach checklist, because when I got there,
we have sixteen buckets in the pantry in our storage room.
Rather and I got there and there was no bucket
for Phoebe to do sand castles.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
It was like beach man.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
I missed being like twenty five because when I was
twenty five now, the beach packing list was two things
bathing suit and beers.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Double bag and go. I know, So, what are you
gonna do this time? You have a list, Sam, to
ease your anxiety.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
I don't have a list. I just deal with it.
I mean, I just but a list makes.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
It easier, especially for the things that you're gonna do
every time. Anyway, if it's important to you, that part
doesn't change. The list is a lifesaver for me. I
panic when I can't find the list.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
We're gonna find a way to panic, aren't we.

It sounds like, all right, coming up next, I invited
everybody to the house for a special night.

Because Taylor and Phoebe are in a drama camp. They
were last week and they're all this week and there's
a Lion King performance at the end of the camp.
Lots of singing happening, some musical Lion King Junior. So
they've been practicing and Phoebe is young Nala, so she
has a pretty significant number with Simba can't wait to
be King.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
She's in that.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Taylor is ed the laughing hyena and that's really all
she's doing is the goofy laughing and she's been working
on that. It's so cute because she wanted a bigger role,
but as soon as she got cast this, she said,
I'm just gonna rock it. I'm just gonna be the
goofy ed and her job is to make us all laugh.
So to me, we did this camp. It's a two

weeks and at the end the first year we did
it was a Friday night performance, so I just this
is what I get for assuming. Here's the problem with
Mom's assuming or thinking. I invite you know, my mom,
Murphy's dad, some family.

That I know want to come.

Some friends that I know said they want to come
and say, hey, Friday night is the performance, right, and
afterwards come to our house for you know, cake and
coffee or whatever Friday night.

Who Jody likes using their ice cream dishes? Yeah, that's
what that's about.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Dessert dishes.

The play is Thursday, not Friday.

Thursday. So guess what the next phone call was. We're

I had to back way. Yeah, correction to everybody. It's
Thursday night, same time, same you know, general admission price.

But that's also we have to work Friday morning, so
it's kind of like I'm hosting.

It's very simple. When you do your ribs, boil them
first in root beer with garlic and salt.

Now it's gonna take a pound of butter, and then
all you do is get some of that sweet Baby

vinegar and a small jar of kalapenno mix set all

together and to just baste it. When you put it
on the grill. It's amazing, I believe, absolutely amazing. It
is so good and it's lip smacking. You make your
eyes go back in your head.

You put butter in the boil, or butter in the
in the basting mix.

Oh, you buttered it. You put the butter in the basting.
You want that flame to come up. You want that
butter to drip down and that sugar to drip down
in that flame. You know, to flame it off. Man,
it's so simple, so easy, and you don't have to
sit there for hours and making your own barbecue sauce.
But the thing is you can claim it as your
own because you're putting ingredients together and it works like a.

because she's pulled it off. But this distress table became
a stress source thing.

So I've had a practice table.

Thank goodness, I had the sense to buy a practice table,
a small one, and I sand it and I painted
one coat, and I'm like, I hate doing this.

I'm not good at it. It's not for me. All
the positive thinking and I had made a big deal
of I'm going to do your table for you, and
I'm going to practice and get good at on a
on a practice table. That was Mother's Day, like, I
had made a big deal of Mother's Day for that like,
and she was excited. She started sending me pictures from
Pinterest of what she wanted and it was distressed and beautiful.

Little did she know, Yeah.

Yeah, well, so I had to want heart to heart
with her about it. The other day we went shopping together,
and so in the car I explained to her, you know,
I really am not gonna I'm not gonna be able
to do this. It's just it's we're better off buying
you something new or whatever. And she was like, you know, Jodie,
you are when you do furniture pieces. You you do
something and then you wait and then you do have

to do something else and let it sit for a day.
It's something that requires a lot of patience and you
just don't have that. She knows me, and she is
totally fine with me not doing this. Isn't that great?

Now, you know. The thing is, well, there are already
two problems that I have with slacks anyway when I
wear them. Number One, every pair of pants I have, you.

Call them slacks for one thing.

Okay, I shouldn't call them that for their dress pants.
But I have a hole in every pocket on purpose,
because because that's the way that I get my you know,
insulin pump, the infusion set through it. It's just that
way you can carry in your pocket and I have
to strap it to anything else. You know, it's easy,
easy to carry. But these the pants that I have
right now have this little yeah, and it's not really

a hidden compartment. I guess you could call it a
change pocket. It's a little bitty separator with a teeny
little pocket, which I don't really know if that thing
even really serves a great purpose anymore, because my pump
got stuck in it this morning. I almost couldn't pull
my pump out because it fits like a glove there.
And then when you lose change in that little bitty pocket,
you can't get it out with your hand. You got

to do the two finger thing and hope.

That you're able to know what that pockets were either.

Yeah, I feel it's just like jeans. You know, blue
jeans have.

actually inside the pocket.

These must only be man jeans because I don't have
little hidden pockets.

