Speaker 1 (00:03):
Gotta find some fun, gotta find the Bryce spots. Really,
you should do that every day, even if something like
COVID is not going on right. But we do have
this week's Friday Favorites.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Sam's Friday Favorite.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Sam is up first.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Yeah, mine is Keith Urban. Jody, I don't is it
really long to him?
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Yeah, Jody loves Keith Urban.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Keith Urban's been one of those artists that's been doing
some performing live streaming it for all of us, like
thirty minutes little concerts he's done. He's done a couple
of these, and the one he did this week was
he had a little part in there where he tributed
Kenny Rodgers lost Kenny Rodgers this past weekend. Couldn't figure
out what song to pick though. I mean, it's hard
to narrow it down to one song, probably the most
(00:44):
iconic around the world.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Sing it home because I haven't played it in.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah, it's a song I haven't played in twenty five years.
And this is how it starts.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Sous dreams.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
You do you understand that I never even care for
that song and now he's singing it.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
Please record it, Keith.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Maybe you want to sing along with him.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
You got.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Wend the Hole.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
By the way, man he is, he just got more
soul in his voice. Nothing against Kenny Rodgers. I mean
that's the iconic version iconic song with you, but man,
he adds something to it. Huh.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
Yeah, I'm all warm now.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
And there's nobody else there but him and Nicole, and
she keeps coming in and swipping swa she's like his
guitar to swapping out his guitars and stuff.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
He's got her trained. Well huh.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
They're my favorite celebrity couple. And I just love to
hear him sing.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
By the way, he is going to be still hosting
that a c M thing in April right where they
get the videos from all the different artists. They're gonna
do it.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
More in living room style, which is the new way,
which we are all loving truly because there's something more
and here's the overused word organic about it. You know,
entertainment has gotten really real because of all of this.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
Can we have a little more to take us out?
Speaker 4 (02:13):
Oh my gosh, I can I just go to sleep now,
go to bed.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Morning when you're sitting at the table the town of County.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Wow, that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Murphy's Sam and Jody all.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Right, Jody's got your first Hollywood Outsider coming up.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Really cool stuff that Taylor Swift is doing right now
for fans, one of the best I've ever heard. And
we brought a friend to work this morning and she
doesn't like Sam.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
I hope you are looking forward to a good weekend.
I mean, I was going to say that.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
You know, it's maybe you won't even know what David is.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
I don't know if it's really I mean, obviously for
those who are working every day, I mean, like us,
we're actually still coming up into the studio every day.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
Are sanitized clean, nobody else allowed studios.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
You're one of the only, you know, group of people
in this entire building right now, which is kind of weird.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Yeah, we got free rain right.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
I'm actually the only lady girl in the building for weeks,
and I'm I'm.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Just saying, this isn't a survival episod no.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
But what I'm saying is it jumped out to me
because I'm the only one using the ladies room.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
Wow, super clean.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Well that's all for what you know, you're the only one.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
I am the only one.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
So the point I was going to make, I suppose
is that you know, even though the weekend is here,
it's different for everybody. Some people have already been at home,
some people have been you know, working a lot. So uh. Anyway,
we hope it's good for you to catch up on
anything you might have missed here in the Murphy, Simon
and Jodi podcast.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Some of you, it's a thirty day weekend.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Yeah, yeah, that's about right. So one of the things
that I needed today to make me happy, and Murphy
was down with it, was to bring Layla to work today.
My blue pit bull, Layla, who I adore and she
and I are. She's my queen dog and she's laying
here on the floor. But Murphy, you missed this when
(04:05):
you first brought her into the room to me and
then you had to go to your office for a
little while. Sam was getting to know her, and Sam
was making some classic mistakes when you meet a new dog,
and you know, Sam, when you meet a new dog,
you just stay calm and you pet them gently. You
don't start barking. Sam makes dog noises to dog mm hmm.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
And what did Layla do?
Speaker 3 (04:27):
I think she barks?
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Yeah, yeah, she.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Scared you right, yeah twice, Like he didn't learn his lesson.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Well, the second time wasn't I was just like saying
something to you.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
You were doing weird noises.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
Yeah, I guess that's the way you might, you know,
play with But when you meet a new dog, and
for children listening, be calm, don't don't extend your fingers.
