Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now throughout your dating journey, Robin, you've been very careful
to make sure we protect the innocent.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Yes, because these people I work in radio, they don't.
So as you've if you've been playing along for a while,
I dated a guy called drill Man that kind of
fizzled out. Then I had dated a guy called mister Scorpio
who dumped me, and so I've come off all the apps.
So it was with a lot of shock that I
saw on Saturday night that a guy has contacted me

(00:25):
on my phone, texting me saying who is this? You're
in my phone as Robin of Brisbane. Yes, And so
then we had this text exchange and I read a
lot of it out yesterday, which you can catch up
with on the podcast if you want to. But of
course I have his number.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
And you haven't spoken to him yet, and so as
far as we know, everything has told you was legit
and he does actually want to go on a date. Yeah.
But so we were able to in order to make
sure that we don't expose anyone that is otherwise legitimate
just looking for that, we were able to record this
just moments ago. This is us phoning that number all

(01:02):
right here. We go nervous.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Yeah, I am. Do I talk first, I.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Think so it'll be weird, Yes, it will.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Okay, sorry, okay, you're on answer, I reckon. I don't know,
just do it.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
We're just gast Italian sense. Okay, I'm darling. I'm daring,
just taking suspiciously longer get through. If you'd like to leave.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
The name and number and hold backle things. Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
You want now that name, the name that he gave,
which we were able to scramble that voice obviously, so
you don't recognize him if you were a friend of
that person. But the name that he gave is not
the name he gave you. No, it's not. It's not
Italian either.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Well no, but there's someone answering that phone.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yes, who's who is that person? Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Oh this sounds so Dodge. Okay. I I just talk
to my girlfriends about this too, and they immediately said
it was Dodge. Do you want to hear what they
had to say? Sure?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Yeah, I want to know why he's got your number.
Now he knows what suburb you live in. I was
like two messages in. I was like a bush. But
I'm not looking for somebody, so I can see why
you continue to engage. But how has he got your number?

Speaker 2 (02:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah, I don't know how. A massive red flag on
that I want to send to the cyber people.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Also single, but don't think I'd be thrilled about somebody
random having my number.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
But also I'm really thinking about giving my number out.
Like in all the dating stuff, I didn't ever give
my number out. I always did it through that apps,
and it was actually better for me to meet someone
in person than it was to give them my number
of the apps.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
This is a full I don't buy it. I don't
buy any of it. I think this is a full
catfish situation. You're number through someone somehow, a friend of
a friend, even though you're careful about it. A lot
of people do know you, and a lot of people
do have your number. Somehow this guy has gotten it.
I don't believe these are his photos. I reckon he's
stolen photos. I don't believe it's his photos or he's

(03:03):
directly lying about his age. I don't believe any of it.
And it's too polished. All the messages are too polish.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Okay, he said he was forty six, and he doesn't
look forty six.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
No, he looks thirty, don't they on those photos?

Speaker 3 (03:16):
What am I going to go?

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Well, I don't want to do. I mean, I thought it.
I thought there was a chance because he wanted to
catch up. It seemed like it was probably legit. But
it's very strange that that voice doesn't sound anything like
he described and it's also a different name, so that, yeah,
it's no good. This is something bogus.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Do I try do I try?

Speaker 1 (03:36):
And ring like just from your farm part.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Okay, So part of me now gets really angry, right
because it's this is what happens all the time. Yes,
in women, and I'm sure men do too, But I
know a lot of women who get catfished. Yes, my
dudes who say there's something and they're not.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yes. But the great thing is you're in a position
of knowing what you know. You know that he's full
of it, right, and so that well, you've got pretty
good to you that's full of it. So that means
we can play with it. It means we can have
a bit of fun. We can stick a p I
onto him, we can do whatever we want. Yes, let's
got p I Dave onto him. Let's see if we
can find who this bloke is, and I wonder if

(04:13):
they are stolen photos. I wonder who that guy is,
does he know? And who is that bloke? We just
all right, well, that means we can play. This is good,
we can play. Yes, we're gonna play. We're gonna play
with this guy.