Well, I mean, I'm not wearing jeans right now. I'm

One quarter problem is I mean, it's inside the pocket,
so whatever you drop in there is going to go
in there and potentially get stuck my little bluetooth headset.
I had a heck of a time getting that out
the other day. I mean, I'm sure people were looking
at me like I'm crazy. It's like, man, what are
you looking for?

Well, I'm going to be Martha Stewart here for a second.

Yeah? Sure, okay, you know what I mean, maybe maybe
that would work. I didn't think about that.

Oh yeah, yeah, that's problem.

We still leave the whole big pocket. You just cut
the three sides of the little pocket.

Yeah, but you kind of be strategic about that and
make sure it's really separate, Shane. Yeah, what if it's
so together in a way where you think it's separate
but it's not and your pants hit the floor.

Okay, coming up the unusual but sweet question. I was
asked about Christmas and who's got a fidget spinner they
can't put down?

Part of my Father's Day gift. From my son Jackson.

So why did you think you needed a fidget spinner?

He has one or two of them, and we went
shopping for one, you know, when he wanted it, and
I was playing with him too, so I guess he
thought maybe Dad would want one.

There are different types, right, some of them that spent
on their own and some that you have to make spin.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Is that correct?
Speaker 4 (36:42):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (36:42):
You have to make it spiny, so we all have.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
They all have ball bearings in them. Some are two sided,
some have three like yours there is three whatever.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
Now they're all like this, like a triangle shape.

What's funny about you?

Is earlier this morning you were like, it's I don't
it doesn't do anything for me. However, No, I've been
watching you all morning and you cannot stop.

You know why. I think it's because when he gave
it to me, and it was at the party over
the weekend, I didn't really have time.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
To learn how to use it.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
I took it out and I spun it, and it's like, okay,
this is no fun. But then sitting here and just talking,
I realized, hey, you have this gone on?
Speaker 2 (37:15):
Any feeling about it? Is it soothing you, is it?
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Yeah, it's actually kind of fun.
Speaker 2 (37:19):

Well, see I couldn't make it spin like that. Maybe
I'm just doing it wrong.

I see what he's doing is.

Your ring finger. At least that's what Jack told me.
And it seems to be working nice. It doesn't really
accomplish anything, but it's kind of If it's almost.

Your mind occupied and calms you, then it accomplishes something.

It is kind of calm.

The only thing that is tricky about it, as I
can see, is I'm not looking at you now, I'm
looking at the fidgets.

What happens with other kids in classrooms They come fascinated
with the fidget spinner, so one kid gets focused and
the others are are not focused.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
Yeah, that's why some teachers say, like it, and you
have it. But under the desk some people say no,
I can't see that.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
I mean, just sitting here doing this this stuff could
be annoying if ten kids had.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
The last time I went shopping, I was, you know,
in a mall, walking past one of those chiosks, not
the one where they're asking you if you want a
sample of something. But but it was just a bunch
of fidget spinners. Yeah, every color, every size, whatever. And
I thought, man, this is one of those things that
in a few years from now they're going to be
at the bottom of your.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Oh no, that's six months from now, will probably be.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Over with Yeah, but they'll be there'll be millions around.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
But it's fun while it lasted.

Alec Baldwin said to reprise a role that just about
everybody wants to see him in. There's some new legislation
being voted on today, well by a committee anyway before
it can go on to the House and Senate, but
it's being voted on today. This sounds good to me,
especially after what happened in April on that flight where
that doctor was dragged off the flight that we all

saw and it's horrible. This is new legislation to prevent
airlines from forcibly removing passengers from an overbooked flight. And
it's you know, gonna regulate the compensation if you arrive
and it's overbooked and you're asked to I'm sorry, don't
get on the plane. Right, They're gonna change the way
they regulate compensation.

When that video surfaced and we saw that, and after
I was I was like, I was surprised that I
didn't know that could happen, that somebody could be dragged
off the plane.

I went back in my mind a few years ago
to a trip I was coming home from. I went
to visit my cousins. I was by myself, Yeah, and
I was brought onto a plane and I got on
the plane and then I was asked to get off
the plane and then I was brought back on the plane.

People, no, no, just me.

It was it was a problem with my ticket or
my They had asked me if I wanted to, you know,
give up my flight for a voucher or whatever, and
I was like, you know, I really don't. I really
want to go home. And but it was back and forth.

And so there was no.

won a state district spelling bee. I'm assuming he didn't

I also heard that he kept his job at some
law firm or tax firm while he was trying to
launch his music career. It was not one of these
people that went all in because he needed to pay
the rents.

Yeah, well most can't. You know what I mean? While
you're doing that, you're kind of doing something on the side.

own comedy special called Brad pais Brad Paisley's Comedy Rodeo.
It's going to be a couple other comedians. And then
he actually back in April went to a comedy club
in Nashville and did two nights or at the stand
up all right, So someone that I'll be put in
with this.

What's cool about him? In his comedy? His comedy. Is
that older school country comedy. It's kind of like, I'm
sorry to say it, it's he Hawk. He likes that
older cornball. It is cornball, thank you.