Only extend your fists just in case. There you know,
it's a finger bite situation that's possible.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Should we shoot a video of what to do and
what not to do?
Speaker 4 (04:54):
If you're brave enough to do it. She's the strongest
dog I've ever had.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Here's my question for you, Sam, have you ever seen
Caesar Milan bark at another dog?
Speaker 5 (05:03):
There's your answer.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Coming out Hollywood.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
Taylor Swift wins again the coolest thing she's thought of
to do. Four fans at this time who were out
of work.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
This might be my favorite entertainment story of the week.
Of course, we keep getting big ones all the time,
but Taylor Swift jumping in to help her fans.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
She had posted earlier in the.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
Week about Hey, if you want to do something during
COVID nineteen, join me in helping feed America. The Feed
America campaign and some of her fans that she's been
in contact with socially for years, you know, like the
Swifties were like, I would love to, but I can't
right now because I lost my job. But thanks Taylor
for shouting out. And Taylor was like, oh wait, So
Taylor has been stunning fans by finding their venmos and
(05:56):
their PayPal, getting permission and sending three thousand dollars each
two fans, no kidding. She sent one to a fan
named Holly. Holly got a three thousand dollars like credit
and it says, Holly, You've always been there for me.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
I want to be there for you right now.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
I hope this helps love Taylor and it shows you
got paid from Taylor Nation LLC. Wow, and it's happening
to you know, other Taylor Swift fans.
Speaker 5 (06:21):
Isn't that so super cool?
Speaker 1 (06:23):
That is very cool.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
I mean, I don't know how become.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
A Taylor Swift fan then, huh.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
Actually I think it's people who've been with her all along.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, probably so, I think that's what she said.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
And her letter up to date with Jody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
All right, coming up, we'll get the update from you. Sam.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
Are you getting the kids out of their mom quarantine
houses to come because it's your weekend, or did you
decide to put their help her safe.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
We'll stay with you, connected with you all weekend, and
you know, if you never know, Jody might even do
a Facebook live on Saturday night, kind of like we
did the last week.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
We can get Eb's guitar fixed, it'll be a family
sing along again. Sam, you can come over play Harmonica.
He's working on her guitar. It was more than just
the string, of course. Oh really, yeah, something else wrong
with it.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
It was the saddle, said the cowboy.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Yeah, I'm thinking of horse jokes now.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
The saddle goes on the bridge, which is what the
strings attached to.
Speaker 5 (07:21):
Keep talking.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
No, I thought the bridge was out by your house side.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
So does it sound impressive when I say that to you?
And I just learned it.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
It does sound impressive to me.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Do you know where they are? You?
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Randy just pointed it out to me the other day.
It's like that's how.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
Randy came over and made everything better. Per usual, we.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Were six feet apart from each other, though.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Yeah, I'm going to be spending the weekend definitely six
feet apart from my kids. It's official. Now, no kids
this weekend.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (07:47):
Was that your decision or mom? The mom's mutual?
Speaker 3 (07:51):
I mean, because I put it out there to both
the moms and it's like, look, and I gave him
the pros and the cons. You know, I'm still up here,
been up here, no symptoms. But they have a quarantine.
It's different than my quarantine.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
They could bring they could be carriers and bring it
to you.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
I gave them the vice versa. You know, I could
infect them, they could infect me. I don't know what
that's true. Both of them are like, oh, sure, haven't you.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Stayed in your normal routine of just not being associated
with anybody in public?
Speaker 3 (08:17):
And pretty much yeah, you're the cleanest one of us.
All yeah, same, and I'd be surprised if there was
something living in my house totally, but yeah, one of
the twins mom, it was like no, I mean she
knew no, Yeah, okay, cool, just checking to make sure.
Jack's mom was like we talked about that, she and
her husband, and well, we don't know. I was like, honestly,
(08:38):
it's probably safer, right, So.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
Partying your pj's again all weekend? Right down?
Speaker 3 (08:43):
I'm good on four weekends straight.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Leanne on our Facebook page said, this is for Sam. Well,
I agree with social distancing. These are your kids, it's
not a high risk environment. Maybe it would be better
for them, you know, to have some normalcy, which is
to come to your house.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
I don't. Yeah, but I can't know that.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
I can't see viruses, so I don't know what is
in my house or who might walk next door when
I'm not paying.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
You know what? And that's true. And touch your door knob,
and then you touch your doorknob and think about that.
Now I've got something to be paranoid about my doorknobs.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
Thanks, but I think that's a good decision.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
It's just safe, better safe than sorry, as the old
cliche goes, all right kids.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Murphy's Sam and Jody.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Favorites coming up.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
I'm sorry, kill me up next Murphy, Sam and Jody's
Friday favorite.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Joy's up.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
Something that happened this week online on Facebook that almost
broke the internet.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
It was so worth it. Tell you about it next.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Text us or call us at eight seven seven three
one zero four msj of course can also reach us
on Facebook and Instagram.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Jody's Friday favorite This week one.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
I can't remember which night. I think it was Monday night.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Garth Brooks and Trusha Yurrud, who are famously married, let
the world know on Monday that they were going to
go Facebook Live for a little a Studio G.
Speaker 5 (10:01):
They called it everything he does.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
He does it like every week, right, studio G.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
But this time for people who weren't aware that he
did it.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Man was aware, So he's done Studio G since before this.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Yeah, he's been looking at that. And in fact, the
joke that they made near the beginning was its studio
tea today. Tricia made it.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
So yeah, they sang together.
Speaker 4 (10:22):
They were on there together Facebook Live just to hey,
we're all in this together. If you're stuck at home
or whatever, you if you're working your tail off right
now through COVID nineteen pandemic, we're here for you. We're
going to take requests, and they had somebody helping them
read all the requests and they were doing duets and
stuff like that, and one of the requests was was
for Shallow And when Garth heard that.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Talking about Lady Gaga and Cooper.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
I mean, it's my fantasy pian. You want me to
be the Bradley part and you can do the dog up.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Part to do that.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Yeah, you knew they had not practiced this, you know,
I don't really till is something younger.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
And he knows the words.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
Well, everybody does.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Are you happy? And the smatern.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Need.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
So that's how it started out, of course, and and
then of course it continued with Miss Trisia.
Speaker 6 (11:23):
I love the deep watch is I diven I'll never meet,
And I love.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
That they were just hanging out in T shirts, keep
wearing her glasses. They're just at home, Studio G or
studio T, whatever you call it. They are married, they're
quarantine at home. And I think that you can expect
them to do more of it. And in fact, like
we said earlier, entertainment is becoming this way right now,
and I think we all like it.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
It's very today, it's very.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Raw, bless you don't have to pay for it.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
So I really enjoyed that.
Speaker 7 (11:58):
I love Miss Shear, would Murphy Sam and Jody Sam.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
I believe Jody and I told you that to keep
our dogs from digging into the fence, that we've got
this dig defense thing that we're you know, I'm finally installing.
There's like two foot sections there. They're kind of spiky.
They go into the ground. Swing the mallet, yeah, and
then and so, I mean, it takes a little bit
of physical to get it in, but.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
So who'd you get to come do it?
Speaker 1 (12:27):
So as as I've done these, going into wet ground
is pretty easy. But there's one section of fence it's
about six feet long that I'm having trouble getting it
nailed down into it. First I thought it was tree roots,
and I put them in place and I just kind
of braced them with some rocks up against it hold
them in place. That didn't work. I mean as soon
as the dogs immediately found that despite the yeah, she's strong.
(12:51):
So I mean, I go to try to fix this,
and every time I start to do the mallet's like,
this doesn't this feels more like rock than it does roots.
So I went and got the shovel and sure enough,
I start digging down and it's massive chunks of concrete.
It's not a little bitty rocks. They weigh like thirty
and forty pounds apiece. I broke my first shovel on
(13:12):
one of them. Actually, Okay, and yeah, yeah right.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
See Jody, this is a perfect example of the way
things go for guys. Yes, you start the project. Oh,
that's gonna be easy. I'm gonna put a couple of
these in the ground. Will be good to go. Oh wait, wait,
this one's hard to get in the ground. I mean,
oh my god, it's a thirty pound piece of concrete obstacles.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
And realize with one hundred and twenty feet of fencing,
there's only one four foot section. That's a problem. I'm
almost there, yeah, yeah, but I can't. Every time I
dig down, I can't get past the concrete. And then
I found some rebar in there too. So somebody either
did something in the past to try to block the fence.
(13:53):
I don't know what they did.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
But maybe Jimmy Hoffe is very question.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
It feels like you're seeing those old movie was about,
you know, prisons and Alcatraz, where you're just chiseling through
rock and wearing myself out and accomplishing nothing.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
How deep is it?
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Well, it's not so. The rock is only about six
inches below the surface, and I need to be able
to go fifteen inches down with this thing, right, And so,
I mean, eventually I will try it again. I just
need a better shovel.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Apparently I got the solution for you. When handy Randy
brings the guitar back, truth bomb right, put him to work. Yeah, Hey,
do you happen to have a jackhammer?
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Sam's got music news?
Speaker 3 (14:33):
If the member back in January, right before the Grammys.
Every year they do this. Now they have a big
tribute concert. Since everybody's in town for the Grammys, they
get them all together and they cover songs by some artists.
They've done Aerosmith, they did McCartney and McCart I think
it was just McCartney or was it the Beatles? I
don't remember. But anyway, this past year, this January they.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
Did Prince because Usure performed it. I remember they had
all the artists there for Prince. I mean they record
it and then later on in the year we get
to see it. Let's go crazy.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
The Grammy Salute to Princes now got a date April
twenty first on CBS, which, by the way, is the
four year anniversary of his death. Oh is it really
for coincidence?
Speaker 5 (15:13):
Right?
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Right?
Speaker 3 (15:15):
And you're gonna hear all kinds of folks covering Prince songs.
John Legend does nothing compares to you.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Stuck distilutely.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
That'll be good.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yeah, yeah, And then Chris Martin and Coldplay. Sure he's
on there with Susannah Hoffs and they do Manic Monday.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Well, it'll be good to see Susannah Hoffs. I guess
it will.
Speaker 5 (15:39):
And Prince Prince would have wanted that way, and.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Molly Ringwald would get up there together.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
In your Life, you know.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Of course, these aren't the versions you're gonna hear because
they haven't released anything yet. Usher is they're going to
have that free song tribute he did during the Grammy.
They're going to replay it during this.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
And the tricky thing for artists because it's really hard
to do it better than Prince.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Well he got criticized too after the Grammys for this.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Because really nobody wants to try to do it better
than Prince, because it can't be done better than Prince.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
And the host of the show, by the way, is
Maya Rudolph Saturday Night Live.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
She's goad.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
You know I found this out too by looking into this.
She's got a cover band. They're called Princess. Guess what
music they play? Of course they play Prince. That's awesome,
and they're going to perform delirious during their show.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Wow, that's cool.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
She's so fun too.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
That's April twenty first on CBS. Also, there is now
talk of a Kurt Cobain bio pick making the rounds
in Hollywood, or one actor has stepped up and says
that I want to be Kurt Cobaine. His name is Aaron.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Paul Really for breaking Back, he would he would do
a great job.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
Greatest music news ever. Thank you, Sam.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Murphy, Sam and Jody Music News, Jody's Hollywood Outsiders.
Speaker 4 (17:07):
All these shows that we usually watch at night and
watch clips of the next morning are being filmed from
with people from home with Zoom and Microsoft teams and
all that. And the same is true for Jimmy Kimmel Live.
He had Courtney Cox on this week and it was
so funny because we're going to get to him playing
French trivia with her. But first, you know, you assume
(17:28):
that she knows everything about Monica Geller or the person
she played, but realized she hasn't binged it and binged
it and watched it all these years. So she even said,
I don't know that much about it, but she's diving
into it now.
Speaker 5 (17:41):
I just started season one it's really good.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
How are you binge watching it? Because it's not on
Netflix now?
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Right?
Speaker 5 (17:47):
No, I don't know if I just say the word
bingch I'm not sure. I bought it on Amazon Prime.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Huh. Wouldn't you think that she would have her own
copy already? Think so, maybe even autographed in gold or something.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
She did it all these years years ago, and it's
a part of our brains because we've all binged it
so much if you're a Friends fanatic. So Jimmy put
her up against his nephew, who is his cousin rather
who is a Friends fanatic?
Speaker 5 (18:11):
And they played a little trivia.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
Who list Monica and Chandler's wedding?
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Yes, Joey, Yeah, that's right. Right.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
I think it was late and he ran in.
Speaker 5 (18:24):
Yeah, she did not win.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
She does not knowing remember much about Monica Geller up
to date with Sody's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Check out some of your comments from social media, Facebook
and Instagram.

From our Facebook page. We have a message from Debbie.
I listened to your station morning on the way to work.
I hear you thinking police, firefighters, nurses, and other frontline
workers right now. Thanks for that, but I'm on my
way to school. I'm a nutrition service manager. I will
be unlocking the door for all of my employees. We
will be bagging meals for hungry kids in our community.
(19:18):
These men and women are also heroes in my book.
They're putting themselves and their families at risk to make
sure our kids are being fed. Lunch ladies, as we
are referred to, Oh love lunch ladies, don't get the
recognition that they deserve. These are some of the hardest
working people you will ever meet. We sent out eleven
hundred and sixty meals on Tuesday alone. Thank you for
(19:42):
reading my rant. Stay safe and well, DEBI that's great
nutrition services manager.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
You know. I remember as a kid, I always and
maybe that's just my parents', you know, teachings and my
grandmother's teachings or whatever, but I always had a conversation
with the lunch ladies whenever I went through the.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
What a soccer right?
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Just say it?
Speaker 2 (20:03):
I have.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
I mean it's they are sweet. They were sweet and own.
They made a good meal.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
So you've been this way your whole life is what
you're saying.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
I guess awesome.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
We cannot do any sort of one of my transaction
ordering without Murphy getting on the personal level.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
One of my good friends. I mean we went to
school together from sixth grade on. He we were roommates
in college for a couple of years. When we would
go to the cafeteria at college. Yeah, nobody wanted to
go with him because he would make the lunch ladies mad.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Really, because he was one of these people that would
comment about the way the food looked.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
Oh no, loud verbal no, oh no.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
I guess I'll take the green beans because you know,
that's the only thing that looks edible.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
That's awful.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
You look at these.
Speaker 5 (20:47):
They're busting.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Not with him, that's delicious.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
I would have steered clear of him too well.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
I thank you, Debbie for the reminder that you are
putting yourself at risk. You are hardworking. It is important
you know that. I when I was in fifth grade.
I got asked to go help the lunch ladies and
I loved it, and I even put the little hair
net on. You have the ref grade girls wanted to
do that.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
You have a square pizza recipe?
Speaker 5 (21:10):
By chance, I do not, I wish, but thank you. Debbie.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
Reach out anytime on Facebook or the gram.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
Three things to know today.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Of course, the House is set to vote on the
two trillion dollar stimulus package and then President Trump is
expected to sign it. All happening today this morning, So
meaning when will you get your checks and how so?
Checks will go out within three weeks if the IRS
has correct information on you, so they'll automatically be sent
(21:39):
to those who filed taxes or received Social Security benefits.
So if you filed in the last two years via
direct deposit, the money will be sent to you that way.
If not, the IRS is going to send your check
to the last known address that they have on file
for you.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
So being buttoned up with your info.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Gotcha very important for Americans waiting for their stimulus.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
So as usual, all the check will be in the.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
Mail, nice nice real ID cards. Remember we're supposed to
get them by Otober. Yeah, by October if you needed
to fly, if you just had to have a new
idea with the real idea on it. It was so
excited because I got mine already. But they've pushed it
back to twenty twenty one of October because DMVs are closed,
people can't register, people can't get it thanks to the coronavirus.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
I put that off another year.
Speaker 4 (22:24):
And number three, this is beautiful and it's happening all
over America. Here's a little bit from Atlanta. Applause for
healthcare workers from balconies. This is in midtown Atlanta. When
the shift change happens.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
Oh yeah, you're supposed to go out at eight o'clock
every night.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
And class and thank them for the work that they're doing.
It's happening.
Speaker 4 (22:43):
It shift changes really now all over the world. Thank
you healthcare workers.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Three things for you to know today.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Hey guys, there have been some high points to the
last week, some good moments, and so we're sharing those
in Murphy Sham and Jody Friday favorites.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
Jdy's Friday favorite.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Such a big week, you get too, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (23:06):
Screen Actors Guild Association.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
They have this literacy program they now they've had it before,
now with famous actors and actresses reading books to children
and so. But right now they're offering a lot of
it for free for your kids who are at home
and maybe you're worn out and you just know that
they need a book read. And my favorite one is
one that was recorded I don't know, eight years ago,
(23:30):
but it's available and trending again now because hello, Betty White.
Speaker 8 (23:35):
Harry was a white dog with black spots who liked
everything except getting a bed. So one day, when he
heard the water running in the tub, he took the
scrubbing brush and buried it in the backyard.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Is Harry the dirty dog that would have made her
ninety when she did that? Ninety eight?
Speaker 4 (23:56):
Now, yeah, and how listen how well she? That's the
deal about these though. The reason I like these especially
like I know that there are teachers, straight up legit
teachers who are reading to their classrooms and kids every
night too, and it's beautiful, especially when your child misses
that teacher. So go for those if you can find them,
you know, on Instagram, Facebook or wherever. Search your school's
(24:19):
you know portal right now. But the reason I like
the Betty one so much, and there's a Jimmy fallon
and there's a lot of other people. Is she's an actress.
She knows how to perform it, and it's produced out
through the screen actors guilt, so it's done in Hollywood.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Your sound effects and all get the.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
Sound effects, and when she's reading it, there's it's not
her on the screen the whole time. They focus on
the illustrations as well, which is so important. Think about
when you read Harry Potter, how important those little illustrations
were in the very at the beginning of each chapter.
There were some really cool illustrations.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Oh really, go what go back that sect, go back and.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Look at them, or get the illustrated versions now, which
are also incredible. I'm jk rolling proved. But it's just
produced out in such a wonderful way that it doesn't
matter your age. We could all use a little Harry
the Dirty Dog with Buddy White right now. So I
wanted to shout out to that again.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Murphy, Sam and Jody coming up.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
Jodie's got another Hollywood outsider.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Also, how about taking a free happiness class for your
own well being?
Speaker 5 (25:19):
Tell you how next, guys.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
I mentioned to you earlier in the week that Yale
is offering their Happiness class for free right now. They're
millions online and they do offer this. A psychology professor
teaches it for credit at Yale.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Teaches you how to be happy.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
Wellness, Yeah, how to find happiness in your life even
when you're struggling.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
Sort of a thing probably I do.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
It probably doesn't work for or Okay, you know, I mean,
I do want to check this out because you know
I like that kind of stuff.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
Anyway, I do too.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
The timing is good because the more that people are
home and you're not doing things actively, the easier it
is to get inside your own hands.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
You're out of your routine or more prone to sadness
with all the uncertainty. The funny thing is this. I'll
tell you about the course a little bit, but first
I took Taylor and I took one of our walks
the other day walking the dogs, and we were talking
and I mentioned it to her because she's wants to
be a psychology major. She's interested in all things psychology.
I'm like, you can take a free class through Yale
(26:20):
online right now, you know, And it's about well being.
Speaker 5 (26:23):
In fact, it's focused.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
It teaches you to focus on strengths, invest in experiences
rather than material things, and.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
It gets specific.
Speaker 4 (26:29):
Teaches you to be present in the great moments of
your life, you know, savor them and to It teaches
you to when you're feeling down or uncertain, to just
be kind, do something for other people, and that that
brings you back to a centered place of happiness. Okay,
And I mentioned it to her. I was like, you
could take it for free now, and she's like, really,
(26:51):
that's interesting. It's a psychology course and she was like, okay,
and I said that. I said, you can pay like
fifty bucks if you want the credit. She goes, I
want the credit?
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Oh really?
Speaker 4 (27:00):
She if she's gonna and you can either take it
for free or spend the fifty dollars with them, and
then you have to take the tests and stuff after,
but then you've get credit. One out of four Yale
students take it and say it helps them live a
more balanced life.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
I'm not doing a commercial for it, I swear, but
it does.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
See money for college class is pretty good class.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
You and I wonder if I could use the extra
three hours of credit for.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Them and you can say you went to Yale.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
Where's the silver lining here?
Speaker 1 (27:32):
Or went to Yale.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Coming up your Hollywood.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
ESPN deciding what they're going to do without so many
live sports, and they're kicking it off tonight.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Judy's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
Good news for those who are missing watching live sports
on ESPN right now, They've.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
Was supposed to be back. Okay, So if.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
You're longing for something on Friday nights ESPN, you know,
they're all hooked up with Disney, same family and family.
So on Friday nights, starting tonight, they're gonna run Disney
sports films and they've got a lot Miracle.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
That's an old one.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Russell.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Okay, Secretariat, you know that one. We're gonna be running
that Glory Road next Friday night, Josh Lucas and Glory
read and tonight Sam the rookie.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
You don't have dreams, you don't have anything.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
You're the ones you should be wanting something more.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Last time I checked, scouts are Look that's Dennis Quaid.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
That is Dennis Quaid. I had a baseball uniforms.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
And it's here Jerger too.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
Are you ready for it?
Speaker 4 (28:33):
Friday nights, gather around with the family. If you're missing
sports and you normally watch them together, watch a sports movie.
Speaker 5 (28:41):
On ESPN up.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
To date with Judy's Hollywood Outsider.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
So I want to shed a little light on something.
As Sam asked a really good question earlier with Jody's
Friday Favorite, did your your Friday Favorite is Garth Brooks
and Trisha Yearwood And they were doing Studio g and
you know, just performing for everybody, like a lot of
artists are doing right now. That Sam brought in what
and so they did Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga and
(29:10):
it was shallow and it was by request. And so
this is what Garth's response was talking about Lady Gaga
and Cooper.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
I mean, it's my fantasy.
Speaker 1 (29:21):
So I mean you would that would lead you to
believe that he doesn't know the song or the lyrics,
right if he's asking it that.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
Well, no, he knows the song.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
He's a musician. Everybody knows the song. He just is clarifying.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
It sounded like, well, what what I was going to
say on lyrics? And this is the trick I've learned
from our daughters Taylor and Phoebe. Is I mean, once
they pick up the guitar and they start playing, there
are plenty of apps that will scroll the lyrics as
you play.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
You're saying Garth probably had Uh.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
I'm not saying he did. I'm just saying he could
headed you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
When you if you were Garth, you're playing all these fans,
I bet he yes.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
I mean even Billy Joels admitted to using teleprompters in
some of his concerts. Right. So when our girls do
the once you know the music.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
Now.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
I think when they were singing Joline, they actually they
were calling that for memory. But it's really cool to
sit there in the living room and watch them sometimes
as they picked out a song, they've got the melody down,
but they're watching their iPhones.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
It's awesome.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
So I'm karaoke.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Saying that that's what Garth did. But if he needed
the help spontaneously that you could do that.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Yeah, Look, he probably had more help, and they probably
had more help in front of them than you realized.
They did have somebody reading the requests off to them,
so you can pick up the guitar. I think she
picked up the guitar at one point.
Speaker 5 (30:40):
It was really cool.
Speaker 4 (30:41):
But you're right, everything that these kids and everybody needs
just on your phone almost everything, almost everything. Yeah, we
love hearing from you on Facebook and Instagram, or you
can call eight seven seven three one zero four MSJ
I have another. This one came from Instagram. Sean says,
(31:01):
thank you for saying that people do not need to
go walk around Walmart. I work at Walmart and we
are all worried about getting coronavirus duh, or taking it
home to our families. Please think of others as well
during this time.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Well, when you say walk around, you mean just like
hanging out and are just not going in to directly
get what you need and leave.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
Or I guess what I guess she means that people
who are just hey, I'm here anyway for bread and milk.
Let me go see you know what's up in you know,
ladies clothing?
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Yeah, gotcha? Yeah that makes sense.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
I understand you feel what I'm saying, and I agree
with that when we are there right now to get
what our families need when we're out, it does need
those grocery store rules we talked about the other day. No,
you have your list, go straight in, stay away from people,
wipe down the cart and get your biz and get out.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Thank you, Sean, and be sure to like our Facebook page,
follow us on Instagram. Also, because Jody is doing a
lot of extra Facebook lives right now on Instagram Life,
we don't want you to miss any of those.
Speaker 5 (32:02):
Fund to connect like that.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
It is fun to connect like that, and it's also
fun to come hang out later on. We'll do another
Murphy Sam and Jody After the Show podcast later today
